This is always a bittersweet moment. We have reached my final wish for a 2018 red carpet, and of course Amy Adams is the perfect person to finish out these wishes. I have heard that her performance in Vice, the story of former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, is most likely going to garner her an Oscar nomination, and with her appearance at the Academy Governors Awards earlier this month (in soft pink Schiaparelli) I think that is a pretty safe bet. So I wanted to make sure a put out a wish for her for the films premiere in LA, which the date for is still to be determined. 
Amy doesn’t usually make bold fashion choices. She always bring very chic and lady like glamour to the red carpet and I decided to stick in that box for her to bring to life on this red carpet too. I did however decide I wanted broaden Amy’s repertoire of designers. She has never worn Ashi Studio before, and that doesn’t surprise me, but when I saw this black textured strapless midi dress from the brands Fall 2018 Couture collection that has a corseted bodice and full skirt it just screamed Amy’s style to me. It isn’t the absolutely oversized and ruffled confections that we are used to seeing from Ashi on the red carpet, but I definitely think it fit’s Amy’s classic glam style to a T. I would want to see this gown styled old Hollywood waves worn over one shoulder, defined eyes, red lips, a black Judith Leiber Couture ‘Reflection’ resin faceted box clutch, black Christian Louboutin ‘Catchy Two’ cross strap platform d’orsay peep toe pumps, and a pair of Chopard diamond and emerald drop earrings to really ensure this look is perfection from head to toe.

Hailee Steinfeld has always been one of my favorite stars to see on the red carpet, and I have high expectations for what she will bring to the red carpet during the promo tour for Bumblebee. I currently only have a premiere date for Bumblebee confirmed in LA. While I was sold in the back on my mind I wasn’t sure a cocktail dress for a major blockbuster premiere like this was right, so I sent it to a few other red carpet critic friends and they all thought it was a very Hailee choice so I decided that my gut was right. Where I wasn’t succeeding was with finding the right accessories. I knew I wanted to keep things pretty matchy when it came to the shoes for this look, but I couldn’t find just that right pair. She doesn’t get the same level of couture, or even ready-to-wear, designers that some stars (like Hailee) get, but she always knows how to shut down a red carpet. It comes as absolutely no surprise that Lady Gaga will be on hand on Thursday night to celebrate her A Star Is Born director & co-star. I am uber excited that Gaga is going to have a major awards season run this year and I am expecting major red carpet moments. Recently she has been favoring more of an oversized wardrobe, but for this red carpet I went for form fitting and sexy glamour. I won’t lie when I say that I am already feeling like I don’t have enough options for Gaga worthy moments for awards season right now. I have been craving major couture moments, and she has delivered them in Valentino, Armani Prive, and Dior Couture, but I want even more. This dark crimson red Zuhair Murad Fall 2018 Couture column gown which features a dramatic structured bustier bodice with a plunging neckline, velvet waist band, peplum waist, off the shoulder sleeves, intricate embroidery, and sheer construction is exactly the kind of couture moment I am craving from Gaga. I have been in love with this gown for months now, since it first came down the runway in Paris back in July, but I hadn’t had the right person and event click for it. Until now. Is this gown something I would typically pick for an American Cinematheque Award Gala? Patricia Clarkson got naked in a tub with Bradley Cooper on stage when they performed in Elephant Man on Broadway in 2014, which ended up earning both of them a Tony Award nomination. She is confirmed to be among the many stars who will fete Bradley’s career on Thursday night. The two are close friends still and I am really excited to see what she will deliver. Last, but not least on this list is the gorgeous Sienna Miller who starred alongside Bradley in both Burn and American Sniper. I have long been a fan of Sienna’s style, but it has been a while since she has really wowed me on a red carpet. I want to see her bring the glam to the red carpet at the American Cinematheque Award Gala wearing this allover gold sequin Louis Vuitton ‘Song’ gown which features faux leather straps, a faux wrap style, v-neckline, and asymmetrical ruffles on one hip of the gown. Sienna isn’t exactly a face of Louis Vuitton, but she has been wearing the brand like she is one this year. I haven’t been a friend to LV or its ambassadors, but when I was on the LV website and saw this gown I asked where it has been. I honestly didn’t expect to see that dress rocked off the runway just because of how big the cutout is. Nicole Kidman hasn’t attended any of the press events for Aquaman since she joined the cast back in July at San Diego Comic-Con. I would only really expect to see Nicole on the red carpet promoting this film at major premieres like London and LA. I might have gone for a really dramatic couture gown for Nicole to wear in London, but for the LA premiere I was drawn to something a little more out there as a wish for Nicole than normally. I saw this white, black, and red Georges Chakra Fall 2018 Couture tuxedo which features a peplum blazer with a shawl collar, defined waist, and asymmetrical ruffled details and while there has to be tons of options from all of Nicole’s favorite designers I was just drawn to it. Amber Heard joined co-star Jason