2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

We are getting closer and closer to this years Grammy Awards and I am still incredibly excited to see what will happen. From the live and in person performers to the nominees who might join the show from home. Now I will say that I’ve learned that in place of various celebrity presenters introducing the categories the Grammy’s are going to be paying tribute to the independent music venues who have been impacted greatly by the pandemic having staff from these venues present the various categories throughout the night. So I really want to see some major fashion moments from the stars who are appearing live performing and the nominees. The eight women in today’s wishes can bring the glam. So let’s get to the wishes shall we?Chloe x Halle have 3 Grammy nominations this year and I would love to see the duo serve us a LOOK for the “red carpet.” The sister duo is always a favorite to see on the red carpet and I really want to see them SHUT IT DOWN for their first ever Grammy nominations. I would love to see them rock some glamorous moments from Christian Siriano this year. I wouldn’t normally go for Siriano since these two can serve up some major moments from some of the top avant garde designers, but as I was on the hunt I saw the gown I want to see Chloe Baily bring to life and I was changed completely. I fell in love with the idea of her wearing this black Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2021 two piece gown with a cross strap bralet and a high waisted tulle ball skirt and I couldn’t shake the idea of her wearing this look even when I was looking at all the new collections coming out of Paris and the recent couture shows. I think that she would be able to sell this sexy, dramatic, and glamorous moment perfectly especially if styled with an avant garde updo of braids, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Illimiboot Strass 100’ crystal embellished mesh peep toe booties, and dazzling white diamond David Morris ‘Cherry Blossom’ round floral cluster earrings. Now for a chic complimentary moment I would absolutely love to see Halle Bailey rock this black silk Christian Siriano Fall 2020 off the shoulder mini dress which features intricate silver star embellishments, chain detail, and long puffy sleeves. I usually pick two looks from the same collection for these sisters, but I feel like this is a better choice. It compliments the big ball gown for Chloe, but in a way that allows for both to stand on their own in addition to standing together beautifully. I would style this dress with a pair of simple black mesh Christian Louboutin ‘Mariacar 120’ crisscross strap peep toe platform pumps, and dazzling white diamond David Morris ‘Illusion’ 5 row feather inspired drop earrings to make this look beautiful for Halle. Together this would be a major fashion moment for the duo to rock Instaglam for the Grammy Awards.Alana Haim, Este Haim, and Danielle Haim AKA just as HAIM are true fashionistas. They have rocked major complimentary moments from Chanel, Dior, Rodarte, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Versace, and Acne Studios on red carpets over the last several years. They love fashion and they aren’t afraid to rock avant garde looks on the red carpet. So when I was thinking about who I want to dress the sister group nominated for two Grammy’s including Album of the Year and who are performing I immediately thought of the cool girl brand of the moment Bottega Veneta by Daniel Lee. I’ve been obsessed with the Bottega Veneta Resort 2021 collection since it was first presented and I know that in a world where there are red carpets that stars would have been all over it. I picked three looks from the collection that work together perfectly to make for the perfect looks for these sisters to rock on the Grammy’s red carpet starting with a black corseted mini dress for Alana Haim, but I would want to see it customized into a floor length column gown. It would be a sleek and sexy yet classic moment and I feel that would be perfect for Alana especially styled with soft center parted waves tucked behind the ears, soft nude smokey eyes, taupe lips, black Bottega Veneta leather mesh gold chain detailed square toe pumps, and a selection of Anita Ko jewels including yellow gold set ‘Maya’ white diamond drop earrings, a yellow gold set baguette cute white diamond coil bracelet, a yellow gold link ‘Zoe’ bracelet, and another ‘Zoe’ bracelet inlaid with white diamonds. Moving to Este, the tallest of the sisters, I though that she would look gorgeous wearing this black silk halter gown which features a bandana scarf detail on the neck. It is sleek and sexy with a nod to the 90’s and the soft shine would make it a super chic fashion moment. A sleek side parted low bun, defined eyes, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of strappy black leather Bottega Veneta square toe ankle strap sandals, and a bit of sparkle via yellow gold set white diamond Anita Ko ‘Rope’ drop earrings would make this a super glamorous moment. Finally for Danielle Haim I added a pop of color to the group with this dusty mauve tiered knotted jersey fringe dress with a halter neckline that I would love to see also lengthened into a custom floor length gown which I would style with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, deep taupe lips, lilac Bottega Veneta ‘BV Curve’ woven leather two strap mule sandals, and a pair of yellow gold set Anita Ko ‘Snowflake’ white diamond cluster earrings. All in all this would make for a MAJOR fashion moment for the HAIM sister. After rocking what I imagine is either rented or purchased Tom Ford for the CMA Awards last fall I decided that I would turn to the brand once again for Best New Artist (and 2 more) Granny nominee Ingrid Andress. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her and I would love to see her literally shine bright wearing this silver Tom Ford silver sequin embroidered one shoulder gown with a sexy asymmetric silver chain collar and a side split for the Grammy’s red carpet. This is definitely a moment and I feel it in my soul that Ingrid would definitely be able to sell this moment to me effortlessly. Now I would swap up her CMA’s beauty look keeping those bold defined eyes, but styling the hair in a sleek updo and adding bold matte blood red lips to make the beauty vibe match the vibe of the gown. With a pair of black Tom Ford ‘Disco’ sculpted heel platform sandals and simple white gold Nikos Koulis ‘Universe Line’ geometric drop earrings with white diamonds in translucent enamel this look would scream dazzling glamour from head to toe. Following Ingrid who is a rising country music diva to a long reigning queen of modern country music Miranda Lambert. I can’t say that Miranda is one of my favorite red carpet stars, but when she gets it right she gets it right. I almost loved the Alex Perry look she wore for the CMA awards had there been better hair and makeup. For the Grammy’s where she is nominated for 3 gold gramophones and will be performing I went with a major color moment thanks to this bold emerald green Rasario Fall 2020 RTW draped one shoulder gown with a sexy split and a very small train. I feel like this color moment with a sleek updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, an emerald green Serpui ‘Mirela’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of MAJOR emerald green satin Mach & Mach white crystal embellished double bow rope detailed pointed toe ankle strap pumps, and a bit of sparkle thanks to white diamond and emerald Kwiat chandelier earrings with three pear shaped drops would make this look perfect.  Poppy is nominated for Best Metal Performance and will be performing at the non televised Grammy Premiere ceremony, so I want to see her serve a look. She has always given very avant garde moments on the red carpet that go from sweet to edgy and I want to see her continue to give a major fashion moment So I turned to this white Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 Couture mini dress which features a dramatic asymmetrical taffeta bow for her. I just feel like Poppy would be the perfect person to bring this look to life. She has has the stature to really make this look come to life. To really make this a perfect red carpet look I would love to see Poppy style it with a sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, crazy high white Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Tarifa’ platform peep toe ankle strap sandals, and a selection of MAJOR Yeprem jewels including a singe total surround white diamond ‘Chevalier’ earcuff and a matching white diamond whole hand ‘Chevalier’ hand piece worn on opposite sides of the body.

