2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

The Grammy Awards are always one of the most fun red carpets of the year. I’ve always been excited to see what the stars will bring and I have to say that is still true this year. I have been quite happy with many of the previous music awards events. I want to see everyone bring GLAMOUR and DRAMA to the “red carpet” at the Grammy Awards this year, whatever it will look like. I have some major moments in my wishes this year and several of them are in today’s set. Are you ready to get into them with me? Ariana Grande is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Lady Gaga for their hit song Rain On Me. It is the only nomination Ari earned this year and she is not performing. What does that mean? Well I would say that means that we won’t be seeing her on a red carpet this year, but with the whole “red carpet from home” idea we’ve seen I hope that she will serve up a chic look on Instagram. When thinking about what I would love to see Ari wear for the Grammy’s red carpet I thought that going short with this sleeveless ice blue Elie Saab Spring 2021 Couture halter skater style dress with intricate beaded floral embroidery, an a line skirt covered in feathers, and a tulle train would be perfect. It’s fun, flirty, and a little ice capades-y and I think those are all thinks that are perfectly in tune with Ariana’s style. I think with her signature high pony, defined winged cat eyes, rose pink lips, silver crystal embellished PVC Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Catia’ ankle wrap sandals, and a pair of white diamond Butani cluster earrings that this look would scream youthful, flirty glamour from head to toe. I’ve been so excited about what Doja Cat would wear for the Grammy’s since I started to get to know her style over the fall. She has rocked major moments from Versace, Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, and Georges Hobeika Haute Couture for the different music award shows last fall and it is just leaving me really excited to see what the Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Solo Pop Performance nominee will bring to the Grammy’s, especially since she will be there in person as a performer. I went for two looks one for the “red carpet” and one for the stage to accept any award that she might take home. For the red carpet I’ve had my heart set on this white and silver Viktor & Rolf Spring 2021 Couture ensemble which features a heavily embellished bralet over a cropped white puffy sleeve button down and a high waisted tiered ball skirt since I first saw it. I feel like this gown is the perfect meshing of 80’s DRAMA and sex appeal in a very modern way. Doja is a fashion chameleon and I feel like she could definitely make it work. I would style this ensemble with a sleet retro inspired updo, defined eyes, wine red lined matte red lips, a pair of white Amina Muaddi ‘Zula’ PVC-trimmed and white leather strappy sandals, and a selection of major Lorraine Schwartz jewels including ‘Lightning bolt’ white diamond cluster earrings, a halo set three stone white diamond ring, a white diamond spear head coil ring, and a halo set marquis cut white diamond cocktail ring. Now all that being said I would say that after Doja was virtually front row at the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection presentation this week I would imagine that she will definitely be rocking a Givenchy look for the show this weekend. While I would still love to see that Viktor & Rolf look on the red carpet I think that this black crystal embellished slip gown with a beaded fringe hem from the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection would be cool. Now I would change the look up ditching that coat it was styled with and then lining the sheer gown with liquid sequins to really elevate the glamour moment of this look. I would go full classic glam with this look styling it with a sleek fingerwave updo, defined eyes, bold matte red lips, a pair of sky high black Jimmy Choo ‘Max 150’ suede peep toe ankle strap sandals, and even more Lorraine Schwartz jewels including emerald cut emerald and white diamond drop earrings, a Colombian emerald 3 stone cocktail ring, and a white diamond and emerald angular cocktail ring to make sure that both of these would be astonishing moments for Doja to rock for her first Grammy’s red carpet. Justin & Hailey Beiber will also most likely be celebrating the Grammy’s from home since the singer who is nominated for 4 awards isn’t performing this year. The two are notoriously private as a couple and they don’t often do couples appearances. That being said I would have loved to see the couple work the Grammy’s red carpet together this year if it were a normal red carpet. Now the two have like polar opposite styles with Justin very laid back and Hailey a glamizon, but I feel like I picked looks for the two that speak to their individual style, but would compliment each other perfectly. For Justin I turned to the Celine Spring 2021 Menswear collection and this major black, red, and white color blocked leather bomber with gold detailing pair with two tone light wash loose fit jeans. Now the look was styled without a shirt on the runway, but I would add a white Celine ‘The Dancing Kid” loose fit t-shirt to the look as well as a pair of white and beige Celine ‘Blank’ low lace up toe cap sneakers to really make it a cool moment. Now for Hailey I went for super sexy glam with this black and red strapless Tony Ward Spring 2021 Couture intricately beaded sheer tulle column gown with a thigh high split and a built in bodysuit. It would absolutely be something that Hailey would be drawn to and I think it would compliment that Celine look for Justin perfectly. To complete this look perfectly for Hailey I would style this gown with a sleek bun updo with face framing tendrils, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Epic Rose 100’ wraparound ankle strap sandals and a silver pin heel, and a selection of deGrisogono jewels including black diamond and ruby ‘Volcano’ drop earrings and a dazzling white diamond and ruby cocktail ring. Lady Gaga is currently in Rome filming the new Ridley Scott “House of Gucci” movie so I would say that since she is in the production bubble that we will not be seeing her at the Grammy’s this year. She is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album and I would LOVE to still see her show us a major fashion moment on Instagram celebrating the Grammy Awards. I’ve been  wishing to see Gaga wearing this shocking pink velvet draped Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture gown which is draped from a headband and I know that she is really the only person who could sell this moment to me. I seriously don’t know who else could wear all this velvet and not get lost, but I know that Gaga would be able to work through this gown and serve up a major moment for me. I would style this gown with the gold glitter Valentino Spring 2021 Couture ankle strap crazy platform pumps, and over a million dollars in Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. jewels including a vintage 18k gold set white diamond, pink rubellite, and turqouise collar necklace from the 1960’s which sold at Christie’s for $905,000, an 18k gold ‘Bow Tie’ cuff bracelet, and a major 18k gold and platinum set ‘Tapestry’ white diamond and rubellite cocktail ring. It would SCREAM major avant garde glamour from head to toeWrapping up today is the fabulous Tiffany Haddish who is nominated for Best Comedy Album. I don’t know if we’ll see Tiffany at the Grammy’s yet, but I hope to at least see her show up with a major IG moment if she isn’t headed to the Staples Center. While I’ve gone for very avant garde moments for most of the stars in these wishes I wanted to go for something sleeker and more simplistic for her since she isn’t one of the music nominees. I feel like this black sheath dress from the David Koma Pre-Fall 2021 collection which features short flutter sleeves, plexi crystal circles on a peplum busts and a center split. It is sleek and sexy rock and roll glam and I feel like Tiffany would definitely be able to sell this look to me with ease especially if styled with her shaved head, defined eyes, deep red glossy lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Spikaqueen 100’ crystal embellished PVC ankle strap pointed toe sandals, and Gismondi 1754 jewels including white diamond ‘Niagara’ waterfall cluster earrings and a white diamond ear cuff in both ears.

