Olivia Palermo to wear the Resort 2014 Collections

Olivia Palermo has been giving Miranda Kerr a run for her model money in the street style department lately stepping out in several absolutely fabulous ensembles while traveling and out and about in NYC. I think some of the Resort 2014 collections would help add a boost to her street style and help boost her to the Best Street Style Award win. First we have this green and brown printed Carven Resort 2014 shirt dress. I think that this is something that Olivia would look absolutely stunning wearing as she runs around New York from designer showroom to designer showroom. I could see Olivia pairing this dress with her Valentino ‘Rockstud’ python dome bag and a pair of Zara multi-strap camel sandals to complete this business ready fashion forward look.

I thought that this Emilio Pucci Resort 2014 ensemble which consists of a coral blouse and a pair of baby pink pants would also be a great choice for Olivia as it is a little more casual and easy to do a large amount of running as she goes from the office, to lunch, to a photo shoot. I think that this look will most likely be scooped up for a photocall during the Venice, Toronto, or Rome Film Festivals but Olivia would look just as good as any Hollywood actress wearing this. Where Olivia would have the upper hand is in her top notch styling which I could see including her raspberry Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton handbag and a pair of Sergio Rossi ‘Oberoj’ multi colored and patterned sandals to complete this amazing ensemble for Olivia.

In April, Olivia Palermo attended a Louis Vuitton boutique opening in Munich, Germany as well as being a regular at the Louis Vuitton runway shows. These events have brought me to choose this flirty BOHO Louis Vuitton Resort 2014 yellow dress as my final wish for the sartorial diva. Olivia can either be very Upper West Side chic or Flirty with more of a European BOHO inspired look which is were my inspiration for this ensemble comes from.  A Chloe ‘Marcie’ light brown leather bag and Lanvin satin crisscross sandals would be the perfect look for a casual day off of sightseeing and lunches around the city.

Michelle Obama to wear the Resort 2014 Collections

In today’s Resort 2014 wish list I am sending out good vibes for American designers to dress the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama is one of my favorite ladies to see take to the world stage because she does have quite the sense of style and is the perfect mane quin to represent American fashion and designers. One designer that I am surprised the First Lady has not donned in the past is famed evening wear designers Badgley Mischka. While she may not have worn the brand in the past this vibrant purple to fuchsia ombre-esque Badgley Mischka Resort 2014 gown with a beaded bodice would be a perfect look for Michelle for the likes of a State Dinner or other formal White House function.

Following the glamorous evening gown I have a look for when the First Lady stand behinds a lectern and speaks during functions that are hosted at the White House and beyond. This Carolina Herrera Resort 2014 ensemble which consists of a black halter neck top with white and gold floral beading paired with white wide leg trousers would be a great look for the Michelle. She is the first First Lady in decades that has taken the liberty of showing off her toned arms and shunning the stereotypical “First Lady Suit” that her formers wore for almost all public appearances and for that I thank her because she really has kept the last 4 1/2 years interesting always keeping the world on their feet as they wait to see what the First Lady will wear next.

One thing that we usually don’t see from the First Lady is a stray from classic style evening wear for State Dinners and other formal political functions which is a shame because there are a number of printed designs that would look amazing on Michelle, case and point this amazing black, white, and blue Christian Siriano Resort 2014 ball gown with a geometric lined printed skirt. This is an amazing look and I really have no doubts that it will be picked up for someone to wear to a premiere or awards show but I think that Michelle Obama would look absolutely ‘Fierce’ to steal the designers signature term for an event like the Kennedy Center Honors wearing this fabulous design.

And finally we have a tropical printed silk chiffon button down blouse and a pair of white trousers with a blue waistband and tuxedo stripe from the Rachel Roy Resort 2014 collection. This look is a typical look for the First Lady when she is out visiting Schools, Veterans, or any other real casual appearance. The laid back breezy look is a great way that the Michelle tries to stay accessible to the public instead of wearing stuffy clothing all the time.

Miranda Kerr to wear the Resort 2014 Collections

Miranda Kerr had the Best Street Style Award in lock last year with several amazing sidewalk style looks this year it seems the stunning Victoria’s Secret model has a little competition from Olivia Palermo, Beyonce, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and I have a feeling that it will be a close race to the bitter end. Today I’m going to bring you a few looks that would help boot Miranda up on the Best Street Style list. This blue floral A.L.C. Resort 2014 would be an absolutely amazing pick for Miranda for when she just steps out of her New York City apartment to run some errands like grocery shopping and taking her adorable son Flynn out on a play date. Not one to usually forgo a pair of stilettos I would actually have Miranda wear a pair of black sandals and carry a blue 3.1 Phillip Lim ‘Pashli’ tote and a pair of oversized sunglasses would complete this amazing look.

