2021 SAG Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

The SAG Awards broadcast is this weekend. I say broadcast because I am sure that the Screen Actors Guild has already started bringing their presenters and nominees together to record their sections as this years show will be pre-recorded and broadcast with a 1 hour television special. I am not sure how they are going to condense the whole show into just one hour, but I am sure there will be a way for them to do it. I’ve been ruminating on my wishes for this event for a while. It actually put me in a bit of a funk. I was originally going to start these as soon as I was done with my Grammy’s wishes, but because of the circumstances I just wasn’t feeling inspired. In fact until this past weekend when I finally finished putting the wishes together I was still uninspired. I will not be detailing out everyone. I have just decided that I don’t have that in me right now, but I have a couple days of detailed wishes that will culminate in a big round up style post for everyone else. I picked the stars featured in my detailed wishes based on who I was able to easily pick a look for and who I know has been turning out looks during our virtual awards season. Kicking things off is Amy Adams whom earned a surprise nomination this awards season for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Movie thanks to her role as Beverly “Bev” Vance in Hillbilly Elegy. I’ve always loved Amy and her style, but in more recent years her looks have missed the mark for me. We haven’t seen her show a fashion look since Emmy night 2019 where she wore a hideous Fendi Couture gown. I want to see her give us GLAMOUR this weekend for the SAG Awards and I know it would be a perfect moment to see her wearing this black Oscar de la Renta Fall 2021 RTW crystal embroidered halter neck column gown which features a draped bodice and keyhole bodice cutout. It is classically glamorous and I think that it would be a great moment for Amy to bring to life for the SAG Awards. I would then take this classic gown and style it with a sleek retro glam updo, thick defined soft smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black satin Tom Form ‘TF 105’ slingback pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Cartier jewels including intricate vintage white diamond chandelier earrings and a statement ‘L’Odyssée de Cartier’ white diamond cuff bracelet to really make this look scream glamour from head to toe. Over the course of this major winning awards season Catherine O’Hara has given more understand glam looks with a custom Vera Wang suit at the Golden Globes and a black Elie Saab ruffled cocktail dress for the Critics Choice Awards. For this weekends SAG Awards I would really love to see Catherine finish out the awards run for Schitt’s Creek giving us a bit of razzle dazzle wearing this black, gold, and white art deco inspired Elie Saab Spring 2018 Couture long sleeve column gown. I am SHOCKED that no one has worn this gown yet. I would have figured Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Nadine Labaki, or Jane Fonda would have fought over this dress. Three years later we are still waiting to see it have a red carpet moment. I feel like it is totally in tune with Catherine’s chic and sophisticated sense of style and it would make sure that she sends Schitt’s Creek off in HIGH glam style. I feel like her soft wave center parted and worn down, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black satin Roger Vivier gold metal crystal buckle platform chunky heel strappy sandals, and simple elegant IVY New York red spinel and white diamond drop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Emma Corrin has been serving LEWKS this awards season. She collected her Golden Globe wearing custom clown inspired Miu Miu and then went for bold 80’s inspired style with a Schiaparelli mini dress for the Critics Choice Awards. Her style has been top notch and I am sad her tenure with the cast of The Crown is coming to an end. After her wins this year I would say that her portrayal of Princess Diana has her as the favorite to take home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series trophy this year. I went for edgy glam with this silver and black Armani Prive Spring 2021 Couture sleeveless tea length gown with a halter neck vest and a spaghetti strap slip dress for Emma. Now I would ditch the belt from the runway and style this dress with her edgy cropped hairstyle, navy blue glitter Pat McGrath Labs ‘Dark Star’ smokey eyes, soft pink lips, strappy black Awge x Amina Muaddi ‘Isd Gladi’ thigh high crystal embellished sandals, and a selection of Messika jewels including asymmetrical white diamond wing cluster earrings and a white diamond fringe cuff bracelet to make sure this look is in line with Emma’s bold edgy glam style.Helen Mirren is one of the announced presenters for this weekend’s show. I have always loved seeing Helen on a red carpet and I cannot wait to see what look she will turn. She isn’t afraid of giving bold glamour on a red carpet and as I am working planning out the rest of awards season and headed into events like Cannes I cannot wait for Helen to serve more and more looks again. I was saving images from the Fall 2021 RTW collections when I saw this hot pink Tony Ward long sleeve a-line gown which features intricate beading on the bodice and sleeves, a jagged drop waist, and a tulle skirt. I immediately thought of Helen when I saw this gown and when I saw she was presenting at the SAG Awards I immediately thought of this gown. It’s such a bold statement moment and I know that Helen would be able to sell it to me easily especially with a sophisticated side parted hairstyle, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of hot pink Alexandre Vauthier crystal toe cap PVC sling back pointed toe pumps, and a bit more sparkle via white diamond Chopard ‘Precious’ collection white diamond cluster earrings. Finishing out today is Vanessa Kirby who has given some simple yet very chic looks this awards season wearing a simple black Gucci halter gown for the Globes and a red lace Saint Laurent gown for the Critics Choice Awards. I have definitely been paying attention to Vanessa and I am praying that she brings major looks to her final stops on the awards season circuit. She knows how to do major tailoring moments so I knew pretty immediately that I wanted to do this black and white Alexander McQueen Resort 2021 RTW tuxedo inspired ensemble for her to rock for the SAG Awards. I love this look which consists of a classic white button down shirt and a pair of black high waisted slim fit trousers with a major bow peplum detail. It is simple, sophisticated, and classic but in a way that SCREAMS drama. I mean can a look be classic and statement making at the same time? Because I definitely think that this look is exactly that. While Vanessa has a very no muss no fuss sense of style I think that the bow detail is within her wheelhouse. I think a sleek down hairstyle tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black crystal embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Loubiloo Bling Bang’ twist strap ankle strap sandals, and Bulgari ‘Barroko’ collection white diamond and ruby bunting cluster drop earrings would ensure this look fit’s in perfectly with Vanessa’s red carpet vibe.

