2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 9

Well the 2019 Emmy Awards are tomorrow night and I am so super excited about this red carpet. From the nominees to the presenters to the performers to the plus ones I have set my expectations for this red carpet tomorrow night high. I hope I haven’t set them too high. I have been super disappointed lately, but I definitely believe that all the stars who are attending this red carpet tomorrow night are way more than capable of making major Best Dressed of the Year worthy moments on the Emmy Awards red carpet. Some of my favorite wishes of the final 23 you will see below are the Ralph & Russo Couture gown I want to see Gwyneth Paltrow wear, the white Burberry Spring 2020 RTW hot off the runway gown I want to see on Kerry Washington, and the black crystal studded Michael Kors Spring 2020 RTW gown I want to see Marisa Tomei bring to life on the red carpet tomorrow. Though with that being said I love all of these wishes and I would be ecstatic if any of them came to life on tomorrows red carpet.

Who are you excited to see on the red carpet tomorrow?

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place tomorrow Sunday September 22, 2019.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 8

I am trying to play catch up when it comes to my 2019 Emmy Awards wishes to make sure I get as many looks in for this years red carpet as possible. I haven’t been able to stick to my posting schedule as life has continued to get in the way, but I am trying to hustle and get them out even if it isn’t the most consistent. Julia Louis Dreyfus seems to be the front runner to take home her final Emmy for her performance in VEEP. Over the years I have had a love hate relationship with Julia’s red carpet style. I know she has potential, but she just hasn’t WOWED me in a while. She typically does so wearing simple, sleek, and slinky style gowns. I feel like Julia would definitely be in my good graces if she stepped onto this red carpet wearing this royal blue Jason Wu Collection cascading satin ruffled gown which features a camisole style bodice, a v-neckline, and a column silhouette. This gown is everything that I have described as one of the better angels of Julia’s past red carpet looks and while I did find this gown off the rack at Bergdorf Goodman I think it would be the perfect option for her to bring to life on this red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of matching blue Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Neyla’ ankle strap sandals, and simple Niwika ‘Umeutage’ white diamond chandelier earrings would definitely make this a perfect Emmy’s ready red carpet. There is a history that someone grabs a look right off the Marc Jacobs runway from New York Fashion Week to bring to life on the Emmy Awards red carpet. This year I would love to see Naomi Watts be the one to do just that. I feel like it has been a real hot minute since we last saw Naomi deliver a real dazzling moment on the red carpet. So when I saw her name announced as one of the many presenters for Sunday’s Emmy Awards I got really excited. I started thinking of options for her to wear on this red carpet, but all of them were pushed to the side as soon as I saw this gold sequin Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 RTW gown which features a turtleneck bodice with long sleeves and a flared hem skirt. The look just screamed Naomi to me and I can definitely imagine it being an absolutely MAHJOR moment for her to wear on this red carpet. Now it is definitely a super dazzling disco moment and some may not want to wear something like this if they aren’t nominated, but I think that Naomi would know how to make this look the epitome of effortless glam for this red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of gold leather Jimmy Choo ‘Leta’ pointed toe ankle strap pumps, and simple Victorian gold and diamond dart drop earrings from Fred Leighton would definitely make this look the perfect presenter moment for Naomi to wear on this red carpet. Robin Wright is also nominated for her final Emmy for her performance in the Netflix series House of Cards. It has been a while since Robin has walked a major awards show red carpet giving a major look. She is currently dating the head of VIP PR for Saint Laurent, so I would imagine that if we see her on this red carpet Sunday night that Robin will wear a custom look from Saint Laurent. I didn’t have the time to create a custom gown so I was shopping the New York Fashion Week runways looking for the perfect look for Robin to bring to life on the Emmy Awards red carpet. One show I knew I had to watch with the thought of finding a gown for Robin was the Brandon Maxwell Spring 2020 RTW show. Now while I didn’t exactly find a gown for Robin to wear on this red carpet I did fall in love with her wearing this black strapless palazzo pant tuxedo inspired jumpsuit from the same collection. It wouldn’t be the first time that Robin has worn pants for an Emmy Awards red carpet, but this look is different from some of the other pants looks that Robin has worn in the past as it gives more of a gown effect than the looks she typically wears. Finishing this gown with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a black glittered acrylic Edie Parker ‘Lara’ clutch, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Thodorella’ leather and mesh pointed toe pumps, and a statement Messika Paris High Jewelry ‘North Wind’ diamond collar necklace would definitely get me excited about what Robin is wearing on the red carpet. This Is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson may not be nominated or presenting at this years Emmy Awards, but given the fact she has a role in a film that is getting a lot of awards season buzz so I am sure that I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpets. She has been wearing a lot of Christian Siriano on the red carpets this year, but I am almost completely over his brand of too over the top. So instead of turning to one of his designs for Susan to wear for the Emmy Awards on Sunday night I’ve decided to snag her this hot off the runway hot pink Cong Tri Spring 2020 RTW asymmetric gown which features a single sleeve, ruffled detail, a high split (that I would want to see brought down just a little for Susan), and a slight train. I would want to see her style this gown with a chic braided updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a hot pink crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slim Slide’ minaudiere, a pair of hot pink, rose pink, and burgundy Jimmy Choo ‘Lilah’ strappy sandals, and dazzling Anabela Chan fuchsia pink sapphire and white diamond chandelier earrings to really make this a wow moment. Zendaya has been loving a great suit moment on the red carpets lately. I had gone back and forth on whether or not to pick another suit for her to wear on the Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday night. She will be one of the nights many presenters and I definitely want to see her deliver a major fashion moment on this red carpet. I decided that this black velvet tuxedo from the Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya Fall 2019 RTW collection which features intricate silver beaded embellishments on the lapels and down the side of the pants would be a really cool moment for her to wear on the Emmy’s red carpet. A sleek center parted hairstyle, smokey eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Naked Bow’ PVC and satin pointed toe pumps, and a statement Lorraine Schwartz white diamond and emerald necklace to simulate a tie would all ensure that this look is sexy and glamorous from head to toe.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday September 22, 2019.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 7

