2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

As we get closer to the actual date of the Grammy’s my wishes are going to get a little more fantastical. While I am still incorporating picks for performers and nominees, some of my wishes are for people we would normally have seen on a Grammy’s red carpet. There are all sorts of great events happening before and after this years show which tell me that there would have been some great moments from those stars as they usually make appearances at those events and then at the Grammy’s themselves. So I am disappointed we are loosing out on some of those moments, but I am getting more and more excited for the future. Red carpets are sure to start returning in full force by the end of this year and I am very excited.Andra Day is one of those stars. She is attending one of those satellite events and with her major awards season run (so far in Chanel Couture and custom Prada) on the road to the Oscars I would definitely expect that we would have seen her at the Grammy’s. For her last two Grammy’s shes referenced bold retro inspired glam, but for this years show I would have gone for more 40’s femme fatale glamour with this deep pool blue velvet Ralph & Russo Fall 2018 Couture strapless column gown which features soft draping, a bustier bodice, intricate crystal snake embroidery, and a daring hip high spit. I love the super sexy Rita Hayworth vibe of this gown and I feel like Andra would be able to sell this gown to us easily. So I would have loved to see her wearing this gown with a sleek retro inspired updo, defined eyes, matte burgundy lips, a pair of gold Casadei rock crystal studded ankle strap sandals, and a statement 18k gold David Webb chain-link collar necklace with brilliant-cut white diamonds and black enamel. Billy Porter will be appearing in a Grammy special about the music connected to social movements in the weeks after the show. Knowing that I would have expected to see the fashionista on the red carpet. He always serves up major fashion moments and I’ve been dying to see Billy wear this lime green Palomo Spain Spring 2021 ensemble which features a floor length duster coat (with a robins egg blue lining) with matching trousers and a white shirt since it was first presented. I was going to use it for a “premiere” of a movie he will be staring in, but that movie release got pushed. So I was thrilled that I still got to put this wish into the universe. I would love to see this major fashion moment styled perfectly with a pair of gold Saint Laurent ‘Candy’ platform boots and a vintage Veruda ‘Nosegay’ peridot, white and yellow diamond brooch set in 18k gold and platinum. Cardi B will be performing on this years show Sunday night so I know she will be serving LOOKS. Her last two Grammy’s have both been in Mugler, both vintage and custom. I wanted a major moment this year and I found it in this black and silver Elie Saab Spring 2021 Couture one shoulder gown which features sequined “feather” 3D details on the bodice, a single sleeve, sheer construction, crystal embellished waist, and an a-line skirt. I have been all over this collection in my Grammy wishes picking looks for H.E.R. and Ariana Grande as well. Crazy thing is that while all three looks are coming from the same collection they all feel very different at the same time. I would absolutely love to see Cardi take this sexy yet glam moment and style it with a sleek updo, smokey winged eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black leather Christian Louboutin ‘Round Chick Alta 150 Black Kid’ scalloped edge peep toe ankle strap d’orsay platform pumps, and a selection of Amwaj jewels including white diamond waterfall chandelier earrings and a matching white diamond cocktail ring to really make this look come to life. John Legend has two Grammy nominations this year and that would definitely have meant we would have seen him and wife Chrissy Teigan on the Grammy’s red carpet this year. I am hoping that this social media savvy duo will still do some super chic fashion moments for the ‘gram. I picked two super dazzling and glam complimentary moments for the pair starting with a steel blue and silver floral jacquard metallic Tom Ford Fall 2021 Menswear tuxedo blazer styled with black trousers. Now the jacket is a favorite of mine from the Fall 2021 menswear collections and I feel like John would look phenomenal in it, but I would style it with a classic white tuxedo shirt, black tuxedo studs, a black bow tie, and a pair of black patent leather Jimmy Choo ‘Foxley/m’ tassel detailed loafers. Now for Chrissy I went with a shining moment with this metallic gunmetal grey pleated chiffon Georges Chakra Fall 2020 Couture strapless gown which features intricate ruffle details, a beaded waist, an a-line skirt, and a thigh high split. Chrissy always knows how to deliver high glam moments on the red carpet and this look would definitely make this a major moment on the red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, dark mauve lips, a grey crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, a pair of metallic gunmetal grey Stuart Weitzman ‘Oracle 100’ crystal ball detailed ankle strap sandals, and statement arabesque inspired Karen Suen white diamond chandelier earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. A winning duo for a fabulous couple. Best Country Song nominee Maren Morris will be performing with John Mayer at this Sunday’s show. I always find something to fault Maren with. I want to love her, but her style just is tacky and dated and very try to hard. I actually can’t believe I went here, but I picked two looks from D***e & G*****a Secrets & Diamonds collection. She wore D***e for the CMA Awards and it was one of her better looks. I just feel like if anyone could make me like a D***e moment now it would be Maren. For the “red carpet” I would love to see her wearing this black tiered gown with thick straps, intricate crystal embroidery, and a bustier bodice. It is all about glamour from head to toe and would be perfect with sleek old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, defined eyes, bold red lips, black suede Amina Muaddi ‘Vita’ strappy platform sandals, and a selection of Dena Kemp jewels including black and white diamond drop earrings and a matching link cocktail ring. For the performance I went with more dazzle for Maren picking this silver crystal fringe mini dress which I can see being a super modern flapper moment. Keeping the same beauty adding a soft waves, a pair of silver Aquazzura ‘Temptation’ crystal trimmed PVC peep toe slingback sandals, and more Dena Kemp jewels including white diamond fan cluster earrings, a three flower stud white diamond two finger ring, and a five row white diamond cocktail ring would make this look sparkle and shine in the best way possible on our television screens.

