2019 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Now that we are past my wishes for the 2019 Venice Film Festival it is time to move on to the big red carpet coming on Monday: the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. I am always excited to see what will happen on this red carpet. It really is a space where anything goes. Planning wishes for this red carpet has been a lot of fun. I didn’t do as many custom looks for this red carpet as I typically do for a major red carpet, but there are a lot of major moments that have come down the runways. That being said my first wish for the 2019 MTV VMA’s I am starting with a custom moment. Ariana Grande is the face of Givenchy right now and I am ready to see her first red carpet in the brand. I decided to go the custom route for Ariana after falling in love with this silver sequin bubble skirt and organza underskirt as it came down the Givenchy Fall 2019 Couture runway. That being said I wasn’t a fan of the black taffeta bodice that the dress was designed with, so I sent it to Evita and had her work her magic. She actually sent me both versions as individual versions for this years red carpet. I saw both and immediately thought it would make a perfect convertible moment for Ariana to wear for the 2019 VMA’s. Ari typically wears short dresses for music awards red carpets, so I thought this gives the best of both worlds. For the red carpet I would want to see Ariana bring the glam with the bubble sequin dress with a structured bodice and thin straps with the metallic silver organza underskirt that it was paired with on the runway. When she gets inside I would have Ariana remove that underskirt and hike up the pickups making it more of a mini dress using the ribbon details. I think it would make for such a major red carpet moment for Ariana, easily one of her best. It would be finished perfectly with a sleek high bun, thick winged eyeliner, dark red lips, a pair of silver Givenchy slingback strappy sandals, and dazzling white diamond and black enamel Nikos Koulis ‘Oui’ collection chandelier earrings. Billie Eilish will make her first major red carpet appearance at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. The “Bad Guy” artist is definitely one to watch. She was just invited to a Chanel celebration and I feel like will be embraced by more of high fashion soon. In an interview with Vogue Australia Billie said “It kind of gives nobody the opportunity to judge what your body looks like. I want layers and layers and layers and I want to be mysterious. You don’t know what’s underneath and you don’t know what’s on top.” She just clarified that comment after it has been taken that she doesn’t want to be sexualized saying to Pharell Williams in V Magazine’s September Issue: “It’s more, just, I wear what I want to wear, but of course, everyone sees it as, ‘She’s saying no to being sexualized’ and ‘She’s saying no to being the stereotypical female’.” I see it as Billie wanting to have this air of mystery and anonymity about her and she has the perfect stylist to embrace that in Samantha Burkhart (who most iconically dresses SIA.) So to keep that air of mystery alive I decided to to keep the more oversized vibe that Billie has been embracing as of late in play picking this baby boy blue Louis Vuitton Spring 2020 Menswear loose fit suit which features a matching cotton t-shirt and a LV logo harness. I went to a friend of mine with about 20 options from everyone from Giambattista Valli and Givenchy to Zac Posen and Gucci, but she was immediately drawn directly to this Louis Vuitton look. It was one of the first things I looked at too, but given the fact that Diet Prada ripped Virgil Abloh apart for using the LV logo like Stefano Pilati did with the YSL logo a decade ago I wonder if this look will actually be embraced as a celebrity moment outside of someone like Kanye, Jay-Z, or Kim Kardashian. I can definitely see this as being one of Billie’s first groundbreaking moment into the world of high fashion. Honestly I would keep the look with the runways sneakers adding long center parted locks, smokey eyes behind tiny sunglasses, and nude lips to finish this look perfectly. Halsey has a couple of nominations at this years VMAs, but given the fact the she isn’t performing or presenting I wonder if she will be on this red carpet Monday night. I go back and forth when it comes to her style. She left long time stylist Maeve Reilly last year and honestly ever since I have questioned, and not in a good way, what she has been thinking when getting ready for the red carpet. What I love most about Halsey is that she is a style chameleon. She is always playing with her aesthetic. One day she will be a princess and the next a rock and roll and the next a mermaid. What is always consistent is that whatever she is wearing she always infuses a bit of punk into her vibe. For Monday’s red carpet I want to see Halsey deliver an uber sexy moment wearing this black silk Versace Fall 2019 RTW cutout bondage inspired gown which features gold hardware, a column skirt, and a thigh high split. Now she has never been dressed by Versace in the past, at least not main line, and that might make this a stretch, but I definitely believe this is a perfect moment for her to wear on the VMAS red carpet. I would finish this look with a buzz cut, defined eyes, bold red lips, a black and gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Beverage Can Savage’ crystal embellished minaudiere, a pair of black Casadei ‘Julia Lily Rose’ crystal embellished strappy sandals, and statement Messika “ My Twin Mono Hoop” 18k gold and white diamond hoop earrings. Taylor Swift dropped her new album LOVER and I have been listing to it all morning. She is nominated for several VMAs this year and will also be opening the show this year. I wonder if that will mean she skips the red carpet all together? She has been very selective with the red carpets she has walked for the last 2 years only attending a small handful of events. If she does I decided to go with a custom Stella McCartney cocktail dress. Taylor name dropped the British designer in her song “London Boy” on her new album and Taylor does have a collaboration with Stella right now to help promote the album. The custom sea glass blue one sleeve Stella McCartney mini dress which features a structured metal detail on the neckline, all over sequin embroidery, pink and silver beaded heart and star appliqués, a wavy mini hem, and a fringe sash draped from a single hip. Each part of this look comes from a different Stella McCartney design and colored in the pastel vibe Taylor has embraced for this album. Styling the dress with a romantic updo, defined cat eyes, punchy pink lips, white Christian Louboutin ‘Faradavavie’ see through vinyl and metallic leather strappy pearl studded sandals, and a pair of dazzling Anabela Chan ‘Blush Opal Passiflora’ chandelier earrings in 18k rose and white gold vermeil with 18k gold earring posts, laboratory-grown and created gemstones including pink sapphires, lilac amethysts, yellow sapphires, white diamonds and blush pink opals would definitely ensure this is a perfect moment for Taylor to bring to life on the VMAs red carpet.

