2016 New York Film Festival: “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Kristen Stewart is going to be all over the festival season this fall. From Toronto, which hopefully she won’t skip, she will head to New York where she has 3 films to promote on top of being the focus of one of the New York Film Festival’s special panels. While Kristen and Chanel are a great match I am hoping that we see some variety over the course of the festival season. For the New York Film Festival special gala premiere of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk I would really love to see, and I actually mean I would really love to see Kristen, hit the red carpet wearing this amazing short silver Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 crinkled silk cocktail dress. I think that this dress (which Alicia Vikander has worn a gown version of) is modern and edgy while still maintaining high fashion glamour, which will make for a perfect look for Kirsten. Keeping the styling very simple and chic I would add just a simple pair of silver sandals, a smokey eye, and a chic updo to really punctuate this as a killer look for Kirsten.

2016 New York Film Festival: “20th Century Women” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Now that we have past my wishes for the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival are over it is time to move on to the next major festival, the 2016 New York Film Festival. As film fests go NYFF is usually more of a cocktail style event than big couture gowns. This years edition kicks off in one month on September 30, just after New York Fashion Week. I figure that a lot of my wishes between now and the end of NYFW that a lot of my wishes for the Fall 2016 RTW collections will go to the wayside. On October 8, we will see the stars of 20th Century Women hit the red carpet to premire the film. It has been a real hot minute since we have last seen Annette Bening really grace a major red carpet so I don’t know what she will bring to the red carpet, or if she will even step out. If she does I think that this white Escasda Fall 2016 RTW suit which features a scarf like neckline could be a really great look for Annette. I would add a chic matching white shell top because I don’t think that Annette would go topless under the suit like the runway. Finishing with a pair of chic white pumps, red lip, and classic bob and Annette will be poised for a great red carpet return. Elle Fanning is the member of the cast of 20th Century Women that I am most excited to see on the red carpet. This year Elle has gone from one of my least favorites to see on the red carpet and I am only more excited to continue to watch her grow. Elle and Chanel have always worked very well with each other and I think that for this premiere that this white Chanel Fall 2016 Couture halter dress which features sea foam tweed embellishments is perfect for this premiere. While some may think that this type of couture is too much for NYFF I think that Elle has the grace and glamour to really make it work. A chic low bun, a soft pink lip, and a pair of simple gold sandals are all that are needed to finish this look perfectly for Elle. Greta Gerwig falters back and forth with me with whether or not I like her red carpet style. I still remember the first time I saw Greta on a red carpet. She was wearing a gorgeous emerald green Prabal Gurung gown at the 2012 Met Gala. Since then Greta has gone back and forth with her red carpet styles, usually not being favorable in my opinion. Hoping for some red carpet magic I decided to go for this indigo blue Carolina Herrera Resort 2017 dress rendered in silk and features a strapless neckline with a deep v front and a low cut back, floral embroidery, and a full midi skirt. I think that this dress would be absolute magic on the back of Greta really giving her a look that will make me take notice, and in a really positive manner. A pair of silver sandals, a chic bob, matching indigo clutch, and a red lip would really make this a major moment for Greta. A modern Audrey Hepburn moment.