The 2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS Sunday March 14, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2021 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Even though the Golden Globes haven’t happened yet I am moving on to the next red carpet which will be the Critics Choice Awards which is next Sunday. Unlike when I started my Globes wishes we know the format that the 2021 Critics Choice Awards will take.  In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards show will be an in-person/virtual hybrid, with this years host Taye Diggs and some of the evening’s presenters filming from a stage in Los Angeles, and nominees appearing remotely from various locations around the world. As I plan these wishes I am filling them with all the stars nominated on both the film and television side, but I may change things up over the course of the week adding presenters and moving some of the nominees to the roundup post like I did earlier today for the Golden Globe Awards. But, let’s kick things off in high style with 5 major looks for nominees shall we?Andra Day is nominated for Best Actress thanks to her performance in The United States vs Billie Holiday. Because of her very bold vintage inspired/rockabilly style I knew that at some point in my wishes for Andra that I wanted to include something vintage. When I saw this navy and black 1950’s Pierre Balmain Haute Couture beaded organza and silk column gown from Morphew with features halter straps, a high low hem, and a very little train I knew it would be a perfect look for the Critics Choice Awards. This red carpet is usually one of the more laid back events and I think that the simplicity of the silhouette is perfect. I have to say I love seeing vintage Pierre Balmain on the red carpet. The DNA of the house of Balmain is so different than the sex pot glam that we know the house to be now and every time someone pulls out vintage Balmain it really makes for great red carpet moments. I think of Penelope Cruz at the 2009 Oscars and Kristin Davis at the 2020 White House Correspondents Dinner as perfect examples. This very 50’s silhouette, styled with a sleek victory rolls updo, saturated blue smokey eyes with sharp winged liner, bold red glossy lips, a black Holt Renfrew fox fur cape stole with rhinestones, a pair of black satin Givenchy ‘Double G 105’ pointed toe strappy pumps, and a selection of high jewelry from Gismondi 1754 including white diamond ‘Ghiaccio’ floral waterfall earrings and a one of a kind white diamond and sapphire cocktail ring would be an absolutely phenomenal moment for Andra to rock for the Critics Choice Awards. Claire Danes earned her 2021 Critics Choice Awards nomination once again thanks to her role as Carrie Matheson in Homeland. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Claire on an awards red carpet for this series and I would absolutely love to see her giving us a super feminine moment wearing this light blue Oscar de la Renta Resort 2021 lace ball gown which features a tie shoulder, ‘square’ neckline, defined waist, and an a-line skirt. It is all about the soft feminine glamour with this look and that would need to have that same elegant femininity in the styling. I would finish this look with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of nude Casadei ‘Felina’ strappy ankle strap sandals, and delicate white diamond Cartier ‘Pluie de Cartier’ feather inspired drop earrings to really make it scream feminine glamour from head to toe.So far in my awards wishes this year for Josh O’Connor I’ve picked intriguing looks from Dior Men & Fendi Couture for him to bring to life on this season red carpets. Continuing with my run of interesting choices for Josh I would have the Best Actor in a Drama Series nominee wearing this ivory Givenchy Pre-Fall 2021 tuxedo which features short peak lapels, pin clasp closure, lengthened hem blazer, and a pair of straight leg trousers. It is a cool look and I definitely think that it would be something that Josh would bring to for this red carpet, even if it a virtual one. I would keep the runway styling just leaving the bag at home and hemming the trousers so there is no pooling at the ankle. Julia Garner has done both the big heritage brand thing and the rising star thing. So I would love to see her do the rising star thing for the Critics Choice Awards after the Burberry gown I want to see her bring to life for the Golden Globes. I must be in a blue feeling for Julia because I would adore seeing her wearing this navy pleated chiffon Rhude Fall 2021 RTW halter gown which features major draping. It is modern, yet glamorous and I feel like it would be a really cool girl moment for her to bring to life. A sleek finger wave updo to really play into the modern flapper vibe of this look, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a navy crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture slim rectangle clutch, a pair of navy glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Misty 120’ ankle strap sandals, and white diamond set in platinum Tiffany & Co. multi-cut drop earrings would make this moment glamorous from head to toe. The last look today is for Shira Haas who I’ve done nothing but Chanel looks for all awards season long and I am not changing that idea any time soon. While I am almost always against brand ambassadors and consistently wearing looks from the same designer all the time I feel like Shira is the perfect ambassador for Chanel. She has a look that we don’t often see from the brand, but her edgy youthfulness works for the brand in a way that other Chanel ambassadors don’t. So as I was looking at looks for Shira to wear for the Critics Choice Awards I thought that this black and white liberty floral print halter gown from the Chanel Spring 2021 RTW collection which features a high halter neck with a pussy bow detail, loose fit blouse, fitted waist, and a high low fishtail skirt would be a perfect choice. This look meshes old Hollywood glamour, 70’s disco, and bohemia and meshes them all together perfectly. I feel like Shira would definitely be the perfect person to bring this look from the runway to real life especially if styled with her shaved head, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, black crystal embellished Rene Caovilla ankle strap sandals, and a pair of dazzling Cartier High Jewelry ‘Dioscures’ white diamond chandelier ear cuffs.

The 2021 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Sunday March 7, 2021.

