2019 D23 Expo Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

I have just two more days of wishes for the 2019 D23 Expo. This event brings all the rumors in the Disney Universe and confirms or denies them. This includes movies, television, video games, theme parks, Star Wars, ABC, and more! It is definitely one of the fun casual events, but it only takes place every two years. So I start looking at not only what is confirmed to be coming in the next couple of months, but also things that are expected to be released over the next two or three years. The two films in today’s wishes are an example of that. One is set to be released in just a couple of weeks while the other isn’t expected until late summer next year, but they are still expected to be lauded at D23 all the same. Today hosts my second of three wishes for Angelina Jolie to wear over the course of the 2019 D23 Expo. I wonder if there will be different panels for all of Angie’s projects with Disney, and it’s affiliate studios, or if there will be just one. I am hoping that Angelina will have several looks to serve over the three days of the expo. Yesterday I talked about what I would love to see Angelina wearing to promote Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and today we move on to The One And Only Ivan which honestly until I looked at movies produced by Disney I had no idea that it was a thing. I definitely want to see Angelina deliver super chic fashion moments on the D23 stage and I think that is exactly what we would see if she took to the stage wearing this deep purple silk Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2019 long sleeve dress which features a high neck, keyhole cutout, pleated details, buttoned cuffs, and an a-line midi length. The color is gorgeous and is one of the rich tones that I think Angelina delivers so well, when she ventures out of her black, white, and champagne colored box. This chic very classic style dress paired with chic waves, defined eyes, and soft pink lips are what I would definitely expect to see Angie style this dress with. Personally I would add a pair of rose pink to black ombre sequin Tom Ford pointed toe pumps to really tie this look together in a really dazzling and glamorous manner for Angie to grace the stage at D23. Frozen 2 is definitely going to be featured on the stage at D23 and I am very interested in seeing what the cast will bring with them to promote the film in Anaheim. Idina Menzel is the now iconic Queen Elsa in Frozen and I am very interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpets in the coming weeks as the film prepares to be released. I decided to go a little kitschy picking this ice blue metallic Roland Mouret ‘Carilo’ midi dress which features cross-over neck ties, long blouson sleeves, a wrap style a-line skirt, and a soft V-shape slit at the front for Idina to wear for D23. I know it is a high fashion take on her character, but if you can’t do that on the stage at a Disney conference then when? Finish this look with chic waves, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and a pair of silver Stuart Weitzman ‘Anny’ metallic pointed toe pumps and I know that this would be the perfect moment for Elsa, I mean Idina to wear for this event. Now the obvious second choice for the Frozen 2 panel at D23 is Kristen Bell, who plays Anna. Honestly I had a feminine and flirty dress on this list for her, but I wasn’t feeling it as I was writing this list. Instead I decided to skip over Kristen and jump straight to Evan Rachel Wood who is joining the cast of the film for this sequel. I want to see Evan bring a real FASHION moment to the D23 stage wearing this Proenza Schouler Resort 2020 ensemble which features a black stretch suiting novelty lapel blazer with a gold button tucked into a pair of khaki wool double belted high waisted pants. It is definitely more of a coveted fashion moment and would be quite unexpected. I think a sleek side parted hairstyle, defined eyes, dark burgundy lips, and the black tie leather Proenza Schouler ankle boots that the look was styled with in the lookbook would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

The 2019 D23 Expo will take place from Friday August 23, 2019 to Sunday August 25, 2019.