The 2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS Sunday March 14, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2020 E! People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

Tonight is the night! I am really excited to see what everyone is going to bring. There was still a fantastic list of stars who are nominated, presenting, and performing tonight. So I decided to finish up my wishes with a round-up of everyone left. While I enjoy detailing out my thought process in picking my wishes there just wasn’t enough time to write about everyone. There are definitely some absolutely major fashion moments I want to see on this red carpet tonight out of these wishes. While I know we can expect to see Alison Brie, Armie Hammer, Christina Hendricks, and Justin Beiber tonight I don’t know who else we can expect to see that I’ve featured in this list. But as I’ve said multiple times this year it’s better to dream in glamour than drown in the fear of what is going on in the world.

The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards will take place TONIGHT November 15, 2020 and you can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2020 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List

Well, I was SWAMPED with my actual job lately and I’ve been neglecting If I Was A Stylist as a result. That means that even though I had 14 posts planned for the 2020 Emmy Awards, which take place tonight, all I was able to do is this all in gallery for the nominees, presenters, and cast members of nominated projects. I am really interested to see how the Emmy’s will work from home with production kits sent to over 130 different locations. How will the fashion fare? We saw the fashion factor happen for the VMA’s and then Venice Film Festival actually happened in person and I was THRILLED. So in my wishes for this years event I’ve pulled looks hot off the runway this past week during NYFW, things shown seasons ago, as well as several looks I would love to see stars pull out of their archives and give another go. So check out my 54 wishes below and let me know which ones you would most like to see come true.