In the Resort 2014 collections Marchesa released a contemporary diffusion line named Marchesa Voyage which is designed with the same woman in mind that purchases the luxe evening wear from the main label as well as the Notte by Marchesa (the lower priced evening wear line) at a much more affordable cost to them. Having worn a stunning Marchesa dress at the 2011 Met Gala as a guest of the brand I would say that she is one of the women that they had in mind as a client for this collection especially after seeing this amazing Marchesa Voyage Resort 2014 zipper embellished dress. I could see Miranda wear with a white blazer a pair of white pointy toe Manolo Blahnik pumps and a blue and black Jason Wu ‘Jourdan’ satchel making the perfect look for running around the city from meeting to meeting as she runs her empire.

In an appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ earlier this year Miranda Kerr donned a stunning Mary Katrantzou printed pencil dress and looked absolutely perfect for her interview. For that dress Miranda actually did not pick the original runway look as it was extremely covered up and over the top but waited for the commercial version of the dress to come out. This is the very first Resort collection from Mary Katrantzou which shows her much more commercial side. This look presented on her normal Fall or Spring runway would have most likely been completely embellished but this look is just printed silk and would look amazing on Miranda as she runs around New York City promoting herself and Victoria’s Secret. In fact I would actually add the same orange Alexander McQueen ‘Heroine’ handbag and blue pumps that she is pictured wearing in the picture on the left to complete a perfect look for promoting herself.

Last but not least we have another favorite look from all the Resort 2014 collections, this one courtosey of Peter Pilotto. Why is this one of my favorites? Well I love the mix of structure, draping, and color blocking as well as the designers rare departure from mixed media prints. This is another great look for Miranda to wear as she runs around the city from business meeting to business meeting. This is a very professional look which Miranda pulls off like anything else that she wears. A pair of white pointy toe Manolo Blahnik pumps and a blue Prada ‘Pyramid Accordion’  frame bag would be the perfect finishing touches to this amazing look.

Dita von Teese to wear the Resort 2014 Collections Wish List

Dita von Teese the Queen of Fetish and Burlesque dancing made a welcome red carpet return earlier this year. Dita has always been one of my favorite ladies to see grace the red carpets and is one of the few people who can pull off the complete pin-up ensemble. So this year instead of just doing a single ’10 Best of the Resort 2014 Collections’ post I am going to show four looks for a celebrity that makes a lot of red carpet appearances but does not get featured on here often. Up first we have the Carolina Herrera Resort 2014 collection with this amazing black gown with sheer sleeves with white beading. Dita would rock this look for any number of gala appearances that she makes.

When I saw this powder blue Marchesa Resort 2014 Grecian draped dress I thought of how light and airy it would look on Dita who normally wears very structured ensembles and this ethereal gown would be a welcome variation to her normal ensembles. The usual Marchesa Resort 2014 collection is just as large as any other runway collection but this year a modest 14 look garden inspired collection was presented and this powder blue gown will most likely be the most fought over look from the collection as it is a classic Marchesa style. Dita should finish this look with a silver Judith Leiber clutch, a pair of silver Christian Louboutin sandals, as well as sapphire and diamond jewelry and Dita will have the perfect look for a red carpet event.

Up next I have a stunning Mary Katrantzou Resort 2014 strapless cocktail dress. The funky London based designer released her very first Resort collection this year and there are definitely some major red carpet moments held within. This amazing window pane rose full skirted cocktail dress with this amazing dress has to be one of my favorite out of all the Resort collections as it is awesomely amazing and so stunning. This dress is very 50’s in style and the print only adds to the amazingness of the ensemble. On Dita that this cocktail dress would just come to life with a pair of red Christian Louboutin pumps.

And last but not least is a stunning Zac Posen Resort 2014 floral patterned cocktail dress. This dress is totally 40’s/50’s influenced by the way of the 1980’s. I think that this dress is actually very similar to the black velvet Ulyana Sergeenko Couture dress that Dita wore to the 2013 amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala during the Cannes Film Festival. I think that this dress would totally surpass the Ulyana dress solely based on the fact that it is not a standard black dress. Complete this ensemble for Dita with a pair of amazing crystal encrusted Christian Louboutin pumps and some amazing Chopard diamond jewelry and this will make international red carpet best dressed lists.

