We are getting closer and closer to this years Grammy Awards and I am still incredibly excited to see what will happen. From the live and in person performers to the nominees who might join the show from home. Now I will say that I’ve learned that in place of various celebrity presenters introducing the categories the Grammy’s are going to be paying tribute to the independent music venues who have been impacted greatly by the pandemic having staff from these venues present the various categories throughout the night. So I really want to see some major fashion moments from the stars who are appearing live performing and the nominees. The eight women in today’s wishes can bring the glam. So let’s get to the wishes shall we?
Chloe x Halle have 3 Grammy nominations this year and I would love to see the duo serve us a LOOK for the “red carpet.” The sister duo is always a favorite to see on the red carpet and I really want to see them SHUT IT DOWN for their first ever Grammy nominations. I would love to see them rock some glamorous moments from Christian Siriano this year. I wouldn’t normally go for Siriano since these two can serve up some major moments from some of the top avant garde designers, but as I was on the hunt I saw the gown I want to see Chloe Baily bring to life and I was changed completely. I fell in love with the idea of her wearing this black Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2021 two piece gown with a cross strap bralet and a high waisted tulle ball skirt and I couldn’t shake the idea of her wearing this look even when I was looking at all the new collections coming out of Paris and the recent couture shows. I think that she would be able to sell this sexy, dramatic, and glamorous moment perfectly especially if styled with an avant garde updo of braids, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Illimiboot Strass 100’ crystal embellished mesh peep toe booties, and dazzling white diamond David Morris ‘Cherry Blossom’ round floral cluster earrings. Now for a chic complimentary moment I would absolutely love to see Halle Bailey rock this black silk Christian Siriano Fall 2020 off the shoulder mini dress which features intricate silver star embellishments, chain detail, and long puffy sleeves. I usually pick two looks from the same collection for these sisters, but I feel like this is a better choice. It compliments the big ball gown for Chloe, but in a way that allows for both to stand on their own in addition to standing together beautifully. I would style this dress with a pair of simple black mesh Christian Louboutin ‘Mariacar 120’ crisscross strap peep toe platform pumps, and dazzling white diamond David Morris ‘Illusion’ 5 row feather inspired drop earrings to make this look beautiful for Halle. Together this would be a major fashion moment for the duo to rock Instaglam for the Grammy Awards.
Alana Haim, Este Haim, and Danielle Haim AKA just as HAIM are true fashionistas. They have rocked major complimentary moments from Chanel, Dior, Rodarte, Chloe, Stella McCartney, Versace, and Acne Studios on red carpets over the last several years. They love fashion and they aren’t afraid to rock avant garde looks on the red carpet. So when I was thinking about who I want to dress the sister group nominated for two Grammy’s including Album of the Year and who are performing I immediately thought of the cool girl brand of the moment Bottega Veneta by Daniel Lee. I’ve been obsessed with the Bottega Veneta Resort 2021 collection since it was first presented and I know that in a world where there are red carpets that stars would have been all over it. I picked three looks from the collection that work together perfectly to make for the perfect looks for these sisters to rock on the Grammy’s red carpet starting with a black corseted mini dress for Alana Haim, but I would want to see it customized into a floor length column gown. It would be a sleek and sexy yet classic moment and I feel that would be perfect for Alana especially styled with soft center parted waves tucked behind the ears, soft nude smokey eyes, taupe lips, black Bottega Veneta leather mesh gold chain detailed square toe pumps, and a selection of Anita Ko jewels including yellow gold set ‘Maya’ white diamond drop earrings, a yellow gold set baguette cute white diamond coil bracelet, a yellow gold link ‘Zoe’ bracelet, and another ‘Zoe’ bracelet inlaid with white diamonds. Moving to Este, the tallest of the sisters, I though that she would look gorgeous wearing this black silk halter gown which features a bandana scarf detail on the neck. It is sleek and sexy with a nod to the 90’s and the soft shine would make it a super chic fashion moment. A sleek side parted low bun, defined eyes, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of strappy black leather Bottega Veneta square toe ankle strap sandals, and a bit of sparkle via yellow gold set white diamond Anita Ko ‘Rope’ drop earrings would make this a super glamorous moment. Finally for Danielle Haim I added a pop of color to the group with this dusty mauve tiered knotted jersey fringe dress with a halter neckline that I would love to see also lengthened into a custom floor length gown which I would style with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, deep taupe lips, lilac Bottega Veneta ‘BV Curve’ woven leather two strap mule sandals, and a pair of yellow gold set Anita Ko ‘Snowflake’ white diamond cluster earrings. All in all this would make for a MAJOR fashion moment for the HAIM sister. 
