It has been a whirlwind this year seeing how the different major award shows adapted to still go on amidst the global pandemic. There was the hybrid virtual nominees and in person presenters presented from both coast of the United States, the fully remote Critics Choice Awards, and the scaled back yet in person Grammy Awards. Each award show so far has taken their own path with accommodating the public health orders across the country and the world. The Screen Actors Guild has decided not to do any sort of live event, which is totally different. Instead they will be airing a one hour special that will be pre-recoreded. So these wishes are really just thoughts about what I would like to see as I am sure that portions of the show have already been recorded. As we move closer to this weekends event let’s dive into the wishes I have today for looks I would love to see worn for the SAG Awards. 
Anya Taylor Joy’s performance as Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit has earned her both a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award. She has done so turning back to the same label Christian Dior Couture for both shows. It would not surprise me in the least if she will not be the next face of Dior, maybe the Miss Dior fragrance. It would actually shock me if Anya wore anything other than Dior for the SAG Awards special. I’ve loved this white and black sequined silk tulle Christian Dior Fall 2020 Couture spaghetti strap tea length ballgown since I first saw it. It was presented as a miniature collection on doll sized mannequins, but I would love to see the Dior ateliers take this miniature and create the full version for Anya. It is glamorous and sophisticated with a little bit of sex appeal. The vintage inspired nature of this gown blends together the iconic style sensibilities of both Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. To really make this look perfection I would style it with a sleek rose inspired updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of white satin Aquazzura ‘Celeste 105’ strappy crystal embellished sandals, and a selection of Bulgari jewels including simple white diamond and emerald drop earrings and a delicate white diamond ‘Wings of Rome’ feather inspired necklace. It would be DRAMA and GLAMOUR defined. 
Cynthia Erivo has shown up for the Golden Globes, Critics Choice, and Grammy Awards this year and has served a MAJOR look at each. For the Globes she wore a neon green Valentino Couture neoprene tea length gown, custom lace and tulle Vera Wang for the Critics Choice Awards, and then a gorgeous silver and gold sequin and bead embellished custom Louis Vuitton gown for the Grammy’s. Each look she’s served could easily be a Best Dressed of the Year contender and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next when she is a presenter at the SAG Awards this weekend. I would love to see Cynthia go for bold dazzle wearing this black and silver Elie Saab Spring 2021 Couture one sleeve sheer ballgown which features a 3D feather inspired feather detail on the neckline and a zebra inspired pattern. I feel like this moment is a major statement moment and Cynthia would definitely be able to sell it to me with ease. Now with this gown I would LOVE to see Cynthia style this gown with her signature bleached buzz cut, thick defined eyes, deep red glossy lips, black Roger Vivier ‘Mini Broche Vivier Buckle’ peep toe platform ankle strap sandals with a chunky clear crystal embellished plexi heel, a Maria Tash ‘Apsara Clicker’ white diamond septum ring, and a selection of MAJOR Djula jewels including a pair of white diamond cluster fan earrings, a single ear with top and side white diamond ear cuffs, and a selection of white diamond rings strewn about all her fingers to really make this another major fashion moment from the powerhouse. 
Dan Levy has also served up LOOKS this awards season. He’s strayed away from the typical menswear looks wearing canary yellow Valentino Couture wool and sequins for the Globes and victorian military inspired Dior Men for the Critics Choice Awards and each one is a Best Dressed of the Year worthy ensemble. I am expecting him to take home an Actor trophy for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Comedy Series this weekend and I want to see him do so in high style. I turned back to Valentino picking this very classic cut black Valentino Fall 2021 RTW tuxedo that was styled with a see through sequin mesh turtleneck on the runway. Now I don’t know if Dan is exactly the see through mesh on no undershirt kind of guy, and I am leaning towards no. So I’ve been wondering what I would like to see. Part of me want’s to see Valentino create a custom black liquid sequin top to layer under it or just go with a classic white t-shirt. Both would be cool moments and I am leaning towards the white t-shirt. His black thick rimmed glasses, the runways black leather boots, and a statement vintage white diamond Harry Winston flower brooch would make this a MAJOR menswear moment for Dan to bring to this “red carpet.”
