2014 Emmy Awards: Best Actress in a Comedy Series Nominees Wish List

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is nominated yet again in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series thanks to¬† her role as Vice President Selina Meyer in the HBO series “VEEP,” which has won her the award the past two years. Julia has swept this award each year she has been nominated and the speculation is that she will take it home yet again. I would love to see her doing so wearing this stunning royal blue Reem Acra Resort 2015 gown that features a beaded sheer lace cap sleeve bodice and a flowing chiffon skirt. I think that this is a regal, yet sexy, yet sophisticated look that we haven’t yet seen from Julia. She tends to wear her favorite designer, Narciso Rodriguez, for this event and his gowns are all starting to look the same. Especially when on the same person. A simple pair of dyed to match Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and a pair of simple diamond earrings will finish this look off perfectly, the only other accessory she would need is the Emmy itself.
For the past two years “GIRLS” star Lena Dunham has looked to Muccia Prada to create her Emmy’s gown. Her first drab blue lace gown worn for the 2012 ceremony made her look stumpy and frumpy, and last year at the 2013 ceremony the green and orange floral print gown just didn’t fit her right and the matchy makeup didn’t help. While I don’t believe that Lena will wear the short 1920’s inspired black Prada Resort 2015 cocktail dress with diamante details that is pictured I do believe that she will wear another custom Prada design. Probably one that hails from the same collection. If I were to turn this cocktail ensemble into a gown for Lena, I would remove the sheer sleeves, yoke, and embellished high neckline leaving a spaghetti strap belted dress and of course have it skim the floor with a slight train trailing right behind it. A pair of her signature black pumps, a black Prada satin box clutch, and a fresh face of natural makeup will ensure that Lena continues to learn how to look her best on the red carpet come the 2014 Emmy Awards.
Last year Best Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Taylor Schilling attended that Emmy Awards as a presenter wearing a white hot custom Thakoon gown that solidified her as a red carpet cool girl. This year though being her very first Emmy nomination, and the favorite to upset Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ winning streak, I think that the “Orange is the New Black” star will opt for something much more regal and glamorous. For that reason I have picked the ruby red Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 Couture satin draped strapless gown with a train that billows off from the side. I think that this would be the ultimate winning moment whether she takes home a trophy or not. I would pair this look with a pair of gold sandals, a dyed to match satin box clutch, and simple gold jewels to ensure that Taylor looks regal yet effortless. Also she should go light with the makeup because her face doesn’t wear it well and she ends up looking way over done. I honestly can not wait to see what Taylor will wear come the 2014 Emmy Awards on August 25th!

2014 Emmy Awards: Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Wish List

Anna Gunn has been on a red carpet roll this year wearing Donna Karan Atelier, Jenny Packham, & Monique Lhuillier for her major red carpet moments this year. As this is the last time she can receive an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series thanks to “Breaking Bad,” though she did win last year, I except Anna to wow me on the red carpet. I believe that this rich violet Marchesa Resort 2015 perfume tulle gown with an embroidered bodice. The flowing strapless look isn’t one that Anna hasn’t worked on the red carpet as of yet. Most of her looks are very structured and this should make for a glamorous red carpet moment. A dark grey Edie Parker clutch and a pair of dark grey Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals would finish this look off perfectly for Anna who is the most likely to take home the trophy.
There are only two brands that I actually like to see Christina Hendricks wearing on the red carpet, Zac Posen and Christian Siriano. I have picked a gown from the latter for Christina to wear for the 2014 Emmy Awards where her role in “Mad Men” has garnered her another Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series nomination. This back silk gown would nip in at Christina’s waist and flow out into a ball gown, which is not a silhouette that we have seen her in. I am sick and tired of seeing the same old same old on Christina. I would also have the color changed to a rich jewel tone like emerald, amethyst, or sapphire. Finish the look with a pair of gold pumps and a gold clutch would be perfect finishing touches for a perfect red carpet ensemble.
For the past few years Christine Baranski has worn a Zac Posen creation on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards and they are very much a match made in heaven. This is why I have chosen to put the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in this magnolia white Zac Posen Resort 2015 satin back crepe gown. This is a little bit more flowy than the structured gowns that she has worn for the past few years which would make for a nice change of pace. A pair of statement colored diamond earrings, a bold color clutch, and a pair of silver sandals would make the “The Good Wife” star work the red carpet in a perfect old Hollywood red carpet ensemble.