The 2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS Sunday March 14, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2021 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 10

The news that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has asked all of the Golden Globe Award nominees to stay home and not even gather with the other members of their casts. I really hope that this doesn’t mean more and more stars in t-shirts and pajamas like we saw at the Emmy’s. I really want to see everyone nominated really bring the glamour from home since they won’t be attending in person. I know that is asking a lot, but I am craving big glamour. Julia Garner wore white silk Chanel tank and trousers with loads of pearls to Zoom into the Emmy Awards. She ultimately lost, but I really want to see her give us major edgy glamour for the Golden Globe Awards next weekend. I saw this midnight blue liquid sequin Burberry Pre-Fall 2021 long sleeve column gown which features thumb-holes, and cutouts on the sleeves and definitely think that it would be a really great moment for her to bring to life. I would love to see it on the screen with her signature short curls, defined eyes, deep red lips, and a pair of black Burberry ‘Hove 110’ strappy chunky heel sandals. Now since Zooming in is all about the waist up I would definitely want some statement jewelry so I turned to a major white diamond Messika High Jewelry asymmetric collar necklace to really up the amp of glamour.Like her Ozark co-star Laura Linney also zoomed into the 2020 Emmy Awards and unfortunately I wasn’t all that thrilled with her look either. She made a political statement wearing a “Vote” emblazoned suit from Christian Siriano. He has been one of Laura’s go-to designers for the last couple of years, but for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards where her work on the show earned her a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama I really want to see Laura work a BOLD fashion moment for her to remotely join the ceremony. I want to see her bring color to the screen and I would adore seeing Laura do so wearing this marigold yellow Oscar de la Renta Resort 2021 gown which features cutout details on an an asymmetric neckline and the short puff sleeves, built in belted waist, and a column silhouette with vent at back hem. I have long loved a red head in yellow and I can definitely imagine this gown being a major color on her especially if it was styled with a romantic updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of golden yellow crystal embellished Dolce & Gabbana pointed toe pumps, and dazzling David Yurman ‘Origami’ 18k gold set pave set white diamond multi-ring hoop drop earrings.Riz Ahmed is one of the men who are nominated this year that I feel could bring intriguing menswear fashion moments. I have always loved his subtle approach to pushing the boundaries of mens fashion and I really want to see him give phenomenal moments starting with this dark brown glittered Celine Fall 2020 Menswear tuxedo which features black satin peak lapels and matching trousers for the Golden Globe Awards where his performance in Sound of Metal has earned him his first nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama category. I love this suit and I can definitely imagine it being a wonderful statement. I would swap the silk pussy bow shirt the dress was styled with on the runway swapping it instead for a black viscose Celine classic pleated detail button down shirt, a black skinny tie in satin-effect silk from Celine, and a pair of black shiny calfskin Celine ‘Jacno’ ankle boots to really make this look a major menswear moment. I watched Ratched on Netflix and I have to say I am shocked that in a year I felt had so many great performances that it got love. That being said I always love seeing Sarah Paulson make appearances. It didn’t seem like she put in much effort for the Emmy’s which she zoomed into, but I want to see her bring some major dazzle to the screen for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards where she is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama. If she were to pull something out of her closet to wear for this red carpet I would love to see Sarah re-wear the emerald beaded fringe detailed Prada gown with a plunging neckline and 3/4 length sleeves that she wore for the Emmy’s the year she won. It was a dazzling moment then and could be again, but if she were to give us something new I would love to see her wear this just presented light yellow LBV Fall 2021 RTW sequin embellished long sleeve gown which features a jewel neckline and ostrich feather details on the cuffs. I was on the hunt for a new look for Sarah to bring to life and I wasn’t loving anything, but the moment I saw this look I knew it was perfect. It would be incredibly chic with a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, butter yellow Roger Vivier ‘Mini Broche’ crystal buckle clasp ankle strap peep toe sandals with clear crystal embellished plexi chunky heels, and yellow gold Nikos Koulis ‘Feelings’ collection snake inspired chain earrings with white diamonds.Cynthia Nixon also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Ratched. I am really interested in seeing what she will be wearing over the next several months as we approach the “And Just Like That…”, the Sex and the City spin off. When it comes to the red carpet there isn’t a whole lot for me to go on in terms of picking looks for Cynthia. I was thinking of an vintage Calvin Klein gown for Cynthia, but when I knew that the plan for nominees was to have them join the ceremony remotely I completely changed my mind. I decided instead to go with this black Gabriela Hearst Fall 2020 RTW single button tuxedo which features braided trimming on the peak lapel blazer and wide leg trousers. It is a simple, yet incredibly chic moment and I feel like it would be perfect for Cynthia to wear for the Golden Globe Awards. I would finish this look with a black Lafayette 148 New York ‘Fielding’ jersey tank, defined eyes, soft nude pink lips, her flared side parted bob, a pair of black patent leather Aquazzura criss-cross strap pointed toe pumps, and a Pomellato High Jewelry ‘Sabbia of Tahiti’ black pearl, gold chain, and diamond y-shaped necklace to make this an incredibly chic moment for Cynthia.

