2018 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Wow can’t believe that we are at the final post of 2017! This year I have shared almost 500 posts with you guys and you guys have made this the best year yet! So thank you again! To finish the year I am taking a break from my Golden Globe Awards wishes to kick off my wishes for the Critics Choice Awards red carpet which will take place on Thursday January 11, 2018. The critics has been all over the map. The last time they had an awards show was back in December of 2016 and I was expecting for one earlier this month. I was refreshing the Critics Choice website over and over again until it was announced that they were going to be moving the show back into January and continuing with the meshing of the film and television awards. Alison Brie is going to be making a lot of rounds this year on the award season. She personally is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the Netflix series GLOW and is part of the ensemble casts of the Best Comedy nominated movie The Disaster Artist and the Best Acting Ensemble and Best Picture nominated drama The Post. So we will be seeing a lot of her over awards season. I am really excited to see what Alison will bring since recently she has worn a lot of really great looks on the red carpet. For the Critics Choice Awards I think that Alison would look absolutely beautiful wearing this Azzaro Spring 2017 Couture gown which features a navy sequined bodice and sand silk draped skirt. The gown is definitely not the same level of designer that we have seen from Alison lately, but the moment I saw it I was enamored with the idea of it. I think that for the occasion of the Critics Choice Awards that this is the perfect type of gown for Alison to rock on the red carpet. Style it with chic old Hollywood waves, a navy smokey eye, light pink lip, a navy Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slim Slide’ crystal evening clutch, a pair of nude Giuseppe Zanotti three strap sandals, and vintage Van Cleef & Arpels gold set diamond and sapphire earrings to really make this look perfection for this red carpet. Cat Deeley has earned another Best Reality Show Host nomination for her hosting duties on So You Think You Can Dance. Cat can have some really beautiful moments on the red carpet and I am really looking forward to seeing what she will wear on this red carpet. She tends to go to the relaxed glam route, and so I decided to keep that going with this teal Monique Lhuillier Resort 2018 rose print gown which features a strapless neckline, a column silhouette, and a back train design. This gown definitely falls right into what I think Cat would wear on the red carpet, and for the Critics Choice Awards I think that it would be a very chic moment. Since the dress is such a statement on its own I would just add loose waves over one shoulder, a defined eye, bold pink lip, silver crystal embellished Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Coline’ sandals, and a pair of Rina Limor pink tourmaline, diamond, & aquamarine floral teardrop earrings.Elisabeth Moss is looking like she is going to have a really great awards season this year. She is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in The Handmaids Tale. I think that we will have some really chic moments from her over the course of awards season. For the Critics Choice Awards I would love seeing Elisabeth give us glamour on this red carpet wearing this black and nude Roland Mouret ‘Addover’ strapless gown which is rendered in black double faced satin, reinvigorated with asymmetric bustling along with a peplum waist with a waterfall panel in blush that falls from waistline to hemline. I think that this very classically film nior style gown would look incredibly chic on Elisabeth. I would go all classic glam with the styling with a defined eye, pink lip, chic Veronica Lake waves, a black Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slim Slide’ crustal clutch, black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Ada’ gold heel sandals, and yellow diamond Chopard chandelier earrings to make this a beautiful moment for Elisabeth.Holly Hunter has earned a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Big Sick. Holly isn’t one who I think will make major waves when it comes to her style, but always looks very beautiful on the red carpet. At the Critics Choice Awards I think that she would look ever so elegant wearing this maritime blue Michael Kors ruched stretch matte jersey gown which features long sleeves, a plunging neckline, and peaked shoulders. This is a very chic moment and I think that Holly would look ever so elegant wearing this gown on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet. I would keep this look rather simple with loose waves, a smokey eye, light pink lip, navy Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste’ clutch, and a pair of navy suede Jimmy Choo ‘April’ platform, block heel sandals for Holly. Laura Dern is looking at several awards this awards season so I am really hoping that she will deliver a really great moment on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards. I went very chic for the Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series nominee with this black Armani Prive Spring 2017 Couture on shoulder gown which features a single cap sleeve, column silhouette, crystal embellishments, and a side cutout. This is the type of gown I figure we will see on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. When I was picking Golden Globe Awards gowns for stars with the mind of the #MeToo black gown protest I kept the burgundy and pink Ralph & Russo Couture gown I had initially chosen for Laura to wear instead of swapping it for a black gown. The idea that I had already picked a black gown for Laura to wear for the Critics Choice Awards also played a factor in not choosing another black gown for her to wear this awards season. With that said she very well could wear this gown for the Golden Globe Awards as well, but I think that this moment would be much less impactful on the Globes red carpet than the Critics Choice red carpet. Since this gown is so sleek I would want to see Laura go very glam with the styling. A romantic updo, smokey eye, rose pink lip, black Prada snakeskin box clutch, a pair of black satin Christian Louboutin ‘Tres Frais’ sandals, and statement Cartier Haute Jewellery diamond, onyx, ruby, and pearl tassel earrings all would round this look out in the most glamorous way possible.Michelle Pfeiffer has had a really great year this year and I am really excited to see what 2018 will have in store for her. As she has made the international rounds promoting her projects and attending award shows Michelle has just oozed sophisticated, sensual glamour and I am really interested in seeing that continue through Awards Season 2018. At the 2018 Critics Choice Awards Michelle holds a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series I went short, bold, and beautiful with this black Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 RTW ensemble which is covered in multicolored paillettes and features a strong shoulder, peplum blouse and a-line midi skirt all tied together with a black belt with a light blue buckle. This red carpet is definitely one where a tea length gown or cocktail dress could definitely be in play. This look is a little bolder in it’s shape than we have seen Michelle wearing this year, but I think that she would definitely take this look and really breathe life into it on the red carpet. A pair of navy velvet Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Lola Pearl’ slingback, ankle-wrap sandals, a romantic updo, bold defined eyes, and a nude lip would be all that I would add to this look to really allow for the dress to be the focus of this look. Finishing out 2017 is my final wish for the year is for one of my favorite ladies on the red carpet, Sarah Paulson. I have a feeling that with her nomination coming by the way of Best Acting Ensemble for The Post, her wins from last year for The People Vs. O.J. Simpson, and a lot of major projects on the horizon I feel like it is inevitable that we will see a lot of Sarah next year. For the Critics Choice Awards red carpet I went to vintage, which knowing her stylist Karla Welch is quite likely, Yves St. Laurent. This ruby-red silk and black velvet gown from the YSL 1994 Rive Gauche collection which features a seductive plunging bow-trimmed, bias cut, high side slit, and cut-out design is definitely something that I can picture Sarah wearing, and I think that this gown just screams classic glamour. When it comes to the styling I want to see Sarah really go for it with a sleek bob, defined eyes, nude lips, a great red velvet The Row mini bag with a dramatic black tassel, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Mira Bella’ criss-cross peep toe pumps, and Cartier jewels including sleek ruby and diamond drop earrings and a really glamorous art deco ruby and diamond bracelet to ensure that this look is perfection from head to toe.