2016 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 12

My wishes for the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival will come to an end today. I was originally going to end at the start of my VMA’s wishes, but then they added a whole slate of new films filled with some of my favorite red carpet ladies and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give some of them yet another wish. Cate Blanchett was one of the major factors in that decision. The gorgeous queen of the red carpet is slated to premiere the documentary Voyage of Time, which she narrates alongside of Brad Pitt at TIFF. Cate has been faltering back and forth between looks I love and looks that I just withstand so far this year and I am hoping that when she is out promoting Voyage of Time that she really pulls out all the stops. For the Venice Film Festival premiere of this documentary I picked a gorgeously glam Armani Prive ball gown for Cate to wear, so I went with something a little more high fashion and impact making for TIFF. This amazing multicolored embroidered lace Alexander McQueen Resort 2017 gown which mixes 70s boho and Victoriana in such a modern way that I am super excited to see what it is going to turn out on the red carpet. Cate is one that I think that the grace and edge to make this look a real winner on the red carpet. A black McQueen clutch, black peep toe pumps, a chic wavy bob, light pink lip, diamond drop earrings, and a smokey eye would make my heart explode as this would probably be one of Cate’s best red carpet looks ever.While I may not be Emily VanCamp’s biggest fan when it comes to her red carpet style she has had some pretty good moments in the past. She has not given me a major jaw dropping moment yet, but I think it could still happen. I would love to see Emily hit the red carpet at the TIFF premiere of Boundaries wearing the first couture collection from her go to designer J. Mendel. I am anxiously awaiting the first red carpet moment form the J. Mendel Fall 2016 Couture collection and while Emily might not be the first person to come to mind I think that this black gown which features cold shoulder and all over sheer embroidery0 would be one of her best red carpet looks ever. This very standard style of gown is elevated with all of it’s intricate embroidery which I think would help elevate Emily’s red carpet style. A sleek hairstyle, smokey eye, black clutch & black sandals would really bring this look together perfectly for Emily to rock on the TIFF red carpet.Kristen Stewart is literally going to be EVERYWHERE over the course of the fall film festival season. I am hoping that Kristen will hit a stride with some killer looks over the course of the next few months. I have lost count of how many films that Kristen is going to be presenting at TIFF but the last one that I have a wish for is Certain Women. After for sure wearing Chanel at the premiere of Personal Shopper I am hoping that Kristen ventures away from the French couture house and shows us some variety on the TIFF red carpet. I think I would actually die if KStew showed up on the red carpet at the Certain Women premiere wearing this absolutely amazing Altuzarra Resort 2017 rust and black ensemble which features an asymmetrical black silk top and a pair of rust beaded sheer pants. This is the type of look that I think could mesh Kristen’s rock and roll persona and high fashion. I am hoping that Kristen finally gets rid of that terrible blonde hair with the worst roots, which is what she wanted, because that has been the downfall of many of her red carpet looks this year. A pair of black Christian Louboutin pointed toe pumps, a black Chanel clutch, edgy hairstyle, smokey eye, and red lip would perfectly finish this look off for Kristen. I was super excited to see that Naomie Harris is going to be at TIFF to premiere her latest film Moonlight. I have been following Naomie since she first came on the scene as Moneypenny in the James Bond film Skyfall since then Naomie has really become a red carpet fashionista and her looks only continue to get better so I have high expectations for her at TIFF. I would love for Naomie to be the first to get her hands on Lanvin Resort 2017, the first collection designed by the labels new creative director Bouchra Jarrar. I think that Naomie would look incredibly gorgeous in this black Lanvin Resort 2016 gown which feature fall colored floral embroidery on a chiffon batwing blouse. Usually Naomie goes for modern glam looks so this very 30’s style gown would be an amazing change of pace for Naomie. A chic vintage inspired updo, nude lip, gold clutch, diamond drop earrings set in yellow gold, and a pair of black sandals would really set this look over the edge. When she first burst onto the scene a few years ago Rebecca Hall was one that I couldn’t get enough of, but recently I have been less than enthused by her red carpet styles. I am hoping that returning to Toronto will bring back some of that magic that she had when she was out promoting The Town. At the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival Rebecca is expected to promote her latest film Christine. After a lot of blah looks I think that it is going to take a really major look for me to really care what Rebecca shows up wearing. This navy Schiaparelli Fall 2016 RTW one shoulder origami draped cocktail dress which features a crystal embellished bug broach detail. I think that this would put Rebecca back on the track of being high fashion. A classic but modern and slightly edgy style to help put her back in my good graces. A pair of gold sandals, a chic romantic wavy bob & a pink lip would really make this an A+ look. I had to save the most outrageous title of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival for last. Two Lovers and a Bear has got to be one of the craziest titles that I have every heard of. I am hoping that the red carpet will be good. We have seen very little of Tatiana Maslany on the red carpet before and I am hoping we still get a change to know her a little more. I have learned that Tatiana has more of a tom boy style so I kept that in mind when picking a look for her to wear for the films TIFF premiere. I mixed tom boy with high glam with this Monique Lhuillier Resort 2017 ensemble which features a black and white strapless peplum bodice which features all over floral embroidery and tulle train and a pair of black high waisted straight leg pants. I think that Tatiana would look absolutely amazing on the TIFF red carpet in this look. It meshes her comfort zone while also stepping out of the box at the same time. I would take a cue from the lookbook styling and pair this look with a statement pair of sandals in any bold color. Finishing with a sleek ponytail, a pink lip (for all shoe colors except red where I would opt for nude and a light smokey eye,) and a black clutch would really make this a stand out look for Tatiana.

