Here we are at the end of my wishes for the 2018 AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala honoring George Clooney. There are so many potential stars whom I think could step out and celebrate George’s storied career. Some of the stars whom I think are most likely to step out to fete George are in this final wish. The only person I can honestly say that I am 99.9% sure will be on hand at the gala will be George’s wife Amal, but with the major star wattage that George has worked with along his career bodes well for a really glamorous night. Following her brilliant run as the president of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and an almost underwhelming promo tour for Oceans 8 I would love to see Cate Blanchett step out on the red carpet to help celebrate George. Not only is she keeping the Oceans legacy alive but she has also stared alongside George in two films, The Good German and The Monuments Men. While this event is fully taking place in the summer I went very fall for the look I picked for Cate. I have loved this look from The Row Fall 2018 RTW which features a black long sleeve turtleneck blouse and a navy bell shaped satin skirt since I first saw it was presented back in February. It is very fall like, but then again Cate did just wear a Givenchy Couture turtleneck in Cannes. I think that Cate is one of the few people who could really know how to sell this look to me on the red carpet. She has the statuesque elegance to really make this look come across with ease. Add a sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of black Aquazzura ‘Nathalie’ strappy sandals would all keep this look the epitome of modern elegance.
Evan Rachel Wood has been killing the fashion game over the last year giving pretty much pants looks on the red carpet. She has helped us to redefine how we think about red carpet dressing. A gown was not the first thing I thought of when I was thinking of a look for Evan to rock on this red carpet. I feel like she might be on this red carpet since she stared in The Ides of March alongside of George back in 2011. Valentino has been really great recently and Evan’s stylist Samantha McMillan is a huge fan of the brand and is obsessed with the brands Spring 2018 Couture collection. I was thinking that Evan could easily take this ensemble from the runway which includes a mint draped bow bodysuit, grape high waisted trousers, and lilac cape and make it a really major moment. I think that she would bring her easy style of glamour to the red carpet and I think that this would be a really beautiful moment for this event. She could rock the look both ways with and without the cape. Pair it with a sleek hairstyle, nude lips, defined eyes, deep purple Saint Laurent ‘Anja’ metallic pointed toe pumps, and a selection of rainbow inspired Ana Khouri jewels including a pair of ‘Mirian’ earrings and a ‘Mirian’ cuff bracelet to really make this another gorgeous statement look for Evan.
Oceans 11, Oceans 12, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and Money Monster are all of the films that Julia Roberts and George Clooney have stared in together and he produced her film August: Osage County. It doesn’t surprise me that Julia is going to be the one who hands George his AFI Lifetime Achievement Award next Thursday, but I would be surprised if she wore something that is an inspiring fashion choice. Julia sticks to the classics, and the dress (or suiting) of her choice is usually black. I did make a but of a bold choice picking this navy and black Monse Fall 2018 RTW half velvet and half sequin midi dress which features an off the shoulder neckline, long sleeves, ruched detail at the midline and a draped asymmetrical hem. On many of the ladies I’ve featured in my wishes to salute George I could see them wearing this dress easily, but I thought that it was a really inspired option for Julia to rock on this red carpet. I think that maybe the hem will have to be adjusted a but either shortening it to the knee or lengthening it to be a gown. I would probably go with the former more for Julia than turning this gown into a gown. A black Edie Parker acrylic clutch, old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Follies’ pointed toe pumps, and Fred Leighton black jade, rock crystal, and diamond drop earrings would be the way I think that Julia would style this dress and I do think that it would be a really chic statement for her to bring to this red carpet.