2020 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

Today’s wishes are about the men who are nominated and performing at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. I am really interested in seeing what this award show will turn out to be. When it comes to major menswear moments the men of music know how to live up to my life motto of “When In Doubt Be Extra.” So when I was picking menswear moments for the VMA’s I got to have a lot of fun going for real avant garde fashion moments for the men below to bring to life. A$AP Rocky is known for bringing the fashion factor to the red carpet. He has favored Dior Homme since Kim Jones took the helm, but instead I went to another super hyped brand for him to wear for the VMAs. I LOVE this black and chocolate brown Bottega Veneta Fall 2020 collection ensemble which features a dancing shadow sheer knit button down long sleeve top, a pair of high waisted straight leg pants, and a cummerbund. It isn’t a look for the faint of heart and I think that A$AP Rocky would definitely be able to sell it to me with ease for the VMAs. Harry Styles is a Gucci devotee. I live that Harry, especially as a a straight man, wants to blur the lines of gender on the red carpet. Unfortunately it often doesn’t work and he ends up looking like a grandma in ill-fitting clothing. Had there been a red carpet for this years VMAs I would have LOVED to see Harry rock this peach and bright floral printed Gucci Resort 2021 Menswear suit which features a box cut double breasted jacket, flared wide leg trousers, and a beige pussy bow blouse. It is definitely right up Harry’s sense of style and I feel like we will definitely see him bring this look to life at some point. His tousled waves and a pair of oatmeal leather Gucci horsebit leather loafers would finish this look perfectly. John Legend is nominated in two new categories at the VMA’s. He could take home the Moonperson for Best Music Video from Home and/or Best Quarantine Performance. Now with his awards being taken from the Pandemic performance shift I would imagine that if John won anything that he will accept it from home super casual. It’s a shame because I always love seeing him and wife Chrissy Teigan rocking a red carpet. So of course I had to pick two looks for the couple as if there were going to be a red carpet. For John I would have loved to see him rock this Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh Resort 2021 Menswear suit which features a grey single button blazer with an asymmetrical band detail on the waist and a pair of slim fit black trousers. Now I would have switched up the styling a bit instead styling it with a crisp white shirt, a black bow tie, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Met Greggo’ glitter, patent, and velvet silver heeled cap toe oxfords. Now for Chrissy, who recently announced that she was pregnant, I went with fun glamour opting for this black and silver beaded fringe covered Azzaro Fall 2019 Couture halter gown which features a loose fit and a side split. This gown would be a super glam maternity moment and I feel like Chrissy would definitely be able to sell it to me giving a bit of a twist and twirl to really work that fringe to it’s full potential. A sleek updo, smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ crystal embellished mesh pointed toe pumps, and dazzling white diamond Butani chandelier earrings would definitely make sure this couple, as usual, would have delivered glamour on the VMA’s red carpet. I love Maluma. He is always one to serve a look so I am really excited to see what he will wear for the VMAs where he is both nominated and performing. I went through a gambit of different labels when I was thinking about what to pick for Maluma, but it was this Dior grey two button double breasted Dior Men Spring 2019 Menswear suit with a cream to fuchsia ombre silk sash kept popping back into my mind. We’ve seen a couple iterations of this look on the red carpet thanks to Gwendoline Christie and Darren Criss, but I feel like Maluma would definitely give this style a MAJOR red carpet moment. The runways t-shirt and a pair of silver Balenciaga tyrex nylon, mesh, faux leather, and rubber sneakers would add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble for Maluma. The last look today is for Travis Scott. I’ve definitely kept an eye on Travis and his style. He tends to favor looks from Dior Homme or Louis Vuitton, but I saw this sunset print Balmain Resort 2021 Menswear blazer and matching button down shirt worn unbuttoned with a black t-shirt and black trousers and it spoke to me. It is a super cool look and I feel like Travis would bring his effortless cool vibe to this look for sure. I would finish the look with statement sneakers via a pair of black and gold Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Talon’ low top sneakers to really make sure this look is cool from head to toe.

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Sunday August 30, 2020. You can see all my VMA’s wishes here.

