2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 10

I have just one and a half more days of wishes for the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival left. As regular readers know very well by now is that I am really excited for this years festival because with exclusions of Emmy Rossum, Diane Kruger, and Cate Blanchett pretty much all of my favorite red carpet starlets are going to be on red carpets promoting films over the ten days of this years festival which kicks off a week from today. Jessica Chastain has two films that she is promoting at this years festival. You saw yesterday my wish for Jessica to wear that gorgeous red Ralph Lauren gown and now for her special presentation premiere of Molly’s Game. Jessica in green is always a magic moment and for this premiere I would love to see Jessica wearing this multi-tone green Elie Saab Resort 2018 sequin gown which features a halter neckline, faux wrap style, column skirt, and a dramatic split. This would definitely be that magic moment on Jessica and of the two wishes I made for her to wear for TIFF this year this is the one I want to see her bring to life. I was surprised that Jess didn’t wear an Elie Saab gown during Cannes, and I think that this would more than make up for it. I think that with some old Hollywood waves, a pair of gold Casadei pointed toe pumps, red lip, and gold set diamond drop earrings that this would make for a totally major moment. The premiere of The Disaster Artist is another premiere at TIFF that has a major cast that I am really excited to see what the cast will bring to the red carpet. The film will screen in the Midnight Madness selection of the festival, so I would imagine that while the stars will be glam that gowns aren’t necessarily what we are going to see on this red carpet. Alison Brie is an underrated style star who always looks great and deserves to get her hands on some really great brands for the red carpet. This nude lined black lace Blumarine Fall 2017 RTW handkerchief dress with thick black straps and a cowel neckline is glam and flirty which I think is the perfect look for Alison to wear on the red carpet at a Midnight Madness premiere. I would love to see Alison take this dress and go full glam with it adding a vintage inspired updo, smokey eye, red lip, and a pair of black Schutz ‘Primm’ satin block heel sandals. Kristen Bell also stars in The Disaster Artist and I am hoping that she actually makes me remember why I fell in love with her a few years ago. Recently I would love to see Kristen give us full glam with this blue and black Elizabeth Kennedy Fall 2017 RTW cocktail dress which features a strapless silhouette, a contrasting ruffle at the bodice, and a full tea length skirt. The dress is pretty simple aside from the dramatic neckline ruffle and I think that it would make for a chic and elegant moment on the TIFF red carpet. I would keep the dress the center of the look with a sleek updo, winged eye, nude lip, diamond cluster earrings, and simple black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals. Lizzy Caplan is always a favorite to see on the red carpet and when she has the platform of major events she always delivers. I would like to see Lizzy deliver something beautiful and glamorous for the TIFF premiere of The Disaster Artist. Since this premiere is in the Midnight Madness I don’t think that Lizzy will wear a dramatic gown, but I do think that this avocado green Prabal Gurung Resort 2018 cocktail dress  which features a plunging v neckline, a knee length, and button details would be the perfect look for her to rock on this red carpet. This dress is flirty and feminine and I think that Lizzy would totally win the red carpet in this dress especially when paired with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin ‘Hot Spring Butterfly’ peep toe, lace, slingback pumps and a pink lip. I know that while I have said that for a Midnight Madness screening that a gown might be too much of a stretch to wear, but if anyone in the cast of The Disaster Artist can then it would be Zoey Deutch. A year ago I had no idea who Zoey was. It wasn’t until I was tweeting looks from an event and hundreds of people liked and retweeted her that I even took notice of who she was. Since then she has been all over red carpets and a muse for some of the biggest brands in the world. One of those brands that she is very close with is Rodarte and I would love to see her step out on the TIFF red carpet to promote The Disaster Artist wearing this light pink ensemble from the brands Spring 2018 RTW collection that features a gathered ruffled crop top with a tiered tulle full length skirt. Everything about this look screams feminine, flirtatious glamour and I can totally see Zoey making it a totally modern red carpet moment. With a sleek center parted low bun, smokey eye, glossy light pink lips, gold earcuff, and a pair of rose gold Jimmy Choo ‘Marianne’ strappy glitter sandals Zoey would definitely shut the red carpet down.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 9

The 2017 Venice Film Festival kicked off the road to the Academy Awards yesterday in high style. It made me get really excited about what lies in store over the next couple of weeks and months will bring as we journey through the fall film festivals. The Toronto International Film Festival is usually a little more relaxed fashion wise than Venice, but still delivers some beautiful designs in simpler silhouettes. With all the stars that are confirmed to attend this years TIFF I just cannot wait for it to kick off a week from today! Hilary Swank has been one of my favorite women to see on the red carpet because she really knows how to deliver strong, glamorous looks on the red carpet. I got really excited when in one of the final announcements that Hilary’s film 55 Steps was added to the official selection this year as a gala presentation. Usually when I see gala screening I would usually pick a glamorous gown for someone to wear on the red carpet, but as I was looking through runway pictures looking for something dramatic and elegant for Hilary and I fell in love with the idea of seeing her wearing this silvery grey Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture strapless fully embellished strapless cocktail dress. This look is the perfect cocktail ensemble to sub in for a gown on the red carpet at a gala premiere. I could also potentially see Hilary stepping out wearing a custom Michael Kors gown, but I really want to see her wearing this Ralph & Russo design. I want to go full glam with this look adding a pinned back wavy hairstyle, smokey eye, nude lip, silver Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste S’ clutch, diamond drop earrings, a diamond cocktail ring, and a pair of anthracite grey Jimmy Choo ‘Emily’ sandals to really make this a major moment for Hilary.I will admit that I have kinda given up on hoping that Katherine Waterston will blow me away on a red carpet. She has the statuesque glamour to be one of my favorites, but she doesn’t seem to put in much effort. At TIFF this year we will see Katherine promote her latest film The Current War and I am going to give her one last shot before I completely move on from caring about what she wears. I think that Katherine would look incredibly modern and glamorous wearing this metallic silver Emilia Wickstead