“Ghostbusters” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

kristen-wiig-ghostbusters-la-premiere-wish-list (1)The most anticipated sequel of the summer has got to be the all female re-boot of Ghostbusters. A team of brilliant comedy queens has come together and I am hoping that this will be an absolutely rolling on the floor laughing movie. The cast does not really equal a whole lot of major high fashion moments on the red carpet. One that I am expecting to bring some sort of fashion factor to the films LA premiere on Saturday July 9, 2016 is Kristen Wiig. We saw a more fashionable side of Kristen earlier this year when she took to the red carpet to promote Zoolander No. 2 and I am hoping that she will bring that same major fashion to the red carpet. This strapless cocktail dress which features draped away detail showcasing dazzling crystal embellishments would be major. I would probably swap the belt that the dress is paired with in the look book for something a little sleeker, preferably something silver and metal. A pair of sexy Christian Louboutin ‘NVPS’ black patent leather peep toe pumps which feature silver spike detail, pulled back waves, and a smokey eye would send Kristen into major high fashion territory. melissa-mccarthy-ghostbusters-la-premiere-wish-list (1)Melissa McCarthy is a hell of a comedienne but when it comes to her red carpet dressing she doesn’t usually make me take notice. I am hoping that Melissa will deliver something gorgeous on the red carpet at the Ghostbusters LA premiere. Dressing as a plus sized woman in Hollywood is difficult. There are only a handful of designers that create clothing for really curvy woman and a lot of the time the looks are always the same. For this premiere I went with this gorgeous dark purple Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2016 RTW wrap dress which features a knee length skirt, three quarter length sleeves, and embellishments on the neck and waist. The wrap dress is one of the most forgiving looks and I think that it would be absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet. Voluminous waves, a black clutch, pink lip, and a pair of black pumps are the perfect touched to finish this look for Melissa.  chris-hemsworth-ghostbusters-la-premiere-wish-list (1)So I have been looking at the Spring 2017 Menswear shows and sitting here asking myself why I don’t really pick for men on the red carpet. There are some guys that shun the standard black suit, black tie, black shoes notion of dressing and those are always the looks that I get excited about on the red carpet. I am going to make an effort that when one of these guys is going to be promoting a movie to feature them in my wish lists, because why not? Chris Hemsworth is one of those guys that likes to bring something different to the red carpet, even if it is in a classic way. I would love to see Chris take to the red carpet at the LA premiere of Ghostbusters wearing this grey Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2016 Menswear plaid suit which features a single line of double breasted buttons. I think that this suit is a modern take on the double breasted suit and that Chris would definitely able to make it work. Finishing the look with a crisp white shirt, maroon tie, and a pair of Jimmy Choo ‘Alaric’ deep cherry croc printed nubuck lace ups would really keep Chris on the Best Dressed Men list. elsa-pataky-ghostbusters-la-premiere-wish-list (1)Elsa Pataky is not a member of the cast of Ghostbusters, but is always on the arm of her husband Chris Hemsworth when he promotes a film. Usually Elsa will wear a Naeem Khan dress and since Naeem’s designs are extremely gorgeous I have no qualms about wishing for her to wear another of his looks. I would love to see Elsa hit the red carpet next Saturday wearing this gorgeous Naeem Khan Fall 2016 RTW gold beaded cocktail dress which features a rounded neckline and all over metallic beading. I think that this dress is art deco meets modernity at its best. The other standard for Elsa is that she pairs her red carpet look with a pair of killer Christian Louboutin shoes. I would love to see Elsa hit the red carpet paring this dress with a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Marlenarock’ strappy pumps, wavy updo, and a red lip to really play the gorgeous plus one role.

“The Legend of Tarzan” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

margot-robbie-legend-of-tarzan-london-premiere-wish-list (1)I have absolutely 0 interest in The Legend of Tarzan past what Margot Robbie wears on the red carpets to promote the film. I am hoping that at the films London premiere next Tuesday, in the midst of couture week, that Margot really delivers a major moment. After giving us China meets old Hollywood boudoir realness at the films LA premiere in Gucci I am expecting something really major from Margot at the London premiere. I would love to see Margot take to the red carpet wearing this black Christian Dior Spring 2016 Couture sleeveless tea length gown which features a full a-line skirt, high asymmetrical neck, and embellished details from the shoulder down an illusion back. I believe that this has the potential to be an absolutely major moment on the red carpet at this premiere. A chic updo, red lip, a pair of black sandals, and diamond cluster earrings would really send this look into slam dunk territory, showcasing Margot’s red carpet versatility.

“Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

anna-kendrick-mike-and-dave-need-wedding-dates-la-premiere-wish-list (1)Hello everyone I thank you all for sticking with me as I know I haven’t posted very often recently. I am excited to tell you that now through at least November that I will be posting every single day! Kicking off this run is my wishes for the LA premiere of “Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates” which takes place tomorrow. Anna Kendrick has been killing her red carpet choices recently and I am excited to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet. I would love to see Anna take to the red carpet wearing this gorgeous buttery yellow textured tweed Chanel Cruise 2017 cocktail dress which features a sheer embellished waist and an embellished hem. I think that this dress is so cute, chic, and flirty which makes this a perfect dress to wear for the premiere of a romantic comedy. Pairing this dress with a pair of elegant champagne Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ glitter leather sandals, chic waves over one shoulder, and a bright pink lip would really give Anna a perfect look for her summer Rom-Com premiere. aubrey-plaza-mike-and-dave-need-wedding-dates-la-premiere-wish-list (1)Aubrey Plaza has some awesome style and I feel like she often is underappreciated for her red carpet efforts. I am hoping tomorrow night that Aubrey will take the red carpet at the “Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates” premiere and really give me a killer look. I think that this Cushnie et Ochs Resort 2017 ensemble which consists of a black stretch twill peplum jacket which features a plunging neckline, corded lace-up details, and a slim fit and a black stretch cady a-line mini skirt would be a killer moment for Aubrey. This look is chic, sexy, and modern all wrapped up in one glamorous ensemble. Elevating this look would be an easy task with a bold red lip, sleek hairstyle, a solid black Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch, and a pair of oil slick black Christian Louboutin ‘Marlenarock’ strappy pumps would really send this into major moment territory.

Runway Report: Marchesa Resort 2017

runway-report-marchesa-resort-2017 (1)Marchesa has been getting better and better with each collection recently. When I finally think that they have reached a peak Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig continue to top themselves. Upon hearing that Chapman and Craig were inspired by Sharon Stone’s character Ginger McKenna in the Martin Scorsese film Casino I was a little surprised. I didn’t see the inspiration at all, until I read further that it was more the characters love of all things luxurious that inspired the Marchesa design duo. I feel like the collection is more suited to the casino’s of Monaco and the Oscar’s red carpet over the Las Vegas strip. Marchesa is always a label that starlets will be able to run to to find something that will deliver a dramatic, feminine red carpet moment. runway-report-marchesa-resort-2017 (2)There are many potential red carpet moments for women who are searching for feminine glamour. I can picture Hilary Swank, Karolina Kurkova, Miranda Kerr, Penelope Cruz, Anna Kendrick, Kaley Cuoco, Camilla Belle, Lily James, Naomi Watts, Nina Dobrev, Jaimie Alexander, Elizabeth Banks, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Olivia Palermo, Emily Ratajkowski, Dianna Agron, Diane Kruger, Lizzy Caplan, Priyanka Chopra, Alison Brie, Helen Mirren, Victoria Justice, Poppy Delevinge, Emma Stone, Katy Perry, Suki Waterhouse, Nicole Kidman, Allison Williams, Emmy Rossum, Camilla Belle, Zhang Ziyi, Sarah Hyland, Keirnan Shipka, Karlie Kloss, Petra Nemcova, Emma Watson, Jenna Dewan Tatum and more wearing this collection on the red carpet. runway-report-marchesa-resort-2017 (3)You can see all the looks that I am loving from the Resort 2017 collections, and my thoughts on who should wear some of them, over on my Pinterest page.

Runway Report: Jonathan Simkhai Resort 2017

runway-report-jonathan-simkhai-resort-2017 (1)Jonathan Simkhai has been a growing name in the New York fashion world, and his following just keeps getting bigger. Last year Jonathan took home one of the top prized from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund competition and I am really excited to see where the label is going to go with it’s future. We have already seen one look from this collection on the red carpet. Jourdan Dunn selected one of the collections white beaded gowns for the 2016 CFDA Awards. Jonathan’s creations mix edgy design with gorgeous, intricate detailing which include lace, beading, petals, and ruffles. This collection is full of potential red carpet moments. Rooney Mara, Florence Welch, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joan Smalls, Hilary Swank, Emily Ratajkowski, Beyonce, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway, Naomie Harris, Emma Roberts, Rachel McAdams, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Lea Michele, Elizabeth Banks, Demi Lovato, Kendall Jenner, Scarlett Johansson, Miranda Kerr, Cheryl Cole, Krysten Ritter, and Kate Bosworth all pop into my mind as I think of who should make calls to get this collection for the red carpet. runway-report-jonathan-simkhai-resort-2017 (2)You can see all the looks that I am loving from the Resort 2017 collections, and my thoughts on who should wear some of them, over on my Pinterest page.