Momoa and director James Wan for the premiere of Aquaman in Beijing wearing an uber sexy Celine sequin mini. I wanted to go in a complete different direction than that for her to bring to life on the red carpet at the films major red carpet premiere in London. I really want a dramatic gown and that is exactly what we would get if Amber stepped onto this red carpet wearing this grey and white Stephane Rolland Spring 2018 Couture strapless gown which features a structured sweetheart neckline, silver metal fringe, a chiffon overlay, and a dramatic train. The gown is something that I think that Amber would be able to sell to me on this red carpet. She has never worn Stephane Rolland before, and I don’t think that her stylist Karla Welch has ever used the brand before either, but I really do believe that she would sell it to me. Nicole Kidman isn’t usually someone who I associate with big blockbuster movies. I am really interested in seeing what she will do for the red carpets during this promo tour. I have been waiting for the right moment to pick this grey Atelier Versace Fall 2018 Couture gown which features strong shoulders, a v-neck, long sleeves with feathered cuffs, intricate beading, and a feathered skirt for Nicole for a long time. I first saw this gown in video or photos posted to Instagram from the private Atelier Versace presentation back in July. I immediately thought of what a perfect moment for Nicole it would be. It is beautiful. This is one of the more ‘fashion forward’ looks I’ve ever picked for Nicole, but for a major blockbuster premiere I think this would be the perfect moment. While I went for simple, yet bold, glamour from Oscar de la Renta for Emily Blunt to wear for the films premiere in LA I went for something much more dramatic and regal for her to wear on the red carpet at the London premiere. We don’t often see Emily go for big ball gowns on the red carpet, but I was just immediately drawn to this metallic gold brocade Valentino Fall 2018 Couture ball gown which features a sheer baroque inspired sleeveless bodice, pockets!, and a long dramatic train. I really do think that the drama of this gown is perfect for a major blockbuster. I definitely think that while it isn’t what we expect from Emily on the red carpet that the has the regality and presence to really make this gown come to life on the red carpet. For Meryl Streep I went in a complete opposite direction for the London premiere of Mary Poppins Returns versus what I picked for her to wear for the premiere in LA. I thought that for London a lot more glamour was needed. So I took the red and pink color scheme I picked for Emily to wear in LA and thought it would be perfect for Meryl courtesy of this Givenchy Fall 2018 Couture gown which is almost two totally different gowns meshed together. The blush pink is soft and draped and the the red is strict and fitted perfectly. This gown is definitely more “fashON” than anything that we have seen Meryl wear in a long time, but every once in a while she takes a major risk. I definitely think this is a risk, but one I think would have a major impact. I would almost want Clare Waight Keller to swap the half metal waist band for a contrasting red waistband because the metal doesn’t really scream Meryl. A

I started to learn who Eiza Gonzalez was last year, then she rocked a few red carpets oozing modern sensual glamour during awards season. Gwendoline Christie is one who I always have high expectations for, but often she doesn’t hit the stride I am hoping for. The six foot three inch tall actress literally looms large on the red carpet. She definitely has the height to make anything work and even with that she often falls short of expectations. I decided to go for a more “casual” style for Gwen to wear on this red carpet with this marigold yellow Peter Pilotto Spring 2019 RTW silk charmeuse midi dress which features a scarf tie neck, long voluminous sleeves, a printed scarf print belt, and an a-line skirt. I was having a hard time picking the right dress for Gwendoline. Her history had a lot to do with it, but despite the more casual nature, especially in comparison to the dresses I’ve picked for Gwendoline’s co-stars, I thought that this dress would be perfect for her to bring to life. I always love a good Janelle Monae sighting on a red carpet and so I am really excited to see what she is cooking up for her appearance at the premiere of Welcome to Marwen. She has been working with a new stylist this year. She has also been wearing a lot more color this year. Janelle was known for her pretty much exclusive use of black and white on the red carpet, with just a few sprinklings of red or pink in the mix. She shocked me earlier this year when she stepped out for the BET Awards wearing a bold Nicolas Jebran rainbow gown. For the premiere of Welcome to Marwen I went back to the black and white box with this bold and flirty Carolina Herrera Spring 2019 RTW cocktail dress which features sheer panels, a polka dot pattern, high neck, flutter sleeves, and a mini length a-line skirt. I immediately went to Carolina Herrera for Janelle because of her history with the brand on the red carpet. Janelle in Herrera is almost always a match made in heaven and now that the brand is being designed by Wes Gordon that the match is even more perfect. Leslie Mann is one of the most underrated stars on this list. She always brings bold statements to the red carpet, even red carpets where I question who invited her, and usually looks absolutely beautiful. For the premiere of Welcome to Marwen I would love to see Leslie bring this aqua blue Giorgio Armani Spring 2019 RTW strapless tea length gown which is rendered in a pleated metallic printed fabric.