The 2021 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday February 28, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years event here.

2020 E! People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

Tonight is the night! I am really excited to see what everyone is going to bring. There was still a fantastic list of stars who are nominated, presenting, and performing tonight. So I decided to finish up my wishes with a round-up of everyone left. While I enjoy detailing out my thought process in picking my wishes there just wasn’t enough time to write about everyone. There are definitely some absolutely major fashion moments I want to see on this red carpet tonight out of these wishes. While I know we can expect to see Alison Brie, Armie Hammer, Christina Hendricks, and Justin Beiber tonight I don’t know who else we can expect to see that I’ve featured in this list. But as I’ve said multiple times this year it’s better to dream in glamour than drown in the fear of what is going on in the world.

The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards will take place TONIGHT November 15, 2020 and you can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2020 Venice Film Festival: “Nomadland” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Chloe Zhao’s upcoming feature Nomadland has been set to world premiere on September 11 on the Lido. It will also have a simultaneous screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, both of which will feature virtual introductions by producer, writer, editor, and director Zhao, and producer and star Frances McDormand. So we won’t have a red carpet for this premiere, but I can still wish right? I mean I’ve already done one fantasy premiere for Nomadland in my What Could Have Been in Cannes series, so let’s get into what I would have liked to see for this red carpet in Venice.Frances McDormand isn’t a fashionista by any means. In her 2018 winning awards season she skipped every red carpet despite being dressed by Valentino for every event. She did walk the red carpet the same year with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli at the Met Gala and is now one of the stars of the brands Fall 2020 handbag campaign. So had Frances been able to make the trip to Venice I would have loved to see her bring two super chic off the rack Valentino moments to life starting with this bias cut navy and off white striped poet sleeve silk tie waist midi dress. This look screams easy breezy and I feel like that is what Frances would be drawn to. I would style it with a bare face of makeup, her signature unkempt hair, and black leather Valentino ‘Rockstud Flair’ platform oxfords to keep it in tune with her style. Now for the premiere I went with something a bit more boundary pushing for Frances with this ivory-white Valentino gown crafted in wool blended with silk and features intricate beading and crystal accents ostrich feathers. It is definitely much more dramatic than the things we are used to seeing from Frances, but I feel like for a major film festival one should go big or go home. Now the styling wouldn’t change much except for the fact I would swap the shoes for a pair of gold leather Stuart Weitzman ‘Zoelie’ crystal embellished thick sole flat sandals to make sure this look still would have screamed Frances, but with a high fashion twist. In the lead up to couture I was really hoping the Demna Gvasalia would make his couture debut putting Balenciaga back on the couture circuit. Now that didn’t happen due to COVID-19, but I already had the label in mind for Cate Blanchett to wear in Venice. So instead of picking a look from Demna I instead went into the Balenciaga archives and found this major black silk crepe evening gown from Cristobal Balenciaga’s 1960 Haute Couture collection. The gown is a sleeveless tunic-style design which features a round neckline in the front and a straight neckline with straps in the back, a left side split, and overlapping ribbon trim with pearlescent sequin bead application, floral sequins and cotton flowers. I saw this gown in the Balenciaga Museums online archive and fell in love with it immediately. It is classic glamour defined. If she cannot wear the original I would love to see the gown reissued just for Cate. It wouldn’t be the first time she’s worn reissued Balenciaga Couture. In 2013 Cate was among my Best Dressed of the Year wearing a pink cap sleeve cape tunic and floral embroidered midi dress reissued by then creative director Alexander Wang from the Fall 1967 Couture collection for the New York premiere of Blue Jasmine. It isn’t really within Demna’s edgier take on Balenciaga, but it would definitely be a major moment for Cate. Style it with a bouffant inspired updo, defined eyes, bold red lips. a pair of black satin Aquazzura ‘Bow Tie’ silver crystal embellished pointed toe pumps, and a selection of MAJOR Bulgari jewels including white diamond ‘Barocko’ collection drop earrings and a vintage white diamond ‘Serpenti’ snake coil cuff bracelet to really make this look scream GLAMOUR on the Venice Film Festival red carpet. Ludivine Sagnier to me seems like a Celine girl. I definitely want to see her rock a look by Heidi Slimane on the red carpet in Venice. I feel like it would most likely be a custom look, but if she were to grab a runway look I would love to see her wear this champagne gold Celine Spring 2020 RTW boho disco glam midi dress which features a ruffled tied neckline, poet sleeves, and intricate sequin embroidery. I really cannot believe that no one has snatched this look up even before the pandemic. I feel like Ludivine would definitely be able to really bring this look to life on the red carpet styled with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, a black and silver geometric galuchat skin Bulgari ‘Serpenti Tubogas’ clutch which features a brass palladium plated snake closure with black enamel, a pair of black Celine ‘Sharp’ patent calfskin gold studded ankle strap sandals, and Bulgari 18k gold set emerald and white diamond drop earrings. It was the super sexy glam Giorgio Armani gown that Vanessa Hudgens wore last year to the LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that made me want to include her in my wishes for the 2020 Venice Film Festival. I am hoping that Armani, whose beauty label is a presenting sponsor of the festival, will still have spokesmodels on the red carpets delivering glamour. If they were to fly Vanessa to Venice I picked two gowns I feel speak to her sense of glamour starting with a powder blue and pink banana leaf print strapless Giorgio Armani Spring 2020 RTW column gown which features a gathered bandeau empire bodice, slinky fit, and is covered in a crystal mesh. I definitely knew I wanted to include this gown in these wishes and when I was thinking of who would be the perfect person to wear it Vanessa came to mind. She has the right vibe to really make this look come to life. Style it with a loose romantic updo, soft navy smokey eyes, light pink lips, a silver Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slide Lock’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of silver glitter Casadei ‘Blade’ ankle strap sandals, and a major white diamond Messika High Jewelry ‘Diamond Spears’ collar necklace and it would definitely be a major glam moment for Vanessa. The second look is more of a princess moment picking this golden ivory silk organza Armani Prive Spring 2007 Couture halterneck gown which features intricate crystal embellishments and draped fringe on the bodice and a tuck pleated rise and fall a-line skirt with a bubble hem. We don’t see Vanessa wearing ball gowns on the red carpet so this would be a bit of a departure, but I feel like it does still fall in her sense of style. Now I would love to see her rock this gown with a sleek updo, bronze smokey eyes, antique rose pink lips, a gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Soho’ champagne gold snakeskin jeweled clasp clutch, light gold Giuseppe Zanotti ankle strap sandals, and Messika High Jewelry rose gold set ‘Desert Bloom’ white diamond feather inspired cluster earrings.