We are now just less than a week away from the 2019 Emmy Awards. Between the nominees and the presenters that keep getting announced I am really excited to see what this years red carpet will bring. I want to believe that this years Emmy’s red carpet will bring some major moments to the red carpet. Now I set my expectations for the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals super high and was disappointed, majorly. So I am hoping that I am not setting myself up for even more disappointment setting the bar for glamour to my usual high standards for the 2019 Emmy Awards. Angela Bassett knows how to deliver DRAMA on the red carpet and she showcased that over the course of awards season earlier this year. Now you would think that I would have picked another WOW moment for her with lots of structured volume, which has been her red carpet MO lately, but instead with this chartreuse Ailette Spring 2020 RTW asymmetrical jersey gown which features long sleeves and a high split. I feel that while this isn’t exactly what we are used to seeing Angela deliver on the red carpet lately that this look would still make this a perfect look for this years Emmy Awards, especially since she is just presenting. A sleek high bun updo, defined eyes, dark antique rose pink lips, a silver Jimmy Choo ‘Leonis’ metallic nappa leather clutch with a crystal brooch embellishment, a pair of silver metallic leather Aquazzura ‘Zana’ slingback pointed toe sandals, and a suite of dazzling Amwaj white diamond jewels including drop earrings, a collar necklace, and a matching cocktail ring.Janet Mock is definitely one to keep our eyes on. The POSE star might not be nominated, or an announced presenter at this point, but I definitely am expecting her to serve a look on this red carpet. She made the rounds during New York Fashion Week (in addition to being front row at the Valentino Couture show back in July) and I am sure she was shopping with her stylist Jason Bolden for the perfect Emmy’s gown. Now the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2020 show was not one of the presentations that Janet was seated front row at, but when I thought about her wearing this black cutout silk taffeta gown which features a halter neckline, dramatic bow detail, an a-line skirt, and a ruffled high-low hemline I was sold on the idea. Now typically I wouldn’t go for a high-low gown for the Emmy’s, but for a guest of a show I think it would be a fun moment. Styling the look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Fleur’ sandals with a silver crystal embellished rose, and Kallati jewels including a pair of simple white diamond twist drop earrings and a selection of white diamond band rings would definitely make this a major WOW moment on the Emmy Awards red carpet. I feel like heading into this years Emmy Awards I do believe that Maisie Williams is the front runner to take home the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for what I have heard is her epic performance in the final season of Game of Thrones. This means that I need Maisie to deliver a really major moment on this red carpet. I decided to create a custom Coach gown for Maisie, since she is a friend and face of the brand, to deliver on this red carpet. I want to see Stuart Vevers create this vibrant purple a-line glittered tulle gown which features cutout shoulders, thin beaded straps, flutter cap sleeves, a v-neckline, beaded lace panels on the waist, and beaded applique panels on the skirt. This dress embraces the westward ho! americana point of view that Vevers has steered Coach into since taking over the label about six years ago. I think that this chic moment is definitely something that Maisie would be drawn to. She has been loving colored hair so I would love to see her have soft lavender hair to match this dress styled in a loose updo. Finishing the look with defined winged eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of purple Prada open toe suede chunky heel sandals, and FV Fine Jewellery tanzanite and rubelite cluster drop earrings would definitely make this a real wow moment for Maisie’s potential first Emmy win. Olivia Colman is a quirky soul and that translates to her wardrobe. I have to say that I am not typically a huge fan of Olivia’s style, but since her performance in Fleabag seems to be the one to beat in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday I decided to include her in my regular written out wishes instead of just in my gallery round up wishes that will come the day before the red carpet. I do think that this salmon pink silk Rochas Resort 2020 gown which features a ruched dolman sleeve bodice, a beaded applique on the shoulder, and a gathered flared hem is something she would be drawn to. I think that this look is the mix of the feminine elegance and bohemian glamour to appeal to Olivia’s sense of style. Defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of blush satin Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ crystal embellished pointed toe pumps, and antique 19th century white diamond pear shaped drop earrings from Fred Leighton would definitely make this a very Olivia look on the red carpet of the 2019 Emmy Awards. Rounding out this list is the gorgeous Marvelous Mrs. Maisel herself Rachel Brosnahan. She is the defending champion in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category at this years Emmy’s. I will say with the fact that Julia Louis-Dreyfus is nominated for her final Emmy for VEEP and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is seemingly the favorite for her performance in Fleabag. I am interested in seeing what Rachel will wear on this red carpet. She has become a Dior darling lately, but as with almost everyone who wears Dior lately the looks just fall flat to me. I decided instead to turn to the same label that dressed Rachel earlier this year for the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year, Prada, to have the perfect gown for her to wear for this Sunday nights red carpet. I envisioned this custom dark green Prada gown which features an asymmetric bodice, sequin detail from the shoulder down into the bodice and all the way down to the hem, a flowing a-line skirt, and a chic train to add a bit of drama based on a vintage Prada dress I found on The Real Real. This gown basically just took the sequin draping from that dress, which had a more casual air about it despite all the sequins (there was a crumpled tye-dye vibe about the fabric on that dress), and I definitely believe that making this a silk chiffon gown makes it a beautiful moment. A sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of simple black suede Prada ankle strap sandals, and dazzling Bulgari High Jewelry diamond & emerald chandelier earrings would definitely make sure that Rachel at least wins the red carpet Sunday.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday September 22, 2019.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

Sorry this post is getting to you later than usual today. I have been repainting my kitchen cabinets which has become a much larger project than I was expecting. So it has made me fall behind just a little bit with my writing. So since we are officially one week to the 2019 Emmy Awards I am just going to dive right into this set of wishes for this years red carpet. Kicking things off today is VEEP star Anna Chlumsky who finds herself nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the final season of the HBO series. I have a feeling that HBO is going to sweep the 2019 Emmy Awards, but when it comes to this category I don’t know if Anna will be able to pull out a win. I definitely want to see her win for the shows final season. What I really want to see from Anna on this red carpet is winning the glamour of it all and that is what I think would happen if she stepped onto the Emmy’s red carpet wearing this teal Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Fall 2019 halter gown which features a cummerbund waist, a tiered tulle skirt, and intricate beaded embroidery. The gown is feminine elegance and I definitely think it could be one of Anna’s best red carpet looks on the red carpet. I can’t actually recall off the top of my head any of Anna’s past red carpet looks, but this would definitely make for a really