2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

We are getting closer and closer to this years Grammy Awards and I am still incredibly excited to see what will happen. From the live and in person performers to the nominees who might join the show from home. Now I will say that I’ve learned that in place of various celebrity presenters introducing the categories the Grammy’s are going to be paying tribute to the independent music venues who have been impacted greatly by the pandemic having staff from these venues present the various categories throughout the night. So I really want to see some major fashion moments from the stars who are appearing live performing and the nominees. The eight women in today’s wishes can bring the glam. So let’s get to the wishes shall we?Chloe x Halle have 3 Grammy nominations this year and I would love to see the duo serve us a LOOK for the “red carpet.” The sister duo is always a favorite to see on the red carpet and I really want to see them SHUT IT DOWN for their first ever Grammy nominations. I would love to see them rock some glamorous moments from Christian Siriano this year. I wouldn’t normally go for Siriano since these two can serve up some major moments from some of the top avant garde designers, but as I was on the hunt I saw the gown I want to see Chloe Baily bring to life and I was changed completely. I fell in love with the idea of her wearing this black Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2021 two piece gown with a cross strap bralet and a high waisted tulle ball skirt and I couldn’t shake the idea of her wearing this look even when I was looking at all the new collections coming out of Paris and the recent couture shows. I think that she would be able to sell this sexy, dramatic, and glamorous moment perfectly especially if styled with an avant garde updo of braids, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Illimiboot Strass 100’ crystal embellished mesh peep toe booties, and dazzling white diamond David Morris ‘Cherry Blossom’ round floral cluster earrings. Now for a chic complimentary moment I would absolutely love to see Halle Bailey rock this black silk Christian Siriano Fall 2020 off the shoulder mini dress which features intricate silver star embellishments, chain detail, and long puffy sleeves. I usually pick two looks from the same collection for these sisters, but I feel like this is a better choice. It compliments the big ball gown for Chloe, but in a way that allows for both to stand on their own in addition to standing together beautifully. I would style this dress with a pair of simple black mesh Christian Louboutin ‘Mariacar 120’ crisscross strap peep toe platform pumps, and dazzling white diamond David Morris ‘Illusion’ 5 row feather inspired drop earrings to make this look beautiful for Halle. Together this would be a major fashion moment for the duo to rock Instaglam for the Grammy Awards.Alana Haim, Este Haim, and Danielle Haim AKA just as HAIM are true fashionistas. They have rocked major complimentary moments from Chanel, Dior, Rodarte, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Versace, and Acne Studios on red carpets over the last several years. They love fashion and they aren’t afraid to rock avant garde looks on the red carpet. So when I was thinking about who I want to dress the sister group nominated for two Grammy’s including Album of the Year and who are performing I immediately thought of the cool girl brand of the moment Bottega Veneta by Daniel Lee. I’ve been obsessed with the Bottega Veneta Resort 2021 collection since it was first presented and I know that in a world where there are red carpets that stars would have been all over it. I picked three looks from the collection that work together perfectly to make for the perfect looks for these sisters to rock on the Grammy’s red carpet starting with a black corseted mini dress for Alana Haim, but I would want to see it customized into a floor length column gown. It would be a sleek and sexy yet classic moment and I feel that would be perfect for Alana especially styled with soft center parted waves tucked behind the ears, soft nude smokey eyes, taupe lips, black Bottega Veneta leather mesh gold chain detailed square toe pumps, and a selection of Anita Ko jewels including yellow gold set ‘Maya’ white diamond drop earrings, a yellow gold set baguette cute white diamond coil bracelet, a yellow gold link ‘Zoe’ bracelet, and another ‘Zoe’ bracelet inlaid with white diamonds. Moving to Este, the tallest of the sisters, I though that she would look gorgeous wearing this black silk halter gown which features a bandana scarf detail on the neck. It is sleek and sexy with a nod to the 90’s and the soft shine would make it a super chic fashion moment. A sleek side parted low bun, defined eyes, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of strappy black leather Bottega Veneta square toe ankle strap sandals, and a bit of sparkle via yellow gold set white diamond Anita Ko ‘Rope’ drop earrings would make this a super glamorous moment. Finally for Danielle Haim I added a pop of color to the group with this dusty mauve tiered knotted jersey fringe dress with a halter neckline that I would love to see also lengthened into a custom floor length gown which I would style with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, deep taupe lips, lilac Bottega Veneta ‘BV Curve’ woven leather two strap mule sandals, and a pair of yellow gold set Anita Ko ‘Snowflake’ white diamond cluster earrings. All in all this would make for a MAJOR fashion moment for the HAIM sister. After rocking what I imagine is either rented or purchased Tom Ford for the CMA Awards last fall I decided that I would turn to the brand once again for Best New Artist (and 2 more) Granny nominee Ingrid Andress. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her and I would love to see her literally shine bright wearing this silver Tom Ford silver sequin embroidered one shoulder gown with a sexy asymmetric silver chain collar and a side split for the Grammy’s red carpet. This is definitely a moment and I feel it in my soul that Ingrid would definitely be able to sell this moment to me effortlessly. Now I would swap up her CMA’s beauty look keeping those bold defined eyes, but styling the hair in a sleek updo and adding bold matte blood red lips to make the beauty vibe match the vibe of the gown. With a pair of black Tom Ford ‘Disco’ sculpted heel platform sandals and simple white gold Nikos Koulis ‘Universe Line’ geometric drop earrings with white diamonds in translucent enamel this look would scream dazzling glamour from head to toe. Following Ingrid who is a rising country music diva to a long reigning queen of modern country music Miranda Lambert. I can’t say that Miranda is one of my favorite red carpet stars, but when she gets it right she gets it right. I almost loved the Alex Perry look she wore for the CMA awards had there been better hair and makeup. For the Grammy’s where she is nominated for 3 gold gramophones and will be performing I went with a major color moment thanks to this bold emerald green Rasario Fall 2020 RTW draped one shoulder gown with a sexy split and a very small train. I feel like this color moment with a sleek updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, an emerald green Serpui ‘Mirela’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of MAJOR emerald green satin Mach & Mach white crystal embellished double bow rope detailed pointed toe ankle strap pumps, and a bit of sparkle thanks to white diamond and emerald Kwiat chandelier earrings with three pear shaped drops would make this look perfect.  Poppy is nominated for Best Metal Performance and will be performing at the non televised Grammy Premiere ceremony, so I want to see her serve a look. She has always given very avant garde moments on the red carpet that go from sweet to edgy and I want to see her continue to give a major fashion moment So I turned to this white Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 Couture mini dress which features a dramatic asymmetrical taffeta bow for her. I just feel like Poppy would be the perfect person to bring this look to life. She has has the stature to really make this look come to life. To really make this a perfect red carpet look I would love to see Poppy style it with a sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, crazy high white Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Tarifa’ platform peep toe ankle strap sandals, and a selection of MAJOR Yeprem jewels including a singe total surround white diamond ‘Chevalier’ earcuff and a matching white diamond whole hand ‘Chevalier’ hand piece worn on opposite sides of the body.