The 2018 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Thursday January 11, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Menswear Red Carpet Wish List

Before I jump ship for a few days and start posting my wishes for Critics Choice Awards nominees while we wait for announcements of presenters for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards I have 5 more nominees to talk about. Menswear has been something that guys are playing a little more with. 5 years ago it was a pretty standard sight to see every single guy wearing a classic black tuxedo by Armani, Tom Ford, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, Gucci, or Ralph Lauren. Then we started to see a guy here or there start to break that norm and wear ivory dinner jackets or a navy tuxedo. Now we are seeing guys wearing crystal encrusted Balmain jackets, printed Gucci suits, and all other types of bold details that I never would have expected to see show up on a Hollywood red carpet. I love that men are having fun with fashion. Why not? So with some of the guys who over this year have taken some real risks with there style nominated at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards so I decided to drop some wishes for some great menswear moments.Ansel Elgort is definitely one of the best dressed men in Hollywood. He appeared on my Best Dressed Men of 2017 list and I am praying that he will bring some fashion factor to his red carpet tuxedo when she steps onto the Golden Globe Awards red carpet where he is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in Baby Driver. I still went to something a little more classic with this black Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 Menswear tuxedo, but it is made a little more “fashion” with the satin ribbon piping. It’s the little details that can make one tuxedo seem more special than the other and that piping definitely take this classic look and make it not just another basic tuxedo. The fit of a tuxedo is also a really important to how well the look comes across. Typically Ansel has an impeccable fit, and I am expecting that on the Globes red carpet especially. Finishing the look with a crisp white button down, a black bow tie, and a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Andie’ silver toe cap derbies (that would give me major shoe envy) this look would definitely be one of the looks that I could remember throughout the year. Armie Hammer delivers masculine take on fashion all the time. I will say I have missed the days where Armie wore perfectly tailored red and pink suits on the red carpet. He is still working with the same stylist, but his choices for big red carpets like the Golden Globes have been a lot more classic that boundary pushing. I am expecting that when the Best Supporting Actor in a Movie nominated actor steps onto the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards, that his look will most likely be really classic. I wanted to go a little more classic, but with a twist. That is exactly what this Ralph Lauren Fall 2017 Menswear tuxedo is. The snake embossed silk double breasted blazer with smoking jacket shawl lapels is definitely a subtle detail on the overall classic take of this look. The “edge” in this look will definitely change depending on lighting where depending on how the light catches the embossing will look more statement making or more classic, but overall this look is another example of an elevated classic. Aziz Ansari is a fashion dude, an unexpected fashion dude at that. Aziz is known for taking risks and wearing bold styles on the red carpet. I have a feeling that we will see him deliver something interesting on this red carpet and to do just that I turned to Dolce & Gabbana. If you are looking for a look that gives a fashion take on formal wear you need look no further than Dolce & Gabbana. I did go a little more classic with my option yet again by opting for this head to toe black Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2018 Menswear tuxedo which features ruffle details on the peak lapels and on the shirt. I think that while ruffles can look very 70’s/80’s or Dumb & Dumber inspired that this look is just enough to really make a statement, while still maintaining an overall chic and formal moment on the red carpet. Adding some more fashion details I think that Aziz would add some sparkle via a diamond and emerald Cartier brooch (swapping it for the runways gold crown) and a pair of black Dolce & Gabbana beaded crown slipper loafers to really make this a really great moment for Aziz. Nick Jonas always brings his a-game to the red carpet and I have high expectations about what he will bring to the 2018 Golden Globe Awards red carpet where he has a nomination for Best Original Song. I want to see Nick go for razor sharp tailoring via this Tom Ford Spring 2016 Menswear shawl lapel tuxedo with an ink blue blazer. Nick has given all kinds of different looks, with great biker jackets and such over the last year, but for a film awards red carpet I think that going more of the elevated classic route is the right way for Nick to go and that is exactly what this look is. Very rarely is fit ever an issue for Nick, so I think that would be no issue with this look either. I would keep the styling pretty much the same as it was presented in the lookbook, but I would swap the patent leather oxfords for a pair of black Louis Leeman woven loafers to add just another layer of texture to this look. Timothee Chalamet is the favorite to take home the Best Actor in a Movie – Drama award at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. In a journey that started back in February at the Berlin Film Festival. I took not of Timothee then when he wore a bold purple suede Berluti jacket for the Call Me By Your Name photocall. Since then we have seen many fashion moments from Timothee wearing brands like Gucci and Calvin Klein. I want to see him really go for it with fashion, which I feel we have seen lack from awards season front runners in the past. I think that if Timothee steps onto the Golden Globe Awards red carpet wearing this cream Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 Menswear thread textured, black lapel tuxedo jacket that all eyes would be on him. The jacket would compliment a Golden Globe Award trophy perfectly, so that is definitely something his stylist could take into mind. When it comes to styling I would usually go for a crisp white shirt and black bow tie, but Timothee isn’t always a fan of a tie, and I think that the vicars collar button down that the look was styled with on the runway is also right up his ally. I would then keep the shoes on this look very simple with a pair of black patent Jimmy Choo oxfords letting the jacket be the focus of this look. It would definitely make for a really bold moment for a major awards show red carpet.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Miscellaneous Nominees Red Carpet Wish List