2019 D23 Expo Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

The D23 Expo is definitely an event where casual fashion and a bit of whimsy come together. I am super excited to see what everyone who will make the journey to Anaheim, California for this event will bring to the stage to promote their films. While my lists for this event have been relatively short by my typical standards I am sure that we are going to see a lot of stars on this stage. I try to set my expectations for every red carpet event realistically, but I feel like the stars who have projects that I am expecting that the fashion will definitely be on point. Following the surprising, but oh so welcome, casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel in the live action remake of The Little Mermaid I would be surprised if Disney doesn’t capitalize on that momentum to bring the young songstress to the D23 stage. We could also see some of the casting rumors for this film confirmed, or up-heaved again. I am ready to see Halle shine on her own. Literally I could not find a single red carpet photo where she isn’t attached at the hip to her sister Chloe Bailey. Halle, seen right in the velvet mini dress above, seems to have a very feminine style. That being said all of her red carpet looks have been styled in conjunction and to compliment what Chloe is wearing too. I know they are close, but I want to see their style shine on an individual level as well as a duo. For D23 I would love to see Halle take the stage wearing this white guipure lace Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2020 cocktail dress which features structured short puffy satin sleeves, a collar neckline, cutout v, and a black lining. It is flirty and feminine while also being structured and dramatic. I think it would be an amazing moment for Halle to bring to life as her first major solo red carpet appearance. Now typically I would pick silver, pink, or white shoes to compliment this dress, but for the sake of Halle playing Ariel I decided to go with a pair of dark red metallic crackled leather Sergio Rossi ‘SR Milano’ pointed toe pumps. A bun of braids, defined eyes, and glossy lips would finish this look perfectly to really ensure that Halle owns this stage. Black Widow was just officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con and is expected to be released in May of next year. I am hoping that means that Scarlett Johansson will be in attendance at D23 this year to help continue to build buzz for the film. I am starting to love ScarJo’s wardrobe choices again after a long period of being rather underwhelmed. She has been killing looks so far this year and I want to see that continue at D23. I went sexy and effortless with this terracotta orange Versace Fall 2019 RTW off the shoulder cutout satin dress which features A-line silhouette, long sleeves, a slim cutout at the chest, a thigh high split, and a metallic chain at the front for Scarlett to wear on the D23 stage. It is definitely more sexy than I would typically pick for a daytime event like D23, but if anyone could make this look come off as effortless it would be Scarlet especially if it was styled with a loose wavy bob, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of gold Tom Ford ‘Padlock’ metallic leather pointed toe pumps. Angelina Jolie has several projects coming out in conjunction with Disney so following her appearance at the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con I am definitely hoping to see the actress on the stage at D23 next month. Out of all her current projects in queue I would most expect Angie to be at D23 to promote Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The much anticipated sequel is expected to be released in October and I am just praying that Angelina shuts down the world of fashion as she promotes the film. The first tour saw Angie wearing Atelier Versace almost exclusively. I loved the looks she wore for that tour, but I want to see a little more variety this go around. I am starting my wishes for her with a black dress. Now I am usually all about Angie pushing her color boundaries, but given the fact that the Maleficent wardrobe is typically black and it is Angie’s go to color I think that most of what I will pick for her for this tour will be black. That being said this black Tom Ford cape-back jersey cocktail dress which features a high neck, long sleeves, and a knee length is definitely not your basic LBD and I know with Angie’s regal elegance that this look would be effortless and cool. Pair it with a sleek bun, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Tom Ford crystal embellished bow detailed velvet pumps and I know Angie will make my heart swoon. Elle Fanning has already had a major year in terms of style this year with her run as a juror at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. The year isn’t over yet though and I am holding my standards high for what she is going to bring to the red carpets over the course of the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil promo tour. I have a feeling that the press tour for this film will kick off with the D23 Expo later next month. For the stage at D23 I would love to see Elle give us feminine elegance wearing this blue, peach, and white contrast gingham Prabal Gurung Resort 2020 midi dress which features an A-line silhouette, sweetheart neckline, butterfly sleeves, and contrasting panels. I saw this dress and it immediately clicked as a perfect moment for Elle to bring to life on this red carpet. A sleek high bun, defined eyes, punchy pink glossy lips, and a pair of silver and gold Sophia Webster ‘Daria’ PVC detailed pointed toe metallic leather pumps would definitely finish this look in the perfect flirty and feminine manner.

The 2019 D23 Expo will take place from Friday August 23, 2019 to Sunday August 25, 2019.