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Monday August 26, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: Closing Ceremony & “The Burnt Orange Heresy” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Well here we are my final wishes for the 2019 Venice Film Festival. In just a week the race to the Oscars will officially yet still unofficially begin. I am really excited to see what everyone, and their stylists, are cooking up for the red carpets at this years film festival. The festival will end on Saturday September 7, 2019 with the Closing Ceremony and a gala premiere of The Burnt Orange Heresy. I have been searching the Gold Derby lists for Oscar nominations for every film screening at the 2019 Venice Film Festival and I didn’t stop here. While The Burnt Orange Heresy is closing this years edition it doesn’t seem to have any Oscar buzz behind it. The film doesn’t have a single mention in any of Gold Derby’s predictions of the big eight categories. I am still really excited to see what the cast and jury will bring to the red carpet at this premiere. Elizabeth Debicki really wowed me during her fall film festival travels last year as she made the rounds promoting her film Widows. She is part of the cast of The Burnt Orange Heresy and I am really excited to see what she is going to bring major glamour to her first time at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. For the films photocall I would love to see Elizabeth really bring the glamour to the stage wearing this navy and red Armani Prive Spring 2019 Couture long sleeve midi dress which features a liquid sequin fitted bodice and a tiered fringe skirt with sheer patches. Now while the sheer panels are not exactly what I think of when I think of Elizabeth’s style, but I definitely believe that she would sell it to me with effortless ease. While a sequin and fringe embellished ensemble is not out of the norm for the Cannes Film Festival, I do think that it is just a little more than we expect to see in Venice. I always say go big or go home, so I definitely think it is a good idea but I would keep the styling very simple to allow for the dress to be the center of the look. A loose wavy bob, defined eyes, soft blush pink lips, and a pair of navy suede Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pointed toe pumps would definitely make this a perfectly chic photocall moment for Elizabeth. Now for the premiere I decided to go for full dramatic glamour. I honestly can’t believe this is the first Valentino Couture moment I have picked for the 2019 Venice Film Festival. I would love to see Elizabeth wearing this emerald green taffeta Valentino Spring 2019 Couture sleeveless column gown which features a dramatic ruffle down the side and into a dramatic train. It is definitely a moment that could be iconic and this gown will need someone with a lot of presence to really bring it to life and not get lost in those taffeta ruffles. While I believe that Elizabeth is typically a little more laid back that she has the presence to really bring this dramatic moment to life on the red carpet. The look itself is so dramatic I would keep the styling rather simple, yet glamorous, with a sleek vintage inspired updo, defined cat eyes, dark mauve lips, a pair of emerald green satin Roger Vivier ‘I Love Vivier’ pointed toe pumps, and dazzling statement Van Cleef & Arpels white diamond and emerald drop earrings to really ensure that Elizabeth has her most major red carpet moment ever on the red carpet in Venice. I have given a varried selection of looks that I want to see jury member Stacy Martin wear on the 2019 Venice Film Festival red carpet. From a custom Louis Vuitton column gown to an Armani Prive ballgown and a white tea length Givenchy Couture moment to a custom red Miu Miu feathered cocktail dress I have given so many different styles of looks for Stacy to deliver on the red carpets at the Venice Film Festival this year. To close out the wishes I have for Stacy to wear during her time serving jury duty in Venice is this absolutely major black Fendi Fall 2019 Couture ballgown which features an intricate think strap yoke, beaded embroidery, and a tiered peasant style ball skirt. I was able to watch this show on a livestream from my living room back in July and I was in awe from the moment it started to the moment it ended. This gown was one of the looks that definitely made me gasp as it came down the runway and I definitely think it would be something Stacy would be drawn to. It meshes edge and glamour perfectly. I do believe that Stacy would have the sheer gown lined and I just hope that when that happens (as I am sure that whomever wears this gown on the red carpet will have it lined) that the magic of the embroidery isn’t lost. I think that with a sleek updo, defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black Fendi ‘FFreedom’ sculpted block heel sandals, and dazzling white diamond Cartier High Jewelry waterfall chandelier earrings that this would make for such a major moment for Stacy to end her run on the Venice Film Festival red carpet.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “The Laundromat” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

My final wish for an film in competition at the 2019 Venice Film Festival is Steven Soderbergh’s The Laundromat. The film is currently a leading contender for Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay according to GoldDerby. I am hoping it will mean that the cast delivers major moments as they take the fall film festival season by storm. It will screen in Venice on Sunday September 1st just under two weeks away!Meryl Streep stars in The Laundromat and actually was just announced as the star of Soderbergh’s next project titled Let Them All Talk for HBO Max also staring Gemma Chan and Lucas Hedges. Meryl is a Hollywood icon and as such doesn’t need to do big press tours for her films. I do hope that we see her in Venice to kick off the Oscar campaign for The Laundromat, she is currently a leading contender for Best Actress thanks to her role in the film. For her time in Venice with this film I turned to two of my favorite Italian labels No. 21 and Prada. For the films photocall I went with this grey and dark snakeskin No. 21 Resort 2020 long sleeve ensemble which features a long poet sleeve blouse with a peter pan collar and a pleated a-line skirt. It is a chic moment and I definitely think that it fits the looks that Meryl’s stylist Michaela Erlanger has been putting her in since the two started working together a couple of years ago. I would add a pair of grey glitter Aquazzura ‘Forever’ cutout detail pointed toe pumps, loose pushed back hair, and simple makeup would definitely make this a majorly chic moment for Meryl. Turning up the glamour for the premiere I had a custom Prada gown whipped up for Meryl. I saw the grey Prada Fall 2019 RTW collection long sleeve draped v-neckline midi dress back in February and I immediately thought it would be a perfect gown for a red carpet. I believe that taking the runway version and lengthening the skirt for be a flowing a-line moment with a dramatic train is definitely the way to make this the major moment I am craving from Meryl. Now the color is definitely more within her normal comfort zone and isn’t anything to write home about, but with the right styling I know this look could be glamour defined from head to toe. A romantic updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of black Prada crystal embellished pointed toe mary-jane pumps, and a selection of dazzling jewels from Fred Leighton including simple diamond stud earrings and a major antique 19th century diamond flower necklace would definitely ensure that Meryl delivers glamour in the chicest and most effortless of manners. I have run a gambit of looks for jury member for Stacy Martin to bring to life on the Venice Film Festival red carpet. I have been picking looks from a different label I want to see from Stacy for each wish