“Beauty and the Beast” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

For the Beauty and the Beast promo tour so far Emma Watson, and stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray, have gone for gorgeous modern looks which only nod to being a princess. I was wondering of Rebecca, who dressed Lily James for the Cinderella tour, was going to evoke the iconic looks from Belle for Emma to wear over the course of this promo tour like she did with Lily. That has not been the case. Emma has worn gorgeous looks from Oscar de la Renta, Louis Vuitton, Emilia Wickstead, and Elie Saab so far, but none have really screamed inspired by a Disney princess. I would like for one moment that eludes to her iconic character. Now while Beauty and the Beast had a fan event and screening London already, the film is supposed to have another red carpet premiere in the European capital city. When Emma steps out for this red carpet I would die if she did so wearing this yellow strapless Giambattista Valli Spring 2017 Couture tiered tulle ball gown. This gown definitely evokes Belle and I think that to finish off this tour in the boldest way possible that this would be the perfect look. I think back to Emma at the final NYC premiere of Harry Potter in Oscar de la Renta and what a beautiful moment that was, and I think that this gown would be even more amazing. I know that Emma has the chops to really make this gown work on the red carpet. Rounding this look out with a gorgeous romantic updo, a smokey eye, nude lip, and gold pumps would really ensure that this look is styled to absolute perfection for Emma. I have been sad that Gugu Mbatha-Raw hasn’t been out on the red carpets helping promote Beauty and the Beast. The British actress is one of those gorgeous rising stars and is already a style star on the red carpet. For the London premiere of Beauty and the Beast I would really love the gorgeous actress to step onto the red carpet and hold her own against that bold yellow Giambattista Valli Couture gown. Wearing this antique gold Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017 embellished tea length column gown which features a plunging V neckline, intricate embellishment details, and a tiered beaded fringe skirt Gugu would do just that. This gown is flapper glamour at it’s best and I really think that Gugu would really make this a moment on the red carpet. A sleek bun, lined eye, nude lip, diamond drop earrings, matching gold Marchesa clutch, and a pair of matching gold sandals would really add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Gugu to deliver a major moment on this red carpet.

2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List

I am still on a high from all the glamour from the Academy Awards red carpets last night, but fashion doesn’t stop for anything. We are now gearing up for the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards which will take place this Sunday March 5, 2017. This red carpet usually doesn’t draw too big of an a-list celebrity crowd so I decided to make it a small set of wishes for the red carpet. Carrie Underwood has earned a nominations for Country Song of the Year and Country Artists of the Year and is a pretty consistent face on any music award red carpet so I would think it is a pretty safe bet that she will be on the red carpet on Sunday night. I often get very frustrated with Carrie’s style because I honestly feel like she tries too hard to “fit in” with the country crowd. Often wearing styled that would have fit right in with the country stars of yesteryear like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynch, but they often end up feeling dated. I am hoping to see Carrie wearing some more modern looks on the red carpet. I think that this sleeveless peacock print embroidered Yanina Fall 2016 Couture shift dress mini dress would be the perfect look for Carrie to bring her style into the modern era. The color nods to the days gone by but paired with the shift style that this dress is absolute perfection. Styling the look with gold sandals, a loose updo, smokey eye, and a black clutch would ensure that this is a really modern, flirty, and amazing moment for Carrie on the iHeartRadio red carpet.A lot of the looks that Demi Lovato has worn on the red carpet recently have really made me question if she is auditioning for either a role on the Kardashians or a reboot of Jersey Shore. At the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday Demi is nominated for having one of the best fan armies and I would imagine that she will perform/present. If Demi does step out for the iHeartRadio Awards I would love to see something a bit more bold and statement making that we have seen from Demi recently. I think that this black, white, and yellow Ronald van der Kemp Spring 2017 Couture 80’s inspired tuxedo mini dress which features a feather style skirt would be a major moment for Demi on the red carpet. I have loved some of the 80’s inspired looks that Demi has worn in the past and I think that this dress would be such a fun moment for her on the iHeartRadio red carpet. Adding a sleek high bun, smokey eye, red lip, yellow diamond drop earrings, and black pointed toe pumps would ensure that this is a truly major moment.Katy Perry is performing at the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday as well has having a nomination for having the Best Fan Army. It has been interesting seeing what Katy does with her new bleach blond bob when she steps out recently. I have loved it when she does full Marilyn Monroe style curls and I am hoping that is show she styles it when she steps out on Sunday night. I went on the hunt for a dress that I fell that Marilyn would wear on the red carpet if she were a modern day glamizon. I ultimately settled on this gorgeous navy velvet Gabriela Hearst Fall 2017 RTW one shoulder gown which is covered in Swarovski crystals that echo the idea of a constellation because this gown is modern and classic all at the same time. I think that with the Marilyn inspired hair adding a smokey eye, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of black sandals that this gown would be the perfect look for Katy.Rounding out this look is the gorgeous Selena Gomez who holds nominations for Best Female Artist and Best Fan Army. Selena has been wearing a lot of really great looks since her contract with Louis Vuitton has ended and was not renewed. I would love to see a more dazzling side of Selena wearing this gorgeous gold 80’s inspired Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 Couture long sleeve sequin wrap dress which features a plunging neckline, bow detail on the hip, and a split on the already mini skirt. I think that Selena could really make this into a killer red carpet moment. Most would look at this and think of a supermodel or Taylor Swift, or Kerry Washington but I think that it could help usher in a new look for Selena. I would go full sex pot glam styling this look with long pin straight locks, a smokey eye, red lip, gold clutch, and a pair of gold stiletto sandals to really make this an absolutely major moment for her to wear on the iHeartRadio red carpet.