2019 D23 Expo Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

D23 might be just under a month away, and I might not have confirmations of panels yet, but given the fact that we are gearing up for a lot of red carpets to happen over the next several weeks I wanted to put some wishes out into the universe for this years expo. We have seen stars bring some really chic casual moments to the stage at D23 in the past, and I am definitely hoping that this year will be the most fashionable yet. I would say that after the amazing fashion run at Comic-Con earlier this month that we are in store for some great style this fall and D23 is definitely going to be a stop to watch. Emily Blunt was at the last D23 two years ago to support her film Mary Poppins Returns and I would be surprised if she isn’t in Anaheim this year to promote her next Disney film Jungle Cruise, which is expected to be released next summer. I want to see Emily bring lady like elegance to the D23 stage wearing this burnt orange Andrew Gn Resort 2020 midi dress which features an asymmetrically draped neckline, a matching belted waist, and an a-line skirt. This chic and classic moment is an absolutely perfect moment for Emily and I definitely believe it would be the right fit for her to wear for D23 especially if paired with chic waves, defined eyes, blush pink lips, and a pair of nude suede and PVC Aquazzura ‘Magic’ lace up sandals. Daisy Ridley has been at D23 for the last two expos to help present Star Wars and I would bet that given the fact that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is being released this December that she will once again be in attendance. I have long been a fan of Daisy’s style on the red carpet and I am definitely excited to see what this she and her stylist Samantha McMillen are cooking up for this tour. She has worn very lady like looks for D23 in the past, and for this years expo I decided to go with a chic moment that gives more of a deconstructed menswear inspired moment with this white and cream Monse Resort 2020 ensemble which features a sleeveless cotton blend top with a relaxed fit, high collar, contrast top-stitching, and button detailing and a a button detailed wool blend mini skirt. I have long been a fan of Monse and this look, which opened the brands first ever resort show, reminded me of the menswear inspired looks that made me fall in love with the label just 4 short years ago. I definitely can picture Daisy rocking this ensemble for D23 with a chic wavy bob (or faux bob depending on how long her hair has gotten), defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ PVC detailed d’Orsay pointed toe pumps. Billie Lourd is definitely one of the more underrated stars on the red carpet. I personally tend to love what she is wearing and I hope she will be in Anaheim for D23 this year. I decided to go right off the rack for Billie for this event picking this black micro polka dotted Diane Von Furstenberg silk chiffon slip style ankle length wrap dress. I think that this very feminine, but also slightly grungy, dress is perfect for Billie’s sense of style. She loves a very laid back approach to femininity and I feel like this dress is the right look for this very casual event. I would style the dress with a sleek bun updo, thick defined eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of black suede Jimmy Choo ‘Peachy’ platform ankle strap sandals to make sure that Billie delivers the perfect balance of grunge and femininity on this red carpet.

The 2019 D23 Expo will take place from Friday August 23, 2019 to Sunday August 25, 2019.

2019 D23 Expo Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

D23is the official fan club for The Walt Disney Company. Founded in 2009, the organization is known mainly for its biennial exposition event, the D23 Expo. The name D23refers to D for Disney and 23 for 1923—the year Walt Disney founded the company. Basically the D23 Expo is the event where the imagineers from Disney layout their plans for the parks, television, and movies for the next two years. With so many major films set to come out over the next two years from Disney, and its affiliate studios, I am super excited to see what films are going to be lauded and who will be on the stage to help celebrate them. I am super excited about Cruella coming next year. So far of the casting we only know that Emma Stone will play the title villainess and that she will be joined in the film by the iconic Emma Thompson. I was excited when I heard rumors that Cruella was happening, but when they announced that Emma Stone was playing Cruella herself I was over the moon. Emma has long been one of my favorite actresses, and we get a major bonus knowing that she has an amazing sense of style. That being said I hate the fact that Emma is chained down to a Louis Vuitton contract. I rarely find that her LV looks live up to the expectations that Emma has set for herself over her storied red carpet career. I do realize that we are most likely going to continue to see Emma wearing Louis Vuitton for the bulk of her red carpet appearances. I turned back to the label for D23 if she makes the journey to the expo with this black and white blurred floral print Louis Vuitton above the knee dress which features a structured top with a flowing skirt. The top rendered in jersey – features a rectangular bib framed by leather inserts, 3/4 length puffy sleeves, and adorned with pleats and marker-style thread embroidery while the wool-twill skirt features an a-line style. Ultimately I feel like this is a youthful and modern take on the Cruella style of dress and while it could be a little kitschy I think that for the D23 Expo stage I think that it would make for a super chic moment for Emma. With a sleek casual bun, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of red suede Christian Louboutin ‘Alminette’ pointed toe curved heel pumps I just imagine this being an absolutely major moment for Emma.  Thor: Love and Thunder was announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month and was done so to major shock and awe when Natalie Portman was announced as the next, and first female, Thor. We are expecting to see Thor: Love and Thunder released in November of 2021, so that might mean that the film won’t be lauded at D23 this year in favor of it being celebrated closer to its release since there will be another D23 Expo that year, but I personally would love to see them keep the momentum going that they just started at Comic-Con. I am really hoping that Natalie brings her a-game to the red carpet over the course of this promo tour. Her chic Dior mini dress at Comic-Con makes me hopeful. I decided though for the stage at the 2019 D23 Expo that I wanted to see Natalie step away from Dior picking this black Altuzarra Resort 2020 suit which features a blazer with red topstiching and a camel leather tie instead of buttons. I think that this sleek suit is definitely something I can picture on Natalie and for an occasion like this I think that the strong suit moment is perfect. Finishing the look with a beach wave bob, defined eyes, glossy blush pink lips, and a pair of black Dior ‘D-Sculpture’ gold heel pointed toe leather pumps would definitely make this the perfect moment for Natalie to bring to life on this stage. Tessa Thompson is set to star alongside Natalie Portman in Thor: Love and Thunder and I am really excited about that. I love me some Tessa on the red carpet and I am super excited that she delivers major fashON moments while promoting the film. At Comic-Con earlier this month Tessa wore a beaded fringe Gucci dress with miss matched platform pumps so I would say her lewks are off to a good start. I won’t lie I had a hard time picking a look for Tessa. I went all over the map looking for the perfect moment for her to bring to life on the red carpet at the D23 Expo. I kept coming back to this Anna Sui Resort 2020 blazer look which features a black and red window pane plaid double breasted blazer, a printed white t-shirt, and black lace skirt. We don’t see a whole lot of Anna Sui on the red carpet, but the designers styles definitely fit red carpets like this. I even love the patent leather bow had that the look was paired with in the lookbook. I would probably keep it adding a ponytail of braids, defined eyes, deep wine red lips, and a pair of black Gucci crystal embellished leather platform ankle boots to really make sure that this look is equal parks grunge and glam for Tessa to bring to life on this red carpet.