2021 Palm Springs International Film Festival Black Tie Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

The Palm Springs International Film Festival and Film Awards Gala is not presenting an in-person event this year due to the pandemic, however the Palm Springs International Film Society is recognizing this year’s best in filmmaking. In a special on Entertainment Tonight later this week will celebrate the honorees awards with exclusive interviews. The Palm Springs International Film Society looks forward to seeing us again with a red carpet in in 2022! The PSIFF Black Tie Awards Gala is usually the kickoff to awards season. It is traditionally the first red carpet after the new year ahead of the Golden Globe Awards. With some of the nominees this year I am very disappointed that we will not get a red carpet, but I still wanted to talk about what I would have loved to see the honorees bring to life on the red carpet. So I am taking a break from my Golden Globe Awards wishes today and tomorrow to bring you wishes for these nominees. Andra Day has earned herself several big award nominations this year so far with nods from the Globes and the Critics Choice Awards. There is still Oscar buzz for her as well thanks to her performance in The United States vs. Billie Holiday which earned her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Had there been a red carpet this year I would have loved to see Andra give us something different than I have picked for her in recent posts. So far this year I have gone for really retro glam looks from Giambattista Valli Couture and Schiaparelli Couture for the songstress turned actress to bring to life. I was doing some looking and I saw this black and white Georges Hobeika Spring 2021 RTW asymmetrical caped gown which features a high neck, beaded fern leaf detail on the bodice, belted waist, and a high low hem. I don’t know what about this gown spoke to me, but the thought of Andra bringing this moment to life on a red carpet was a phenomenal idea for me. While it screams modernity I also see that with the right styling it could still scream retro glamour with the right styling. The whole retro glam vibe is definitely Andra’s signature so I would style this look with a sleek beehive embellished with a silver crystal embellished black satin Prada headband, defined winged eyes, deep glossy berry lips, a hot pink satin Gucci envelope clutch, black satin Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Sphera’ crystal detailed ankle strap chunky heel platform sandals, and a selection of Anabela Chan jewels including a pair of ruby garnet, pink sapphire, & rose tourmaline ‘Lily’ pendant stud earrings, an amethyst, pink sapphires, peridot, blue topaz, canary citrine, coral cabochon, and white diamond ‘Rose Neredies’ cocktail ring, a ruby, fuchsia pink sapphire, and rose pink sapphire ‘Nova Coil’ ring, and a crimson red rubellite ‘Mirage’ cocktail ring with marquise, trillion and round brilliant-cut rubies, orange sapphires, and rose tourmalines. Carey Mulligan could very well take her role in Promising Young Woman all the way to the Oscars. That performance has gotten her honored at the Palm Springs Film Festival with the International Star Award.  I am really looking at all of the designers Carey tends to gravitate toward, but also making sure I am making wishes I really want to see from her. I’ve already picked looks from Dior and Chanel for Carey and decided to go with a little bit of a wish picking this navy silk Giorgio Armani Spring 2021 RTW cap sleeve tea length gown which features a plunging neckline, intricate beaded flower embroidery, and a center split. This look screams glamour and and I feel like it would be something perfect for Carey to bring to life for this red carpet. A loose romantic updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a navy satin Jil Sander ‘Goju Small’ clutch, metallic blue Giorgio Armani peep toe t-strap sandals, and a pair of London by De Beers ‘Thames Path’ white diamond cluster earrings with teardrops would finish this look absolutely beautifully. Leslie Odom Jr. is another who is very likely to run awards season all the way to the Oscars. He was phenomenal as Sam Cooke in One Night In Miami so I definitely understand. So I am definitely keeping an eye on him. I am really excited to see what major menswear moments he will wear over the course of awards season. Had there been an actual red carpet for this years PSIFF Black Tie Awards Gala I would have loved to see Leslie wearing this black Versace Pre-Fall 2021 tuxedo with a two tone black and tan shawl lapel one button lapel tuxedo jacket. I adore this tuxedo and I would love to see this look on Leslie especially if styled with a white Versace collarless button down with a black ribbon detail at the neck, and gold crystal embellished buttons on the neck and cuff, a pair of black and cream leopard print Christian Louboutin ‘Style on the Nile’ loafers, and a black and gold Versace ‘V-Race’ duel time watch. Riz Ahmed is another one of the men I am very excited to see on the red carpet this  awards season. I want to see him bring some very interesting moments on the red carpet. He is the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor winner for his performance in Sound of Metal. Had there been a red carpet this year for the PSIFF I would have opted to put Riz in this black and white print Haider Ackermann Fall 2020 Menswear tuxedo which features a thin lapel blazer and black slim fit trousers. Now on the runway the look was styled with a a three button vest and no shirt, but I think I would ditch the vest and add a white Haider Ackermann crystal collar button up dress shirt to really make this a super cool menswear moment. To add the perfect finishing touches to this look I would add a pair of black velvet Christian Louboutin ‘Nit Night’ grosgrain strap and silver spike studded loafers and a black alligator strap Cartier ‘Rotonde de Cartier’ Astromystérieux watch. It would make another major menswear moment that I would die to have in my own closet for this awards season. Finishing out today is Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress honoree Viola Davis. I adored her performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and I am very excited to see her looks this awards season. So far this awards season in terms of wishes I’ve gone with Elie Saab and Jason Wu for Viola. I have all gone for color moments and I am not slowing that down now. I would love to see Viola pull out this baby pink strapless LBV Spring 2021 RTW column gown with a cowl detailed sweetheart neckline. LBV is a new line for the designer Elizabeth Kennedy who was a red carpet powerhouse for a hot second and I want to see this line get all kinds of red carpet love. The silhouette of this gown is definitely something that Viola has been drawn to in the past. A full afro style, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, a money green and pink Judith Leiber Couture x Ashley Longshore ‘I’ll Pick Up The Tab’ crystal embellished minaudiere, a pair of metallic baby pink Gianvito Rossi strappy ankle strap sandals, and a selection of David Morris white and pink diamond jewels including a pair of teardrop earrings and a statement collar necklace would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