2016 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 11

The 2016 Toronto International Film Festival is just 11 days away. We are in for a glamour filled 10 days of star studded fashion. I have such a high sense of anticipation for so many stars but I think that Brie Larson is amongst my the ones that I am most excited to see. The newly reddish brunette actress is set to premiere her latest film Free Fire. Brie was the breakout star of awards season with some really amazing custom and couture looks. For her TIFF premiere I am praying that Brie really delivers a major look on the red carpet. This Versace Resort 2017 gown which features some gorgeous abstract embroidery would be amazing on Brie, whom totally rocks the more sporty side of glamour. In a perfect world chic old Hollywood waves, a light pink lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black sandals would be how Brie would bring this gown to life on the red carpet.We are going to be seeing a lot of Kristen Stewart on the red carpet over the next couple of months. I am praying that her style is on point, and that she finally fixes that fugly hair. Personal Shopper started its journey at the Cannes Film Festival and it is going to make a bunch of stops over the course of the next few months. Chanel is one of the sponsors of this film so I am sure that Kristen will be decked out in the brand on the red carpet at the films premiere. Kristen has worn so many looks from the Chanel Fall 2016 RTW collection, but their is only one look that I have been looking for Kristen to wear that she hasn’t. This black gown which features sheer bell sleeves and some gold beaded chain embellishments on the waist and arms as been one look that I am praying that Kristen gets her hands on. Most of the Cruise 2017 and Fall 2016 Couture collection felt to froufy for Kristen, but this is the perfect mix of classic Chanel and Kristen’s edge. A sleek hairstyle, a red lip, and a pair of black sandals would round this look out perfectly to ensure that Kristen has a very major moment on the TIFF red carpet. Last year when Lily James burst onto the scene with the promo tour for Cinderella I immediately fell in love. Since then the British actress has kinda let me down. I am hoping that with her new role as the face of Burberry’s new fragrance that Lily has a new found sense of red carpet style. This year at the Toronto International Film Festival we are expecting to see Lily hit the red carpet at the premiere of her latest film The Exception. With her new role as a face of Burberry I would imagine that Lily will get to wear another of the much hushed Burberry September 2016 see now buy now collection that will be presented at London Fashion Week, which takes place the day after TIFF closes. Since I really have no idea what the collection contains I went with something that I think Lily would be adorable in. I love it when Lily goes full feminine glam on the red carpet, like a modern Audrey Hepburn and this red Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Fall 2016 tiered cocktail dress would be another of those moments. I might have rolled by eyes at this a year ago during the Cinderella tour because I was ultimately fatigued by all the princess references in her looks but I do think that this is the perfect look to really add a spicy Latin flair to that princess style. I would style this look with chic old Hollywood waves, a pair of dazzling diamond drop earrings, a light pink lip, and a pair of simple black sandals to really drive home the elegance of this look. I am really excited that Natalie Portman is back on the scene this fall with two films making the rounds at the fall film festivals. I am praying that in the transition from the in house team at Dior to Maria Grazia Chiuri as creative director that the houses spokes models are given a chance to explore their sartorial style. I miss the days when Natalie was a Dior girl and all that meant was that something on her person was always Dior, not the label head to toe. I don’t think that has worked for the label since Raf came on board in 2012. For the TIFF premiere of Jackie I am really looking forward to seeing what Natalie will bring to the red carpet. I decided to go with a very fun look for Natalie with this rainbow Schiaparelli Fall 2016 Couture strapless tea length gown. Natalie has always had a pension for abstract looks favoring labels like Rodarte, Givenchy Couture, Viktor & Rolf, Giambattista Valli, and Lanvin prior to her days as a Dior girl. I think that this would be one of those statement making looks and I think that Natalie has the perfect grace and elegance to make this look come off as effortless on the red carpet at the Jackie premiere. Keeping the styling very elegant with a black Dior box clutch, a chic updo, light pink lip, smokey eye, simple diamond drop earrings, and simple pink sandals would really