Lily Collins is presenting at this years SAG Awards after helping announce this years nominees. It will be the first time Lily is partaking in a SAG Awards ceremony and I want to se her doing so in flirtatious glamour. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the bohemian glam custom Saint Laurent gown that Lily wore for the Golden Globe Awards. I know she has so much more in her. I would love to see her deliver this black and blush pink ombre asymmetrical Alexander McQueen Resort 2021 a-line cocktail length gown with an asymmetrical neck and a bow detail on the hip. It screams feminine glamour and that is what I feel like Lily serves up the best on the red carpet. While for most red carpets in and out of lockdown I don’t prefer gowns that don’t reach the floor I feel like the SAG Awards that a cocktail length gown is appropriate, especially for a presenter. I feel like with a sleek romantic updo, defined eyes, bold lips using Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick Drama Matte in Rose Lancôme, blush pink Alexander McQueen crystal ankle strap sandals, and a pair of Anabela Chan ‘Diamond Supernova’ white diamond, white sapphire, and ivory pearl chandelier earrings would make sure this look is flirty and glamorous from head to toe. 
Maria Bakalova was one of the new faces among the list of nominees this year and it turns out she is quite the fashionista. She has rocked some major glam moments during awards season so far with a raspberry red crystal embellished tulle Armani Prive ballgown and a black velvet Prada gown with a crystal tassel bow and I cannot wait to see what else lies in store for her over the course of awards season. I feel like custom is in her sights for the SAG Awards. Maybe Gucci or Dior. I wasn’t totally thrilled or inspired with anything that I saw, except for this white Marchesa Spring 2021 RTW orchid purple and grey hand painted floral print ball gown which features a statement crystal embellished halter neckline, open back, a-line skirt, and a sweeping train. I don’t know if Maria would wear Marchesa, but her stylist Jessica Paster would option the brand for other clients so I decided to throw caution to the wind and pick this gorgeous gown for Maria. While Marchesa still has the tainted stain of the Harvey Weinstein scandal on it I think that this moment on Maria would be perfect especially if styled with a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, silver crystal embellished Giuseppe Zanotti wrap-around ankle strap sandals, and a pair of sleek and glamorous Graziela Gems ‘Navete’ white diamond wreath hoop earrings.

Headed into the nomination this year Zendaya’s performance in Malcolm & Marie was buzzing a lot for different nominations. When the Globe and SAG Awards were announced I hadn’t seen the film yet and I was so mad that neither nominated Zendaya. That being said, I just didn’t love the film. It wasn’t about her performance because it was stellar, but it was a great performance with no substance from the script. It left me wanting more. I will say that even in spite of my feelings I was happy to see the Critics Choice Awards nominate Zendaya. Not only did they nominate her for Best Actress, but they will be honoring her with the #SeeHer Award. So we know that we are going to see Zendaya in some way on Sunday night. I hope that she heads to the studio where the host and presenters will gather to accept the #SeeHer Award and do so in high style. I went full feminine glam picking this flamingo pink chiffon Georges Hobeika Spring 2020 Couture asymmetrically draped gown. I was looking for the perfect look and this was really the only one that spoke to me. I know that she would know exactly how to work this gown to really bring it to life perfectly. Let’s kick things off with Awkwafina. I’ve enjoyed watching her style grow since she burst onto the scene thanks to her role in Crazy Rich Asians. I’ve really enjoyed her recent lockdown glam promo tour for Raya and the Last Dragon where she’s rocked looks from Dior, Versace, Miu Miu, Celine, Chanel, and Moschino in recent weeks. I want to see Awkwafina bring a super glamorous moment to the stage at the Golden Globe Awards picking this rose pink Christian Dior Spring 2020 Couture one shoulder pleated chiffon gown with a cape and a flowing a-line silhouette. While I might not be the biggest fan of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Dior I do love this soft feminine moment and I definitely can imagine it being phenomenal moment on Awkwafina. I always love seeing Catherine Zeta Jones on the red carpet so when I saw her name announced as a presenter this year I was THRILLED. She knows how to give sophisticated and sexy glamour on the red carpet without looking like she is trying. I was actually in the midst of picking an Elie Saab Couture gown for Cynthia Erivo when the announcement about Catherine came. I immediately dropped that idea in favor of putting Catherine in a gown from the Elie Saab Spring 2021 Couture collection. I saw this one shoulder silver gown with a single cape sleeve, intricate crystal