The 2019 D23 Expo will take place from Friday August 23, 2019 to Sunday August 25, 2019.

2019 Television Critics Association Awards Red Carpet Wish List

Before we start getting into multiple day wish lists tomorrow I have a list for one of the smaller awards events that is coming up. The Television Critics Association Awards are an awards show that I typically gloss over and if the nominees had been any less fabulous than they were this year I would have skipped right over this list. It has only one acting category and I definitely think that the winner is invited in advance. I don’t know if we can expect to see all the stars on this list at the event since they are all from just two categories. Despite that fact I definitely have some wishes for the ladies nominated to bring to life on this red carpet. Here we go!Amy Adams is nominated for her performance in Sharp Objects. I was honestly expecting to see Amy sweep awards season and then finish with an Emmy for her role in the HBO mini series, but it seems Amy’s curse is upon her and she is being passed over for wins yet again. If she isn’t going to win the trophy I at least want to see her win the red carpet. For the Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards I went with a classic Amy shape with this strapless Brandon Maxwell pencil tea length dress which features frayed trip on the neckline, but it does it in a very different way for her being rendered in black and white animal print silk. I know that the cheetah print isn’t usually something that Amy would wear on a red carpet, but I think that the chic silhouette and the fact it is all black and white that this gown would work perfectly for this red carpet. Sleek old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a black satin Christian Louboutin ‘Palmette’ clutch, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies’ embellishes lace mesh pointed toe pumps, and Hueb ‘Luminous’ diamond cluster earrings are what I would add to this look to make sure that this look is absolute perfection for Amy from head to toe. Jodie Comer from Killing Eve is one I am really excited to see on the red carpet this fall. Her journey to the Emmy’s is expected to start at the TCA Awards and I just hope her fashion choices are better than they have been. I haven’t liked looks from labels like Ralph & Russo and Giambattista Valli that Jodie has worn this year and honestly it shocks me. She is an absolutely gorgeous woman and those are some of my favorite labels, but the looks from them that she has chosen have done her no favors. I want to see her deliver some uber chic moments on the red carpet in the coming weeks and this is the red carpet where that journey should start. Now for this red carpet I decided to stick with the more feminine and bohemian styles that Jodie has embraced for many of her looks this year opting for this antique white Brock Collection Resort 2020 lace and organza peplum midi dress which features a ruffled bustier top, peplum waist, ties at back, and thin straps. I believe that it is the perfect look for Jodie as it will still fit her figure. Many of her looks have overwhelmed her frame, but this look would not. A loose romantic updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Oscar C’ mirrored leather criss-cross sandals, and Hanut Singh ‘Lotus Buds’ drop earrings which feature green amethysts, diamonds, and vintage pearls with gold chain detailing would all make this the perfect flirty and feminine bohemian moment for Jodie to bring to life on this red carpet. I go back and forth about whether or not I am excited to see Michelle Williams on the red carpet this fall awards season. She is a loyal devotee to Louis Vuitton, and often times I find her looks underwhelming but I am hopeful that as one of the “movie stars” nominated for her performance on Television that will mean she brings super chic “movie star” moments to the red carpet in the coming weeks. Now typically the TCA Awards red carpet is more of a laid back cocktail or simplistic gown moment. As you can see in this list I have gone more for a cocktail moment for everyone, until now. Over the summer so far my photoshop wiz Evita has been slaying the days creating all kinds of custom fashion moments for me to use for the next several months. I had her keep Michelle in mind as I figured that she would be seen a lot over the coming weeks as her performance in Fosse/Verdon is being celebrated. I was sitting at my desk at my day job as Evita was sending me her edits and when I saw this custom Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 metallic lurex gown which features an embellished neckline, Chrysler building inspired print on the bodice, and and a simple silhouette I got really excited. It is an absolutely glamorous moment and I feel like it would make for a chic moment for Michelle to wear on this red carpet. She doesn’t really breathe life into gowns so they have to do a lot of the work for her and I definitely think that this gown would be able to do the work. Finish it with a sleek side parted pixie, thick defined eyes, red lips, black Louis Vuitton ‘Overnight’ crystal embellished monogram chain strap platform sandals, and a pair of Louis Vuitton High Jewelry ‘Le Royaume’ diamond drop earrings and I definitely believe that Michelle will have a very glamorous moment on her hands. Natasha Lyonne is one star I am really excited to see on the red carpets in the coming weeks. The red head knows how to rock a suit on the red carpet. I have been going back and forth on whether or not to pick a pants look for her to wear for the Emmy Awards, but it was an easy choice to do it for her for the TCA Awards. I love this sharp black Ronald Van Der Kemp Fall 2019 Couture suit which features wide lapels, strong pointed shoulders, big pockets, and flared leg pants and definitely think it would be something cool for Natasha to wear for this red carpet. I would add a sleek sheer black satin Ralph Lauren button down structured shirt, a black satin The Row ‘The Ascot’ top handle evening clutch, a pair of black Malone Souliers ‘Marguerite’ pointed toe mules, and Anita Ko ‘Rain Drop’ diamond fringe earrings to really make this look perfect for Natasha to bring to life on this red carpet.