list. I haven’t repeated a designer once. For today’s wishes I went with another custom moment for Stacy with a custom Celine gown. I have loved seeing Celine on the red carpet since Heidi Slimane took over the reigns at the house almost a year ago. I would be surprised if we don’t see the label in Venice like we really didn’t in Cannes. Stacy has this rock and roll spirit about her and so it was an easy option for me to want to do something from the brand for her to wear in Venice. This black and silver column gown which features crystal embellishments at the neck and the waist, a silk crepe halter bodice, and a silver sequined skirt takes it’s queues from Celine Spring 2019 RTW as well as the custom gown that Brie Larson wore for the Oscars earlier this year. The gown definitely holds its own thought and I don’t believe would draw any comparisons to what the label has already sent down the runway or red carpet. Finishing this look with a sleek low bun updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Roger Vivier ‘Viv Bling’ crystal studded satin sandals, and dazzling yet simple Cartier ‘Magnitude’ emerald and diamond stud earrings would definitely ensure that Stacy delivers rock and roll glamour in a perfect manner for a major film festival red carpet.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “Wasp Network” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

So as I wind down my wishes for the 2019 Venice Film Festival, only have 2 more days of wishes after today, I am definitely getting more and more excited about what will come from this years red carpets. I have been going through all the films in my Venice wishes and trying to flush out their awards season potential. Wasp Network by Olivier Assayas isn’t in any of Gold Derby’s predictions for the big eight Oscar nominations, but I wouldn’t count it out for something like a Best Foreign Language Film nomination and consideration for the Goya or Cesar awards. With that in mind I still want to see the amazing cast of this film bring their A-game to this red carpet. Aside from the the two Ralph & Russo Couture moments that Penelope Cruz wore this year I haven’t been thrilled with most of what she has worn. She seems to have a very busy fall season ahead of her and I want to see her on top of her game. For the Wasp Network photocall I decided to go with this chic Fendi Resort 2020 ensemble which features a blush silk pajama long sleeve blouse paired with a pair of brown high waisted pleated pants for Penelope. We don’t often see Penelope wearing pants ensembles for red carpet occasions, but I definitely believe that she would sell this look to me with effortless ease. It is an easy and chic moment, especially for a photocall. Old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ pointed toe smokey PVC pointed toe pumps, and Atelier Swarovski ‘Evil Eye’ jewels designed by Grecian designer Themis Zouganeli including a pair of drop earrings and a matching cocktail ring all would add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble. For the premiere I did turn back to Chanel, whom Penelope is a face, customizing a look from the labels Fall 2019 Couture collection. I decided to take an ivory column gown which features a black and white floral applique asymmetrical neckline and add a dramatic train to it. The red carpet at the Lido in Venice is such a wide platform and as such needs absolutely dramatic moments. This beautiful gown would be perfect for Penelope to bring to life on this red carpet especially with a sleek vintage inspired bun updo, defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of white leather and lace Gianvito Rossi ‘Evie’ pointed toe pumps, and chic Atelier Swarovski ‘Luna’ lab created diamond cluster earrings. Young Spanish actress Ana de Armas made her jump to Hollywood last year with a role in Blade Runner 2049 and will be a Bond girl next year in Bond 25. She is staring alongside Penelope in Wasp Network this fall and I am hoping it will mean that Ana will be delivering major moments on the red carpets this fall festival season. For the films photocall at the 2019 Venice Film Festival I would love to see Ana bring a very feminine moment to the stage wearing a black Marchesa Resort 2020 sleeveless bright floral print a-line knee length dress. I definitely think that Ana does femininity very well and I feel like this dress is just beautiful and perfect for a photocall. Pair it with loose waves, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and light pink Christian Louboutin ‘Hot Chick 100’ patent leather pointed toe pumps and I know that the look would be film festival ready. For the premiere I went for bold glamour customizing a look from the Atelier Versace Fall 2019 Couture collection for Ana. In the collections lookbook this gown was seen as a mini dress. I love the bright tangerine color of the gown and I want to see Donatella take this cocktail dress and swap the mini skirt that was under the bow peplum for a floor length column skirt to create the perfect gown for Ana to wear on the red carpet in Venice. I think that the intricate gold embroidery of this gown really elevates it to a Best of Venice worthy moment. Finishing the look with a romantic updo, defined smokey eyes, soft nude lips, a pair of orange Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Neyla’ sandals, and simple yet glamorous 18k yellow gold and white diamond Nikos Koulis ‘Feeling’ figure eight meets art deco drop earrings would definitely ensure that Ana makes a major wave on the red carpet in the city of canals. Of course had to include another wish for what I want to see jury member Stacy Martin bring to the Venice red carpet over the course of this years festival. She has been a good friend to the house of Louis Vuitton and its creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere. She goes through spats where she exclusively wears one designer. When she kicked off her time in Cannes earlier this year with 3 back to back Louis Vuitton looks I was expecting that she would stay on an exclusive Louis Vuitton kick for the entire festival. I was glad she didn’t, but I do expect that she will wear at least one look from the brand on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. I decided to go the custom route for her even though she wore a runway cocktail dress in Cannes. I would love to see Nicolas create this emerald green beaded gown which features leather straps and black ruffled lace which is based on the custom Louis Vuitton Fall 2019 RTW column gown for Stacy. I love how this gown meshes edge and modernity with classic elegance. A wavy bob pinned behind the ears, smokey eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of simple black Aquazzura ‘So Nude’ sling back sandals, and dazzling art deco inspired Cartier High Jewelry white diamond and emerald drop earrings would definitely ensure this is another amazing moment for Stacy to bring to the Venice Film Festival red carpet. Finishing out this list is another of the beautiful faces of Armani Beauty Sara Sampaio. Last year Sara walked the Venice Film Festival red carpet the first two days and delivered some major glamour. I am definitely hoping we see her bring that same level of glamour to the red carpet. I would love to see her wearing this black, mint, blush, and lavender Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture ensemble which features a bandeau style top, a high waisted peasant style ball skirt, and overlaid with a crystal embellished net cape. This is definitely not your typical film festival red carpet moment, but since Sara is a model and not an actress I honestly believe it would be a perfect moment for her to bring to life on the festivals red carpet. Now I had seen a pair of  Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019 orchid floral cluster earrings composed of opals, amethysts, sapphires, tsavorites, and diamonds set in colored titanium while I was styling another look and I fell in love with them, but in that moment I didn’t know what look I would be able to use them for. Then I got to this wish I already had planned and I felt like they would be a match made in heaven. Finish the look with a sleek low bun, defined eyes, ice blush pink Armani Beauty ‘Lip Maestro: Lip Freeze’ matte finish lipstick, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Filamenta’ strappy peep toe platform sandals and I know that Sara would once again have an absolutely major glam moment on her hands.