We have my final wish for any of the female nominees for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards today. There are always lovely ladies who fall outside of the acting categories. Usually they just come out of the music category, but this year they span Foreign Language Film, Screenplay, Song, and the Cecile B. Demile categories. I am really excited to see what they all will bring to this red carpet. Angelina Jolie is one of the finalists for the 2018 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for her latest, First They Killed My Father. The black gown protest will certainly be something that Angie will partake in. I would love to see her give the most regal moment on this red carpet. If I had to guess I would imagine that Angie will wear a custom gown from Atelier Versace, but there wasn’t a single gown from the brand that I thought would work for the protest and for Angie. So I went on a search and fell in love with this absolutely regal Yanina Fall 2017 Couture column gown which features a black velvet skirt and a white feather like off the shoulder bodice. If anyone could give this gown the major regal moment that it needs on the red carpet it would definitely be Angie. Her presence would be more than enough to make me fall in love with this look; but with a chic updo, kohl rimmed eyes, a bold red lip, black Christian Louboutin ‘Pigallie Follies Crow’ patent pumps, and a pair of Cartier diamond, emerald, and onyx drop earrings I think I would fall over with the amount of glamour that Angelina would ooze on this red carpet. Greta Gerwig has been taking many award nominations and honors this season thanks to her directorial debut Lady Bird. It was one of the many shocking snubs at this event when she wasn’t nominated as a director. Nevertheless the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical and Greta Herself earned a nomination for Best Screenplay. I am really excited to see what Greta has in store for this awards season as she will most definitely deliver some really great looks on the red carpet. The black dress protest is one that I am quite intrigued to see how it will be visualized. Would this black and golf tiered Chanel Cruise 2018 strapless gown be considered appropriate? It does hold black, but I am not sure it will fit the bill. Otherwise I think that it would be a really beautiful moment for Greta. Swap the jeweled belt for a simple black waistband and add a pair of black braided Aquazzura ‘Shanty’ sandals, wavy cropped hairstyle, smokey eye, pink lips, and antique gold H. Stern star drop diamond earrings and everything about this look will be Golden Globe Awards red carpet ready. Mariah Carey is one of the ones that I have very little belief that will join the black gown protest. Mariah is a drama queen and I think that with all of the biggest names of the night wearing black that we will see Mariah go full diva. I could definitely see her showing up on the red carpet wearing this overly dramatic red satin Ines Di Santo Spring 2018 Bridal mermaid gown which features a halter neckline and fitted bodice. The dramatics of this look are right up Mariah’s ally and I know that she will really make this look even more over the top. A pair of red Alexandre Vauthier strappy, rhinestone embellished sandals, overly dramatic updo, smokey glitter eyes, a bold red lip, a pair of Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond drop earrings, a Van Cleef diamond and ruby watch bangle, and a statement ruby and diamond Van Cleef cuff bracelet all would ensure that Mariah is the most dramatic and sparkling star of the evening. Last, but most certainly not least, we have the recipient of this years Cecil B. Demile award Oprah Winfrey. I searched high and low for the perfect gown for Oprah to wear to accept this big honor. It was tough because I know that she will definitely be one who honors the black gown protest and had to find a look that would fit that and would scream Oprah. It was then the Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2018 collection went live on Vogue.com and I found this beautiful black velvet, long sleeve gown which features chic white floral embroidery. I think that this gown screams Oprah and that she would surely make this look really come to life on the red carpet. A chic updo, smokey eye, red lip, black Jimmy Choo ‘Annie’ embellished sandals, and a pair of Graff diamond bow and fringe earrings all would ensure that Oprah has an absolutely beautiful moment for her first red carpet appearance of 2018.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Best Supporting Actress on TV Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

Almost all of my nominee wishes for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards are out there. I can imagine many moments that we are bound to see on the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday January 7, 2018 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The nominees in the category of Best Supporting Actress on TV have a wide range of talents and I have to say that I have high expectations for what they will wear on this red carpet. The only nominee that I don’t have a wish for that I really want to see deliver a major look on the red carpet is Chrissy Metz from This Is Us. Chrissy wears great custom looks from some of the best designers with the help of her stylist Penny Lovell and I would imagine that the two are cooking up yet another really fabulous moment for this years Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Laura Dern was one of the examples that I cited at the very beginning of my Globes wishes as an example of how black can still be a really bold option for the red carpet with her feathered Proenza Schouler gown from the Emmy Awards. Like all of the ladies of Big Little Lies I think that due to the subject matter in the show that we might just see all of them don black on this red carpet. While of all the stars I think that it is most likely that Laura would wear black my initial wish was for something much grander. This light pink and maroon Ralph & Russo Fall 2016 Couture strapless column gown which features a dramatic caped train and intricate floral embroidery is the beautiful and dramatic moment that I am oh so craving from Laura on this red carpet. This gown screams glamour and drama and I really do think that Laura could be one to really make this gown come to life on the red carpet. Style it with a sleek updo, smokey eye, light pink glossy lips, a pair of bordeaux velvet Saint Laurent ‘Amber’ sandals, and vintage Cartier gold set diamond pendant earrings to really make this look totally perfect.Michelle Pfeiffer has been one of the most unexpected style stars this year for me. With knockout looks from Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Prada, and Monse this year I have high expectations about what she will rock on the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. I want to see Michelle give us nothing but glamour on this red carpet wearing this hot off the runway black Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2018 draped, sleeveless column gown which features a dazzling silver beaded applique on the hip and a side split, that I know that Michelle would not work a la Angelina Jolie. On Michelle this gown would deliver a really elegantly glamorous moment on the Globes red carpet, while still standing in solidarity with the black gown protest. The final touches to this look would be loose waves, a smokey eye, red lip, black satin Oscar de la Renta ‘Rogan’ crystal clasp box clutch, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Grace’ pumps, and extremely chic Harry Winston diamond cluster earrings. Finishing out this set of wishes is Shailene Woodley. I have to say that I am very wishy washy when it comes to Shai on the red carpet. She can wear some really beautiful gowns, but the effort that she puts into her beauty look and her carriage often leave me underwhelmed. She isn’t a likely winner in this category, but with Big Little Lies expected to be lauded and on the announcement that she show will have a second season that maybe we will see a really major moment from Shailene. I went back in the Zuhair Murad archives to find the perfect look for Shai and I think that this Fall 2014 Couture ensemble which features a white embroidered tank top and a faux wrap black beaded skirt would fit right into her general aesthetic. Because the look is so simple the styling of it will have to be 100% perfection to really make me fall in love with it. I think that a high, sleek ponytail, kohl rimmed eyes, nude lips, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and Forevermark diamond knotted drop earrings all would ensure that this look is nothing but easy glamour from head to toe.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

