While the ceremony will be shorter this year, the Screen Actors Guild will still hand out its annual awards. The 2021 SAG Awards will air on Sunday, April 4, in a one-hour, pre-taped event, the show’s producers announced in early March. Hostless, and absent the normal banquet and red carpet, the shows producers have revealed that they still have a lot planned to honor the best actresses and actors of the year. I am very interested in seeing what the show will be and even more importantly what the fashion will be. With the abbreviated and pre-recorded show will the stars still turn out gowns and glamour? We will have to wait till Sunday night to find out. In the meantime let’s make a couple more wishes for what could be for this years show shall we? 
Despite all her nominations this season Cate Blanchett has skipped out on every single virtual awards show and I HATE it. I always love seeing Cate on the red carpet and I am missing her turning out looks. I’ve picked major looks from Alberta Ferretti, archive Armani Prive, and Lanvin and I am continuing that with the look I’ve picked as the must see moment for Cate to wear for the SAG Awards, even if I am doubtful that she will zoom into the ceremony. Cate has long been a fan of Givenchy and has worn looks from all of the brands creative directors. So I would love to see her try to sell me a look from Matthew Williams helm at the brand. I have been imagining Cate wearing this one shoulder white column gown which features a macrame detailed bodice and a tassel detail from the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection. This collection is far from one I really love, but I feel like this gown modified to be lined for modesty (which I am sure will happen for retail) would be a super edgy glam moment for Cate. We usually love Cate more in her classic glam moments, but when she serves up edge I am in love with her looks. I obviously would ditch the coat and style this gown with a sleek updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of white satin Aquazzura ‘Bow Tie’ crystal embellished pointed toe pumps, and statement aquamarine and emerald Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2020 drop earrings would make this a major fashion moment for Cate. 
Elle Fanning is nominated with her fellow The Great cast members for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. After her super glam custom Gucci gown with Fred Leighton jewels at the Golden Globe Awards I am dying to see Elle give us a super glam moment for the SAG Awards. Now as she isn’t nominated individually or presenting I’m not sure that we will, but I definitely believe that if this were a normal year that Elle would have served up a MAJOR glam moment. I just fell in love with this white strapless beaded tea length cocktail dress from the Georges Hobeika Spring 2021 Couture collection which features sheer detail, 3D floral embroidery, and POCKETS. I feel like Elle with her classically glamorous sensibility would easily be able to sell this look to me. Cocktail dresses for the SAG Awards aren’t really a norm for me, but I think that with a sleek retro inspired updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of white Sergio Rossi ‘Sr1’ crystal studded square toe ankle strap sandals, and a dazzling white diamond Harry Winston teardrop and scroll detailed collar necklace would definitely elevate this look to the level of glamour needed for a major awards show red carpet. 
Gillian Anderson took home both a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Award for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown. That same performance has earned her a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at the 2021 SAG Awards. She is up against her co-star Emma Corrin and I would say that it will most likely be Emma that takes home the Actor. Now in terms of fashion Gillian has exclusively worn Dior Couture this awards season. While I don’t hate her looks I also would love to see her branch out. I know Gillian has some fashion chops and I would love to see her give cozy glamour wearing this petrol blue knit Loewe Spring 2021 RTW long sleeve gown which features multicolored sequined strewn about, a thigh high split, and a knotted sash belt. While a knit gown is not something we would expect to see for any major award shows and I totally understand, but in lockdown I love the idea. Why not take advantage of it now? To make this look SAG Awards perfect for Gillian I would style it with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, light pink lips, a pair of petrol blue crystal embellished mesh Gianvito Rossi ‘Rania 105’ pointed toe pumps, and dazzling white diamond London collection by De Beers ‘Thames Path’ teardrop cluster earrings. 
There was a huge snub that the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards didn’t nominate Michaela Coel for her performance in I May Destroy You. Well the SAG Awards rectified that and I am hoping that she will bring us a major look. I went through a lot of options when I was thinking about what I wanted to see Michaela wearing for the SAG Awards. Ultimately I decided to go with a customized version of this rose gold sequined Off White Resort 2021 asymmetrical slip style dress which features thin spaghetti straps and the brands name embroidered on the front. I would customize this into a floor length gown with a bit of a train to really make this a glamorous moment for the first time SAG Award nominee to wear for her first ceremony. I would style this custom gown with a short afro, defined eyes, ruby red lips, a pair of rose gold Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ three strap crystal heel metallic leather sandals, and simple yet dazzling 18k pink gold set Hueb ‘Luminus’ white diamond cluster earrings to really make it a MAJOR fashion moment for Michaela to bring to life on the “red carpet.” 