2021 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

I am hoping that the 2021 Golden Globe Awards will bring some absolutely major glamorous looks over the course of the evening. I hope this event goes better than the Emmy’s did last year. I was bored out of my mind with the show and the looks were lackluster at best save for a few bright spots. Nominees are expected to appear at this years show remotely I just hope that setup is done less like Zoom and more like broadcast from location. It can be done and I am holding out loose hope that it will be so.Andra Day was a surprise nominee this year. It seemed like The United States vs. Billie Holiday was out of the running for awards this year, but Andra has collected a whole host of awards nominations this year. I love Andra’s sense of style and I really want to see her shine this awards season. She has a retro sensibility and I will be highlighting that in all of my awards season wishes starting with the major moment I would love to see her wear for the Golden Globe Awards. The moment I saw this Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture ensemble which features a strapless black column gown with a half moon neckline and a sheer paneled waist paired with a dramatic red silk opera coat I immediately thought of Andra. Now it does have a bit of the same vibe as Lady Gaga’s 2019 periwinkle Valentino Couture gown, but I think that the two looks are different enough that I wouldn’t have any issue with Andra wearing this look for the Globes. Now with a sleek curled rockabilly inspired half up half down hairstyle, bold winged eyes and red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Mariacar 120’ fishnet mesh cross strap peep toe platform sandals, and statement David Webb ‘Cross River’ drop hoop earring made of round and oval-cut rubies, brilliant-cut diamonds, 18K gold, and platinum would definitely make this a major moment for Andra’s first Golden Globes red carpet. Schitt’s Creek took the Emmy’s by storm and swept in EVERY category during the show. The cast is one of the few who did it right by hosting a socially distanced viewing gala complete with it’s own red carpet. Annie Murphy showed up to that event in a black Valentino suit with a sheer bodice and some very interesting sneakers. It was cool, but for the Golden Globe Awards where her role in the show has earned her a Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role nomination, one she very well most likely win. I want to see her give us bold glamour wearing this black feathered Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features a dot printed one shoulder bodice, a sheer strapless bustier, and a velvet belted waist. We saw Annie wear Dior last year for the SAG Awards and I think this would be a perfect option for her to wear to win. It’s a favorite gown of mine and I am shocked it hasn’t been worn yet. A sleek updo, soft smokey eyes, deep antique rose pink lips, a pair of black dot detailed mesh Christian Dior ‘J’Adior’ peep toe slingback pumps, and vintage white diamond flower earrings in blackened 18k gold earrings from Beladora would ensure that Annie has her most glamorous red carpet moment ever. Catherine O’Hara was never one I would watch on the red carpet, but her Valentino ensemble at the Emmy’s was phenomenal. I know that it was a RTW look, but it was a phenomenal get. With that in mind as I was thinking about what I wanted the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy nominee to wear on this red carpet and I thought well let’s get couture. It isn’t often that the stars of the TV comedy category are offered great moments from top tier designers, but I think that Catherine has that pull right now. I would love to see her snatch up this black velvet Chanel Fall 2019 Couture long sleeve column gown which features a bodice heavily embroidered with white, gold, and silver detail that comes down the shoulders and sleeves and a black velvet bow on the neckline. It is a very chic and classic look with a bold twist via those embellishments and I feel like it is totally in tune with Catherine’s sense of style. It would be the perfect glamour moment with a side parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a black crystal embellished Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ satin clutch, a pair of black satin Amina Muaddi ‘Ursina 105’ crystal embellished ankle strap d’Orsay pointed toe pumps, Chanel Haute Jewellery ‘Tweed de Chanel’ collection round disc white diamond earrings with teardrops, and a Chanel Haute Jewellery ‘Tweed de Chanel’ collection ‘Tweed Brode’ white diamond cocktail ring. Dan Levy is definitely a fashion guy and isn’t afraid to push boundaries. For the Emmy Awards last year he rocked a grey Thom Brown skirt suit and it was definitely one of the most important fashion moments of the night. He’s been dressed by major fashion houses like Valentino, Prada, and Versace. But for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards where he is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role I want him to really give us a fashion moment. Now the image of this look is very dark and it might be difficult to see all the detail of the look, so I implore you to click here and really see what this black Maison Margiela Spring 2021 RTW double breasted suit with a wax painted abstract detailing on the pinstripe wool blazer. The pants have a ripped detail, but I think I would ask Maison Margiela to create a custom pair of pinstripe trousers with the same waxed paint like details. It would take this look from editorial to red carpet. Now is this anything close to the classic satin tuxedos we see on the red carpet usually? Oh hell no, but I love that about this look. It is different and it is cool which is pretty much how I would define Dan. To continue to make this an incredibly cool look for Dan I would style this customized suit with a black collarless button down, a pair of black brush off leather Jimmy Choo ‘Falcon’ silver studded oxfords, a hand carved blue tigers eye Stephen Dweck flower sculpted ring, and a Cartier ‘Santos-Dumont Skeleton’ hand-wound 43.3mm ADLC-coated titanium and black alligator watch. My final wish today is for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy nominee Michelle Pfeiffer. I go back and forth on how I feel about Michelle’s style. I hated the Brunello Cucinelli glittered lurex dress she wore last year, and this year I really want to see her give us superb glamour when she makes her appearance during this years event. I would love to see Michelle dive real deep into the couture archives and pull this beautiful red silk cap sleeve gown which features a v-neck, belted waist, seam defined hips, and a center split which hails from the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1986 Couture collection. I love vintage YSL couture. It is really all about cut and glamour and there are so many moments I would love to see worn on today’s red carpets. I feel like this sophisticated gown oozes not only glamour, but also sex appeal and I think that is perfect for Michelle. It would ooze sensual glamour from head to toe especially if Michelle styled the gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, nude pink glossy lips, a red crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, a pair of red patent leather Saint Laurent ‘Venus’ pointed toe pumps with a satin ribbon tied ankle strap, and a bit of sparkle via a white diamond Cartier ‘Reflection de Cartier’ riviere necklace.

The 2021 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday February 28, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years event here.

“The United States vs. Billie Holiday” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

On the heels of two Golden Globe nominations The United States vs. Billie Holiday is picking up Oscar steam. There are a couple of categories I feel this film could get and so I want to see some amazing virtual premiere looks from the cast in the lead up to the films digital release on February 26, 2021. I think that great press leading up to the release will help push the film over the hump and on its way to the Oscars. It was unexpected that Andra Day was going to get a Best Actress nomination for the Golden Globe Awards. Most of the articles I read predicting this years nominations had her in the dark horse category. So when they called out her name I was very, very excited. Now as I was planning looks here I would love to see Andra wear I knew that this Giambattista Valli Spring 2021 Couture long sleeve a-line dress which features an intricate silver sequin and crystal embellished high neck bodice and a big metallic pink dotted black tulle all skirt. The dress is tied together perfectly with black and red satin bows. It would definitely speak to Andra’s favored retro glamour and I can only imagine the major glamour she would be able to deliver rocking this look. With a sleek curled retro inspired updo detailed with red roses, thick winged smokey glitter eyes, bold matte red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Suola Kate 100’ crystal sole detailed pointed toe pumps, and a selection of dazzling Butani jewels including a pair of white diamond and ruby flower stud earrings, a statement ruby and white diamond flower cocktail ring, and then a selection of white diamond and ruby bands strewn about her fingers would definitely make this a major Instagram premiere moment for Andra.

The United States vs. Billie Holiday is set to start streaming on Hulu on Friday February 26, 2021.