2020 Venice Film Festival: “The World to Come” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

We are getting close to the end of my wishes for the 2020 Venice Film Festival, but I still have several major fashion moments that I want to see brought to life on the red carpet. Today I have wishes for the red carpet at the premiere of The World to Come. The movie is about how somewhere along the mid-19th century American East Coast frontier, two neighboring couples battle hardship and isolation, witnessed by a splendid yet testing landscape, challenging them both physically and psychologically. I believe that this film will have a glamorous red carpet and the looks I want to see the cast, jury, and an Armani girl bring to life on the red carpet are MAJOR. So let’s get into them. The World To Come is the second film that Vanessa Kirby will be screening at the 2020 Venice Film Festival. I really want her to deliver MAJOR fashion moments on the red carpet. I was highly unimpressed with the nude and burgundy beaded Valentino look she wore on the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards earlier this year. It wasn’t a bad look, but it just wasn’t event appropriate. For her time in Venice I’ve already picked looks from Balmain & Valentino which speaks to two different sides of Vanessa’s style. Today’s wishes speaks to two more. For the photocall I picked a more feminine take on bohemian glamour with this red and green floral print Brock Collection Resort 2021 ‘Saura’ smocked taffeta midi dress which features a straight strapless neckline and a pleated a-line skirt. I adore this dress and I definitely think it speaks to Vanessa and her sense of style. It is the right balance of casual and cocktail for a daytime photocall without it being too much. A romantic updo, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of metallic gold Francesco Russo braided leather strappy sandals would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. The look I would love to see Vanessa wearing on the red carpet at the films premiere I went to the sexier side of Vanessa’s style with this blush pink Atelier Versace Fall 2020 Couture thin strap asymmetrically ruffled gown which features a v-neckline, a thigh high split, and a short train. I would actually like to see Donatella customize this gown to have a longer train since the Lido red carpet is a major stage for fashion. This gown with a sleek side parted beehive hairstyle, defined eyes, pink lips, nude Aquazzura ‘So Vera’ crystal embellished strappy sandals, and a selection of Tiffany & Co. jewels including a pair of chain link drop earrings in platinum with morganites and white diamonds and a statement white diamond and morganite lace cuff bracelet would definitely be a major moment for Vanessa to wear in Venice. As I was creating my dream Venice Film Festival wardrobe for Cate Blanchett Daniel Lee released the lookbook for this Resort 2021 collection for Bottega Veneta. So far only Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Rihanna have made me actually like his creations for the Italian luxury house. I saw this silver pailette sequined halter cocktail dress in the lookbook I immediately thought of it as a killer custom gown for Cate. I always feel like Cate would definitely be able to sell this dress as a gown to me. She can wear just about anything. It would switch things up from the more classic and feminine looks I’ve picked for Cate to wear in Venice thus far. This silver sequin gown is a sharp modern moment. A sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, a silver metal Bottega Veneta ‘Knot’ clutch, silver studded Aquazzura ‘Dream’ PVC peep toe sandals, and de Grisogono ‘Ventaglio’ white diamond fan drop earrings would make sure this look screams modern glamour from head to toe. I don’t know why by I felt like I had to include a super chic red carpet lady pants moment for jury member Ludivine Sagnier. Aside from a shorts suit at one Venice Film Festival Ludivine is usually wearing a cocktail dress or gown on the red carpet. So I don’t know what it was about this years festival that made me want to include a major pants moment for her. Anyway I think this black and white Ronald Van Der Kemp Fall 2020 Couture tuxedo ensemble which features a poet blouse and slim fit cigarette pants with a dramatic train was on my brain and I feel like it would be a super cool moment for her to rock on the red carpet in Venice. A wavy bob, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black pleated chiffon Christian Louboutin ‘Goya Ruban’ pointed toe satin ribbon ankle tie pumps, and simple white diamond and ruby Bulgari ‘Divas Dream’ chandelier earrings would definitely make this a major fashion moment for Ludivine. It was the thought of Anne Hathaway wearing Armani Prive for events like the Golden Globe Awards and Oscars a decade ago that made me want to include her in my wishes for the 2020 Venice Film Festival. I’ve been ready for her to WOW me again. She did great earlier this year at the Critics Choice Awards where she wore custom Atelier Versace. If she wore