2019 British Fashion Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

The glamour of the British Fashion Awards is just a couple of days away! As the days get closer and closer I get more and more excited to see what everyone will bring to the red carpet. As I mentioned yesterday I really don’t have much of an idea of who will be on this red carpet yet, but that isn’t going to stop me from making wishes. Today’s wishes feature a couple of Model of the Year nominees and a couple of ladies whom are usually on the Fashion Awards red carpet. Adut Akech is definitely one of my favorite models of the moment. She is fierce af and knows how to command a runway. Now I just want her to bring that same presence and fierceness on the red carpet. She is nominated for Model of the Year and I am hoping to see her bring the WOW to this red carpet. I turned to another Fashion Award nominee to the, almost, perfect look for Adut to bring to life on this red carpet. John Galliano, for Maison Margiela, is nominated for British Designer of the Year – Womenswear and I think that Adut could definitely rock one of his major looks on this red carpet. I turned to this black and white ensemble from the Maison Margiela Fall 2019 Couture collection which features an origami draped halter crop top bodice and a high waisted folded skirt. On its own the look is definitely chic enough for a red carpet moment, but for the fashion awards I would love to see John customize this look for Adut to have a floor length skirt. Now with that customized skirt I would love to see Adut style this look with defined eyes, dark red glossy lips, a pair of black satin Prada red lightning strike sculptural heel round toe pumps, and vintage 1930’s Cartier white diamond and ruby floral earclips. I feel like this could be that major fashion moment I am waiting for Adut to deliver on the red carpet. Kaia Gerber is also nominated for Model of the Year. The offspring of the iconic Cindy Crawford has been everywhere this year and has rocked some of the biggest looks on the runways for Valentino and Givenchy this year. I am definitely excited to see her move forward as a model and take her career into a major manner. For the British Fashion Awards I went to a go to designer for Kaia, Versace. This blush Atelier Versace Fall 2019 Couture mermaid gown which features a plunging neckline, an intricately beaded bodice, and a flared tulle hem is chic and elegant. It would definitely be a glamorous statement for Kaia to bring to life on the Fashion Awards red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of gold strappy Giuseppe Zanotti metallic leather sandals, and dazzling Messika Paris High Jewelry ‘Firebird’ white diamond cluster earrings would definitely turn this look into an amazing moment for Kara. Given the fact that Naomie Harris will soon be gearing up for the next Bond film promo tour I decided that I wanted to see her start keeping up appearances at the 2019 British Fashion Awards. I decided that Naomie would be one of the few people who could tell this tomato red Erdem Spring 2020 RTW suit which features a loose fit with a sari style draped detail would be a real statement moment for her to bring to life on the Fashion Awards red carpet. Now Erdem isn’t one of the nominated designers at this years awards, but what major British fashion awards red carpet would be complete without one of the brightest talents in British fashion. This suit is definitely not going to be east to make work, but I think that Naomie has the presence to bring the look to life. Now that being said I would ditch the white button down shirt that the suit was paired with on the runway in favor of going topless under the jacket. To really bring this look together I would style it with tight braids, defined eyes, berry rose Charlotte Tilbury “Walk of Shame” matte revolution lips, a silver crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, a pair of white satin Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ crystal tiara embellished pointed toe pumps, and Atelier Swarovski white topaz and lab created diamond ‘Luna’ cluster earrings. The last two years for the British Fashion Awards British socialite Poppy Delevingne decided to forego wearing a British label on the red carpet instead opting for looks from major labels like Prada and Giambattista Valli Couture. I decided that for this years red carpet I would love to see Poppy deliver a major British look for the Fashion Awards with this blue thistle inspired Alexander McQueen Spring 2020 RTW cocktail dress. I do love this look and I definitely think we will see it on this red carpet. It isn’t the look we are typically used to seeing Poppy wearing on the red carpet, but as I was going through options this look really just stuck out to me. I definitely believe that would be a major moment for her to bring to life especially if styled with a sleek updo, soft defined eyes, soft pink lips, a ballroom blue satin Alexander McQueen ‘Butterfly’ crystal clasp box clutch, a pair of statement silver Gianvito Rossi ‘Jasmine’ crystal fringe embellished sandals, and statement white diamond Boucheron ‘Feuilles D’Acanthe’ feather earrings. Finishing out today is the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The British model has been a huge supporter of the new Bottega Veneta creative director Daniel Lee. She has worn several looks by the brand off the red carpet. Personally I am not a fan of Daniel’s work for Bottega Veneta. I find it all looking very cheap and all too inspired by other designers. That being said the British Fashion Council must not see it that way because he is nominated for several British Fashion Awards including Accessories Designer of the Year, Brand of the Year, British Designer of the Year – Womenswear, and Designer of the Year. So with that being said it wouldn’t surprise me to see Rosie wearing one of his creations on this red carpet. Now since taking the helm of Bottega Veneta Daniel hasn’t sent a gown down the runway. I would suspect that if he dresses Rosie that she would want a gown. So I turned to this simple orange sleeveless open back halter dress from the Bottega Veneta Spring 2020 RTW collection which I would love to see lengthened into a floor length gown with a dramatic train. I think that when modified that this gown would boast chic, simplistic, and sensual glamour and that is exactly what Rosie knows how to deliver on the red carpet with effortless ease. With a simple style gown like this the styling has to be 100% on point to be a perfect red carpet moment. So I would want to see Rosie style this gown with a sleek braided bun updo, defined eyes, burnt orange lips, a gold Bottega Veneta ‘Intrecciato Knot’ woven box clutch, a pair of simple gold metallic leather Aquazzura ‘Purist’ sandals, and statement white and yellow diamond David Morris chandelier earrings to really make this look the uber wow moment I know it can be.

