2015 Hollywood Film Awards Wish List Part 2

Amber Heard is among the presenters that will be in attendance at the 2015 Hollywood Film Awards tomorrow night and I have to say that I am quite interested to see what she will wear. After a year or so of looks that I really loathed I am starting to lover Amber’s red carpet choices again and tomorrow is the early kick off to the 2016 Awards Season so I am interested in seeing what she is going to wear to kick it all off. I picked this black Blumarine Spring 2016 RTW rose embellished cocktail dress that features a square neck with a bustier-style bodice, jeweled rose details that wrap around the shoulders, and a midi length a-line skirt with a draped panel at one side because I think that Amber loves a vintage inspired moment and this is such a classic dress that there is no way that she can go wrong. It is not really her night and I think that this dress is the perfect balance for a presenter. A pair of black Christian Louboutin sandals and a black Edie Parker clutch are the perfect accessories for this dress. Completed with old Hollywood waves and a red lip and Amber will be sexy as ever for this red carpet appearance.

I am not 100% certain that Jada Pinkett Smith will be on the Hollywood Film Awards red carpet tomorrow night, but since her hubby Will Smith is receiving the Hollywood Actor Award I figure she will. Jada plays the part of the perfect plus one very wall and I am quite interested to see what she will wear to support Will. Jada was front row at the Balmain Spring 2016 RTW presentation and I would love to see Jada wearing this menswear inspired sexy jumpsuit. I love the cutout sweetheart neckline and the sheer lattice panel on this jumpsuit I think it says “I am a boss woman and I am a force to be reckoned with” which is exactly what Jada is. A pair of sexy black strappy sandals, a gold clutch, the runway belt, and a red lip are all that Jada will need to ensure that she is going to kill this red carpet and support her husband in top form.

Channing Tatum is part of the Hollywood Ensemble Award winning cast of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight and wife Jena Dewan Tatum is almost always right by his side when he steps out on the red carpet and I am sure that she will be there tomorrow night at the Hollywood Film Awards. I picked this black Zuhair Murad long sleeve gown which features sheer detailing on the sequin zebra-like bodice and thigh high slit. This is a chic glamorous and sexy moment which is perfect for Jena as Channing’s plus one to this moment. What better way to show support for your husband receiving a Hollywood Film Award than to show up looking like a bombshell. Finish the look with a chic updo, a red lip, a black clutch, and a pair of black strappy sandals to really make this a bombshell red carpet ensemble.

Reese Witherspoon will be attending the Hollywood Film Awards tomorrow night as a presenter and I am excited to see what she will wear for her first big red carpet after this past awards season. I decided to go with a classic look with a twist for this red carpet. I love this 1950’s inspired Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2016 RTW cocktail dress with an abstract painterly eggplant brushstroke print which features a full skirt with triple inverted pleats at front and back and decorative buttons at shoulder straps and center back. I think that this dress is a beautiful moment and I am sure that in some capacity we will see it on a red carpet and I think that Reese would look absolutely lovely in this gown. A pair of black strappy sandals, a silver clutch, and 50’s inspired beauty would ensure that this is a perfect look for the Hollywood Film Awards red carpet.

“Brooklyn” star Saoirse Ronan is going to be honored tomorrow night at the Hollywood Film Awards with the New Hollywood Awards and I honestly can not wait to see what the edgy Irish-American actress is going to rock on the red carpet. Saoirse has a liking for edgy styles when she dresses for the red carpet with favorite brands like Lanvin, Chanel, and Proenza Schouler it is no mystery why she is one to watch when it comes to red carpet dressing. I would love to see her embrace bold color with this noir/jade J. Mendel Spring 2016 RTW blurred floral embroidered organza gown. I love the color and the draping in this gown and I know it is going to be a major moment on the red carpet when it happens and I believe that on Saoirse that this would jet to the top of best dressed lists everywhere.