chic moment. A sleek updo, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of bronze Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and dazzling Anabela Chan ‘Lily of the Valley’ drop earrings with white diamonds, emeralds, and freshwater pearls all would finish this look in the most perfect way possible. Joey King has earned her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her portrayal of Gypsy Rose Blanchard in The Act. I am really excited to see what she and her stylist, blogger Jared Eng, will be cooking up for this years red carpet. Last year Joey went full princess in a Zac Posen tulle ball gown. I decided to keep those princess vibes alive, but infusing just a little bit of edge into it with this dark emerald green and black Mark Bumgarner Fall 2019 Couture strapless ballgown which features a bustier bodice, all over sequin embroidery, and a ball skirt. I think that this sexy yet glam moment is definitely something we haven’t seen from Joey in the past, but since she is 20 years old I feel like it is definitely a perfect moment for her to bring to life on the Emmy Awards red carpet especially if styled with a fun pixie, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Farrah Strappy’ pointed toe pumps with a crystal embellished heel, simple diamond stud earrings, and a dazzling Samer Halimeh New York white diamond teardrop collar necklace.I know that Laura Linney has the potential do deliver really chic moments on the red carpet, but it has been a while since she has delivered a moment that made me really excited. I am hoping that since she is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the Netflix series Ozark that Laura will deliver that moment I am so desperately craving from her. I think that this brown Max Mara Resort 2020 strapless fil a coupe column gown which features a belted waist and a thigh high split would be that absolutely glamorous fashion moment I am craving from her. It isn’t a major couture look, but it has just enough detail to really bring a level of visual intricacy to Laura’s style. Finish the gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, burgundy lips, a bronze Bottega Veneta crystals knot clutch, bronze Manolo Blahnik ‘Lidia’ nappa leather strappy sandals, and simple yet chic vintage Bulgari white diamond and emerald ‘Lotus’ drop stud earrings and it will make for the perfect moment for Laura deliver on the 2019 Emmy Awards red carpet. Margaret Qualley had a chic red carpet run during the 2019 Venice Film Festival, but then skipped out on the red carpets at the Toronto Film Festival. I am definitely interested in seeing what Margaret will wear for her very first Emmy Awards where she is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her performance in Fosse/Verdon. I know that Margaret will deliver a chic couture moment on this red carpet. She is a darling of Miu Miu, Prada, Gucci, and Dior so of course I had to turn to one of them for Margaret’s first Emmy Awards red carpet. I think that this black feather Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features a beaded netting bustier with a sweetheart neckline and a draped one shoulder detail would definitely be a really major moment for Margaret to bring this gown to life of the red carpet. It is definitely is a statement look. My only fear is a dark step and repeat where this gown would fade into the backdrop, but I think that with the right styling and a lot of effortless presence that this look could be a major Best of the Emmy’s list contender. I think that the perfect styling for this look include a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black lace Gianvito Rossi ankle strap sandals with bunny ears, and dazzling Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Collection ‘Art of the Wild’ pear-shaped and round brilliant white diamond drop earrings.Viola Davis is not only nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in How To Get Away With Murder, but will also be one of the many presenters at this years ceremony. For this red carpet I want to see Viola shut it down and so I turned to the one and only Donatella Versace to create a glamorous and modern custom moment for her. This sleek and dramatic custom white Atelier Versace mermaid gown features a single draped puffy sleeve and a sweeping train is inspired by a cocktail dress from the Atelier Versace Fall 2019 Couture collection which as soon as I saw it thought it would be such a glamorous moment for Viola to deliver on the Emmy Awards red carpet. Now this sleek gown is a perfect canvas for a major jewelry moment so I decided to pair this gown with statement black opal, paraiba tourmaline, white diamond, and sapphire diamond Davis Morris drop earrings to add a real wow moment to this look. A chic teased out afro, defined eyes, red lips, a white Judith Leiber Couture box clutch, and a pair of white glitter Christian Louboutin pointed toe pumps would all ensure that Viola delivers high glamour on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday September 22, 2019.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

We have just over a week until this years Emmy Awards and I have to say that aside from a single look here and there that I am still CRAVING those major fashion moments on the red carpet. The stars in this set of wishes are some whom I don’t know who will attend, a fresh face, a star whom I believe has potential but doesn’t live up to it, a rising fashion superstar, and a dude whom I want to shake up the menswear game. I definitely went for dazzling glamour for these wishes. Are you ready to dive right in?Beyonce is actually nominated for several Creative Arts Emmy’s this week for her Netflix special Homecoming. Now I highly doubt that Bey will attend the “Schemmy’s” as they were so beautifully dubbed by comedienne Kathy Griffin a decade ago. Beyonce doesn’t walk a whole lot of red carpets. The LA and London premieres for The Lion King earlier this summer were actually the first red carpets the Beyonce has walked in two years. That being said if she sneaks in a back door at the Primetime Emmy Awards next weekend then I want to see her do it in high glamour. I decided to go with a very glamorous, and highly sexy, moment for Beyonce to wear for the 2019 Emmy Awards with this dark purple Nicholas Jebran Fall 2019 Couture draped column gown which features intricate beading allover, a dramatic plunging neckline, and long fitted sleeves. The gown is definitely glamour and sex appeal defined and I am really interested in seeing what Beyonce could do with this look. A sleek updo, smokey eyes, dark crimson red lips, a pair of purple satin and PVC Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ pointed toe pumps, and black diamond Lorraine Schwartz three hoop earrings with white diamond teardrop pendants would definitely make this an absolutely major moment for Bey to deliver for the 2019 Emmy Awards. Up next is a rising star, Florence Pugh. She is part of the cast of the Amazon Prime Video film King Lear nominated for Outstanding Television Movie. I hope we see her on the Emmy Awards red carpet because I really want to get to know her style more heading into her promo tour this fall for Little Women. I would love to see Florence deliver glamour on the Emmy Awards red carpet next weekend is this black silk and satin Alexis Mabille Fall 2019 Couture bustier gown which features a draped bow halter neckline in white satin with a generous high low skirt and a sweeping train. I believe that this gown delivers a look that while Florence isn’t a major player, yet, I think would definitely put her in great footing on the springboard of her major upcoming fall/winter season. Finishing this look for Florence with a sleek vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, soft nude lips, black suede Jimmy Choo ‘Talaya’ crystal embellished ankle tied sandals, and dazzling white diamond Chopard Red Carpet Collection drop earrings would ensure that Florence definitely is able to capture attention.Seeing that she has exited her role as a