ensure that this is one of Natalie’s best red carpet looks EVER. Sophie Nelisse has been an actress to watch since she first hit the film scene in 2013 when she stared in The Book Thief. Since then Sophie has had a gradual climb in Hollywood star status, but also in her fashion choices. I am hoping that at the TIFF premiere of her latest project Mean Dreams that Sophie really starts to let her fashion flag shine. I think that Sophie would be absolutely adorable in this violet purple Marchesa Resort 2016 feathered gown which features a v-neckline, short sleeves, and a high-low hem skirt. I think that this is a perfect look for a 16 year old actress to wear on the red carpet as it is fun, youthful, glam and edgy all at the same time. At 16 you can have a lot of fun with fashion and what is more fun that feathers? Many have criticized Marchesa for making their looks way too complicated and over designed. I love the drama of Marchesa designs and there is such a wide range of women who can make them work on the red carpet. Finishing this look for Sophie would take a chic updo, soft pink glossy lip, dyed to match Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, and diamond cluster earrings. I got really excited when I saw that The Bad Batch was selected to be apart of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. Suki Waterhouse has always been one that I usually love on the red carpet (though so silver silk pajamas that she wore were terrible) and I am praying that she really brings it to her red carpet premieres. Like Lily I would probably bet that Suki will most likely take advantage of wearing a look from that yet to be presented September collection. But since Lily is the current face I would also think that they might reserve that right exclusively for her. I would really love to see Suki hit the TIFF red carpet wearing this gorgeous burnt clay Nina Ricci Resort 2017 asymmetrical midi dress which features an asymmetrical ruffle on the neckline and a gorgeous circular print. Some might say that this dress is too casual for a film festival premiere but I believe that with the right styling that it would be more than perfect for this occasion. A pair of glittering gold Miu Miu platform sandals, a gold Edie Parker glitter clutch, pulled back loose waves, and a bold red lip would make this a major moment for Suki, and perfectly appropriate for a TIFF premiere red carpet.

2016 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

Well after today I am done grasping at straws for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. MTV has been really tight lipped in the lead up to this years awards show that I wonder what is going to happen. I have heard that the rumored appearance of Lady Gaga is just that a rumor and she will not be presenting or performing at the VMA’s. I don’t know if Bella Hadid will be in New York City at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night, but I am praying that she is since her boyfriend The Weekend is nominated for several awards. Bella has been one of my favorite of the “Instagram models” generation because she isn’t one that tries to be everywhere. Bella has only continued to grow with her red carpet looks since I kinda feel like I really learned who she was at the Grammy Awards when she wowed on Abel’s arm in Alexandre Vauthier. For the VMA’s tomorrow night I picked another sexy black gown for Bella to wear. This gorgeous black Atelier Versace Fall 2016 Couture beaded gown which features a daring plunging neckline and a sexy leg split would be a great choice for Bella, who shuns the boobs or leg option often. I would really love it if Bella hit the red carpet at the VMA’s wearing the runways lavender and red coat just because it would make it a true stand out look. A strappy pair of black sandals, diamond drop earrings, a sleek pony tail, and a red lip would add all of the perfect finishing touches to this red carpet look. You have to know I was desperate for content for tomorrow’s VMA’s when I decided to add Kim Kardashian to my wish list. I almost never feature the reality star on this site anymore because she became really obnoxious and a little too in your face. So I begrudgingly decided I was going to put up a Kim K wish despite my true feelings on her. I can almost guarantee that Kim will show up wearing something custom from Balmain and it may or may not be anything that I ever care about. Picking from the runways I didn’t see anything that I would really care to see Kim ruin, I mean wear, on the red carpet. I do think that she would be chic in this white Cushnie Et Ochs Fall 2016 RTW draped long sleeve cocktail dress, but chic isn’t usually something that comes to mind when I think of Kim. I know she would do some pin straight locks, a smokey eye, red lip, and add some statement Guiseppe Zanotti sandals to this look, but I still don’t know if it would be enough.
