Whilst promoting ‘Nights Moves’ around the world we have seen a whole new side of Dakota Fanning. Not once have we seen a cookie cutter look that she is known for, only two beige looks (and even those were not for the premieres). I have to say the rich blues, silvers, and reds that Dakota has brought to the red carpets have been a refreshing change of pace, she has even been experimenting with different hairstyles. I am hoping that this pace continues when she takes to the red carpet at the 2013 London Film Festival. This light grey blue Jason Wu Spring 2014 RTW mermaid gown would be something that I would love to see the 19 year old actress wear. The silhouette would show off Dakota’s figure whilst being sporty and sexy and dramatic all at the same time. Finish the look with a silver Judith Leiber clutch, a pair of silver sandals, a sleek hairstyle, a pair of dazzling chandelier earrings and this dazzling look will be complete for Dakota for this red carpet.
Carey Mulligan has not worn a single color other than black, white, blush, or navy all year which is a shame because the actress can really pull off some amazing rich colors. For her premiere of ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ duirng the 2013 London Film Festival I am hoping to see Carey step out wearing a bold couture creation. This emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture gown is just the look I think that Mrs Mulligan needs to step up her red carpet game. I had high hopes for her ‘The Great Gatsby’ promo tour and was really let down so I am hoping that she will be able to redeem herself. Finish this look with a pair of emerald earrings and a pair of gold pumps and Carey will be ready to take to the London Film Festival red carpet and wow the world
Jessica Biel really has been the Best Plus One this year as Mrs Timberlake. Justin and Jess tied the knot late last year and ever since when he has a music awards show or his films premiere Jessica is always on his arm. She does know how to not steal his (or his costars) spotlights and usually chooses elegant black ensembles from designers like Tom Ford, Marchesa, and Dolce & Gabbana. For this premiere I think that this black Antonio Berardi Resort 2014 rise-fall hem gown with long lace sleeves would be the perfect option for Mrs Biel. Not only would she play the arm candy role well she would also be representing a British designer whilst taking to the red carpet. Finish the look with a simple black clutch, simple black sandals, and very simplistic diamond earrings and Jessica will shine as the worlds best wife yet again on the red carpet.
I have to applaud Sandra Bullock for taking steps out of her realm of dressing and wearing exciting looks while she has been making the rounds promoting her latest film ‘Gravity’ on the Film Festival circut. This film is giving Sandy a lot of potential Oscar buzz and she has already been announced as the recipient of the Hollywood Actress Award for the Hollywood Film Awards which will take place on October 21st. Before she takes to that red carpet though she will take to the red carpet at the London Film Festival for yet another premiere for this film following ones at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. For this premiere I am hoping that we will see a little more relaxed Sandy wearing this brown Donna Karan Spring 2014 RTW strapless printed gown. I think that Sandra is one of the few actress in Hollywood that could pull this off and after a bunch of straight up glamorous looks I think she deserves a dress that is a little more laid back. Complete this look with a bronze Roger Vivier crystal clasp clutch, a pair of bronze Jimmy Choo Sandals, and hair worn in loose waves over one shoulder and Sandra will definitely have another look that will make me fall in love.
Lea Seydoux really knows how to work a look on the red carpet, be it a standard cocktail ensemble or a drool worthy gown. During the 2013 London Film Festival Lea will be premiering two films, ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ (which you have already seen the wish for) and ‘Grand Central.’ Funnily enough back in May, Lea took to the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals during the Cannes Film Festival to premiere these two films as well. Whilst she did not take home any awards for this film, unlike ‘Blue is the Warmest Color,’ she did wear a fabulous slate blue Louis Vuitton gown for the premiere. While I loved that dress for London I can see Lea going a little more cutting edge and a lot more fashion forward. I think that this red and multi shade of pink Antonio Berardi Spring 2014 RTW color blocked gown would be the perfect choice for Lea for this premiere. As one that usually turns to red carpet regulars like Prada, Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab, and Christian Dior for her red carpet appearances I think that this would be a welcome step out of the box for her. Complete the look with a sleek slicked back hairstyle, a bold red lip, a simple pair of red satin peep toe Salvatore Ferragamo pumps, as well as a simple diamond sparklers in her hears and Lea would have a look that would rival anything on my Best Dressed of the Year list thus far.
Scarlett Johansson will take to the London Film Festival red carpet come next month for yet another premiere of her film ‘Don Jon. This is a film that has just continues to premiere. The promotional tour for this film started back at the beginning of March and has continued to make the film festival rounds at Tribeca and Toronto, as well as having a gala premiere earlier this month in New York City. The premiere during the London Film Festival just may be the final stop on the films promo tour, the film officially opens in the United States tomorrow 9/27/13. For the London Film Festival premiere of this film I am hoping that ScarJo will go back to the same stunning Tiffany blue color that she wore to the films New York City premiere. The color stays the same but the designer changes for London I would love to see Scarlett wear this amazing Tiffany blue layered coulmn Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 RTW gown. This is a slight step out of Scarlett’s normal look but I think that this classic simple silhouette that would just make her look like a classic beauty instead of a sex bomb. Finish the look with Veronica Lake waves thrown over one shoulder, a silver clutch, a pair of silver peep toe pumps, and some simple diamonds in the ears and around the wrist to complete this amazing ensemble for her London Film Festival premiere.