You Better Werk!: Janelle Monae in Chanel at the Chanel and Charles Finch Pre-Oscars Dinner

Janelle Monae has had a killer wardrobe run in the week leading up to the Academy Awards tonight. That run culminated with this gold Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 strong shouldered tuxedo jacket worn a as a dress at the Chanel and Charles Finch Pre-Oscars dinner at Madeo in LA last night. While I might be mad at Karl Lagerfeld for being a asshat to Meryl Streep there is no denying how absolutely amazing this ensemble really is too fabulous not to acknowledge. Janelle rocked this metallic dress and really delivered an absolutely killer moment. Styling the look with a Chanel bag, low bun, red lip, and a pair of Christian Louboutin satin sandals really made this another wow moment from Jane;;e. I cannot wait to see what she wears on the Academy Awards red carpet tonight.

“Beauty and the Beast” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

The promo tour for Beauty and the Beast has been in full force and I am really excited to see what the cast will be wearing for the films red carpet premiere in LA on Thursday March 2, 2017. Emma Watson has been killing it with her sustainable fashion campaign with this promo tour wearing amazing looks from Oscar de la Renta, Louis Vuitton, and Emilia Wickstead so far. All of the looks have been very worthy of this tour, but without wearing looks that are directly inspired by her character. For the LA premiere I did go with something that loosely inspired by Belle’s iconic ballgown with this bluish grey Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture gown which features a sweetheart bustier bodice and pickups that echo the pickups from the gold gown from the animated feature. I think that this gown would be gorgeous on Emma and a subtle nod to the iconic character that she has played. I wonder if she would wear another Dior Couture gown after having worn another look from this collection for the Elle Style Awards just a few weeks ago. Styling this look with a romantic updo, smokey eye, pink lip, black sandals, and Chopard Green Carpet collection diamond cluster earrings would really make this a truly WOW moment on this red carpet.Gugu Mbatha-Raw skipped out on the fan experience for Beauty and the Beast that took place in London last week and I am hoping that she will be joining the cast for the LA premiere on Wednesday. Gugu has been one of my favorite style stars and I have missed seeing her on the red carpet and this tour is an opportunity to really deliver some really major moments on the red carpet. This pale orange strapless Armani Prive Spring 2017 Couture gown which features a sweetheart neckline, embellished lace, and a trapeze silhouette would be gorgeous on Gugu. The gown just screams feminine glamour and for a big blockbuster premiere that is exactly what I want to see her bring to the red carpet. A pair of gold sandals, a gold clutch, chic curly afro, a smokey eye, and a bold red lip would ensure that this gown is an absolutely gorgeous moment for Gugu.

