The SAG Awards broadcast is this weekend. I say broadcast because I am sure that the Screen Actors Guild has already started bringing their presenters and nominees together to record their sections as this years show will be pre-recorded and broadcast with a 1 hour television special. I am not sure how they are going to condense the whole show into just one hour, but I am sure there will be a way for them to do it. I’ve been ruminating on my wishes for this event for a while. It actually put me in a bit of a funk. I was originally going to start these as soon as I was done with my Grammy’s wishes, but because of the circumstances I just wasn’t feeling inspired. In fact until this past weekend when I finally finished putting the wishes together I was still uninspired. I will not be detailing out everyone. I have just decided that I don’t have that in me right now, but I have a couple days of detailed wishes that will culminate in a big round up style post for everyone else. I picked the stars featured in my detailed wishes based on who I was able to easily pick a look for and who I know has been turning out looks during our virtual awards season. 
Kicking things off is Amy Adams whom earned a surprise nomination this awards season for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Movie thanks to her role as Beverly “Bev” Vance in Hillbilly Elegy. I’ve always loved Amy and her style, but in more recent years her looks have missed the mark for me. We haven’t seen her show a fashion look since Emmy night 2019 where she wore a hideous Fendi Couture gown. I want to see her give us GLAMOUR this weekend for the SAG Awards and I know it would be a perfect moment to see her wearing this black Oscar de la Renta Fall 2021 RTW crystal embroidered halter neck column gown which features a draped bodice and keyhole bodice cutout. It is classically glamorous and I think that it would be a great moment for Amy to bring to life for the SAG Awards. I would then take this classic gown and style it with a sleek retro glam updo, thick defined soft smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black satin Tom Form ‘TF 105’ slingback pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Cartier jewels including intricate vintage white diamond chandelier earrings and a statement ‘L’Odyssée de Cartier’ white diamond cuff bracelet to really make this look scream glamour from head to toe. 
Over the course of this major winning awards season Catherine O’Hara has given more understand glam looks with a custom Vera Wang suit at the Golden Globes and a black Elie Saab ruffled cocktail dress for the Critics Choice Awards. For this weekends SAG Awards I would really love to see Catherine finish out the awards run for Schitt’s Creek giving us a bit of razzle dazzle wearing this black, gold, and white art deco inspired Elie Saab Spring 2018 Couture long sleeve column gown. I am SHOCKED that no one has worn this gown yet. I would have figured Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Nadine Labaki, or Jane Fonda would have fought over this dress. Three years later we are still waiting to see it have a red carpet moment. I feel like it is totally in tune with Catherine’s chic and sophisticated sense of style and it would make sure that she sends Schitt’s Creek off in HIGH glam style. I feel like her soft wave center parted and worn down, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black satin Roger Vivier gold metal crystal buckle platform chunky heel strappy sandals, and simple elegant IVY New York red spinel and white diamond drop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. 
Emma Corrin has been serving LEWKS this awards season. She collected her Golden Globe wearing custom clown inspired Miu Miu and then went for bold 80’s inspired style with a Schiaparelli mini dress for the Critics Choice Awards. Her style has been top notch and I am sad her tenure with the cast of The Crown is coming to an end. After her wins this year I would say that her portrayal of Princess Diana has her as the favorite to take home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series trophy this year. I went for edgy glam with this silver and black Armani Prive Spring 2021 Couture sleeveless tea length gown with a halter neck vest and a spaghetti strap slip dress for Emma. Now I would ditch the belt from the runway and style this dress with her edgy cropped hairstyle, navy blue glitter Pat McGrath Labs ‘Dark Star’ smokey eyes, soft pink lips, strappy black Awge x Amina Muaddi ‘Isd Gladi’ thigh high crystal embellished sandals, and a selection of Messika jewels including asymmetrical white diamond wing cluster earrings and a white diamond fringe cuff bracelet to make sure this look is in line with Emma’s bold edgy glam style.
Helen Mirren is one of the announced presenters for this weekend’s show. I have always loved seeing Helen on a red carpet and I cannot wait to see what look she will turn. She isn’t afraid of giving bold glamour on a red carpet and as I am working planning out the rest of awards season and headed into events like Cannes I cannot wait for Helen to serve more and more looks again. I was saving images from the Fall 2021 RTW collections when I saw this hot pink Tony Ward long sleeve a-line gown which features intricate beading on the bodice and sleeves, a jagged drop waist, and a tulle skirt. I immediately thought of Helen when I saw this gown and when I saw she was presenting at the SAG Awards I immediately thought of this gown. It’s such a bold statement moment and I know that Helen would be able to sell it to me easily especially with a sophisticated side parted hairstyle, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of hot pink Alexandre Vauthier crystal toe cap PVC sling back pointed toe pumps, and a bit more sparkle via white diamond Chopard ‘Precious’ collection white diamond cluster earrings. 
Finishing out today is Vanessa Kirby who has given some simple yet very chic looks this awards season wearing a simple black Gucci halter gown for the Globes and a red lace Saint Laurent gown for the Critics Choice Awards. I have definitely been paying attention to Vanessa and I am praying that she brings major looks to her final stops on the awards season circuit. She knows how to do major tailoring moments so I knew pretty immediately that I wanted to do this black and white Alexander McQueen Resort 2021 RTW tuxedo inspired ensemble for her to rock for the SAG Awards. I love this look which consists of a classic white button down shirt and a pair of black high waisted slim fit trousers with a major bow peplum detail. It is simple, sophisticated, and classic but in a way that SCREAMS drama. I mean can a look be classic and statement making at the same time? Because I definitely think that this look is exactly that. While Vanessa has a very no muss no fuss sense of style I think that the bow detail is within her wheelhouse. I think a sleek down hairstyle tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black crystal embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Loubiloo Bling Bang’ twist strap ankle strap sandals, and Bulgari ‘Barroko’ collection white diamond and ruby bunting cluster drop earrings would ensure this look fit’s in perfectly with Vanessa’s red carpet vibe.