After rocking what I imagine is either rented or purchased Tom Ford for the CMA Awards last fall I decided that I would turn to the brand once again for Best New Artist (and 2 more) Granny nominee Ingrid Andress. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her and I would love to see her literally shine bright wearing this silver Tom Ford silver sequin embroidered one shoulder gown with a sexy asymmetric silver chain collar and a side split for the Grammy’s red carpet. This is definitely a moment and I feel it in my soul that Ingrid would definitely be able to sell this moment to me effortlessly. Now I would swap up her CMA’s beauty look keeping those bold defined eyes, but styling the hair in a sleek updo and adding bold matte blood red lips to make the beauty vibe match the vibe of the gown. With a pair of black Tom Ford ‘Disco’ sculpted heel platform sandals and simple white gold Nikos Koulis ‘Universe Line’ geometric drop earrings with white diamonds in translucent enamel this look would scream dazzling glamour from head to toe. 
Following Ingrid who is a rising country music diva to a long reigning queen of modern country music Miranda Lambert. I can’t say that Miranda is one of my favorite red carpet stars, but when she gets it right she gets it right. I almost loved the Alex Perry look she wore for the CMA awards had there been better hair and makeup. For the Grammy’s where she is nominated for 3 gold gramophones and will be performing I went with a major color moment thanks to this bold emerald green Rasario Fall 2020 RTW draped one shoulder gown with a sexy split and a very small train. I feel like this color moment with a sleek updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, an emerald green Serpui ‘Mirela’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of MAJOR emerald green satin Mach & Mach white crystal embellished double bow rope detailed pointed toe ankle strap pumps, and a bit of sparkle thanks to white diamond and emerald Kwiat chandelier earrings with three pear shaped drops would make this look perfect. 
Poppy is nominated for Best Metal Performance and will be performing at the non televised Grammy Premiere ceremony, so I want to see her serve a look. She has always given very avant garde moments on the red carpet that go from sweet to edgy and I want to see her continue to give a major fashion moment So I turned to this white Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 Couture mini dress which features a dramatic asymmetrical taffeta bow for her. I just feel like Poppy would be the perfect person to bring this look to life. She has has the stature to really make this look come to life. To really make this a perfect red carpet look I would love to see Poppy style it with a sleek high ponytail, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, crazy high white Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Tarifa’ platform peep toe ankle strap sandals, and a selection of MAJOR Yeprem jewels including a singe total surround white diamond ‘Chevalier’ earcuff and a matching white diamond whole hand ‘Chevalier’ hand piece worn on opposite sides of the body.

I think the moments I am missing the most from the cancelled promo tour and awards season red carpets from is Cate Blanchett. Regular readers should know that Cate will always be a queen to me (even if I was really disappointed in her run during the Venice Film Festival last year) and I would have expected major things from her. For the AFI Awards I would have loved to see Queen Cate give us a very chic moment wearing this gold Lanvin Spring 2021 RTW silk pant set which features a chinoiserie inspired asymmetrical button down blouse with a chic metallic thread Koi fish embroidered paired with a v-banded wide leg pants. I have been loving this look and there aren’t many red carpets that it would be appropriate for, but for a brunch event I definitely think that it would be perfect especially styled with soft waves, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, 
Elizabeth Banks is another style favorite, there are many amongst this cast, and yes I am sad that we aren’t going to see her at the AFI Awards either. When thinking about the casual glam look I wanted to see Elizabeth wear I immediately thought of this periwinkle Elie Saab Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a matching floral jacquard double breasted coat and high waisted pleated above the knee skirt paired with a solid silk chiffon v-neck sleeveless top. It is a very chic moment and I definitely feel like it is something that Elizabeth would wear. Now I would have Liz wear the coat over her shoulders as it was styled in the lookbook finishing the moment with soft wave bob, defined eyes, poppy pink lips, a pair of 
Niecy Nash has some bold style and I am definitely intrigued to see what she brings to the red carpet. I would have loved seeing Niecy showcase this bold 
Rose Byrne is just another major fashion girl in the cast of Mrs. America. I love the risks that she takes and that no matter what she wears she always puts forth the the most. So thinking about what I wanted to see her wearing for the AFI Awards I took inspiration in her character from Mrs. America and thought about Gloria Steinem and her iconic 70’s style. I saw this Victoria Beckham Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a butter yellow virgin wool two button blazer, a ruffle trimmed cardigan layered over a ruffle trimmed ribbed turtleneck knit skirt tucked into camel virgin wool split-hem straight leg trousers. It is that perfect mix of 70’s bohemian and tailoring and I can imagine it being a phenomenal moment on Rose. I would keep the styling very 70’s as well finishing the look with a sleek bob, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, the necklace from the lookbook, and a pair of 
