Runway Reviews: Badgley Mishka Spring 2012 RTW

The Badgley Mishka Spring 2012 Collection was an explosion of color and I LOVE IT. I have felt that for Spring there have been WAY to many looks incorporating black. In this show there was not a single look using any black which made me extremely happy. Oranges, pinks, yellows, and aquas dominated the runway with accents of nudes, white, green, and gold. This is a very might and extravagant collection and only very brave souls will dare to take the risk on any of the looks in this collection which is how I picked the wishes for my top three looks from this collection, which are as always posted below.

Runway Reviews: Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 RTW

Thanks to Mayballine I was able to watch several of the Spring 2012 RTW collections live via the LiveRunway channel on YouTube. Now as New York Fashion Week has passed, I can only rely on Style.com and Women’s Wear Daily for runway images of the collections from London, Milan, and Paris. Now as I was saying I watched this one live, and I let out gasps for almost every look from the first look out on the runway. The ultra feminine collection sets the spring season quite nicely with bright colors such as pink, purple, yellow, and orange; as well as whites, nudes, and black. To narrow down my three favorites was a task in its own because there were so many amazing looks that I wanted to feature (and probably will in other red carpet wish lists). I finally picked my three favorites and then choose the celebrities that I wish would wear them, and those are bellow:

Runway Report: Victoria Beckham Spring 2012 RTW
Victoria Beckham knows who her client is and designs her collection for them and only them, if someone else happens to like something from the collection so be but Vicki only designs for one person, and that is herself. Victoria is really the best ambassador of her own line as she every time she goes out is either wearing one of her amazing dresses, coats, or gowns; or she is carrying one of her extremely expensive collection of handbags. The sleek slilouettes that are all so common with Victoria were paired with Vickis new shoe collaborator, Christian Louboutin. After working with shoe desinger Brian Atwood since the launch of her line in Fall of 2008 with her Spring 2009 collection. This shouldnt come as a suprise to me as Vicki has been wearing a lot of Louboutins this year and I cant even recall the last time I saw her in Atwoods. Now the collection had a color pallete of navy, black, ornage, white, and silver. My three favorite looks are shown bellow with the celebrity that I would most like to see in them (however I would not mind to see Victoria wearing and of them):

Runway Review: Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 RTW

The inspiration for Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2012 RTW collection was interesting. He had photos of nude women bound by rope by the photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Now this is interesting as two of his biggest clients, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama, don’t necessarily come to mind when that is said. Even though, I could totally see either of them wearing several pieces of this collection. With a color palette of black, white, purple, green, and aqua blue. I was a bit surprised that the seasons hottest color, yellow, was not on Prabal’s runway. Bellow are my top three looks and the fabulous women who should wear them:

Runway Report: Christian Siriani Spring 2012 RTW
Christian Siriano S/S 2012 from Brad Walsh on Vimeo</a>.

Christian Siriano has taken the avant garde and mixed it with the wearable pieces and amazing shoes for Payless. The former Project Runway winner still has a fan base from the show in Nina Garcia and Heidi Klum whom both sat front row alongside Leigh Lezark, Sarah Hyland, and Corrine Bailey Rae. The collection was suprisingly sort of tame, considering some dub Christian the King of Tulle, which he sort of is and did not disappoint in his amazing gowns. I hope to see a bunch of these looks on the red carpet my top three from the collection are showcased below:

Runway Report: Farah Angsana Spring 2012 RTW

Farah Angsana does a bunch of great red carpet stuff and is not nearly worn near often enough on the red carpet. She only has a small celebrity following including Ashley Tisdale, Katherine Heigl, and Ashley Greene. This collection was entitled “Oriental Enchantment” and it definately showed its Asian influences. Color pallate included blue, nude, white, orange, and pink. Below are my top three looks and who I believe who should wear them:

Whoops Elizabeth Banks….

Runway Report: Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2012 RTW

div style=”text-align: center;”>

Cushnie et Ochs has started to gain a nice celebrity following with fans in Zoe Saldana, Rihanna, Ciara, Eva Longoria, Anna Paquin, Teresa Palmer, Jessica Alba, and Olivia Wilde. This collection was so sexy as with all of their collections and I loved the color pallatee of white, black, bubble cum pink, beige, and of course the seasons hottest color yellow. Style.com reports that Barbie and Betty Draper are both on the mood board and how they translated is quite modern and I really love this collection. Bellow are three wishes for celebrities to wear on the red carpet:

Runway Report: BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012 RTW

So the first show of NY Fashion Week that I set an alarm to watch on Live Stream, was the BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012 RTW show. Yes I set an alarm to wake me up at 10 on the first day of my weekend just to see the amazingness that is BCBG. I was not disappointed with what I saw either. Lots of flowey casual dresses that are color blocked with blues, blacks, oranges, purples, and this seasons hottest color yellow. Below I have picked celebrities to wear my top 3 looks:
Best Dressed at the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards

Just as a heads up this list (except for the first picture) is in no particular order of how I liked the look of that celebrity and this is only the best dressed, I am not posting because I have an idea to use the worst dressed looks later on.