The ladies nominated for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Limited series are usually a mix of silver screen film stars and small screen television stars. Not this year. From top to bottom this years list is a-list all the way. Among the nominees in this category there are 5 Academy Awards, with another 12 nominations, 6 Emmy Awards, with another 14 nominations, and 9 Golden Globes, with another 31 nominations (including this year.) One of these ladies will make it 10 Golden Globes across them all and I have to say that this is the category that I am most hoping the ladies really bring the glamour to the red carpet in, because I know that they really have the potential to WOW.Jessica Biel is the one that is lacking in that department not having any Oscar’s or Emmy’s, and this year is the first time she has ever been nominated for a Golden Globe. Her miniseries The Sinner was definitely interesting. I watched part of it and wasn’t really drawn, but Jessica did deliver a really good performance in her role. If her past Golden Globes gowns as a presenter and as Justin Timberlake’s plus one have anything to say about it I think that Jessica will definitely be one to watch this awards season. I went back to my favorite gown from the Chanel Spring 2017 Couture collection for Jessica to wear on this red carpet. I am still shocked that this silver sequin column gown which features a white feathered pouf, plunging neckline, belted waist, and sheer hem hasn’t been snatched up for a red carpet yet. Out of all of the gowns in that collection it was the one that I was expecting to get worn the fastest. It is chic with a bold twist, and I think that it would make for a really great moment for Jessica on the Golden Globe Awards. Yes she has worn ballgowns as a plus one, but this look is just as bold and the platform to really have some fun with jewelry. I would head to Jessica’s go to jeweler Tiffany & Co and a pair of emerald and diamond pendant drop earrings (to add a little color) and a statement curvaceous bracelet with strands of diamonds to add even more sparkle to this look. Finish it off with a sleek center parted low bun, defined eyes, a bold pink lip, and a pair of silver Christian Louboutin ‘Degrastrass’ vinyl pumps to really pull this look to together perfectly. When it comes down it it I can picture most of the women nominated in this category joining the black gown protest. I can say that Jessica Lange will probably be one of them. She has an activist spirit and I think that she will most likely don a custom black gown. I couldn’t find a single black gown that I really wanted to see Jessica wearing so I picked this blue J. Mendel Resort 2018 walnut brown embroidered caftan gown which features a deep V neckline, voluminous cape construction, and a full length silhouette. The shape is definitely one that I can picture Jessica wearing on a red carpet, and honestly if she had Giles Mendel make a custom black version of this gown I don’t think I would mind. As it stands I think that if Jessica pairs this rich blue gown with a pair of terracotta Lola Cruz velvet platform sandals, bouncy curls, a bronzed smokey eye, and a rose pink lip that she would definitely give a beautiful look on the Globes red carpet.Nicole Kidman is the likely winner in this category for her amazing performance in Big Little Lies. In the show Nicole’s character is actually a victim of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse so I wonder if she will don a black gown yet again. In her Emmy Awards acceptance speech Nicole used her time to talk about violence against women, and I think that will be the case again at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. I was talking with someone who sees black a concealing color, and thinks that a color like red is much more of a shocking and impactful color. Nicole could definitely take that kind of a route and wear red, like she did at the Emmy Awards. I think that a bold red for women moment on Nicole would be a really beautiful look especially if she rocked this red Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture gown which has a corseted bustier that almost likens to high fashion armor. This is a look that screams strength, and I think that if anyone could really bring this gown to life on the red carpet it will be Nicole. I would honestly let the gown be all the statement of this look styling it with a sleek updo, a defined eye, red lip, red satin Gianvito Rossi pointed toe pumps, and dainty vintage Fred Leighton diamond chandelier earrings. Undoubtedly Reese Witherspoon will wear black on this red carpet. She is a huge supporter of women and she knows when to rock a political statement on the red carpet. I went down the runways to find a look that I think really screamed Reese, but there wasn’t anything that really stood out to me. I was already thinking that Reese would wear something custom so I went looking to the virtual racks to see if there was something that I thought could inspire a really great moment. I saw this black chevron sequined Calvin Klein velvet, one shoulder, chiffon cape, column gown on the Macy’s website and it definitely screamed Reese to me. The $359 gown isn’t designed by Raf, but rather the in house commercial collection design team, but I think that Raf could definitely take the idea of this gown and elevate it to a really couture level. A dress like this is a perfect canvas for some statement jewels and Reese has been wearing a lot of Tiffany & Co. jewels recently and I think that a pair of art deco diamond cluster earrings and statement diamond ‘Fern’ cuff from the brands Blue Book collection would add a lot more dazzling sparkle to this look. To really finish this look perfectly I think that Reese should style this gown with old Hollywood waves, kohl rimmed eyes, the perfect bold red lip, and a pair of black beaded Jimmy Choo ‘Annie’ sandals.Susan Sarandon is another one with an activist spirit, so if women are going to don black in protest of sexual violence against women I think that it is extremely likely that Susan will as well. Prior to the announcement of the black gown protest I had already picked this purple Tom Ford long sleeve, pleated gown which features tie cuffs and a column silhouette for Susan, and I think that instead of wearing it in purple that she could easily rock this same style in black. The silhouette of the gown is a little different that what we are used to seeing from Susan. This year we have seen her wear off the shoulder, long sleeve gowns with portrait necklines over and over again, and I think that this would be the perfect way for her to switch things up a little bit. Add a pair of black velvet Tom Ford cutout, lace-up sandals, loose waves, undoubtedly a pair of black plastic rimmed sunglasses, and a pair of emerald and amethyst Chopard pendant earrings to really pull this look together.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a Comedy Series Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