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “The King” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Netflix has been shunned at major film festivals including Berlin and Cannes, but the 2019 Venice Film Festival seems to have embraced the streaming platform and will screen several films from the festival. There was a bit of a scuffle earlier wondering if the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences would change the rules making it harder for a Netflix film to qualify for consideration for an Oscar nomination. But in April the Academy decided against changing its entry rules to more clearly favor films intended primarily for theatrical release. Announcing that Rule Two, which says a film is eligible for Oscar consideration as long as it does screen in an LA theater for at least seven days, will remain unchanged for the 2020 Academy Awards. So Netflix is definitely rolling out campaigns for some of its films. That could be the case with David Michôd’s The King, which is the story of England’s King Henry V whom ascends the English throne upon his father’s death, and must navigate the palace snake pit, chaos and inherited war against France. According to Gold Derby this film is currently a strong contender for a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination and a possible contender for Best Picture, Best Actor for Timothee Chalamet, and Best Supporting Actor for Joel Edgerton and Ben Mendelsohn I am really excited to see what this tour will bring since it has red carpet menswear favorites Robert Pattinson and Timothee Chalamet among its cast. Robert Pattinson is a face of Dior so I know what we can expect to see him exclusively wear the label on any red carpet he steps onto. There was a time when I LOVED what Rob was wearing on a red carpet, but that hasn’t been the case as of late. He has looked very disheveled and unfit lately, and I want to see him back to his best on the red carpets at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. For the photocall I went to the Dior Man Fall 2019 Menswear collection and this ensemble which features a multicolor graffiti print long sleeve silk button down paired with high waisted black tapered pant and a hardware buckle belt. A hand tossed hairstyle and a pair of black calfskin Dior Man tactical spat detailed brogue ankle boots would finish this look perfectly for Rob. For the premiere I went for more of a classic look with this black Dior Man Resort 2020 skinny two button suit which features a harness detail on one lapel. Now I would l personally would take this suit and pair it with a crisp white band collar button down dress shirt and black Dior Man sleek patina calfskin derby shoes to make it a classic yet cool moment for Rob to wear for this premiere. I want to see Timothee Chalamet campaign hard for an Oscar nomination. He was barely out beat out by Gary Oldman for an Oscar last year for his role as Elio in Call Me By Your Name and was robbed of a nomination (and a win in my opinion) for his role in Beautiful Boy this year. I want to see him make the awards season rounds this year. He is one of my favorite young actors and I definitely because he likes to have fun with fashion. For the Venice Film Festival photocall of The King I decided to go with a cool look for him with this Celine Spring 2020 Menswear ensemble which features a light brown and black snakeskin bomber jacket, khaki button down skirt, slim fit black pants. I definitely think that this is an easy and cool look for a photocall and that Timmy would bring it to life with effortless ease. I would just swap the white pointed toe boots the look was paired with on the runway for a pair of black suede Celine ‘Carmargue’ chelsea boots. For the premiere I definitely went with a bold choice. I was actually looking through the Dior Spring 2020 Menswear collection for looks for Rob when I fell in love with the idea of Timothee wearing this cornflower blue silk satin double breasted tuxedo which feature a white to blue ombre scarf detail that has become a new signature of Kim Jones’s aesthetic for the house. While I do think that Rob might try a look like this I think that Timothee is the one that I believe that would sell it to me on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival premiere of The King. I would swap the turtleneck the suit was paired with on the runway in favor of a white crew neck Dior t-shirt adding a pair of silver Givenchy pointed toe chelsea boots to really make this look perfect for this red carpet. I had to pick at least one Armani Prive moment for Stacy Martin to wear for the 2019 Venice Film Festival since Armani Beauty is one of the presenting sponsors of the festival. I went to the collections and picked this black Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture strapless a-line ballgown which features a ruffled tulle neckline with a V split and intricate covering the entire gown almost immediately. I imagine this edgy meets glam moment would be perfect for Stacy and could very well be an easy Best of Venice worthy moment. A sleek updo, soft smokey eyes, deep red lips, a pair of black Aquazzura ‘Mabel’ strappy cage sandals, and a selection of Chopard jewels including simple diamond cluster earrings and an intricate white diamond 2019 Red Carpet Collection cuff bracelet would ensure this look is absolute glamour defined from head to toe.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “Seberg” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Seberg by Benedict Andrews is screening at the 2019 Venice Film Festival and on its face it sounds like a movie that Oscar voters would definitely be intrigued by. The IMDB description of the film says: “An ambitious young F.B.I. Agent is assigned to investigate iconic actress Jean Seberg when she becomes embroiled in the tumultuous civil rights movement in late 1960s Los Angeles, California.” It’s stars are some of the buzziest of young Hollywood, in addition to Anthony Mackie, Vince Vaughn, and Jack O’Connell. That all being said when I searched the films name in the different pages of Gold Derby’s 2020 Oscar predictions I got nothing. So I don’t know what that means for the films fall film festival season. I definitely want the cast to deliver major moments and do the dog and pony show like they would if they were promoting a leading contender for an Oscar nomination. It has been a long time since I have really loved anything that Kristen Stewart has worn on the red carpet. Honestly I have to think back to days before her Chanel contract to really find a moment I loved from her. I want to see her bring her signature rock and roll edge mixed perfectly with the classic elegance we expect to see from a Chanel moment on the red carpet. I think the two looks I’ve picked for Kristen to wear from Virginie Viard’s debut solo couture collection for Chanel to wear in Venice this year do just that. For the Seberg photocall I would love to see Kristen rock the stage wearing this forest green Chanel Fall 2019 Couture sleeveless matching ensemble which consists of a halter top with a cowl neck and ruched bodice construction and a pair of sheer capri pants which features ruched cuffs with crystal embellished button details. As I was watching this runway show I saw this look and Kristen immediately popped into my mind. With a lot of events coming up I am sure that this will be optioned for her at some point, but I definitely think it is a perfect look for a Venice Film