2018 London Film Festival: “Life Itself” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Life Itself is another headline gala of this years London Film Festival. The romantic drama follows a young New York couple from college romance to marriage and the birth of their first child and the unexpected twists of their journey which create reverberations that echo over continents and through lifetimes. The film first screened at the Toronto Film Festival and then was seen again at a screening in New York. The film will have its next screening as a gala premiere during the London Film Festival and I am really excited to see what the cast is going to bring to the red carpet. Olivia Cooke rocked a bold electric blue cocktail dress for the films screening at Toronto International Film Festival. I was really looking forward to seeing what Olivia was going to bring to this red carpet in Toronto after the major Calvin Klein moment she had earlier this year. I feel like if Olivia stepped onto this red carpet that if she stepped out for the London Film Festival premiere of Life Itself wearing this black lace Christopher Kane Spring 2019 RTW midi dress which features strong structured shoulders, a square neckline, a-line skirt, and crystal embellishments that she would be a major moment on the red carpet. This dress is a sexy and glamorous dress and I definitely think that Olivia would be able to sell it to me on the red carpet. A curled vintage inspired bob, defined eyes, dusty rose pink lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Betty’ crystal embellished strappy sandals, and Atelier Swarovski ‘Mosaic’ lab created diamond drop earrings would all add to the major edgy glamour of this look. Olivia Wilde rocked sexy and glamorous Alexandre Vauthier for the TIFF premiere and then was more dowdy in Andrew Gn for the films screening in New York. I want to see sexy Olivia back on the red carpet at the films gala premiere at the London Film Festival. I feel like we have seen this ruby sequin Julien Macdonald Spring 2019 RTW long sleeve column gown which features a dramatic plunging neckline, beaded lace up details, a dramatic center split, strong shoulders, and a midi length in a million colors mostly black, gold, and silver before but I think that it would be a really sexy and glamorous moment for Olivia to bring to this red carpet. Olivia has never worn a Julien Macdonald look on the red carpet, but I definitely think that the London Film Festival would be the perfect time for her to give us this moment. I think that with a loose wavy bob, defined smokey eyes, nude lips, a dark red Marchesa ‘Beth’ faceted glitter acrylic clutch, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ patent leather sandals, and a pair of Martin Katz diamond and ruby chandelier earrings that this would be one really major moment for Olivia.

The 2018 London Film Festival will open on Wednesday October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday October 21, 2018.

2018 London Film Festival: “A Private War” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

When it comes to fashion the London Film Festival can be all over the map. We can see everything dome simple cocktail moments to haute couture gowns come down the red carpets at the festival. It really depends on the location of the premiere and what category it falls under on the selection. A Private War is one of the headline galas of this years festival so I have expectations for great moments when it comes to the looks that will come down this red carpet. Rosamund Pike has been one I usually either love or loathe on the red carpet and I am praying that she will wow us once again when she steps onto this red carpet. She very well could bring something off of the Givenchy Spring 2019 RTW runway, which actually takes place tomorrow, since she has rocked Givenchy for both the Berlin Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival this year. I decided though to go for something else hot off the runway with this black Erdem Spring 2019 RTW beaded fringe ensemble which features a sleeveless bodice and a midi column skirt. While this isn’t the same bold look as the ombre feathers Rosamund wore in Berlin or the pink latex she wore at TIFF I think that this dress fits the vibe of the London Film Festival perfectly. It is a little more laid back and the vibe of London itself always makes me want to go dark. I think that this look would be perfection for this premiere if Rosamund styles it with a sleek updo, defined eyes, dark crimson lips, a black Ilsa maxi crystal clutch, black Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ strappy sandals, and a pair of Cartier diamond and onyx drop earrings.

The 2018 London Film Festival will open on Wednesday October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday October 21, 2018.