embroidery, and a sheer skirt and it was seared in my mind. As I read Catherine’s name I knew it was the perfect option for her to bring to the stage at this years Golden Globe Awards. As I said above I was thinking about an Elie Saab Couture gown for Cynthia Erivo to wear as a presenter this weekend at the Golden Globe Awards. I was loving the drama, but when I changed courses and went with Catherine in Saab I needed to go back to the drawing board for Cynthia. Immediately I went to Christopher John Rogers for a dramatic moment. I thought about Cynthia giving us an 80’s inspired glam moment in this fuschia strapless crinkle pleated taffeta strapless gown from the Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW collection with an asymmetric tea length tulip skirt, thigh high split, and a dramatic train and fell in love. This gown is a risk because it is all the things about the 80’s we usually hate, but I feel like if anyone could sell it to me it would be Cynthia. Rounding out today is This Is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson. She has a bold sense of style and I am always rooting for her to succeed, but unfortunately it just hasn’t worked for me yet. I went for something I feel like I wouldn’t normally pick for the Globes red carpet when I picked this 
H.E.R. is nominated for Best Original Song thanks to “Fight For You” from Judas and the Black Messiah and I really want to see her bring a major look. Her glamour is all about meshing bohemian, rock and roll, and glamour. For her look for the Golden Globes I went with an 80’s glam inspiration with this black and white Jean Louis Sebaj Spring 2021 RTW gown which features a dramatic shawl lapel inspired asymmetrical neckline, a single long sleeve, wrap style skirt, and a thigh high split for her to bring to life for her first Golden Globe Awards red carpet. I saw this gown and thought it was super sexy yet still modest and all glamour. Kaley Cuoco would have made her first Golden Globe Awards red carpet since the end of The Big Bang Theory. It’s crazy to me that the comedienne is just now earning her first Globe nomination thanks to her new HBO Max comedy The Flight Attendant. I would love to see the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy nominee give us frothy glamour wearing this gold and ivory silk tulle strapless Vera Wang Fall 2009 Bridal collection strapless ballgown which features flower applique detail and floral crystal embellishment details. She had a breakout role in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and has landed herself a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. We haven’t yet seen her on an actual red carpet but she has been embraced by labels like Dior, Miu Miu, Giambattista Valli, and The Vampire’s Wife for promoting the film while still in lockdown. Finishing out today is Viola Davis whose performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom has earned her a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. This is her sixth Golden Globe nomination and I am always excited to see what she will bring to this red carpet. Over the years she’s worn Zac Posen, Emilio Pucci, Donna Karan Atelier, Marchesa, and Michael Kors for the Globes over the years and I am hoping she brings something major. I knew almost immediately that I wanted to pick this ice blue silk chiffon Elie Saab Spring 2021 ruched detail one shoulder gown which features a knot detail on the shoulder and a draped sash detail on the back of the waist. It is a superb moment and I can just imagine it being an absolutely glamorous goddess moment for Viola to wear for the Golden Globe Awards. Kicking things off is Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan whose performance in the film was absolutely phenomenal. I would definitely consider her a top tier candidate to take home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama trophy this year. With stars that are expected at multiple big events over the course of the year I tend to make a plan. I know all of Carey’s go to designers. Dior, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Erdem are all labels she is known to wear, and I was thinking about looking at looks for her I am definitely considering moments from all of them. I’ve already done Chanel and have Armani & Prada in the queue for other upcoming wishes so I turned to Dior for the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. I don’t know what it was about this fluffy nude pink Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture strapless ballgown which features pressed flower inspired detail on the bodice and a ruffled tulle skirt that spoke to me for Carey, but it does. She doesn’t go for big ball gowns for the red carpet, but I really want to see her go BIG or go home with her looks for the 2021 Awards Season. Emerald Fennell is the breakout director of Promising Young Woman and one of the record THREE women nominated for this years Best Director award. I have to say that while the preview did not make this movie look good to me I absolutely LOVED this movie and what Emerald