Warm and Cozy Winter Style

As the song goes “The weather outside is frightful” but instead of a delightful fire I am keeping warm this winter in the most luxurious way possible. When I pick my cozy wardrobe the styles of the looks can vary extremely. Some days I don’t want to get out of my warm PJ’s staying in my thermal shirt and flannel pants all day, but often I want to look my best even if I’m not leaving my house. This is the perfect example of one of those looks that I would wear just to lounge around the house.

The statement piece of this look is obviously the black and white striped faux fur coat that I bought at Forever 21 about two years ago. It was on sale for $45 and I really didn’t have the money for it, but I knew I wanted it and that I would get a lot of wear out of it. One of my friends was with me and it was just after Christmas and she said I had to have it, so she bought it for me. One of the best wardrobe gifts I’ve ever gotten. I have dressed it up for formal occasions and down for lounging around the house. I have even used it in my genderbended Cruella De Vile costume for Halloween in 2016.

I dressed this look down pairing it with a black “More Issues Than Vogue” oversized sweatshirt that I bought for New York Fashion Week and ended up being what I traveled wearing and a pair of black Lucky Brand ‘Rebel Super Skinny’ jeans.

I crowned the look with another “extra” piece with my white Christian Louboutin lace ups with a silver metal toe cap. I bought them as a graduation gift to myself when I graduated college. They are major statements and I absolutely love them. They add a major element of class and elegance to any look.

Want to steal my look? Check out the dupes for the pieces you cannot anymore and get yourself warm and cozy for the winter.

Target Haul Tuesday: Diane Kruger Street Style Inspired

I put a poll up on Twitter to find out who my followers wanted to see me create outfits around this week, and Diane Kruger beat out Cara Delevingne and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to be this week’s feature. Diane Kruger is one of our biggest fashion crushes so it did not surprise me that she won out. For today’s Target Haul Tuesday I decided to use one of Diane’s street style looks as inspiration for this weeks look. This look is incredibly perfect for summer and the impending transition into early fall. Anyone could make this look work and is the perfect look to run some errands in on a weekend then meet friends for drinks. Change up the accessories for this look to take it from errands on the go to night out with friends.

High Fashion Friday: A Summer Office Ensemble

As I mentioned in my first Target Haul Tuesday I am going to be uploading a few shopping posts a week. While Tuesday’s are for affordable everyday fashion Friday’s are going to be for the aspirational high end shopping. For today I have definitely stayed with my summer office ensembles with this awesome looks. I normally wouldn’t pick a denim jacket for an office look but I think that this raw edged AG Adriano Goldschmied striped denim blazer is still formal enough to be worn in an office setting. I think it perfectly compliments the printed cap sleeve BOSS sheath dress. I spiced the look up by adding the printed Gucci ‘Dionysus’ bag, the multicolored beaded fringe Isabel Marant necklace, bold yellow Gianvito Rossi sandals, and pink Linda Farrow cat eye sunglasses.

AG Adriano Goldschmied denim blazer – $268

BOSS ‘Donisa’ sheath dress – $595

Gucci ‘Dionysus’ tropical print bag – $2,700

Gianvito Rossi strappy sandals – $995

Linda Farrow capped cat eye sunglasses – $750

Isabel Marant tassel necklace – $214

Target Haul Tuesday

Welcome to a whole new set of posts. I wanted to start bringing more fashion for all of my readers in general. Over the next couple of weeks you will be seeing a lot more shopping posts detailing a great look and where to get your hands on the pieces to get the look for yourself. Tuesdays are going to be dedicated to my favorite retailer, Target. The joke is true. I cannot walk into Target for one thing without spending at least $30. The aisles just are a treasure trove for those that want to have a luxe lifestyle on a budget. My first Target Haul Tuesday consists of a look that I put together that is the perfect summer look to wear at the office. I decided that I wanted to build the look around the Merona mule loafers, which are very Gucci, and I think that this look mixes patters and colors in a way that would turn any one into a street style maven. This look can work in the office, on a date, or even a Sunday brunch. Bellow are where you can go to get each of the pieces in this look, all from Target.

#DenimOnDenim: How I Wear The Trend

One of the hottest trends this season is wearing lots of denim. I have been inspired to wear denim on denim for a while now and I am really excited about wearing it more and more this spring and summer. Here I am leaving the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte (one of my favorite museums,) wearing the trend. I have a tribal an Adam Levine tribal printed denim button down which I got on final clearance when my local Kmart was going out of business, Lucky Brand ‘1 Authentic Skinny’ dark wash jeans, a vintage Lacoste tan rain jacket I found at Goodwill, a Geoffrey Beene reversible belt with a gold buckle on its black side, and a pair of gold metallic sneakers I got online from AliExpress. This is a pretty typical daytime look for me. I do not believe in being boring so I never wear anything very standard. Going about elevating basic streetwear can be tricky. A lot of the time I pick one statement piece when it comes to casual dressing. Here my statement piece is my shoes. People always stare at my shoes because they are the easiest way to elevate an outfit. If you are wearing jeans and a t-shirt that is something a million people have worn on a daily basis. Add a pair of bold shoes to that look then you have something to make people notice you and now you have a conversation starter worked into your wardrobe.