Valentino Fall 2013 Couture Presentation Wish List

 Valentino Fall 2013 Couture will most likely be the last celebrity filled front row presentation during Paris Couture Fashion week only to possibly be added will be the new Viktor & Rolf couture show that will take place immediately after the Valentino show next Wednesday July 3rd. After her Academy Awards dress switch up drama (she as supposed to wear Valentino Couture but instead showed up in Prada, the Valentino then went on to be worn by Nicole Kidman during Cannes) Anne Hathaway has brought a whole new edgy blonde look and seems to have mended the relationship with the historic fashion house. If she were to attend the Fall 2013 Couture presentation next week this black ans white school girl inspired Valentino Fall 2013 RTW dress is what I would recommend for her. This dress is classic and not too over the top for Anne. Complete the look with a pair of black pumps, a black clutch, and a pair of black and silver aviator sunglasses and Anne will have a chic elegant ensemble to sit front row at the Valentino show.

 While it may not have been my favorite look from Carina Lau earlier this year she stepped out in a red silk Valentino Fall 2012 Couture long sleeved bell shaped gown, much better suited for Tilda Swinton or Queen Raina of Jordan than herself, but still look pretty and I am hoping to see her attend the Valentino Fall 2013 Couture presentations to see if she can get her hands on anything for the Chinese awards season this fall. To do so I would love to see Carina wear this head to toe Valentino Spring 2013 Couture ensemble. I think that the actress who pulls off sophistication so well would look grand in this white long sleeved gown with a sheer embroidered yoke and a classic knee length paired with the runway white lace pointy toed pumps. Sweep her hair into a simple daytime up do and maybe add a white leather clutch to the look and Carina will have the look to beat front row.

Milla Jovovich has not had the best red carpet year this year wearing a lot of things that just do not flatter her body or are just plain ugly. One relief to that was her ruffled Valentino Spring 2013 Couture gown worn to the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS gala during the Cannes Film Festival last month. I usually love when Valentino and Milla pair up to give us a grand red carpet moment and I would find it only fitting that she sit front row to scope out possible looks for the red carpet. This tone on tone blue Valentino Fall 2013 Couture pleated dress had to have been one of my favorite pieces from that collection and it still surprises me that Keira Knightley, Zoe Saldana, or Hilary Swank has not scooped it up for any red carpet or promotional event but Milla would look stunning wearing it on her way into and sitting front row at the Valentino Fall 2013 Couture presentation. Finish the look with a midnight blue clutch, a pair of blue closed toe pumps, and loose wavy hair and Milla will have the perfect look for the presentation next week.

Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture Presentation Wish List

Carina Lau was in Cannes last month to promote her film ‘Bends’ and to do so she took some amazing Elie Saab couture creations for a spin. I can not recall Carina sitting front row at an Elie Saab show and having recently been taking the brand for a few red carpet test drives I would love to see her attend the Fall 2013 Couture presentation on July 3rd. This teal Elie Saab Fall 2013 RTW dress is perfect for Carina to wear to sit front row and hold court over all the stunning designs that I am sure will undoubtedly take to the runway during this show. Finish with a pair of lace Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture pumps and Carina will look stunning on her first Elie Saab front row trip.

Queen of Burlesque Dita von Teese is a HUGE fan of Elie Saab and I am a huge fan of Dita in Elie Saab so after making a grand red carpet return during the Cannes Film Festival wearing an Elie Saab Couture cocktail dress. I am hoping that she will make a trip to Paris next week to take in the spectacle that will without a doubt be full of glamorous red carpet ready gowns and cocktail ensembles. For Dita to sit front row I would love to see her wear this black embellished Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture cocktail dress. I do not think that Dita has ever met a black dress that she hasn’t liked complete the look with a pair of go to Christian Louboutin pumps and her signature red lip and Dita will have a look that is perfect for front row at a couture fashion show.

The Queen of Elie Saab title, while with very high competition of Dita von Teese, definitely goes to Fan Bingbing who is a frequent at Elie Saab fashion shows sitting front row just looking for that next gown for her next red carpet appearance. For the Fall 2013 Couture presentation I would love to see Fan wear this amazing lemon yellow Elie Saab Fall 2013 RTW dress. I think that this dress would look amazing against Fan’s fair colored skin. Complete with a gold clutch and a pair of nude pumps will make another great look for her and the brand.

Another lady who stunned at the Cannes Film Festival wearing not only one but two glam Elie Saab creations was Zhang Ziyi and I would love to see her attend the Fall 2013 Couture presentation to scope out potential future red carpet looks. To do so I would love to see her wear this amazing blue and white color blocked Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 cap sleeved a-line dress. Zhang is one of the few that come to mind when I see this dress and it would be a perfect look for her to snatch up to sit front row. Finish with a pair of black peep toe pumps and Zhang will stand out in a modern yet still elegant ensemble at the Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture presentation next week.