Resort 2018 trapeze gown. Of course the tailoring and fit have to be 100% on point, and I think that if Katherine carried it with strength and grace that she could really make it a beautiful moment on the red carpet. I wouldn’t over style it either. The gown calls for very simple accessories. I would add a silver box clutch, diamond cluster earrings, an romantic side parted bun, kohl rimmed eyes, glossy nude lip, and a pair of silver Chloe Gosselin ‘Bryonia’ strappy sandals to make this look perfection.Downsizing was the opening film of the Venice Film Festival yesterday and Kristen Wiig made me feel like maybe we aren’t in for a long haul of bad looks when she stepped out with her best red carpet moment ever in Zuhair Murad Couture. I am hoping that we will see her continue to pull out all the stops all through the rest of the fall festival season. We still have another premiere in Venice from Kristen and then two at the Toronto International Film Festival so I am hoping that she will be on tip top form. Kristen loves a good Prada look for the red carpet and II would love to see her take this light yellow Prada Fall 2017 RTW top and skirt and have it modified into a gown since this is a special screening. I think that if this were tailored into a perfectly fitted column gown with all of the goldenrod yellow beaded fringe and feather details that Kristen would give us modern art deco glamour on the TIFF red carpet. Adding a sleek hairstyle, winged eyes, bright pink lip, a gold Prada ‘East-West’ clutch, and a pair of metallic gold Prada heart cutout wedge sandals would make this another beautiful moment for Kristen. I was really surprised that Laura Dern did not make the jaunt to Venice for the premiere of Downsizing. I would have thought that with her Emmy nomination that she would be all over the red carpets to keep up appearances ahead of the actual Emmy Awards ceremony. I am hoping that Laura will jet to Toronto to help Kirsten and Matt Damon to promote this film. While I want Kristen to wear a custom Prada gown I went for short for Laura. I would absolutely love to see Laura give us relaxed glamour wearing this bronze Jil Sander Fall 2017 RTW ensemble which features an oversized long sleeve top and draped skirt. This is the first time I have ever used a Jil Sander design in a red carpet wish list, but I couldn’t think of a better person that Laura to bring this dress to life especially on the TIFF red carpet. Loose waves, a pair of bronze Schutz ‘Saasha Lee’ sandals, a black clutch, smokey eyes, and a nude lip would all make this a beautiful moment for Laura. When I heard that Margot Robbie would be presenting her film I, Tonya at this years festival I got really excited. Margot is one of my favorite ladies to see on a red carpet and I am hoping that when she steps out for her TIFF special presentation that she really makes it a beautiful moment on the red carpet. I went to Miu Miu to make another modified custom gown. Elle Fanning wore a short yellow runway version of this black Miu Miu Fall 2017 RTW shift dress which has color blocked feathered details for a Met Gala after party. I am hoping that Margot will take this mini dress and have the textured skirt and modify it to have a dramatic full length column skirt. I think that if Margot wore this dark yet edgy and romantic on the TIFF red carpet that it just could be one of my favorite moments of the entire festival. I would let the dress be the statement pairing it with a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Col’ leather ruffled sandals, Veronica Lake waves, a red lip, diamond cocktail rings, and a pair of diamond drop earrings.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 8

In this set of wishes for the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival we have some of our favorite ladies to see on the red carpet. I am excited to see so many of my favorite stars to see on the red carpet on the roster of films for this years festival. It means that we have a lot of amazing red carpets in store for us over the course of the ten days of this years edition of TIFF. Every year during TIFF there are some films that are continuing to promotions after screening at the Cannes Film Festival. One of those films is the Elisabeth Moss starring The Square and I am very interested in seeing what she will wear for this premiere. I would imagine that with the Emmy Awards looming that Elisabeth will be on the red carpet to help promote this film and keep up appearances. I would love to see Elisabeth give us romantic glamour on the TIFF red carpet wearing this navy Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 RTW cocktail dress which features a strapless silhouette, a velvet bustier with bow detail, and an a-line organza embroidered midi skirt. As we approach New York Fashion Week I am still surprised that this dress hasn’t been snatched up yet, and I am afraid that this dress is about to get lost to the archives and that is a real shame. I think that Elisabeth would make this a very chic moment for her to work on the red carpet for a TIFF premiere. I would go pretty simple yet elegant with the styling of this look adding a sleek bun, lined eye, diamond cluster earrings, red lip, and a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals. Since she won her Oscar for La La Land we have seen almost nothing of Emma Stone on the red carpets. Her latest film Battle of the Sexes is screening at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival as a special screening so I am sure that we will finally get Emma back on the red carpets. I went back and forth on so many different dresses for Emma because she can wear just about anything. Ultimately I went to this black Michael Kors Fall 2017 RTW paillette fringe strapless gown that features a strapless neckline and fringe column silhouette for Emma to wear for this screening because I love this gown and I think that she is one of the very few who could really make this dress come to life on a red carpet. I think that a lot of stars won’t wear this dress because Kendall Jenner modeled it on the runway and they don’t want to get into a “Who Wore It Better” situation with Jenner, but I think that it is silly that shows like E! News and Fashion Police would try to make this a “bitch stole my look moment.” I think that Emma would shut the carpet down wearing this gown with a loose updo, red lip, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Choca Spikes’ studded sandals to really compliment this gown perfectly. Glenn Close is always one of the most glamorous and dramatic women on a red carpet when she steps out. For the most part Glenn wears mostly Zac Posen on the red carpets and I am hoping that the two are cooking up something magical for TIFF gala premiere of The Wife. I feel like it would be something custom for Glenn to wear on this red carpet, but if I were to pick a runway look I think that Glenn would shut the red carpet down wearing this cavaliere red Zac Posen Resort 2018 ensemble which features an origami draped blazer and a high waist a-line ball skirt. This look is bold, dramatic, and elegant and I can totally picture Glenn really making this look her own. I feel like she would define her waist even if it is with a red silk ribbon belt. I would just add a smokey eye, red Schutz ‘Denitta’ pumps, smokey eye, lined eye, nude