The 2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS Sunday March 14, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2020 E! People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

The 2020 People’s Choice Awards are TOMORROW! I am so excited to see what this event will be. I feel like there are a lot of surprises in store. There aren’t a lot of performers or presenters announced yet. So I don’t know how the show will work. This is a two hour “red carpet” hosted by Giuliana Rancic before so I would imagine there will be a good celebrity attendance. Today my wishes are full of some of the confirmed presenters and performers, as well as Dua Lipa who is nominated for 4 People’s Choice Awards this year. I had only heard of Addison Rae as a Tik Tok personality before she presented at the Billboard Music Awards last month wearing a full Valentino Fall 2020 RTW ensemble. I don’t know anything about her style, but I feel like she will bring some sort of chic look. I was looking at the Fall 2020 RTW collections and when I saw this pale butter yellow Lanvin Fall 2020 RTW skater style mini dress which features a scoop neckline, crystal embellishments on the straps, and an a-line skirt I thought it was the perfect look for Addison. It is chic and flirty moment and I feel it could help continue to push her into the fashion girl territory. Now I feel she rocked the Valentino gloves at the Billboard Awards as a nod to COVID safety precautions so she could definitely rock the ivory ones that the Lanvin dress was styled with on the runway. I personally wouldn’t it could become too kitschy and I don’t think Addison is established enough to fall into a moment in time kitsch. A sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, punchy pink lips, champagne platinum glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Jenique’ criss-cross strap peep toe platform sandals, and a pair of rose quartz and white diamond Brumani ‘Looping Shine’ collection stud earrings would all make this look the epitome of feminine chic. I feel like it’s been a while since we’ve seen Bebe Rexha, but she recently presented at the MTV EMA’s where she debuted some bold crayola red hair and she is going to present at the People’s Choice Awards tomorrow night. I have to say I hate the hair on her. The only person, in my opinion, to make this hair color work was Rihanna back in the early days of LOUD. I want to minimize the color so I went for a look for Bebe that I think fits her aesthetic (even though she doesn’t really have one) picking this black draped stretch satin Alexandre Vauthier dress which features a plunging neckline, open back, scarf draping on the hips, and an asymmetrical hem line. I feel the dress is definitely something that Bebe would be drawn to and I can see her making it a super sensual moment as well. I would pull the look together styling her hair into a chic finger wave updo with a beauty look that includes smokey eyes and lips to match her red hair and accessorizing with a pair of black Alexander McQueen crystal embellished ankle strap sandals and Amwaj ‘Vision in Blue’ white diamond and sapphire modern cross tassel drop earrings. Chloe x Halle are amongst the only performers (along with Justin Beiber) who are currently announced for the People’s Choice Awards. All of their performances at events since the pandemic hit have been studio recorded and played during the live show. I am hoping that we see the R&B superstar sisters take to the stage in person at the PCA’s tomorrow night. I have long been a fan of their style. They know how to rock some major FASHION. I would love to see them rock a new brand I’ve discovered thanks to Vogue Runway called Annakiki whose Spring 2021 RTW was all about taking intergalactic meets streetwear drama. I would love to see Halle wear the black sequined mini dress with pink 3D floral embroidered shoulder and for Chloe to wear the avant garde cropped interpretation of a white button down with high waisted black trousers. The looks are cool and chic which is exactly what the Bailey sisters are all about. I would style Halle’s dress with braids pulled back, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, black asymmetrical grosgrain bow detail Jimmy Choo ‘Aveline 100’ ankle strap sandals, and white diamond Harry Kotlar teardrop cluster drop earrings and Chloe’s trouser looks with a curly top bun, defined eyes, deep antique rose pink lips, bold hot pink Balenciaga ‘Knife’ pointed toe pumps, and white diamond Harry Kotlar ‘Scallop Silhouette’ dangle fringe earrings to really make these superb complimentary red carpet moments. Dua Lipa is the only person on this list who isn’t confirmed to attend the 2020 People’s Choice Awards tomorrow. I have really enjoyed seeing Dua continue to grow in her style choices. I am really hoping that if she steps out tomorrow night I would love to see Dua give us edgy glam wearing this Balenciaga Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a black sleeveless bodysuit with built in stiletto boots overlaid with a silver chain link mesh floor length tunic. This look is industrial glam defined and I definitely feel like it would be something Dua would be able to bring to life on the red carpet. She has lost the two toned blonde and black 90’s grunge hair coloring that she was sporting at the end of last year into this year and is back to straight black locks. Thank god. I would love to see Dua style this look with a sleek ponytail, statement black and white smokey eyes, bold matte red lips, and a pair of asymmetrical white diamond Messika High Jewelery ‘Equalizer’ zig-zag earrings. Finishing out today’s wish is the gorgeous Jameela Jamil who is nominated and presenting at tomorrow nights awards show. I go back and forth with Jameela and her style. I know she has potential but I don’t like the fit of many of her looks. So I went to one of the brands known for their fit with this emerald green velvet Vivienne Westwood Fall 2020 RTW mini dress which features strong shoulders, sweetheart neckline, corseted waist, long sleeves, and a draped mini length skirt. First I was drawn to the color of this dress for Jameela. It is a little shorter and sexier than we are used to seeing her wear, but I think that if Westwood would lengthen the look to hit mid thigh that this look would be a game changer when it comes to Jameela’s style. I would love to see her banged hair styled in a sleek high ponytail adding defined eyes, bold deep red lips, gold Jimmy Choo ‘Talika’ crystal embellished cross strap pointed toe pumps, and a pair of Amrapali ‘Kimya Fan’ graduated 18k yellow gold and white diamond chandelier earrings. It would definitely be among one of Jameela’s best red carpet looks ever.