The race for Best Actress in a Comedy Series is one that I feel is wide open. Aside from one all of the stars in this category are from new shows. I really have absolutely no idea who will take home this trophy, and in most cases I have no idea what their red carpet MO is. I am really hoping that the funny ladies of television really bring their a-game to the 2018 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet. Alison Brie is one of the only stars on this list who I can kinda get a grip on what she may wear on the red carpet. In addition to her first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her Netflix series GLOW, Alison is also part of the ensemble casts of the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy nominated film The Disaster Artist and the Best Motion Picture – Drama nominated filmĀ The Post. When we see stars that have projects nominated in both the film and television categories at the Golden Globe Awards we usually see stars rocking some really great fashion, so I am really excited to see what Alison, and her stylist Cristina Ehrlich, will pull together for this red carpet. I had a rather basic gown picked out for Alison, but as she has made some appearances lately my feelings started to change, so I went back to the drawing board, with the black dress idea in mind. I think that going for the bold in this floral embroidered tulle overlaid Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture gown would be a risk for a TV actress, but with the films she is a part of being nominated for Best Motion Picture (in each category,) I think that Alison could get away with this very bold couture moment. In the case of this look the dress is the moment, and the styling will have to be simple and 100% on point. I think that with a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, a sleek vintage inspired updo, smokey eye, pink lip, and a pair of diamond Van Cleef & Arpels floral wreath earrings that this look would be nothing but sheer perfection on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Frankie Shaw is one of the new faces on the scene this year and I did a little poking around at some of the things that she has worn in the past and honestly it wasn’t much help at all. When one gets a major award nomination they suddenly start to make even better fashion choices, thanks to the help of even better stylists. Frankie is working with Annabelle Harron, who also dresses stars like Sarah Gadon, Salma Hayek, Jaime King, Teresa Palmer, and Oprah. I know some of the brands that Annabelle likes to place on the red carpet, and we could very well see Frankie wearing just about any of them, but I went in a different direction. I was looking through lookbooks at gowns that would be perfect for the Golden Globe Awards and I saw this black velvet Monsoori Fall 2017 RTW gown which features a dramatic train and a plunging neckline. I thought that it would look so chic on Frankie. The drama of this look is in stark contrast to the frothy (and fugly) tulle ruffled gowns from the brands that we have seen on the likes of Pink, Kelly Rowland, and Kesha. I am 100% over those gowns, but this would be a refreshing change of pace for the brand. Which I was ready to write off. Sultry glamour, that is exactly what this gown is and I think that Frankie has the perfect look to really make that come to life on the red carpet. I think that if she paired this gown with old Hollywood waves, a smokey eye, nude lip, red Judith Leiber Couture faceted box clutch, a pair of black Steve Madden ‘Carrson’ suede sandals, and a statement ruby and diamond Adler necklace that Frankie would definitely be able to hold her own against the Hollywood heavyweights that will also be on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Black may be the name of the game when it comes to picking the right gown for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards but Insecure star Issa Rae is known for her use of color and pattern. I went back and forth on what to pick for Issa to wear for this red carpet. She could definitely be one of the ladies joining in on the silent protest of wearing black, but she just does color so well and the idea of her wearing this melon yellow Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 RTW embroidered silk organza gown which features a straight strapless neckline, open pale blue ribbon-trimmed back, and a cathedral train was an idea that I just couldn’t shake. This gown closed this show and I remember watching the livestream and seeing a lot of really beautiful moments, but not being wowed. Then this gown came down the runway, and it took my breath away. I knew that it was bound to get saved for an awards season moment. I fear that the Golden Globes are the only place where we just might get to see this gown on a red carpet, and that the black gown protest will leave this beautiful gown in a garment bag in the Herrera archives forever. Issa is one of the very few stars who I think wear color well enough to really make this gown come to life on the red carpet and I really want to see her give it the moment I know this gown deserves. A braided updo, smokey eye, nude lip, china blue Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ glitter pumps, and a pair of statement diamond and emerald Nina Runsdorf fringe pendant earrings all would complete this look in the most eye catching manner.Pamela Aldon is another newbie that I had a really hard time picking a look for. She is known her her pants ensembles and black. So I figured she will join the ranks of nominees and presenters that will don black in protest, but I went to a gown instead. I just couldn’t find a pant look that I thought would be right for Pamela and the Golden Globe Awards. But when I saw this very simple black Tadashi Shoji Resort 2018 gown which features an a-line skirt, long sheer sleeves, and a draped cowel neckline I thought that it would be a chic moment for Pamela to rock on the Golden Globe Awards. Is this a gown that will end up on my best dressed list? Probably not, but I don’t think that is what Pamela would factor into her look. I feel like she will always be one that will give something very simple and sophisticated, but will never push the boundaries of style and fashion. Simple styling including loose waves, a smokey eye, nude lip, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Lancer’ suede caged sandal pumps, and simple diamond stud earrings would finish this look off in a very chic way for Pamela.Finishing out today is yet another newbie, Rachel Brosnahan. The fair skinned, redheaded star of the Amazon Prime series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is one that I am definitely going to watch. She has the potential to be a really great red carpet star joining the ranks of some of my other favorite red carpet redheads Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, and Julianne Moore. I decided to go dark for Rachel to wear on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet, but not black. When I saw this dark eggplant purple Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 Couture cap sleeve, column gown which features beautiful beaded fringe and delicate floral embroidery I thought of how gorgeous of a moment it would be on Rachel for her first Golden Globe Awards red carpet. It might be the model has similar skin tone and hair color, so it was easier for me to imagine, but I can really see Rachel really having a truly glamorous moment wearing this gown. Styling it with old Hollywood waves, matching Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste’ glitter clutch, a smokey eye, a burgundy red lip, a pair of matching Roberto Cavalli platform sandals, and Tiffany & Co. blue book diamond drop earrings would ensure that this look is perfection from head to toe.