The 2020 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday September 2, 2020 and runs through Saturday September 12, 2020. You can see all my Venice Film Festival wishes here.

2020 Venice Film Festival: “Lovers” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

When it comes to the red carpets in Venice I am getting more and more excited as the days go by. I am really excited to see what everyone is cooking up for the first major red carpet event since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. So I am really intrigued to see last years jury member Stacy Martin back on the Lido to promote her latest film Lovers which is set in Paris and follows the story of Lisa, who, while on vacation with her husband, rekindles a passionate affair with her ex-boyfriend. But that may lead to a murder.Last year Stacy wore mostly short looks for her jury duty, but this year I’ve gone with one short look and one (custom) gown for her to rock on the Venice Film Festival red carpet. I’m honestly shocked that I’ve picked two black looks to be honest, but they both just spoke to me. So let’s start with the photocall which I would love to see Stacy give us 70’s inspired chic wearing this black chiffon Celine Fall 2020 RTW long sleeve boho dress which features a blouson fit, high neckline, horizontal pleats down the bodice, a drop waist, and vertical pleated a-line circle skirt. I adore me a good boho glam moment and I definitely think that is what Stacy would be delivering to us wearing this look on the photocall stage in Venice. Finishing the look with a sleek center parted low bun, simple defined eyes, glossy pink lips, the runways gold chain belt, ditching the fringe pendant necklace, and adding a pair of black Celine ‘Sharp’ gold studded strappy leather sandals would make this look scream effortless bohemian elegance. For the premiere I’m going to ask you to get creative. I saw this black Louis Vuitton Resort 2021 mermaid skirt with a pleated flared hem and I thought it would be a really cool start of a gown. Now I’m not sure about the top will look like. I feel like it would be a straight strapless bustier bodice. Maybe adding a peplum on the hips, and belting it with a Louis Vuitton ‘Midnight’ 50mm black leather belt that features a massive sharp silver buckle. Of course I would also make sure the hem hits the floor. To make this look scream modern edgy glamour I would style this look with a sleek center parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Call Back’ ankle strap sandals, and statement Cartier High Jewelry ‘Type IIA’ white diamond drop earcuffs. In the course of my wishes for the 2020 Venice Film Festival I have a whole set of wishes for jury president Cate Blanchett. Regular readers know I LOVE me some Cate Blanchett and I am praying to the fashion gods that she will deliver Best Dressed of the Year worthy moments. Four of the past nine Best Dressed of the Year lists have included Cate giving us dramatic glamour. Now she is the face of an Armani fragrance and the Italian fashion label is a sponsor of the festival so I have a feeling that Cate will wear a couple of looks from the label on the red carpet. In today’s wish I turn back to the same bold pink and blue Armani Prive Spring 2020 Couture strapless column gown which features a bandeau like corseted bodice and intricate beaded pattern that I featured in my wishes for Sara Sampaio yesterday for Cate today. If you had to ask me who I would most want to see wearing it I would have to say Cate. Each woman would wear the gown perfectly but in very different ways. For Cate I would style this look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, soft pink lips, the runways matching clutch, a pair of matching pink Christian Louboutin ‘Araborda’ crystal embellished peep toe slingback sandals, and Chopard Red Carpet Collection jewels including a pair of white diamond and pink rubellite teardrop pendant earrings from the 2015 collection and a MAJOR multicolored pink and purple sapphire bracelet set in pink titanium from the 2020 collection. I feel like I don’t know a while lot about French actress and jury member Ludivine Sagnier’s style, but I am really interested in seeing what she will be wearing on the red carpets over the course of the festival. Gucci is usually a staple on the red carpet in Venice so I turned to the Italian fashion brand for this look for Ludivine. I love this metallic purple sequin Gucci Pre-Fall 2020 long poet sleeve, straight fit gown which features a mandarin inspired collar, peekaboo details on the check and shoulders, and a thigh high split and I feel like it could be a really cool look for Ludivine to wear. With this dazzling gown being such a statement I would usually go for simple styling, but since it is a film festival and I want to see everyone go big or go home I would love to see Ludivine style this gown with a wavy bob hairstyle, soft smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of purple suede Gucci crystal embellished ankle strap sandals, and statement Gucci High Jewelry lion and floral white diamond, amethyst, and pink morganite chandelier earrings. It would make for a really dazzling red carpet moment. Up to today all the lovely ladies I have wished to see represent Armani in Venice adding glamour to the red carpet have been those with direct connections to campaigns with the brand. We have seen the label invite some other stars to the red carpet in Venice to promote the brands beauty and runway collections. So with that in mind I decided I wanted to add a little fantasy to these wishes. In a perfect world I would love to see Emmy Rossum jetted to Venice to walk the festivals red carpet wearing two gorgeous Armani Prive gowns. We’ve seen Emmy wear Armani for the Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, WWD Honors, the Critics Choice Awards, and the Toronto Film Festival in the past. It is always a very glamorous pairing. If she were to head to Venice to promote the brand I would love to see her kick off her time at the festival wearing this bold electric blue hand embroidered arabesque lace one shoulder a-line gown from the Armani Prive Spring 2020 Couture collection. I definitely feel like we will see this gown in Venice and Emmy would definitely be able to bring it to life with ease styling it with a sleek retro updo, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of matching electric blue Rene Caovilla ‘Bessie’ two strap crystal embellished mule sandals, and a selection of vintage Van Cleef & Arpels including white diamond and sapphire floral drop earrings and a major sapphire and white diamond art deco inspired bracelet. The second look I would love to see Emmy wear in Venice is this soft blush pink Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture strapless ballgown which features intricate beaded embellishments and a banded ball skirt. I am honestly shocked that this gown is still available. I don’t know why no one snatched this gown up for last falls film festival season or awards season. It screams feminine glamour. I believe that it would definitely be something that Emmy would be drawn to. Style it with Veronica Lake waves worn over one shoulder, simple defined eyes, bold pink lips, a pair of nude pink Pierre Hardy ‘Midnight’ crystal trimmed open toe strappy sandals, and a dazzling white diamond Van Cleef & Arpels ‘Snowflake’ three grow garland collar necklace and Emmy would have two major red carpet moments on her hands.