lip, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings to let the ensemble be the statement. The gala premiere of Woman Walks Ahead is one that I am most excited to see the red carpet for at TIFF this year. Jessica Chastain stars in this film, and as one of my favorite red carpet ladies and with the promise of a major gala screening I am praying that she will shut the red carpet down. After a glam jury run at the Cannes Film Festival I just want to see Jessica keep up her major moments on the red carpet. As the face of the fragrance Woman by Ralph Lauren I would imagine that Jessica will wear at least one look from the label during her time at TIFF. Since Ralph Lauren has moved to a see now buy now model we don’t get to see the next seasons clothes until they are allowed to hit stores. Back in May the brand released their lookbook for the Pre-Fall 2017 collection and aside from the liquid oxblood red sequin off the shoulder column gown there wasn’t anything that I really got excited about. Jessica was the first person I thought of to wear this gown and since she didn’t get it for Cannes, I think that a gala premiere at TIFF would be the perfect place for her to wear it. This gown is sleek and elegant with an innate sense of sensuality that I just think would all check the boxes on what would make this perfect on Jessica. Old Hollywood waves, matching red lip, vintage yellow gold set diamond and ruby drop earrings, and a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Love Heart’ sandals would punctuate this look perfectly. The last premiere I am making a wish for today is the special presentation screening of Hostiles. I want to see the star Rosamund Pike really deliver a really glam look when she steps out at the festival to promote the film. I went back to red for Rosamund to wear on the red carpet at this premiere with this Giambattista Valli Resort 2018 sleeveless lace trim gown which features a deep v-neckline, lace detailing, and a soft pleated skirt. When I think back at some of my favorite looks that Rosamund has worn on the red carpet in the past they are almost always red. I think that this simpler silhouette is perfect for a TIFF premiere and given her history that this would just become magic. Finishing this with a vintage inspired updo, red lip, smokey eye, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of red Christian Louboutin ‘Aketata’ peep toe, patent leather, ankle strap sandals all would contribute to making this an absolutely beautiful moment at TIFF.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 7

TIFF 2017 is getting so close. With the Venice Film Festival opening today I am just so excited for all of the glamour that is confirmed to walk red carpets over the next couple of weeks. Next Thursday the Toronto Film Festival will kick off with so many amazing stars slated to premiere films at the festival. We are now halfway through all of my wishes for this years Toronto Film Festival and we still have some really amazing wishes to go before I start onto my Emmy Awards wishes. Claire Foy is about to have a major fall ahead of her. The star of the Netflix series The Crown already has a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her role in the series and is nominated for an Emmy next month too. In addition to that Claire will be making the rounds at the fall film festivals to promote her first major feature length film Breathe with co-star Andrew Garfield. I am really excited to see what her wardrobe will consist of. We haven’t really seen much of her style yet. Of her four major red carpet appearances since the release of The Crown three of them have been in Erdem and one has been in Valentino. I am get that she likes to represent British brands on the red carpet, but all she has worn is Erdem. There are so many amazing British labels that she could explore and I am hoping that she starts to branch out and explore other options for red carpet ensembles. For the TIFF premiere of Breathe I went to British couturiers Ralph & Russo and this beautiful black and lavender strapless cocktail dress from the labels Spring 2016 Couture collection. I think that this floral embroidered dress is incredibly feminine and very glamorous and I think that for a red carpet premiere in Toronto that it would make for a very beautiful moment for Claire. With a sleek bun, pink lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black Schutz ‘Natally’ knotted sandals this look would be total perfection. It has been a really long time since we have really seen Dianna on a red carpet so I am exited that she has a film to promote at the Toronto International Film Festival. For her first Toronto Film Festival, where she is presenting Novitiate, I want to see Dianna be on top form. I would love to see Dianna would love to see her step out on the red carpet wearing this coral Monique Lhuillier Resort 2018 cocktail dress which features a one shoulder neckline, a draped peplum silhouette, and a midi length. I think that for a major red carpet return that this dress would put Dianna back on the fashion map. There are so many designers that Dianna could pick, so picking this simple Monique Lhuillier dress might seem safe. I think I kinda did, but one that is also extremely elegant. With the embellished waist, a pair of bronze Schutz ‘Saasha Lee’ sandals, sleek bun, and a pink lip Dianna would remind me what I used to love about her style. Novitiate also stars rising starlet Margaret Qualley, who is the daughter of Andie MacDowell, and I am really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet. I think that the fact that Margaret was invited to her first Met Gala earlier this year, as a guest of Prabal Gurung, that we can also figure that Margaret is also a rising fashion darling as well. For a TIFF special presentation red carpet I think that Margaret would continue to make her fashion star rise wearing this beautiful purple Elie Saab Fall2017 RTW ruffled lace gown which features a plunging neckline. I think that this dark and romantic gown is a perfect look for Margaret to wear for her first major film festival red carpet. Sparkle from a pair of grey crystal embellished Manolo Blahnik sandals and vintage Fred Leighton diamond earrings as well as a chic updo, smokey eye, and a red lip would ensure that Margaret looks amazing on the red carpet in Toronto. When I saw that Halle Berry would be promoting her latest film Kings at this years festival I kinda rolled my eyes. She has never been one of my favorite people to see on a red carpet and then her recent appearances have really been so snooze worthy that I just haven’t been excited about what Halle will bring to the red carpet. Since the premiere of Kings is a gala presentation I am hopeful that Halle will bring out all of the stops. I think that this red carpet would be the perfect place for Halle to give us total glamour with this black Dundas Resort 2018 crystal embellished illusion long sleeve gown features a sheet bodice construction and a full length column skirt with front leg slit. I could totally see Halle rocking this gown for a red carpet since it is sexy and glamorous all rolled into one look. I think that a pair of crystal embellished Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Coline’ sandals, a red lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a sleek low bun would make this one of Halle’s best red carpet looks ever.Unlike Halle I am completely obsessed with Ruth Wilson on the red carpet. I am really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet at the TIFF premiere of Dark River. Ruth has mostly worn Dior for the major red carpets she has walked this year, and I am praying that she will leave the brand at home for her TIFF premiere. I would love to see Ruth give this beautiful blue floral embroidered Altuzarra Fall 2017 RTW sleeveless column gown the red carpet moment it so deserves. I don’t know why but every February Joseph Altuzarra presents these amazing gowns that I want to see on a red carpet at every major event, but then we never actually get to see them. I fall in love with these gowns and they get lost to the cycle. I think that Ruth would look absolutely amazing wearing this gown on a TIFF red carpet. I honestly think that Ruth will end up wearing a custom gown from either Monse or Oscar de la Renta since she has been a friend of Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim since they launched Monse.