Last but not least I have a wish for Rihanna to wear for the press room of the VMA’s. I feel like we are going to get a bunch of great looks out of Rihanna tomorrow night. She always knows how to slay her sartorial style and her red carpet game is always really strong. For the press room after her Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award acceptance (and possibly others) I would love to see RiRi hit the step and repeat wearing this amazing black and gold Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2016 Couture spaghetti strap slip gown as it has that classic glamour but to it but I think Rihanna would give it the right amount of sass and edge to really make this a killer statement look. A pair of strappy black or gold sandals and some killer edgy hair and makeup would ensure that Rihanna is the queen of the night.

2016 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

We are getting real close to the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards which are Sunday night. MTV has been real tight lipped with the performers and presenters but we have heard about some of them. Alicia Keys is set to be one of the evenings presenters. For her past two public appearances, at the BET Awards and the Democratic National Convention, Alicia has gone with head scarves and little to no makeup. It is refreshing to see that Alicia is trying to be real when stars are under immense pressure to look like a porcelain doll. I love it and wonder if she will keep it up at the VMA’s where there really aren’t rules. I would love to see Alicia Keys hit the red carpet at the VMA’s wearing this electric blue David Koma Fall 2016 RTW one shoulder jumpsuit. Alicia is always one that kills it in the fashion department and I am expecting it to be the same at the VMA’s and this would really do it. A silver headscarf, little to know makeup, and a pair of silver pumps would really set Alicia apart from the crowd at the VMA’s.Halsey has been a bit of a fashion chameleon since she burst on the scene. Going from Audrey Hepburn to modern menswear to full on princess and for the VMA’s on Sunday night I decided to go punk princess for Halsey. I have been waiting for the right person, and a music awards show to finally get to feature this amazing black and white patchwork polka dot Marc Jacobs Fall 2016 RTW tulle trapeze style cocktail dress. Halsey is now a blonde and I think that this dress would just add to her red carpet repertoire. A pair of strappy sandals, a red lip, and a edgy ear cuff would make this an absolutely perfect red carpet moment for the rising pop star who is slated to perform on Sunday.Nicki Minaj has been slated to perform with, and sit next to, Ariana Grande at the 2016 MTV VMA’s on Sunday. Nicki has totally hit her stride with her fashion choices going high glam with edgy details. I loved her edgy bondage inspired Moschino gown which she wore to the Met Gala earlier this year. It was a perfect example of a gown which was classic but with that edgy modern twist. I think that for the red carpet at the VMA’s that this strapless army green Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2016 Couture sheer mermaid gown which features an embellished camo bodice would be that classic glam with an edgy twist. This gown is very standard in its silhouette but the camo embellishments would make this that statement look. I saw this gown on the runway back in July and said ooooooooo the moment I saw Bella Hadid work it down the catwalk. From that moment I said this gown will for sure be on the red carpet at one of the big music awards shows and Nicki at the VMA’s would be the perfect platform for this absolutely stunning creation. As I mentioned yesterday Rihanna is going to be receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMA’s on Sunday. I am expecting that Rihanna will have multiple costume changes over the night. I picked Elie Saab Couture for her red carpet appearance, then she has the look she will perform in, and I expect at least one or two more looks to round out the night. I would imagine that Rihanna will also change once just to sit in her seat at Madison Square Garden and one more time for her time in the press room after accepting her award. For her inside costume change to enjoy the show I went with Atelier Versace. Rihanna has never actually worn Atelier Versace on the red carpet but I think it is time that changes. The sporty, 90’s inspired glamour of the Atelier Versace Fall 2016 Couture collection is something that I think would work perfectly with Rihanna’s red carpet ascetic. This powder blue spaghetti strap mini dress which features ruby scarf style draping would be such a glam statement just for the inside of the show. A pair of red sandals, wavy bob, and red lip would make this a perfect red carpet look to be a spectator, and could easily transition into the perfect after-party look. Rita Ora has been consistently KILLING it with her red carpet look in addition to all the looks she has been spotted wearing while filming the reboot of America’s Next Top Model. I was hoping that Rita would be one that is in attendance at the VMA’s since ANTM is filming in NYC where this years show is being held. My prayers were answered when MTV announced that Rita would be among the presenters at the VMA’s on Sunday. I have been waiting for someone who would be perfect to wear this Ralph & Russo Fall 2016 Couture ensemble which meshes high glamour couture and streetwear perfectly. Rita usually sticks to the motto of go big or go home and this would definitely be going big. The styling of this look would be the key. I would have Rita style her hair in a sleek high pony tail, a smokey eye, light pink lip, a pair of diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of matching strappy sandals to really ensure that Rita absolutely slays the red carpet on Sunday.