Dream Inaugural Ball for President Joe Biden Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

As this post goes live Joe Biden will be taking the oath of office on the steps of the capitol. The day of change has arrived and we are going to mark it by continuing of what could have been tonight had COVID-19 not stolen the traditional Inaugural Balls from us. I have six more wishes for what could have been and I feel like these looks would definitely been given Best Dressed standards. Let’s dive in. Andra Day is gearing up for a promo tour for her upcoming film The United States vs. Billie Holiday and has been quite the activist in her own right. Her hit song “Rise Up” has become an anthem for pushing through. She took to the stage to perform on Monday for the “United We Serve: A Celebration of the National MLK Day of Service” coordinated by the Biden Inaugural Committee. So I would not have been surprised to see Andra rocking a major fashion moment in a Washington D.C. ballroom tonight at one of the inaugural balls had there been any. I’ve always loved how Andra gives very retro glam vibes on the red carpet, so I went into the archives of the king of retro glam: Zac Posen. While his label closed last year I would still love to see stars dig into the archives and wear so many of the amazing looks that have never been worn. For this occasion I would have loved to see Andra wearing this black silk faille off the shoulder ballgown from the Zac Posen Fall 2014 RTW collection. I love the structured bustier and the caped sleeves. It is very modern take on classic glamour, and I feel like Andra would have shut this gown down. Now I would take that black fur stole she is wearing in the reference photo on the left adding a retro updo with crystal pins, thick winged eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black Tom Ford ‘Disco’ platform ankle strap sandals, and a selection of major Amwaj jewels including white diamond pear shaped drop earrings, a white diamond pear cut collar necklace, and an abstract marquis cut white diamond ring to really make this look ooze glamour. Who was the most unexpected political pundit of 2020? It had to be Cardi B. She conducted interviews with Bernie Sanders during the primary (whom she was a very vocal supporter of) and then Joe Biden after he was the presumptive nominee. Cardi as a political face is actually something I love. So had she been invited to one of the inaugural balls I would have loved to see her show up and show out wearing an amazing look from a young black American based designer. I have been loving Ese Azenabor for a while now and I really do feel like this one sleeve a-line multicolor/patterned gown with a thigh high split and a dramatic train would have been a major moment for Cardi. It is the meshing of her flamboyant style, but a little on the reserved side. Reserved might not be the best phrase. It isn’t sheer. I think that’s what I’m more interested in. A high bubble ponytail, smokey eyes, deep mauve lips, major black Fenty ‘Ribbon Ropes’ crystal embellished satin strappy sandals, and dazzling ‘Cascata’ white diamond waterfall drop earrings from Cardi’s go to jeweler Gismondi 1754 would definitely have finished this look in a MAJOR manner. Debra Messing hosted “We the People” a pre-inauguration concert over the weekend and as a very vocal supporter of the Democratic Party I definitely would have loved to see her attend an inaugural ball. In these wishes you will see I dug into archives in spirit of both finding something “new” to talk about but also with the idea of sustainability in my mind. Debra has been friends with Christian Siriano for a long time and he has dressed her for so many red carpets it was an forgone conclusion that I would pick a gown from him for her. So I went shopping in his runway archives and found this burgundy silk strapless ball gown with a ruched bodice, dramatic bow hip detail, and a dramatic train from the Christian Siriano Fall 2010 RTW collection. I have to say that this was one of a few major gowns from this collections that were never worn on a red carpet. It is from one of Christian’s first post Project Runway era runway shows and before he became one of the biggest designers for the red carpet. I definitely feel like this color would be absolutely phenomenal on Debra and with a soft romantic updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of burgundy Christian Louboutin ‘Kate’ pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Norman Silverman diamonds including simple teardrop earrings and a delicate floral tennis necklace it would be perfection. Justin Timberlake will be performing tonight during the “Celebrate America” primetime special that is taking the place of the traditional inaugural balls. Regular readers will know I love when Justin and wife Jessica Biel take to a red carpet together. They know good fashion and always bring it. So I am disappointed that this moment has been stolen from us. Had there been a ball I would have expected these two to serve up glamour from head to toe starting with Justin wearing a perfectly tailored Tom Ford Fall 2020 RTW tuxedo which features a marbled black and white shawl lapel tuxedo jacket, straight leg silk trousers, a white shirt, and a big black bow tie. This is a classically cut tuxedo with a statement making twist and I know Justin would wear it well especially styled with a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male Flat’ velvet and striped suede millerighe slip on oxfords with a crystal toe cap and a Chopard ‘MillE MIGLIA LAB ONE CONCEPT’ watch. For Jessica I went for a classically glam Michael Kors look with a black fitted sleeveless gown with a plunging neckline and a short train from the Fall 2012 RTW collection. I am honestly surprised as I have been with all the archive looks in this wish list that this gown has never been worn before. It is that classically glamorous moment and I feel like whether it was worn then or now it would be a very chic and elegant moment. A sleek updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a black crystal embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Palmette’ clutch, a pair of black leather Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen 120’ ankle strap sandals, and dazzling Dena Kemp ‘ Brilliant Jewels’ collection white diamond paisley inspired drop earrings would ensure this look was glamour defined. Separately these looks are incredible, but together it would just prove once again that Justin and Jessica are indeed a red carpet power couple. Finishing out my wishes for my dream inaugural ball is talk show hostess Tamron Hall. I have long been fascinated with Tamron’s style. She is definitely the most extra of all the TV hosts and I love seeing her when she steps out. One of her last looks before lockdown was a major pink high low ruffled taffeta Oscar de la Renta gown at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards. It was one of her best looks to date. So when I was thinking of who I could put in Vera Wang in my Dream Inaugural Ball Wishes I thought that Tamron would be a great option to bring this deep burgundy one shoulder mermaid gown from the Vera Wang Spring 2013 Bridal collection out of the archive and give it a major red carpet moment. I know that Tamron has the diva-tude to really bring this gown to life on the red carpet. Her unique sense of style would be perfectly on display in this gown styled with a  chic spiky pixie style, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, black embellished lace mesh Christian Louboutin ‘Follies’ pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Sutra jewels including a pair of 18K blackened gold ‘Fireworks’ burst white diamond and deep ruby earrings and a white diamond ‘High Diamond’ bracelet.