2019 British Fashion Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

The British Fashion Awards are coming next Monday and I am really excited to see what this red carpet will bring. That being said I do not have any ideas about who will be attending as presenters have not yet been released. Instead to come up with these wishes I went through all of the designers nominated in addition to British labels who are staples on the red carpet that didn’t receive a nomination this year. So over the next couple of days I am basically just fantasizing about the looks and the stars I want to see on this red carpet. I would say the likelihood that Cate Blanchett will be on the Fashion Awards red carpet next Monday is incredibly high. Both the red carpet queen’s hairstylist Sam McKnight and her go to designer Giorgio Armani are being honored at this years awards and so I imagine that Cate will be on hand to honor one and celebrate the achievement of the other. If I had to guess Cate will be the one to present Mr. Armani with the Outstanding Achievement honor. Mr Armani will be awarded for his outstanding contribution to the global fashion industry, his creativity and vision of timeless style and care for detail, that have provided such inspiration to so many in the industry. Cate has been a stalwart supporter of Armani becoming the face of the labels fragrance “Si.” So when I was thinking about the perfect look I would want to see Cate bring to life on this red carpet I knew that an uber chic Armani Prive moment was the only choice. I adore this black velvet Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture suit which features a cropped blazer and a Swarovski crystal embellished bodice. This look is strong, sexy, and glamorous which is exactly the vibe that Cate delivers when she steps onto a red carpet wearing an Armani Prive design. A 40’s inspired updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Galativi Strass’ crystal embellished mesh and velvet pointed toe pumps, and dazzling Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019 white diamond and emerald floral drop earrings would ensure that Cate delivers nothing but glamour from head to toe. British born Charlie’s Angel Ella Balinska has really emerged as a fashionista through her breakout blockbuster role in the latest installment of the spy franchise. I honestly would be SHOCKED if we don’t see Ella on the red carpet at the 2019 British Fashion Awards next Monday. As I was going through looks I wanted to see on this red carpet I decided that this Loewe Spring 2020 RTW ensemble which features a black sleeveless lace tunic with white piping and a matching lace pannier maxi skirt with a handkerchief hem. Loewe creative director is Irish born Jonathan Anderson who is nominated for Accessories Designer of the Year, British Designer of the Year – Womenswear, Designer of the Year, and the Designers’ Designer Award. He is the only designer that spans all these categories and I hope we see his work for both Loewe and his eponymous label JW Anderson on the red carpet at the Fashion Awards. I believe that Ella with her modelesque stature would be one of the few who could take this look with its purposefully wide hips and make it work on the red carpet especially if styled with a sleek braided high bun, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of black and grey glitter Sophia Webster ‘Freya’ strappy platform sandals, and chic white gold set Anita Ko ‘Ava’ white round and baguette cut diamond wreath earrings. British model Jourdan Dunn is a staple on the red carpet at the British Fashion Awards and I am hoping that she will deliver something super statement making when she makes a turn this year. Instead of going to one of the nominated labels for Jourdan I instead decided to go to British based couture label Ralph & Russo. I have been longing to see this pale pink silk double satin asymmetrically draped Ralph & Russo Fall 2019 Couture one shoulder gown featuring contrasting raspberry paneling and structured pleats, hand embroidered with rosewater opal stones and ruby red crystals in a scattered ombré design, and a daring thigh high split on a red carpet since it first came down the runway back in July and when I was thinking of the perfect person to wear it for the Fashion Awards Jourdan was the first person I thought of. She has the attitude to really just ooze glamour and sensuality wearing this gown on the red carpet. A sleek updo, smokey eyes, nude glossy lips, a red satin Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch with a crystal embellished bow clasp, red strappy Jimmy Choo ‘Mimi’ sandals, and a pair of dazzling David Morris ruby and white diamond feather drop earrings would ensure that Jourdan delivers glamour from head to toe. The moment I saw this light pink silk Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring 2020 RTW jacket dress I wanted to see it on Kendall Jenner. Now to be honest I don’t often think about Kendall when I am looking at runway looks and even rarer do I think the is the perfect person to wear a look on the red carpet. So I decided that Kendall should rock this look on the Fashion Awards red carpet. This red carpet can deliver all different styles of looks from major couture ballgowns to short mini dresses to more streetwear inspired moments and this Vivienne Westwood look combines the latter two perfectly. Now to make this look ready for a major red carpet I would love to see Kendall style this look with a sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of gold metallic leather Aquazzura ‘Boreal’ to-the-knee iridescent crocodile-embossed boots, and a statement 18 carat yellow gold set Messika Paris High Jewelry ‘Sun Tribe’ white diamond collar necklace. Naomi Campbell will be recognized for her incredible contribution to the fashion industry, her world-renowned career as a supermodel, as well as her philanthropist work with charities and incredible efforts for a more diverse and equal future, especially in Africa with the 2019 Fashion Icon Award which is one of the Special Recognition Awards that celebrate outstanding contributions to the fashion industry. Naomi is forever an icon, but that being said she isn’t always one of my favorites to see on the red carpet. I would imagine that Naomi will turn to her friend Riccardo Tisci and his designer for British legacy fashion house Burberry for the perfect look for her to deliver on the Fashion Awards red carpet. I went to this white Burberry Spring 2020 RTW sleeveless column gown which features a crystal embellished mesh overlay over a slip style gown, and a dramatic feathered train because I really do feel like this is an absolutely beautiful moment for Naomi to bring to life on this red carpet. Now that being said I would love to see Riccardo modify this gown just a little bit to add even more of a dramatic train to really make this a true WOW moment. Now I would love to see Naomi wear her hair up, but I would imagine that she would style her hair into sleek center parted locks. Smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of white satin Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ ankle strap sandals with a crystal embellished buckle, and white diamond de Grisogono ‘Shimmering Lady Feeling’ starburst cluster drop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