The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards will take place tomorrow Sunday November 15, 2020.

2020 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

We are getting closer and closer to this years VMA’s. I feel like we still do not know what the show is going to look like and how it will be staged. I am really interested in seeing what the producers are putting together. I am disappointed that we won’t actually get a red carpet, but I am interested in seeing what everyone wears for their performances and to accept their awards. MTV did announce plans for the show to “[span] all five boroughs” to “pay homage to the strength, spirit and incredible resilience of NYC and its beloved residents.” I would be shocked if Alicia Keys, who does come across as an ultimate New Yorker, won’t perform. She is nominated for Best R&B thanks to her song “Underdog” which focuses on rising in situations that may be difficult. I went back to the same idea I had for Keke Palmer and picked a head to toe look for Alicia from black designers starting with an eggplant iridescent velvet Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW double breasted suit which features strong shoulders, slouchy sleeves, and wide leg trousers. I can definitely imagine Alicia sitting at a piano placed in the middle of a street in New York City as the sun sets performing “Underdog” in this suit. It would be made even better with a sleek updo with perfectly beat babyhairs, smokey eyes. glossy nude pink lips, a pair of black Brother Vellies ‘Bowery Palms’ feather detailed sling back strappy sandals, and white diamond Vanleles ‘Bridal Cuff’ marquis and pear shaped wreath earrings. When I head that Chloe x Halle were only given a place to perform in the VMA’s pre-show I was annoyed. First I don’t know how that will work. The pre-show usually takes place on the red carpet as guests arrive. Well there is no red carpet. So why not just call it the show. Second I feel like these sisters have been doing it for a while now and deserve the plunge to the main show. Either way I am excited to see what they and stylist Zerina Akers are going to cook up for the VMA’s. I decided to pick two complimentary looks from the David Koma Fall 2020 RTW collection for these ladies starting with a black slim fit wool single button suit with a white and green crystal embellished harness for Chloe Bailey and a black sequined jersey long sleeve mini dress which features a cutout neckline for Halle Bailey. The two looks are super sexy and glamorous and I feel like these sisters would own their respective moments at the VMA’s. To style the looks I would love to see Chloe with a sleek ponytail of braids, smokey eyes, deep red glossy lips, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Galativi’ crystal embellished mesh paneled pointed toe pumps and Halle with an intricate asymmetrical braid updo, thick defined eyes, deep red glossy lips, a pair of black patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Open Liloo’ crisscross strap sandals, and a selection of Gismondi 1754 jewels including ‘Prato Fiorito’ white diamond and emerald earcuffs and a statement white diamond and emerald ‘Cascata’ waterfall cocktail ring. The styling would definitely turn these looks into major moments. It was the custom red sequin ‘siren’ emblazoned Moschino gown at the 2019 MTV VMAs that told me that Lizzo was going to be a fashionable force to be reckoned with. I’ve been obsessed with her looks from Atelier Versace, Moschino, Mary Katrantzou, and more! She is nominated for two VMAs this year and I would have loved to see what she would wear for the red carpet this year. I was thinking about looks and I fell in love with this jade green Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2020 Couture gown which gives distinct 60’s palm springs hostess caftan vibes with its ostrich feather trim. It is super glam but definitely not a look that anyone could pull off. I feel like this is such a bold statement and I think that Lizzo has the presence to make it work. I would make this look even more major with a teased bouffant updo, smokey glitter eyes, deep red Pat McGrath glitter lips, a pair of gold trimmed Votette ‘Cindy’ pointed toe PVC pumps, and statement Mateo NY 14k gold and white pearl ‘Blizzard’ mobile drop earrings. Machine Gun Kelly will also be performing at the 2020 VMAs “pre-show” what ever that means. The rapper is definitely known to serve a cool menswear moment and I am praying we see that from him at the 2020 VMA’s. We’ve seen him pull looks from Calvin Klein by Raf Simons, Comme de Garcons, and Saint Laurent but instead of going to one of those top tier labels instead I wanted to see MGK rock a look from Netflix’s Next In Fashion Season 1 runner up Daniel W. Fletcher. I LOVE this look which features a black tuxedo coat, a white unbuttoned button down, a pair of boot cut white piped slashed trousers, and a wide white asymmetrical cummerbund from his Fall 2020 Menswear collection titled “Start Me Up.” It is a cool new take on the classic tuxedo and I feel like that is what MGK is into. Only thing I would add a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Trapman Flat’ formal combat style leather boots and two Jacob & Co necklaces including a white gold set white diamond studded ‘Safety Pin’ necklace and a white diamond asscher cut cross pendant necklace to really make this look super cool. Finishing out this list is the gorgeous Taylor Swift who is nominated for 5 VMA’s. We haven’t heard about Taylor performing or making any appearances at this years event. I won’t lie to you I’m not loving her new album, but I would love to see her give a super soft glam moment inspired by the aesthetic the album gives wearing this grey and white marbled pattern chiffon Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture one shoulder gown which features a defined waist, ruffle detail on the shoulder, an a-line skirt, and a thigh high split. It is the soft moody glam effortless elegance that is woven in the music from Folklore and I feel like it would be a gorgeous gown on Taylor. It would also be a gorgeous gown if she does perform a song like “Cardigan.” A romantic curly updo, soft defined smokey eyes, light pink lips, a pair of iridescent silver Christian Louboutin ‘Spikaqueen’ crystal embellished PVC pointed toe ankle strap pumps, and a selection of elegant Kwiat jewels including a pair of white diamond ‘Legacy Petal’ floral teardrop earrings and a white diamond ‘Entwine’ 4-row cuff bangle bracelet would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on Sunday August 30, 2020. You can see all my VMA’s wishes here.