2018 London Film Festival: “Widows” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

After a two days of breaks for independent movie premieres we are back with another of the fall film festivals. The London Film Festival is the last of the major festivals (of course the AFI Fest will take place in November) for the year and I have to say that based on the films selected for this years edition we just may have our best LFF yet. The festival will kick off on Wednesday October 10, 2018 with a gala premiere of Steve McQueen’s latest film Widows. The cast brought the glam to the red carpet at Toronto Film Festival where they screened the film and I am really looking forward to what they will bring to the opening of the 2018 London Film Festival. I wasn’t thrilled with the Thom Browne gown that Cynthia Erivo wore for the TIFF premiere of Widows, but I do applaud her for always taking risks on the red carpet. She definitely likes to make a statement and take a risk so that is exactly what I did when picking the perfect gown for her to wear for the opening with this Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2018 Couture ensemble which features a strong shouldered velvet bodice, wide satin belt with a large crystal buckle. and a bold yellow high-low pleated bubble skirt. This isn’t about embellishments, print, or texture which is Cynthia’s usual MO. This gown is all about that dramatic yellow skirt. On most I wouldn’t think this gown event appropriate for the London Film Festival, but I think that if anyone could make it work on this red carpet it would be Cynthia. Where she could loose me with the look is the styling. I need her hair and makeup to be totally on point with this look. A sleek hairstyle, smokey eyes, and glossy red lips are the perfect beauty touches for this ensemble and I think that a pair of black Alexandre Vauthier ‘Josephine’ strappy crystal embellished pumps and a single Messika ‘Calypso Mono’ diamond waterfall ear cuff would really ensure that this look is perfection from head to toe. Elizabeth Debicki finally lived up to the hype behind her when she stepped out at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival promoting Widows wearing brands like Armani Prive and Prabal Gurung. I want to see that glamour continue when she steps out for the films opening gala premiere at the London Film Festival. I was starting to think of what I wanted to see Elizabeth wearing on this red carpet when I saw the images coming in from the Richard Quinn Spring 2019 RTW collection and the moment I saw this ice white Richard Quinn Spring 2019 RTW sleeveless flapper style midi dress which features intricate crystal beading I knew I had found it. I would typically pick a floor length gown for Elizabeth for a red carpet like this, but I think that this cocktail moment would just ooze glamour that it would totally work. Add a fingerwave updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, white Aquazzura ‘Purist’ sandals, and a pair of simple David Morris diamond chandelier earrings and Elizabeth would deliver this as a perfectly ethereal flapper moment. Michelle Rodriguez rarely gets me excited when she steps onto the red carpet and I don’t have high expectations for her doing that when she steps out on the red carpet at the London Film Festival premiere of Widows. She could easily step out wearing some sort of pantsuit and that is actually what I think is most likely. I would however be shocked and awed if she stepped onto this gala red carpet wearing this black sheer Romona Keveza Fall 2018 RTW long sleeve ballgown which features opaque seaming, nude lining, a plunging neckline, and a dramatic ball skirt. Michelle can do edgy glam really well and I think that is exactly what I think this gown would be on her. It is sexy and glamorous and I definitely think that Michelle would definitely be able to sell this gown to me on the red carpet especially when paired with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, nude pink lips, black Sergio Rossi ‘Amber’ cage sandals, and a selection of 18k gold and diamond jewels from Fernando Jorge including a pair of ‘Clarity’ diamond starburst drop earrings and a matching ‘Disco’ cocktail ring. I am really looking forward to seeing what we will see Viola wearing on the red carpet at the Widows premiere in London. Viola rocked a simple black column gown with a statement African beaded collar necklace for the films premiere in Toronto. For the London premiere I went for a bold and glamorous moment with this grape purple Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture strapless gown which features chic column draping, a cape styling, and a dramatic split. It is a dramatic and glamorous moment and I feel like it would be the perfect option for Viola to wear for the opening gala of a major film festival. I didn’t go  over the top with the styling wanting to let the gown be the real statement of the look. I think that her full curls, defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of violet purple Rene Caovilla embellished strappy sandals, and simple Harry Kotlar ‘The Vault’ diamond teardrop earrings would ensure this look is glamour defined from head to toe.