The 2019 British Fashion Awards will take place on Monday December 2, 2019.

2019 British Fashion Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

The 2019 British Fashion Awards are coming. This red carpet is always a highlight of December and this year it kicks off the month on the first Monday. The event will be hosted this year by Tracee Ellis Ross. The comedienne is a fashionista in her own right. She has given us many mahjor fashON moments this year and I am praying to the British fashion gods that she and stylist Karla Welch once again deliver magic at the 2019 British Fashion Awards. Now this is not Tracee’s first hosting gig. She was the host of the 2018 American Music Awards and that definitely sets my expectations for her wardrobe at the 2019 British Fashion Awards super high. I’ve picked several looks for Tracee to wear over the course of the evening at the 2019 British Fashion Awards. Though like recent hostess wishes I have decided that I would try a new format instead of breaking down each of the nine looks I want to see Tracee bring to life. Instead I will break down the full styling of the gown I want to see her wear on the red carpet, and then below are the eight looks I want to see Tracee wear on the stage while hosting the 2019 British Fashion Awards. Below are major British labels like Alexander McQueen, Ralph & Russo, and Stella McCartney, British Fashion Award nominees Simone Rocha, Christopher Kane, Richard Kane, and JW Anderson, and I threw in a real statement gown from Balenciaga for good measure. But before you look through all of those I have a statement moment for Tracee to deliver on the red carpet with this multi tone blue Mary Katrantzou Spring 2020 RTW feathered ball gown which features an off the shoulder portrait neckline. I still don’t understand the nominating committee for the British Fashion Awards. This is the second year in a row that I feel like they have robbed Mary Katrantzou of a fashion award nomination. I am just glad that the lack of recognition doesn’t seem to slow Mary down. She had the most major year of her career and I am dying to see pretty much every look from this collection on the red carpet. I feel like this blue gown is perfect for Tracee as it brings drama to the red carpet and that is exactly what I am expecting to see from Tracee as she walks this red carpet. A fantastic curly updo, defined eyes, dark red lips, a royal blue Judith Leiber Couture crocodile faceted box clutch with a jeweled clasp, ombre blue Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Mia’ patent leather slingback pumps with a pearl detail heel, and a selection of dazzling David Morris Jeweler jewels including a statement sapphire, white and pink diamond collar necklace and matching drop earrings would definitely ensure that Tracee is ready to kick off her hosting gig in high style. Now don’t forget to see the rest of the looks I want to see Tracee bring to life at the 2019 British Fashion Awards below.