did with it. She’s also nominated for Best Original Screenplay so I really want to see her show up and deliver a super chic moment on the red carpet. The last wish today is all about Jodie Foster who was a surprise nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture thanks to her performance of The Mauritanian. When it comes to fashion Jodie isn’t someone who is going to push boundaries. I would love to see Jodie who loves herself a good suit wearing this silver diamond pattern embroidered silk Armani Prive Spring 2021 Couture tuxedo with wide lapels, a crystal button, tapered trousers, and a black vest style blouse. Andra Day was a surprise nominee this year. It seemed like The United States vs. Billie Holiday was out of the running for awards this year, but Andra has collected a whole host of awards nominations this year. I love Andra’s sense of style and I really want to see her shine this awards season. She has a retro sensibility and I will be highlighting that in all of my awards season wishes starting with the major moment I would love to see her wear for the Golden Globe Awards. The moment I saw this Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture ensemble which features a strapless black column gown with a half moon neckline and a sheer paneled waist paired with a dramatic red silk opera coat I immediately thought of Andra. Now it does have a bit of the same vibe as Lady Gaga’s 2019 periwinkle Valentino Couture gown, but I think that the two looks are different enough that I wouldn’t have any issue with Andra wearing this look for the Globes. Schitt’s Creek took the Emmy’s by storm and swept in EVERY category during the show. The cast is one of the few who did it right by hosting a socially distanced viewing gala complete with it’s own red carpet. Annie Murphy showed up to that event in a black Valentino suit with a sheer bodice and some very interesting sneakers. It was cool, but for the Golden Globe Awards where her role in the show has earned her a Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role nomination, one she very well most likely win. I want to see her give us bold glamour wearing this black feathered Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features a dot printed one shoulder bodice, a sheer strapless bustier, and a velvet belted waist. We saw Annie wear Dior last year for the SAG Awards and I think this would be a perfect option for her to wear to win. It’s a favorite gown of mine and I am shocked it hasn’t been worn yet. Catherine O’Hara was never one I would watch on the red carpet, but her Valentino ensemble at the Emmy’s was phenomenal. I know that it was a RTW look, but it was a phenomenal get. With that in mind as I was thinking about what I wanted the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy nominee to wear on this red carpet and I thought well let’s get couture. It isn’t often that the stars of the TV comedy category are offered great moments from top tier designers, but I think that Catherine has that pull right now. I would love to see her snatch up this black velvet Chanel Fall 2019 Couture long sleeve column gown which features a bodice heavily embroidered with white, gold, and silver detail that comes down the shoulders and sleeves and a black velvet bow on the neckline. Dan Levy is definitely a fashion guy and isn’t afraid to push boundaries. For the Emmy Awards last year he rocked a grey Thom Brown skirt suit and it was definitely one of the most important fashion moments of the night. He’s been dressed by major fashion houses like Valentino, Prada, and Versace. But for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards where he is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role I want him to really give us a fashion moment. Now the image of this look is very dark and it might be difficult to see all the detail of the look, so I implore you to click here and really see what this black Maison Margiela Spring 2021 RTW double breasted suit with a wax painted abstract detailing on the pinstripe wool blazer. The pants have a ripped detail, but I think I would ask Maison Margiela to create a custom pair of pinstripe trousers with the same waxed paint like details. It would take this look from editorial to red carpet. Now is this anything close to the classic satin tuxedos we see on the red carpet usually? Oh hell no, but I love that about this look. It is different and it is cool which is pretty much how I would define Dan. My final wish today is for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy nominee Michelle Pfeiffer. I go back and forth on how I feel about Michelle’s style. I hated the Brunello Cucinelli glittered lurex dress she wore last year, and this year I really want to see her give us superb glamour when she makes her appearance during this years event. I would love to see Michelle dive real deep into the couture archives and pull this beautiful red silk cap sleeve gown which features a v-neck, belted waist, seam defined hips, and a center split which hails from the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1986 