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

We have a more varried set of wishes with this latest set of selections for stars to wear on the red carpet at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. There are so many major moments that are bound to happen. With the names of stars that are confirmed to attend this years festival we could potentially see at least one Best Dressed of the Year worthy moment on the red carpet. Alicia Vikander is one of those stars who could potentially give us a major moment on the TIFF red carpet. I have already made one wish for Alicia to wear for the TIFF premiere of Euphoria and I picked Louis Vuitton for her to wear for that premiere. I don’t want to see Alicia give us Louis Vuitton exclusively as she makes her rounds at the festival promoting both her her films. For the special presentation premiere of Submergence I shunned Louis Vuitton for Alicia’s second wish and picked this absolutely beautiful floral embroidered blue tulle Altuzarra Resort 2018 dress which just exudes bohemian glamour. I think that Alicia is one of the few stars who I can picture really making this gown come to life on a red carpet. I think that Alicia would make this look very effortlessly glam on the red carpet styling it with a loose updo, smokey eye, pink lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of gold Louis Vuitton ‘Golden Ruler’ sandals.I am really interested in seeing what Carey Mulligan is going to bring to the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Mudbound. Last year Carey had her best year ever when it came to red carpet dressing and I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpets while at TIFF this year. It was a pretty easy choice for me to pick this light blue Rodarte Spring 2018 RTW floral tulle dress which features a Chantilly lace construction and an iridescent gold embellishment design for Carey to wear for this red carpet since I think that it gives this very romantic glamour that Carey has killed on the red carpet over and over again in the last year or so. I have a good feeling that we will see a few of these beautiful dresses from this collection and I truly believe that Caret would turn it into an absolutely beautiful moment on the red carpet at TIFF. A loose updo, light pink lip, lined eye, and a pair of gold Oscar de la Renta ‘Alyssa’ embellished pointed toe pumps would compliment this look perfectly. Mary J. Blige stars alongside Carey Mulligan in Mudbound and I will be interested to seeing what she will wear on the red carpet at this premiere. Mary has never been a favorite for me on the red carpet. I usually find that her looks are very dated and usually too overtly sexy. I don’t think that is going to change when she steps out for TIFF to promote Mudbound. I went back and forth on exactly what kind of wish I wanted to make for Mary to wear for this red carpet, but I think that for a gala premiere in Toronto that this dark red Redemption Fall 2017 Couture one shoulder draped gown which features an asymmetrical sweetheart neckline and a daring split to the hip. I think that this is a good mesh of the glamour of a film red carpet, and the innate sex appeal that Mary loves to wear on the red carpet. I think that with a chic coif, smokey eye, berry red lip, a dyed to match satin box clutch, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals that this could be a dramatic and sexy yet glamorous look for Mary. I was very excited to see that Rachel McAdams has a film that will be screening as a special presentation on the red carpet the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival with her latest feature, Disobedience. Rachel is always a favorite to see on the red carpet, and with a major platform like TIFF I am expecting really amazing things from her. I think I would drop to the floor if Rachel showed up on the TIFF red carpet wearing this dark gold Atelier Versace Fall 2017 Couture long sleeve cocktail dress which has exaggerated Marie Antoinette style hips. This dress gives us futuristic vibes that take inspiration from the decadent past and I think that Rachel would totally bring this dress to life on the red carpet. I would love to see her finish this look with a sleek bun, smokey eye, red lip, matching clutch, and a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Ada’ sandals to really make this a totally perfect look for the red carpet. Disobedience stars two Rachel’s. Rachel McAdams and Rachel Weisz, and I love seeing both of them on the red carpet, so I a know that this will be a major moment on the red carpet at this premiere. I went for classic elegance and glamour for Mrs. Weisz to wear for this premiere. I think that Rachel would look so chic and elegant wearing this navy Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 RTW velvet gown which features an organza tie neck, a sleeveless silhouette, and a full length hem with back train. This gown just exudes glamour and elegance and I think that Rachel with her regal stature would just elevate it in a truly beautiful moment on the TIFF red carpet. I would love to see Rachel add some sparkle to this look via a navy Judith Leiber ‘Couture Crystal’ slide lock clutch, diamond and sapphire cluster earrings, and a diamond cuff bracelet. Adding a sleek low bun, lined eye, red lip, and a pair of blue floral jacquard Gianvito Rossi ankles strap sandals will ensure that this is a beautiful moment on the red carpet.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