2016 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

Ariana Grande is trying to loose her sweet girl image going with some more edgy looks recently. I haven’t been buying it for the most part but I am glad that she seems to be stepping away from the sugary sweet looks because they always made her look way younger than she actually is. With several nominations under her belt this year I am sure that Ariana will be on the carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. To continue with her red carpet reinvention I would love to see Ariana hit the red carpet wearing this floral and leather Fausto Puglisi Resort 2017 mini skater dress. I think that while this is a pretty standard cocktail dress silhouette the mix of the patchwork floral prints and the pleated leather panel make this a look perfect for the red carpet on Ariana. I would love to see Ariana style this look right with a tight bun, a dark red lip, and a pair of strappy black sandals to really push this look over the threshold into one of her best red carpet looks ever. All eyes will be on what Britney Spears wears on the red carpet at the VMA’s this Sunday. Not because it is going to be the most out there or the best dressed but because she has announced that she will auction the dress off after the show to help in relief efforts for flood victims in her home state of Louisiana. Britney has never been one that I really have ever liked what she has worn on the red carpet but I do hope that she really delivers something that a lot of people will bid on since it will be donated to such a great cause. I think that this strapless Dany Atrache Fall 2016 Couture cocktail dress which reminds me of flappers and circus performers is something that is right up Britney’s ally. I am kinda over seeing Brit in lingerie inspired looks as I am really fatigued at the less is more trend and this would just be something chic and fun. A pair of black sandals, full waves, and a red lip would make sure that Britney has a look that doesn’t land her on the Worst Dressed list for the red carpet at the VMAs.Fergie has been off the red carpet scene for a while but her song “M.I.L.F. $” is nominated for Best Art Direction and Best Editing so I am hoping that she will make an appearance at the VMA’s this weekend. I was trying to find the perfect look for Fergie to rock on the red carpet and I looked at all the usual suspects from Cavalli to Moschino to Balmain but it was this red On Aura Tout Vu Fall 2016 Couture cocktail dress with a dramatic train and spike detailed one shoulder that really screamed Fergie the moment I saw it. I love finding new labels to feature because covering the same Gucci, Dior, Elie Saab, Valentino looks all get boring sometimes. I saw this collection and thought this would be perfect for wishes for music awards and then Fergie was nominated for the VMA’s and I just found it a perfect match. A sleek updo, smokey eye, and a pair of statement gold Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Belle” crystal embellished sandals would really finish this look perfectly for a music awards show red carpet. I am really hoping that Breakthrough Long Form Video and Best Choreography nominated Florence Welch will hit the red carpet at the MTV VMA’s this weekend. I always love the bohemian glamour that Flo brings to the red carpet and her current partnership with Gucci is a match made in heaven. Usually on this site you see me bemoan brand ambassadors that exclusively wear the label they represent on the red carpet, but I think that Florence could be on a red carpet in Gucci every week and I would not be bored of her. For the VMA’s I would love to see Flo hit the red carpet in this black tulle Gucci Resort 2017 sheer French regency style gown which features a scoop neck, puffed sleeves, and the new Gucci signature snake embroidered on the bodice. Instead of the 70’s inspiration that we have mostly seen Flo rock on the red carpet this year this gown takes inspiration from a bygone era that we don’t see referenced in fashion very much. I think that if anyone could make this dress really shine on the red carpet it will be Flo. A pair of black Gucci knotted sandals, a bohemian updo, diamond cluster earrings, and a red lip would jet