Gravity is still one of my favorite movies. It was simple and dramatic and thought provoking all at the same time. The film is predominately just George and Sandra Bullock in space for the whole movie, and I have to say that Sandy’s Oscar nomination for that film. Sandy also plays the sister to George’s character in Oceans 8, though it is reported that George doesn’t actually make an appearance in the film. I would love to see Sandra step out on this red carpet, which is actually the night before Oceans 8 releases. Since the film has not had (and is not scheduled to my knowledge) a big red carpet premiere that I would love to see Sandra rock this red carpet with a glamorous moment. I think that if she rocked this sage green Brandon Maxwell Fall 2018 RTW sequin halter dress which features a column gown and a center split that it would be a really beautiful moment on the red carpet. It is a sleek and glamorous statement and I definitely think that Sandra would really own this dress on the red carpet. Style it with a grey glitter Jimmy Choo ‘J Glitter’ box clutch, sleek center parted hair, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, pewter Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ ankle strap sandals, and a pair of Irene Neuwirth diamond, aquamarine, and green tourmaline drop earrings to perfectly compliment this look for this red carpet.
Tina Fey made fun of George in the opening monologue of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. “Gravity is nominated for best film,” Fey said during the award show’s opening monologue that year. “It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.” George vowed to get Tina back for the joke and has since done so. I would love to see this turn into a trivial tit for tat and I think that coming out on the stage at his AFI Lifetime Achievement Award gala would be a great idea. She is expected to take home a Tony the Sunday following this gala and I think that keeping up appearances at this gala would be perfect. I think that Tina would own the red carpet wearing this incredibly glamorous burgundy Zac Posen Fall 2018 RTW gown which features a v-neck, beaded detail throughout the bodice, a pleated skirt, and draped detail on the back. I want to see Tina bring the glamour to the red carpet over the course of the next few weeks and I definitely think that this gown would be a really chic moment for her to bring to this red carpet. It would be perfectly accented with a glamorous updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Betty’ illusion sandals, and a pair of IVY New York ruby and diamond cluster earrings.

2018 AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala Honoring George Clooney Red Carpet Wish List Part 2
George Clooney is being honored with an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award next Thursday and I am really excited to see who will step out to honor this storied actor, director, and producer. George has worked with almost all of the biggest names in Hollywood in both his television and film careers as well as his work in philanthropy. I went through lists of Georges famous female friends, co-stars, and more to come up with the ladies featured in this list, and while I don’t have any confirmed idea of who will be invited. Anna Kendrick stared along side George in 2009’s Up In The Air and it earned both and Oscar nomination. I would honestly be surprised not to see Anna on the red carpet. While I mostly picked gowns for this red carpet and I think that Anna would rock the red carpet giving a little variation wearing this blue and black floral print Armani Prive Spring 2018 Couture strapless mini dress which features 3-D beaded embroidery on the neckline, peplum hips, tulle overlay, and tight hem. This is a great dress and I definitely think that Anna would rock the hell out if this dress. A sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a navy velvet Judith Leiber Couture coffered rectangle clutch, black Christian Louboutin ‘Very Lace’ peep toe platform pumps, and a pair of Hueb ‘Mirage’ blue tanzanite and diamond earrings would all ensure that this is a really chic look for Anna to rock on the red carpet to honor George.
Cindy Crawford, and her husband Rande Gerber, are among Georges best friends and while I doubt either will stand on the stage it would surprise me if they aren’t in attendance. Probably seated at the same table as George and Amal. One thing I would take a bet on is that if Cindy is on the red carpet at the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala honoring George Clooney that she will do so wearing some sort of a Versace gown. I think that she should dip into the Atelier Versace archives and snatch up this sleek white halter gown which features a corseted bodice, plunging neckline, sheer panels, a high low hem, and a bit of a train. Cindy knows sexy and I think that she would ensure that it is a beautiful moment for her to rock on this red carpet. I would keep the look rather sleek styling it with dramatic old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, nude lips, a white Prada studded frame clutch, a pair of white Aquazzura ‘Galaxy’ embellished PVC slide mule sandals, and statement Chopard amethyst, aquamarine, and rubellite drop earrings.