The 2020 Venice Film Festival will open on Wednesday September 2, 2020 and runs through Saturday September 12, 2020. You can see all my Venice Film Festival wishes here.

Jennifer Lopez to wear the Fall 2020 RTW Collections

I’m not going to lie to you. Now that all my Met Wishes and the Cannes Film Festival wishes are over I have been digging for content to bring you. I have some ideas and the calendar is still planned out for now, but not everything is going to be about events that are cancelled or even about wishes at all. Today I went through the casual folder of my runway archive looking at the Fall 2020 RTW collections for looks I would love to see Jennifer Lopez bring to life. When it comes to personal style Jennifer Lopez brings some major fashion moments. Over the years on the sidewalks we have seen JLo bring everything from off the runway looks to tracksuits and sports bra’s for her street style. She always looks phenomenal. I’ve picked six looks below that are perfect for JLo to rock for everything from school pick up to heading to a business meeting and then styled them the way I would if I were dressing her. So let’s get into it shall we?Brandon Maxwell: I couldn’t create a casual style wish list for JLo and not include this Brandon Maxwell Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which consists of an army green speckled cashmere-blend sweater dress layered over dark wash straight leg jeans. This was one of those immediate looks that I wanted to see JLo wear. I quickly put the wish out into the universe in one of my wishes from New York Fashion Weeks. I loved how Brandon styled the look hiking up the dress and making have more of a tunic top vibe than a dress vibe. I would imagine JLo walking the streets of New York in early winter wearing this look with the runways army green belted waist, a sleek blowout, defined eyes behind Coach ‘Signature Retro’ dark tortoise sunglasses, burgundy lips, a brass and straw chalk Coach ‘Hutton’ shoulder bag with 3D leather tea roses, and milk chocolate croc embossed leather Jimmy Choo ‘Minori 100’ pointed toe stiletto boots. It would be magical.

Celine: This Celine Fall 2020 RTW leopard print caftan style asymmetrical midi dress is definitely in stark contrast to the Brandon Maxwell look. It is definitely fierce but in a more bohemian manner. The look screams JLo to me and if styled in the right way. Imagine Jennifer getting off of her personal jet in Miami wearing this look styled with a black Celine ‘Medium 16’ grained calfskin top handle bag, a sleek high ponytail, glossy nude pink lips, a pair of black Celine ‘Sharp’ suede crystal striped pointed toe pumps, and black Celine oversized acetate sunglasses.