Couture collection. I love vintage YSL couture. It is really all about cut and glamour and there are so many moments I would love to see worn on today’s red carpets. I feel like this sophisticated gown oozes not only glamour, but also sex appeal and I think that is perfect for Michelle. I’ve said that I believe that Dr. Biden is secretly a fashion girl. Over the course of the campaign we saw Dr. Biden wear looks from brands like Dolce & Gabbana (which I never want to see her wear again) and Oscar de la Renta. I will be so excited to watch Kamala Harris take the oath of office to be the first female Vice President of the United States. Now while I really want to see Kamala bring some superb fashion moments to the political arena over the course of her tenure as Vice President, but I also know that isn’t going to be the case most likely. She loves herself a pantsuit and they don’t often fit very well. When I was thinking of the perfect designer to dress her for the occasion of the inauguration really the only designer who came to mind was Joseph Altuzarra. He is known for his sharp tailoring and so I went shopping on the runways. I found an amazing grey speckled wool trench coat and a grey wool double breasted pantsuit with a batteau neckline from the Altuzarra Fall 2020 RTW collection which I feel would be phenomenal on Kamala. This suit isn’t exactly anything we expect to see from Kamala, but I do believe that the fit and neckline would be incredibly flattering and strong. Now while personally I would have her go bare chested as the suit as presented on the runway that isn’t really Kamala’s sensibility, so I would style the look with a

I don’t think we’ve had such an iconic fashion first lady since Jackie Kennedy (though Nancy Reagan’s formal looks were pretty phenomenal) and I have really loved seeing how Michelle’s style has evolved since leaving the White House four years ago. Should we see her on the inaugural platform for the swearing in of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris I would love to see her give us a LOOK which is why I turned to one of my favorite New York based labels, Proenza Schouler. I went through lots of options from all of the typical labels we saw Michelle wear in the White House including Prabal Gurung, Michael Kors, and Marc Jacobs, but I really fell in love with this major grey peppered wool asymmetrical double breasted coat from the label’s Pre-Fall 2020 collection. I love the contrasting statement lapel and cuffs and I definitely could see MObama being drawn to it. Now underneath it I would love to see her wear this 
Last up for the ceremony is Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. While she wasn’t a huge Joe Biden supporter I know she knows that it’s better to work together than fight each other. I definitely feel like she will serve a look should she attend the swearing in ceremony. “You can also thrift and buy second hand online, which helped me get higher quality, longer-lasting things that would normally be out of budget,” Ocasio-Cortez just said to new Congresswoman Cori Bush about how to start shopping for a wardrobe worthy of a US Representative. So instead of going to super high fashion off the runway route for AOC I went to the online sale racks and resale stores to put together a chic look. The look is centered around a 
Lady Gaga will perform the National Anthem at the Inauguration Ceremony. Now I do not know if she will be there in person on the capitol steps or if her appearance will be virtual. Either way I would love to see her serve up a very chic and sophisticated moment by digging into the Brandon Maxwell runway archives. As I was going through Brandon’s past runways I was shocked by how many great moments still sit unworn including this ivory intricately pebble beaded print caped dress from the Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 RTW collection. The intricacy of the beading in this ensemble is phenomenal and I feel like it would be a beautiful moment for Gaga to bring to the Inaugural platform. Now should she be there in person she would need to keep warm so I would style the look with 
In addition to Gaga the incomparable Jennifer Lopez is also been tapped to perform at the Inaugural Ceremony. Her performance has been billed only as a “musical performance.” With the theme of the Inauguration being “America United” I would love to see Jennifer perform “This Land Is Your Land” or “America The Beautiful” in both English and Spanish and do so while serving a LOOK. I first started going down the suit route for Jennifer, but when I was looking at Elie Saab’s collections for a suiting possibility I saw this electric blue sequin one sleeve pleated gown with a scarf tie neck, a defined waste, and an a-line skirt and fell in love with the idea of it on Jennifer. It would definitely be a very major moment and one that would add a lot of dazzle to the inauguration platform. Now while I would like to see Jennifer perform in the gown alone, I know that keeping her warm while out on the platform is important. So I found this major