Back in 1998 Jennifer Lopez stared alongside George Clooney in Out of Sight. While her Vegas residency is currently performing she is off on the night of his gala and I wonder if she will jet from Vegas to LA to help celebrate George. After all Out of Sight was one of Jennifer’s first films. I always love when JLo steps out for a Hollywood red carpet because she brings a different style of glamour than we usually see when she steps out for music events. Jennifer wore some Pamella Roland back when she was a judge on American Idol but has never worn the brand for a red carpet before. I do think that turning to the NYC based designer and this glamorous white one shoulder gown from her Pre-Fall 2018 collection which features a bugle beaded fringe embellished bodice and a fitted column skirt. The fitted column gown isn’t exactly what we are used to seeing from Jennifer. Usually when it comes to really fitted gowns Jennifer usually wears ones that have a dramatic train or are sheer. I think that this would be a really glamorous change of pace for the iconic superstar. It is a really glamorous gown and I definitely think that with a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a white Marchesa beaded crystal clasp clutch bag, white Christian Louboutin ‘Jumping’ strappy pumps, and a pair of statement Harry Winston diamond waterfall earrings would all make this a truly statement making glamour moment for Jennifer.
In 1997 George stared in The Interpreter alongside the gorgeous Nicole Kidman. I adore seeing Nicole on the red carpet and she has a little redeeming to do after the golden butter Michael Kors gown that she wore to the ACM Awards back in April. She usually gives some really glam looks on the red carpet, especially when stepping out to support hubby Keith Urban, and I feel like she would bring a chic look to the red carpet at the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala next week. I definitely think that Nicole would bring statuesque glamour to this red carpet giving us this cream lace Ermanno Scervino Fall 2018 RTW long sleeve midi dress which features a wrap style, side split, plunging v-neck, and sheer lace construction. This is definitely a really sexy look for Nicole, but still really glamorous. She doesn’t do a whole lot of the sheer trend, but its so subtle in this dress that I think she would still be drawn to it. I think that pairing this dress with a sleek hairstyle, defined eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of gold Sergio Rossi strappy pointed toe pumps would all really allow this dress to come to life on the red carpet.
Tilda Swinton and George Clooney have stared on the big screen together three times. In Michael Clayton, Burn After Reading, and Hail, Cesar. Tilda earned herself an Oscar for her performance in Michael Clayton and since she and George seem to enjoy working together that I would love to see her step out to fete George at his gala. I always love a Swinton sighting and I think that if she stepped onto this red carpet (or more realistically snapped inside after skipping the red carpet) wearing this dark green velvet and black Haider Ackermann Fall 2018 RTW midi dress which features a turtleneck, an A-line silhouette, and pleats in the skirt that it would be a really great moment. I would usually pick a pants look for Tilda to wear on a red carpet like this, but I think that this dress is really perfect for the occasion. I really do think that Tilda could really sell this look to me on the red carpet especially if she paired the look with her signature pompadour coif, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of black and gold Fendi cross strap sandals.
2018 AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala Honoring George Clooney Red Carpet Wish List Part 1
George Clooney will be honored with this years AFI Lifetime Achievement Award with a gala honoring his career on June 7, 2018. I went through and found all kinds of stars whom I would love to see fete Georges storied career. Based on friends, former co-stars, and of course the real star of the show his gorgeous wife Amal Clooney. So over the next 3 days we will see all of the ladies I would love to see step out next Thursday for this red carpet. Amal Clooney is a queen of fashion and glamour. Before Amal I did always look forward to see what Georges arm candy of the year was going to bring to the red carpet, but no one has delivered glamour as well as Amal does. It’s no longer ‘George Clooney’s girlfriend or wife’ its now Amal Clooney, and her husband George. She was just the co-chair of the Met Gala and then the pair attended the Royal Wedding where Amal stole the show. So when she, and George, step out on the red carpet at his AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala I know that she will deliver something absolutely magical. I saw this burnt orange Zac Posen Resort 2019 silk gown which features a draped open back, plunging neckline, bias draping, subtle embroidery, and a soft sweeping train and Amal was the first person whom came to mind. It is a chic and glamorous moment that is pretty coming, but even better going. Amal really knows how to the the ante on her style. She isn’t exactly a predictable person. I never would have thought that she would wear Richard Quin foil ball gown with red carpet lady pants for the Met Gala. This is more of what I would expect to see from Amal, but from a designer we haven’t seen her bring to the red carpet yet. She tends to look to brands like Versace, Dior, Giambattista Valli, and Maison Margiela. Couture houses obviously, or vintage from William Vintage. But I think that when it comes to glamour not many do it as well as Zac and I definitely think that this slinky, figure hugging gown would deliver the glamour that I want to see from Amal on this red carpet. Style this gown with a loose updo, smokey eye, soft dark nude lip, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Purist’ metallic leather sandals, and a selection of IVY New York jewels including mandarin garnet and diamond ‘Euryalina’ earrings and a mandarin garnet and diamond cocktail ring to really make this another absolutely beautiful moment for Amal.