2015 Hollywood Film Awards Wish List Part 1

Sunday night are the 2015 Hollywood Film Awards, the kickoff of the race to the Oscars, and I gotta say that I am extremely excited to see what all the stars will rock on the red carpet. What I love about the Hollywood Film Awards is that they announce honorees and its one of the more laid back awards shows, everyone knows who’s one and it’s basically just a gala celebrating all of the honorees. Alicia Vikander is being honored with the Hollywood Breakout Actress, which she has earned thanks to her performance in “The Danish Girl.” I have been loving almost everything that Alicia has been wearing this second half of the year and she is the only Louis Vuitton brand ambassador that I am actually enjoying seeing on the red carpet. I am wishing though that Alicia will put LV on the back burner in favor of other brands for Sunday night’s awards. I picked this this Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 RTW tea rose ensemble which includes a crepe de chine blouse and chiffon fitted evening skirt with coiled pleating details and a slightly flared hem because I think that the relaxed elegance of this gown is perfect for Alicia’s no fuss glamour. I think Alicia would definitely be giving people something to talk about while wearing this gown. A gold Louis Vuitton clutch (so that she is still representing the brand), a pair of gold Jimmy Choo sandals, and a chic upswept hairstyle would be the perfect finishing touches to keep Alicia on top form for this red carpet as she starts her Oscar campaign.

I still have very little faith that funny lady Amy Schumer will give me anything worth loving on the red carpet, she is starting to develop fashion interests but they are still in their fledgling days. With that in mind Amy will be on hand Sunday night at the Hollywood Film Awards to accept the Hollywood Comedy Award thanks to the movie “Trainwreck,” which she wrote in stared in this summer. I love Amy’s womanly curves, I just think that she hasn’t learned to dress them yet. I picked this embroidered Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2016 RTW halter neck keyhole pencil dress for Amy for this red carpet because one can never go wrong with a perfectly tailored pencil dress and the embroidery and color blocked neck make this dress anything but basic. Some might say that this look is do demure, ladylike, and proper for Amy who is known for her crude type of humor (I find her to be incredibly funny) but I think that she should explore absolutely every option when it comes to red carpet dressing to find out what is the best fit for her. Now where Amy had a great gown at the Emmy Awards ( a beautiful custom Zac Posen) her hair was a hot ass mess, and Amy you can still do a comedy routine about being a trainwreck and not always look like one. A sleek low bun and a light pink lip are the perfect beauty choices to keep that chic and elegant look that the gown is giving. Finish off with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps and a gold clutch and Amy will for sure have a beautiful moment on the Hollywood Film Awards red carpet.

I can not say how happy I am to see Carey Mulligan finally getting back to the woman that I fell in love with back in 2010 (when I named her Best Newcomer on my old blog LoveIt or HateIt.) Carey has had major moments in Chanel, Alexander McQueen, & Marc Jacobs while promoting “Suffragette” and I am hoping that Sunday night when she receives the Hollywood Actress Award for her work on the film that she keeps it up. I picked this Victorian floral Alexander McQueen Spring 2016 RTW one shoulder gown gown for Carey because of its relaxed glamour. Carey is usually very no muss no fuss when it comes to red carpet dressing and this gown I think would be a beautiful moment for the British actress on the red carpet. This collection was one of my top collections of all the Spring 2016 RTW shows and I am praying that we see a lot of it on the red carpet and what better way to kick off the race to the Academy Awards than in Alexander McQueen.