Phoebe Dynevor might have been the Diamond of Bridgerton and I tell you that had awards season happened like normal that she would have been the Diamond this season as well. She rocked an edgy glam Louis Vuitton cocktail dress from the Critics Choice Awards and for the SAG Awards where she is nominated with her cast for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series I would have love to see her bring something feminine and romantic to the red carpet. I have been thinking about Phoebe wearing this blush pink Chanel Spring 2021 Couture a-line tea length gown which features thin straps, defined waist, tiered skirt, and red and white dot embroidery all over. It is gorgeous and I know that Phoebe would bring the statuesque elegance to the red carpet. I would style it with a sleek updo, soft dewy makeup with light pink lips, red leather Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen 100’ ankle strap sandals, and a selection of David Webb jewels including a pair of white diamond and ruby feather drop earrings and a matching ruby and white diamond cocktail ring to really make it scream glamour.

It would be a super cool edgy glam moment and I believe that Kerry would absolutely be able to sell this gown to me. Headed into the nomination this year Zendaya’s performance in Malcolm & Marie was buzzing a lot for different nominations. When the Globe and SAG Awards were announced I hadn’t seen the film yet and I was so mad that neither nominated Zendaya. That being said, I just didn’t love the film. It wasn’t about her performance because it was stellar, but it was a great performance with no substance from the script. It left me wanting more. I will say that even in spite of my feelings I was happy to see the Critics Choice Awards nominate Zendaya. Not only did they nominate her for Best Actress, but they will be honoring her with the #SeeHer Award. So we know that we are going to see Zendaya in some way on Sunday night. I hope that she heads to the studio where the host and presenters will gather to accept the #SeeHer Award and do so in high style. The last look today is for Shira Haas who I’ve done nothing but Chanel looks for all awards season long and I am not changing that idea any time soon. While I am almost always against brand ambassadors and consistently wearing looks from the same designer all the time I feel like Shira is the perfect ambassador for Chanel. She has a look that we don’t often see from the brand, but her edgy youthfulness works for the brand in a way that other Chanel ambassadors don’t. So as I was looking at looks for Shira to wear for the Critics Choice Awards I thought that this black and white liberty floral print halter gown from the Chanel Spring 2021 RTW collection which features a high halter neck with a pussy bow detail, loose fit blouse, fitted waist, and a high low fishtail skirt would be a perfect choice. This look meshes old Hollywood glamour, 70’s disco, and bohemia and meshes them all together perfectly. I feel like Shira would definitely be the perfect person to bring this look from the runway to real life especially if styled with her shaved head, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, 
Kicking things off is Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan whose performance in the film was absolutely phenomenal. I would definitely consider her a top tier candidate to take home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama trophy this year. With stars that are expected at multiple big events over the course of the year I tend to make a plan. I know all of Carey’s go to designers. Dior, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Erdem are all labels she is known to wear, and I was thinking about looking at looks for her I am definitely considering moments from all of them. I’ve already done Chanel and have Armani & Prada in the queue for other upcoming wishes so I turned to Dior for the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. I don’t know what it was about this fluffy nude pink Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture strapless ballgown which features pressed flower inspired detail on the bodice and a ruffled tulle skirt that spoke to me for Carey, but it does. She doesn’t go for big ball gowns for the red carpet, but I really want to see her go BIG or go home with her looks for the 2021 Awards Season. It is a bold take on bohemian glamour and is one of the few Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri looks I actually want to see on a red carpet. It honestly surprises me that it hasn’t been worn yet. Emerald Fennell is the breakout director of Promising Young Woman and one of the record THREE women nominated for this years Best Director award. I have to say that while the preview did not make this movie look good to me I absolutely LOVED this movie and what Emerald did with it. She’s also nominated for Best Original Screenplay so I really want to see her show up and deliver a super chic moment on the red carpet. History has already been made at the 2021 Golden Globes just thanks to the nominees in the Best Director category. This year a record 3 women are nominated and two of them are women of color. Chloe Zhao is one of them. She has been lauded since the film made its debut in Venice where it won 3 awards including the Best Picture award. So I am definitely keeping my eyes on her as one to watch this awards season. As I was looking at her past red carpet appearances it seems like Chloe avoids black tie events and really just rocks very comfy and casual looks for photo lines. It makes sense she is more behind the scenes thank in front of the camera glam. But with a possible run to Oscar gold ahead of her I have some superb options in mind to push her through awards season this year starting with this color blocked gold, gunmetal, and bronze sequin Tom Ford Spring 2015 RTW long sleeve column gown. It is definitely going to push Chloe’s comfort zone, but I do think it would