2020 BET Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Due to COVID-19 the 2020 BET Awards have gone virtual and there will be no red carpet. This is the first major awards show that will being going virtual and I will be intrigued to see how the stars that do partake do so. Will there be glam squads and wardrobe? I don’t know. I am running my wishes for this years red carpet based on the nominees and some of the confirmed performers and guests of this years event, but wishing as though the event was going to have a big red carpet. I’m doing so because I don’t expect that we will see big fashion moments from this event virtually, but I still want to escape to what could have been had the red carpet actually taken place. Alicia Keys is nominated for the BET HER Award and will also be a performer on the virtual telecast. I have always been intrigued by Alicia’s sense of style. It is very conservative but with some flare. Had she walked the red carpet this year I would have loved to see Alicia rock the red carpet wearing this plum Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2020 jumpsuit which features long sleeves, a dramatic cape, sash belted waist, keyhole cutout, and wide legs. The look is modern and sleek yet very much disco inspired. I feel like this is definitely a look that Alicia would be drawn to. Sleek yet surprising and the color is EVERYTHING. A braided updo, defined eyes, deep burgundy lips, a pair of gold metallic leather Aquazzura ‘Gardena 120’ platform strappy sandals, and statement MATEO New York 14k gold pearl and white diamond crescent moon chandelier earrings all would definitely have made this a major red carpet moment for Alicia. Chloe x Halle just dropped an amazing new album and I am super disappointed we won’t get to see them making the rounds on the red carpets performing at different awards shows to promote it. They are nominated for Best Group at this years BET Awards and are slated to perform during the virtual ceremony. I always love seeing this this sister duo bring the fashion to the red carpet. They always wear the perfect complimentary looks from some of the best design houses out there. I was looking for the perfect look for Alicia Keys to wear from Oscar de la Renta actually when I saw these two looks that I thought were perfect for the sister duo. I honestly don’t think we’ve ever seen Oscar de la Renta at the BET Awards, but I love the idea of Chloe x Halle bringing the sophisticated glam to this red carpet in these two uber glamorous moments from the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2020 RTW collection. For Chloe Bailey, the taller of the sisters, I went with this hot pink cotton-bled moire draped peplum strapless bustier top and black high rise straight leg wool-blend trousers. The look is definitely a cool take on the classic Oscar de la Renta glamour and I think that with a bun of braids, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, a hot pink L’Afshar ‘Ida’ croc leather top handle evening bag, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies’ floral arabesque beaded mesh pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Butani jewels including a pair of white diamond teardrop waterfall earrings and a geometric white diamond ‘Constellation’ choker necklace would definitely have make this look head to toe perfection. Now for Chloe Bailey I went for more of a dramatic take on the classic LBD opting for this black faux one shoulder asymmetric origami draped voluminous cocktail dress. The dress is one of my favorites from the Fall 2020 RTW collections and I definitely think that Halle would be able to sell it to me with ease especially styled with a high ponytail of braids, smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, a pair of hot pink Christian Louboutin ‘Galativi’ pointed toe suede and mesh paneled pumps, and statement Butani white diamond three strand diamond garland hoop drop earrings. Jennifer Hudson has been missing from the red carpet since the Cats premiere in December. I think the fact the movie bombed had a lot to do with why we didn’t see Jennifer on the red carpets over the course of awards season. So I was excited to see that her name is on the list of performers for the 2020 BET Awards. I would have really loved it had there been a red carpet for her to walk. I picked a look for Jennifer that I really wanted to see her wearing had there been a red carpet, but also I think that this red sequin Markarian pajama style suit with a gold crystal embellished chain belt would be a great look for her to rock for the video call performance for this years virtually shot awards show. It’s easy and effortless but with a whole lot of pizazz and glamour. That is what I think Jennifer’s style has become. This look is really cool and it would have definitely been a major BET Awards red carpet moment. Style it with a sleek side parted bob, thick defined eyes, dark red glossy lips, a pair of classic red patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate 120’ pointed toe pumps, and simple sparkle via rose gold set Kwiat Ashoka bezel set white diamond drop earrings and I know that Jennifer would have shut the red carpet down. Megan Thee Stallion has become a style star whom I never expected to love. A year ago I knew who she was, but not about her style. Since then we’ve seen her rock looks from Coach, Versace, and more. She gives bold color and high glamour when she steps out on the red carpet. I decided for the BET Awards where Megan is nominated for FIVE awards and also will be a performer that I wanted to go for uber sexy glamour. So I picked this black sequined Sergio Hudson long sleeve fitted cocktail dress which features small puffy shoulders, a plunging neckline, and a daring thigh high split. I knew I wanted to include Sergio Hudson in these wishes and the moment I saw this dress I knew it was PERFECT for Megan Thee Stallion. I also knew immediately how I wanted to see it styled. Glamorous old Hollywood waves worn over one shoulder, thick winged smokey eyes, bold matte red lips, the MAJOR black Christian Louboutin ‘Zoom’ fishnet tights peep toe boots, a black three tier fox fur stole with tails, and some dazzling Lorraine Schwartz jewels including a pair of geometric white diamond and black jade drop earrings and a statement white diamond and emerald shard cocktail ring were exactly how I think Megan would tie this look together to ensure she would have been the definition of sexy glamour from head to toe. The final look for today is for the always gorgeous and risk taking Tracee Ellis Ross whom is nominated at the 2020 BET Awards for Best Actress. I love me some Tracee Ellis Ross in Black-ish and The High Note. She is definitely one of my favorite actresses and is definitely one of the best style stars out there. So I really wanted to go out there in my wish for what I would have wanted to see her wear on the red carpet at the BET Awards. VOGUE Runway has been celebrating the appointment of Givenchy’s new creative director and the lead up to couture by posting archival collections from the label. They started with the Givenchy Fall 1995 Couture collection which was Hubert de Givenchy’s final collection at the helm of the label he created and that bears his name. As I was flipping through the looks having been obsessed with archival runway shows for several months now I saw this red sequin fringe column gown which features long sleeves and a plunging neckline and I knew immediately it was going to be a perfect wish for Tracee. So when I was looking at what to do for Tracee for the BET Awards I knew this would have been perfect. I definitely can imagine Tracee making this this such a dazzling moment especially if styled with big teased center parted curls, defined smokey eyes, nude glossy lips, a red Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ metal faceted clutch, a pair of red Aquazzura ‘Tequila’ crystal embellished leather strappy ankle strap sandals, and a selection of major IVY New York jewels including statement white diamond stitched drop earrings and a major red spinel and white diamond cocktail ring.

The virtual BET Awards will take place on Sunday June 28, 2020 at 8pm on BET, BET Her, & CBS.