Kicking things off is Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan whose performance in the film was absolutely phenomenal. I would definitely consider her a top tier candidate to take home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama trophy this year. With stars that are expected at multiple big events over the course of the year I tend to make a plan. I know all of Carey’s go to designers. Dior, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Erdem are all labels she is known to wear, and I was thinking about looking at looks for her I am definitely considering moments from all of them. I’ve already done Chanel and have Armani & Prada in the queue for other upcoming wishes so I turned to Dior for the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. I don’t know what it was about this fluffy nude pink Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture strapless ballgown which features pressed flower inspired detail on the bodice and a ruffled tulle skirt that spoke to me for Carey, but it does. She doesn’t go for big ball gowns for the red carpet, but I really want to see her go BIG or go home with her looks for the 2021 Awards Season. It is a bold take on bohemian glamour and is one of the few Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri looks I actually want to see on a red carpet. It honestly surprises me that it hasn’t been worn yet. Emerald Fennell is the breakout director of Promising Young Woman and one of the record THREE women nominated for this years Best Director award. I have to say that while the preview did not make this movie look good to me I absolutely LOVED this movie and what Emerald did with it. She’s also nominated for Best Original Screenplay so I really want to see her show up and deliver a super chic moment on the red carpet. I don’t know if it was just subconscious but I was drawn to this emerald lamé Andrew Gn Fall 2021 RTW long sleeve pleated gown which features a very intricate crystal necklace embroidered into the neckline. Glenn Close always knows how to deliver chic moments on the red carpet and when I saw her name on the list of nominees for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture thanks to her role in Hillbilly Elegy I was very excited. I wanted the right person to wear this burgundy Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2021 floral crystal embroidered stretch crepe gown which feature long sleeves a caped back, and dramatic train to be nominated and when Glenn’s name was called I knew immediately that this was going to be my wish for her. When it comes to fashion Jodie isn’t someone who is going to push boundaries. I would love to see Jodie who loves herself a good suit wearing this silver diamond pattern embroidered silk Armani Prive Spring 2021 Couture tuxedo with wide lapels, a crystal button, tapered trousers, and a black vest style blouse. History has already been made at the 2021 Golden Globes just thanks to the nominees in the Best Director category. This year a record 3 women are nominated and two of them are women of color. Chloe Zhao is one of them. She has been lauded since the film made its debut in Venice where it won 3 awards including the Best Picture award. So I am definitely keeping my eyes on her as one to watch this awards season. As I was looking at her past red carpet appearances it seems like Chloe avoids black tie events and really just rocks very comfy and casual looks for photo lines. It makes sense she is more behind the scenes thank in front of the camera glam. But with a possible run to Oscar gold ahead of her I have some superb options in mind to push her through awards season this year starting with this color blocked gold, gunmetal, and bronze sequin Tom Ford Spring 2015 RTW long sleeve column gown. It is definitely going to push Chloe’s comfort zone, but I do think it would be a really cool and glamorous moment for the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. I would say that this awards season has to be exactly what Frances McDormand dreams of. Even when she made the winning awards season run for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri she never made an actual appearance on any of the red carpets including the Oscars. In fact the only red carpet I feel like she’s actually stopped to pose for in recent years is when she was a guest of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s at the 2018 Met Gala. Regular readers will know that I always LOVE to see Elle Fanning on a red carpet and I am praying that she will go all out for her first Globes nomination even if she does join the telecast remotely. Nicholas Hoult is a man that can give very chic menswear moments. So I would absolutely love to see him give a superb moment at the Golden Globe Awards where he has also earned his first nomination. Last up today is an emerging star who is quickly becoming one of the best Chanel ambassadors. It was in the lead up to the Emmy’s we first saw Shira Haas wearing some Chanel looks for virtual appearances to promote Unorthodox. Then she was one of the few in a couture gown for the Emmy’s. All of these looks came courtesy of Chanel. So I have a hard time believing that she would be wearing anything other than Chanel for this years Golden Globe Awards. Since 1962 Jane Fonda has been nominated for 15 Golden Globe Awards and has won seven. This year the icon will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award. This award is given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Associations Board of Governors for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”. We can definitely say that Jane has done that from her role in Barbarella to Grace and Frankie. She has been a force on the screen for almost sixty years. I am very interested in what Jane may wear for this occasion. I appreciate that Venice decided to add One Night in Miami and The Human Voice to the selection. It allowed me to add wishes for Cate Blanchett that I felt I was missing. I really wanted to include an Alexander McQueen look for Cate to wear in Venice. I always love when she bring the avant garde labels creations to life on the red carpet. In keeping with Cate’s more sustainable approach to fashion I’ve been including several archive moments I would love to see her bring out and give red carpet moments. When I was adding another star who I would love to see rock the red carpet in Venice to represent Armani I really wanted make a statement so I decided to go with Zendaya. We’ve seen Zendaya front row at the Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture presentation as well as wearing the label for the Spider-Man: Far From Home premiere. So I would LOVE to see Zendaya on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival rocking two MAJOR gowns from the brands archive starting with this hot pink Armani Prive Fall 2007 Couture strapless high low bustier ballgown which features a bow layered ball skirt with black lining. To me this is the Zendaya style version of the iconic Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Marilyn Monroe gown.