As I continue writing down this list I am getting more and more FOMO for this years AFI Awards. There are so many amazing fashion girls in the programs being honored and Sarah Paulson is another amazing fashion girl who I am sure would have brought a major look to the red carpet. She was another who I knew immediately what look I wanted to pick for her. I thought of this Prada Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a grey mohair v-neck sweater worn with the sleeves pushed up layered over a caution cone orange openwork viscose turtleneck top paired with a grey wool kick pleat a-line midi skirt with a safety buckle belted waist. It is cool and feminine all at the same time and I know that Sarah has the carriage to really make this look come to life. Now I was really turned on by the baby pink pumps the look was styled with on the runway. In fact I was originally thinking about keeping them, but the more I think about it the more I would like to see those same
Finishing out today is the beautiful Uzo Aduba who is the only member of the cast who was nominated at the Emmy’s last year to actually win and so I would bet that she would be font and center here had there been a red carpet for the AFI Awards this year. For this more casual event I went with a dress off the rack from a designer we haven’t seen Uzo wearing before. I wanted a great Gucci printed dress and I fell in love with this 
Andra Day is gearing up for a promo tour for her upcoming film The United States vs. Billie Holiday and has been quite the activist in her own right. Her hit song “Rise Up” has become an anthem for pushing through. She took to the stage to perform on Monday for the “United We Serve: A Celebration of the National MLK Day of Service” coordinated by the Biden Inaugural Committee. So I would not have been surprised to see Andra rocking a major fashion moment in a Washington D.C. ballroom tonight at one of the inaugural balls had there been any. I’ve always loved how Andra gives very retro glam vibes on the red carpet, so I went into the archives of the king of retro glam: Zac Posen. While his label closed last year I would still love to see stars dig into the archives and wear so many of the amazing looks that have never been worn. For this occasion I would have loved to see Andra wearing this black silk faille off the shoulder ballgown from the Zac Posen Fall 2014 RTW collection. I love the structured bustier and the caped sleeves. It is very modern take on classic glamour, and I feel like Andra would have shut this gown down. Now I would take that black fur stole she is wearing in the reference photo on the left adding a retro updo with crystal pins, thick winged eyes, bold red lips, a pair of 
Who was the most unexpected political pundit of 2020? It had to be Cardi B. She conducted interviews with Bernie Sanders during the primary (whom she was a very vocal supporter of) and then Joe Biden after he was the presumptive nominee. Cardi as a political face is actually something I love. So had she been invited to one of the inaugural balls I would have loved to see her show up and show out wearing an amazing look from a young black American based designer. I have been loving Ese Azenabor for a while now and I really do feel like this one sleeve a-line multicolor/patterned gown with a thigh high split and a dramatic train would have been a major moment for Cardi. It is the meshing of her flamboyant style, but a little on the reserved side. Reserved might not be the best phrase. It isn’t sheer. I think that’s what I’m more interested in. Debra Messing hosted “We the People” a pre-inauguration concert over the weekend and as a very vocal supporter of the Democratic Party I definitely would have loved to see her attend an inaugural ball. In these wishes you will see I dug into archives in spirit of both finding something “new” to talk about but also with the idea of sustainability in my mind. Debra has been friends with Christian Siriano for a long time and he has dressed her for so many red carpets it was an forgone conclusion that I would pick a gown from him for her. So I went shopping in his runway archives and found this burgundy silk strapless ball gown with a ruched bodice, dramatic bow hip detail, and a dramatic train from the Christian Siriano Fall 2010 RTW collection. I have to say that this was one of a few major gowns from this collections that were never worn on a red carpet. It is from one of Christian’s first post Project Runway era runway shows and before he became one of the biggest designers for the red carpet. I definitely feel like this color would be absolutely phenomenal on Debra and with a soft romantic updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of 