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a TV Drama Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful and fabulous Christmas! I am now 100% full steam ahead on what will come to us in 2018! With all of my wishes for film stars to rock on the red carpet it is time to move on to all my wishes for the ladies nominated for their roles on television. Kicking off today I have my wishes for the stars who have earned a nomination for Best Actress in a TV Drama. This is one of those categories where the race is really tight, so I would imagine that everyone in the category will be on their top game.Based on the buzz from the internet I would say that Outlander star Caitriona Balfe is the fan favorite to take home the 2018 Golden Globe in this category, but I think that many will be upset when one of the other ladies nominated in this category win. Caitriona is beautiful and the former model turned actress can really wow me, but when it comes to her Globes gowns in the past I have been pretty underwhelmed. I want to see her really go for the glamour this year with this brick red J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2018 pleated, stripe printed gown which featured beaded embroidery at the sleeve line and the waist. To me this gown screams glamour and Caitriona’s statuesque carriage I think would really make this a really major moment on the red carpet. The silhouette isn’t really anything to laud, but on someone as tall as Caitriona that with the perfect precise styling it could compete against the dramatic trains and couture ball skirts that we are bound to see on this red carpet. I think that with a sleek low bun, kohl rimmed eyes, a matching brick red lip, a gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘New Goddess’ crystal clutch, gold Steve Madden ‘Leona’ crystal embellished sandals, and a pair of vintage gold set Boucheron diamond and ruby earrings would add all the perfect finishing touches to really ensure that this is one of Caitriona’s best red carpet looks ever. Claire Foy is one who I feel has great potential, but something about her looks just end up falling flat for me. She is the epitome of royal perfection playing Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, so I know she can be on point. I want her to channel that glamour when she steps onto the Golden Globe Awards red carpet on January 7, 2018. Claire is the reigning holder of the title in this category, but there is a really tight race in this category this year. Claire wore custom pink sequin Erdem earlier this year to collect her Globe, and I went back to the brand yet again for her to wear for next years red carpet. I would love to see Erdem take this red, black, and grey Pre-Fall 2018 jacquard sleeveless cocktail dress which features a square neckline and an a-line skirt and turn it into a beautiful floor skimming ball gown. This dress would evoke the same silhouettes that Claire is known to rock as QE2 in The Crown, but in a bit of a more modern and edgy manner. I think that it would perfectly compliment her dark raven locks which I would want to see styled in a chic side parted style. Finish the look with defined eyes, a dark red lip, silver glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Annie’ sandals, and vintage Fred Leighton diamond chandelier earrings to really make this look total perfection.Elisabeth Moss is one that I can definitely picture wearing black to stand in solidarity against sexual violence in the entertainment industry by wearing black on the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, especially given the subject matter of her show. Elisabeth is the likely winner in this category next year and I really want to see her deliver a wow moment on the red carpet. While I think that Elisabeth will wear black, the gown I want to see her wearing is a bold red. This brand new red Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features braided detail on neckline, waistline, and straps, pleating throughout, and a V-neckline screams Elisabeth’s laid back approach to glamour and I think that it would be a really beautiful moment for her. Style it with old Hollywood waves, a defined eye, nude lip, Boucheron diamond and ruby earrings, and a pair of red Gucci ‘GG Web’ crystal broach and ribbon bow sandals to really make this the absolutely gorgeous moment that I know it can be. Out of all the nominees this year I think the on that I saw coming the least was 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford. The show received such wishy washy reception that I didn’t think that any awards ceremony would dare touch it. I personally thought 13 Reasons Why is one of the best shows of 2017 and really talked about teen suicide in a way that I thought would connect with youth. I didn’t think it glamorized suicide I thought it brought awareness to the signs that someone might be contemplating it. Anyway, I don’t think we will see Katherine take this trophy home. If she did it would be a major upset, but I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to her first major awards show red carpet. I think that Katherine would look gorgeous wearing this black Alexander McQueen gown which features red floral cluster beaded embroidery, long sleeves with masculine padded shoulders, and a deep V neck leading into a fitted waist. This gown is modern glamour defined and for a first major awards show I think that it would be seen as a really beautiful moment for Katherine. A red rose ornamented Alexander McQueen knuckle clutch, ruby red velvet RAYE ‘Blake’ sandals, a chic updo, smokey eye, red lip, and a selection of Adler jewels including a pair of ruby and diamond drop earrings and a double teardrop ruby and diamond cocktail ring all ensure that Katherine shuts down her first ever Golden Globe Awards red carpet.Rounding out this list is the beautiful Maggie Gyllenhaal, whom I love to see on the red carpet. I tried to start watching The Deuce, but I just couldn’t get into it. I am really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet at the Globes next year. As I write all of these wishes I find myself still asking if I should swap the colorful gown that I have picked for them in favor of a black gown. I went back and forth with Maggie. She very well could rock a beautiful custom black Prada or Miu Miu gown on this red carpet. I think there are so many beautiful ideas out there for custom gowns, but I really want to see some stars deliver great color moments on the red carpet. I think that Maggie in this pale yellow Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2017 Couture 40’s inspired column gown which features puffy sleeves, a ribbon belted waist with a crystal broach buckle, and a feathered hem would be the perfect change of pace to black gowns, even if they are for a good statement. Maggie does this 40’s style of glamour extremely well and I think that there would be no better place than the Golden Globe Awards to really make this look come to life. A vintage inspired updo, simple winged eyes, a pale pink lip, nude Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Coline’ sandals, and a selection of white and yellow diamond Harry Winston jewels including a pair of cluster earrings and a statement cocktail ring all would really ensure that Maggie has one of the best red carpet moments that she has ever had.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