I am kicking off today the same way I ended yesterday with a set of wishes that is dominated by a single film and and the addition of one wish for another film. There are so many films and stars that are set to grace the Toronto International Film Festival red carpets, that I can barley contain my excitement. The fall festival season kicks off tomorrow with the Venice Film Festival and will continue through TIFF. Basically the most glamorous time of the year is upon us. From now until the Oscars we will basically have some sort of premiere, for your consideration event, awards show, or film festival every week. The next 3 weeks in particular will have an event every single day. The Upside is a star studded film that has snatched up one of the festivals coveted gala screening slots. I have to say that this premiere is one that I am most intrigued to see who from the cast will be on the red carpet and what they will wear. It was last year while she was promoting The Birth of a Nation that we really started to see Aja Naomi King evolve into a fashionista. She works with the same stylist that has made Kirsten Stewart into a major fashion heavy hitter, and as Aja’s star continues to rise I have a feeling that she will become as major of a style star as Kristen. I would love to see Aja go for true glam with this cream and gold silk brocade Emilia Wickstead Resort 2018 draped a-line gown which features a criss-cross strap open back. The gown is effortless glamour at its peak and I am really excited to see who gets their hands on it. I think that it would look absolutely gorgeous and stand out against Aja’s skin tone and I feel that for a major film festival gala premiere that it would be a perfect choice for her to make. With a pair of champagne Oscar Tiye ‘Adele’ ruffled satin pumps, diamond cluster earrings, a braided high bun, and a red lip this look would be styled perfectly for Aja. I was very disappointed that Golshifteh Farahani skipped the international promo tour for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales earlier this year. I was hoping that we would really get a look at the Iranian actresses style on the red carpet. I hope that she will join her established a-list co-stars on the red carpet premiere of The Upside. I have gone off mostly things that I would want to see Golshifteh wearing on a red carpet, without making an informed choice based on her past history. I usually like to go through and make my wishes based on what stars have worn in the past, but there isn’t much of a history for me to go on with Golshifteh. For the TIFF premiere of The Upside I would love to see her go for bold with this multicolored sequin Elie Saab Resort 2018 mermaid gown which features a round neckline, a sleeveless silhouette, and a full length skirt. When I was picking looks and unsure of what to pick for Golshifteh to wear and I saw this gown I fell in love with the idea. The gown is elegant and dramatic all at the same time, making it a perfect choice for Golshifteh to wear on the red carpet at TIFF.Since The Good Wife has ended we have not seen very much of Julianna Margulies on the red carpet. I am hoping that when she steps out to promote her latest film The Upside that she will deliver a really amazing look on the red carpet. Julianna has the potential to really make me fall in love with her sense of style on the red carpet, and I want her to deliver something really major for this TIFF premiere. I think that this Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture gown which features a strapless velvet peplum bustier with a plunging neckline, gold belted waist, and a smokey ombré flowing chiffon skirt would be a totally major moment on Julianna. This gown is chic and classic, while also being sexy and dramatic all at the same time. I think that the look is so dramatic that simple styling would make it perfection. With a sleek romantic updo, smokey eye, nude lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Ada’ gold heel sandals I know that Julianna would own this red carpet. The final star of The Upside that I have a wish for is the gorgeous Nicole Kidman. Earlier this year in Cannes Nicole killed it with so many films premiering in competition and I am really excited to see how she is going to handle the fall festivals. Nicole has had a lot of success with wearing Armani Prive on the red carpets this year, that I just had to make another wish for her to wear the label. I correctly predicted Nicole’s Armani Prive Oscar gown earlier this year so I am hoping that I also get this beautiful multicolored Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture strapless midi length pencil dress which features beautiful floral embellishments correct as well. Nicole was the first person that came to mind when I first saw this gown come down the runway at the Armani Prive show back in July and I think that for an event like a TIFF premiere that she would look absolutely beautiful wearing this gown. It is not often that we see Nicole wearing a strapless gown on the red carpet, and I think this would make for a perfect option for her to showcase her awesome upper body. I decided to pull color from the dress and take it to her feet with a pair of navy Manolo Blahnik ‘Clarice’ satin pointed toe sling back pumps. Adding a sleek updo, pink lip, smokey eye, and a pair of dainty diamond earrings all would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.Rounding out this list is Kate Winslet who will be presenting her latest feature The Mountain Between Us at this years festival. This film is also screening as a gala presentation so I would imagine that we will see Kate wearing a gown on the red carpet. When it comes to style I am usually very underwhelmed and bored with Kate’s style, and I am hoping that she gives me something to peak my interest on the red carpet at her TIFF premiere. This black Reem Acra Resort 2018 embellished bow gown which features a fit to flare silhouette and an extended train screams Kate’s style on the red carpet, and I am thinking that this gown would elevate her style just enough to make me take note of her TIFF red carpet ensemble. I know that the styling would be very standard with a romantic updo, red lip, diamond cluster earrings, a diamond bracelet, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Aketata’ patent leather peep toe ankle strap pumps.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

The red carpets of the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival are bound to be extremely exciting. As you have been able to tell some of my wishes are filled with several films and some are filled with very few. In my fourth wish list for this years festival I only have two films, but five lovely ladies that are sure to deliver beautiful red carpet moments at this years festival. A big part of this set of wishes is dedicated to the amazing cast of the film Mary Shelley about the life of the Frankenstein author, which is going to be given one of the big gala screenings at this years festival. I am very excited to see what the cast will deliver on the red carpet at this premiere. Bel Powley is a rising fashion star, and I am really praying that she will deliver something absolutely beautiful and eye catching. I think that Bel would look absolutely stunning on a gala red carpet wearing this light pink Marc Jacobs Resort 2018 fringe trimmed dress which I would love to see have made into a gown for her. Every great rising fashion starlet needs at least one red carpet in Marc Jacobs and I think that for one of the major premieres in Toronto that it would be the opportune time for Bel to give it a truly beautiful turn on the red carpet. I think that if Bel wore a beautiful vintage inspired updo, lined eye, light pink lip, diamond drop earrings, a pair of simple gold sandals, and a gold clutch with this gown that she would have the major red carpet moment that I know that she could have. Elle Fanning plays the title role in Mary Shelley so I am expecting something absolutely magical from her at the films Toronto International Film Festival premiere. Elle loves these chic, bohemian glam moments on the red carpet