2020 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 36

With this year’s annual Met Gala postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis, we are mourning what is typically one of the most glamorous red carpet events of the year. The star-studded affair was supposed to be held on May 4 this year and in the past, it has produced some iconic red carpet looks. With this years theme being “About Time: Fashion and Duration” I am praying that we see major glam moments on this years red carpet, if and when it happens. The looks in today’s wishes are a mix of super glam looks off the recent couture runways, and archive moments for stars who have had major moments in the labels on red carpets over the years. I think this is the perfect way to honor this years theme. Chloe x Halle have never been to a Met Gala before, but with Halle Bailey taking the move to the big screen as Ariel in the live action re-make of The Little Mermaid. The sister duo was discovered and cultivated by none other than Met Gala red carpet queen Beyonce and if their Grammy nominations and Halle’s Disney seal of approval aren’t already enough to earn them an invitation Beyonce should be. Now these two sisters have rocked red carpets in complimentary ensembles from some of the most coveted labels including Versace, Iris Van Herpen, Jonathan Simkhai, Valentino, and Marc Jacobs. For this years red carpet I wanted to see Georges Hobeika have his first Met Gala moment, and I was looking at these black off the shoulder gowns from his Spring 2020 Couture collection wondering who could bring one of them to life on this red carpet, and well then I thought of how great they look together and how Chloe & Halle would shut the red carpet down in these gowns. Why only give Hobeika one major moment when I could give him two? So for Chloe Bailey, the taller of the two sisters, I went with the more 80’s look here with the gown that features the dramatic ruffles on the shoulder and down the side with a sexy split and more of an Audrey Hepburn moment for Halle Bailey with the satin bow detailed beaded gown. Each one on its own is gorgeous, but I know these two ladies would really make these looks come to life. Styling both with complimentary braided updo’s, smokey eyes, bold red lips would be perfect. The shoes and the jewelry for each look are not matching though as the styling needs to compliment each dress specifically while still being complimentary to the other look as well. For Halle’s ruffled gown I picked a pair of black patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Impera’ laser cut strappy pointed toe pumps, Gismondi 1754 white diamond and emerald waterfall drop earrings, and an infinity sign inspired Gismondi 1754 white diamond and emerald ring while for Chloe’s beaded gown I would add a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Spikaqueen’ pointed toe PVC ankle strap pumps, statement Gismondi 1754 ‘Rugiada’ earrings with emeralds and diamonds, and a matchingCascata‘ cocktail ring to make sure these ladies are styled perfectly for their first Met Gala red carpet. Dita Von Teese has worn Elie Saab Couture creations for years. He had dressed her in costumes for her to take off during her burlesque performances, the Life Ball, and the Cannes Film Festival over the years just to name a few. I was thinking of this dramatic 60’s hostess inspired champagne feather trimmed gown from the Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture collection and how as a fashion moment it really would deliver the high fashion glamour to this years Met Gala red carpet. Now Elie Saab doesn’t dress too many stars on the red carpet at the Met Gala, but if anyone could bring his creations to life on this years red carpet it would be Dita. I know that she would definitely sell this look as the perfect retro glam moment with her signature waves, thick cat winged eyes, bold red lips, a champagne glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Palmette’ clutch, a pair of nude Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ pointed toe pumps, and pair of white and yellow diamond Chopard Red Carpet Collection drop earrings. Arguably one of the most iconic Oscar fashion moments ever was 2001 when Julia Roberts wore a then vintage black and white Valentino Couture gown to accept her Oscar for Erin Brockovich. So as I was looking through archives I thought what better time to have her pull out another vintage Valentino moment than this years Met Gala? Now Julia hasn’t attended a Met Gala since 2008 when she co-chaired the “Superheros: Fashion and Fantasy” themed gala with Giorgio Armani and George Clooney, but I think that since her iconic Oscar gown would fit in this years exhibition perfected (and it definite should be called in) and vintage a great way to express this years theme, while also being perfectly on trend with sustainability, that Julia would be the perfect date for Mr. Valentino himself to bring to this years gala wearing this fabulous moment from the Valentino Fall 1990 Couture collection. The one shoulder pleated bodice silk deep teal gown with a beaded tassel detail on the hip is super chic and easy to get around the room in, but walking the red carpet wearing the midnight blue taffeta opera coat worn more like a shawl in the crook of the elbows creating a glamorous train effect would add the drama needed for the red carpet. This look is definitely one that can and has endured the test of time. I could see many designers sending a look like this down the runway right now. It is the enduring legacy of Valentino. To make sure this look is perfection from head to toe I would have Julia style the gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, deep ruby red lips, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Martina’ peep toe slingback sandals, and dazzling Van Cleef & Arpels white diamond cluster leaf earrings. I couldn’t talk about the enduring legacy of fashion without including the iconic pairing of Jean Paul Gaultier and Madonna. The two’s style history is so intertwined that they might as well be one story. So of course I had to dig into the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture archives for a major moment for Madge to wear on the Met Gala red carpet. While it would be expected for me to pick a bustier gown from the Gaultier archives for Madonna, but with the idea of timeless glamour as the central idea for stars to be inspired by I thought that picking this white ruffled tulle gown from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2000 Couture collection which features a halter neck, asymmetrical off the shoulder sleeves, mother of pearl armor like detail down the skirt, and a dramatic ruffled train this would be a super chic moment. Personally I have always loved when Madonna gives that 40’s glamour vibe she is at her best. I really want her to ooze that classic glamour styling this glamorous gown with a victory roll updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, an iridescent crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud/XL’ clutch, a pair of ivory Jimmy Choo ‘Emsy’ chevron-embossed patent leather sandals, and sparkle in the ears via a pair of Retro diamond earrings of scrolled design with tassel pendants, in platinum, 4.80 ct. round brilliant cut, single cut, and baguette cut diamonds from Kentshire to really brig the glamour to the Met Gala red carpet. There were several devotees to Clare Waight Keller on the red carpet, but none of them were as successful as Rosamund Pike. I never not liked seeing Rosamund on the red carpet wearing a Givenchy Couture creation by Clare Waight Keller and why not make it one for the road? While I am disappointed that Clare and Givenchy have parted ways I am hoping that several of the glamorous ensembles she sent down the Spring 2020 Couture runway. This black column gown which features a crystal embellished net bow cape, a corseted bustier, belted waist, and a velvet skirt is the definition of modern timeless glamour and I feel like Rosamund would definitely make it the statuesque picture of glamour on the Met Gala red carpet especially if styled with a sleek low bun updo, smokey eyes, bold red lips, black crystal embellished patent leather and suede Jimmy Choo ‘Katie 120’ bow detailed strappy sandals, and a selection of dazzling vintage Cartier jewels including white diamond paisley cluster earrings and a white diamond art deco cuff bracelet.