2019 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 7

We are in the home stretch. Tomorrow night are the 2019 Grammy Awards and today are my last two set of wishes for tomorrow nights red carpet. I want to see everyone really deliver major moments, but I won’t lie to you the pre-Grammy parties red carpets have me worried. They have been uber tacky and filled with cheap looking, poorly constructed looks. I am hoping that just means that everyone is saving their a-game for tomorrow nights red carpets. Andra Day will take the stage tomorrow night at the Grammy awards with Fantasia and Yolanda Adams to pay tribute to the late Aretha Franklin and I am very excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet ahead of that performance. Her past Grammy red carpet looks have all been rather simple in style, and so this year I want to see Andra bring the drama. I know thanks to the Zac Posen gown she wore for the Oscars last year that Andra can really deliver a lot of drama on the red carpet. So I went shopping on the latest couture runways to find the perfect gown for her to bring to life. The moment I saw this ice grey Georges Hobeika Spring 2019 Couture long sleeve ballgown which features intricate beaded embroidery, sheer sleeves, a plunging neckline, a thigh high side split, feather trim, and a dramatic train I knew it was the perfect gown for Andra to wear on this red carpet. It has all the boxes ticked of details that Andra loves and so I think that with an intricate updo (maybe with some magnolias or white roses in her hair,) thick winged eyes, red lips, a pair of silver Christian Louboutin ‘Fetish Peep’ platform peep toe pumps, and very chic Hueb ‘Apus’ diamond cluster earrings that this would be the perfect moment for her. Ciara isn’t confirmed to attend tomorrow nights ceremony, but typically all the stars who end up performing or presenting at the Grammy tribute (typically taped two or three days after the live telecast) also attend the awards themselves. Since Ciara is confirmed to perform or present at the taping of Motown 60: A Grammy Celebration I would imagine that she will also be on the Grammy’s red carpet. She usually is even if she doesn’t have a responsibility and if she delivers a really major moment on the red carpet every time she does she can go right on ahead. I am going back to a wish I touched upon briefly in my Spring 2019 Couture week wishes with this buttery yellow Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2019 Couture portrait neckline mini dress which features a bubble hem, a ruched draped bodice and waist, and dramatic puffy sleeves. I immediately knew I wanted to see Ciara wearing this dress the moment I saw it. I didn’t know where I was going to get the opportunity to use it so I made sure that I put the idea out into the universe in my 20 Looks I Love post. When I heard her announced for the Motown special I knew that I had to take this opportunity to put this wish out there again, but this time with styling. I would add a sleek high pony, smokey eyes, soft dusty rose pink lips, a pair of gold Casadei ‘Blade Venus’ stiletto sandals, and a statement Bulgari ‘Andy Warhol’ diamond and mother of pearl collar necklace to really make this the major moment I know it can be for Ciara.Shawn Mendes knows how to deliver a chic moment on the red carpet. He usually gives us more of a casual suit on the red carpet, but I want to see the twice nominated musician give us more of a formal moment on the red carpet ahead of his performance. I definitely think that Shawn could give me a little bit of Justin Timberlake vibes wearing this Tom Ford tuxedo which features a metallic slate blue shawl lapel single button dinner jacket in leopard jacquard, a crisp white tuxedo shirt, and black slim fit tuxedo pants. It is a super sexy menswear moment and I definitely think that Shawn could sell it to me. I don’t know if I want him to wear a tied bow tie though. I might want to see him pair this tuxedo with onyx Mont Bland tuxedo studs, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Roadie’ chelsea style boots, and a bow tie undone with the top button undone to give smouldering end of the night sexy from the moment he steps onto the red carpet. Diana Ross is getting a special award tomorrow night at the Grammy Awards, and performing, and I would bet you that we will see her extremely fashionable daughter Tracee Ellis Ross on the red carpet to support her. The two are incredibly close and whenever Diana attends you can usually expect Tracee not to be too far behind. While she isn’t presenting I would imagine that Tracee will still deliver an absolutely major fashion moment on the red carpet. I went searching in the latest couture collections and when I saw this white Ashi Studio Spring 2019 Couture collection ensemble which features a strapless flowing gown with intricate embroidery on the bodice paired with a dramatic white feathered opera coat I knew it would be a really major moment for Tracee to rock on this red carpet. She knows how to really sell a look on the red carpet and I know that that she would take this look to a whole other level. I think she would pair this gown with a full bouncy afro curls, smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of silver Christian Louboutin ‘Twistissima’ crystal embellished pointed toe strappy pumps, and statement diamond and emerald Butani wreath earrings to really ensure she delivers this moment on this red carpet.

The 2019 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday February 10, 2019.