When I saw that Jane Fonda is going to be honored with the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award for her work in the film “Youth” I got very excited. Jane has not had a good run promoting this film first the disastrous Schiaparelli gown at Cannes and then the dated Yves Saint Laurent Couture at the Toronto International Film Festival and I am hoping that Sunday we will see Jane back on her top form. I decided to pick a pantsuit for Jane for this red carpet because this has been the year of the amazing trouser looks from Jane. First it was Balmain at the Grammy Awards, then Zuhair Murad Couture at the Vanity Fair Oscar Part, and then Elie Saab recently and I think that adding Atelier Versace to that mix is the only natural progression. Some of my favorite looks from Jane have been courtesy of Versace and I think that this would be no different. This Atelier Versace Spring 2014 Couture white pantsuit with silver embellishment on the jacket is something that I think Jane would rock the hell out of. I think that this suit paired with a white chiffon pussy bow blouse, a pair of silver metallic Christian Louboutin pumps, and a silver clutch would make for a killer moment for Jane on this red carpet and start off her Oscar campaign quite nicely,

2015 AFI Fest: "Macbeth" Premiere Wish List

Marion Cotillard is either killing it on the red carpet or she is a hot mess. I am hoping that with Raf Simons stepping down as the creative director of Dior that Marion will return to the woman that I fell in love with all those years ago. For the AFI Fest premiere of “Macbeth” I picked this ultra chic and modern Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture white long sleeved dress with chainmail overlay. I believe that this can be the moment that Marion needs to start her road to red carpet recovery and continually give major red carpet moments instead of making me wish for more. Finish the look with a pair of silver Jimmy Choo sandals, a white Dior clutch, sleek pulled back hair and a red lip to ensure that this look shines bright like the modern statement it is.

amfAR Inspiration Gala Los Angeles Red Carpet Wish List

Tomorrow night amfAR will honor Ryan Murphy at the Los Angeles Inspiration Gala. The stars of all of his shows and TV movies are co-chairs for this event and I am excited to see who will show up. Chloe Sevigny has been in two incarnations of Murphy’s “American Horror Story” “Asylum” and now “Hotel” and I am actually really excited to see what she will wear as Chloe has been known for her eclectic taste in fashion. I have been long enjoying watching TOME develop as brand the past few seasons and I wish stars would embrace this brand on the red carpet. I would love to see Chloe wear this TOME Spring 2016 RTW ensemble which features a black cotton wrap halter top, a black and purple taffeta and cotton ball skirt, and a pair of black silk jersey ankle tie skinny pants. This is such a complicated look that not many would be able to pull off and I think that Chloe has the edge to be able to do so. With this complicated dress I would keep the styling to a minimum; sleek hair, pink lip, black clutch, & a pair of black sandals are all that are needed to ensure that this is a winning look.

Emma Roberts has been in multiple seasons of “American Horror Story” and is a star in Ryan Murphy’s new series “Scream Queens” and is one of the co-chairs of the amfAR Inspiration Gala LA. I am interested to see what Emma will wear because she has been giving us lots of no color looks lately and I would like to see that stop, that is why I picked this cotton candy pink Badgley Mischka Spring 2016 RTW gown. This gown with it’s simple silhouette, small lace peekaboo’s, pleated skirt, and embroidery is something that I could totally picture Emma wearing as the silhouette is something that she tends to go for in a red carpet gown. Keep the sugar going with a silver glittering clutch, a pair of silver sandals, a light pink lip, and old Hollywood wave. If Emma does this I believe that this would be an absolutely amazing red carpet moment.

Gwyneth Paltrow is going to be the hostess with the mostess tomorrow night at the amfAR Inspiration Gala Los Angeles and I can not wait to see what she will be wearing. Gwyneth is no stranger to Ryan Murphy herself. The queen of GOOP was a favorite reoccurring character on “Glee” and are currently working together on getting “One Hit Wonders” off the ground. For this event I would love to see Gwenie wear this Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 RTW tea rose ensemble which includes a crepe de chine blouse and chiffon fitted evening skirt with coiled pleating details and a slightly flared hem. This almost nude pink ensemble is perfection and it is something that Gwyneth would totally wear on a red carpet, so why not for the amfAR gala? A pair of gold sandals, a gold clutch, fresh faced makeup, a sleek straight pulled back hairstyle, & a pair of Harry Winston diamond cluster earrings would be the perfect styling to ensure that Gwyneth is perfection on the red carpet.