Runway Report: Marc Jacobs Resort 2017

runway-report-marc-jacobs-resort-2017 (1)I got really excited when I got an email from Marc Jacobs that they were going to be live-streaming that brands Resort 2017 show. Then I got busy and forgot to log on to be able to watch. *Facepalm.* I am now kicking myself for not because this celebration of everything that 80’s hair bands represented was pure genius. Usually Marc Jacobs shows feature dramatic set and locations, in addition to dramatic clothes. It was nice to see the dramatic clothes in a stripped down raw space. Sometimes with all the drama in Marc Jacobs productions it becomes difficult to strip back the styling to see what the looks are made of. I am loving the jackets, sweaters, glittered boots, bold prints, denim, bold colors, metallics , and tulle that all put together made for some really awesome looks. It will be interesting to see what looks from this collection will make the jump from runway to red carpet. It is going to take a bold woman to make any of the looks from this collection work on the red carpet.runway-report-marc-jacobs-resort-2017 (2)Some of the women that I can picture wearing this collection on the red carpet include Elizabeth Banks, Marion Cotillard, Hailee Steinfeld, Zendaya, Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Wilde, Rihanna, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Chastain, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Cate Blanchett, Alicia Vikander, Chloe Grace Moretz, Kirsten Dunst, Kerry Washington, Anna Kendrick, Diane Kruger. runway-report-marc-jacobs-resort-2017 (3)You can see all the looks that I am loving from the Resort 2017 collections, and my thoughts on who should wear some of them, over on my Pinterest page.

Runway Report: Zac Posen Resort 2017

runway-report-zac-posen-resort-2017 (1)After his last few collections being a little questionable to me, Zac Posen was back to the glamour that I love with his Resort 2017 collection. The dramatic Charles James-ian style glamour has always been signature Posen look and while he has been experimenting with with other looks these are the looks that I long to see from Zac. Some will see reinventions of previous looks in this collection, and I can’t fault him for bringing go-to style back every few collections. The red carpet potential can lead from the Oscars to the Teen Choice Awards with a span of age groups as it’s wearers. What really got me excited about this collection were the videos that Zac posted on his Instagram account of Anna Cleveland shooting the looks, working them to their full potential. I really got to see how well the two most dramatic looks (the blue sculpted mermaid gown and the red silk taffeta ballgown) moved, allowing me to open my mind even further to their red carpet moments. I think that the look that I am most looking forward to seeing on the red carpet is the origami style lace embellished organza gown (seen center above,) which I would love to see Emma Watson wear on the red carpet. runway-report-zac-posen-resort-2017 (2)Other stars I would love to see wearing this Zac Posen collection on the red carpet include Dakota Fanning, Diane Kruger, Rihanna, Kate Mara, Saoirse Ronan, Dita Von Teese, Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Olsen, Jada Pinkett Smith, Elizabeth Banks, Crystal Renn, Meryl Streep, Alicia Vikander, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Lupita Nyong’o, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Michelle Obama, Elle Fanning, Emmy Rossum, Cindy Bruna, Katie Holmes, Viola Davis, Uzo Aduba, Gina Rodriguez and more.runway-report-zac-posen-resort-2017 (3)You can see all the looks I am loving from all the Resort 2017 collections, and some ideas of who I would like to wear certain looks, over on my Pinterest page.

Runway Report: Fendi Resort 2017

runway-report-fendi-resort-2017 (1)Fendi is one of those brands that I either I love it or hate it. As I flipped through the lookbook of the Fendi Resort 2017 I have to say that Karl Lagerfeld is on fire. While he might not stage the big destination runway experiences that he does with Chanel or that Dior, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton do for Resort, but that doesn’t take away from the gorgeousness of the collection. In a palate of red, black, white, blue, yellow, and green this collection reads more things woman want to wear, and thus purchase, that clothing to ogle and fawn over it’s different. That is what resort was established on. The resort season used to be something that labels showed that strayed away from theatrics to just show clothes that women want to wear. This collection will have it’s red carpet moments, mostly at casual events and for press appearances and I can’t wait to see what will happen with this collection. runway-report-fendi-resort-2017 (2)I have a smaller idea of who should wear this collection just because I see this more as a collection that women will buy than make for major red carpet moments. Olivia Palermo, Carey Mulligan, Cate Blanchett, Kiernan Shipka, Lupita Nyong’o, Jessica Chastain, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, and Dianna Agron are all people that I can see bringing this brand to life on the red carpet.

You can check out all my favorite looks, and who should wear some of them, over on my Pinterest page.