Festival photocall. Now on the runway Virginie had this look styled with a pair of black patent leather flat slippers. That is definitely something that Kristen would love, so I can see her wearing the full runway look. I personally would love to see her swap them for a pair of edgy black Christian Louboutin ‘Xiloboot’ pointed toe ankle boots with a silver angular pyramid kitten heels, a short wavy hairstyle, defined eyes, and dark mauve lips to really make this look perfect for this occasion. For the premiere I went for something a little more classically elegant with a navy satin Chanel Fall 2019 Couture halter column gown which features a wide belted waist. Now this very 90’s moment and I want to see Kristen really deliver this sleek and chic moment on the Lido red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. I think that styling this look with a pair of navy Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pointed toe pumps, a sleek side parted hairstyle, navy smokey eyes, red lips, and a pair of dazzling Chanel Haute Jewelry diamond and sapphire art deco inspired tassel earrings would definitely make this one of Kristen’s best red carpet moments EVER> Margaret Qualley is gearing up to me a darling this awards season. She is already Emmy nominated for her role in Fosse/Verdon and is part of the ensemble cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. It makes me very interested in seeing what she and her stylists Jill and Jordan are cooking up for her to wear over the coming weeks. I want to see Margaret give feminine moments in Venice this year starting with this two tone chambray Prabal Gurung Resort 2020 mini dress which features detachable puffy sleeves, a v-neckline, defined waist, and a mini a-line skirt. I definitely think that Margaret could deliver elegance wearing this dress for this occasion. A loose updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of black and navy satin Roger Vivier ‘Viv Fireflower’ beaded and bow draped pointed toe pumps, and navy and gold Christian Dior ‘CatStyleDior2’ angular cat eye sunglasses would definitely make this a perfect Venice Film Festival photocall moment. For the premiere I went for glamour picking this nude to charcoal ombre Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture hammered silk strapless ballgown. This gown is one of the better creations that Maria Grazia Chiuri has sent down the Dior runway since she took over the reigns of the label three years ago and I honestly believe that Margaret would be able to deliver this in a very glamorous manner. A sleek romantic updo, defined eyes, dusty mauve pink lips, a pair of nude Rene Caovilla crisscross crystal embellished sandals, and beautiful Dior à Versailles high jewellery collection ‘Boiserie’ yellow and white diamond drop earrings set in yellow gold and blackend silver would all add the perfect finishing touches to this look. It would all ensure that Margaret’s Venice debut is on top form. As I have mentioned I want to see jury member Stacy Martin definitely have fun with fashion over the course of this years Venice Film Festival. I want to see her give us everything from the expected couture ballgowns and dramatic trains to short and sassy cocktail moments. Today’s wish is for the latter with this custom red Miu Miu sleeveless knee length dress which features a plunging v-neckline, ribbon bow details on the waist, an a-line skirt, and an ostrich feather hem. Miu Miu takes a center stage at Venice since the brands “Woman’s Tales” short film series is always screened that the festival and I am definitely expecting to see the brand dress Stacy for at least one red carpet over the course of the festival. I think styling this cocktail dress with a wavy bob, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of red glitter Miu Miu platform leather sandals, and dazzling Chopard Red Carpet Collection diamond and ruby chandelier earrings would definitely make this look unexpectedly perfect for a Venice Film Festival red carpet.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “Saturday Fiction” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

I am trying my absolute best to stick to a very tight schedule that will allow me to bring the most coverage of fall film festival, award show, and stand alone movie premiere red carpets to you as possible. But as shown by some of the days the last two months I have gotten behind on my writing while also balancing working full time and living my life. This week it was going to see Joan Jett and Heart that put me behind the eight ball as I didn’t get home from the concert until 1am and then came home from the next day at work and was asleep super early. Well I am going to try and get back on track this weekend, but today I have my wishes for the 2019 Venice Film Festival premiere of Saturday Fiction staring the incredibly glamorous Gong Li. When I saw that a Gong Li film was screening at the 2019 Venice Film Festival I got really excited because she definitely knows how to bring the glamour to the red carpet and we typically only get to see her bring the fashion factor to the red carpet when she is representing L’Oreal for two days at a time at the Cannes Film Festival. I am hoping that Gong will deliver two absolutely chic moments while in Venice this year staring with the Saturday Fiction photocall. I would love to see her deliver a very flirty and feminine moment wearing this pastel plaid Chanel Cruise 2020 halter neck tea length dress which features a criss-cross neckline, thin ribbon belted waist, and a tiered skirt. This dress isn’t what we typically expect from Gong Li, but when I was searching for the perfect photocall moment for her and I saw this dress I knew it was the perfect moment. I would keep the styling similar to the runway with a center parted low bun, defined eyes, soft nude pink glossy lips, and a pair of classic Chanel beige pumps with a black cap toe and metal and pearl detail on the heel. For the premiere I decided to go with a haute couture twist on traditional Chinese dress with this powder blue Elie Saab Fall 2019 Couture gown which seems to mix inspiration between the Japanese kimono and the Chinese Hanfu. When I saw this collection come down the runway I was unsure if it would translate to the Chinese clientele. The Chinese stars who sat front row at the show seemed to receive it well, so now I am intrigued to see if anyone will wear the label on the red carpet. I think that if Gong Li showed up on such a major international platform as the Lido red carpet at the Venice Film Festival wearing this gorgeous short sleeve gown with a sexy thigh high split and a dramatic train that any question I have would be lost. I know that Gong Li has the regal glamour about her to really make a gown like this come of life. Pair it with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, gold-tone mirror leather Gianvito Rossi ‘Annabelle’ ruffled d’Orsay ankle strap pointed toe pumps, and a pair of chic and simple yet dazzling Chopard Red Carpet Collection 18ct yellow gold chandelier earrings set with rose-cut pear-shaped diamonds (7cts), yellow diamond briolettes (24cts), pear-shaped and round-cut yellow diamonds and I know that this could be one of my favorite red carpet moments in Venice. I want to see jury member Stacy Marin play with shape and length a lot over the course of the 2019 Venice Film Festival. Her run in Cannes showed me that she could make anything work for the incredibly formal occasion where the expectation is “go big or go home.” Now that being said this white Givenchy Fall 2019 Couture strapless trumpet shaped tea length gown isn’t a mini dress like she brought to life in Cannes, but it definitely isn’t the typical gown I would go to first for a film festival like Venice. Honestly I think that Stacy has the red carpet chops to actually make me fall in love with this look. She would edge the look up with a wavy bob center parted and pinned behind her ears, smokey eyes, nude pink