to jet to Venice, which to be honest is highly unlikely, I’ve picked two glamorous looks for her to bring to life on the Lido red carpet. The first is revisiting the same collection her blue 2009 Golden Globe gown came from with this blush nude one shoulder a-line gown from the Armani Prive Fall 2006 Couture collection which features a crystal embellished bodice and a flowing skirt. I definitely feel like this gown screams glamour and would make me fall in love with Anne on the red carpet again especially styled with a romantic updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a light gold Tyler Ellis ‘Perry Large’ mirrored stingray leather clutch, a pair of gold and silver crystal embellished Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ ankle strap sandals, and Butani diamonds including a pair of fringe wreath earrings and a four row cocktail ring. The second look I picked for Anne is from the Armani Prive Spring 2020 Couture collection with this navy blue and red abstract printed strapless intricately beaded asymmetrically tiered column gown. It is a gorgeous moment and I feel it would be perfect for a starlet representing Armani on the Venice Film Festival red carpet. I would love to see Anne wearing this gown a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a navy satin Judith Leiber Couture crystal clap clutch, a pair of navy suede Manolo Blahnik ‘Chaos’ ankle strap sandals, and a selection of major Gismondi 1754 jewels including a gorgeous one of a kind white diamond wreath necklace and a statement white diamond and sapphire art deco cocktail ring. Both looks would make sure Anne is back on the top of her fashion game again.

The 2020 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday September 2, 2020 and runs through Saturday September 12, 2020. You can see all my Venice Film Festival wishes here.

“13 Reasons Why” Season 4 Premiere Red Carpet Wish List – The Men

Yesterday I talked about the women of 13 Reasons Why and I couldn’t let it all go without talking about some of the men in the cast of the show. The guys in 13 Reasons Why have been delivering just as, and in some cases more, major looks than the ladies in the cast. I would have loved to see the 3 guys below on the red carpet at the shows final season premiere had it not fallen victim to COVID-19. So let’s get right into the major menswear moments I’ve got for y’all today. Brandon Flynn. Honestly the man doesn’t need any more introduction than that. He is hot and has swag. I wanted to see Brandon take the red carpet at the premiere of the final season of 13 Reasons Why giving us an extra take on classic menswear wearing this grey prince of wales plaid Versace Pre-Fall 2020 suit embroidered with red roses all over. I’ve been obsessed with this suit since I first saw the lookbook published on Vogue Runway. As I’ve been making menswear wishes for the last little while I have been waiting for the perfect person and the right event to bring it to the site. I was looking for a suit for Brandon and the moment I saw this look in my images I knew I had found it. Now for styling I would do it a little differently instead pairing the look with a crisp white button down, a deep red skinny tie, and a pair of black Versace ‘Hyperion’ gold detail leather lace-ups to really make this look perfect for Brandon. Dylan Minnette has been the central character, Clay Jensen, in 13 Reasons Why and honestly I don’t know why I decided to include him. He isn’t one who really try’s to make an effort in his red carpet looks. His last MTV Movie & TV Awards was a Jurassic Park t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and yellow vans. I guess this was a hope that he would have gotten dressed up for the premiere of the final season of the show wearing this olive green Todd Snyder Spring 2020 Menswear suite with a navy and white stripped button down. The look is classic without being boring and I think that would have been just the right vibe for Dylan to bring to life for this red carpet. The only thing I would change from the lookbook is the tan slides in favor of a pair of milkshake Todd Snyder ‘Alden’ longwing bulcher lace-ups.Tommy Dorfman is probably the one member of the cast of 13 Reasons Why who is the biggest style star. The actor doesn’t conform to norms on the red carpet. We have seen him rock red carpets in short suits, platform boots, mini skirts, and so much more. So when it came time for me to pick a look I wanted to see him bring to life on this red carpet I went for something statement making with this Bottega Veneta Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which features a chocolate brown knit dancing man sheer button down, high cummerbund waist, and slim fit high waisted pants. It isn’t a look for the faint of heart and Tommy is far from fainthearted. So I would have loved to see Tommy take this look and rock it with the black square toe boots it was styled with on the runway and a black leather Bottega Veneta ‘The Pouch’ oversized clutch. It would definitely have become one of the top looks Tommy has ever worn on a red carpet.