be a really cool and glamorous moment for the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Even when she made the winning awards season run for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri she never made an actual appearance on any of the red carpets including the Oscars. Last up today is an emerging star who is quickly becoming one of the best Chanel ambassadors. It was in the lead up to the Emmy’s we first saw Shira Haas wearing some Chanel looks for virtual appearances to promote Unorthodox. Then she was one of the few in a couture gown for the Emmy’s. All of these looks came courtesy of Chanel. So I have a hard time believing that she would be wearing anything other than Chanel for this years Golden Globe Awards. I was looking at the collections and thought that this sand tulle Chanel Spring 2021 Couture sleeveless gown with features a drop waist, slight v-neck, knotted top, and a beaded macrame bodice. It is chic and bohemian and honestly something that is more Maria Grazia’s Dior than Chanel, but I absolutely think it would be perfect for Shira to wear for the Golden Globes. Schitt’s Creek took the Emmy’s by storm and swept in EVERY category during the show. The cast is one of the few who did it right by hosting a socially distanced viewing gala complete with it’s own red carpet. Annie Murphy showed up to that event in a black Valentino suit with a sheer bodice and some very interesting sneakers. It was cool, but for the Golden Globe Awards where her role in the show has earned her a Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role nomination, one she very well most likely win. I want to see her give us bold glamour wearing this black feathered Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features a dot printed one shoulder bodice, a sheer strapless bustier, and a velvet belted waist. Catherine O’Hara was never one I would watch on the red carpet, but her Valentino ensemble at the Emmy’s was phenomenal. I know that it was a RTW look, but it was a phenomenal get. With that in mind as I was thinking about what I wanted the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy nominee to wear on this red carpet and I thought well let’s get couture. It isn’t often that the stars of the TV comedy category are offered great moments from top tier designers, but I think that Catherine has that pull right now. I would love to see her snatch up this black velvet Chanel Fall 2019 Couture long sleeve column gown which features a bodice heavily embroidered with white, gold, and silver detail that comes down the shoulders and sleeves and a black velvet bow on the neckline. Dan Levy is definitely a fashion guy and isn’t afraid to push boundaries. For the Emmy Awards last year he rocked a grey Thom Brown skirt suit and it was definitely one of the most important fashion moments of the night. He’s been dressed by major fashion houses like Valentino, Prada, and Versace. But for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards where he is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role I want him to really give us a fashion moment. My final wish today is for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy nominee Michelle Pfeiffer. I go back and forth on how I feel about Michelle’s style. I hated the Brunello Cucinelli glittered lurex dress she wore last year, and this year I really want to see her give us superb glamour when she makes her appearance during this years event. I would love to see Michelle dive real deep into the couture archives and pull this beautiful red silk cap sleeve gown which features a v-neck, belted waist, seam defined hips, and a center split which hails from the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1986 Couture collection. I love vintage YSL couture. It is really all about cut and glamour and there are so many moments I would love to see worn on today’s red carpets. I feel like this sophisticated gown oozes not only glamour, but also sex appeal and I think that is perfect for Michelle. Regina King’s feature film directorial debut One Night In Miami is on the list of the AFI Awards Best Films of 2020 and I and couldn’t be more excited about the possibility of another awards season run for her. For this more casual event I would have loved to see Regina give us this super cool Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2021 moment which features a black and white polka dotted short sleeve knitted silk wool cotton shirt and a pair of grey and white pleated zebra printed crepe wide leg trousers with a wide black belted waist. I originally had a dress on this list for Regina, but this cool moment definitely spoke to Regina’s sense of style to me. It isn’t often we see couture at the AFI Awards since it is a casual luncheon setting and couture for noon is more reserved for photocalls in Cannes as opposed to luncheons in LA. That being said I felt drawn to freshly presented Chanel Spring 2021 Couture Unorthodox star Shira Haas. She has proved herself to be quite the Chanel girl after wearing several looks from the French luxury house last year including couture for the virtual Emmy Awards. I thought this black and gold tweed ensemble which features a sleeveless double breasted vest with big gold button and boot cut trousers was a very chic moment and I think that it would bring some cool girl couture to the AFI Awards red carpet. Finishing out today’s wishes is Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star Viola Davis. I always love seeing Viola on the red carpet because she has an immense love of color. So thinking about Viola wearing this bold royal purple knit Jason Wu Spring 2021 RTW short sleeve fitted dress with a round neckline. This was was one of the few looks from this collection that I really did love and I feel like it would be a beautiful moment on Viola. The way the knit would hug her curves and the color would look against her skin I just imagine. A full short afro, defined eyes, bold red lips,