and from the moment I saw this Schiaparelli Fall 2017 Couture gown on the runway I was in love. The strapless gown which features a white embroidered silk bustier and a nude tulle ball skirt is all about whimsical glamour and I totally think that Elle would look absolutely lovely in this gown on a red carpet in Toronto. I love the red chiffon cape that the gown was paired with on the runway and as much as I feel like it might come across as too costume-y for her to wear on a red carpet. I would love to see Elle add a sleek high bun, lined eye, red lips, and a pair of red satin sandals to really make this a beautiful red carpet moment at the Toronto International Film Festival. Joane Froggatt has never been one of my favorite stars to see on a red carpet. I don’t dislike her style, but I don’t think that she ever brings anything that is special to a red carpet. With some real fashion heavy hitters as co-stars in Mary Shelley I am hoping that they will rub off on Joanne and really inspire her to up her fashion game. For the gala red carpet premiere of Mary Shelley I would love to see Joanne go for the glam wearing this peach Pamella Roland Resort 2018 gown which features a sleeveless beaded bodice and a flowing skirt. I think that when it comes to glamour that we need to take baby steps and that this gown would perfectly compliment the two other gowns I chose for Bel and Elle to wear for this premiere as well. Where this look can be made is in the styling with a pair of rose gold sandals, a metallic rose gold clutch, sleek updo, a pink lip, and smokey eye to really draw out the inner glam goddess from Joanne. Game of Thrones starlet Maisie Williams can always be counted on for giving a glam red carpet moment in a look from a designer that doesn’t get a whole lot of love on the red carpet. I would love to see that come again as she steps onto the red carpet at the TIFF premiere of Mary Shelley wearing this absolutely beautiful cherry red and navy Dion Lee Resort 2018 nautical knot halter dress which features a draped tie detail. Dion Lee gets some red carpet love, but usually not at big events like the Toronto International Film Festival. I think that if anyone could really make this dress work for a gala presentation red carpet that it would be Maisie. I think that Maisie would totally turn this into a modern meets classic moment on the red carpet with a pair of simple navy sandals, tight finger waves, a berry lip, and a navy box clutch. The other film in this set of wishes is The Death of Stalin which is premiering in the Platform selection of this years festival. The film stars Olga Kurylenko alongside Steve Buscemi and Oscar Issacs and I cannot wait to see what Olga wears on the red carpet for the premiere. Olga is one of the most underrated style stars always delivering glamorous looks, usually in couture. For this premiere I went to this black and gold embroidered Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture tea length gown which features sheer peasant sleeves and a velvet bow on the neckline. When I was going through runway images just looking for dresses that were perfect for a TIFF premiere and I saw this gown I immediately thought of Olga and I think that the dark romanticism of this gown would make it the perfect look for her to wear on TIFF red carpet. The dress is such a statement on its own I don’t want it to get lost in over styling. A sleek high bun, smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of dark gold pumps would make this look absolute perfection.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

Here we go with day 2 of my wishes for the red carpets of the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. There are so many mahjor moments that are expected to be seen this year with a good portion of our favorite stars expected to be seen on the red carpets during the festival. As I have said there are a whole gambit of stars expected, more than 60, on the TIFF red carpets. Everyone from Angelina Jolie to Lady Gaga and more are all expected to be seen with at least one look over the course of this years festival. Angelina Jolie is debuting her fourth feature film at this years festival. Angie always takes the opportunity with her directorial films to shed light on stories that matter. From the Bosnian civil war to a World War II prisoner of war to her latest film First They Killed My Father which tells the story of unrest in Cambodia. For the TIFF premiere of First They Killed My Father I would love to see a really bold, elegant, and extremely glamorous moment that will exclaim that she is here and here to stay. A lot of people wondered if her divorce from Brad Pitt was going to be the end of Angelina’s Hollywood career, but I don’t see that. I always said that Angelina’s best red carpet moments came from her plus one looks supporting Brad, and I am hoping now that she will take those looks and wear them to promote her own films. I have wanted to see Angie wearing this sapphire blue Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture strapless column gown which features all over embellishments, sweetheart neckline, and a center split that she could work subtly or to its full advantage. Angelina has worn other looks from this collection, but I want to see her really give us bold color with at least one vibrant look during her time at TIFF. I think sleek combed back hair, a smokey eye, red lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of matching sapphire satin peep toe pumps would make this a perfect look for Angelina to wear on her first major post-divorce announcement red carpet. Bella Heathcote is a favorite to see on the red carpet so I am exited to see what she will wear to present her latest feature Professor Marston & the Wonder Woman. I don’t know what the film is all about but I just want the really great cast to kill it on the red carpet at their premiere. I would love to see Bella give us dark and feminine glamour on the red carpet on the TIFF red carpet wearing this black and blue Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture tea length gown which features beautiful floral embroidery, mock choker and plunging neckline, and lace detailing. I think that this is totally up Bella’s ally when it comes to red carpet dressing and is totally dramatic and glamorous for her to wear on the Toronto International Film Festival red carpet. The key to making a tea length gown really work is all in the styling.  