2019 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

This is going to be a new normal format for my wish lists here on If I Was A Stylist. This year I have wanted to make sure that I cover absolutely everyone who is confirmed to attend, support a person confirmed to attend, or could possibly attend an event with a wish. It had become a little overwhelming. So in the sake of my mental health and for my ability to balance my work life, personal life, and blog life I decided that at the end of my written wishes that I would add a post that would be a round up of all those that I just wasn’t inspired enough to write a whole wish or style a look for or those that I just didn’t have the time to do those things for. That doesn’t mean I am not still looking forward to seeing what they will bring to the red carpet. If they make a wish list they are definitely someone I am going to be keeping an eye out for. Everyone of the people in this list is confirmed to attend as either a performer or presenter and each of the looks I’ve picked for them to bring to life on this red carpet would make for superb and major moments. Who are you looking forward to seeing at the 2019 American Music Awards tomorrow night?

The 2019 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday November 24, 2019.

2019 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

We are getting close to the 2019 American Music Awards. The red carpet will take place in just over 24 hours and I am sure that stars and stylists are running around doing their last minute prepping. I have always loved watching this red carpet because it overall less formal than the Grammy Awards, but also a little more formal than the MTV Video Music Awards. So I am really excited to see what everyone will bring to the red carpet. Below are five more wishes for stars who are confirmed (minus Lady Gaga) to attend the AMA’s tomorrow night that I think could all make for some mahjor fashON moments for this red carpet.Chadwick Boseman will be one of the many presenters at the 2019 American Music Awards and he is definitely one of the men I am most looking forward to seeing on this red carpet tomorrow night. For a while now Chadwick has always been someone who takes fashion risks and steps out of your typical box of how men are expected to dress on the red carpet. So for tomorrow nights red carpet I decided to go to this steel grey satin Dior Man Spring 2020 Menswear suit which features an asymmetrical double breasted blazer which features a stone grey half shawl lapel into a panel down the inside of the front flap, a single button, and a half notch lapel and a pair of matching pants. This look pushes the standard suit into something interesting and I feel that is exactly the kind of look that Chadwick likes to bring to the red carpet. Now I did go back and forth of whether or not this suit was too formal for a movie star to wear for a music awards. Chadwick could very easily rock jeans and a biker jacket, another of his favored red carpet looks, but I feel like go for the glam or go home. Finishing this look with the grey t-shirt the look was paired with on the runway and a pair of black logomania Dior Man “B23” low top Dior Oblique sneakers would definitely make this look ready for the AMA’s red carpet. Christina Aguilera will debuting her second collaboration with A Great Big World with a performance at the 2019 American Music Awards tomorrow night. The two are most known for their hit song “Say Something” from a couple of years ago. I was a huge fan of the hauntingly beautiful song then and I am really excited to see what their new single will be. Now I am hoping that the super fashON Christina that we saw front row at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Fall 2019 shows like Jean Paul Gaultier and Viktor & Rolf back in July on this red carpet. That being said I didn’t find anything from those runways that I think would be right for Christina, but I still wanted to see her wearing a major label so I found this salmon pink Gucci crystal embellished evening gown which a deep V neck, beaded embroidery, floral appliqués, long sleeves, and feather trimmed cuffs on the virtual racks of FarFetch and was really drawn to it. I think that this super extra gown hearkened back the days when Christina was a femme fatale diva giving us 30s and 40s inspired glamour on just about every red carpet. This look I do believe would be something super unexpected and fashON for Christina to deliver on this red carpet. I would go full glamour with the look adding 1930’s inspired Veronica Lake waves, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Maia