Lea Seydoux took home a joint Palme D’Or with her ‘Blue is the Warmest Color’ director and co-star Adèle Exarchopoulos. I have to say that Lea used to be someone that ended up on my worst dressed list a lot but this year she has really shown me why she deserves to be on my best dressed lists. In the past year she has made my best dressed list wearing the likes of Alexis Mabille, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Maxime Simons. One designer that I haven’t seen Lea in this year so far is Elie Saab and I am hoping that she grabs one of his designs for her London Film Festival premiere ‘Blue is the Warmest Color.’ This sensational emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture gown is just screaming for Lea to snatch it up and rock for this premiere. Complete the look with a black and emerald Edie Parker clutch, a pair of gold Jimmy Choo sandals, and some amazing Chopard diamond and emerald earrings and Lea will have another winning look on her hands.
Naomi Watts did not give me the looks to blow me away that I was expecting her to do during her ‘Diana’ promotional tour. For her big night in London she wore a bland wrinkled Versace white gown that she paired with boring black pumps. For the London Film Festival, I would love to see Naomi wear this draped fringe Marchesa Spring 2014 RTW cream gown for the premiere of her latest film ‘Adore’. These two have had a wonderful relationship in the past (Naomi even kind of redeemed her Versace disaster with a Marchesa dress at the ‘Diana’ premiere in Australia) and I am expecting that there will be several more wow moments in the future. I am in love with this dress, one of two gowns that I am in love with from this collection both I want to see on Naomi. Complete this look with a gold Kotur clutch, a simple pair of gold pumps, and a 20’s inspired faux wavy bob and I think that Naomi would have a winning look on her hands for the London Film Festival.
Post divorce from ex-husband Sean Penn I have to say that Robin Wright, who used to look stunning in Elie Saab, Narciso Rodriguez, and Chanel, but lately its been mostly black gowns and frumpy styles. Robin is a hot, SINGLE, woman who should be telling Sean Penn to eat his hart out but she is not. I am not going to try and be hopeful but logical with my wish for her to wear for the 2013 London Film Festival. I think that this simple black Ralph Lauren Resort 2014 sleeveless gown is perfect for the blonde pixie haired star. I am not sure what else to say. The dress is simple but pretty. I would take a cue from the runway and pair this dress with a statement making diamond cuff and add a black Edie Parker clutch and a pair of black Christian Louboutin peep toe evening pumps to complete this look and boost it from just another black gown.
Earlier this year Angelina Jolie played the role of arm candy for long time partner Brad Pitt during the promotional tour of his film ‘World War Z’ but was surprisingly absent from the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month when he premiered his newest film ’12 Years a Slave.’ I am hoping that when Brad takes to the 2013 London Film Festival to premiere ’12 Years a Slave’ that Angelina will be back on his arm. This white J. Mendel Spring 2014 RTW gown would be a simple yet very glamorous statement for Ange to make as she just stands there to look pretty on Brad’s arm. Complete this look with a pair of white pumps and simple diamond accessories and Angie will have an amazing red carpet look to support her beau.
While we were sad not to see Angelina Jolie take to the red carpet during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, Lupita Nyong’o gave us a glamorous look on the red carpet in her place. Lupita is one of the stars of ’12 Years a Slave’ and walked the red carpet at TIFF wearing a white Prada long sleeved gown with gold embroidery. I am hoping that she will continue to bring glamorous red carpet looks to the promotional tour of this film and hopefully awards season come the start of 2014. For the London Film Festival Premiere of ’12 Years a Slave’ I think that this emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture one shoulder gown would be the most amazing choice for the Kenyans second major red carpet outing. Having already garnered the attention of Miuccia Prada I am sure that any designer would be dying to give this stunning woman clothing for the red carpet. Finish the look with simple jewels and a pair of gold sandals and Lupita will have another look that I will just fall in love with on the red carpet.
As regular readers will know I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with Cate Blanchett. There is very little wrong that this woman can do in my eyes (Christian Dior disaster at the Deauville Film Festival aside.) I love that she brings a classic or futuristic regal air to every red carpet. There is a buzz that Queen Cate will be a shoe in for nominations for her Woody Allen film ‘Blue Jasmine’ come awards season which means Cate in lots of glamorous ensembles. During the 2013 New York Film Festival, Mrs. Blanchett, will be taking to the red carpet to receive a tribute from the Film Society at Lincoln Center. The very first look that Cate gave during the ‘Blue Jasmine’ promo tour was a light pink Balenciaga gown recreated from a gown that sits in the houses original archives and I am actually hoping that she will turn to the brand again for her New York Film Festival Tribute Gala. This white cocktail dress with statement cape shoulders and crisp lines is absolutely perfect for this event. Complete the look with a simple hair style, a pair of white Christian Louboutin pointed toe pumps, a red lip, and simple Van Cleef & Arpels earrings and Cate will continue to show me why I love her so much