Saturday Night Live cast member this very well could be the last Emmy Awards where Kate McKinnon is nominated. When it comes to her red carpet style I am always wanting just a little bit more from her. I don’t know if she just needs a new stylist, or if designers just won’t lend to her. I don’t know why they wouldn’t. She is a big recognizable name and I know that given the right gown and styling I know that Kate could deliver a glamorous moment on the red carpet. I decided to go right to something dazzling for Kate picking the purple sequin Naeem Khan Resort 2020 halter neck column gown almost immediately. I feel like this gown delivers a major glamour moment that I could see Kate wear. Now I feel like I would ask Naeem Khan to customize this gown to have a dramatic train, but that might be pushing it a little bit too far outside of Kate’s comfort zone. Now I know this look would be that glamorous moment for Kate especially if styled with a sleek side parted low bun, smokey eyes, nude pink lips, a pair of simple black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and and a pair of dazzling white diamond Butani floral drop earrings.I am SUPER excited to see what POSE star MJ Rodriguez will bring to the red carpet at the Emmy Awards next weekend. The actress has been SERVING moments on the red carpet since bursting onto the scene earlier this year. She started the year wearing a lot of Prabal Gurung, but her dossier of designers has expanded to labels like Erdem, Dundas, Cong Tri, and Richard Quinn. I have decided that the Emmy Awards is the perfect place for MJ to have her first major couture moment. So when I was picking looks for this red carpet I went right to my Fall 2019 Couture folder to search for the perfect gown for MJ to wear on this red carpet. When I saw this bright tangerine orange Georges Hobeika Fall 2019 Couture asymmetrically draped gown which features a single caped sleeve, cutout bodice, a thigh high split, and a black feathered waist I immediately thought it would be the most major moment for MJ to bring to life on the red carpet at the 2019 Emmy Awards. It is the perfect meshing of drama, sex appeal, and glamour and would be an absolutely major moment on MJ especially when styled with orange Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Neyla’ ankle strap sandals, a teased curl bob, defined eyes, dark red lips, and deGrisogono brown diamond and citrine drop earrings. Finishing out today is Richard Madden who stars in the Outstanding Drama Series nominated Netflix show Bodyguard. I personally loved this show. It was an easy binge for me. I was shocked that after a Golden Globe win for his role in the series that Richard wasn’t nominated for an Emmy for his performance in the show. I do hope that he still attends this years Emmy Awards, because well he is just pretty to look at. For this red carpet I decided to go with a midnight blue tuxedo picking this Emporio Armani Spring 2020 Menswear double breasted tuxedo jacket which features a pixelated metallic jacquard pattern and contrasting satin lapels. Now I wouldn’t keep the full runway styling. I would style it in a rather classic manner with a crisp white tuxedo shirt, a matching navy satin bow tie, a pair of navy tuxedo pants with a satin stripe down the side, and black Christian Louboutin ‘Officialito P’ scalloped jacquard tassel detail loafers. Richard isn’t know for taking major fashion risks like Billy Porter, Timothee Chalamet, and even Eddie Redmayne I do think that this look fits in with his style and would add the perfect look for him to deliver on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday September 22, 2019.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

I did have a plan to get this set of Emmy Wishes yesterday, but life got in the way. Instead of cutting those wishes off I decided that I would just push them to today. I did have the leeway to do that. I took the day off to make sure that I was accomplishing what I needed to do in my personal life and still be able to give my full self when I am at my day job. Sometimes you just need to close the laptop, go get into bed, and binge watch Downton Abbey episodes. But here I am making sure that I am putting my wishes out there into the universe for the red carpet at the 2019 Emmy Awards. Ava DuVernay is nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special and Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special thanks to her Netflix limited series When They See Us, which is also nominated for Outstanding Limited Series. I definitely think that she is a very likely candiate to take home at least one Emmy this year. I want to see her do a chic look with this black Celine Fall 2019 RTW chiffon gown which features a high neck and a caped blouse. Celine is a bit of an unexpected choice for Ava because Heidi Slimane is not exactly known for embracing diversity or women with curves in his shows, but when I was looking for the perfect gown for Ava to wear on this red carpet this one just kept sticking in the back of my mind. So I decided to say why not? If I don’t put the wish out into the universe it will never happen. Now this all being said Ava co-chairs the Prada Diversity Initiative board and we will most likely see her wearing a custom Prada gown on this red carpet. I would style this black Celine gown for Ava with a high bun of dreads, defined eyes, nude lips, a black Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ velvet clutch embellished with dark green crown jewels, a pair of black velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Love’ pointed toe crystal necklace detail pumps, and chic statement white diamond and emerald David Webb ‘Cross River’ disc earrings to make this a major moment for her to deliver on this red carpet. Catherine Zeta Jones is always a big supporter of her husband Michael Douglas. He is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Kominsky Method (a performance that has already won him a Golden Globe Award) and will be presenting. So I wonder if, and am hoping, that Catherine will be on the red carpet with him. Now I believe what Catherine will wear on this red carpet will depend on if she is a presenter or just a plus one. Either way I want to see Catherine take the go big or go home mentality wearing this ruby red velvet Zuhair Murad Fall 2019 Couture column gown which features cold shoulders, belted waist, straight neckline, and a cape with pleated chiffon and velvet panels. I adore this gown as presented on the runway and can just imagine that Catherine turning this into a major regal moment on the Emmy Awards red carpet. A sleek vintage inspired bun updo, defined eyes, matching lips, a pair of red silk Giuseppe Zanotti bow detail ankle strap sandals, and dazzling Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019 white diamond and ruby waterfall chandelier earrings would definitely make this that regal moment that I am craving from Catherine on this red carpet. Famke Jensen appears in the Outstanding Limited Series nominated Netflix series When They See Us. I have long been a fan of Famke’s style on the red carpet and I am hoping that she delivers her top form glam on the red carpet at the 2019 Emmy Awards if she attends to support her nominated project. The new Spring 2020 collections might have just come down the New York Fashion Week runways (best of lists to come!), but I am going back to the Prabal Gurung Fall 2019 RTW collection for the gown I most want to see Famke deliver on this red carpet. I fell in love with this black and white Prabal Gurung ‘Kingston’ velvet gown which is designed with a ruffled V-neck in an A-line silhouette. The fitted bodice is decorated with contrasting ruffles around the shoulders while the full skirt adds dimension for a flattering silhouette and I believe that this “modern vintage” inspired gown would be an absolutely gorgeous moment on Famke especially if styled with a sleek side pared updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a black Judith Leiber Couture ‘Cayman’ crocodile