2019 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 10

We have come to my final set of wishes for this years Oscar parties. We are close to kicking off my main ceremony wishes! I hope you are all so excited because I know I am! Danai Gurira has surprisingly not been confirmed to attend the Oscars ceremony as a presenter yet. She was a guest last year and has been on every red carpet this awards season where her film Black Panther has been nominated. I am working on something beautiful, glamorous, and dramatic for her to wear on the red carpet whether she attends the ceremony as a guest or a presenter. For the Vanity Fair Oscar Party after the telecast I decided to go for something simple, glamorous, and edgy with this black Gabriela Hearst Fall 2019 RTW one shoulder draped gown which features a woven leather bustier. Danai exclusively wore Gabriela Hearst on Oscar night last year with two looks one for the ceremony and one for the Vanity Fair party. I don’t necessarily want to see her wearing two Hearst designs again this year but when I saw this black gown come down the runway I immediately thought it would be the perfect party look for Danai to wear on Oscar night. Pair it with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, bold glossy red lips, a charcoal Tyler Ellis ‘Lily’ marbled plexi clutch, a pair of black crystal embellished Gianvito Rossi ankle strap sandals, and Hueb ‘Luminous’ diamond cluster earrings and it would be the perfect balance of edge and glamour. Avengers star Karen Gillan is one of the many stars who named as a co-host for the 2019 Elton John Oscar Party and I am super excited to see what she will bring to the red carpets this year. Last year Karen rocked a fantastical Ronald Van Der Kemp gown for both the Elton John and Vanity Fair party. This year I want to see her bring two different looks. For Elton John I would love to see Karen snatch this black Marc Jacobs Fall 2019 Couture strapless crystal embellished a-line tea length gown right off the runway. I loved this collection and I am excited about seeing it on the red carpet. While I love the puffy bolero that the dress was paired with on the runway I would think that Karen would wear the gown without it on the red carpet. Old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a black Jimmy Choo ‘Fascinator Cloud’ cream feather embellished clap clutch, a pair of black satin Jimmy Choo ‘Santina’ embellished block heel platform sandals, and simple vintage Fred Leighton topaz strand necklace I think would all ensure that this look is absolute perfection on Karen. For the Vanity Fair party I want to see Karen give us edgy drama wearing this black, white, and red Givenchy Spring 2019 Couture gown which features a floral embroidered cape like bodice, defined boning, peplum waist, and a sheer skirt. This look is definitely one that could go very wrong based on who is wearing it. Karen has this effortless glamour about her so I honestly believe it would be a perfect look for her to bring to life on the red carpet especially if she paired it with a sleek side parted low bun updo, defined eyes, red lips, an oxblood red satin Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ clutch, simple black Jimmy Choo ‘Mimi’ strappy sandals, and a pair of Nikos Koulis ‘Oui’ collection earrings with pear shape and emerald cut rubies, pear shape, oval and emerald cut white diamonds and black enamel.Patricia Clarkson had a major start to awards season picking up both a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Award for her performance in the HBO limited Series Sharp Objects. Typically Patricia is a frequent guest at the Vanity Fair Oscar party and I really want to see her rock the red carpet again this year. It would be her first Oscar night with her new stylist Victor Blanco who dressed her in couture for every single major red carpet this year. So with the hope that two will bring some glamour to the Oscar night red carpets I wanted to put a wish out into the universe. Patricia and Victor love couture so I had no qualms about picking this electric blue Zuhair Murad Spring 2019 Couture art deco pattern wrap style gown which features long sleeves, a plunging neckline, strong shoulders, intricate embroideries, and a thin belted waist. It isn’t the dramatic trained gowns that Patricia has worn this season, but I think that since this is just a night of fun that this gown is perfect. The gown is so dazzling all on its own that I would just had Patty style it with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a matching cobalt blue Judith Leiber Couture ‘Cherry Cayman’ crocodile clutch, a pair of cobalt blue satin Manolo Blahnik x Vetements pointed toe ankle wrap pumps, and vintage Harry Kotlar diamond cluster earrings. Priyanka Chopra knows to do glamour and drama on the red carpet and I am really interested in seeing what she might bring to the red carpet on Oscar night. With her romantic comedy Isn’t It Romantic having just been released I would imagine the studio would want her to keep up appearances. Priyanka has attended two Oscar’s before and had chic moments on the main ceremony red carpets, but she didn’t win the red carpets at the parties. I don’t know if she will be at the main ceremony, but if she is on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party this year I am ready for Priyanka to bring the drama and glamour to the red carpet. I normally wouldn’t pick something like this plum taffeta Ralph & Russo Spring 2019 Couture off the shoulder mermaid gown which features ruffled sleeves, a peplum skirt, bow detail on the front, and a dramatic train for the Vanity Fair party. It it more of a main ceremony gown, or something that would be saved for Cannes, but I saw it and the thought of Priyanka wearing this gown made sure that I was sold on the idea. I definitely think that she would easily make this a major red carpet moment and why not go big or go home? A sleek updo, smokey eyes, soft antique rose pink lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Rosie’ platform sandals, and statement vintage Van Cleef & Arpels amethyst, pink coral, and diamond teardrop earrings from the 1960’s would all ensure that Priyanka definitely owns this red carpet. Last but not least is the gorgeous Zoe Saldana who is on the co-host list for this years Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party. She has always been a big supporter of AIDS research charities and I would love to see her on the red carpet this year. I was watching the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2019 RTW show on Instagram Live looking for Oscar night gowns and saw this black velvet long sleeve gown which features intricate asymmetrical gold and red embroidery and a gold fringe skirt. It isn’t a ceremony gown, but I think it would be a perfect party look. Now Zoe was the first person to pop into my mind as the perfect person to wear this gown, but it might have something to do with the custom YSL gown that she just wore for an amfAR gala earlier this month that also had a similar style with a fringe skirt. Now could it be too soon for Zoe to be able to wear this after wearing that gown? Maybe, but I definitely think that she would be able to rock it. I also think that knowing Zoe’s personality that she would not change out of this gown into something else for the Vanity Fair party. I would add a romantic low chignon, smokey eyes, dark red lips, a black, gold, and red sequin embroidered Oscar de la Renta ‘Rogan’ satin box clutch, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi crystal embellished mesh and suede ankle strap d’orsay sandals, and simple antique Fred Leighton Victorian diamond pendant earrings to really ensure that Zoe has an absolutely beautiful moment.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party will take place on Sunday February 24, 2019.
