“Ford vs. Ferrari” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

To be honest Ford Vs. Ferrari looks like a good movie, just not one that will speak to me all that much. I mean I still want to see it, but I may wait until it hits DVD and rent it from Redbox. I was honestly really excited for this promo tour heading into fall festival season, but Caitriona Balfe (the only red carpet heavy hitter in the film) has honestly let me down. When she started working with Karla Welch I was like this is going to be good, but the two just haven’t vibed for me. I honestly don’t know who in the world of Hollywood styling would be able to stop Caitriona from being her own worst enemy. Caitriona has the potential to really deliver major wow moments. I find her to be incredibly beautiful and her height allows for her to wear just about anything. Lately she has been wearing these terrible fit sack gowns. I want to see a more sexy and glamorous side of her when she steps out for the LA premiere of Ford vs. Ferrari on Monday November 4, 2019. I went through a few looks from cocktail Prada to dark Dior Haute Couture, but it was ultimately this blood red Ralph Lauren Fall 2019 RTW long sleeve liquid sequin gown which features a knot draped waist and a daring plunging neckline that really spoke to me. This gown is femme fatale glamour defined and I think it is exactly what Caitriona needs to deliver an absolutely major moment on this red carpet. I would keep the old Hollywood screen siren vibe going with a sleek side parted updo, winged smokey eyes red lips, a pair of red crystal embellished suede Jimmy Choo ‘Talaya’ ankle strap d’Orsay sandals, and vintage Cartier art deco white diamond drop earrings to ensure that this look screams nothing but glamour from head to toe.

The LA premiere of Ford vs. Ferrari is expected to take place on Monday November 4, 2019.

“Terminator: Dark Fate” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

There are lots of blockbuster movie premieres coming up. We are back with another, yes ANOTHER, movie in the Terminator franchise. I  have to admit that when I heard about Terminator: Dark Fate I rolled my eyes. I just don’t know why we can’t just leave well enough alone. Why do we have to keep messing with series’? I crave new stories being told. We get thousands of new books every year that can be the starting point of a new movie franchise. I have personally read several I would love to see turned into movies this year alone, why not cultivate something new? You don’t have to tell me. I already know the answer. It just bothers me. All that being said I am intrigued at what will happen on the red carpet at the films premiere in LA on Monday. The cast has been making the rounds internationally promoting the film and while no one has delivered a real WOW moment on a red carpet yet there have been several intriguing choices. I am hoping that when the tour takes them to the big premiere in LA that we see some uber chic moments on the red carpet. Mackenzie Davis has been one I have kept my eyes on for a while now. She works with power stylist Karla Welch and knowing that Karla loves to create a moment and I would imagine that she is cooking up a dramatic moment for Mackenzie to wear on the red carpet at the LA premiere of Terminator: Dark Fate. We have already seen Mackenzie grab a coveted gown right off the Spring 2020 runways when she wore a fringed Jil Sander gown for the Mexico City premiere of this film (I’m still a little salty I never got to use that gown in a wish list before it was worn) so I decided to go for a big moment picking this hot off the runway black Valentino Spring 2020 RTW gathered neckline cotton blend maxi gown which features a relaxed fit, plunging v-neckline, long sleeves, and a gathered ruffle neckline. I honestly didn’t have to do a whole lot of searching for something for Mackenzie to wear on this red carpet. Knowing how much Karla adores Valentino (don’t we all) I went right to the brand and as soon as I saw this strong gown I believed I had found the perfect moment for Mackenzie to deliver on this red carpet. As someone who usually advocates for color and pattern I definitely believe that this gown is PERFECT for a star of a major blockbuster to wear on this red carpet and still be able to make her presence known. A sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips,  a pair of black suede Gianvito Rossi ‘Poppy’ strappy platform sandals, and a very chic 18k gold and diamond grooved panel vintage Van Cleef & Arpels collar necklace from Beladora would all add the perfect finishing touches to this look making this that super major moment for Mackenzie to deliver on this red carpet. Natalia Reyes is a new face for me. I had never heard of her prior to the promo tour for Terminator: Dark Fate. That being said she is working with Hollywood power stylist Micaela Erlanger who has put her in looks from Alexander Wang and Longchamp on the tour trail so far. Now all of Natalia’s looks during this tour so far have been more on the casual side for photocalls, so I am really interested in seeing what Micaela will wear on the red carpet for a big gala movie premiere. So for the LA premiere of Terminator: Dark Fate I decided to go for glamour with this deep petrol blue Marchesa Spring 2020 RTW one shoulder draped satin gown which features a tea length, column silhouette, one-shoulder ruffled embellishment, and threadwork and crystal embroidery over a sheer panel down the back. We have been, very slowly, seeing stylist starting to put their clients back in Marchesa on the red carpet. I feel like we are well past how the Harvey Weinstein scandal should be affecting his estranged wife Georgina Chapman and her business. Not knowing much about Natalia’s style aside from the two casual looks I went on a search for a gown that I just think would be a beautiful moment on her. I want to see her repertoire of designers expand and I definitely believe that Natalia would deliver this gown on this red carpet especially if styled with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, soft pink lips, a black crystal embellished Marchesa clutch, black patent leather and suede Jimmy Choo ‘Katie’ strappy crystal and bow embellished sandals, and a pair of dazzling Anabela Chan x Diamond Foundry ‘Orchid’ white diamond floral drop earrings.