The 2019 Television Critics Association Awards will take place on Saturday August 3, 2019.

“Angry Birds 2” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

There are a couple of big movies coming out soon. I will be sprinkling them in over the next several weeks as we gear up for big red carpets like the Teen Choice Awards, Venice Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, and Emmy Awards. One premiere that I am definitely interested in seeing is the red carpet premiere for Angry Birds 2. Honestly the movie itself doesn’t doesn’t do anything for me, but the cast definitely has the potential do deliver a lot of fun moments on the red carpet. Awkwafina was an unexpected style star that I started to love over the course of the promo tours for Crazy Rich Asians and Oceans 8 last year. She loves to have fun with fashion and I definitely decided to go for a really majorly edgy moment for her to deliver on this red carpet. This black Burberry Fall 2019 RTW ensemble which features a button embellished smock dress which features chain straps, cold shoulders, and long sleeves, a pair of black tights, and a pair of black and white flat ankle boots with crystal fringe is definitely an edgy grunge punk look for Awkwafina to bring to life on this red carpet. It isn’t the typical red carpet look that I would pick for a major movie premiere, but I definitely think that it is perfect for Awkwafina to bring to life on the red carpet. I think it fits her persona perfectly. Chic waves, defined eyes, dark burgundy lips, and a statement black and white diamond Colette ‘Istanbul’ wing ear cuff would make this look red carpet ready and an amazing moment for Awkwafina to bring to life for this premiere.Dove Cameron is one I am definitely intrigued to see take to this red carpet. She was supposed to have a big July headed into August, but the premiere for her Disney Channel movie Descendants 3 was cancelled following the untimely death of co-star Cameron Boyce. I don’t know how his death had affected Dove or if she will be in a good state to even want to make an appearance on this red carpet. I do want to see her on this red carpet because I definitely believe that Dove is one to watch on the red carpet and I feel like she could bring a fun moment to this red carpet. I went with a chic little white dress with this Cong Tri thin strap mini dress which features a ruched hemp with a large bow. It is definitely more of a risky look. Bows can be almost any time they are utilized and I feel like the placement is not the easiest to make work off a runway. That being said I believe that Dove is a perfect person to wear it as she oozes effortless edgy glamour and if she styled it with a sleek center parted hairstyle, defined eyes, red lips, red nails, a pair of white Gianvito Rossi ‘Athena’ feather detail ankle strap sandals, and glamorous Samer Halimeh diamond cluster drop earrings I know that she would shut down this red carpet. Now one I am really interested in seeing on this red carpet is Nicki Minaj. I am wondering in what direction the rapper will bring for the red carpet for this premiere. I go back and forth with my feelings on Nicki’s style. She goes through spurts where I love what she is wearing and then spurts where I hate what she is wearing. I have to say that she has been on a bit of a hate run lately, and I want to see her show up on this red carpet in something that I love. I believe that Nicki would look amazing wearing this florescent orange Christian Cowan Fall 2019 RTW short sleeve sporty crystal embellished dress which features a high crew neck and a side split. It is a bit of a more casual look, but I think with the right styling I feel like it could work. A black to orange ombre high long ponytail, thick winged black glitter eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Aknubakta’ platform peep toe strappy metallic leather pumps, statement orange Anabela Chan ‘Aphrodite’ antique crystal, Swarovski crystal, hand-dyed resin cabochon, glass stone, bead, and antique-finished plated brass drop earrings, and a major Anabela Chan ‘Violet Mirage’ violet amethyst, pink sapphire, canary citrine, garnet, tourmaline, white diamond, and coral cabochon cocktail ring would definitely ensure that this look is major from head to toe. Finishing out the list is Tiffany Haddish. When we were first introduced to Tiffany I wasn’t a huge fan of her red carpet style, but then she was introduced to Law Roach and the rest is history. Law turned Tiffany into a major style star and I am very interested in seeing what the two are planning for this red carpet. I went more glamorous for Tiffany than I did with anyone else picking this black leather Ermanno Scervino Fall 2019 RTW strapless midi dress which features a corseted bodice and an asymmetrical tulle trimmed hemline. I definitely believe that the strong and sexy side of Tiffany would own this dress on the red carpet. A glamorous updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of black and blue Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Madeline’ feather and crystal embellished sandals, and chic Hueb ‘Botanica’ diamond and tanzanite ear clips would definitely finish this look in the perfect manner for Tiffany to deliver on this red carpet.