Florence to the top of my best dressed list. Rounding out the nominees is Rihanna, who on top of scoring 4 nominations for her songs Work and This Is What You Came For is going to be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award following in the footsteps of Kanye, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, U2, Janet Jackson, Madonna, David Bowie, and The Beatles. Rihanna is slated to perform a melody of her hit songs prior to accepting her award. I would love to see Rihanna hit the red carpet at the VMA’s prior to her performance wearing this black Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture fit to flare sheer gown which features a black body suit, firework beading and a feathered hem. This is a really glam look for the VMA’s but I say that if you are the nights guest of honor then you better go big or go home. I imagine that there will be a couple of outfit changes in store for RiRi on Sunday but I think that this is perfection for the red carpet part of the evening. Going full glam with the styling including a pair of dazzling yellow gold diamond drop earrings, a pair of black sandals, chic updo, and red lip would really make this the perfect look for Rihanna to rock on the VMA red carpet.

“Mechanic: Resurrection” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

I have to say that after seeing the looks from the LA premiere of Mechanic: Resurrection I am infinitely less interested in what this promo tour is going to bring. Jessica Alba made a return to the red carpet in a Dolce & Gabbana gown that put me to sleep. I know that she can do much better than that and I pray that she gets back into her mojo. Jessica is so much better than the looks that she has been rocking so far this year and I am praying that she gets back on her game. Anyone remember her gorgeous Gucci Premiere gown at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards? Can we Jessica back to that level of glamour? I think that this black cherry Elie Saab Resort 2017 pleated v-neck gown which features knotted shoulders and a daring split would put Jessica back on the fashion map. This is such a standard gown but the addition of the laser cut leather belt makes it just that much more visually appealing. Adding a pair of strappy gold & silver Aquazzura ‘Luna’ sandals, an Edie Parker ‘Jean’ star cluster clutch, chic waves pulled back, a light pink lip & some dazzling drop earrings would put Jessica on the path to red carpet redemption. Chinese actress Michelle Yeoh (most known in western film for her roles in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Tomorrow Never Dies) is also a member of the cast of Mechanic: Resurrection and I am hoping that she will make the jaunt to London to premiere the film after skipping out on the LA premiere. Michelle always steps out on the red carpet in couture rocking Schiaparelli and Elie Saab so far this year. I think that this Ralph & Russo Fall 2016 Couture tea length gown which features a purple silk a-line skirt, a black chiffon top, lavender waistband and gorgeous floral embroidery would be a perfect choice for Michelle to make for this red carpet. I would have the top lined for modesty but overall this is a perfect look for a wide variety of age ranges and Michelle would look so chic bringing the glamour to this red carpet. A black clutch, black peep toe pumps, and a chic updo would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.Rounding out this set of wishes is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who always plays the role of the perfect plus one. While her pink Balmain ensemble at the Mechanic: Resurrection LA premiere wasn’t my favorite look of her she was still gorgeous as ever. I am hoping that when she joins fiance Jason Statham at the films premiere in London that she is back on top of her game. This red off the shoulder Mugler Resort 2017 (not 2016) long sleeve asymmetrical cocktail dress would be perfection on Rosie. This dress meshes modern edge and classic glamour and would make for a perfect dress for Rosie to support her man on the red carpet in. I would just add a pair of gold pointed toe metallic leather pumps, old Hollywood waves, and a bold red pout to really punctuate the modern glam of this look.