leather box clutch with a crystal embellished clasp, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Araborda’ peep toe crystal embellished slingback sandals, and dazzling diamonds from Norman Silverman including large stud earrings and a five row collar necklace.Pose star Indya Moore is always one of the coolest girls on the red carpet. She knows how to deliver major looks and carry some of the edgier moments on the red carpet. She is also a big Louis Vuitton girl. So when I was thinking of the perfect look for Indya to wear on the Emmy Awards red carpet I knew I had the ability to pick something really out there and fashion forward. Enter this Louis Vuitton Resort 2020 ensemble which features a black art deco trompe de l’oeil ruffle pointed crop top embellished with crystal beading and a pair of high waisted slim fit pants. I LOVE this look. It is super glam, modern, and extra. These are all things that I am drawn to and I feel like Indya could deliver on this red carpet at the Emmy Awards. A sleek high ponytail, smokey eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Call Back’ pointed toe pumps with a silver crystal embellished cap toe would definitely make this a major Best of the Emmy’s worthy moment. Julia Garner is definitely one to watch on this red carpet. She is growing better and better with each red carpet she walks and I am expecting something wow from her on the 2019 Emmy Awards red carpet. I decided to go the custom route for Julia having my custom designer create this custom deep blue Gucci silk and lace gown which features a high neck, sleeveless bodice, a crystal bow on the waist, a pleated a-line skirt, and a dramatic train. The gown is inspired by the lace we saw from a look in the Gucci Resort 2020 collection and I definitely believe that this custom gown could be an absolutely gorgeous moment for Julia to deliver on the Emmy’s red carpet. A fingerwave updo, a thin diamond headband, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of silver Gucci ‘Crawford’ nappa metallic leather sandals with crystal fringe and flower chain detail, and a selection of vintage jewels from Beladora including a pair of diamond flower earrings in blackened 18k gold and a statement art deco diamond bracelet would definitely make this the moment I am so desperately hoping we see from Julia on this red carpet.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday September 22, 2019.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

So we are just a week and a half from this years Emmy Awards. I am getting super excited. From who is nominated to potential looks coming down the New York Fashion Week runways I am expecting for this red carpet to be full of really chic moments. I want to go back to the era where an Emmy’s red carpet look was bold enough to sear a lasting impact on my mind and make it all the way to my Best Dressed of the Year List. The last time an Emmy’s look made my Best Dressed of the Year list was back in 2015 thanks to a hot off the runway Marc Jacobs dress worn by Kerry Washington. I’m praying for high fashion moments like that. I don’t know if any of the ladies in this set of wishes will deliver something like that Marc Jacobs moment, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want them to put their most glamorous foot forward. Amy Poehler has been loving a suit moment this year. She has worn them for almost all of her major red carpet appearances. Honestly I don’t usually get that excited about Amy’s red carpet style, but since she does have a nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series as a co-writer of Russian Doll I thought I would pick a look for her. Honestly looking for looks for Amy is usually really difficult for me, but given all of her suit moments lately this black Emilio Pucci Resort 2020 tuxedo which features a beaded lapel on the blazer and the tuxedo stripe on the high waisted palazzo pant immediately popped into my brain. I can definitely see this being a look that Amy would be drawn too. I would just need the tailoring and proportions to be impeccable for it to really be a major suiting moment on the red carpet. That really is the key to an impeccable moment on a red carpet with any suit, on a male or female. Tailoring could mean the difference between Amy wearing this suit and it wearing her. Now to style this look I would actually want to maintain a balance of masculine and feminine. A loose updo, defined eyed, red lips, a black Swarovski crystal encrusted Tyler Ellis ‘Lee Pouchet Small’ clutch, a pair of black flat Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Girl Spikes’ glitter and suede derbies, and a selection of Martin Katz diamonds including a pair of sleek drop earrings and an oval cut cocktail ring would definitely make this look one of the best things that Amy has ever worn on a red carpet. Betty Gilpin is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in GLOW. I can honestly tell you I have never seen the series, just the ladies on the red carpet and I won’t lie Betty isn’t exactly my favorite cast member when it comes to red carpet fashion. I feel like Betty definitely has potential to deliver woe moments, but she almost always ends up looking disheveled. I was out looking at Alexander McQueen on the racks of the online stores looking for inspiration for a custom look for another starlet to wear on this red carpet and I found this raspberry pink strapless draped silk asymmetrically crystal embellished floor length. I don’t typically like to pick an off the rack look that anyone can go online and buy for a nominee for a major award, but I think that this beautiful gown is perfectly in tune with Betty’s style so I decided to go for it. It is glamorous and relaxed yet also edgy and I think that is what is at the core of Betty’s sense of style. Styling the look with a sleek updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a silver Alexander McQueen crystal clasp metal box clutch, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Debbie’ silver chain ankle strap sandals, and simple sparkle in the ears from Jack Vartanian ‘Comet’ diamond ear crawlers would definitely make this one of Betty’s red carpet looks. Kristen Bell is another whom I know has potential, but often time doesn’t live up to the expectations I set for her. I will say though that when it comes to the really big red carpets that Kristen usually ups her game. As I pulled the looks from the Monique Lhuillier Spring 2020 RTW collection I fell in love with this dramatic red tulle ballgown which features a single long puffy sleeve with a high crystal button embellished cuff, a belted waist with a crystal embellished buckle, and a ball skirt that trails into a glamorous train. I didn’t put too much thought at the time into who I wanted to see wearing it on a red carpet, but as I sat down to pick my wishes for the 2019 Emmy Awards I immediately thought of this gown when it came time to pick something for Kirsten who stars in the Outstanding Comedy Series nominated show The Good Place. This gown is pretty basic, but the sleeve gives it just enough of the twist to make it interesting. Finishing the look with a sleek updo, soft smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of red crystal embellished satin Gianvito Rossi ‘Glam’ simple sandals, and dazzling Norman Silverman floral pear shape white diamond drop earrings would definitely make sure that Kristen really delivers a moment on this red carpet, even if she isn’t nominated for an Emmy herself. Mandy Moore finally has found herself nominated for an Emmy for her performance in This Is Us. This is the first time she has earned an Emmy nomination and given some of the looks she has worked on this red carpet in the past supporting her nominated show and co-stars I am expecting that Mandy will be on tip top form when she steps onto the red carpet at the 2019 Emmy Awards. I went for full on glamour for Mandy to deliver on this red carpet with rose gold silk chiffon draped Ralph & Russo Fall 2019 Couture gown which features a micro-pleated