Lady Gaga is currently giving me life as The Countess on “American Horror Story: Hotel” and I can not wait to see what she is going to be rocking when she steps out on the red carpet tomorrow night for the amfAR Inspiration Gala. Gaga has been giving us more demure looks since “AHS: Hotel” has been going, mostly thanks to her stylist turned designer Brandon Maxwell and as much I have been loving the magic that they are making on the red carpet I am hoping to see her in another label. I would KILL (no pun intended) to see Gaga wearing this nude feather and crystal embellished Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture gown, which reminds me of a 30’s dressing gown. If anyone could make this gown work off of a runway in real life it would be Gaga and I am praying that this moment actually ends up happening. A pair of gold pumps, a chic updo, and a red lip would ensure that Gaga gives us absolutely everything that we hope for from her on the red carpet.

Lea Michele is another who is no stranger to a Ryan Murphy production having stared in “Glee” and now “Scream Queens.” I have not been excited about one of Lea’s red carpet looks in a long time and I am hoping that she will give me something to talk about tomorrow night. I believe that this ocean spray blue silk crepe georgette Elie Saab Resort 2016 gown which features an a-line silhouette with a collared halter neckline and ruffle details that outline the front opening on the bodice and cascade down the side of the dress. This is a very simple gown which is exactly what I think Lea needs to be able to get back in my good graces. I honestly think that when it comes to styling that the Elie Saab Swarovski crystal embellished clutch that the gown was paired with in the look book is a perfect choice along with a pair of gold sandals, a pink lip, and a loose romantic updo to keep this look perfect for this red carpet and to help Lea have a best dressed moment.

2015 AFI Fest: "Carol" Premiere Wish List

Whilst this year Cate Blanchett has not been a disaster most of the queens red carpet looks have not been up to the incredibly high standards that she has continued to set for herself. I have not been in love with one of her looks since her black Armani Prive gown at the Cannes Film Festival. I am hoping that when she steps out for the 2015 AFI Fest premiere of “Carol” that Cate is back on form. I picked this black and white mirror embellished Marc Jacobs Resort 2016 structured “shirt” dress for her because I think that this edgy masculine meets feminine ensemble is perfect for Cate to wear for this red carpet. A sleek hairstyle, a red lip, black clutch, and a pair of black sandals will ensure that Cate is back on top form.

With Cate not being a complete favorite Rooney Mara has been consistently wowing me on the red carpet, and I am hoping that she will continue to do so at the AFI Fest premiere of “Carol.” Rooney has been sticking to her black and white box but picking interesting looks so that nothing is left to be called boring. I am surprised that Rooney has not worn a single Givenchy look so far this year and I am awaiting that moment on the red carpet. I love how Rooney’s romantic gothic style is perfectly punctuated by the soft romantic styles of Givenchy. I think that this white silk and lace Givenchy Spring 2016 RTW ensemble is a perfect look for Rooney to wear on this red carpet. Finish with a pair of silver sandals and Audrey Hepburn inspired beauty and Rooney will be perfectly poised to a major red carpet moment in one of her favorite designers.

Rita Ora for "X-Factor" UK Live Shows Wish List

I posted a wish list for “X-Factor” judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini yesterday and talked about the epic fashion battles that are sure to go down over the course of this season between her and Rita Ora. I am honestly putting my money on Rita, she will most likely be bringing more couture to the stage and I am a sucker for loving couture. Rita its, much like Cheryl, love or loathe for me when it comes to her red carpet style and I am excited yet still with slight trepidation that it will be a complete disaster. I have picked some of Rita’s favorite brands like Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Tom Ford, and Marchesa along with some of the brands I would love to see her wear during her run as a judge like Elie Saab, Cushnie et Ochs, Just Cavalli, and Ralph & Russo Couture. Rita will have the title of Best Dressed TV Personality if she takes these looks and doesn’t overcook them.