Christopher John Rogers: JLo in color is major. She wore a similar color in a hot off the runway Sally LaPointe look earlier this year for a stop of Oprah’s gratefulness tour. So when I saw this goldenrod yellow Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which features a ruffled button down blouse and matching wide leg trousers I thought it would be a MAJOR business boss lady moment for JLo. The color is fantastic and if styled with a casual updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a matching goldenrod yellow Alberta Ferretti logo buckled croc leather top handle bag, a pair of metallic gold Casadei ‘Blade Modern Love’ pointed toe pumps, statement yellow Linda Farrow ‘Des Voeux’ yellow gold plated titanium cat-eye frame sunglasses, and Jennifer Fischer ‘Baby Samira’ 14k gold 1.5 inch hoops I know that Jennifer would have another major fashion moment on her hands. Dries Van Noten: When it comes to celebrities Dries Van Noten is aw very underrated designer. His creations always spark joy for me. I always get excited about his collections and I always wish for his looks to be made into major star style moments. I was looking at this green snakeskin and blue and green plaid draped midi dress from the Dries Van Noten Fall 2020 RTW collection and when I thought of it on Jennifer I knew it had the potential to be a major moment. It isn’t a typical look that comes to mind when I think of her style, but I really do think that she would bring this look to life with ease. Blown out bouncy waves, defined eyes, soft pink glossy lips, a lake blue leather Coach ‘Tabby 20’ top handle bag with brass hardware, emerald green snakeskin Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ PVC paneled pointed toe pumps, and a pair of sapphire blue crystal Atelier Swarovski ‘Tigris’ double hoop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

Fendi: This Fendi Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which features a thick nude pink cable skit turtleneck sweater with 3/4 voluminous sleeves and an olive green button up a-line pleated skirt was been a favorite of mine since it was first presented. It’s a super feminine and elegant moment and I can definitely see Jennifer rocking this look for a date night with fiance Alex Rodriguez. She would definitely infuse her sensuality into this super feminine moment styling it with a sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a beige leather Fendi ‘Peekaboo Iconic’ large top handle bag, a pair of nude pink suede Christian Louboutin ‘Galativi’ crystal trimmed and mesh paneled pointed toe pumps, and statement rose gold Le Sepecs Luxe ‘Semi-Charmed’ large cat-eye sunglasses with browline detail.

Tom Ford: The final look in this wish would definitely be the most dramatic street style moment if JLo decided to snatch it right off the runway. I love this Tom Ford Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which features a black and white tie-dye silk caftan high low blouse and a pair of grey high rise cotton sweatpants. It is a major style moment. I would love to see Jennifer rock this look with a black Nike cutout light support non padded sports bra, sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, nude glossy lips, a black Hermes ‘Birkin’ bag, a pair of black, white, and red Christian Louboutin ‘Red Runner Donna’ glittered lace-up sneakers, and statement black Linda Farrow ‘Lerretta’ winged sunglasses.

Each of these I think speaks to a different side of Jennifer’s style. Each would make for a major fashion moment. So tell me which one of these looks do you want to see Jennifer bring to life on the worlds sidewalk runways?

2020 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 35

We are almost to the end of my 2020 Met Gala wishes. These are all the ones that you heard me talk about adding up unto this point. I was adding looks, stars, and archive moments that I just knew needed to be included in this years wishes that I didn’t get involved early enough. These wishes are superb. I am just holding my breath hoping that they will be brought to life. I was working on another project when I found this butter yellow Vivienne Westwood Spring 2005 RTW draped high low off the shoulder corseted ballgown. I was obsessed with it immediately. I was lacking a good Vivienne Westwood moment for my Met Gala wishes and this was it. It speaks to the enduring legacy of the Vivienne Westwood. I was thinking of one of these gowns for Camila Morrone and this one was the perfect one. It would be a huge improvement over her nude crumpled Elie Saab disaster she wore for her Met Gala debut last year. This look oozes sophistication and that signature brand of Vivienne Westwood glamour. A sleek updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and pair of bright yellow satin Aquazzura ‘Deneuve’ pointed toe pumps, and a selection of dazzling Samer Halimeh New York jewels including a statement white and yellow diamond choker necklace and a matching cocktail ring would all ensure this look is perfection from head to toe. Aside from the customized Celine gown I hadn’t picked any other looks from the label for the Met Gala red carpet. I was actually SHOCKED