lips, a simple pair of white Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ sandals, and chic Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019 diamond and emerald floral meets art deco drop earrings.Finishing out today’s wishes is another look I want to see Armani Beauty ambassador Cate Blanchett bring to life on this red carpet. I do love this simple black Armani Prive Spring 2019 Couture column gown which features an off the shoulder sweetheart neckline and intricate beaded embroidery throughout. It delivers classic old Hollywood glamour and that is exactly what I expect from Cate when she is acting in her role as an Armani brand ambassador. Now while I can definitely picture Cate wearing this gown as it was presented on the runway I would also love to see a dramatic silk taffeta or organza train added to this gown since the large red carpet at the Venice Film Festival definitely would allow for a majorly dramatic moment like that. To keep the glamour of this look alive I would finish this look with a vintage inspired updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Krystal du Desert’ ankle wrap ribbon sandals, and a selection of Chopard Red Carpet Collection jewels including white diamond ‘Supurb’ drop earrings and a white diamond paisley cuff bracelet. It would definitely ensure that Queen Cate presides over the Venice Film Festival red carpet in nothing but the most glamorous manner.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “Marriage Story” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Heading into fall film festival season I have to say I would have expected that Noah Baumbach’s film Marriage Story for Netflix was heading in as a major Oscar contender. Well thanks to Gold Derby my interest is waning just a little. They rank films heading into awards season as either leading, strong, or possible contenders. Currently the highest ranking prediction they have is a Laura Dern as a leading contender for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. From there Gold Derby has the film listed as a strong contender for a Best Original Screenplay nomination and a Best Actor nomination for Adam Driver. When it comes to Best Actress for Scarlett Johansson, Best Director, and Best Picture the film is just currently just sitting at a possible contender ranking. I wouldn’t say that bodes well for the films chances come awards season overall, but since it is screening at almost all of the major film festivals I am interested in seeing what the cast will bring to the red carpets. Scarlett Johansson is the leading lady of Marriage Story and I am very interested in seeing what she and her stylist Molly Dickinson are cooking up for this film festival tour. The films first stop on the road to awards season will be an in competition premiere at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. This will be Scarlett’s third film screened at the Lido. When it comes to her style ScarJo has been slowly getting back into my good graces again this year and I am praying that this fall festival season headed into awards season that Scarlett just continues to get better and better. It would be kicked off in high style if she stepped onto the stage at the photocall for Marriage Story wearing this black and white Haider Ackermann Fall 2019 RTW ensemble which features a sleeveless draped tank top and a pair of black classic mid-rise and tapered-leg trousers. Now this look could be seen as very similar to the David Koma jumpsuit that Scarlett just wore for Comic-Con, but I think that the two looks are just different enough for her to have a really cool moment to wear for a Venice photocall. I would style this runway look with a sleek slicked back bob, defined eyes, dusty rose pink lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Spike Cross’ pointed toe d’Orsay leather pumps, a bit of sparkle via Anita Ko ‘Sophia’ swag draped huggie diamond drop earrings, and black and silver Prada metal cat-eye sunglasses with contrast brows. For the premiere I went for dramatic glamour. I want to see Scarlett really bring the drama to this red carpet so I decided to go the custom route. I would love to see her wearing this custom ruby red Alexander McQueen off the shoulder draped duchess satin gown which features a sweetheart neckline, a column silhouette, and a dramatic draped train jutting from the hip inspired by a cocktail dress from the labels Pre-Fall 2019 collection. This look is definitely movie star glamour and I want to see Scarlett exude that vibe from head to toe wearing this gown on the red carpet at the Marriage Story premiere in Venice. Finishing the ensemble with a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, ruby red lips, a pair of red Casadei ‘Julia’ metallic suede sandals, and a dazzling suite of Bulgari jewels including diamond stud earrings, a statement ‘Cinemagia’ high jewellery diamond collar necklace, and a ruby and diamond cocktail ring would definitely ensure that Scarlett kicks off this promo tour in high style. Given the fact that Laura Dern is the leading cast member in the race to the Oscars I definitely expect that she will be making the rounds with the cast and crew over the course of festival season. She is definitely one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet. I love what she and her stylist Cristina Ehrlich cook up for major red carpets and I am expecting that the two are working on a major wardrobe for her to wear over the course of the fall film festival season. For the Marriage Story photocall I would love to see Laura step onto the stage wearing this white eyelet Alaia Spring 2020 RTW sleeveless ankle length dress which features a high neckline and a flared hem. I am definitely happy that the house of Alaia is being kept alive in the wake of its namesake’s founders death. While this dress isn’t a boundary pushing design it has that effortless ease that one thinks of when they think of Italian fashion. A loose updo, defined eyes, nude pink lips, a pair of white Alaia ‘Bomb’ ankle strap sandals, statement green aluminum Emmanuel Tarpin diamond studded leaf drop earrings, and chic white Alaia round lens cat eye plastic frame sunglasses would add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble. Keeping the effortless glamour vibe going for the premiere I would love to see Laura take to the red carpet at the Lido wearing this black RR 331 Fall 2019 Couture sleeveless bias cut column gown which features sheer paneled cutouts, a jewel neckline, and a dramatic train. It is a very modern moment which is what I feel is Laura’s usual red carpet MO. Styling this gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, dusty rose pink lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Filamenta’ strappy platform peep toe sandals, and dazzling white diamond Tatiana Verstraeten ‘Rain’ cluster earrings would ensure that Laura is delivering her A-game on this red carpet. When it comes to the looks I want to see Stacy Martin bring to life on the Venice Film Festival red carpets this year as she takes in all the films of the festival as a member of the jury I am definitely casting a wide net. I haven’t picked a look from the same designer twice. Stacy has such a unique sense of style. We saw it on display earlier this year during her time on a Cannes Film Festival jury. She wore every length from mini Louis Vuitton to a tulle Dior Couture ball gown. I want to see her bring that same varried wardrobe to Venice with her. So far I have given Stacy a feathered ballgown, sheer pleated tulle with an a-line skirt, and a slinky column gown. Today I add this gold No. 21 Resort 2020 ‘Antonia’ sequin one shoulder gown which features a dramatic bow and a ruched elasticized waist to the wide range of looks I want to see Stacy bring to life in Venice. Now she is one of the few stars who has worn No. 21 in the past. The brand is one of my favorite and is severely underrated. This dazzling disco moment is a little more “extra” than I am