The 2018 London Film Festival will open on Wednesday October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday October 21, 2018.

“Venom” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

In the midst of fall festival seasons there is one big blockbuster Marvel movie coming out, Venom. To be completely honest this isn’t a tour that I am really excited for. It’s not like there is a major fashionista in the ranks of this film. I want to see glamour but don’t expect to see anything absolutely Best Dressed of the Year, or even Best Dressed of the Month worthy moments come down this red carpet. I cannot even tell you the last time I was really wowed by something that Michelle Williams has worn on the red carpet in a really long time. She has been stuck under the thumb of Louis Vuitton for years now and I don’t see a change to that happening anytime soon. So I went to my custom gowns file and found this black and white custom Louis Vuitton column gown which features an off the shoulder neckline, printed bodice, and an all over sequin construction. It is that beautiful moment that I know on some others I would make it would make it a best dressed worthy moment, but it isn’t very often that Michelle breathes life into anything. If Michelle could style this gown with her typical sleek pixie, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Vanity’ crystal embellished platform sandals, and Harry Winston ‘Cluster Drop’ diamond earrings I know it could be that major moment that Michelle could deliver, but I know that most likely she would wear this gown with nude lips and diamond studs.

The LA premiere of Venom will take place on Monday October 1, 2018.

“A Star Is Born” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

The promo tour for A Star Is Born has been BANANAS. From the film festival premieres in Venice and Toronto and then Monday’s premiere in LA I have been captivated with every single red carpet that has come around. Literally right now my whole Best Dressed of the Year list could be Lady Gaga and Elle Fanning. I am praying for another MAJOR red carpet tomorrow night when the cast travels to London.Valentino, Armani Prive, and Givenchy Couture so far this tour has been one dramatic gown right after another from the films star Lady Gaga. I have incredibly high expectations for what she is going to bring to the red carpet tomorrow night. While I have been looking pretty much exclusively at couture for Gaga to bring to this red carpet I was flipping through the new Moschino collection and it clicked that I should pick one of the major glam moments that came down the brands Fall 2018 RTW runway back in February. The line may be considered “old news” now, but the bold glamorous vibe that the collection exuded is exactly what I want to see Gaga bring to this red carpet tomorrow night. So I went back to that collection and this Tiffany blue silk and silver sequin Moschino Fall 2018 RTW asymmetrical gown which features jagged blocking, a single sleeve, column skirt, and a dramatic attached train. This is that bold gown that I really know that Gaga has the presence to really make work on the red carpet with effortless ease. It is perfect for her to bring for a major premiere red carpet like this and I think that with a sleek retro inspired updo, winged eyeliner, matte crimson red lips, a pair of silver Christian Louboutin ‘Choca Lux’ sandals, and David Morris diamond, paraiba tourmaline, and blue opal chandelier earrings that this will be just another major Best Dressed of the Year contender. Irina Shayk rocked simple and standard Atelier Versace chainmail gown for the Venice Film Festival premiere of A Star Is Born, she skipped the films screening at TIFF for New York Fashion Week, and was once again missing on Monday at the films premiere in LA. I would love to see Irina, who was just walking shows in Milan jet off to London to be on the red carpet with her partner Bradley Cooper. I went for classic sexy and glamour for Irina to wear on this red carpet with this cardinal red Zac Posen strapless gown which features a sweetheart neckline, pleated detailing on the bodice, and a trumpet silhouette. If anyone could really sell this look to me in an absolutely major way it would be Irina and I definitely think that is exactly what would happen. She would rock this gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, matching red lips, a pair of deep red Gianvito Rossi peep toe ankle strap pumps, and a statement Chopard diamond and ruby necklace and give us major Jessica Rabbit vibes.