The 2021 SAG Awards special will broadcast on Sunday April 4, 2021.

2021 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

I am still riding a glamour high from Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, but I am definitely moving forward to this weekends Critics Choice Awards. If this past weekend said anything it just proved that stars are ready to get dressed up and have some fun, even if they are still joining the shows virtually. I definitely am keeping that in mind when it comes to picking looks for the nominees for this weekends Critics Choice Awards. While we eventually get a great floor length look via social media we really only see the stars from the waist up. So all these looks are visually beautiful especially from the waist up. I will say I loved Carey Mulligan’s Prada gown at the Globes in the Zoom setting, but in the full length I wasn’t a huge fan of it all. I want Carey to consistently bring major fashion moments this awards season. So for this weekends Critics Choice Awards I turned to Prada, once again. Now I will say that I had already picked this blue and black beaded and fringe Prada high low flapper gown for Carey long before she showed up in Prada this weekend, and I’ve decided to continue to run with it. I thought of pulling this gown after seeing Dua Lipa pull some of the costumes Prada made for The Great Gatsby for one of her music videos. I honestly had never thought about putting the fabulous creations in wishes before. I was kind of hesitant to do it for Carey since she was one of the stars of the film, but then I asked myself why I was and I couldn’t give myself a good answer. This gown wasn’t worn by any of the main cast members and was just worn by an extra in one of the party scenes and I feel like it deserves a major red carpet moment. I think that styling this gown with a loose wavy bob, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of major black trimmed silver glitter Miu Miu t-strap chunky heel sandals, and antique Fred Leighton old mine white diamond tassel pendant earrings would definitely make this a major fashion moment for Carey. Emma Corrin’s winning Golden Globes look was a custom Miu Miu gown inspired by vintage clowns. It was a look that’s for sure. I can’t say I loved it, but I want Emma to give me fashion and glamour for the Critics Choice Awards this weekend. I would love to see Emma, who debuted a much shorter hairstyle, wear this black satin Chanel Pre-Fall 2021 column gown with a dramatic train and a crystal embellished bodice. I would definitely say that this gown is glamour defined and I feel it would be a superb moment for her to bring to life. I would love to see her edge this look up taking her short boyish cut and giving it a punky styling, thick kohl rimmed eyes, glossy nude pink lips, a pair of black Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ strappy crystal heel sandals, and a white diamond DeBeers ‘Radiating Lotus’ white diamond collar necklace.Maria Bakalova had one of my favorite gowns at the Globes wearing a gorgeous raspberry red Armani Prive crystal embellished strapless ballgown. I didn’t really know what to expect and whatever expectations were in my mind were blown away. I actually ended up dropping the Dior Couture tea length gown I originally had picked for Maria for these wishes and went for something that I feel is a little more fashiony with this blush to wine ombre Alexander McQueen Resort 2021 one shoulder tea length dress which features intricate drape details, exposed corset, and an a-line skirt. I love a great McQueen moment and I know her stylist Jessica Paster does too so I could definitely see this being a look that she would put on the rack for Maria. I think that taking this dress and styling it with a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of hot pink Manolo Blahnik ‘Selunga’ buckle detailed silk slingback sandals, and dazzling pink sapphire and ruby Lorraine Schwartz drop earrings would definitely give