used to seeing Stacy get on the red carpet, but when you are a juror at a major film festival I always say #WhenInDoubtBeExtra. A loose updo, defined eyes, nude pink lips, nude satin No. 21 sequin and crystal embellished strappy bow detail sandals, and vintage Cartier gold, diamond, and briolette emerald bouquet cluster drop earrings would definitely make this a major moment for Stacy. Finishing out today’s list the the beautiful face of the Armani Beauty summer 2019 advertising campaign Barbara Palvin. I really want to see Barbara deliver a really glamorous moment on the Venice Film Festival red carpet this year. I am expecting her to attend at least one premiere walking the red carpet as an ambassador for Armani as Armani Beauty is one of the presenting sponsors of this years festival. I decided to go for a very classically glamorous moment for Barbara to bring to life this year with this strapless black Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture crystal studded ballgown which features sheer tiered construction and a velvet waistband. This look is definitely nothing boundary pushing, but sometimes a perfectly executed classic moment can be just as impactful if not more. Now the key to making a classic look really come to life is in the styling. I would add a sleek vintage inspired updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a black velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ box clutch with dark green crown jewel detailing, a pair of simple black velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ stiletto sandals, and statement de Grisogono white diamond and emerald drop earrings to ensure that Barbara is just oozing glamour from head to toe with this ensemble.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “Joker” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Most of the time when I am talking about a comic book movie premiere it is for a promo tour that is screening in LA or London. Todd Phillips Joker is not going to be average though. The Warner Bros. produced DC film is being run as a contender for awards season. It will be making its world premiere in competition at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. When it comes to Oscar buzz Gold Derby has Joker listed as a leading contender for a Best Actor nomination for Joaquin Phoenix, a strong contender for a Best Picture nomination, and a possible contender for a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Robert De Niro. So that means that this is definitely one of the red carpets to watch. Zazie Beetz might not have any Oscar buzz behind her performance in Joker, but she is definitely one of my ones to watch heading into the fall festival season and awards season. She has been gaining traction with her red carpet repertoire thanks to her stylist Jason Bolden. He has dressed Zazie in Thom Browne, Ralph Lauren, and Stella McCartney this year alone and I have a feeling that this promo tour is going to mean even more major looks from the rising fashionista. I love that Zazie is quirky and isn’t afraid to share that with the world on the red carpet. So I definitely kept that in mind as I was picking the perfect looks for her to wear when in Venice promoting Joker. For the films photocall I would love to see Zazie wearing this Chloe Resort 2020 ensemble which features a white ruffled short sleeve peasant blouse with a v neckline and a pair of khaki brown high waisted wide leg pants which feature a pin stripe cuff hem. It is an easy moment but incredibly chic and I think it would be perfect for a film festival photocall, especially if paired with a teased out high ponytail, natural makeup, burgundy lips, and brown Chloe ‘Rylee’ cutout and buckled ankle boots. For the premiere I decided to turn back to Thom Browne. The iconic designer dress Zazie in a “Bride-Groom” Frankenstein gown for the Met Gala earlier this year and I am just hoping that forged a relationship that will continue to build over the coming weeks and months. Thom Browne is an underutilized designer who knows how to deliver amazing fashion moments for the red carpet. I don’t utilize his designs enough both direct from the runway or as source of inspiration for custom gowns. I did however immediately think of the designer when I saw that Joker was confirmed for Venice. I turned to his Fall 2019 Menswear collection as the source of inspiration for this amazing custom gown. Thom sent patchwork gowns created of different pieces of mens suits down this runway. One in particular had a similar off the shoulder neckline paired with a white button down shirt. For this custom gown Evita took sequined black, white, and red miss matched stripes and plaids to create this off the shoulder mermaid gown which features a dramatic train. Keeping the white shirt idea going I decided that instead this look would work better with a short sleeve version for Zazie. A sleek braided bun updo, smokey eyes, fire engine red lips, a pair of black crepe satin Christian Louboutin ‘Antinorina Strass’ pointed toe asymmetrical crystal embellished strappy d’Orsay pumps, and Anita Ko ‘Ava’ diamond wreath earrings would definitely add the perfect finishing touches to this look for a Venice Film Festival premiere. Italian fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni will be debuting a documentary at this years Venice Film Festival so I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpet. Typically her style is very feminine and flirty, sometimes bohemian; always glamorous. I want to see Chiara definitely bring something super dazzling to the red carpet at this years festival. She is definitely a slave to the brand and it will honestly shock me if the head of VIP PR for Etro doesn’t grab up Chiara as one of his many lovely ladies on the festivals red carpet. Instead of something red, pink, or really anything pastel (all colors I typically associate with Chiara) I decided I wanted to go down the darker metallic route to create the perfect moment for Chiara to bring to life on this red carpet. I sent Evita some patterns and sequins from the Etro Fall 2019 RTW collection and she turned them into this amazing custom strapless gown which features a sweetheart neckline, patterns turned into beaded embroidery on the bodice, and a liquid sheath skirt that drapes into a long train that trails behind her. This gown gives major sexy mermaid vibes and I can definitely see Chiara bringing this gown to life on this red carpet. Style it with old Hollywood waves, simple defined eyes, dark antique rose pink lips, grey Jimmy Choo ‘Mimi’ strappy leather sandals, and a pair of Pomellato ‘Victoria’ pendant earrings which feature diamond-dusted clasps and elongated, jet bodies and I know that Chiara will bring her absolute a-game. As I have now mentioned every day since I started posting my Venice wishes I am hoping that jury member Stacy Martin will deliver major fashion moments on the red carpet over the course of the festival. I pulled over 80 looks both runway and custom for her to wear on the red carpets over the course of the 11 day festival. Now while I would love to see her on a red carpet every day of the festival I know that isn’t likely. I want to at least see her on five or six big red carpets over the course of the festival. As I was pulling the looks for my “closet” of options for Stacy I knew that I had to feature this black Chanel Fall 2019 RTW gown which features structured ruffled sleeves, a drop waist, a pleated skirt, and crystal embellished buttons down the bodice. It is a very chic moment while I do feel like Virginie Viard’s Chanel is just an extension of Karl’s vision for the brand I do think that this gown would be amazing on Stacy. It fits her edgy take on glamour and would be perfectly styled with a loose updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black satin Roger Vivier “Bow Strass” sandals, and simple Chopard white diamond pendant drop earrings.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.