The London premiere of A Star Is Born will take place on Thursday September 27, 2018.

2018 New York Film Festival: “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

We have reached the finale of my wishes for the 2018 New York Film Festival. I am wondering what the premiere of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs will bring since it’s one “fashionista” star Zoe Kazan skipped the films screening at the Venice Film Festival last month. If she doesn’t show up then there really isn’t anyone that I think will catch my eye. So for this red carpet I really want to see Zoe Kazan bring something romantic and flirty and that is why I turned to this black Brock Collection Spring 2019 RTW ‘Ophelie’ hand embroidered lace midi dress which features intricate floral hand embroidery throughout the bodice, an asymmetrical peplum waist, and a fitted lace skirt with an exaggerated layered hemline. Zoe has never worn Brock on the red carpet, but I think that this dress fits her typical red carpet aesthetic and while it isn’t a bold fashion moment like she could get from the likes of Valentino, Prada, or Schiaparelli I think that it would just work ever so glamorously for this red carpet especially when paired with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ patent leather sandals, and simple Fernando Jorge ‘Sequence Short’ diamond drop earrings.

The 2018 New York Film Festival opens September 28, 2018 and runs through October 14, 2018.

15 Looks From New York Fashion Week Spring 2019 I Want To See On The Red Carpet

New York Fashion Week ended three weeks ago and I am just finally getting around to posting the 15 looks from the new collections that I most want to see on the red carpet. I have to say that with many brands abandoning New York Fashion Week it was really boring this season. I wasn’t overly in love with any collection that came down the runway, but their were many individual looks that I did love. BOSS: BOSS made its return to New York Fashion Week for the first time since Jason Wu left the brand. The chic collection was designed by the in house team from the brands home in Germany. The collection was all about being loose and carefree and I really did love everything that it had to offer. My favorite look from the collection was this silk shift dress which features a plunging neckline loose fit, midi length, and abstract print and I think that someone like Laura Dern would really be able to sell this look to me on a red carpet.

Brock Collection: I’ve been really following Brock Collection since January of 2016 before it was even nominated let alone won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award. Every season I am ready to see what Kristopher and Laura Brock are going to send down the runway. It is always this western spirit done for the woman who loves both uptown and downtown vibes. Overall I would probably say that the brands Spring 2019 RTW collection ranked as one of my favorites of the whole of New York Fashion Week. They stepped away from an official NYFW venue for the first time opting to have a brunch show at a Le Coucou. I figure many of the looks from this collection will grace the red carpets, but I loved the idea of seeing Amy Adams rock this red carpet in this rust colored floral print twill ‘Othmana’ dress which features a fitted silhouette accentuated by an exaggerated asymmetric flare hem with raw-edge detailing and so that is the look that I most want to see hit a red carpet in the coming weeks and months.

Christian Cowan: Speaking of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Christian Cowan is a current nominee to take home the top prize this year. The young pop punk spirit of the brand has already attracted the likes of Beyonce, Janelle Monae, Iggy Azalea, and Cardi B. Christina Aguilera and Troye Sivan sat front row and the collection was just another mesh of glamour, street, stage, and edge that Cowan is known for. There are several looks from the collection I want to see on the red carpet, but it was the finale lilac suit with a matching ostrich feather stole that I immediately pictured on Cardi B. She wore an ensemble by Cowan for the cover of her first full album so why not up the game and give him a major red carpet moment too? Christian Siriano: Christian Siriano is always one of the most star studded shows of New York Fashion Week. This season he seated Danielle Brooks, Carmen Electra, Judith Light, Cynthia Nixon, Whoopi Goldberg, Tiffany Haddish, Sarah Hyland, and Kim Petras front row at his now. The collection was full of pops of bright neon and as soon as I saw this neon yellow tulle ballgown which features a sleeveless cutout bodice, tired skirt, and a dramatic train I knew it would be a major red carpet moment. I am praying that Sarah Hyland (or at least her stylist Brad Goreski) immediately went backstage after this show and put this gown on reserve for her to wear during awards season. It would be a perfect Golden Globes gown no?