I think that with a navy satin Judith Leiber ‘Couture Tuxedo’ crystal trim clutch, a pair of black patent leather Gianvito Rossi asymmetric strappy sandals, diamond cluster earrings, chic romantic updo, red lip, and a diamond cocktail ring or two that Bella would have a really major red carpet moment on her hands. Former Nashville star Connie Britton also stars alongside Bella in Professor Marston & the Wonder Woman. Connie is one who can deliver some really beautiful red carpet moments, but also can wear looks that can be seen as bland or basic. I am hoping that with two major forces in red carpet fashion on this team that Connie really puts her best for forward while promoting the film in Toronto. I would love it if Connie brought full on glamour to the TIFF red carpet wearing this nude J. Mendel Fall 2017 RTW gown which features tiered pleating and gold sequin embroidery detail. I think that this gown would put Connie in perfect company among her costars who will undoubtedly kill the red carpet in TIFF. A gold Judith Leiber ‘Couture Reflection’ coffered box clutch, old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, a light smokey eye, nude lip, gold set diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of nude Schutz ‘Natally’ suede sandals would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Connie. Rebecca Hall also stars in Professor Marston & the Wonder Woman alongside Bella and Connie. As something that has become normal Rebecca will serve her jury duties in Venice and then jump on a plane for Toronto to promote a film of her own. I am hoping that by the time that Rebecca lands in Toronto that all of her best looks will not be behind her. I would imagine that during Venice that Rebecca will wear mostly gowns, so for the presentation of her film Professor Marston & the Wonder Woman that Rebecca will go for something short. I think that this raspberry red Givenchy Resort 2018 lace cocktail dress would fit the bill of perfect ensemble for Rebecca to wear on the TIFF red carpet. I think that it would compliment the tea length gown on Bella and the sequined gown on Connie perfectly. This look might not have a stitch of crystal or beaded embroidery but the masterful use of lace and the modern bones bustier all scream elegance and modern femininity. I think that going even more modern with a pair of metallic gold Tom Ford snakeskin criss-cross mule sandals, a sleek bun, a pair of gold set ruby cluster earrings, and a matching raspberry lip would make for another beautiful moment for Rebecca to wear on a fall film festival red carpet. Sienna Miller was expected to present her film The Catcher Was a Spy at TIFF this year, but it has been removed from this years festival’s line up because it would not be completed in time. I was really looking forward to seeing Sienna on a red carpet in Toronto, but that dream has come crashing down. My wish for Sienna to wear this white lace Christopher Kane Resort 2018 tulip embroidered bustier gown which features a strapless design, an a-line silhouette, and a floor length was one of my favorite that I chose for this years festival, and hopefully I will get a chance to use it for another red carpet in the future.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

Every day for the next six days will feature two wish lists for the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. I am getting really excited for this years festival. So many of the films that we see nominated during awards season premiere during TIFF and with the wide selection of films and all of the stars that are confirmed to attend premieres during the festival are just making me even more excited for this years festival. Alicia Vikander has long been a favorite of mine on the red carpet and I have missed seeing her so I am excited to see what she will bring to TIFF this year. Alicia will present two films at the festival this year and the first that I am going to wish for is her film Euphoria. Alicia is a face of Louis Vuitton so I can only imagine that one if not both of her looks during the festival will come from the label. I decided to get my wish for hr to wear LV out of the way first. I have to say that Alicia is one of the few who I could see making this beige, gold, and black tree toile print Louis Vuitton Cruise 2018 dress. The square shaped dress is given a defined waist with a ribbon embellished waist. This collection was presented in Japan and I can definitely see the samurai and geisha inspiration in this design, without it looking like a costume. I think that Alicia wearing this dress with a braided updo, smokey eye, glossy nude lip, and black strappy sandals on the TIFF red carpet would make for a great moment. Eva Green also stars in Euphoria alongside Alicia and I am interested to see what she will bring to the red carpet. At the Cannes Film Festival Eva really wowed me when she stepped out wearing a black and silver sequined Alexander McQueen shipwreck gown which I thought had been lost to the archives. For TIFF I went with a dark take on bohemian romanticism with this black Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture gown which features a plunging neck, velvet bodice and a sheer lace ribbon skirt for Eva to wear on the red carpet. I think that this would compliment the Louis Vuitton dress I picked for Alicia to wear. Old Hollywood waves, a red lip, statement diamond necklace, smokey eye, and a pair of strappy black sandals would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Eva. Mother! is one of the films that is screening at the Venice Film Festival that will continue its journey to the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. It has pretty much been since the Passengers promo tour last December that we saw Jennifer Lawrence on a red carpet, and I am really excited to see her back on the red carpet. I know that JLaw is a face of Dior so I would imagine that she will wear nothing but Dior as she makes the festival rounds presenting Mother!. For TIFF I would love to see Jennifer wear this beautiful Christian Dior Fall 2017 Couture ruffled chiffon cocktail dress which features a plunging neckline, belted waist, and a midi length. I would however change the color. I think that if Jennifer wore this dress in a rich amethyst color to really make it a stand out moment on the red carpet. I would style this look with a pair of purple velvet Gianvito Rossi floral embroidered pumps, a loose updo, smokey eye, red lip, and diamond cluster earrings to ensure that this is a beautiful moment for Jennifer.  With two movies that she is promoting this festival season we are going to be seeing a whole lot of Kristen Wiig on the red carpet this fall. After presenting Mother! at the Venice Film Festival the films cast will jump on a plane and head to Toronto. For the films premiere I want Kirsten to join Jennifer on the red carpet wearing this midnight blue Zac Posen Resort 2018 embellished bodice gown feature a bateau neckline, cap sleeves, and a full length fit to flare skirt with back train design. This Zac Posen gown has the potential to be one of Kirsten’s best red carpet moments ever. Usually we don’t see Kristen in embellished designs, but I think the embellishments on this gown are simple enough. Adding a pair of black Oscar Tiye ‘Malikah’ velvet sandals, diamond and sapphire earrings, sleek hair, a lined eye, and nude lip would make this a real wow moment, a true fashion glam moment for Kristen. Rounding out my first day chock off of TIFF wish is Tatiana Maslany. The Orphan Black star is going to presenting her latest film Stronger at this years festival. This is hardly Tatiana’s first trip to TIFF and each time that she has she has worn a short dress. I am hoping that this year while she presents Stronger that we see Tatiana give us glamour on the red carpet with this liquid black Yigal Azrouël Resort 2018 column gown which features spaghetti straps, plunging neckline, and peplum. Tatiana’s style is more tomboy than old Hollywood glam, but I think that this edgy gown could fit her aesthetic quite easily. To make this look perfect for Tatiana I would love to see her pair this gown with a loose updo, light smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of black Schutz ‘Cadey Lee’ sandals.