I do not have a confirmed date for the LA premiere of Angry Birds 2, but I am expecting to see it happen soon.

“Where’d You Go Bernadette” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

I was watching television the other night and I saw a trailer for Where’d You Go Bernadette and I was immediately intrigued. I first heard Cate Blanchett’s iconic voice and that drew me in. Once I saw the whole trailer and equated this movie to her Oscar winning performance in Blue Jasmine I knew that I had to put out a wish list for the premiere, even though I have yet to actually confirm an actual premiere for this film. Cate Blanchett is quite easily one of my favorite women to see on a red carpet and so of course when I saw that she had a movie come out I put a wish list together immediately. I fell right into the Fendi Fall 2019 Couture opening look with this cream double breasted suit which features puffy long sleeves and pleated wide leg pants. I am obsessed with this collection as a whole and I definitely believe that Cate would shut it down on a red carpet. It is strong, sexy, and feminine all at the same time. I would have Cate leave the powder blue organza button down at home in favor of going shirt less. Instead I would complete this look with a wavy bob, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a white marbled Fendi clutch with gold tone hardware, a pair of nude Aquazzura ‘Marahani’ crystal embellished pointed toe sling back pumps, and a statement Bulgari High Jewelry ‘Pirates Treasures’ necklace set in gold with diamonds, sapphires, and emeralds. It would ensure that this is absolutely a major chic moment for Cate to bring to life on a red carpet while promoting Where’d You Go Bernadette. It has been almost a year and a half since Kristen Wiig has done a red carpet to promote a movie. Honestly there was a time when I wouldn’t have cared, but the promo tour for Downsizing really showed a new side to Kristen’s style and I am hoping that she is still embracing this more fashion-y taste if she steps out for the premiere of Where’d You Go Bernadette. I knew I didn’t want to go for couture for Kristen’s look for this red carpet since that really isn’t her thing and it wanted it to be simple, but still eye catching. Enter this black Galvan Resort 2020 ‘Pirouette’ sleeveless plisse midi dress which features a cascading ruffle at front, a silver-tone hoop hardware detailed halter neck, and a ruffled-hem. Is the dress super fashion forward? Is it eleganza extravaganza? No and no, but I feel like it is the perfect chic moment for Kristen to wear for her red carpet return. A sleek pixie cut, defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black satin Roger Vivier ‘Bow Strass’ crystal embellished ankle strap sandals, and a selection of Yvan Tufenkjian ‘Stacked’ collection jewels including diamond ear crawlers and a matching diamond cuff bracelet would definitely tie this look together in the perfect glamorous bow for Kristen.

I do not have a confirmed date or location for this premiere, but the idea of a Cate Blanchett red carpet got me really excited and before we dive deep into Teen Choice Awards, VMA’s, Venice Film Festival, Emmy Awards, and Toronto Film Festival wishes soon I wanted to make sure that I put out a vibe into the universe!

“Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

With the awards season buzz for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood continuing to build I am really hoping that the cast will bring their a-game to the red carpets at the films premieres. I just posted my long list of wishes for all the people I want to see on the red carpet at the LA premiere this past Wednesday. This list is a little cut down, from six stars to just three. I decided to take Brad Pitt, Maya Hawke, and Sydney Sweeney out of the conversation today. Honestly it was the Celine look the other day that made me include him anyway, but I’m really not expecting anything super spectacular from him. In the case of Maya and Sydney the two have been playing very low keep recently and so I don’t know if they would all travel for a premiere for this film. That leaves me with Margot Robbie, Dakota Fanning, and Margaret Qualley.  Kicking off this list is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’s own Sharon Tate, Margot Robbie. As I mentioned the other day Margot’s red carpet looks just haven’t been landing for me lately. I really want to see her WOW me when it comes to the LA and London premieres of this film. Now the black gown I picked for Margot to wear for LA is very chic and glamorous, but this Chanel Resort 2020 gown I want to see her wear for the London premiere is a statement. Actually this black and white 3D floral embellished tea length halter gown which features golden beading is one of the few looks from that collection that I really liked. Now For Margot I would like to see the wide Peter Pan collar that the gown was styled with on the runway left at home. it would overtake her neck and honestly it takes away from the floral embellishments. Finishing the look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, dusty rose pink lips, a black and gold Chanel chevron lambskin leather and metal box clutch, a pair of gold Gianvito Rossi metallic leather platform strappy sandals, and vintage 1940’s gold spiked sunburst cluster earrings from Fred Leighton would definitely make this a major moment for Margot. Dakota Fanning has had a bit of a fashion revelation as of late. She has really been giving me a reason to take notice of her again. I love when she plays with fashion, much like her sister, and I definitely want to see her shut down awards season and the path to that starts with the premieres of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Her custom Armani Prive gown from Cannes was one of my favorite looks that Dakota has ever worn and I definitely want to see her continue to make chic and glamorous choices. For the London premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I decided to go for a bit of a bold choice. Neither of the Fanning sisters have worn Louis Vuitton on the red carpet before, but when it came time for me to pick a look for Dakota to wear on this red carpet this cream satin Louis Vuitton Resort 2020 cocktail dress which features a black and silver sequin floral patterned corset bodice, a curved neckline, thin leather straps, a wide leather belted waist, and a peplum popped right into my mind. It is a cool look that is uber feminine. Now I don’t want to see either of the Fanning’s get sucked into the endless spiral that can be wearing a Louis Vuitton design on the red carpet, but I love the idea of seeing Dakota in this dress. I definitely think it is an elevated version of her style and if paired with a sleek ponytail, smokey eyes, nude glossy lips, a black Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Malle’ clutch, simple but large diamond stud earrings, and a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ sandals I know that Dakota would own this look on the red carpet. Rounding out the list is the beautiful Margaret Qualley. Honestly I almost cut Margaret from this list too, but she was just nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Fosse/Verdon and so I would imagine that she will be keeping up appearances between now and the Emmy’s in September. What better way that to continually campaign for an Emmy than helping promote a film that is gaining Oscar buzz? That being said Margaret did skip out on the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I hope that she will be part of the cast that takes to the red carpet in London and I would love to see her doing so giving us 30’s screen siren glamour wearing this ballet pink Paco Rabanne crystal embellished velvet midi gown which features cinched shoulder straps and a ruched waistline. The inherent glamour of this gown is perfect for Margaret’s typically no muss no fuss approach to glamour and elegance. I think that she would look like a regal princess wearing this dress especially if styled with Veronica Lake waves worn over one shoulder, defined eyes, dark dusty rose pink almost mauve lips, a pair of rose gold Jimmy Choo ‘Pattie’ metallic leather peep toe platform ankle strap sandals, and dazzling Paco Rabanne ‘Palm’ crystal chandelier earrings

The London premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is expected to take place on Tuesday July 30, 2019.

“The Sun Is Also A Star” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Almost 3 months after The Sun Is Also A Star had its world premiere in New York City the film is confirmed to have a red carpet premiere in London next month. I am honestly surprised and have to say I don’t know where I can expect to set my expectations for this premiere. I love Yara Shahidi, so I am hoping that she will really bring the glam to the red carpet at this premiere. For the world premiere Yara wore a Monse ensemble which featured a sequined asymmetrically draped tunic gown worn over a pair of light was jeans. Given that look I definitely think that jumping to this black 3D embroidered and beaded strapless Ashi Studio Fall 2019 Couture strapless jumpsuit which features a satin bow pocket details for her to wear for the London premiere is definitely wide jump. The look is chic and I definitely think it could be perfect for Yara. I do however as I write this think that the look is very similar to the Ralph Lauren jumpsuit that Yara wore for the SAG Awards last year. Has enough time passed for Yara to be able to bring this look to life on the red carpet? I hope so. A chic braided bun updo, defined eyes, dark red glossy lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pointed toe leather pumps, and statement David Morris one of a kind opal, paraiba tourmaline, and diamond cluster earrings would definitely make this a perfect moment for Yara to bring to life on this red carpet.