2019 D23 Expo Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

The D23 Expo is definitely an event where casual fashion and a bit of whimsy come together. I am super excited to see what everyone who will make the journey to Anaheim, California for this event will bring to the stage to promote their films. While my lists for this event have been relatively short by my typical standards I am sure that we are going to see a lot of stars on this stage. I try to set my expectations for every red carpet event realistically, but I feel like the stars who have projects that I am expecting that the fashion will definitely be on point. Following the surprising, but oh so welcome, casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel in the live action remake of The Little Mermaid I would be surprised if Disney doesn’t capitalize on that momentum to bring the young songstress to the D23 stage. We could also see some of the casting rumors for this film confirmed, or up-heaved again. I am ready to see Halle shine on her own. Literally I could not find a single red carpet photo where she isn’t attached at the hip to her sister Chloe Bailey. Halle, seen right in the velvet mini dress above, seems to have a very feminine style. That being said all of her red carpet looks have been styled in conjunction and to compliment what Chloe is wearing too. I know they are close, but I want to see their style shine on an individual level as well as a duo. For D23 I would love to see Halle take the stage wearing this white guipure lace Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2020 cocktail dress which features structured short puffy satin sleeves, a collar neckline, cutout v, and a black lining. It is flirty and feminine while also being structured and dramatic. I think it would be an amazing moment for Halle to bring to life as her first major solo red carpet appearance. Now typically I would pick silver, pink, or white shoes to compliment this dress, but for the sake of Halle playing Ariel I decided to go with a pair of dark red metallic crackled leather Sergio Rossi ‘SR Milano’ pointed toe pumps. A bun of braids, defined eyes, and glossy lips would finish this look perfectly to really ensure that Halle owns this stage. Black Widow was just officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con and is expected to be released in May of next year. I am hoping that means that Scarlett Johansson will be in attendance at D23 this year to help continue to build buzz for the film. I am starting to love ScarJo’s wardrobe choices again after a long period of being rather underwhelmed. She has been killing looks so far this year and I want to see that continue at D23. I went sexy and effortless with this terracotta orange Versace Fall 2019 RTW off the shoulder cutout satin dress which features A-line silhouette, long sleeves, a slim cutout at the chest, a thigh high split, and a metallic chain at the front for Scarlett to wear on the D23 stage. It is definitely more sexy than I would typically pick for a daytime event like D23, but if anyone could make this look come off as effortless it would be Scarlet especially if it was styled with a loose wavy bob, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of gold Tom Ford ‘Padlock’ metallic leather pointed toe pumps. Angelina Jolie has several projects coming out in conjunction with Disney so following her appearance at the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con I am definitely hoping to see the actress on the stage at D23 next month. Out of all her current projects in queue I would most expect Angie to be at D23 to promote Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The much anticipated sequel is expected to be released in October and I am just praying that Angelina shuts down the world of fashion as she promotes the film. The first tour saw Angie wearing Atelier Versace almost exclusively. I loved the looks she wore for that tour, but I want to see a little more variety this go around. I am starting my wishes for her with a black dress. Now I am usually all about Angie pushing her color boundaries, but given the fact that the Maleficent wardrobe is typically black and it is Angie’s go to color I think that most of what I will pick for her for this tour will be black. That being said this black Tom Ford cape-back jersey cocktail dress which features a high neck, long sleeves, and a knee length is definitely not your basic LBD and I know with Angie’s regal elegance that this look would be effortless and cool. Pair it with a sleek bun, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Tom Ford crystal embellished bow detailed velvet pumps and I know Angie will make my heart swoon. Elle Fanning has already had a major year in terms of style this year with her run as a juror at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. The year isn’t over yet though and I am holding my standards high for what she is going to bring to the red carpets over the course of the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil promo tour. I have a feeling that the press tour for this film will kick off with the D23 Expo later next month. For the stage at D23 I would love to see Elle give us feminine elegance wearing this blue, peach, and white contrast gingham Prabal Gurung Resort 2020 midi dress which features an A-line silhouette, sweetheart neckline, butterfly sleeves, and contrasting panels. I saw this dress and it immediately clicked as a perfect moment for Elle to bring to life on this red carpet. A sleek high bun, defined eyes, punchy pink glossy lips, and a pair of silver and gold Sophia Webster ‘Daria’ PVC detailed pointed toe metallic leather pumps would definitely finish this look in the perfect flirty and feminine manner.

The 2019 D23 Expo will take place from Friday August 23, 2019 to Sunday August 25, 2019.