2014 Emmy Awards: Best Actress in a Drama Series Nominees Wish List

With the Primetime Emmy Awards just 2 weeks away all of the nominees are going through their fittings making sure that they are going to look their best. I am of course going to give my input on to what I believe that each lady should wear, as always. Up first is Best Actress in a Drama Series nominee Claire Danes. The “Homeland” star has been one to usually wow me but this year her looks have just been alright. I am hoping that come the Emmy’s that Claire will be back at the top of her game. I always think that Claire usually looks her best when she is wearing Armani. With that in mind I would love to see her wear this black and red Armani Prive Fall 2014 Couture sculpted peplum gown. I think that this figure hugging silhouette is perfect for this event. Not to much but not boring. Finish the look with a sleek up-do, a red lip, lined eye, a red clutch, and a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals to ensure that Claire is once again on top.
Julianna Margulies is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her work in “The Good Wife” yet again and from what I read it is a big possibility that she will bring home the trophy. With that in mind I want to see Julianna bring it to the red carpet at the 2015 Emmy Awards on the 25th. This blood red to dusty red Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ombre gown with a plunging neck would be a perfect winning ensemble. I think that Julianna works the red carpet like a pro but often she makes choices that fade into the background or things that don’t totally flatter her. This gown would give statement pictures on the red carpet and flow beautifully as she walks up to the podium to accept her award. Julianna will also be on hand as a confirmed presenter. The runway clutch, a pair of gold Christian Louboutin sandals, and a pair of gold set ruby and diamond earrings would finish this look off perfectly for the 2014 Emmy Awards.
If I had to pick a winner for the 2014 Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, I would definitely give my vote to Kerry Washington in “Scandal.” while she is considered a threat, like Julianna Margulies, to Robin Wright taking home the trophy I would jump up and down with joy if Kerry won. I would bring some of Kerry’s character, Olivia Pope, to her look which might help bring her some extra luck. White is the signature color of Mrs Pope so this white Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture strapless flowing gown with purple and white shirred detail on the bodice would make an expert choice for Kerry to make on the red carpet. Kerry kinda faltered on the red carpet during her pregnancy but since she has been back on top of her game. I might cut the shirred details back so that they are a little more subtle on Kerry. Completing this ensemble with a sleek up do, a white Edie Parker clutch, a pair of purple sandals, and a fresh face of makeup would make this look absolutely perfect for the red carpet at the 2014 Emmy Awards.
I know that Lizzy Caplan has been busy with her stylist Ilaria Urbanati picking her ensembles for Emmy’s week. I have recently come about to start loving Lizzy’s red carpet moments and I am hoping that she wins my heart yet again on the Emmy Awards red carpet. I believe that Lizzy looks her best in simple sporty type of ensemble. That is why when I was going through pictures trying to pick a gown for her I stumbled on this canary diamond colored Elie Saab Resort 2015 sleeveless gown on the left side of the picture on the right. This gown is perfect for the Emmy’s as it isn’t too much and it would fit her absolutely stunning figure. A gold clutch and a pair of gold sandals, as well as a few simple selections of canary diamonds will ensure that Lizzy rocks the Emmy red carpet.
Michelle Dockery is part of one of the most beloved series on television, “Downton Abby,” and she has received a nomination every year and has yet to take a trophy home herself. Sadly this is not going to be hear year either but I am sure that Michelle will rock the red carpet despite that fact. In the past few years she has always graced the Emmy Awards red carpet wearing a custom gown, so I figure that trend will continue again this year. While I can not pick the custom design that she might wear, as they are top secret, I can pick a gown for her to wear from the runways. This sporty ice blue Jason Wu Resort 2015 gown would look stunning on Michelle who tends to go for a more lady like ensemble. A silver Edie Parker clutch, a pair of silver sandals, and some stunning statement diamond earrings would ensure that Michelle will make this a red carpet moment perfection.
Finally I have a wish for most likely to be voted Best Actress in a Drama Series, Robin Wright. Netflix is going to really take over this year with high marks for both “Orange is the New Black” and “House of Cards.” The latter of which earned Robin her nomination. Robin has a very grown up chic covered up sense of style which is why I picked this silver Ralph Lauren Fall 2014 RTW silk gown with an attached silk train for the actress to wear. I think that Robin wears silver stunningly and I have to say that she has the height and presence to carry this gown without it dragging or looking ill fitting on her. A silver box clutch , a pair of silver peep toe pump, and a simple pair of diamond earrings that cluster close to the lobe will ensure that Robin rocks the red carpet at the 2014 Emmys.