You Better Werk!: Taraji P. Henson in Giambattista Valli at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Last night the stars of the biggest independent films of the year gathered in Santa Monica alongside the Pacific Ocean to celebrate the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Taraji P. Henson was among the presenters at the Spirit Awards last night and she was the one that embraced that casual glamour the most. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this floral printed Giambattista Valli Spring 2017 Couture mullet gown for the Spirit Awards before I saw Taraji walk the red carpet in it. This gown has all the requirements to really make a perfect Spirit Awards red carpet moment and the fact that it was so unexpected on Taraji really made this look even more perfect. The soft makeup, loose curls, and the champagne satin sandals really made this look absolutely amazing.

You Better Werk!: Nieves Alvarez in Bottega Veneta at the Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 Presentation

There have been a lot of stars front row at shows during Milan Fashion Week, but surprisingly my favorite front row ensemble came from the Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 RTW presentation. When I think of Bottega I don’t usually think of a celeb heavy front row but their were a few fashion heavy hitters perched on the front row. Spanish supermodel Nieves Alvarez was perched front row and delivered my favorite of her casual moments ever wearing a khaki Bottega Veneta Spring 2017 RTW safari suit which she paired with Bottega Veneta eyewear and bag and a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps. Nieves often wears looks better than the model did on the runway and this is no exception. I am hoping that she spotted a few looks that she will wear on the red carpet because there was definitely a look or two that I want to see her rock on the red carpet.

2017 Academy Awards: Guests Red Carpet Wish List

Aside from the nominees, presenters, plus ones, and performers there are sure to be a host of lovely women who will attend the Academy Awards tomorrow night that are just there as guests. Emma Roberts is one of those stars that we are expecting to see on the red carpet tomorrow night. Emma is following Gina Rodriguez and Sophie Turner as an ambassador for the Red Carpet Green Dress on the Oscars. The Red Carpet Green Dress is a look that is all about fashion that is made from sustainably sourced, vegan materials and I am really intrigued to see what Emma will wear on the red carpet. The gowns for this red carpet moment are usually custom made and not usually a really big name. Emma could be the first to bring a really big designer into play for the Red Carpet Green Dress. Stella McCartney, whom Emma has worn before, is a designer that does sustainably sourced and vegan creations so it would be a perfect fit for Emma to wear the label on the Oscars red carpet. I went to the online stores since Stella doesn’t present many Oscar red carpet ready looks on the runway to find the perfect gown for Emma to wear on the Oscar carpet. This black and white asymmetrical color blocked one shoulder column gown which I found at Bergdorf Goodman would be perfect. The gown is modern, classic, and elegant which is exactly what you want to wear if you are going to just be a guest attending the Academy Awards. Old Hollywood waves, a lined eye, red lip, black satin clutch, black Christian Louboutin sandals, and a pair of diamond drop earrings would add the perfect touches to this look for Emma. Since the Oscars red carpet is a huge marketing opportunity for brands they try to set up partnerships with actor’s and actresses to promote their brands on the red carpet. Olivia Culpo is one of the fashion influencers that are going to be popping up on the Oscars red carpet to promote brands. Olivia will be fronting the Stella Artois Buy a Lady a Drink campaign, which will launch on Oscar night, and the gown that Olivia wears on Sunday night will incorporate glass beads made from Stella Artois’s limited-edition chalices which for each one sold, clean water is delivered to developing countries. We know that the gown is going to be custom made by the team at Marchesa, and after seeing the released sketches of 3 gowns I most would wan Olivia to wear the gown which seems to be inspired by this Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017 embellished column gown. This antique gold gown would be lengthened into a full length column silhouette which features a plunging V neckline, intricate embellishment details, and a tiered beaded fringe skirt would play well with Stella’s signature gold rim seeing as a source of inspiration. Wearing a campaign on the red carpet can come across as too try hard and I am hoping that Olivia will deliver an absolutely glamorous moment on the Academy Awards red carpet and I think that this gown would do just that.