This is PERFECTION. Here is The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev wearing a red Donna Karan Resort 2012 mermaid gown. She looked absolutely stunning and 100% drop dead diva gorgeous. Nina has not always been someone that I look forward to seeing on the red carpet because she usually looks extremely tacky, so when I saw this my jaw dropped. This is my best dressed of the night.
Shall we go into the runners up (in no particular order)?:
Sofia Vergara looked absolutely stunning in her Vera Wang gown. The gown is in Sofia’s favorite mermaid silhouette and she is totally working her sex symbol status. She paired her look with some statement jewelry featuring Colombian emerald from her native country, Colombia.
Sarah Hyland is wearing the youthful version of her Modern Family co-stars (Sofia Vergara) gown, but hers is designed by Project Runway alum Christian Siriano. The color is amazing on Sarah and she looks sophisticated and elegant whilst still looking youthful.
Olivia Munn becomes the first celebrity to wear a look from the Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 RTW collection. This does not come as much of a surprise as Olivia has been wearing a lot of Carolina’s designs lately and was sitting front row at the designers runway show where this gown was presented last week. The color looks amazing on her and her hair is not horrible like it usually is. I am also glad that she kept her accessories simple.
Kerry Washington brought the va-va-va-voom to the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards last night, wearing a red (the color of the night) strapless gown from the Zuhair Murad Fall 2011 Couture collection. This gown is sexy and bodacious yet still classy. I wondered who was going to be brave enough to wear this, and the even better question would she look like a whore? Well the answer to the brave is obviously Kerry and to the does she look like a whore question? No she does not look like a whore but confident and sexy.
Kristen Wiig looked absolutely fantastic in this ombre brown Zac Posen gown that was custom designed for her. Again this is a great color on her and I also that her for picking extremely complimentary accessories.
Lea Michele looked absolutely fantastic in this custom Marchesa gown. Now with that said I have to throw a flag for foul play on Marchesa. Why? Because this gown is a mix of Pippa Middleton’s Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress and a Valentino Pre-Fall 2011 cocktail dress the Hailee Steinfeld wore earlier this year. Now with that said Lea still rocked it as she would have in anything and no animosity is felt for her not wearing my wish for her.
Kelly Osbourne looked amazing in her custom J. Mendel gown. Kelly whist watching the E! Live From The Red Carpet said that Marchesa would not send her any options because they were only dressing one celebrity last night (well that was found out to be not true as you will see below). Well honey all you should have to say to them is, Marchesa who? Because you look absolutely stunning wearing this gown. The color totally 100% looks great on you and your accessories are amazing.
Kate Winslet won Best Actress in a TV Movie or Mini-Series for her role in Mildred Peirce, and she looked amazing wearing the color of the night (red) her gown was designed by Elie Saab for his first ever Resort 2012 collection. The silhouette looked amazing on her and I am glad she did not opt for the runway belt. A gold clutch and simple diamonds completed her winning look.
Julie Bowen was also a winner last night and looked amazing in her Oscar de la Renta gown. This is the first time the actress has worn an A-list designer and she looked radiant and had an air of confidence that she knew how good she looked. Congrats to her for knocking it out of the ballpark last night.
Now this deserves the most improved award because this is the FIRST time EVER that Jenna Ushkowitz has ever made it on to one of my best dressed lists. Now this gown could have gone VERY wrong making it look like she has box figure but Jenna worked this gown to death which is a good thing. She pulled her hair back into a slick pony tail and amazing makeup completed her look with a clutch and simple drop earrings.
Gwyneth Paltrow looked amazing wearing an extremely daring midriff baring Emilio Pucci gown. Gwyneth who won an Emmy for her guest appearances on the hit FOX show Glee and was a presenter last night looked the point of Hollywood starlet and I find no faults in her look.
Evan Rachel Wood resorted to her go to color roots for this Emmy gown. It is from the Elie Saab Fall 2011 RTW collection and she looked the best she has in a while. I love the gown, hair, and makeup and it looked freaking fantastic.
Emily Blunt who attended the awards ceremony to support her husband The Office star John Karasinksi. Usually when she is at an event supporting John she dresses simply, not last night she went for a show stopping Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture gown and I am so glad that she did and I love it.
Here was the second Marchesa gown of the night, now I am posting this because she looks amazing even though she is wearing her go to nude color that she favors all to often but she still looks elegant.
I had no idea who Cobie Smulders was before I saw her in this aqua blue Alberta Ferretti gown on the red carpet. I am in love with this whole look as she looks so ethereal and luminous. This proves that when you pair the right person with the right gown, that fashion magic can be made.
I love this look again because it is ethereal but she took the look down a few notched with the vamp makeup. On any hand Aubrey Plaza looked fantastic in her white Juan Carlos Obando Fall 2011 RTW gown last night. I have no idea who she is, but I hope to see more from her in the future.
Now this is a stunning gown is stunning and looks AMAZING on Claire Danes. The Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 gown is amazing with a blue sequined geometric pattern. Claire just made this look effortless as she seems to do with anything that she puts on and I am so excited by this look and she really challenged Nina for the best dressed spot so she is best dressed first runner up, if for whatever reason Nina Dobrev can not fulfill her duties Claire will take the responsibilities over.
Now I want to hear from you:

Emmy Awards Wish List: Tina Fey (30 Rock)

I am always hoping for drama from Tina Fey and this Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 wish for her to wear to tonights Emmy Awards is just freaking fantastic. I love the black tulle ruched and feathered over the nude base. Tina is a huge fan of Oscar and so she should as he is an impecible dress designer and always puts modern spins on classic styles. To finish this look all Tina needs are some black pumps, no clutch, small diamond earrings, simple diamond bracelet and her hair worn up.
I hope that you all enjoy tonight’s awards ceremony I know I will as I sit with a group of my friends and rip everyone’s outfits to shreds (unless they are wearing a gown that I choose for them of course X-D)