Gabriela Hearst: I have been a slow boil to loving Gabriela Hearst, but I have to say that the designers Spring 2019 RTW collection really sold me on her. She mixed this classic uptown look with nods to the 20’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 90’s in a collection that we are bound to see on the red carpet. From the first look to the last look there are many red carpet moments within the ranks of this collection. The look I was immediately taken with from this collection was the white ‘Norah’ plissé cotton dress which features an asymmetrical neckline, a fitted bodice and a fluid pleated maxi skirt that opened the show. We have recently seen Dakota Johnson step out wearing more than just Gucci on the red carpet and I definitely could picture her really rocking this sporty yet chic dress on the red carpet.

Jason Wu Collection: For a while now I haven’t been as in love with Jason Wu as I was say 10 years ago when he really burst onto the scene dressing Michelle Obama for the Inaugural Balls. He has focused more and more on daywear over the years, so when I saw that he split his brands leaving just “Jason Wu” for great daywear and bringing the gowns and glamour via the “Jason Wu Collection” label. The collection was presented on mannequins amongst beautiful florals and then paired with a lookbook and I was really excited about all of the gowns and cocktail dresses on the red carpet. It was honestly hard picking just one of these looks to feature on this list so it really came down to who I could picture bringing the looks to life. When I saw this sky blue tulle halter gown which features 3D floral appliques on the bodice my mind immediately made me think of Dakota Fanning. She has been having some major moments on the red carpet recently and I think that this gown would definitely add to those ranks.Jonathan Cohen: This list full of emerging talent and I love it. While typically I would put just the big names on this list I give a lot of credit to the young emerging designers who have popped up in the last few years. We have really started to get to know Jonathan Cohen and I am really excited to see what his future has in store. He has earned the love and support of celebrity power stylist Cristina Ehrlich and she has put his brand on some of her clients including the gorgeous Greta Gerwig who wore a gown by the designer for the BAFTA Awards. I won’t lie I she was already in the back of my mind when I was flipping through the pictures of the collection and when I saw this marigold yellow and red silk chiffon ‘Whithering Heights’ gown which features a cinched waistline, draped elbow-length sleeves, and a pleated maxi-length silhouette I thought what a bold, bohemian, and glamorous moment for Greta to deliver on a red carpet.

Marchesa: As I have said many other times I am very shocked by how much Marchesa has been ostracized since the Weinstein scandal dropped a year ago. Some other brands (whom I will not mention by name) haven’t been as ostracized for things that are proven to come right out of the designers mouth, so why are we seeing Marchesa (more specifically Weinstein’s soon to be ex-wife and co-designer Georgina Chapman) being completely shunned? The brand opted to release a lookbook again this season over showing a runway presentation. The collection drew an illusion to a woodland fairy tale each frothy gown and cocktail dress was glamorous and elegant and definitely packed a punch. I saw this nude and navy ombré pleated ruffle tiered organza tea length gown teased on the Marchesa Instagram account and I was already in love it it and all of it’s jellyfish vibes. I thought long and hard about who I thought would be able to really make this dress come to life on the red carpet and I thought that young star Sofia Carson and her love of princess gowns would be the perfect match to really make this a very chic red carpet moment.