2019 Venice Film Festival: “Ad Astra” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

As I mentioned yesterday the Venice Film Festival is definitely one of the early stops for movies on the road to the Oscars. Last year three Oscar winners screened at Venice and so I am definitely checking in on that as I go through the films screening at this years festival. Ad Astra by James Gray is one of those possible films. Looking at Gold Derby of the Big 8 Awards (Picture, Director, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Adapted Screenplay, and Original Screenplay) Ad Astra is a strong contender for Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Brad Pitt, and Best Supporting Actress for Ruth Negga and a possible contender for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones. So I am really excited to see what the cast of this film will bring to the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival premiere. I would imagine it will be their absolute A-game. It has been a real hot minute since Liv Tyler has done a major red carpet. There was a period of time where Liv delivered major moments and I am hoping that when she steps out for the Venice Film Festival premiere of Ad Astra that she is on top her her style game. I decided to go with two designers Liv loves. For the films photocall I decided to go with Givenchy. I love this pink knit midi dress from the Givenchy Resort 2020 collection which features red lace trim, a mock turtleneck, long sleeves, and an a-line skirt. It is very in tune with Liv’s more conservative sense of style, but I wonder if it would be too warm for her to wear for an August red carpet. If she is willing to brave the end of a warm Italian summer on her way from her hotel to the hall where the photocall and press conference take place then I definitely think she should. Now a loose pulled back casual updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and a pair of red Givenchy ‘G Heel’ suede low block heel sandals would finish this look in a perfectly chic manner. For the premiere I decided to go with one of Liv’s old friends Stella McCartney. Both are the kids of Rock & Roll royalty and I can almost bet that she will design something super special for Liv to wear at some point during this tour. I love this black custom Stella McCartney long sleeve column gown which features strong shoulders, a rounded edge plunging v-neckline, a sweeping train, all over beading, and beaded fringe detailing the bodice and sleeves for Liv. It is glamour defined and I think that is exactly what we will see from her on this red carpet. She would definitely make this the major glam moment I am crazing from her by styling this gown with old Hollywood Veronica Lake waves, smokey eyes, red lips, a black Christian Louboutin ‘Palmette’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of simple black Christian Louboutin ‘Jonatina’ leather and PVC strap sandals, and statement Chopard Red Carpet collection baroque inspired diamond and emerald drop earrings. Given the fact that Ruth Negga is listed as a strong contender for an Oscar nomination right now I would imagine that she will be on her A-game during this promo tour. I decided to go with a bit of a surprising choice for the look I want to see Ruth wearing for the photocall. People who follow Ruth’s fashion journey would expect that she will wear either Louis Vuitton or Valentino for this promo tour. Instead of turning to the obvious I decided that I really would love to see Ruth wearing this black lace detail floral print Etro Fall 2019 RTW crepe mini dress which features high neck, long sheer sleeves, and a button-fastening keyhole at back. Etro’s new director of VIP Relations definitely hustled hard dressing all kinds of stars during the Cannes Film Festival last year. He actually was formerly the head of VIP at Alberta Ferretti and Philosophy which were all over the red carpets at big film festivals, so I would imagine that we will once again see Etro dominate in Venice and I believe this dress is perfect for Ruth. Now I would leave the silver metal belt at home instead opting for a pair of black suede Aquazzura lace up peep toe pumps, defined eyes, nude pink lips, and a pair of black and gold Louis Vuitton ‘La Boum’ cat eye sunglasses to make this look absolutely perfect. For the premiere I did go with more of an expected choice for Ruth to bring to life on the red carpet. I turned to Louis Vuitton and the brands Cruise 2020 collection as the source of this custom gown. the floral sequin embroidered bodice of this gown came off a look was was so over styled with velvet and satin. Evita, whom edits these custom gowns for me, took that bodice and added the gold beaded panels down the side with the champagne sequin stripe down the center to create this uber amazing custom Louis Vuitton column gown. This gown could easily be one of the best Louis Vuitton custom red carpet moments ever and I believe that Ruth would definitely make this gown come to life on this red carpet. A chic fingerwave hairstyle, defined smokey eyes, dark antique rose pink lips, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Linda’ metallic leather strappy sandals, and glamorous 18k gold set Bulgari diamond and emerald fringe chandelier earrings would definitely finish this look in a very glamorous manner. It could definitely make for a major Best of Venice contender. I am praying that Jury member Stacy Martin will continue her major fashion run from the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. She brought so many chic fashion moments to the red carpets and it has made me really excited to see what all she will cook up for the red carpets in Venice. I am definitely mixing up my labels for Stacy taking her from her small normal comfort zone of labels and expanding those horizons with these wishes. I want to see Stacy really bring the glamour to Venice and this midnight blue silk jersey halter gown which features a silver sequined bustier from the Schiaparelli Fall 2019 Couture collection would definitely be a very glamorous step for Stacy to take out of her comfort zone. This chic gown is the perfect meshing of classic elegance and modernity. While the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival is a great platform for big gowns with long trains I think that this simplistic silhouette is great for Stacy to make sure she is giving a wide variety of styles over the course as her run as a jury member. Stye this gown with a wavy hairstyle pinned behind the ears, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of navy satin Roger Vivier ‘Viv’ bling buckle platform sandals, and Chopard ‘Magic Setting’ white diamond floral drop earrings to ensure that this look is head to toe perfection. Like Cannes the Venice Film Festival red carpets are also filled with the glamour of brand ambassadors. The official beauty sponsor of the 2019 Venice Film Festival is Armani Beauty. This is the second year that Armani Beauty has sponsored the festival. Last year it meant that friends of the brand made the jaunt to the city of canals to help celebrate the brand and the films that were screening. Cate Blanchett continued her reign as the queen of Armani last year presiding over two premieres wearing the brand on the red carpet at the Lido. I would be SHOCKED if Cate doesn’t once again make the trip to Venice to walk the red carpet for Armani as she is still the face of the brands perfume “Si.” I would love to see Cate deliver a very 50’s/60’s glam moment wearing this oyster silver satin Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture strapless a-line gown which features intricate beaded embellishments on the bodice and a pleated skirt. I definitely think that this gown would take the right person to really make it work on the red carpet. The pleated skirt needs a statuesque woman who knows how to post regally without looking stiff, and Cate definitely knows how to do that! A vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, red lips, a silver Judith Leiber Couture ‘Soho’ metallic leather clutch with a crystal embellished clasp, a pair of silver glitter Aquazzura ‘Soul’ sling back pointed toe pumps, and a dazzling selection of Chopard ‘Superb’ suite jewels including diamond drop earrings and a matching collar necklace would ensure that Cate delivers every ounce of glamour we have come to expect from her.

The 2019 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday August 28, 2019 and runs through Saturday September 7, 2019.