that last year after several red carpet moments over the course of awards season that Heidi Slimane didn’t dress a single soul for the Met Gala red carpet. He sent several gowns down the runway for his Celine Fall 2020 RTW collection. This black liquid sequin sheath dress which features a ruffled neckline is gorgeous and definitely on theme for this years Met Gala red carpet. I was raking my brain for the perfect person to wear this gown on this red carpet and Jennifer Aniston came to mind. Now Jennifer has never attended a Met Gala in the past and she isn’t the most exciting person, but I do think that this gown is something she would definitely be drawn to. I am usually not a fan of the way Jennifer styles her ensembles. She doesn’t usually put a lot of effort into her looks. I would love to see her put the effort into her look for her Met Gala debut styling this look with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi peep toe slingback pumps, and vintage art deco scalloped white diamond cluster stud earrings from Fred Leighton.A star I knew I needed to see on the Met Gala red carpet this year is Lady Gaga. After her 4 wardrobe changes on the steps last year when she was the co-host of the gala I want to see Gala deliver superb glamour on the red carpet. She delivered many timeless dramatic glamour moments on the red carpet over the course of the A Star Is Born promo tour and the subsequent awards season leading to her Oscar win. It makes me pray to the gods of fashion that we will see her on this years Met Gala red carpet. I went on a search for the perfect gown for her to bring to life on this years red carpet. I would love to see Gaga bring this red Mary Katrantzou Spring 2020 RTW ‘Love’ gown which features a hand draped taffeta bodice and a floor length skirt in duchess satin. I know that this gown needs someone with presence for it to be perfection and Gaga has presence in endless abound. Styling this look with a 40’s inspired rolled updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of red crystal embellished Rene Caovilla ‘Celebrita’ ankle strap platform sandals, and a statement Tiffany & Co. collar necklace designed by Paloma Picasso for the 1985 Blue Book, made of rare and colorful gemstones was acquired in honor of the 35th anniversary of Paloma’s collaboration with Tiffany & Co. would make for an absolutely major moment for Gaga to deliver on the Met Gala red carpet. As I was looking at runway looks that I really wanted to see on this years Met Gala red carpet I kept looking at this black and ice white Givenchy Fall 2018 Couture gown which features structured high neck, short sleeve crop top with a sash train layered over a silk column gown. This gown was Clare Waight Keller’s tribute to the late Hubert de Givenchy and was inspired by one of the creations he made for her costumes in the film Funny Face. I wasn’t sure who should wear it. I knew it needed to be someone with height. Then Nicole Kidman popped into my head. She has the height, grace and elegance to truly bring this look to life on this red carpet. Styling this look with a retro updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of silver crystal embellished black satin Sergio Rossi cross strap peep toe sandals, and a selection of vintage jewels from Fred Leighton including a pair of white diamond and pearl tear drop pendant earrings, a selection of delicate white diamond and sapphire art deco bracelets, and two early 20th century art deco Burmese sapphire and white diamond rings would make sure this retro glam look delivers regal perfection.Rounding out this list is the always beautiful Taylor Swift. The songstress has always been one to deliver chic moments on the red carpet. She has worn super glamorous gowns from J. Mendel, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, and Badgley Mishka as well as an edgy Louis Vuitton cocktail dress in past years. I decided to dig into the archives of one of my favorite, yet underrated design houses Viktor & Rolf for the perfect gown for Taylor to wear on this red carpet. This strapless ballgown which features a black and pink beaded corset bodice and a tulle skirt angular cut hailed from one of my favorite Viktor & Rolf collections, Spring 2010 RTW. The edgy cut tulle designs were rocked at the time by Rihanna, Katy Perry, Jessica Alba, & Anna Paquin. When this gown was first presented Taylor was in her fledgling country princess days, so it never would have even been an option for her. Given her style transformations over the years from princess to sex pot to lady I feel like now is the perfect time for Taylor to pull this glamorous, yet inherently edgy, moment out of the Viktor & Rolf archive and give it the red carpet moment it deserves. Taylor would infuse a sense of classic glamour into this moment. It would definitely be a perfect interpretation of the theme of this years Met Gala “About Time: Fashion and Duration” especially when styled with a loose romantic updo, thick winged cat eyes, punchy pink lips, a pair of rose gold glitter and crystal Christian Louboutin ‘Degrastrass’ pointed toe pumps, and a dazzling Gismondi 1754 white diamond teardrop wreath necklace.