Labella’ gold crystal embellished mesh and metallic leather strappy pointed toe pumps, and statement David Webb fluted coral, cabochon emeralds, brilliant-cut diamonds, and 18K gold chandelier earrings to really ensure that Christina shows up on the AMA’s red carpet serving major looks. With her movie Knives Out coming out for a Thanksgiving weekend opening it does not surprise me that Katherine Langford will be one of the many presenters at the 2019 American Music Awards this weekend. I am intrigued to see what she will bring to this red carpet. Sometimes I feel like Katherine comes right up to the line of really dazzling me and then always leaves me wanting more. To be honest I don’t expect her to give a super major moment on this red carpet because as an actress on the music red carpet I think she will go for something more classic and simplistic. That is why I turned into this black Lanvin Spring 2020 RTW strapless slit wool-silk blend midi dress which features a fold over neckline, a tapered fit, an asymmetrical leg slit, an an asymmetrical hemline. This look is beautiful, simple, and glamorous which is exactly what I think Katherine should be delivering on this red carpet. The look would be elevated just enough by adding a sleek bun updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a black velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch embellished with white and emerald crystals, a pair of black suede Jimmy Choo ‘Belissa’ feather embellished strappy sandals, and a pair of Nikos Koulis ‘Oui’ collection white gold art deco inspired pendant drop earrings earrings with emeralds, white diamonds, and black enamel. Lady Gaga is not confirmed to perform, present, or attend the 2019 American Music Awards, but since she is nominated for two AMA’s I would still LOVE to see one of my red carpet queens on the red carpet. We haven’t really seen Gaga on a red carpet since her hosting gig at the 2019 Met Gala back in May. I don’t blame her for taking some time off after she did the dog and pony show all awards season long, which ultimately ended up with her walking home with an Academy Award. Now for the AMA’s I decided to go for a super bold look for Gaga, but one that by her standards is quite simple, with this hot pink Tom Ford Spring 2020 RTW ensemble which features a molded enamel sleeveless asymmetrical high neck crop top and a matching silk paper bag waist maxi skirt. This look mixes that 90’s minimalism vibe we have been seeing on the runways a lot recently with this almost Jetson like futuristic vibe that really makes this a stand out look. Now while I would love to see Gaga walk the red carpet something tells me that if she does attend the AMA’s tomorrow night that she will sneak in a side door and just be photographed in the audience or on the stage if she wins. I think that this look works either way. I would style the look with a dramatic sleek high side parted bouffant updo, smokey eyes, matching pink lips, a pair of matching hot pink Aquazzura ‘Coquette’ platform velvet and satin sandals, and a selection of dazzling Tiffany & Co. ‘Blue Book’ collection jewels including a pair of white diamond and pink rubellite art deco drop earrings and a matching cuff to ensure that Gaga gives us everything we are hoping for from her. Finishing out this list is Maya Hawke who has had a major breakout year. I am really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet at the American Music Awards tomorrow night where she will be acting as a presenter. Maya has this bohemian glam sense of style and I really wanted to make sure that the look I picked for her would fit that aesthetic perfectly. Enter this black and navy Alberta Ferretti Spring 2020 RTW ensemble which features a silk habotai jewel neck caped crop with an embellished neckline and a pair of paillette embellished tulle high waisted flared trousers. This look is dark and glamorous but still light and bohemian and that is exactly what I want to see from Maya on the American Music Awards red carpet. I loved this look the moment I saw it back in September and my love continues. I definitely want to see this look rocked on a red carpet and Maya is the perfect person to bring the look to life especially if paired with a sleek center parted bob, defined eyes, nude lips, black Roger Vivier ‘Mini Star’ crystal embellished suede platform sandals, and a selection of simple yet dazzling Anita Ko jewels including a pair of white diamond ‘Huggies’ with 3 round diamond drops, a white diamond ‘coil’ pinky ring, a white diamond ‘Duchess’ eternity ring, a white diamond and sapphire ‘Mesh’ saddle ring.