bodice and a hand embroidered Art Deco fan adorned with rose gold sequins, pearls and gold stones, finished with a back sash. It isn’t and edgy or ground breaking design, but just a major glamour moment and that is what I think Mandy does best. Take this gown and add a sleek vintage inspired updo, rose gold smokey eyes, antique rose pink lips, a silver Christian Louboutin ‘Palmette’ crystal embellished clutch, ivory nude Christian Louboutin ‘Degrastrass’ crystal embellished PVC pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Niwika diamonds including a pair of simple ‘Hanayuki’ diamond drop earrings and a dazzling ‘Hanagurma’ diamond cuff bracelet to ensure that Mandy dazzles with head to toe glamour. Finishing out this list is Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. I am expecting that Sophie will live up to expectations of her Louis Vuitton ambassadorship and wear a custom designed gown for her on the red carpet. I am definitely not counting any of the Game of Thrones cast members out when it comes to a win at this years Emmy Awards so I am really pushing for all of them to be on top form when they step out onto this red carpet. While she has been full court wearing the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 collection on the red carpet since it was presented back in May, but I decided to go back to the Louis Vuitton Fall 2019 RTW collection for the inspiration for this custom gown for Sophie. I would love to see Nicholas Ghesquiere put this gunmetal grey strapless column gown which features an intricate sequin scroll pattern all over, a dramatic crystal embellished sweetheart neckline bustier, zipper detail down the bodice, a belted waist, and a short sweeping train into production for Sophie. It just screams modern glamour and I definitely think that Sophie would be able to shut this moment down on the red carpet especially if paired with old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Call Back’ logo crystal embellished strappy sandals, and a selection of Louis Vuitton High Jewelry including a pair of “Rider of the Knights Le Royaume’ white diamond drop earrings and a statement ‘Riders of the Knight La Reine’ diamond and aquamarine cocktail ring.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

I am really hoping that the drought of glamour that has been happening on the red carpets lately will end in time for the 2019 Emmy Awards red carpet. I need drama. I need glamour. I need fashON. I feel like the mix of big names who are finishing their run on the Emmy Awards red carpet and the newbies who have me really excited to see what the future has in store is going to make this a major red carpet. Emilia Clarke will walk the Emmy Awards red carpet as an Emmy nominee for her performance in the final season of Game of Thrones. There was major push back against the final season of this series and a lot of that centered around Emilia’s character’s story line. She is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. This is a hard packed category. The nomination process resulted in it being the only category with seven nominees instead of the usual six. With this being such a tough category I am wondering if Emilia will finally pull off a win for her role in Game of Thrones or not. I would love it if that happened, but I’m unsure of the likelihood of it happening right now. I definitely want to see Emilia win the red carpet. For the look I’ve picked for her to wear for this years Emmy’s I put in a great deal of thought. It was on the Emmy Awards red carpet back in 2012 that Emilia had her first major fashON moment wearing a Versailles inspired Chanel tea length gown. It was really the first major look from Emilia and it sparked her partnership with a plethora of other luxury labels. Now it has been a real hot minute since Emilia last wore a Chanel design on the red carpet, but I would love to see her back in the label for her last Emmy’s with Game of Thrones. So to the latest couture collection I went. I don’t particularly find Virginie Viard’s creative direction for Chanel to be very inspiring, but this bordeaux Chanel Fall 2019 Couture strapless column gown which features a twist draped bodice with a sweetheart neckline is a gorgeous gown. Is it anything boundary pushing or unexpected like the Chanel gown that Emilia wore back in 2012? No, but it could be a really chic effortless glam moment for Emilia to bring to life on this red carpet. It is a classic gown that if she wins will hold its timelessness. I would finish this look with a sleek updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of black Tabitha Simmons ‘Iceley’ gold bead and crystal embellished strappy sandals, and a beautiful antique 19th century emerald drop and diamond collar necklace from Fred Leighton to just ensure that Emilia walks this red carpet with her most glamorous foot forward. Jodie Comer is also nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category at this years Emmy Awards. I think that between Emilia, her Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh, This Is Us star Mandy Moore, and House of Cards star Robin Wright that Jodie is a dark horse to take home this Emmy. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to see her put a very glamorous foot forward on this red carpet though. I want to see Jodie deliver chic, sleek, and sophisticated elegance on the Emmy Awards red carpet wearing this bold red Stella McCartney column gown which features cap-sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. I have a feeling that after a short break from the red carpet that now that LVMH has a stake in Stella McCartney that we will once again be seeing the brand pretty regularly on the red carpet. I feel like Jodie would wear this gown with a sort of effortless ease. Finish it with old Hollywood waves worn over one shoulder, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, and a bit of sparkle via Kwiat ‘Silhouette’ fancy shape and round brilliant diamond chandelier earrings and I know this look will land. Michelle Williams will be making her first Emmy Awards red carpet return since her Dawson’s Creek days and I am praying to the overlords of fashion that she does so with a wow. She is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie thanks to her performance in Fosse/Verdon and as one of the major stars with access to a major fashion house I am just hoping that her stylist Kate Young is working on something fantastic! While I have a love/hate relationship with Michelle as a Louis Vuitton ambassador, as I do with most LV ambassadors because I have a love/hate relationship with LV itself, I am hopeful that Nicholas Ghesquiere will create something amazing for her to wear on this red carpet. I imagine it will be custom so I turned to Evita and all the custom looks she created for me from the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 collection. I remember her sending me this silver Chrysler Building inspired gown which features a halter neckline, intricate silver art deco inspired embroidery, and silver beaded panels down the side. I fell in love. It was instant, but then the thought of “is this too good for LV” came into my mind. My honest answer to that question is yes. I do think it is to chic and glamorous for Louis Vuitton and I am probably setting myself (and all of you) up for disappointment with this wish, but it is just too good. I think it is a good thing Michelle isn’t really one for a lot of styling because this gown is such a dazzling show piece all on its own that I think that simplicity is the key in its styling. A sleek side parted pixie, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of silver Louis Vuitton ‘Silhouette’ metallic leather sandals, and simple vintage Cartier art deco white diamond drop earrings would perfectly compliment this gown making it one of the best red carpet moments that Michelle has had in a really long time. Patricia Clarkson won both a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Award for her performance in the HBO limited series