2020 Cannes Film Festival What Could Have Been Wish List: “Bergman Island”

In today’s “What Could Have Been” wish list we are talking about a semi-autobiographical drama about a film making couple who retreat to Ingmar Bergman’s resting place in order to write their next scripts and then slowly lose sight of the line between fiction and reality. Mia Hansen-Løve’s Bergman Island has been at the top of Indiewire’s “most anticipated” list since the project was first announced with Greta Gerwig in the lead role. The film, which Hansen-Løve described to IndieWire as a story about “how film tends to replace my memories of what really happened,” has the potential to be something of a crossover arthouse hit for one of modern cinema’s most consistently brilliant auteurs, whose previous work (such as Eden, Things to Come, and Goodbye First Love) has found deep American fan bases despite limited distribution. Shot in two parts and co-starring Mia Wasikowska, Anders Danielsen Lie, Tim Roth, and Vicky Krieps, Bergman Island finally wrapped filming in the middle of the last summer. Given the project’s high profile and its connection to one of European cinema’s greatest titans, this would be a natural (if long overdue) opportunity to let Hansen-Løve graduate from the sidebars and invite her into the main Competition at Cannes. When Mia Wasikowska made her major red carpet debut at the London premiere of Alice In Wonderland wearing a major Valentino Haute Couture ball gown I got really excited about the birth of a new fashionista. It hasn’t exactly come to fruition the way I was expecting. She is definitely a fashionista, but often time she doesn’t breathe a whole lot of life into the looks she wears on the red carpet. For the Bergman Island photocall in Cannes I decided to go for bight colors with this lemon peel yellow and sorbet lime Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2020 midi dress which features origami cap sleeves, an angular neckline, center split, and mid calf length. This dress super chic and definitely ready for the ocean front balcony that photocalls are held at. I would let this look be super effortless with a loose wavy bob, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and a pair of simple nude Aquazzura ‘Deneuve’ suede pointed toe pumps. For the films premiere I decided to stick with the effortless vibes, but upping the glam factor with this nude Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture strapless which features a nude satin column gown embroidered with bead and a pearl embellishments overlaid with a crystal embellished pleated tulle layer which turns into a sweeping train. I wouldn’t normally pick a nude gown for Mia as she doesn’t like to do a while lot with makeup and accessories, but this gown just spoke to me as the perfect effortless moment for her and so I had to stick to my gut. Now that being said I would style the look simply, but in a manner that really elevates the fashion moment with a loose curly romantic updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, a pair of crystal embellished nude suede Vera Brezhneva x Aquazzura ‘Very Vera’ ankle strap sandals, and a pop of color via 18k gold set emerald and white diamond Bulgari High Jewelry drop earrings. It would make for a super effortlessly glamorous moment for Mia to bring to life on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. I took note of Vicky Krieps a couple of years ago when she wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen strapless bustier lace a-line gown for the premiere of Phantom Thread. So when I saw her name in the billing for Bergman Island I was intrigued. She has that effortless French elegance and tends to stick to labels shown at Paris Fashion Week. So I decided to pick two looks from labels Vicky has favored for red carpets in the past. For the films photocall I went for a classic suiting moment from the Alexander McQueen Resort 2020 collection in bold hot pink. It is definitely a super chic moment and one that would definitely allow for Vicky to catch the eye of the international fashion media. Now while the lookbook was styled with chunky necklaces, no blouse, and white sneakers I would up the glamour instead styling this suit with a white silk Alexander McQueen pussy bow shirt and statement fuchsia and hot pink satin Roger Vivier beaded detail 3D floral appliqued pointed toe pumps. Finishing the look with a loose causal updo, defined eyes, and soft pink lips would definitely make this a perfect photocall moment for Vicky. Now for the premiere I went with something a little more unexpected than we are used to seeing on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, a tea length gown. Chanel has been very nice to Vicky over the years lending her looks for red carpets like the Deauville American Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival so I turned to the label for her premiere look. I do love this strapless navvy 3D floral embroidered tea length gown from the Chanel Spring 2020 Couture collection. It was one of the only looks from the collection that got me really excited for a potential red carpet moment. Now I definitely see this as a look destined for Keira Knightley, but I feel like for Vicky this would be a superb fashion moment for her to wear for her big premiere at the festival especially if styled with a sleek side parted chignon updo, defined eyes, punchy pink lips, a pair of black Roger Vivier ‘Marlene’ strass ball detailed ankle strap sandals, and a statement Chanel Haute Jewelry ‘1932’ white diamond layered fringe collar necklace. Given all the drama surrounding Amber Heard I am not sure the L’Orealista would even be in Cannes this year. I have been up and down with my love of Amber on the red carpet, but I always have high hopes that she will be on tip top form. I think that would definitely be the case if we were to see her take to the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals wearing this black feathered Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features an embroidered tulle sweetheart neckline bustier and a single one shoulder tulle strap. This look was one of my favorite looks to come down the Fall 2019 Couture runways and it definitely needs an international red carpet. I think that Amber would make this gown that major moment I know it could be. Style it with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, bold red lips, black suede Jimmy Choo ‘Mimi’ strappy sandals, and a selection of major de Grisogono jewels including rubellite and cylindrical cut onyx pendant drop earrings and a statement matching rubellite and eight cylindrical cut onyx cocktail ring and I know that Amber would definitely be on top of her style game. Soo Joo Park has a very eclectic sense of style and I always look forward to seeing what she will bring to the red carpet. So when I was thinking of what we could see her bring to life on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet to represent festival sponsor L’Oreal Paris. So I went to the absurd side of glamour picking this back Schiaparelli Fall 2020 RTW ballgown which features a stretch leather bodysuit with embossed bone effect and a faille skirt with elasticated waistband. It isn’t something we would typically expect to see on a red carpet, especially not in Cannes, but I feel like Soo Joo would definitely make this gown fit in perfectly with the yards of tulle and literal tons of crystal beading. A chic updo, thick defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Catia’ strappy sandals, and a gorgeous white diamond and emerald de Grisogono spiral collar necklace would make this a major style moment for Soo Joo to bring to life.