2015 AFI Fest: "The Big Short" Premiere Wish List

“The Big Short” is the closing film of the 2015 AFI Fest and I am hoping that Selena Gomez will attend and wow me. I have not been wowed by one of Selena’s looks all year and that is really sad because I thought she was going to be one that I consistently loved. When she was having a love affair with all things Versace a few years ago was when I loved everything that Selena was wearing on the red carpet and I decided that for this premiere that she should go back to that place. I think that this one shoulder crystal embellished Atelier Versace Fall 2014 Couture gown is perfect for this occasion. The sleek modern glamour of this gown makes me question why it has never been worn on a red carpet and I think that Selena would be a perfect choice to rock this gown on a red carpet. Finish the look with black crystal embellished sandals, a silver clutch, a sleek bun, and a red lip and Selena will be back on top form for the AFI Fest premiere of “The Big Short.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini for "X-Factor" UK Live Show Wish List

The “X-Factor” in the UK is known for its discovery of talent (think Leona Lewis, One Direction, & Cher Lloyd) and for the fashion of the judges. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is on the judging panel, and this year it seems like we will be seeing weekly fashion battles (a prevalent thing when Cheryl and former judge Dani Minogue was on the panel) between her and Rita Ora. I have to say that I am either love it or loathe it when it comes to Cheryl’s style and I am hoping that she gives me love it look after love it look the whole season. I have picked my choices for her based on all of the brands that she has worn in the past and who are her favorites are. I am hoping that when the show goes live this weekend that Cheryl starts off strong and keeps it rocking all season long. Balmain, Zuhair Murad, Michael Costello, Victoria Beckham, Georges Chakra, & Stephane Rolland are all brands that Cheryl loves and I think that each look that I have chosen  is well suited to making big statements on the “X-Factor” stage this season.

2015 AFI Fest: "Concussion" Premiere Wish List

Gugu Mbatha-Raw has consistently been a delight to see on the red carpet, I don’t think that I have ever disliked one of her red carpet look, and I am extremely excited to see what she will wear to the 2015 AFI Fest centerpiece gala premiere of “Concussion.” I was searching through all of Gugu’s past red carpet moments trying to pick the perfect look for her to wear for this red carpet premiere and couldn’t find anything that spoke to me but when I scrolled passed this strapless navy blue BOSS Spring 2016 RTW dress which features fringe details horizontally and vertically. I think that this modern yet very classic dress is perfect for the AFI Fest red carpet. Finish with her hair worn curly, a red lip, a navy clutch, and black sandals and this will be another winning look for Gugu.

Jada Pinkett Smith might not be in “Concussion” but she is always there to stand next to husband Will Smith looking fierce. I would love to see Jada rock her plus one duties wearing this black and white strapless Balenciaga Resort 2016 floral print embroidered cocktail dress which features a slit to there. I think that this definitely would bode well for the actress who does not look anywhere near 44. This is a sexy yet chic look perfect for a plus one. Finish the look with a sleek edgy hairstyle, neutral makeup, and a pair of black and white Givenchy sandals and this look is red carpet ready.

2015 AFI Fest: "By The Sea" Premiere Wish List

It is happening again. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are in a movie together, and guess what she directed it. I am actually quite intrigued to see what Angelina will bust out for the premiere of her latest film “By The Sea” at the opening night of the 2015 AFI Fest  on November 5, 2015. I have been mentally saving this Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture strapless sweetheart neck gown which features lavender floral embroidery on the bodice and black lattice embroidery on the skirt for Angelina since it was first presented back in January. The silhouette is classic Angie but the floral embroidery might not be. I can see her having this dress custom made to just feature the lattice work or be made in the same silhouette in all black but I think that this softer version of this dress is what Angie should wear. She can keep her normal styling of black peep toe Salvatore Ferragamo satin pump, old Hollywood waves, and neutral makeup to ensure that the dress is the statement.