The 2019 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday November 24, 2019.

2019 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

I am actually really excited for the 2019 American Music Awards red carpet this weekend. I have been fighting for inspiration to continue blogging lately. Which I think is made obvious by the fact that I have been super sparse in my posting over the last several weeks and months. I think that all the awards nominations coming out have revived my heart for blogging and I just want to see everyone on the American Music Awards red carpet come to slay and really show me why I love doing this thing. Billy Porter has been a major source of inspiration this year with his major gender non-conforming looks from Christian Siriano, The Blonds, Thom Browne, and more on the red carpets this year. The POSE star is one of the many confirmed to present at the AMA’s this weekend and when I saw his name on the list I was really excited. I am just praying to the goddesses of fashion that Billy brings his a-game. I would LOVE to see Billy deliver a major couture moment on this red carpet wearing this black silk Elie Saab Fall 2019 Couture suit which features a mandarin collar, leg-o-mutton sleeves, an obi style belt, and a train. While I would definitely not pick this look as a typical menswear moment I don’t ever expect Billy to bring the typical to the red carpet. This couture moment could be really cool especially if paired with thick black framed glasses and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘The Joker’ supple black lambskin and tonal veau velour ankle chelsea boots with a slight heel. Constance Wu could very well be making another awards season run to support her movie Hustlers in 2020 and I am hoping that we see her really bring her a-game to the red carpet. She will be another of the many presenters at this years American Music Awards and I decided to go for a super sexy and glamorous moment with this creamsicle coral Atelier Versace Fall 2019 Couture mini dress which features sheer lace and crystal embellished draped panels. I fell like this color on Constance would be a real WOW moment. A sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a gold snakeskin Judith Leiber Couture ‘Soho’ crystal embellished clasp faceted clutch, a pair of gold Versace metallic snakeskin platform ankle strap sandals, and a selection of Fernando Jorge ‘Brilliant’ collection jewels including a pair of ‘Clarity’ 18k yellow gold and diamond sunburst drop earrings and a matching ‘Radiant’ cocktail ring would definitely ensure that Constance is on top of her game on this red carpet. Kelsea Ballerini is nominated this weekend for Favorite Female Artist – Country and she will also be one of the many presenters so I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpet. There was a time when Kelsea was being dressed by the likes of Zac Posen, Michael Kors, and Monique Lhuillier when I thought that she was going to be a real fashion contender in the category of Country Music ladies on the red carpet, but something seems to have taken a turn for the typical country music lady tack. I want to see Kelsea buck the tacky and typical for the red carpet at the 2019 American Music Awards on Sunday night. I would LOVE to see her give this major hot pink satin Marchesa Spring 2020 RTW strapless column gown which features a slim fit, column silhouette, strapless, sculpted origami rosette bodice, and peplum waist a turn on the red carpet. I think that she would be perfect to bring this look to the red carpet as it is super youthful and fun, but still a super glamorous moment for a nominated starlet. I would add a matching hot pink satin Giambattista Valli ‘Starburst’ box clutch, a sleek low bun, glossy nude pink lips, a pair of hot pink suede Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Neyla’ ankle strap sandals, and Kwiat ‘Starry Night’ white diamond chandelier earrings to really make this a superb moment for Kelsea to bring to life on this red carpet. Regina King has had a phenomenal year both with regards to her fashion and to her career. I have been loving seeing Mrs. King really become a red carpet queen over the last year or so and I am excited to see what more the future has in store for her. I decided that a gown just wasn’t the vibe I am expecting to see Regina deliver on this red carpet on Sunday night so I went on a search for something a little more relaxed that still brings the fashion factor. Enter this emerald green Sies Marjan Spring 2020 RTW ensemble which features a draped ‘Amira’ satin camisole top paired with a pleated coated-jersey ‘Amalia’ midi skirt. This look spoke to me the moment I saw it. It went right to the feeling I am expecting to see Regina bring to this red carpet on Sunday night. It is the right laid back style moment that would be elevated to the perfect level of glam by adding an intricate braided updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of emerald green suede and metallic gold leather Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ PVC detail pointed toe pumps, and a pair of super statement David Webb ‘Samurai’ carved emerald, white diamonds, black enamel, 18K gold, and platinum.Sunday night is really all about Taylor Swift. In addition to her five nominations, including Artist of the Year, the country come pop star is being honored with the Artist of the Decade award. Now when they first announced that Taylor would be receiving this award was that it was just five years ago that the AMA’s gave her the Dick Clark Award for Excellence. It was a “lifetime achievement” style award at a time when Taylor was just officially starting the transition out of her country comfort zone and turning into a serious pop star. Now the more I thought about it I definitely think that Taylor definitely deserves the Artist of the Decade title. She has really had a journey from sugary sweet princess to a pop star in training to an edgy reputation ruining stint and has come back on top again. With every album she has released she has reinvented herself with a new character and persona, unlike just about everyone. Since the start of the decade Taylor has put out five albums with most of her iconic hit songs coming out of those albums. Now there was a lot of controversy recently about the performance that Taylor would be giving at Sunday nights show, but it seems like it has worked out and we will see Taylor demonstrate her decade in music on the AMA’s stage. Before that performance though I am praying that she will shut down the red carpet. It has been a while since I have really loved one of Taylor’s red carpet moments and I just imagine that given the fact that she is ensured to receive a major honor at the AMA’s that she will be on top form and deliver something major. I knew immediately what I wanted to see her bring to life on this red carpet with this pale blue tulle one shoulder Ralph & Russo Fall 2019 Couture asymmetrical gown which features a thigh-high slit, a cornflower blue silk taffeta bow belt, hand embellished with devoré ostrich feathers, and light azore glass beads. Taylor has been loving this light and airy pastel vibe lately, aside from the two neon Versace print jacket dresses she wore for the Teen Choice Awards and the MTV VMA’s, and this gown just would ensure that Taylor really delivers the major moment I am praying for. Finish the look with a loose updo, defined eyes, light pink lips, dazzling silver crystal fringe embellished Gianvito Rossi ‘Jasmine’ metallic leather strappy sandals, and Tiffany & Co. white diamond and aquamarine art deco drop earrings would all add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble.