Catherine Zeta Jones did back to back movies with George back in 2003 and 2004 with Intolerable Cruelty and Oceans 12. She would be one of the perfect people to help celebrate George’s career. She loves a good Zuhair Murad gown and I think that this teal Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 Couture kimono inspired gown would be absolutely gorgeous. She has tended to favor black gowns recently, but I think that this color would look divine on Catherine. The dress is more of a statement than we are used to seeing from a guest on this red carpet, couture isn’t usually in play, but I think that if anyone could sell this look to me that it would be Catherine especially when paired with a pair of silver Jimmy Choo ‘Fawne’ criss-cross sandals, glamorous waves over one shoulder, smokey eyes that match the color of the gown, nude lips, and a pair of Cartier High Jewelry diamond chandelier earrings.
Emily Blunt was one of the famous faces who received an invitation to George and Amal’s wedding. She also stared in Wind Chill in 2007 which was produced by George and Steven Soderbergh’s production company Section Eight Productions so she is another one who I think would be a great addition to the line up of stars who should be on hand to help celebrate George’s career. I would imagine that Emily would take a more subdued track to glamour with this black one shoulder Oscar de la Renta Resort 2019 one shoulder gown which features white sequined polka dots, a defined cummerbund waist, column silhouette, and a sexy split. With every collection that Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim present as the creative directors of Oscar de la Renta I fall more and more in love. They continue to explore their take on the modern Oscar woman and this gown is definitely the perfect iteration of modern Oscar de la Renta glamour. I wouldn’t add much by way of statement styling adding a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a black velvet Tyler Ellis ‘Lily’ clutch, black Jimmy Choo ‘Annie’ peep toe sandals, a pair of gorgeous Hueb ‘Luminous’ black quartz and diamond drop earrings to really make this an absolutely beautiful moment for Emily.
Jennifer Aniston has been in several projects both with and executive produced by George Clooney, it has even been rumored that George has played a part in trying to put both Jennifer and Brad Pitt back together. So I wonder if Jennifer and Brad (whom I am sure will salute his friend) will be in the same room together next Thursday, or maybe even at the same table. When it comes to high fashion Jennifer isn’t exactly a fashion plate. She often wears east and simple dresses and I think that she would be obviously drawn to this black velvet Brandon Maxwell Fall 2018 RTW spaghetti strap gown which features a sweetheart neckline, a maxi length hem, a column silhouette. This gown is simple and sexy and that is exactly what I tend to expect from Jennifer. I wouldn’t expect anything crazy out of the styling from Jenifer either. A black velvet Tyler Ellis envelope style clutch with gold hardware, a sleek ponytail, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Vavazou’ sandals would all be what I would expect to see Jennifer style this gown with for whatever red carpet she would walk.