Sharp Objects. At both award shows she wore gowns by designer Georges Chakra. When she stepped onto the red carpet at the SAG awards wearing a gown from Zuhair Murad Couture I wondered if her winning streak would be broken, and it was. So I have decided that Georges Chakra is Patty’s good luck charm and that she should wear one of his designs on the Emmys red carpet! I didn’t even need a second look at the collection to know which gown I wanted to see Patricia wear. I watched the Georges Chakra Fall 2019 Couture show on Instagram live back in July and when I saw this pearlescent grey to gold ombré gown which features a draped asymmetrical neckline, corseted waist, and a flowing skirt I knew immediately it would be a major moment for Patricia. So when her Emmy nomination was announced I knew it was a match made in heaven. Doesn’t this look like all it would need to complete a glamorous moment is an Emmy in her hands? Well maybe not just an Emmy. I would style this look with a chic vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, deep red lips, a pair of gold Stuart Weitzman ‘Paulette’ knotted metallic leather ankle strap sandals, and dazzling Amwaj ‘Fancy Intense’ yellow and white diamond drop earrings to make sure that Patricia is the epitome of glamour from head to toe. Rounding out today’s set of Emmy Wishes is Sandra Oh who I think is the frontrunner to take home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series thanks to her performance in Killing Eve. That role has won her a Golden Globe, Critics Choice, and SAG Award. I think it could only be a previous winner whose series is over could knock the Emmy out of Sandra’s hand. Now I have a hard time picking looks for Sandra as her style is really all over the place. She knows how how to deliver major glamour, but she isn’t the most consistent. For this years Emmys I decided that simplicity is best so I had Evita whip up this custom gold beaded Prada gown with a statement crystal embellished cummerbund waist. Now a look like this has to be executed perfectly. The details in the construction of the dress must be meticulous or the look would flop. The styling also has to be on point which has been a point of contention for me when it comes to Sandra’s past red carpet looks. She loves a chunky platform shoe. Personally I hate that for a red carpet, but going with her style ques I decided to pair this gown with black satin Prada ‘Plateau’ sandals trimmed in metallic gold leather piping. Finishing the look with a sleek updo, defined eyes, burgundy lips, and a pair of insanely gorgeous Nak Armstrong one of a kind milky sapphire, labradorite, rainbow moonstone, and aquamarine drop earrings. I think that if done the way I envision I believe that this could be one of Sandra’s best red carpet looks ever.

2019 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

The 2019 Emmy Awards are coming. They will go live from the Microsoft Theater in LA two weeks from yesterday! It is going to be a big night. We will be saying our final goodbyes to some shows and cast members who have been on this red carpet for years. I definitely want to see this years red carpet wow me. I have been in a drought of red carpet glamour lately. The fashion at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals has done nothing for me. I’m craving a major Best Dressed of the Year worthy moment. It has been too long since the last look I would consider a contender. I want more major moments. There was a look from the Emmy Awards on my Best Dressed of the Year list every year from 2011 to 2015. I am hoping that the stars of television are cooking up major moments for the red carpet this year. Amy Adams was seemingly robbed of both a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award earlier this year for her role in the HBO limited series Sharp Objects. The show premiered over a year ago and I am wondering if Amy really has any steam left behind to to take home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her performance in the show. I want to see Amy deliver a major moment on this red carpet. Her looks during awards season were pretty, but not the outstanding moments I know and expect her to deliver on the red carpet. For this years Emmy Awards I decided to turn back to one of Amy’s dear friends, Tom Ford, for her red carpet look. Now the new CFDA president is showing his Spring 2020 RTW collection tonight at New York Fashion Week, but I would imagine that if he was dressing Amy for the Emmy’s that he would be creating something custom for her. Now regular readers will know that I love a red head in green so when I started thinking about a custom Tom Ford for Amy that was really my only requirement. I found a green Tom Ford dress online that had these amazing velvet slim leg-o-mutton sleeves on it. I did love the sleeves, but thought that it needed a bit of sparkle so when I sent the inspiration dress to Evita to work her magic I told her I wanted the gown to be fully beaded with a single velvet sleeve. She delivered this gorgeous column gown in exactly the manner I requested and it was everything I could have imagined. I do believe that this style on Amy with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, soft rose pink lips, a pair of gold Tom Ford knot-detail crystal embellished chain sandals, and vintage art deco Cartier diamond and emerald drop earrings would be a killer fashion moment on the Emmy Awards red carpet. Billy Porter is definitely a contender to be the first man to take a place on my regular Best Dressed of the Year list after his amazing custom Christian Siriano tuxedo gown he wore for the Oscars earlier this year. He has definitely become one of my favorites to see on the red carpet. He loves fashion and isn’t afraid to take a risk with it. I would love to see his bring the “unexpected” drama to the Emmy Awards red carpet where he is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for her work on the FX series POSE. I feel like Billy is definitely ready to bring Pierpaolo Piccioli’s creative vision for Valentino to life on a red carpet. I think that he would absolutely shut down the Emmy’s red carpet with this blue and gold art nouveau pattern opera coat from the Valentino Fall 2018 Couture collection. I fell in love with this coat the moment I saw it open this show in Paris over a year ago. It hasn’t gotten a major red carpet moment to now and I feel like Billy is the perfect person to give it the daylight it deserves. I could definitely see Billy rocking the whole runway ensemble, but he also love a very tailored suit moment with his capes and trains so I personally would want to see Pierpaolo create a custom gold tuxedo for Billy to match the cape. Gwendoline Christie paid her own fees to be included in the written ballots for the 2019 Emmy nominations. HBO did not submit Gwendoline for Emmy consideration. So she took her destiny into her own hands and now she is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, a category dominated by her and her Game of Thrones co-stars. Now out of the GOT ladies nominated in this category I wouldn’t say that Gwendoline is the favorite to win in this category, but she bet on herself so I want to see her deliver on this red carpet. I know she knows how to wow. She has done so in the past wearing looks from Gucci and Iris Van Herpen on the red carpet. For the Emmy Awards I decided to go with a custom look for Gwendoline from Miu Miu. She closed the Miu Miu Cruise 2019 show last summer and has been a good friend to the brand. I would love to see Miuccia Prada create an absolutely gorgeous dramatically glamorous moment for Gwen to wear on the Emmy’s red carpet. Ahead of creating specific looks for people for Venice, TIFF, and the Emmy Awards I actually had Evita, who creates all the custom look photos for me, go through some of the Resort 2020 collections of brands we see on major red carpets all the time and just go wild with looks. As she would come up with ideas she would send me her edits and I would make adjustments as I thought of