Since it is Christmas I wouldn’t want to overload you with wishes so I only have one wish list for today, the gorgeous ladies who are nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie. Unlike the leading actress categories all the supporting actresses compete in one category instead of a supporting actress in a drama and musical/comedy. It makes it a little more of a predictor for the Oscars since they don’t have to factor in two different winners. It seems like going into the Golden Globe Awards there is a two horse race in this category. One of the stars at the top of the race is Allison Janney, who has earned her nomination for her performance in I, Tonya. So far Allison has four wins under her belt with ones from the Hollywood Film Awards and the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards and a total of 13 other nominations already, with BAFTA and Oscar nominations expected. I am really hoping that Allison’s stylist Tara Swennen (who also dresses Kristen Stewart, Ashley Benson, and Julie Bowen) will pull out a major set of looks over the course of award season. A challenge in dressing Allison is that she is super tall, so a lot of runway looks may not be to full length on her. I tried to think of some of the designers that would be willing to create a runway look for Allison to fit her statuesque height. I think that Georges Chakra would be a perfect designer to do just that. I would love to see Allison stand in the black dress solidarity with the #MeToo movement wearing this black long sleeve Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 Couture column gown which features a sheer paneled plunging neckline and 3D silver floral details. This gown is beautiful, simple, with a bold detail. That is what I am praying will be the norm when we see stars wearing black on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Details that make simple gowns extraordinary, and not just simple black sheath and column gowns. I would let the metallic floral details of this gown be the centerpiece of this look adding a black satin Bottega Veneta woven knot clutch, a pair of black Steve Madden ‘Promise’ satin ribbon sandals, sleek updo, smokey eyes, red lip, and simple and delicate Neil Lane diamond drop earrings to really finish this gown off beautifully. Hong Chau is a Vietnamese born American actress who is nominated for her supporting role in the film Downsizing which opened the Venice Film Festival earlier this year. I hadn’t heard of Hong prior to this premiere but since then we have seen her wearing Elie Saab, Alessandra Rich, Versace, Prabal Gurung, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. So I am really interested in seeing what an awards season run will bring from her. I would love to see Hong step out for her first Golden Globe Awards giving us a beautiful couture moment. Elie Saab was the first major designer to dress Hong, so I went back to the brand for her to wear for the Globes. I think that she would definitely take this beautiful metallic nude organza Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture ball gown which features dusty cornflower blue crystal beaded embellishments would be the perfect look to really make people take notice of Hong on this red carpet. I went back in the archive for this gown because I think that the coloring of this gown would just be so glamorous and elegant on Hong. Upping the glamour even more with a chic updo, smokey eye, nude lip, Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ crystal and glitter embellished nude mesh pumps, and a pair of Cartier diamond chandelier earrings would all ensure that Hong would really deliver the dramatic glamour that I think would make her one to watch this awards season. Laurie Metcalf is the other supporting actress who seems to be in the lead of favorites to take home this award at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. I don’t think of Laurie as a fashion girl. She has worn the same dark green draped Christian Siriano gown for several red carpet events, but I am intrigued to see what an award season where she is being seen as a major contender will bring from her. For the Golden Globe Awards I went to this beautiful purple chiffon Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Fall 2017 long sleeve draped gown for Laurie because I think it makes for a very beautiful moment for the actress. The gown isn’t anything that would top best dressed lists, but I think that the just inherent elegance of this gown would be enough to really make it a beautiful moment for Laurie. When it comes to styling Laurie isn’t usually one for a lot of accessories so I would just pair this gown with a pair of matching purple velvet Prada strappy sandals and a simple vintage gold and diamond Van Cleef & Arpels necklace. A chic updo, defined eyes, and a light pink lip would add the perfect finishing touches. When I was thinking about what Mary J. Blige I went back and forth on what gown I was going to pick for her. I had this gorgeous Zuhair Murad gown all set to go up, but then the announcement of the black gown protest came about and I was left to think if Mary would be one of the stars who would join that group of stars standing in solidarity with the #MeToo movement. Ultimately I decided that it was a resounding yes. So I am saving that gown for one of Mary’s other appearance this awards season. I had to go back to the drawing board. First I went back to the same collection that the first gown I had picked was from, but then as I decided to save the original gown for something else made me start looking elsewhere. It was a pretty easy choice for me to pick this black, sheer chiffon Paolo Sebastian Spring 2018 Couture caped ball gown. This gown is a real statement and I think that for her first major awards red carpet as a serious actress. Paolo Sebastian isn’t a really big name, but I think that for Mary and this red carpet that I think that she would definitely make this dress a really regal moment for the Globes red carpet. A sleek glamorous updo, smokey eye, bold red lip, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Nosy’ PVC t-strap pumps, and a selection of statement Chopard diamonds from the ‘Garden of Kalahari’ collection including doorknocker earrings and a large cocktail ring all would elevate this look to absolute perfection.Rounding out today is the gorgeous Octavia Spencer who sees her nomination come from her performance in The Shape of Water. Octavia is always one who brings glamour to the red carpet, and as I have said I am making wishes that would help expand her repertoire of designers. Jenny Packham has been known to dress the curvy women of Hollywood on the red carpet, so I thought turning to the brand for Octavia would be a great idea. Disco glamour has been a huge trend recently and when I saw this midnight blue sequined Jenny Packham Resort 2018 long sleeve, wrap gown with a velvet ribbon tie I thought it would be the perfect gown to put Octavia on that train. Often we see Octavia wearing very classic shapes and usually minimal on embellishments. I think that this would be really good moment for her to just sparkle the night away. Since the gown is a statement all on its own I would have Octavia style the look with a sleek high bun, a blue smokey eye, red lips, a navy Nina ‘Barlow’ quilted velvet clutch, midnight blue satin Badgley Mischka ‘Roxy’ embellished sandals, and a pair of dazzling Harry Winston diamond and sapphire drop earrings to really ensure that this look is perfection from head to toe.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.