The LA premiere of Terminator: Dark Fate is expected to take place on Monday October 28, 2019.

2019 Academy Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Governor’s Awards Red Carpet Wish List

This Sunday night the race to the Oscars will officially kick off. We will get a preview of all the stars we can expect to see on all of the awards season red carpets as they fete the honorees at the 2019 Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Governor’s Awards. This red carpet is always fun to watch. I can recall some really amazing moments coming off this red carpet over the past several years. Right off the bat I think of Marion Cotillard in a red tiered Dior Couture by Raf Simons gown and Emily Blunt wearing hot pink custom Michael Kors with a floral bodice. I do not have a guest list for this red carpet. Instead I picked the stars for this wish list based on who has Oscar buzz around a project that they are promoting in addition to whom I love. The only person in the images below we can count on seeing on this red carpet on Sunday night is Academy Board of Governor’s member Laura Dern, and wouldn’t she shut the red carpet down wearing that Tom Ford ensemble? I am definitely not ready to say I have picked my Best Dressed of the Year list just yet, especially when several large scale events are still slated to happen, but I believe that we could see some disruption in the list I feel like is pretty solid after this red carpet.

The 2019 Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Governor’s Awards will take place on Sunday October 27, 2019.

2019 BAFTA Britannia Awards Red Carpet Wish List

It has literally been a month since my last post and for that I am sorry. As usual my work and personal lives have gotten in the way with me bringing you my regular content. Well with awards season drawing nearer and the winter blockbusters gearing up for their releases I am going to try and get back on track and focused. I have been missing inspiration that I had going into the fall festival season. I was so excited but stars just didn’t show up like I was expecting them to. So this Friday will be the final BAFTA event of the year with the 2019 BAFTA Britannia Awards. This smaller awards show is definitely one that can turn out some uber chic looks and I am interested in seeing what the stars who are confirmed to walk this red carpet are cooking up with their stylists. Jane Fonda will be honored at this years BAFTA LA Britannia Awards with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. The Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film is presented to legendary individuals whose work is stamped with the indelible mark of authorship and ingenuity. Recipients of the honor have made a unique, enduring impact on the art forms of the moving image. “Fonda is and always has been an unstoppable force on stage, on screen and behind the camera. The legendary actress’s illustrious career has spanned decades and awarded her with numerous accolades for the dozens of characters she has so brilliantly portrayed,” said BAFTA Los Angeles Chair of the Board, Kathryn Busby. I couldn’t agree more. Jane is definitely one of my favorite actresses and even more so one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet. Lately I will say that Jane has been dressing a little bit older. I have always loved that no matter how old Jane actually is that she still embodies sexy glamour. I decided that despite that fact that I really want to see Jane deliver a lot of sexy glamour in this steel grey sequin Roland Mouret Spring 2020 RTW one sleeved gown which features origami folded draping, an asymmetrical construction, sheath silhouette, and a split up the center. This is definitely more evocative of the Jane that I have always loved and it would be perfect for her to deliver that on the red carpet at the Britannia Awards on Friday night. Her signature hairstyle, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of