2020 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 29

There is a lot of variation in the labels I want to see on the Met Gala red carpet in this set of wishes, and in my overall wishes in general. I looked at last years Met Gala red carpet gallery on Vogue.com. There are 206 images in that gallery and I counted how many different designer labels were featured. Any guesses? In those 206 images there were only 62 different designers featured. In all of my wishes for this years Met Gala red carpet I have about the same number of stars featured, but I have 83 different designers featured. Now while I do have a lot of wishes for labels like Valentino, Givenchy, and Louis Vuitton a lot of those are just one or two wishes per label. Looking at the five designers featured in this set of wishes for this years red carpet three weren’t even on the Met red carpet last year. I want to see more variation in labels than we have seen on the Met Gala red carpet. There are so many different labels out there why should stars be restricted to just a small box? Since Ralph & Russo launched its runway collection in January 2014 the label has only had two Met Gala moments. The first was Arizona Muse in a gorgeous red ballgown at the Charles James themed gala in 2015 and then a huge white and black ruffled ball gown worn by Janelle Monae in 2017 for the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons” themed gala. I’ve picked three Ralph & Russo looks I want to see on the Met Gala red carpet this year. The first was for Bella Hadid, the second was Katy Perry, and now the third and final wish is for supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel hasn’t been on the Met Gala red carpet since the technology themed gala in 2016 I was wondering who should wear this pale pink silk crêpe Ralph & Russo Spring 2020 Couture column gown, featuring oversized pale pink and mustard silk taffeta bows and sashes for this years red carpet. It just made sense to me that a model would be the perfect person to bring this look to life for this years Met Gala. I love it when Alessandra does classic glamour on the red carpet and I know that she would just ooze sophistication wearing this gown on the Met Gala red carpet especially if styled with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, ruby red lips, a pair of gold crystal embellished Rene Caovilla ‘Dania’ strappy platform sandals, and a beautiful cushion cut yellow diamond and white marquis cut white diamond Harry Winston wreath necklace. To be completely honest I was shocked when no one wore Vera Wang for the Met Gala last year. The designer known for her bridal gowns and evening wear has been a go to designer for at least one star on the Met Gala red carpet for years. She has created some of my favorite gowns that work perfectly with the theme like the Sistine Chapel fresco print gown for Ariana Grande in 2018, the purple jacquard ball gown for Kerry Washington n 2015, and the silver feathers for Rita Ora in 2016. I need to see Vera back on this years Met Gala red carpet dressing a couple of stars. You’ve already seen my wish for a custom grey draped goddess gown for Jodie Comer. For the rest of my Vera Wang wishes for this years red carpet (there’s some still to come) I started looking through the labels archived collections. I was looking at Vera’s iconic ‘black and white’ Spring 2014 Bridal collection to find options for this years red carpet. I knew I wanted to have Vera dress Constance Wu and so I was in a deep dive into the photo archives to find the perfect gown. I saw this ivory silk, lace, and tulle strapless ball gown which features a black lace detail on the strapless sweetheart neckline and knew I had found the moment. Now obviously this gown can deliver serious bridal vibes, so styling for this look would be really important. One thing I would like to see Vera do to make this look a little less bridal and more red carpet is adding black lace detail on the hem of the dress. Then styling the look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, bold red lips, the black leather opera gloves the look was styled with for the lookbook, a pair of black leather Sophia Webster ‘Coco Crystal’ pumps with an ombre crystal heel, and a statement modern art deco white diamond Cartier High Jewelry ‘Etourdissant’ collar necklace I think would take this look out of the realm of overtly bridal into the realm of red carpet glamour. This set of Met Gala wishes is full of models. It has actually been a long time since we have seen supermodel Heidi Klum attend a Met. The last time I saw was back in 2013 when she bucked the theme and wore a super glamorous Marchesa gown for the gala themed “Punk: Chaos to Couture.” With her new hit Amazon fashion series Making The Cut I would love to see Heidi back on this red carpet. I feel like that will be surprising to many because I typically hate what Heidi is wearing on the red carpet, but I adore this moss green Christian Siriano Fall 2020 RTW ‘Funhouse’ one shoulder cape sleeve column gown and I could imagine this being a superb moment for Heidi to bring to life on this red carpet. While last year was not the first year we had seen Christian Siriano designs on the Met Gala red carpet it was his most major year yet. He dressed Janelle Monae, Ryan Murphy, Laverne Cox, and Michael Urie. This year I’ve picked two beautiful Siriano looks for the red carpet. This one for Heidi is the sleeker side of the Siriano label. Heidi has been a good friend to Siriano’s successful fashion house since he won Project Runway back when she was still the series host in 2008 on the shows fourth season. So I definitely could see the two attending the Met Gala together. I would ask Christian to lengthen the cape sleeve so it has a long train to add just a little bit of drama to this look. I think a teased bouffant updo with bangs, smokey eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of sand colored Alevi Milano ‘Penelope’ crystal embellished strappy sandals, and dazzling green tourmaline Anabela Chan ‘Papillon’ white and yellow diamond trimmed drop earrings would definitely make this a beautiful moment for Heidi to bring to life on the Met Gala red carpet. Logan Browning has had a major year this year. She was one of the SAG ambassadors for the 2020 SAG Awards and has been dressed by coveted labels like Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph & Russo, Chloe, and Prabal Gurung, but she has never been to the Met Gala. So as I was looking for the perfect person to wear this ice blue pleated tulle Prabal Gurung Fall 2020 RTW strapless gown which features a structured crystal embellished neckline and as I was searching for the person I saw Logan’s Prabal ensemble from the NAACP Image Awards and the idea of her wearing this gown just clicked in my head. It would definitely be the perfect look for someone to wear on their first Met Gala red carpet. Wearing a shapeless gown is super difficult for anyone. The automatic assumption is “well is she pregnant?” So this look could be a tricky one, but I think that Logan has the effortless edge and glamour to really let this gown come to life with that effortless air it will need. Now with this Prabal gown I would also love to see Logan pair the look with jewels from Prabal’s collaboration with Tasaki including a pair of ‘Cove’ akoya pearl and white diamond drop earrings, an architectural white gold and akoya pearl ‘Aurora’ cuff bracelet, and a white diamond ‘Spirea’ cocktail right. Finishing the styling of this gown with a tight braided hairstyle to keep the look balanced and show off those earrings, smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, and a pair of contrasting holographic blue Gianvito Rossi ‘Temptation’ PVC paneled peep toe slingback pumps would ensure that Logan delivers a major moment on her first Met Gala red carpet. During the time of last years Met Gala Bottega Veneta by Daniel Lee was still in its infancy. He had only presented one pre-collection and one runway show. I was really slow to jump on the Daniel Lee train. I wasn’t a big fan. I wasn’t happy with his seemingly endless copy of other designers and poor construction. I still hate his accessories, but Rosie Huntington Whitley wore a look from his Pre-Fall 2019 collection for a bareMinerals event and it was successful. Then she was his date for the British Fashion Awards wearing a customized look from the Bottega Veneta Spring 2020 RTW collection, also successful. I would bet that if the brand, and Daniel, are on the Met Gala red carpet this year I would bet that Rosie would be their guest. I went round and round on what the custom gown for Rosie would look like. In fact I changed my mind as I was writing this list. People who read fashion blogs might be a little surprised that I’ve got this nude Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2020 look on my list for Rosie. That would be because Rihanna wore the full lookbook version of this ensemble for the ROC Nation Brunch before the Grammy’s earlier this year. When I first saw the crystal embellished ruched halter nude midi dress in this lookbook I immediately put it on reserve for Rosie to wear on the Met Gala red carpet. When Rihanna wore it I was devastated0. Then Daniel Lee sent versions of this gown down the Fall 2020 RTW runway too and the thought of this gown for Rosie came back into my mind. Originally I was thinking of a red liquid sequin turtleneck gown from the Fall 2020 collection, but I just couldn’t shake the idea of this gown. So instead I decided to create a custom red moment of this gown where the hem reaches the floor. Styling this gown with a curly romantic updo embellished with a Cindy Chao ruby and white diamond bow broach detail, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a red crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slim Rectangle’ clutch, and a pair of red crystal embellished Aquazzura ‘Tequila’ strappy sandals would make sure this look dazzles.