2017 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Today kicks off my 13 post series of wishes for this years Toronto International Film Festival. When it comes to festivals TIFF is definitely the most star studded, it also has the most film screening. Over the course of the festival we are expecting more than 60 celebrities on the red carpets of this years festival, most more than just once. Last year Priyanka was a member of the TIFF short films jury and this year on the eve on the start of the festival she will be honored at the Toronto Film Festival Soiree gala. I went back and forth on so many potential options for Priyanka to wear for this occasion, but I ultimately went a little more obscure of a route for Priyanka with this black Rochas Fall 2017 RTW cocktail dress which features a v-neckline, full length sleeves, and sequin fringe throughout. This is one of the looks from fall that I would have thought that someone would have snatched up thanks to it’s chic but fun disco glamour, but no one has yet. I have always felt that Rochas was one of the most underrated of the red carpet brands, and the fact that none of these sequin fringe dresses from this collection have been worn is proof of that. I think that while Priyanka might be the center of attention at this event that going for bold black sequin fringe would allow her to stand out just as much as if she wore a bright color. I wouldn’t want to keep color completely devoid from this outfit adding it with more sparkle via a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Arletta’ mulitcolor crystal pumps. Julianne Moore is always one of my favorites to see on a red carpet, so I am really looking forward to seeing what she will deliver on the red carpets as she makes the festival rounds promoting her latest film, Suburbicon. For the films premiere at TIFF I would love to see Julianne step out on the red carpet wearing this beautiful blue and red multi tone Viktor & Rolf Spring 2017 Couture cocktail dress which on paper makes for something that shouldn’t work with the mix of patterns and textures, but it does. It would take a very special woman to really make this dress come to life.  With all of its tulle ruffles it could be easy for the dress to wear the wearer and not the other way around. Julianne is no stranger to making dramatic and avant garde designs work on the red carpet and I know that she would make this dress her own. I added a pair of red velvet Christian Louboutin ‘Decoltish’ pumps to add some trend to this look. Rounded out with a sleek bun, lined eye, red lip, dark blue satin clutch, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings this look would be perfection personified. At the premiere of Suburbicon in Toronto I am not as sure that Amal Clooney will be on the red carpet on the arm of George like I know she will be at the films premiere in Venice. Amal almost always steps out with George for his premiere’s, but with just giving birth to twins and the Toronto red carpets being a little more laid back and exclusive than Venice, I am not totally sure. If she does I would love to see Amal give a moment as the lady in red wearing this Alexis Mabille Resort 2018 gown which features a bow embellished neckline and a fit to flare silhouette. I know picking a gown for a plus one when I picked a cocktail look for Julianne, who stars in the film, but I think that since the dress for Julianne is extremely bold and avant garde that this gown would still be a beautiful compliment. I would want to see Amal go very simple with the styling adding a sleek updo, a pair of red Schutz ‘Lisana’ sandals, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings to really make this the perfect plus one ensemble. I always adore seeing Kristin Scott Thomas on a red carpet. It was a delight seeing Kristin on the red carpet in Cannes when I wasn’t expecting her and I am sure that she will deliver something beautiful on the red carpet at the TIFF premiere of Darkest Hour. I think that this metallic lavender Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture suit would be the perfect look for Kristin to wear on the red carpet. The suit is strong, but also feminine and elegant. I think that if Kristin wore this suit with a sleeveless black silk round neck top, a diamond necklace that evokes a men’s necktie, diamond stud earrings, a black Roger Vivier ‘Pilgrim’ pearly fringe clutch, sleek hair, a smokey eye, red lip, and a pair of black Roger Vivier ‘Strass-Buckle’ pointed toe mules that she would have a beautiful moment on her hands. Lily James always delivers absolutely beautiful moments on the red carpet that are chic and flirty. I would love to see Lily join Kristin on the red carpet at the Darkest Hour premiere wearing this beautiful Chanel Fall 2016 Couture tweed detailed, trumpet skirt, tea length gown. I have been so surprised that no one has worn this gown through last falls festival season, awards season, Cannes, and now here we are a year later with me wishing for this gown to be worn at TIFF again. I totally believe that Lily would turn this into the major moment that I know it can be. With a sleek low bun, rosy pink lip, winged eyes, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistpearl’ sandals, and diamond cluster earrings this would rank as one of Lily’s best red carpet moments ever.