2019 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

While some of the big name stars like Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande might not be attending the Grammy Awards this weekend I am really excited about all those that are confirmed to attend. This years red carpet is going to be pack with fresh talent and that has me even more excited about what the fashion will be like than ever before. I’ve searched the runways, the online store racks, and created a bunch of custom gowns for this years red carpet and we see a little bit of all of that in this set of wishes. Cardi B has to be one of the stars confirmed to attend on Sunday night that I am most excited to see. Over the last year she has grown A LOT. I was not a huge fan of her white angel Ashi Studio gown last year. I thought it made her look short and stumpy personally, but since then she has made red carpet love with designers like Dolce & Gabbana (which I really want to see stop,) Tom Ford, and Moschino. I am really excited to see what she and her stylist Kollin Karter are cooking up for this years Grammy Awards where Cardi is nominated for five awards. I decided that since in the Nicki Minaj vs. Cardi B feud (of which I am totally #TeamCardi) that I would shade Nicki with a look that she would totally wear for Cardi. I created a custom Balmain gown based on two looks from the brands Pre-Fall 2019. I took an embellished Chinese pattern cocktail dress and meshed it with the black leather dragon and sheer paneling of another from this collection and created this skin tight column gown with a dramatic train for Cardi. The Chinese inspiration is definitely more of a Nicki thing, but since she didn’t get any Grammy nominations I definitely think that Cardi would OWN this look on the red carpet. It is bold, sexy, and could border on trashy. Cardi knows how to walk that fine line of sexy and trashy that allows it to work. A sleek high ponytail, dramatic turquoise smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Choca’ platform sandals, and gold Jennifer Fischer ‘Samira’ hoop earrings would all ensure that Cardi owns the Grammy Awards red carpet this year. Chloe x Halle are slated to make their first Grammy Awards appearances. The sister duo is represented by Beyonce’s label and are really picking up steam. I have been following them for a while thanks to their perfectly coordinated high fashion red carpet moments. They don’t wear the same thing, but they definitely always pick complimentary looks from the same designer. I decided to go for bold color and style with hot off the runway Rodarte Fall 2019 RTW looks for the sister duo to wear on the red carpet this Sunday. This collection was presented just three days ago and I am already ready to see it on the red carpet. I think that Halle Bailey, the taller of the two sisters, would rock the red carpet in this metallic fabric electric blue ensemble which features a puffy sleeved ruched crop top and high waisted draped slim fit pants while I went with more of a flirt ruffled cocktail dress with multicolored sequin details for Chloe. These looks are perfectly complimentary without being too matchy matchy. I would also pick accessories from the same designers with electric blue ‘Kiya’ embroidered cutout peep toe ankle boots for Halle and ‘Talana’ pointed toe pumps for Chloe from Aquazzura. I would also add a pair of akoya pearl Irene Neuwirth fringe drop earrings for Halle’s look. I would have Halle style her hair in a big braided bun on top of her head and Chloe do hers in full bouncy pulled back curls. Smokey eyes and glossy red lips would finish these looks perfectly.Kacey Musgraves is another of the country music stars who is bringing fashion to the red carpet. She has attended the Grammy’s twice in the past wearing Armani Prive, but while I definitely think that she could easily get a couture look for this red carpet I decided to go with a bold feathered look from Oscar de la Renta instead. I saw this black and white Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2019 strapless high low ball gown features a straight neckline, full feather embellished fabrication, fitted bust with full skirted bottom, and train and my heart stopped at the thought of Kacey wearing it. This isn’t an easy gown to wear, by any stretch of the imagination, but I definitely think that Kacey has the presence to really make this look work. It is a bold moment and a major risk, but that is what I expect on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. Since the gown itself is such a huge statement all on its own I would add black Gianvito Rossi ‘Britt’ silver crystal fringe trimmed heel pointed toe pumps, sleek hair center parted and tucked behind the ears, thin winged eyes, red lips, and a pair of Norman Silverman diamond cluster earrings to really make sure this looks is nothing but perfection from head to toe. Little Big Town is gearing up for a bust Grammy weekend. They are hosting the MusiCares Person of the Year gala honoring Dolly Parton on Friday and then the group will be performing at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. I saw them live last year and they were really fantastic and I LOVE what they do with stylist Karla Welch for the red carpet. Karen Fairchild has a very sophisticated yet sexy style and so when I was picking the perfect look for her to wear this weekend I knew that I wanted to see her rock an off the rack Alexander Wang gown on this red carpet. I didn’t even look at off the runway looks for her because I knew that this black Alexander Wang column gown which feature silver grommet detail on the shoulders and waist existed and it was honestly the first thing that popped into my mind. It has that strong, glamorous, and sexy vibe that Karen loves to bring to the red carpet and I know she would own this look too. It would be perfect with old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, smokey eyes, nude glossy lips, a black and silver crystal embellished Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ clutch, a pair of black Alexander Wang ‘Rie’ pointed toe pumps with silver stud detail, and modern glam Amwaj diamond fringe drop earrings.Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman is more of a bohemian spirit, but her looks are always well coordinated with whatever Karen (and the rest of the men in the group) is wearing. I knew I wanted to stick with black after picking that black Alexander Wang gown for Karen, so not far from that gown I found this black Roland Mouret ‘Kendray’ cold shoulder jumpsuit which features ruffle dotted tulle along the neckline, sleeves, waist, and a train and it was the perfect look for Kimberley. It is the perfect meshing of modern glam and bohemian style. It would compliment that Alexander Wang gown perfectly and still allow for Kimberley’s personality to shine through. I would finish this look with a pair of black crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Lisa’ star pattern PVC detailed pointed toe pumps, full bouncy curls, smokey eyes, red lips, and dazzling Amwaj diamond tassel earrings. Last up is Tori Kelly who is nominated for two Grammy’s in the Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music categories. She will also be performing at the Motown 60: A GRAMMY Celebration a few days after the actual Grammy Awards. She always wears very simple gowns on the red carpet and I don’t expect that to change any time soon. However if she wanted to add some flare to her style I could definitely picture her gliding down the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night wearing this orange watercolor pattern Georges Chakra Spring 2019 Couture ballgown which features an ombre crystal embellished bodice, plunging neckline, a satin belted waist, POCKETS, and a ball skirt with a train. It is definitely more of a statement look than we are used to seeing from Tori on the red carpet, but the Grammy’s red carpet is where one should take risks and that is exactly what this gown is. Add a curly updo, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, an orange Sophia Webster ‘Vivi’ clutch, a pair of gold Chloe Gosselin ‘Narcissus’ sandals, and statement Irene Neuwirth modern fire opal and diamond chandelier earrings to really ensure that this look is head to toe perfection.

The 2019 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday February 10, 2019.