Michael Kors: Overall I was kinda disappointed in the Michael Kors Spring 2019 RTW collection. It was a great collection for people who want effortless looks to wear on the streets of tropical getaways like Ibiza, San Juan, Punta Cana, and Buenos Aries but not for bold red carpet moments. I was hoping for great details that could be used to create custom gowns for awards season, but the overall casual vibe of this collection didn’t give me much to work with. One of the looks I definitely think we could see on the red carpet is turquoise and lime metallic brocade ensemble which features a cropped jacket, a sleeveless crop top, and a pair of straight leg mid-length pants. It could make a bold moment for someone like Saoirse Ronan to wear for a press event for the promo tour for her upcoming movie Mary Queen of Scots. Novis: I first learned about Novis back in 2014 thanks to Taylor Swift. I was expecting the chic feminine looks that the brand turns out to become a more of a celebrity favorite than it ever did. I can’t actually tell you the last time I actually remember someone wearing a Novis look on the red carpet, or a look that I really wanted to see on the red carpet for that matter. That changed this season when I saw this white, pink, and red tulle cocktail dress which features a cap sleeve bodice and a tiered a-line skirt. It is such a chic and feminine look and I think someone like Natalia Dyer would be able to make it that perfectly sickly sweet moment that I know it should be on the red carpet.

Oscar de la Renta: Ahead of their Spring 2019 RTW show Oscar de la Renta creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim took several trips to destinations around the world including Dubrovnik, Marrakesh, Germany, Windsor, Mykonos, and Naples. The collection that came down the runway was all a testament to those travels. It looked like the perfect wardrobe of a world traveler and it was another of my favorite complete collections that came down the New York Fashion Week runways. Typically when it comes to Oscar collection being featured in my must see red carpet looks it is usually a dramatic gown or frothy cocktail dress that makes the cut. This time I was most taken with a more casual moment with this white one sleeve blouson tassel detail top and a scarf print wrap front fringe trimmed silk skirt. It is that really beautiful moment I think that with a promo tour for Aquaman coming up that this look should be put on reserve for the beautiful Amber Heard.

Ralph Lauren: While every other look on this list is a Spring 2019 RTW look this gorgeous gown from Ralph Lauren is actually a Fall 2018 RTW gown. A few seasons ago now Ralph decided he was going to start showing his collections in season with a see now buy now option. This season Ralph Lauren shut down the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park and celebrated 50 years in business with a show so star studded fashion industry insiders who usually reside front row were pushed to the second and third rows. There were over 110 looks in the show and so many covetable pieces. When I saw this multicolor impressionist print brocade a-line gown which features thin straps, a tinsel embellishment, and a sweeping train come down the steps and onto the Turkish rug covered runway my heart started to flutter. It was one of those really gorgeous gown moments and I definitely think that Yara Shahidi should put it on option for awards season. Rodarte: Despite the fact that it was pouring during the outdoor show Rodarte returned to New York Fashion Week in high style after showing both of their 2018 collections in Paris. It was the frothy and voluminous confections that we have come to love from Rodarte. Filled with lots of beading, crystals, and 3D floral embellishments. I am expecting a lot of really great red carpet moments to come from this collection and I definitely think that Tessa Thompson would sell this black and white flocked dot ruffle hem chiffon gown which features a plunging neckline and hand-beaded rose embroidery at the front waistline to me on a red carpet. She was one of the models for the brands Fall 2018 lookbook after all.

Tadashi Shoji: I had been really bored by seeing the same sort of thing constantly come down the runway from Tadashi Shoji, so I stopped making sure that it was one of my must watch live streams. After seeing the pictures of the brands Spring 2019 RTW collection I realized that was a mistake. I really loved it. The pink and purple ombré sequin column gown which features a v-neckline and a dramatic cape that closed the show was the look that I was really taken with. I feel like the obvious choice for this gown would be Kate Beckinsale (who does wear a lot of Tadashi), but I really think it would be a perfect plus one moment for Elizabeth Chambers to bring while helping her hubby Armie Hammer travel through awards season.

Tom Ford: Rounding out this list is Tom Ford, who ironically kicked off New York Fashion Week. I always crave sexy glamour from Tom Ford and that is exactly what he delivered. It was python, metallic fabric, floating chiffon, animal prints, and fringe for days. The collection is for strong, confident women and I am really excited to see who will bring to the collection to life on the red carpet. Lady Gaga has always been one of Tom Ford’s muses and I definitely think that at some point on the road to the Oscars (which I totally think she is on) that she will wear at least one look from this collection on the red carpet. I would love to see her carry this white draped fringe gown which feature cold shoulders, a v-neckline, crocodile leather corset waist, and a column skirt. It is the perfect modern glam moment for Gaga to rock on the red carpet.