The 2019 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday November 24, 2019.

2019 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

After giving you a new format Tuesday for my wishes for the 2019 American Music Awards hostess Ciara I am back to a much more traditional set up. Regular readers will definitely know the format for today’s set of wishes for the red carpet at the 2019 American Music Awards which will take place this Sunday night. This is one of the last major red carpets of the year and I am hoping that someone will deliver a major moment. I have already narrowed down my Best Dressed of the Year List to just 55 possible contenders, but while there may only be 40 days left in 2019 there is still a chance that my list can be disrupted. I believe that some of the ladies that are confirmed to attend the 2019 American Music Awards could very easily put together a look worthy of the Best Dressed of the Year list. Ariana Grande is nominated for six awards this weekend and I am hoping that we finally see her take to a red carpet for the first time in almost a year this weekend. I honestly knew exactly what look I wanted to see the 26 year old sugary sweet songstress to bring to life on this red carpet on Sunday night. I have thought that this white, powder pink, and black Celia Kritharioti Fall 2019 Couture feathered high low gown would be such a perfect moment for Ari since it first came down the Parisian runway back in July. We are definitely used to seeing Ariana give us uber flirty feminine moments on the red carpet so I really think that this moment could work. I think this look is the perfect balance of chic femininity and DRAMA for Ariana to deliver on the American Music Awards red carpet. I would love to see Ariana change up her signature high ponytail hairstyle for a big bun updo, but I don’t think that will happen and I do think that her signature style would still work very well with this gown. The perfect finishing touches for this look include thick winged eyes, mauve pink matte lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Katie’ black patent and suede crystal embellished hotfix bow platform sandals, and a selection of Messika jewels from the ‘The Snow Queen’ inspired collection including a pair of ‘Shards of Mirror’ white diamond floating cluster earrings and a matching ‘Shards of Mirror’ white diamond cuff bracelet.Cardi B could finish out a major 2019 by taking home two American Music Awards home this weekend. It was really at last years AMA’s that I fell in love with Cardi’s sense of style. She really blossomed on this red carpet last year wearing a major floral Dolce & Gabbana (ew in retrospect) gown and matching headwrap. This year I want Cardi to deliver femme fatale Hollywood glamour wearing this silver fully beaded Yousef Al-Jasmi Fall 2019 Couture wrap style gown which features a plunging wide v-neckline, dramatic cape sleeves, and a high center split. This is definitely not something we have really seen from Cardi yet, but I just imagine her delivering this rich high glam bitch persona wearing this gown on the American Music Awards red carpet with a sleek bouffant style updo, thick winged lined smokey eyes, bold matte red lips, a pair of silver glitter Casadei ‘Blade’ pointed toe pumps, and dazzling Butani diamonds including a pair of ‘Mayfair’ white diamond cluster earrings and a statement white diamond draped collar necklace. Cardi already is on my short list for a spot on my Best Dressed of the Year List, but if done the way I am imagining in my head I believe that this could be another major contender as well. Dua Lipa is also on my Best Dressed of the Year short list currently thanks to the amazing red Valentino Couture gown that she wore for the amfAR Gala in Cannes earlier this year. Aside from that moment I was lacking major drama moment from Dua this year. That comes on the heels of her major drama moments in Giambattista Valli Couture last year. I decided that I was going to turn back to the French Haute Couturier for the look I most wanted to see Dua, who is performing at the AMA’s this weekend, bring to life on the red carpet. This bold hot pink strapless Giambattista Valli Fall 2019 Couture feathered mini dress which features a sash draped waist that trails into a dramatic chiffon train was one of my favorite looks that was presented during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Fall 2019 back in July and I have been waiting for someone to wear it. I feel like this is a dress perfect for a party, premiere, or well a music awards since it doesn’t really scream “Hollywood” to me as much as it screams “Party.” I believe that Dua would bring this dress to life. She has that modelesque stature that I believe is needed to really bring this look to life. Now that being said I HATE her two tones hair. I would like her to choose if she wants dark hair or blonde hair and stick with it. That being said I do not believe that Dua is going to change up the hair style, so I want to see it as a center parted sleek updo to let the dress be the focus of this look. A pair of matching hot pink Christian Louboutin ‘Araborda’ crystal embellished peep toe slingback sandals, defined eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of dazzling white diamond Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019 drop earrings would ensure that Dua is ready to make this look come to life on the AMA’s red carpet. Coming off the news yesterday that she is the one with the most 2020 Grammy Award nominations I am expecting Lizzo to definitely be 100% that bitch and deliver a superbly major moment on the red carpet at the American Music Awards as she really begins her campaign to take home several Grammy’s in January. She has owned red carpets this year wearing Moschino, Marc Jacobs, and Christopher John Rogers for the biggest red carpets. As I was on the hunt for the perfect look for Lizzo to bring to life on the American Music Awards red carpet I found this seafoam green and black Christian Siriano Spring 2020 RTW cold-shoulder tulle bustier gown which features boned bodice, defined hips, column skirt, and overall sheer construction on the runway of the designers re-show during Paris Fashion Week. When originally presented at New York Fashion Week this gown was presented in all black, but I think that the seafoam tulle on the shoulders/neckline and skirt make this look like less of a costume, and more of a high fashion moment. I see this gown as Siriano does Thierry Mugler. Now I know that Lizzo has the personality and the confidence to really bring this look to life especially if styled with a 60’s inspired updo, smokey eyes, burgundy Fenty Beauty ‘Griselda’ mattemoiselle plush matte lipstick, black Christian Louboutin ‘Galativi’ point toe velvet and mesh pointed toe pumps, and Norman Silverman diamonds including a pair of ‘Fleur’ floral drop earrings and a major oval cut and half mood diamond cocktail ring. Selena Gomez will be performing her songs “Lose You To Love Me” and “Look At Her Now” at the 2019 American Music Awards this weekend. Selena has had several chic moments on the AMA’s red carpet over the years and I am excited to see what this years look will be. It seems like Selena is now free of the reigns of her Coach ties now that Jennifer Lopez has been announced as the brands latest face. So I am really excited to see what she will bring to this red carpet. I loved the new sexier woman that Alessandro Michele sent down the Gucci Spring 2020 RTW runway. To be honest I can’t tell you why none of the looks from this collection have yet to make it to a red carpet. Well I would love to see Selena change that by stepping onto the AMA’s red carpet on Sunday wearing this black halter neck gown from that collection which features jade green and gold Chinese brocade inspired brocade, a daring chest cutout, a column skirt, and a thigh high split. The cut of this gown took me back to the days of Tom Ford and the fabric screams Alessandro’s vibe and the two together just makes for a perfect meshing of aesthetics. I think that Selena would deliver this moment on the red carpet with effortless ease. A pair of simple black suede Gucci ankle strap sandals, a sleek center parted low bun, defined eyes, light pink lips, and Hanut Singh ‘Egyptian Revivalist’ white topaz, emerald, enamel, and diamond drop earrings would ensure that this is one of Selena’s best red carpet moments in a long time.