Justin Timberlake will be performing tonight during the “Celebrate America” primetime special that is taking the place of the traditional inaugural balls. Regular readers will know I love when Justin and wife Jessica Biel take to a red carpet together. They know good fashion and always bring it. So I am disappointed that this moment has been stolen from us. Had there been a ball I would have expected these two to serve up glamour from head to toe starting with Justin wearing a perfectly tailored Tom Ford Fall 2020 RTW tuxedo which features a marbled black and white shawl lapel tuxedo jacket, straight leg silk trousers, a white shirt, and a big black bow tie. This is a classically cut tuxedo with a statement making twist and I know Justin would wear it well especially styled with a pair of 
Finishing out my wishes for my dream inaugural ball is talk show hostess Tamron Hall. I have long been fascinated with Tamron’s style. She is definitely the most extra of all the TV hosts and I love seeing her when she steps out. One of her last looks before lockdown was a major pink high low ruffled taffeta Oscar de la Renta gown at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards. It was one of her best looks to date. So when I was thinking of who I could put in Vera Wang in my Dream Inaugural Ball Wishes I thought that Tamron would be a great option to bring this deep burgundy one shoulder mermaid gown from the Vera Wang Spring 2013 Bridal collection out of the archive and give it a major red carpet moment. I know that Tamron has the diva-tude to really bring this gown to life on the red carpet. Her unique sense of style would be perfectly on display in this gown styled with a chic spiky pixie style, defined eyes, glossy nude lips, 
Billy Porter always serves looks so I would have loved to see him bring a major fashion moment to the inaugural festivities this year. Just recently I was flipping through the Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2021 collection and the moment i saw this ivory suit ensemble embroidered with 3-D eye appliques and features a cropped tailcoat with the tails turning into a train I immediately thought of Billy. Is this look anything we would expect to see at a presidential inaugural ball? Oh hell no. But as I’ve said menswear in Washington, DC needs a shake up and this look would definitely do that. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the final hostess from the 2020 Democratic National Convention whom I wanted to include in my wishes for a dream inaugural ball. Okay here we go. My wish for Lizzo is one of my favorite of all my wishes for what could have been at the inaugural balls for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Since she really burst onto the scene at the end of last year Lizzo has been encouraging her fans to get out and vote! “Party in the USA” the hit song by Miley Cyrus made a return to the iTunes charts back in November 2020 thanks to the election of Joe Biden. Miley herself shared a video of Biden and Kamala Harris dancing with the song edited in, and captioned it, “Now THIS is a PARTY IN THE USA!” In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Miley said that she would love to perform at the inauguration. Well as of now I haven’t heard anything about her performing at the ceremony, but had she gone to Washington for the inaugural events I would have loved to see her do so in her full glam grunge vibe that she has been rocking. I wanted to put Miley in Marc Jacobs, but decided instead of going for something current that I would dive deep into the brands archives. When I saw this black chiffon and sequined slip style dress from the Marc Jacobs Fall 2006 RTW collection I knew I had found the right look. It is the perfect balance of grunge and glamour and I feel like it would have definitely been a superb moment for Miley to wear for an inaugural ball, especially if styled with her signature mullet, thick smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of

Selena has been a voice to make sure you are registered to vote and specifically encouraging Latina’s to use their voices in the electoral process. So yes I would have loved to see her take on Washington DC for an inaugural ball especially if she did it wearing this burgundy jersey Ralph Lauren Fall 2005 RTW criss-cross halter gown. Rounding out today is a super chic look for Taylor Swift who has been using her voice in politics for the last couple of years. I just always love seeing Taylor so after seeing her really using her voice to encourage people to vote I would have loved to see her in DC for the inaugural events. I went with classic glamour with this pool blue silk chiffon Monique Lhuillier asymmetric draped gown with a thigh high split. It isn’t anything boundary pushing, but I definitely think that for gliding around the room shaking hands (a novel thought isn’t it) and schmoozing that this is a great look for Taylor. When I was looking at the Marques’Almeida Spring 2021 RTW collection I found myself saying that there were some really good moments I wanted to see Billie wear, and my Fashion Forward Friends podcast co-host Kelly agreed. So when I was thinking of a cool look for Billie to wear on this red carpet I turned to this army green tonal patchwork oversized double breasted suit. It fits her oversized aesthetic, but does so in a way we haven’t seen from Billie in a while. Now while I think it would be cool for her to wear this look sans top like it was presented on the runway that isn’t really that on brand for her. So I would like to see a custom army green sequined sweatshirt made to compliment this look. I don’t really think of the People’s Choice red carpet as one that calls for a gown.