So there you have it the 15 looks from New York Fashion Week Spring 2019 RTW that I most want to see on the red carpet. What do you think of them and who do you think would be the perfect person to bring them to life on the red carpet?

2018 New York Film Festival: “A Faithful Man” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

A Faithful Man has screened at the Toronto International and San Sebastian Film Festivals so far and its next stop is the New York Film Festival. I wanted to see the films stars really wow me while promoting this film because we don’t often see them on the red carpet, but I have to say I am rather bored with what they have brought to the red carpet while promoting this film. Will they up their game when they step out for the New York Film Festival? I don’t know. I’m keeping my hopes high, but my expectations low. Typically we just see French actress and model Laeticia Casta on the red carpet when she steps out as a L’Orealista during the Cannes Film Festival. Those looks are usually full of glamour and I want to see her bring that same level to the red carpet when she steps out for the New York Film Festival premiere of A Faithful Man. One brand that Laeticia almost always looks gorgeous wearing is Alexander McQueen and when I saw this black Alexander McQueen key-hole cut-out evening gown which features beetle-shaped beading at the shoulders and neckline, ruching at the waist, and swathes of jersey cascading to the floor I knew it was the perfect moment for her to bring to this red carpet. It isn’t the typical look we are used to seeing on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival, but I definitely think that if anyone could sell it to me it would be Laeticia. A sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, nude lips, defined cheeks, a black Alexander McQueen ‘Queen & King’ skeleton box clutch, and a pair of black and gold Alexander McQueen sandals all would add that chic and simple styling to this glamorous and edgy gown. I have been really disappointed in Lily Rose Depp during this promo tour. She has worn nothing but short sporty vintage Chanel looks. I want to see her bring something more glamorous to the red carpet when she steps out for the films premiere at the New York Film Festival. This silver/grey Chanel Spring 2018 Couture sleeveless column gown which features intricate being on sequin lace, pockets on the waist, and an ankle length hem still delivers that sportier style that she has been favoring, but also adds that glam factor that I am craving so much from Lily on this promo tour. I think that with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of silver Jimmy Choo ‘Fawne’ glitter sandals, and Chanel High Jewelry diamond lion head cluster earrings all would really ensure that Lily is back in my good graces with this ensemble.

The 2018 New York Film Festival opens September 28, 2018 and runs through October 14, 2018.

“A Star Is Born” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

This wish for the LA premiere of A Star Is Born was a last minute decision since I learned about an independent premiere in the capitol of film is actually tomorrow. So far we have only seen the film screen, to great applause (upwards of 11 minutes,) at film festivals. So I am really excited to see what will come when the red carpet opens in just over 24 hours in Los Angeles. From Valentino Couture to Armani Prive so far this tour Lady Gaga has topped my Best Dressed lists for Venice and Toronto. She has really wowed me rocking looks from Alaia, Valentino, Armani Prive, Iris Van Herpen, and Ralph & Russo while promoting A Star Is Born and I am really excited to see what she will wear for the films stand alone premieres coming up. For tomorrows premiere I went back to Gaga’s former stylist turned a-list designer and good friend Brandon Maxwell and his hot off the runway Spring 2019 RTW collection. I feel like we are destined to see Gaga wear at least one Brandon Maxwell ensemble on the red carpet between now and the Oscars and I would really love for it to be this petal pink strapless basket weave silk ball gown paired with a matching hooded silk gazar safari style bolero jacket. It isn’t what I would typically think of for Gaga, especially the cropped hooded jacket, but I definitely think that she would sell it to me with more than enough drama and glamour. A vintage inspired updo, winged eyes, punchy pink lips, blush pink velvet Marc Ellis crisscross platform sandals, and a selection of deGrisogono coral and diamond jewels including drop earrings and a matching cuff bracelet all would really make this that dramatic and glamorous moment I want to see Gaga deliver on this red carpet tomorrow night. Irina Shayk is director and star Bradley Coopers ultimate plus one and I am really interested in seeing what she will wear tomorrow night. She attended the films premiere in Venice wearing vintage Versace with Donatella Versace herself. For the premiere tomorrow night I went for another really sexy and glamorous moment picking this black and gold Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018 RTW gown which features a plunging halter neckline, low back, side slit, dramatic fringe, and slim rows of gold embellishment on a black background. I love this gown and while the commercial version doesn’t feature the fringe I think that for a red carpet that the fringe just adds another layer to the glamour of this look. I think that with sleek center parted hair tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, nude lips, a black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘J Box’ clutch, a pair of black Versace gold studded strappy sandals, and Mindi Mond ‘Clarity’ yellow gold set 5 strand diamond tassel earrings that this would be that sexy and glamorous moment we come to expect from Irina.