Runway Report: Roberto Cavalli Resort 2017

runway-report-roberto-cavalli-resort-2017 (1)After getting off to a bit of a rocky start for me I am starting to get excited about Peter Dundas at Roberto Cavalli. I think it was all the amazing gowns he has created recently for the Cannes Film Festival and Met Gala. In fact Bella Hadid and Naomi Campbell both got the privilege of wearing this collection on those red carpets respectively before the looks were even released. Those gowns were the more glamorous side of this collections. Most of the looks were fixated on a bohemian, 70’s disco, hippie queen. It is almost sensory overload scouring through this collection. From the different floral prints and embroideries to the fringes and abstract ikat and tribal prints, and of course the signature Cavalli leopard I didn’t know where to start looking first. I think that we are finally going to see, and already have started to, the return of the glamorous side of Cavalli return to the red carpet. runway-report-roberto-cavalli-resort-2017 (2)I can picture a whole host of stars including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jada Pinkett Smith, Nicole Richie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sienna Miller, Beyonce, Olivia Palermo, Eva Herzigova, Juliette Binoche, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Bella Hadid, Florence Welch, Ciara, Naomi Campbell, Natasha Poly, Alicia Vikander, Chanel Iman, Zendaya, Diane Kruger, Elizabeth Banks, Kendall Jenner, Poppy Delevinge, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba and more wearing this collection on the red carpet and incorporated into their personal wardrobes. I think that the versatility of this collection speaks to the wide range of events that this collection could be worn at from press junkets to film festival premiere red carpets there are so many moments just waiting to happen. runway-report-roberto-cavalli-resort-2017 (3)You can follow along with all the looks that I am loving from the Resort 2017 collections and much more over on my Pinterest page and you can currently pre-order the Roberto Cavalli Resort 2017 collection on Moda Operandi!

2016 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

We are officially on the countdown to the 2016 Tony Awards which are set to take place at the Beacon Theater tomorrow night. A whole host of glamorous women are set to take to the red carpet. I have already posted most of my Tony Awards wish lists, today being the final round. The always gorgeous Claire Danes has been slated to be one of the presenters at the Tony’s tomorrow night and when I saw that I got very excited. Claire has been making great fashion choices recently and I am praying that continues through tomorrow night. I would die of Claire took to the Tony red carpet wearing this Armani Prive Spring 2016 RTW strapless gown which features a black sequined bustier and a full mauve skirt with a hand painted detailing overlaid with black tulle and sequined stripes. I am really shocked that not more of the Armani Prive Spring 2016 Couture collection hasn’t been worn thus far. I would remove the wide black belt that this gown was paired with on the runway. I think that while on some it would make this look edgier, that on Claire I would want this gown to be more elegant than edgy. Pairing this look with a chic updo, smokey eye, diamond drop earrings, light pink lip, and a pair of black sandals would really ensure that Claire shuts the Tony Awards red carpet down with this look. diane-lane-2016-tony-awards-wish-list (1)I either absolutely adore what Diane Lane wears on the red carpet or she fades into the background. I am hoping that tomorrow night at the 2016 Tony Awards, where Diane is a presenter, that she will give me something that I adore. I believe that this gold Marchesa Pre-Fall 2016 bustier column gown which is covered in black beaded tulle lace with a scalloped square neckline, a fitted bodice, and tiered ruffles along the skirt would be absolutely jaw-droppingly glamorous. I can’t remember a red carpet moment from Diane in the past that was a real femme fatale moment and I think that this would be that type of moment. I would go with that 40’s style with a vintage inspired updo, a black Marchesa ‘Iris’ stingray clutch, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Lace’ pumps, a red lip, and yellow gold set diamond cluster earrings to really embrace the femme fatale glamour of this look.lucy-liu-2016-tony-awards-wish-list (1)I have to say that I got excited when I saw that Lucy Liu is going to be one of the presenters at the Tony Awards tomorrow night. Her last two Tony Awards looks were absolutely amazing with pink Marchesa in 2010 and black and ivory Vivienne Westwood Couture in 2014. I am hoping that she lives up to, and maybe, exceeds my expectations this year. While I would love to see Lucy bring couture to the red carpet I went with something something a little more dramatic from the Resort 2017 collections with this print on print Monse draped black and white gown. I Think that Lucy would take this gown and make it work on the red carpet with such ease. I know it is a bit daring for the Tony Awards, but why not? I always say go big or home. Keeping the monochromatic glamour of the look going with a black acrylic Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of black satin Jimmy Choo ‘Pearl’ platform sandals, red lip, a diamond drop earrings, and a dazzling diamond cuff bracelet to finish this look perfectly.   sara-bareilles-2016-tony-awards-wish-list (1)And last but not least I have a wish for singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, who is not only nominated for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre but will also be performing with the cast of her Best Musical nominated show Waitress. I can hear Sara’s style of music in the soundtrack of Waitress and I am very excited to see what she is going to bring to the Tony Awards tomorrow night. I would love to see Sara have a princess moment on the Tony red carpet wearing this black Georges Hobeika Fall 2016 RTW tulle ballgown which features a plunging neckline and multicolored floral embroidery. I think that this classically girly gown would be perfect for the Tony Awards red carpet. Finishing with a pair of black pumps, chic updo, and a pink lip would deliver Sara with a gorgeous red carpet moment on her big nominated night.