2017 Academy Awards: Presenters Wish List Part 4 Red Carpet Wish List

Yesterday at 5 PM the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences sent me a press release with the final presenters for the Academy Awards tomorrow night. I went back and forth on whether or not I was even going to cover the last few presenters in wishes, since there are so many Oscar party red carpets to take in and dissect. As you can tell I decided to make quick wishes for the last 2 women who I can potentially get excited about. Now it can be a bit of a stretch for me to say that I can get excited about Jennifer Aniston, but she has been surprising in the past. Usually Jenn just wears black on the red carpet, and my wish isn’t going to change that. I think that Jennifer would look incredibly chic wearing this black chiffon Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture spaghetti strap bustier gown which features a flowing skirt. Jennifer would be gorgeous wearing this gown. Now where I would love to see Jennifer shock me is with how she styles it. I would love to see this gown paired with a chic updo, neutral makeup, a black clutch, black pumps, and a vintage diamond and gold necklace to really ensure that this is a wow moment for her.Salma Hayek is the first lady of Kering and I am sure that she will be wearing one of the brands that her husband’s company owns on the red carpet at the Oscars tomorrow night. The obvious choices for Salma to wear on the Oscar carpet are Gucci or Alexander McQueen. I went in a totally different direction. I went with this bold red Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2017 sleeveless fringe dress which I would love to see Salma have lengthened into a column gown. I know that this is far reaching because it is completely covered for Salma, but I really think that this has the potential to be one of her best red carpet moments ever. Styling this gown with a smokey eye, nude lip, diamond cluster earrings, a red clutch, and a pair of simple red sandals would really make this a total wow moment.

You Better Werk!: Amal Clooney in Atelier Versace at the 2017 Cesar Awards

When I first heard that George Clooney was going to be honored at the 2017 Cesar Awards I got really excited about the possibility of seeing Amal on his arm, and I was not let down. On a red carpet that was pretty much all couture the gorgeous human rights lawyer stood out in the best way possible. For her first maternity red carpet moment Amal chose a custom strapless Atelier Versace mermaid gown which features an ombre feathered skirt. I might be biased because I love gowns with feather, but I think that this might be one of Amal’s best red carpet moments ever. The gown read strong modern sophistication and it was just a shame that there were no pictures of Amal standing on her own wearing this gown so that we could really get a good look at it. Going into Oscar weekend this is a really major moment that people will have to try really hard to top.

You Better Werk!: Zoe Saldana in Jonathan Simkhai at the Cadillac Celebration of Oscar Week 2017

Oscar week has been rolling on and sadly I have been kind of underwhelmed with a lot of the look that stars have put forth. On Oscar week my expectations for good fashion are incredibly high and so far the first person to live up to my expectations has been Zoe Saldana. This ivory leather Jonathan Simkhai Fall 2017 RTW midi dress which features off the shoulder neckline ruffle detailed lace up sleeves, a side split, and studded embroidery on the hem was a total wow. I have loved seeing the Simkhai label grow and the Fall 2017 RTW collection has been one of my favorites of all the fall shows as of late. I think that this dress fits Zoe’s relax more bohemian approach to glamorous red carpet dressing and she made it come to life more than it was on the runway. Zoe could have gone full Angelina really working that side split, but she just used it to add a subtle dose of sexy to the ensemble. Simple nude pointed toe ankle strap pumps, nude lip, smokey eye, and sleek locks tucked behind her ears really showed this look to be an absolutely gorgeous red carpet moment for Zoe.