grey glitter Aquazzura ‘Forever’ pointed toe pumps, and chic white diamond Chopard Red Carpet Collection chandelier earrings would all make sure this is a super dazzling moment for Jane to deliver on this red carpet. After partaking in the live action television special presentation of an episode of The Jefferson’s Kerry Washington will be on hand to present television icon Norman Lear with the Britannia Award for Excellence in Television. I have long been a fan of Kerry and her sense of style. I had questioned some of her choices earlier this year, but lately she has been giving us major looks and I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet at the Britannia Awards this Friday. I fell in love with this white silk charmuse Jason Wu Spring 2020 RTW midi gown which features an intricate feather embellished bodice the moment I saw it and I definitely think that Kerry could make this look come to life on a red carpet especially if styled with a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a black satin Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ crystal embellished clutch, simple white leather Jimmy Choo ‘Dochas’ crystal trimmed ankle strap sandals, and pair of chic yet simple white diamond and emerald David Morris pendant drop earrings. Lupita Nyong’o will also honor the fearless leader of a project she was part of this year when she presents Jordan Peele with the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing. Like Kerry I have been a fan of Lupita’s style from the beginning, but in the last year I have been questioning her choices a lot. I am ready for her to regain her red carpet footing and that is exactly what I am imagining will be the case if she were to step onto this red carpet Friday night wearing this amazing green, blue, and grey Haider Ackermann Spring 2020 RTW gown which features a slim fit, A-line silhouette, cutout detail at midsection, an asymmetrically draped bodice, and a cold-shoulder detail. We have never seen Lupita wear Haider on a red carpet before, but I feel like this gown would be an absolutely edgy glam moment for her to bring to life on this red carpet. To make this gown perfect I would style it with a chic updo, smokey eyes with blue eyeliner, dark berry red lips, a pair of dark green Gianvito Rossi ‘Belvedere’ lamé-coated calfskin sandals with a pleated fan heel, and vintage Bulgari sapphire, emerald, and diamond earclips set in 18k gold. After an incredible triumph at the 2019 Emmy Awards about a month ago Fleabag star and creator Phoebe Waller Bridge will be honored with Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year. It is not shocking in the least to see that Phoebe has been given this honor. She turned a hope project into a major Emmy Winner sweeping almost every category it was nominated in. Now in terms of fashion Phoebe isn’t my favorite. She has potential. She just needs to get the right team behind her. Personally I would think that Phoebe working with either Erin Walsh or Cher Coulter as a stylist could reap some serious benefits. Now if I were the one dressing her I would love to see her show up on this red carpet wearing this lime green Valentino Spring 2020 RTW asymmetrical midi gown which features a relaxed fit, A-line silhouette, and a single caped sleeve. This is definitely a much bolder look than we are used to seeing from Phoebe on the red carpet, but I feel like this is a moment that would put her on the track to red carpet stardom. Finishing the look with a romantic side swoop curly bob, defined eyes, punchy pink lips, a pair of champagne Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ crystal embellished nude mesh pumps with a glitter covered heel, and chic Cartier High Jewelry diamond and peridot earcrawler earrings would definitely ensure that Phoebe makes a splash on the Britannia Awards red carpet this Friday night!

The 2019 BAFTA LA Britannia Awards will take place on Friday October 25, 2019.