2018 Academy Awards: Performers Red Carpet Wish List

Sunday night might be about the movies, but there are going to be a plethora of music performances as well. Each song nominated for Best Original Song will be performed by their artists and I am really excited to see how some of these stars will bring to the red carpet. Each one of the stars who will be performing have two wishes. One for the red carpet, and then one to wear for their performances. I envision grand staged performances for some number and some I just picture being done very simply. Andra Day is the main artist on the Best Original Song nominated track “Stand Up For Something” from Marshall. She has this distinctive 40’s meets 60’s meets 80’s style and I honestly am really interested in seeing what she is going to be wearing on the red carpet this Sunday. This is the first time that Andra will be performing on the Oscars telecast, but she has previously performed for the Academy Governor’s Ball after party in 2016. By her standard the look that she wore that year was very tame. This year I really want to see Andra give her all. For the red carpet I went for a very 60’s Palm Springs hostess vibe with this black Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2018 column gown which features a dramatic chiffon caftan like cape and beaded embellishments on the neckline. I definitely think that this is out of the standard very sexy gowns and dresses that Andra usually wears, but I think would be perfect for the Oscars red carpet especially when paired with a black and gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Monarch’ crystal embellished butterfly clutch held by the chain, a pair of black Rene Caovilla gold crystal embellished suede platform sandals, a big 60’s inspired updo, dramatic smokey eyes with winged liner, dark red lips, and a pair of rose gold set Jacob & Co. diamond chandelier earrings. For the performance I upped the drama. I picture Andra standing on a dry ice smoke covered stage with bright light beams framing her and a vintage microphone belting her tune and I think that this black Ziad Nakad Fall 2017 Couture velvet gown which features a plunging neck, long sleeves, sheer details with floral embroidery, a full ball skirt, and a feathered hem would just add to the drama. I know that the way Andra’s hair is that it would take a lot to swap the hairstyles. So I would keep that 60’s inspired updo and the thick lined smokey eyes. I would swap the rest of the styling for bold bright red lips, a pair of black and blue Rene Caovilla two-tone crystal back ankle wrap pumps, and a crazy collection of Jacob & Co. jewels including a pair of art deco inspired diamond drop earrings, a statement art deco inspired diamond necklace, and four diamond and sapphire rings (one, two, three, and four) to really ensure that this is a really stand out stage look for Andra.Common is also one of the artists on “Stand Up For Something” and the former Best Original Song winner will join Andra on the Oscars stage Sunday night to perform the track. For the red carpet I went for classic with a twist with a black Givenchy Spring 2018 Menswear tuxedo which features beaded embellishments on the shawl lapel. Common is one of those guys who I know will bring a really chic look on the red carpet Sunday night. Bring the fashion factor to menswear on what will most likely be a sea of standard tuxedos. The beaded embellishments really elevate this look. I would keep the rest of the look pretty classic with a crisp white shirt, black bow tie, and a pair of subtle statement shoes via black Christian Louboutin ‘Casano Flat’ 3D rose embellished slippers to really turn this into a really statement making menswear moment on the Oscars red carpet. For his portion of the performance I would have Common swap jackets with the same style in a red micro floral print blazer with the same beaded shawl lapel detail but keep the black pants, white shirt, and black bow tie from the red carpet look. I would also swap the 3D rose loafers for a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Dandelion’ glitter flecked leather loafers to make sure that Common has a great red carpet and performance moment on Sunday night.Friends of mine will know that despite the fact I haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet I am completely obsessed with the soundtrack and “This Is Me” is my favorite to take home the Best Original Song trophy on Sunday night. I am really interested in seeing what the songs performer Keala Settle will bring to the Oscars red carpet. She delivered dramatic glamour in teal and black Christian Siriano at the Golden Globe Awards, and it has be really excited for what she will wear this weekend. For the red carpet I went for simple peasant style and bold color with this neon pink Sachin + Babi Pre-Fall 2018 long balloon sleeve gown which features a chest cutout, ruby red beaded embroidery on the neck and cuff, a center split, and a dramatic train. I definitely think that this gown would be a really bold statement for Keala to make on her first Oscars red carpet and I would keep the styling rather simple with a chic updo, kohl rimmed eyes, nude lips, and a pair of hot pink Miu Miu multicolored jeweled satin pumps. For her performance of “This Is Me” I would stage Keala center stage with black, white, and burgundy fabric draped to evoke a circus tent, a selection of crystal chandeliers at multiple varried levels with a full choir behind her. But most importantly I would style her in this ocean blue Christian Siriano Fall 2018 RTW draped a-ling gown which features a chiffon cape. I feel like this gown is is the perfect stage look for Keala to perform this bold ballad in. I would mic Keala with a hidden microphone adding Christian Louboutin ‘Degrastrass’ pumps in clear vinyl and silver leather with degrade Swarovski crystals, vintage inspired waves, the same makeup as the red carpet, and a pair of L’Dezen by Payal Shah white and blue diamond butterfly earrings to really make this the totally major performance moment for a totally major song. Mary J. Blige only has one wish on today’s set because I featured her red carpet gown with the Best Supporting Actress nominees since she is nominated in both categories. She is performing her nominated song “Mighty River” on Sunday night and I have to say it might be my second choice to win behind “This Is Me.” I thought long and hard about how I would stage this song for the Oscars stage and ultimately I thought that a set of wooden plank houses (evocative of the homes in Mudbound) with a world of twinkling stars around her would be perfect and this black liquid sequin Michael Kors Fall 2018 RTW column gown which features a turtleneck, balloon sleeves, and a maxi length would compliment that set perfectly. A sleek hairstyle, smokey eyes, red lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ embellished pumps, and a pair of black diamond and white pearl deGrisogono chandelier earrings all would add the perfect finishing touches to this Oscars stage ready ensemble. R&B star Miguel will attend his first Academy Awards on Sunday night to perform “Remember Me” from Coco. I have to say while the song is cute I feel like its the least likely to take home the trophy but I do know that the performance will probably be fun. For the red carpet I went for a modern take on tuxedo dress with a black velvet Balmain Fall 2018 Menswear tuxedo which features a wide satin lapel blazer with no button covered in crystals and a matching crystal embellished t-shirt paired with a plain black velvet skinny pants. This is definitely not your average Oscars suit, and on most I would totally say “cool look, wrong carpet,” but I think that Miguel would be the only one who could make this look come to life for me. For the performance, which I picture being staged like an old Mexican city decorated for El Día de los Muertos, I went on a hunt from Balmain for a jacket that reminded me of a high fashion interpretation of a Mariachi style. I found this black and gold beaded jacket and I was immediately sold. I feel like with a crisp white shirt, maybe a bolo tie, black skinny pants, and a pair of black boots that this would be a great moment for Miguel’s Oscars performance. Natalia Lafourcade is a Mexican pop-rock singer and songwriter who since her debut in 2003 has been one of the most successful singers in the pop rock scene in Latin America and will join Miguel to perform “Remember Me” on Sunday night. For the biggest night in Hollywood I went to Marchesa to pick the perfect looks for Natalia to wear on the Oscars red carpet and stage. For the red carpet I picked this black Marchesa velvet gown which features an off the shoulder neckline, multi-tone pink 3D floral applique, and a slit at the skirt. This is a really chic moment and I definitely think that Natalia would be able to sell this gown on the Oscars red carpet. Style it with a romantic updo, defined eyes, antique rose lips, a black and gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Skull Bela Lugosi’ crystal evening clutch, black and gold Rene Caovilla crystal studded satin strappy sandals, and a pair of rust colored tourmaline Irene Neuwirth drop earrings to really ensure perfection. For the performance I also looked to traditional Mexican dress as the inspiration, but with a high fashion touch. It was this black Marchesa Fall 2018 RTW floral embroidered gown which features an off the shoulder neckline, bow details on the sleeves, a high low hem, 3D floral applique, and a slit at the skirt that made me even think of Marchesa for Natalia at all. I saw this gown and thought it would be the perfect gown for her to wear for her Oscars performance. Keeping the red carpet beauty adding a pair of gold Sophia Webster ‘Lilico’ crystal floral ankle wrap sandals and a pair of faceted ruby and diamond Irene Neuwirth teardrop pendant earrings would ensure two head to toe perfect looks.

The 2018 Academy Awards are Sunday March 4, 2018!