Milan Fashion Week Fall 2020 RTW Red Carpet Wish List

As they say fashion week stops for nothing. Well this season the Coronavirus tried to shut down the bi-annual Milan Fashion Week, and only partially succeeded. While the theaters on the final day of Milan Fashion Week might have been devoid of the usual guests of editors, buyers, celebrities, and influencers the shows still went on with those aforementioned people watching the collections come down the runway via a livestream from their hotel rooms. Overall I feel like while in shear number I was disappointed in the offerings that came out of Milan, but overall the quality of moment far exceeded both New York and London. In my wishes below you will find some absolutely major wishes for which I am now sending major positive energy out into the universe to manifest the red carpet moments and keep be excited about fashion. After loosing inspiration towards the end of last year and a mostly lackluster and rushed awards season the looks below give me hope that this year will have major glamour moments in store for us.

“Westworld” Season 3 LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

I am back with the detailed wishes. After having a really busy awards season I definitely will be getting back to talking about my picks what it is about the looks that make me pick them for stars, and then how I would style the looks. To kick that off I have three wishes for the ladies of Westworld Season 3 which is expected to premiere in LA on Thursday March 5, 2020. I am so excited to get back to major fashion. I have been taking in all of the recent runways and the looks have me really excited for what the next several months of fashion are going to bring. I feel like Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, & Tessa Thompson are all going to deliver some super FashON moments on this red carpet. Evan Rachel Wood has become the queen of the red carpet suit. There was a time when I was actively wishing for her to deliver some major gowns on the red carpet, but as I was getting ready to pick looks for this red carpet I knew immediately that I wanted to see Evan wearing this black Monse Fall 2020 RTW suit which features asymmetrical silver safety pin embellishments. The moment I saw this look come down the New York Fashion Week runaway Evan immediately came into my mind. The belted waist just makes sure this look scream strong, sexy, and powerful. While Fernando Garcia & Laura Kim (the Monse creative directors) decided to go more grunge with the hair, makeup, and styling I would want to see Evan rock the red carpet styling this look a little more glam with a sleek rockabilly inspired updo, defined eyes, bold crimson red lips, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘MONTECARLO’ crystal strap pointed toe pumps, and dazzling asymmetrical white diamond Messika ‘Etoile Polaire’ cluster earrings. It would really ensure that Evan owns the red carpet at this premiere. When it comes to the red carpet Tessa Thompson is a chameleon she goes from urban to glam in the span of a blink of an eye and she does it seamlessly. It is one of the many things about her that I absolutely adore. I am very intrigued to see what she and her stylists Wayman + Micah are getting together for the red carpet premiere of season 3 of Westworld. I have been a slow burn to get on board with Daniel Lee as the new creative director at Bottega Veneta, but I did find myself drawn to his 90’s maximalist minimalism that he showed on the runway for the labels Fall 2020 RTW collection. To be completely honest I really wanted to save this red micro-sequined turtle neck loose fit long sleeve column gown for someone to wear for the Met Gala, and it will still most likely be a wish I make for the Met if no one wears it before then, but as I was looking for the perfect look for Tessa to bring to life on the red carpet at the Westworld premiere I was really drawn to this look for her. It is sleek and sexy, while being completely covered and I definitely think that Tessa could shut this look down on the red carpet. I would style this look with a large bun of braids, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of red Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Betty Knot’ platform ankle strap sandals, and sleek white diamond Vhernier ‘Vague’ earclips to really ensure that Tessa dominates this red carpet. Finishing out this set of wishes is the GORGEOUS Thandie Newton. When it comes to these three ladies I definitely believe that Thandie is the most consistent with constantly hitting it out of the fashion ballpark every time she steps onto a red carpet. We may not see Thandie on a lot of red carpets, but when we do it is always a majorly glam moment. So for the LA premiere of Westworld Season 3 I decided to go with a high glam look with a technological twist with this black and white intricately embroidered Iris Van Herpen Spring 2020 Couture high low tea length gown which features a high neck, cold shoulders, cap sleeves, and  a trumpet silhouette. The look is definitely nothing we have seen from Thandie in the past, but I feel like she would make sure that this look is effortless and glamorous from head to toe styling the gown with a sleek low bun, defined eyes, soft nude lips, simple black Aquazzura ‘Deneuve’ strappy sandals, and a pair of classic yet dazzling vintage Suzanne Belperron Art Deco white diamond scalloped cluster stud earrings from Fred Leighton.

The Westworld Season 3 LA Premiere is expected to take place on Thursday March 5, 2020.