The London premiere of The Sun Is Also A Star is expected to take place on Tuesday August 6, 2019.

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex to Wear the Resort 2020 Collections

It seems that the Duchess of Sussex has officially finished her maternity leave and is back to making public appearances. Meghan Markle has been spotted at Wimbledon, the London premiere of The Lion King, and Trooping the Color. I will say through the entire Resort 2020 season I just kept seeing looks for Meghan to wear while out on her official duties. I basically started this list a couple of weeks ago with my Resort 2020 list where I picked an absolutely amazing Proenza Schouler coat. The five looks below are just some of the favorites I would love to see the Duchess of Sussex bring to life in the coming months. Givenchy: How could I not kick the list off with Meghan’s go to designer. The royal women have stuck by the creators of their wedding gowns and Meghan has worn a lot of Givenchy since her wedding last year. I was taken with the idea of Meghan giving military sharpness wearing this black Givenchy Resort 2020 ensemble which features a coat with red trimmed pockets and gold buttons paired with a sleeveless sheath dress with a red high collar. It is much more of a sharp style than we are used to seeing from Meghan and I honestly believe that she would shut this look down. I would want to see Clare Waight Keller make sure that the hems of the coat and the dress match. A sleek low bun, a black Phillip Treacy sculpted veiled hat, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of black Givenchy ‘Show’ eel leather pointed toe pumps, and a black Givenchy ‘GV’ leather clutch with gold hardware all would finish this look perfectly. ADEAM: Tokyo born, New York raised designer Hanako Madea’s label ADEAM has been a major rising star when it comes to the international fashion scene. Her collections, shown in NYC, have been loved by the fashionista set and I definitely could see Meghan being drawn to the label. Unlike Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan has embraced the world of elite and emerging fashion designers that aren’t just based in London. This grey tweed ADEAM Resort 2020 sleeveless double breasted coat dress which features an asymmetrical silk scarf style lapel. I think this look with a loose updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of grey glitter Aquazzura ‘Forever’ cutout design pointed toe pumps would be an absolutely chic look for Meghan to wear heading into the fall season.

Burberry: When it comes to British fashion I don’t know if there is a more iconic brand other than Burberry. I have been loving what Riccardo Tisci has done at the label since he took the reigns over almost a year ago and I am definitely wanting to see Meghan wearing the brand in the future. I would love to see her attend one of the more cocktail attire suited events wearing this black Burberry Resort 2020 cape dress which features chic crystal embellishments and a belted waist. It is definitely not your average royal cocktail dress, but I Meghan isn’t your average royal. I believe that it would be the chic moment I am picturing in my mind paired with a loose chignon, defined eyes, burgundy lips, a black crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘J Box’ clutch, and a pair of black Burberry ‘The Patent Leather D-Ring’ pointed toe pumps. Elie Saab: I have to say that when I picked this emerald green Elie Saab Resort 2020 I thought it was a long shot. We don’t usually see the British royals wearing his designs, but Catherine just wore a dress from the designer for Ascot and I am now just waiting for Meghan to wear the brand. This look which features a draped long puffy sleeve blouse with a peter pan color and a chic wrap style skirt with a tie detail is super chic and would be perfect for one of the more smart business style events that Meghan is bound to attend. Now the skirt is definitely going to have to be modified for Meghan so it will be long enough to fit royal protocol and if she paired it with an emerald green Mark Cross ‘Grace’ small lizard skin top handle box bag, easy waves, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, and a pair of green Gianvito Rossi suede pointed toe pumps I know that my heart and soul would soar.

Jason Wu: Finishing out the list is a look from a designer that Meghan has actually just worn, Jason Wu. She wore the American designer for the London premiere of The Lion King. It was a chic and simple dress that is perfect for the relatively new mom to bring to the red carpet. I definitely think that Jason Wu is the perfect choice for Meghan as he just creates uber feminine and elegant dresses. I definitely can picture Megan wearing this black ruched chiffon Jason Wu Resort 2020 cap sleeve cocktail dress which features cutout details on the neckline and beaded detail. It definitely is a chic cocktail moment that could easily become a glamorous gown moment for Meghan to bring to life for a more formal occasion. A sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, an absolutely fantastic black velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ white and green crystal embellished clutch, a pair of black satin Aquazzura ‘Portrait of a Lady’ pointed toe crystal embellished slingback pumps (which she wore for the premiere of The Lion King with her Jason Wu dress), and a pair of chic Nikos Koulis ‘Oui’ collection white gold earrings with emeralds, white diamonds, and black enamel would make this an absolutely glamorous moment for Meghan to bring to life.

Which of these looks do you think that Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex should add to her royal wardrobe.
