The Locarno Film Festival is kicking off on August 2, 2017 and I am really excited to see what will happen. This is the first of the fall film festivals, but sometimes the red carpets can be a little lacking. There aren’t too many big stars in the movies that are premiering at this years edition of the Locarno Film Festival so I am hoping that the stars that are featuring in this years selection are all out in full force. French actress Berenice Bejo’s film Three Peaks is slated to make its Italian premiere at the Locarno Film Festival and following her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, I got really excited about her style again. When it comes to the dressing for Locarno the dress code is cocktail chic and I think that Berenice will ensure her look is perfect. When I first saw this sunset peach Elie Saab Resort 2017 bead embroidered ankle length cocktail dress which features a scoop neckline and an A-line ankle length skirt Berenice came to mind immediately. For a red carpet like the Locarno Film Festival I think that this would be an absolutely beautiful moment for Berenice. With the matching sandals from the runway, a chic updo, gold clutch, and a light pink lip this would be a beautiful look for Berenice.
Isabelle Huppert has made a real style emergence this year. After an awards season run and two films at the Cannes Film Festival Isabelle has been having her best year ever. I doubt she will make the journey to Locarno for the festival but I would love to see Isabelle step out to promote her latest film Madame Hyde on the red carpet. During Paris Couture Fashion Week earlier this month Isabelle slipped into her seat front row at the Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture show as the first model took the runway after showing up late. She made no big deal, but graciously slipped into a seat without any fuss. There are definitely a few looks from the collection that I want to see Isabelle wear and I think that this suited look which consists of a lilac zip up jacket and a lace trimmed slip style skirt with a beautiful hand painted watercolor print would be an absolutely perfect red carpet moment for Isabelle to wear for the Locarno Film Festival.
Now I know I said that that the red carpet at the Locarno Film Festival is usually more cocktail than gown arena, but Noomi Rapace is definitely one who doesn’t stand by dress code. For the festivals premiere of What Happened to Monday? I went with Dior Couture for Noomi. We saw Noomi front row at the Dior Homme show so I think it would bode well for her wearing the brand in the future. I think for for this Locarno premiere I think that Noomi would rock this black and maroon tulle Christian Dior Fall 2017 Couture sheer gown on the red carpet like no one else. I have been over the whole sheer trend, but I think that Noomi could really make this dress come to life on the red carpet. At the Dior Homme show Noomi had soft pink hair that I think would compliment this gown on the red carpet. With a pair of simple black sandals, diamond cluster earrings, and a kohl rimmed eye this look would be perfect.
It has been a while since we have seen Vanessa Paradis on a red carpet. I was kind of surprised that she didn’t make the jaunt to Cannes for this years festivals big 70th anniversary soiree after being on the jury last year. The French actress could be on a red carpet soon at the 2017 Locarno Film Festival to promote her latest film, Chien. It is pretty much a given that if Vanessa steps out on the red carpet at the Locarno Film Festival that we will see her wearing Chanel. Almost all of Vanessa’s red carpet looks are Chanel, and we tend to see her front row at most of the brands runway shows. I think that this light dusty blue Chanel Cruise 2018 draped jersey dress is something totally up Vanessa’s ally and I think that for an event like the Locarno Film Festival I think that this is a perfect option for her to rock on the red carpet.
Last but not least is the beautiful Zoe Kravitz whose film Gemini is being screened at the 2017 Locarno Film Festival. The film debuted in the United States back in early March, and is now going to screen at the festival in Locarno. Now there are definitely a whole host of designers that we could see Zoe wearing on the red carpet for Locarno, but I want to see her show up in this deep purple Alexis Mabille Fall 2017 Couture strapless silk and velvet trapeze mini dress. Zoe has worn Alexis on past red carpets, even giving the designer his first Academy Awards moment, and I think that for this red carpet that this creation would be an absolutely perfect look. I can picture Zoe with her bohemian glamour attitude really making this dress come to life on the red carpet. Finishing the look with a smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of strappy black sandals would make it perfect for her to wear at the Locarno Film Festival.