Chanel Fall 2013 Couture Presentation Wish List

Chanel runway shows always bring in a huge celebrity crowd be it Ready To Wear, Cruise, Pre-Fall or Couture the biggest names on the international fashion scene flock to Paris each season to be among the first to see the latest creations from Karl Lagerfeld for the house. Diane Kruger is a regular at the Chanel shows and she had really disappointed me at the Spring 2013 Couture show wearing an ensemble that seemed to twee for the glamorous actress. The new face of Chanel skincare should snatch up this amazing sequined floral Chanel Spring 2013 Couture cocktail dress. For a couture show you are able to go more over the top than you would for a regular fashion show especially for a Chanel Couture show. This dress paired with a simple pair of black sandals and a blue clutch would give Diane the perfect front row ensemble.

Back int he day when Emma Watson was first starting to promote the Harry Potter franchise Emma was a huge fan of Chanel and recently in the promo tour for her newest film ‘The Bling Ring’ she has returned to the brand that made her one to watch on the red carpet. I would not be surprised if Emma were to walk into the Grand Palais for the Chanel Fall 2013 Couture presentation on July 2nd. For this front row I would love to see Emma wear one of my favorite looks from the Chanel Spring 2013 Couture collection. I love this black chiffon rouched dress which just screams classic Chanel. Emma is a classic beauty and she would pull this dress off with great aplomb. Finish the look with a bold blue Chanel sparkling handbag and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps and Emma will stand out even with a simple black dress.

One of my favorite looks from the stunning Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi during her run as a member of the ‘Un Certain Regard’ jury at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival was when she stepped out in a midnight blue and gold Chanel Fall 2009 Couture strapless peplum gown as it was classic yet futuristic, edgy yet glamorous, and perfect for a night time Cannes premiere. I am hoping that we see a lot of Zhang at Paris Couture Fashion Week next week as she has love affairs with almost all of the couture houses. For the Chanel Spring 2013 Couture show I would love to see Zhang wear this white cap sleeve tweed dress with a bit of an a line skirt. This is another classic Chanel ensemble. I of course would not pair the dress with the matching capris, just a pair of silver pumps and a white Chanel quilted chain strap bag.

Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture Presentation Wish List

 Cate Blanchett is almost 100% confirmed the Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture presentation on July 2nd in Paris as she was recently named the face of the next Giorgio Armani perfume ‘Si.’ As many followers of this blog know that I am a HUGE fan of Cate Blanchett when she steps out on the red carpet so I am sure she will be on hand to find her next red carpet ensemble. To sit in the front row I would love to see Queen Cate wear this amazing black and gilver Armani Prive Spring 2013 Couture pant suit. It is not often that we see Cate in pants but I think that this ensemble is the perfect look for her to wear for the event. Complete this look with the runway styling and Cate will have a winning look on her hands as she usually does when she attends and Armani Prive presentation.

 Naomi Watts dazzled in a gunmetal silver custom Armani Prive gown at this years Academy Awards and after that I would love to see her wear this amazing blue watercolor patterned dress at the Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture presentation. I am in love with Naomi wearing Armani designs as he is a designer that she frequents on the red carpet along with Alexander McQueen and Marchesa. This dress was one of my favorites from the Giorgio Armani Spring 2013 RTW collection and I am surprised that one of the two other ladies or Naomi didn’t snatch it up after it was presented last September in Milan. Finish the look with a silver clutch and a pair of silver Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps and Naomi will have a glamorous ensemble to sit front row at couture fashion week.

While on her jury duty at this years Cannes Film Festival the always stunning Australian actress Nicole Kidman donned a custom Giorgio Armani Prive white gown with gold embellishments for the Closing Ceremony. While I still stand by the fact that I am almost positive that Nicole will soon be announced as a Christian Dior brand ambassador that she will still sit front row at Armani Prive Fall 2013 as she will not be a brand ambassador that exclusively wears the brand. For this runway show I would love to see Nicole wear this black, white, and red printed one shoulder cocktail dress from the Armani Prive Spring 2013 Couture collection, sans matching pants of course. This is one of my favorite cocktail ensembles from the collection that I believe that was much under utilized on the red carpet. Finish the look with a red Armani clutch and a sexy pair of black sandals from Jimmy Choo and Nicole will have a stunning look for the presentation on July 2nd.

Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture Presentation Wish List

Hilary Swank attended amFAR’s Life Ball last month wearing an amazing animal print Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture cocktail dress for the red carpet. I loved this look and would love to see Mrs Swank attend the designers Fall 2013 Couture collection presentation on July 1st to see what she might be able to grab off his runway next. To do so I would love to see her grab up the red draped Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2013 dress all the way to the right. I think that this is a classic look that would be perfect for a celebrity for the front row of the show. Finish off with a pair of gold pumps by the designer and Hilary has a great look going for her.

Jessica Biel is Giambattista Valli’s biggest Hollywood fan and friend. For her wedding late last year to pop star Justin Timberlake, Jessica and her entire wedding party wore custom Giambattista Valli designs. If she were to attend the designers Fall 2013 Couture runway show then I would love to see her wear this very lady like mint green with what looks to be pale pink crystal embroidery. It is not very often we see Jess go for a very classic lady like dress but I think that this would look stunning on her. Add a pair of silver peep toe pumps and Jessica will have the perfect front row ensemble.

Olivia Palermo has attended the Giambattista Valli couture show since the very first one in Fall of 2011. She usually wears high street brands like Zara or Topshop but I think that this snow leopard print Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2013 dress is very much in tune with Olivia’s sense of style. Of course I would expect her to pair this dress with a white blazer by one of her high street brands, a feather clutch, and a great pair of sandals.

The final star that I would love to see front row at the Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture presentation is Zhang Ziyi. As a member of the Un Certain Regard jury during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival last month Zhang Ziyi wore two looks by Giambattista one for the Jury Photocall and one for the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala. With 2 films premiering towards the end of this year and a stint on the Chinese version of the ‘X Factor’ coming up I am sure that we will see Zhang scoping out looks during some fashion shows soon. For this show I would love to see Zhang wear this amazing sunflower yellow Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture cocktail dress. I am still a little surprised that this dress hasn’t been snapped up for a red carpet appearance yet. The only finishing touch that this dress need is a pair of gold ankle strap pumps and Zhang will shine like a ray of sunshine.

Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture Presentation Wish List

Monday July 1st will mark the 1 year anniversary for Raf Simons at Christian Dior and I am expecting a front row at the Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture presentation to be jam packed with glamorous editors, spokesmodels, and celebrities. One spokesmodel that I am sure we will see is Jennifer Lawrence. JLaw as she has become to be known will without a doubt be sitting front row scoping out possible ensembles for her to wear for the ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ promo tour that will start later this year. For the front row I would love to see Jennifer wear this floral bustier and black pant ensemble from the Christian Dior Spring 2013 Couture collection. I have been in love with this look since it took to the runway back in January. Finish the look with a messy bun, natural faced makeup, and a pair of black pumps and Jennifer will have the perfect front row ensemble.

Marion Cotillard is the undisputed queen of Dior and has already snatched up a custom dress and the first off the runway look from the Christian Dior Cruise 2014 collection. I am wishing that the French beauty will wear this amazing green Christian Dior Cruise 2014 dress that makes me think about the classic silhouettes of the 1950s. The color on Marion would look divine. Complete this retro inspired look with a faux wavy bob, a pair of white pumps, and a white Christian Dior ‘Lady Dior’ bag and Marion will ensure some classic Hollywood glam for the French houses big show.

Having recently donned several Christian Dior ensembles within a month I am taking a bet that Nicole Kidman will be one of the next faces of Christian Dior. I have to say that this is a match made in heaven as Nicole is the epitome of old Hollywood glamour and knows how to carry off some incredibly difficult designs. Recently Mrs Kidman has been showing off almost a Rockabilly sense of style which is why is picked this white black and pink Christian Dior Cruise 2014 coat dress. I think that this dress on Nicole would look fantastic as she has the air of sophistication to pull it off. Complete with a pair of bold pink Jimmy Choo pumps and a white Christian Dior clutch and a sleek pony tail and Nicole will have a winning look on her hand yet again.

One person I usually really look forward to seeing during fashion weeks is socialite and editor Olivia Palermo. I love that she has a sense of style that is not dictated by trends but she knows how to infuse the trends of the moment into her personal style. For the Christian Dior Fall 2013 presentation I would love to see Mrs Palermo wear this black and white color blocked Christian Dior Fall 2013 RTW dress with a houndstooth print breast plate with a bold pink or red blazer (her usual signature.) Finish the look with a pair of amazing sandals (Olivia has a shoe closet to DIE for) and a simple black Christian Dior clutch and she will continue to showcase her great street style.