The LA premiere of A Star Is Born will take place on Monday September 24, 2018.

2018 New York Film Festival: “High Life” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

High Life screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and now will travel to the New York Film Festival. Something tells me that it will be one of the harder to attend events over the course of this festival because one of the co-stars is Robert Pattinson. This is the other film that Juliette Binoche has screening at the festival and I didn’t realize it until after I was done putting all my wishes for the festival together, but it is the second velvet skirt suit I’ve picked for her to wear as well. Both of Juliette’s films are set to screen on the same day so two different velvet suits could be fun. Both are couture and from brands that we typically see her wearing on the red carpet. When it comes to the premiere of High Life I would love to see Juliette wearing this navy Schiaparelli Fall 2018 Couture velvet skirt suit which features intricate silver beading on the jacket with a high neck and peplum hem and a pencil skirt with a daring split up the side. Its definitely very sexy and I glamorous and I definitely think that Juliette could really sell this look to me on the red carpet and I know that is exactly what would happen if Juliette would style the look with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a blue glitter Saint Laurent monogram clutch, and a pair of silver Gianvito Rossi ‘Poppy’ metallic leather sandals. On Thursday in Milan Prada showed their Spring 2019 RTW collection in Milan and I wonder who will be the first person to get their hands on the collection. I would love to see it be Mia Goth at the New York Film Festival premiere of High Life. Mia loves a good dark yet glamorous moment on the red carpet and I think that this hot off the runway black beaded paillette cocktail dress from the Prada Spring 2019 RTW collection which features a very daring plunging neckline and a knee length hem would definitely be just that. This dress is something a little sexier than we typically see what from Mia on the red carpet because of the neckline, but I think that even with just some slight modifications to the neckline that this look would be perfect for her to rock on this red carpet. She doesn’t do a whole lot of over styling with her looks. In fact I wouldn’t add much more than a sleek center parted hairstyle tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, nude lips, and simple black satin Prada sandals to really let the dress be the statement of this ensemble. I absolutely hated the shiny Dior Man ensemble that Robert Pattinson wore on the red carpet at the TIFF premiere of High Life. In fact I hated it so much that it very well could make him the first man to ever make my worst dressed of the year list. While I understand that he is under the thumb of Dior when it comes to his wardrobe thanks to his on going Dior cologne campaign but I want him to make smarter choices when it comes to his wardrobe. I went down the route of this black Dior Man Spring 2019 Menswear suit which on the runway was paired with a harness strap double breasted jacket, black floral button down, and a pair of matching shorts. I would swap those shorts for a pair of tailored trousers to make this look more formal. I would keep the floral shirt all the way buttoned up and tucked in, sans tie. A pair of black patent leather lace up Dior Man creepers all would ensure that Rob redeems himself on this red carpet.