2018 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Today we kick off my wishes for the red carpet at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. There are so many iconic style moments from the VMA’s over the years. From Lil Kim and her one boob exposed lace jumpsuit to Lady Gaga’s meat dress to Katy Perry and Riff-Raff giving Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake denim tribute this red carpet definitely never boring. I feel like music stars in general have the most fun on the red carpet and this red carpet they really get to have the most fun. So I am really excited to seeing what everyone who is nominated, performing, and presenting at this years event will bring to the red carpet! I think that one of the biggest questions we ask almost every year is “Will Beyonce be there?!” I don’t know the answer to this question, she is nominated for the first time as a duo with her hubby Jay-Z simply as The Carters for their viral music video “Apeshit” from their debut duo album EVERYTHING IS LOVE. They have the second most nominations with eight. They are only topped by Cardi B who has ten nominations. Will the Carters jet, privately of course, from their tour stop in Buffalo, New York on the 18th and head to NYC for this awards show on the 20th before jetting off to Colombia, South Carolina for the next stop on the tour on the 21st? I can honestly say I don’t know. I hope they do. The last time that Beyonce stepped onto the VMA’s red carpet she ended up making my Best Dressed of the Year list. No she didn’t just make the list she topped the list with her seafoam green beaded and feathered Francesco Scognamiglio Couture gown. Often we don’t see Bey and Jay walk the red carpet together but since they are nominated together I would imagine that if they do make the trip down to Radio City Music Hall that they will walk the red carpet together, or will the once again sneak in the back door like they did at the Grammy Awards? I went for more of a simplistic look that I would normally pick for Beyonce with this black Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture gown which features one long sleeve, a 3D beaded floral applique, crepe and silk fabric blocking, and a dramatic side split. While it is more of a simple and easy gown that what we typically see Bey wear on this red carpet I think that if we saw her walk the red carpet wearing this gown with Jay wearing a black velvet Tom Ford tuxedo that it would be a really chic moment for the power couple to bring to the red carpet. I would keep the styling almost as simple as the look with smokey eyes, a sleek updo, red lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ sequined peep toe pumps, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels including a pair of diamond and emerald drop earrings and a selection of diamond and emerald rings to really ensure that this look is just the epitome of modern glamour from head to toe. Bruno Mars has six nominations, mostly for his hit sing “Finesse (Remix)” featuring Cardi B. When it comes to the red carpet we know that Bruno will bring something effortless and chic. He isn’t one to bring a suit or tuxedo to the red carpet so I really wanted to go on a hunt for the perfect look for him to bring when he steps onto the red carpet at the VMA’s this year. I am obsessed with his song “Versace on the Floor” (I may or may not be listening to it right now) and I know that Donatella is obsessed with Bruno so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him bring the brand to the red carpet. I feel like this ensemble from the Versace Spring 2019 Menswear show which features a bold primary color baroque print long sleeve silk button down shirt and a pair of black patent leather skinny pants is just a little outside of what we typically see from Bruno, but something that he would own on the red carpet none the less. It would definitely take a really secure man to really make this look come across with effortless ease and I definitely think that Bruno has just that. Add a pair of black and gold Giuseppe Zanotti embossed leather mid top sneakers and Versace metal studded shield sunglasses to make this look that edgy and cool moment on this red carpet.Chloe x Halle have been on my radar for a little while now but this year I feel like their star is poised to really start to rise even more. They can thank Beyonce and Jay-Z for inviting them to tour the world with them as their opening act. I cannot say I have really listened to Chloe x Halle’s music, but I know the twins because of their style. I personally love their dramatic and avant garde style. I am really interested in seeing what they will bring to the VMA’s red carpet where they are nominated for Best New Artist and Push Artist of the Year. We have seen twin stars before where they go for the double trouble act, but that isn’t usually the case with these two. The twins wear complimentary, but not usually matching, styles and I love that. The two have been dressed by coveted high fashion brands like Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, Chanel, Elie Saab, Emanuel Ungaro, and Yanina Couture and it could easily be any of those brands that dress them. Rodarte dressed the relatively unknown duo for the VMA’s back in 2016 when Chloe x Halle were part of Beyonce’s squad. This is their first VMA’s nomination and I went down the go big or go home route picking two similar, yet different looks from Georges Hobeika Fall 2018 Couture for the sister to wear on this red carpet. For Halle (who is on the left) I thought that the champagne gown with beaded draped sleeves, a high low hem, feather trim, and a dramatic gown would be perfect while for Chloe I went to this ice blue feather gown which features crystal embellished illusion paneling with a dramatic split and train. Each look is really dramatic on its own, but I think that as the two walk the red carpet together that these gowns would really play off of one another perfectly. I would pair Halle’s gown with champagne Gianvito Rossi ‘Rania’ crystal embellished pumps and Chloe’s gown with blue Gianvito Rossi d’Orsay suede sandals, and that is about it. Their signature braided up-do’s and simple makeup would really let these gowns be the statements of the looks, and that is really all they need. Janelle Monae brought a rainbow of color during pride month to the red carpet at the 2018 BET Awards. That was out of character for her. Usually we see Janelle wearing black and white, with the occasional pops of gold, silver, emerald green, and red. I went back to that for the look I would love to see Janelle bring to the red carpet at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, where she has three nominations including Video With A Message. I went back to one of the first brands that really embraced Janelle, Chanel and this black Fall 2018 Couture bubble dress which features an embellished tank style bodice and a ruffled paper bag style waist. Janelle wears Chanel with such ease and I think that if anyone could make a hot off the runway Chanel Couture dress happen on the VMA’s red carpet it would be Janelle. I would pair this fun, yet very chic, dress with a braided mohawk hairstyle, smokey eyes, red lips, a Judith Leiber Couture cat eye sunglasses crystal encrusted clutch, black satin Sophia Webster ‘Lucia’ ruffle sandals, and a pair of Messika ‘Cassiopee’ diamond earrings to really ensure this movie is perfect for Janelle. Nicki Minaj is nominated for Best Hip Hop for her music video for “Chun-Li” and will be one of the nights many performers. Nicki is no stranger to the VMA’s and I am interested in seeing what she will wear this year. Shes given us everything from bubblegum latex to understated yet mini to sparkling glamour to sexy yet dramatic to just plain weird on this red carpet in the past. While she has rocked the likes of Atelier Versace, Givenchy Couture, and Tom Ford on the red carpet at the Grammy’s she has never rocked that level of designer for the VMA’s. I want to see Nicki really bring some sexy glamour and a major designer to this red carpet next Monday wearing this black and red watercolor print Roberto Cavalli Couture pleated gown which features a plunging neckline, open back, and side cutouts. I definitely think that this Cavalli Couture gown is something that Nicki would be drawn to and would be a really dramatic and glamorous moment for Nicki to bring to this red carpet especially if she paired it with a pair of red suede Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Coline’ winged sandals, sleek center parted locks, defined eyes, red lips, and a selection of Jacob & Co. ruby and diamond jewels including ‘Infinia’ circle earrings and a matching cocktail ring.

The 2018 MTV Movie & Television Awards will take place on Monday August 20, 2018.