2019 American Music Awards: Hostess Ciara Red Carpet Wish List

Sunday night is the 2019 American Music Awards. This years show will be hosted by Ciara, and after the major performance by last years host Tracee Ellis Ross (both in comedy and in fashion) I would say that she has some big shoes to fill. I was actually really excited to start picking looks for Ciara to wear on the red carpet and stage for Sunday nights awards. I initially pulled almost 400 images of ready to wear and couture runway looks as well as some off the rack looks that I think would give Ciara the best stage wardrobe of any awards show host this year. I decided to be a little different in how I would present the wishes to you. Typically I would write paragraphs about each individual look picking all of the accessories that I would style the look with, but I just didn’t have time to style all the looks. But I still wanted to make sure I put out fashion wishes for Ciara which you can see below.

I started the night with a chic high low Elie Saab Spring 2019 Couture strapless gown for Ciara to wear on the red carpet. It is a glamorous and flirty moment that I think would kick the night off in style. Now that being said I am really excited about all the wardrobe changes that I’ve picked for Ciara to quick change into over the course of the show. In addition to that red carpet gown I picked 8 looks for Ciara to wear during the live show. They start with edgy glam in Jean Louis Sebaj Couture and travel through a color and length story throughout finishing with a statement tangerine orange Georges Hobeika Fall 2019 Couture jumpsuit with a major bow and sash moment. When it came to picking these looks I focused on two things color and embellishments. Really only two looks, a lime green silk Versace Spring 2020 RTW strapless mini dress and a hot pink hype beast vibe Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh Spring 2020 RTW high low gown, were devoid of any crystal embellishments. Pants looks also featured heavily as I picked all the looks I wanted to see Ciara wearing on the American Music Awards stage this weekend. Ultimately I decided on three very different pant moments for Ciara from Aliette, Balmain, and Georges Hobeika.

I do expect that Ciara will deliver a major night of fashion this weekend as she hosts the 2019 American Music Awards and I am really excited to see all of the looks that she will bring to life on this red carpet and stage.