2020 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 16

Today’s Met Gala wish list is all about firsts. I think that the theme of “About Time: Fashion and Duration” is perfect for firsts. Timelines have to start somewhere. In each of my wishes today I am going to feature a first to come to the Met Gala red carpet. Most of the wishes are for new stars to receive their first invitation to walk those famed red carpeted steps, but there are also a couple of wishes for new labels to be featured on the Met Gala red carpet. I am hoping that lots of major beginnings happen on this years red carpet. So why don’t we get right on into the wishes shall we? I am always ready for a great couples moment on the red carpet. This year I would love to see Dylan Sprouse & Barbara Palvin make their Met Gala red carpet debut, both as a couple and as individuals. Last year it was all about Dylan’s twin brother Cole and his former girlfriend Lili Reinheart and now I am hoping that Dyan and Barbara will get their turn. I was looking at menswear and definitely wanted to see this black Balmain Pre-Fall 2020 crystal embellished skinny shawl lapel button-less tiger print tuxedo jacket to see on the red carpet and I immediately thought of Dylan. I don’t know what it was about the jacket that screamed Dylan to me since he has never worn Balmain before, but I would love to see him make this classic yet extra and fun moment perfect for the Met Gala red carpet with a crisp white button up buttoned all the up, without a tie, a pair of skinny tuxedo pants, a satin cummerbund, and a pair of black suede Balmain ‘Karen’ silver cap toe ankle boots. Now for Dylan’s former Victoria’s Secret Angel supermodel girlfriend Barbara Palvin. She is a face of Armani Beauty so when I was trying to think of the perfect person to wear this black Armani Prive Fall 2016 Couture gown which features a sheer long sleeve bodice with beaded “pockets” on the breasts, a poufy peplum, and a flared velvet skirt with a long train It just clicked as a great moment for her. Now the sheerness of the top could pose a problem. I don’t really want to see boobs on the red carpet so trying to figure it out could include a black velvet bustier underneath, a black bra (another option I really don’t want to see), or a strapless bustier specifically made to match Barbara’s skin tone perfectly. The nude bustier is probably my favorite option. Old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of black leather Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen’ ankle strap sandals, and a selection of white diamond Djula jewels up one ear would definitely make this look come to life on the red carpet. Both of these looks would compliment each other extremely well and make for a major moment for these two to rock for their first Met Gala red carpet. It has been a while since I have really loved the look that Karlie Kloss has worn on the Met Gala red carpet. Honestly I’m not the biggest fan when it comes to the looks Karlie decides to wear on the red carpet. I decided that for this year’s Met Gala that Karlie would be the perfect choice to give New York City based label Marina Moscone designed by sisters Marina and Francesca Moscone its first Met Gala red carpet moment. The label has had great moments at the BAFTA Awards on Zazie Beetz and at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Martha Hunt, and I feel like they are ready for their first Met Gala. I LOVE this cream Marina Moscone Fall 2020 RTW silk-blend gown which features a partially lined relaxed fit, shift silhouette, leopard print, floor length fringe throughout, a rounded neckline, and long sleeves. It was definitely one of my favorite stand out moments to come out of New York Fashion Week and I think that it gives nods to several eras in fashion. There’s 20s, 60’s, 70’s, and 90’s inspiration in this look and I really want to see Karlie bring this look to life in the perfect way on the red carpet. I think that this gown styled with a romantic updo, defined eyes, dark cherry red lips, simple cream nappa leather Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ ankle strap sandals, and a pair of dazzling rose gold set Messika High Jewelry ‘Diamond Catcher’ feather inspired white diamond drop earrings would definitely ensure that Karlie makes sure that Marina Moscone has a major moment for their Met Gala debut. Meryl Streep is going to make her Met Gala debut this year as she is one of the co-chairs of this years event alongside Anna Wintour, Emma Stone, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Nicholas Ghesquiere. It is shocking to think that the queen of cinema has never attended a Met Gala before, but it is true. I would imagine that Meryl will most likely wear a custom Louis Vuitton design, especially since her stylist Micaela Erlanger works very closely with the house, but I looked at the latest runway show and I just didn’t imagine Meryl wearing any of the looks. So I went back to the drawing board. I had saved almost 700 looks to consider for stars to bring to life on this red carpet, so I went searching for a look that screamed Meryl. When I saw this champagne sequin and crystal embellished Celine Fall 2020 RTW long sleeve 70’s inspired peasant dress and thought it would be the great base for a super custom gown for Meryl to wear on this red carpet. Lengthen the skirt to hit the floor and add a sweeping train would definitely make this a major moment on the red carpet. Now Celine creative director Heidi Slimane is known for his super skinny size 0 models. Meryl has curves so I don’t know if he would create a custom gown for her, but he should. I can imagine how major of a moment this could be and it would be a shame for it not to happen. A chic updo, defined eyes, punchy pink lips, a gold Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ mirrored stingray leather clutch, a pair of gold Roger Vivier ‘Flower Strass Buckle’ pointed toe pumps, and a selection of vintage Bulgari jewels including white diamond framed emerald cut emerald stud earrings and an 18k gold set white diamond and emerald coil ring worn on her index finger would all make sure this look just oozes effortless bohemian glamour from head to toe for Meryl’s first time walking the famed Met steps. Olivia Culpo has also never walked a Met Gala red carpet. It honestly depends on the moment on whether or not I even think she should. I was looking that this black Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2020 strapless a-line dress which features a strapless velvet bustier bodice and intricate art deco inspired gold beading thinking about bow it would be amazing customized into a floor length gown. That custom gown definitely speaks to the theme of this years gala. I was racking my brain for the perfect person to bring the gown to life on the red carpet and I got the thought of Olivia wearing the gown and it was a great idea. The look screams glamour and I imagine that with old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, red lips, a black crocodile pattern stamped satin Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ clutch, a pair of two tone bronze and gold Sophia Webster ‘Nicole’ ankle strap sandals, and a statement 18k gold Buccellati ‘Serendib’ white diamond and black sapphire collar necklace that this look would be glamour defined from head to toe. Yara Shahidi is one of my favorite red carpet stars, but I just haven’t loved any of her past Met Gala moments. I really want to see Yara bring the drama to this years red carpet. I decided to pick Yara to be the first celebrity to bring Christopher John Rogers to life on the Met Gala red carpet. The designer won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize last year and I can imagine that he will be bringing the drama to this years red carpet. The Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW collection was full of major moments that could be major moments on this years red carpet. This emerald green silk cap sleeve ballgown has a dramatic skirt with a major tulle crinoline underneath is different than anything Yara has worn before. It honestly could skew a little old. I want to see Yara rock this gown perfectly fit to her torso, perfectly steamed with a teased afro bun, defined eyes, ruby red lips, a pair of black and green Gucci ‘Crawford’ knotted metallic leather platform sandals, and a statement Bulgari High Jewelry ‘Cinemagia’ collar necklace set in pink gold with amethysts, tourmalines, moonstones, emerald beads, and white diamonds to really make sure that Yara gives Christopher the first major Met Gala moment his label deserves.

PARIS FASHION WEEK FALL 2020 RTW RED CARPET WISH LIST PART 1

Paris Fashion Week might be long over, but as red carpet events are being cancelled due to Corona Virus I thought well best not to let the wishes that danced around my head as I watched the livestreams of these shows and flipped through the lookbooks on Vogue Runway. As Robert Fripp once said “In strange and uncertain times such as those we are living in, sometimes a reasonable person might despair. But hope is unreasonable and love is greater even than this. May we trust the inexpressible benevolence of the creative impulse.” We must continue to embrace our creative and optimistic sides as we take in the news daily. So with that being said I am going to try and post a little more regularly. I am still trying to work out what content will look like moving forward, but it will all be focused on bringing a little bit of fantasy and escapism to my readers. 2020 Producers Guild of America Awards Red Carpet Wish List

Saturday on the eve of the Screen Actors Guild Awards the Producers Guild of America will hold their annual awards gala dinner. This is not usually one of the more star studded events of awards season, but we do see stars of nominated projects on the red carpet. That being said there are a lot of a-list celebrities who are nominated as producers this year including Charlize Theron, Ava DuVernay, Octavia Spencer, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Phoebe Waller Bridge. That alone is what we would typically see on this red carpet in terms of star wattage, but I also decided to add wishes for stars of nominated films and projects including Ana de Armas, Caitriona Balfe, Greta Gerwig, Katherine Langford, Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, and Scarlett Johansson. I think this could all make for a superb red carpet on the road to the Oscars.

The 2020 Producers Guild of America will take place on Saturday January 18, 2020.