2016 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards is coming up this Sunday night. At the VMA’s there really isn’t a dress code and I am sure that we will see a whole variety of looks on the red carpet. One person I am praying we will see on the red carpet is Adele, who has been killing it with her fashion game so far this year. I have been loving watching Adele really show the world that a woman with curves can be fashionable too. I am hoping that since Maria Grazia Chiuri has taken the reigns at Dior that they label will start to include women who are not sample sizes. Adele in Dior would be an amazing pair and I think that this Christian Dior Fall 2016 Couture ensemble which features a black long sleeve peplum top and a black cutout detailed evening skirt would be amazing. I think that Adele looks best in looks that are modern takes on classic styles. I could imagine this being a major moment with a bouffant, red lip, black pumps, and diamond cluster earrings.Beyonce is tied with Adele for the most nominations at the MTV VMA’s and I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet. I am praying that Queen Bey will make up for the diseased Givenchy Couture condom that she wore on the red carpet at the Met Gala. I decided to go with something that Beyonce circa 2008 would love and something I pray that she would rock now. This dark green sequined Michael Costello Fall 2016 RTW long sleeve column gown which features a fitted sheath silhouette and a plunging neckline is a total Beyonce gown and I think that she would rock the hell out of it. Adding a pair of statement Lorraine Schwartz diamond and emerald drop earrings, luscious curls, a smokey eye, black sandals, a statement Lorraine Schwartz emerald ring, and a nude lip would ensure that Bey is bae for the night.Demi Lovato is one that I am not sure how she will show up on the red carpet at the VMA’s on Sunday. I went through a lot of options before picking this look for Demi. I could see her wearing something custom from Balmain or Moschino but I really think that this floral embroidered Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture bell sleeved mini dress would be a perfect look for Demi. Usually we see Demi in looks that are really fitted bit this more bohemian style would be perfect as its sexy yet flirty at the same time. A pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, a sleek bob, and pink lip would perfectly finish this as a red carpet win for Demi. FKA Twigs is one you never know what she is going to show up on the red carpet wearing. After being part of the #MyCalvins campaign for Calvin Klein Jeans earlier this year I would imagine that FKA Twigs would show up on the red carpet in some custom Calvin creation. I think that some dramatic version of a slip dress would be an amazing option for her to really make a high fashion impact on the red carpet. Outside of her appearances in Christopher Kane and Atelier Versace at the Met Gala the past two year we don’t see a whole lot of the R&B singer on the red carpet despite her killer style. I think that her VMA nominations for Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects that this might be a time to see some more of FKA on the red carpet. I honestly think that custom is the way that she will go but his rust Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2016 Couture gown which features sheer lace panels between suede panels would be a killer statement for FKA to make on the VMA red carpet. I realize that I am trying to make this carpet more glamorous than it is but I think that this could be a killer look for FKA. I have not yet confirmed that Lady Gaga will be among those attending the MTV VMA’s this weekend, but it is wildly rumored that she will be. Gaga has announced that she is getting ready to release new music and the internet is ablaze with rumors that the VMA’s is where she will first debut her new single “Perfect Illusion.” I hope so because Gaga has been on fire over the last year since reinventing herself with her staring role in American Horror Story: Hotel. Since the 2015 Emmy Awards we have seen a much more glamorous side of Gaga, most of her looks have come courtesy of her stylist turned designer Brandon Maxwell. While I love Brandon’s designs they definitely read more TV and cinema red carpet than music awards. I am hoping that the bold dramatic glamour of Gaga is back at the VMA’s and I think that this black and ivory Stephane Rolland Fall 2016 Couture bubble hem ball gown which features color blocking, a daring open bodice, and long sleeves would be the perfect look for Gaga to make her return to music with. While I loved the antics of Gaga when she first showed up on the scene back in 2009 I have been really loving this more glam side to her over the top style in recent years. This gown is not one that many would be daring enough to wear on the red carpet but I think that Gaga has the chutzpah to really make this look her own. A pair of great black strappy platform pumps, a bold red lip, old Hollywood inspired updo, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would really send this look to the top of my best dressed list.