2018 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

Did I mention that I am going to be posting two Oscar party wish lists a day? After posting 15 wish lists last year (with more stars in general, more stars in each individual list, and sometimes 3 wish lists a day) I had told myself that I wasn’t going to do more than 10 this year. Well that didn’t happen. I had a hard time narrowing down all the stars I felt like could be guests at this years Oscar parties so I have 95 ladies that I have spread over 19 wish lists, but I limited each post to just five stars. No other night, except for maybe the Met Gala, compares to Oscar night. We can see upwards of 200+ looks on all of the red carpets. From the main telecast to the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party to the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party we will have all kinds of stars all over each of these red carpets and they build up fast. It makes for one of the most glamorous nights of the year. What makes the parties even more glamorous is that especially at the Vanity Fair party we see stars who were nominated and presenters at the main telecast swap the gown the wore for the ceremony for something else for the parties. Andra Day will be performing her Oscar nominated song Stand Up For Something” at the Academy Awards and with her dramatic style I am really excited to see what Hollywood’s biggest night. I want to see Andra on the Vanity Fair party red carpet following the Oscars wearing this medium red Zac Posen evening gown in silk faille which features sweetheart neckline, a sleeveless bodice, flap details at shoulders, mermaid silhouette, and a floor-sweeping hem. I feel like Andra and Zac are a match made in style heaven. They both have a flair for the dramatic and classic glamour and this gown would definitely deliver that. Sleek victory rolls, dramatic winged eyeliner, a bold red lip, gold Christian Louboutin ‘Artydiva’ platform bow detail sandals, and a pair of IVY New York ‘Windrose’ rhodolite garnet and diamond earrings all would ensure that this gown is absolutely perfect for the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Continuing the tradition of the previous years winners returning to the Oscars stage to present the following year and that will include last years Best Actress winner Emma Stone. I HATE the fact that Emma inked a Louis Vuitton contract, and I am praying that she will deliver really major moments on the red carpets on Oscar night. I am shunning the brand even though I know at least one of those gowns will be custom Louis Vuitton. For the Vanity Fair party I went short with this rose red Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 RTW cocktail dress which features a sweetheart neck bustier, thin straps, and feather detailing on the a-line skirt. Usually when Emma is at the main Oscars she goes short for the Vanity Fair red carpet. This is a sexy and romantic moment and I definitely think that it would be a refreshing change of pace to what we have seen from Emma recently. Keep it glam with chic old Hollywood waves, a defined eye, red lips, red Gianvito Rossi ‘Manhattan’ strappy patent leather sandals, and a pair of ruby and diamond Van Cleef & Arpels stud earrings. Kate Hudson has served some looks on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in the past wearing the likes of Atelier Versace, Roberto Cavalli Couture, Maria Lucia Hohan, and Zuhair Murad Couture. I am expecting great things from her this year because I love short hair Kate. She is edgy, sexy, and glamorous and I think that she would rock the hell out of the red carpet wearing this champagne beaded Julien Macdonald Spring 2018 RTW gown which features long sleeves, cutouts that will show Kate’s abs off fabulously, and a column skirt. This is a really sexy and glam moment that I know only a few could make work without it looking trashy or desperate, but I know that Kate would sell it to me. Add a pair of nude Rene Caovilla crystal studded platform sandals, a simple defined eye, rose pink lips, and a pair of Chopard Red Carpet Collection pear shaped diamond waterfall earrings to ensure perfection. Nina Dobrev is usually on the red carpet for at least one of the Oscar night parties be it Elton John or Vanity Fair. I always love seeing her on the red carpets, and I cannot wait to see what her look will be this year. Past years Nina has worn Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Naeem Khan, J. Mendel, and Reem Acra. From custom, to off the rack, to couture, to right off the runway the lewks that Nina has served have all been very beautiful, but she hasn’t made one of my after party best dressed lists. I would love to see her serve a really major lewk that could rival those of regular features like Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, and Kate Bosworth. This black Elie Saab Spring 2018 Couture gown which features a feathered neckline, halter neck, gold feather inspired beaded embroidery, and an a-line layered tulle skirt is definitely something I thank would put Nina on the Best Dressed list. The competition to make a top 10 list on an Oscar night red carpet is fierce, but I think that knowing how good Nina can work a dramatic gown that she would definitely sell this gown to me. A gold Edie Parker ‘Jean’ lizard framed clutch, gold Christian Louboutin ‘Very Rete’ peep toe mesh pumps, smokey eyes, red lips, and a pair of 18k gold Miseno ‘Ventaglio’ diamond disc earrings all would ensure that this is a really amazing moment for Nina. It was at last years Oscars where we got out first glimpse of what Sofia Carson could bring to the red carpet when she stepped onto the the red carpet at the Dolby Theater giving us Disney princess wearing a beautiful Monique Lhuillier ball gown. Since then Sofia has been given moments in designers like Giambattista Valli Couture, Elie Saab, and Christian Dior. I would love to entrust Sofia with my favorite moment from the Christian Dior Spring 2018 Couture collection. I would love to see Sofia take this white domino printed draped gown, but I would want to see her have it lined. I don’t think sheer gowns are really Sofia’s thing, but the shape and this print is something that I think that Sofia could definitely make work. I would let the gown be the statement of this look styling it with a pair of simple black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, a sleek low bun, thick lined eyes, red lips, and a pair of Djula ‘Beverly Hills’ earrings.

Oscar Night 2018 will take place on Sunday March 6, 2018.

10 Best Looks from the 2018 Grammy Awards

As been the tradition I am just going to give a quick rundown paragraph and let the looks on the list speak for themselves. Overall I was really disappointed in this years Grammy Awards red carpet. I feel like every year I set my expectations really high and my dreams get crushed. Aside from a few really great moments I was overall rather bored with what was brought to the Grammy Awards red carpet last night. Lady Gaga was GORGEOUS the whole night long. Miley Cyrus gave me the biggest surprise when she showed up on the Grammy Awards stage wearing a glamorous Zac Posen gown. Check out all my favorite looks from this years red carpet and stage. 1) Lady Gaga in Armani Prive 2) Miley Cyrus in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2018

3) Chrissy Teigan in Yanina Couture

4) Eve in Naeem Khan Fall 2017 RTW 5) Hailee Steinfeld in Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2018 RTW

6) Rihanna in custom Adam Selman

7) Lady Gaga in Armani Prive 8) Andra Day in custom Victoria Hayes

9) Rita Ora in Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture

10) Pink in Armani Prive Fall 2015 Couture

What do you think? Which were your favorites? Anything from last night that I didn’t put on this list?