If there is anyone who I am expecting, aside from Amal of course, to help fete George at his AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala is his former E.R. co-star Julianna Margulies, from his days on television. Since the end of The Good Wife Julianna has kept a relatively low red carpet profile, but I really do think that we will see her out and about on this red carpet next Thursday. One of the brands that Julianna has been loyal to her whole career was Narciso Rodriguez. With the designer receiving a CFDA Award honor this coming Monday I would love to see Julianna also pay a tribute to the brand on another red carpet. We don’t often see Narciso’s designs on the red carpet, but when we do it is usually a treat. I would love to see Julianna show up to honor George wearing this silver Narciso Rodriguez hammered silk gown crafted in bias-cut panels and features a cowlneck and cutout back showcasing the designer’s signature fluid lines. I had to go to the virtual racks of Barney’s New York to find a great Narciso Rodriguez gown for Julianna to rock on this red carpet. I think that styling this look with a sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a silver Rodo rectangle clutch, a pair of silver Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ sandals, and a selection of Van Cleef & Arpels jewels including a pair of vintage diamond and pearl drop earrings and an art deco diamond bracelet to really deliver nothing but head to toe glamour.
Shailene Woodley catapulted her film career thanks to the film The Descendants which earned George an Oscar nomination following a role in a hit ABC Family dramady. Since then Shailene has gone on to star in two major blockbuster films, A Fault In Our Stars and Divergent. So it is because of that idea that I think that we just might see Shailene step out on the red carpet to help celebrate George next week. Shailene’s stylist Ilaria Urbinati recently made and Instagram post that talked about how Georgina Chapman and her brand Marchesa should not be punished for the fact that Georgina was married to Harvey Weinstein, and idea that I totally agree with. After a long drought of not dressing a single a-list star since the Weinstein scandal broke was broken by Scarlett Johansson at the Met Gala. I would love to see Ilaria break out some Marchesa for Shailene to rock on this red carpet. I think that this black Marchesa Pre-Fall 2018 velvet suit which also features an organza pussy bow blouse would be a really chic moment for Shailene to bring to this red carpet. It isn’t overly fussy and I think that a suit would be a really great change of pace for her. I won’t say I love her new hair. Not many people can make bangs work, but I think that if she styled her hair into a romantic updo that this would be the perfect look to compliment her new hair. Simple defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘April’ glitter heel platform sandals, and Fred Leighton black jade and diamond hexagonal stud earrings all would really ensure that this is a really chic moment for Shailene.

All Aboard the La Pausa for Chanel Cruise 2019
After seasons of traveling for every pre-collection presentation Karl Lagerfeld has been showing more of these collection in Paris. For Cruise 2019 Captain Karl built a classic luxury liner in the middle of the Grand Palais and delivered a glam nautical collection that infused the classic Chanel codes and some edgy pieces that we don’t necessarily showcase the ideas that we have seen from Chanel in the past. We have already seen Chanel devotees Kristen Stewart and Vanessa Paradis snatch looks from this collection off the runway and wear them for events during the Cannes Film Festival. There are definitely some potentially major moments to come from a lot of the people we are used to seeing wearing Chanel, whether they are a paid face of the brand or just a really good friend.
Best Dressed at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival
The 2018 Cannes Film Festival came to a close this past Sunday and it definitely lived up to the expectations that I had for it. While there were some people like Uma Thurman, Riley Keough, Blake Lively, Elle Fanning, and Camila Cabello that I missed dearly there were still plenty of fashON moments over the course of the festival. A lot of looks I was never expecting and a lot of gowns I wanted to see worn over the course of the festival. Each of the jury members really shut down their wardrobes and so did the L’Orealista’s and the stars promoting films. Usually for one event I would just do a top 10 looks from the red carpets, but since Cannes is always PACKED red carpet wise I always have a hard time narrowing down the 150+ looks, so I bring the glam down to my favorite 21 looks over the course of the festival. There are looks worn for premieres, parties, and photocalls that just made me fall in love. Two looks from this list last year made my Best Dressed of the Year list, who do you think will be my favorites still come the end of the year?1) Cate Blanchett in custom Mary Katrantzou at the premiere of Cold War