Merry Christmas To All!

Wow! What a year it has been. As I continue on with all of my bountiful wish lists and plan to grow If I Was A Stylist I just have to take a moment to thank all of my all of my readers. I don’t know if I could keep going if I didn’t realize that these lists were being loved by many. I am thankful for every single person that has read anything that I have posted.

This year has been amazing. I haven’t seen the exponential amount of growth that I have seen this year in the seven years that I have been working on If I Was A Stylist. This started as a fun passion project that has turned into so much more, and I wouldn’t be where I am without all of you.

Cheers to all of you! Thank you all again. I hope that you have a warm hearted holiday.

Sincerely, Thomas James Monks

P.S. my Christmas OOTD is an H&M faux leather lapel tuxedo jacket, red plaid Adam Levine for K-Mart faux shearling lined flannel hoodie, white Nicole Miller button down, a red glitter laurex bow tie, Lucky Brand ‘Rebel Super Skinny’ jeans, and Gucci loafers.

2018 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a Movie Comedy Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

Since there are so many wishes to make in just a short amount of time I decided to double up some days of wishes for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. I am expecting some really beautiful moments on this years red carpet from all of the stars are both nominated and presenting. I am wondering how this trend of stars who stand in solidarity with the #MeToo moment by wearing black on the red carpet. Initially when I heard that we would be seeing a sea of black gowns on the red carpet at the Golden Globes my reaction as ughhhhhhhhh, but then I started to think. This year there were a lot of really striking black gowns on the red carpet like Lara Stone in Balmain at the Cannes Film Festival, Laura Dern in Proenza Schouler at the Emmy Awards, and Brie Larson in Oscar de la Renta at the Oscars. I also looked through the runways and found that there are a lot of really great black gowns that are anything but basic. So I am a little more interested to see what will come from this red carpet now. Emma Stone won a Golden Globe this year for her performance in La La Land and is nominated again in the same category for the 2018 ceremony. With the win from this year we could have already expected to see Emma on this red carpet, but with a nomination for Battle of the Sexes I have a higher expectation about what she will wear. Earlier this fall Emma was announced as a face of Louis Vuitton and so far she has given us a good range of designers on the red carpet. She hasn’t become that just Louis Vuitton one trick pony that most LV ambassadors have become. I decided that since there aren’t any good looks for the Golden Globe Awards from LV that I would buck the brand in favor of this black strapless Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture ball gown which features a sequined bustier and a tiered tulle a-line skirt which features blue and pink embroidered details to make this gown just a little more visually glamorous. I had already picked this gown before the announcement of the wardrobe protest, and it was one of the designs that made me start to change my mind about what not loving the idea of a sea of black gowns. When I was searching for the perfect accessories for this look I found a multicolored sequined Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Malle’ clutch that matches the subtle color details in this gown perfectly. Add a romantic updo, smokey eye, bright pink lip, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and a pair of diamond and ruby Louis Vuitton High Jewelry drop earrings to really ensure that Emma shuts down the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Helen Mirren was one that I wasn’t really expecting to see nominated, but I was glad to see get one for her performance in The Leisure Seeker. I love seeing Helen on the red carpet because she always bring something that is incredibly chic, but always has a fun factor to her looks. For the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards I went into the Valentino archives to pick the perfect gown for Helen. Since Maria Grazia Chiuri left Valentino to head Dior we haven’t seen anyone wearing a look from any of the collections that she worked on with former co-designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, who is now the sole creative director of Valentino. It is a shame because there are a lot of really beautiful gowns still in the Chiuri/Piccioli archives that deserve red carpet moments. This blue floral brocade long sleeve ballgown from the Valentino Fall 2012 Couture collection is one of those pieces that I hope do get dusted off and worn by someone at some point and I think that it would be a perfect option for Helen to rock on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. This gown just oozes sophistication and I think that Helen would carry it extremely well. Styling it with a pair of dress blue Schutz ‘Hara’ satin sandals with a crystal heel, smokey eye, light pink lips, a chic updo with blue streaks, and a pair of diamond and sapphire Tiffany & Co. cluster earrings all would really make sure that this is a truly glamorous moment for Helen. Margot Robbie has a good chance of taking home this trophy next year for her portrayal of Tonya Harding inĀ I, Tonya and I am really praying that she will deliver something really major on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. I would most likely expect Margot to wear something custom for this red carpet, but how gorgeous would Margot be wearing this liquid gold velvet Schiaparelli Fall 2015 Couture column gown which features beautiful beaded details and a dramatic train. This gown is glamour defined and I am honestly shocked that not a soul has snatched it up yet. It is a gown for a grand occasion and I do think that the Golden Globe Awards red carpet is a perfect platform for it. I believe that with a gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Prism’ polished metal coffered rectangle clutch, a pair of gold Giuseppe Zanotti jeweled three strap sandals, romantic updo, light smokey eyes, a nude glossy lips, and a beautiful vintage gold Van Cleef & Arpels diamond encrusted tassel rope bracelet Margot would have a winning look for if she does win.Saoirse Ronan is who I expect is the favorite to win in this category this year for her performance in Lady Bird which has given her many of honors and accolades already. I will not tell a lie that while I didn’t pick a totally new gown for Saoirse to wear for the Golden Globe Awards I did swap the gowns I had initially picked for her to wear for the Globes and SAG Awards since I had a black gown on my SAG wish list for her. I saw this black Gucci Pre-Fall 2018 velvet gown with a sparkling tulle train and a crystal belt buckle and Saoirse was one of the first few people that immediately came to mind, so I thought it would be a really great glamorous gown for Saoirse to possibly win wearing. This gown is dramatic and beautiful, but with one hair out of place this look could be very boring. A sleek updo, kohl rimmed eyes, a bold red lip, black Gucci ‘Ilse’ crystal embellished sandals, and a selection of Neil Lane diamonds including a pair of black diamond teardrop earrings and a statement cuff bracelet all would ensure that this look is perfection.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 7, 2018.