things. I cannot take credit for coming up with this deep purple custom Miu Miu Resort 2020 gown which took the short puffy sleeves and embellishments from the collection and created this uber glamorous creation. Given Gwendoline’s height and stature I definitely believe that this gown would be one of the greatest things that she has ever worn. it would flatter her figure and just ooze glamour especially if styled with a vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, black suede and silver glitter slingback peep toe Miu Miu sandals, and vintage Harry Winston cluster drop diamond earrings. Natasha Lyonne is nominated for 3 Emmy Awards this year thanks to her Netflix series Russian Doll. She is not only nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, but also as one of she shows producers for Outstanding Comedy Series and one of the shows writers for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. One of these awards is handed out at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards held before the main show so Natasha could walk this red carpet on the 22nd as an Emmy Winner already. I have to say I have been loving her style lately and I am really intrigued to see what she will wear on this red carpet this year. I had it in my head since the moment I heard her name announced that Natasha was going to be wearing Proenza Schouler for this red carpet. I loved many of the details in the Proenza Schouler Resort 2020 collection and just threw a bunch of the pieces from that collection into a folder and asked Evita to cook something up. She sent me several options, but it was this look which features a harness halter neckline and an asymmetrically cut skirt with sequined pleated stripe paneling that I fell in love with immediately. The only thing about this look is that it shows more skin that Natasha typically does on the red carpet. So I said well why not add a black Proenza Schouler novelty label wool twill blazer over her shoulders like a cape? It adds that coverage we expect from Natasha, while also infusing a bit of menswear inspiration which is another of her red carpet signatures. I would finish this look with full teased out curls, defined eyes, red lips, a black Tyler Ellis ‘Jaime’ clutch with gold hardware, a pair of Gianvito Rossi t-bar pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Nikos Koulis ‘Feelings’ collection jewels including yellow gold snake cluster earrings with white diamonds and a yellow gold cocktail ring with white diamonds to make sure this look balances edge and glamour in the perfect manner. Last up for today is Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Phoebe Waller Bridge. I can honestly say I don’t know much about Phoebe or her style, but I am sure that we are going to get to know her and it well over the coming months. It seems like she might be the leading contender to win in this category and I wanted to make sure that I had a glamorous winners moment for her to wear on this red carpet. I wanted to put the British actress in a British designer and so I turned to my favorite British label Erdem. I can always count on Erdem to bring feminine glamour to the red carpet and he knows how to deliver a custom moment on the red carpet as well. I took inspiration for this black and white gown from an ensemble from the Erdem Resort 2020 collection which featured the same bow shoulder hammered silk bodice with a a white pearl embellished bow on the hip and silk pencil skirt with crystal encrusted floral appliques. For this gown I decided the smooth black silk of the skirt was perfect for this gown loosing the peplum from the original bodice turning into a floor length column gown and adding the dramatic white side sash that drapes into a train. I actually knew just exactly what I wanted this gown to look like that I actually sketched it out (very poorly I might add) for Evita so she knew exactly what I wanted. She sent this gown and I was immediately sold on it as the perfect look for Phoebe to wear on the Emmy Awards red carpet. A sleek center parted bob tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, rich crimson red lips, a black Bottega Veneta satin chain knot minaudiere, simple black Aquazzura ‘So Nude’ slingback sandals, and a pair of art deco platinum set white diamond dangle earrings circa 1920’s I found on 1stDibs would finish this look in the most perfect manner from head to toe. Just give her the Emmy to complete this ensemble.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday September 22, 2019.

“Abominable” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Tomorrow I start my deep dive into the 2019 Emmy Awards, but before I get neck deep in all that glamour I have just two more wishes for an upcoming blockbuster movie premiere. Abominable is an animated feature coming out at the end of this month. It will screened at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday and will also be screened at the London Film Festival next month, but it is also scheduled to have a stand alone premiere in LA next weekend. Sometimes when films have multiple screenings at major film festivals the big production companies decide to forgo spending the money on their own premieres, so I am happy to hear that Abominable is getting one. Chloe Bennett has become one of my young stars to watch. She has rocked red carpets in Galia Lahav Haute Couture, off the runway Versace, dazzled in custom Vivienne Westwood, and been a darling to Prabal Gurung this year alone. I am definitely intrigued to see what she and her stylist Sonia Young are cooking up for this press tour. While we saw Chloe give a major couture gown moment in Georges Chakra Couture at the Toronto Film Festival yesterday I have decided that for the LA premiere of Abominable that I wanted to go with something with a little more edge. That is why I decided on this black and blue Giorgio Armani Fall 2019 RTW ensemble which features a strapless tube top, a pair of cropped high waisted pants with peplum pleated pockets, and a water print belt with a pleated peplum. This look is edgy yet glamorous and definitely worthy of the star of a big animated feature to wear for a premiere. I think that Chloe would infuse some sex appeal into this look. I would finish the look with a sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Theodorella’ leather and mesh pointed toe strappy pumps, and a selection of Nikos Koulis ‘Jewel’ collection jewels with a pair of white gold cluster earrings with tanzanites, white diamonds and black enamel and a matching snake style ring. It would definitely make this a major style moment for Chloe. Sarah Paulson also attended the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Abominable yesterday. In stark contrast to the major couture moment that Chloe brought to the mid-day red carpet Sarah wore a much simpler Batsheva below the knee length dress for the red carpet. Ironically I had already picked this silver Georges Chakra Fall 2019 Couture cocktail dress which features a crop top with a high neck and short sleeves, a sheer panel at the waist, high waisted sequin miniskirt with a long pleated tulle hem for Sarah to wear for the LA premiere of the film before I ever saw Chloe in a gown from the same collection. I had originally gone into this collection looking for a dress for Chloe to wear for this premiere, but when I saw this silver dress I immediately thought it would be the perfect moment for Sarah to wear on this red carpet. It is classic but modern and edgy yet glamorous. I think that this exactly what we expect when Sarah steps onto a red carpet. Finishing this look with a sleek bob, defined eyes, red lips, a silver Judith Leiber Couture ‘Soho Elaphe’ leather clutch with a jeweled clasp, a pair of silver Roger Vivier ‘Viv’ metallic leather strappy sandals, and chic mid-century white diamond fan earrings from Beladora would definitely make this the perfect look for Sarah to bring to life on this red carpet.

The LA Premiere of Abominable is expected to take place on Saturday September 14, 2019.