Maria another amazing fashion moment this virtual awards season. My wish for Ma Rainey herself Viola Davis to wear for the Critics Choice Awards is a complete 180 from the custom African print Lavie by Claude Kameni gown she wore for the Globes. I was obsessed with that whole moment and I love that Viola went there. For the Critics Choice Awards I went with the archive fashion route picking this simple yet very glamorous black chiffon Michael Kors Spring 2005 RTW one shoulder gown which features intricate draping on the bodice and an floating a-line skirt. I’ve always loved seeing Viola in Michael Kors on the red carpet and I feel like this gown is definitely something she would be drawn to. I would nod to a black designer in this look choosing to style this gown with Vanleles jewels including a pair of ‘Out of Africa’ rose gold set white diamond and Mozambican responsibly sourced ruby and rubelite fan drop earrings, a yellow gold ‘The Nile’ sculptural pave set white diamond necklace, and an ‘Out of Africa’ rose gold set white diamond and Mozambican responsibly sourced ruby and rubelite cocktail ring to add a pop of color to this look. A natural pulled back tight curl hairstyle, smokey eyes, glossy black cherry red lips, a gold Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ snakeskin embossed clutch, and a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Misty 120’ ankle strap sandals would add the perfect finishing touches to this moment. Headed into the nomination this year Zendaya’s performance in Malcolm & Marie was buzzing a lot for different nominations. When the Globe and SAG Awards were announced I hadn’t seen the film yet and I was so mad that neither nominated Zendaya. That being said, I just didn’t love the film. It wasn’t about her performance because it was stellar, but it was a great performance with no substance from the script. It left me wanting more. I will say that even in spite of my feelings I was happy to see the Critics Choice Awards nominate Zendaya. Not only did they nominate her for Best Actress, but they will be honoring her with the #SeeHer Award. So we know that we are going to see Zendaya in some way on Sunday night. I hope that she heads to the studio where the host and presenters will gather to accept the #SeeHer Award and do so in high style. I went full feminine glam picking this flamingo pink chiffon Georges Hobeika Spring 2020 Couture asymmetrically draped gown. I was looking for the perfect look and this was really the only one that spoke to me. I know that she would know exactly how to work this gown to really bring it to life perfectly. Taking this gown and adding a sleek bun updo, defined winged soft smokey eyes, glossy deep taupe lips, a pair of light pink Casadei platform ankle strap sandals, and MAJOR white diamond Yeprem High Jewelry ‘Gravity’ cluster meets fringe drop earrings would definitely make this the absolutely major moment I am craving from Zendaya.

The 2021 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Sunday March 7, 2021. You can find all of my wishes for this red carpet here.

2021 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

Today is mostly about the cast of The Crown, but also for Emily In Paris. It’s a day all about shows set in Europe that have casts dedicated to high fashion. I am really hoping that we see more broadcast events at the Golden Globe Awards like we saw with the cast of Schitt’s Creek do at the 2020 Emmy Awards. The cast of The Crown would be one of the best to do so. Let’s get into all of today’s wishes shall we?Emma Corrin is my favorite to take home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama trophy. I was enamored by her portrayal of Princess Diana in the fourth season of the anthology series. I am actually very disappointed that will be all she will get as she is being replaced (as is the whole cast) in the shows final two seasons. So I want her, and her stylist Harry Lambert, to have some major fun with fashion during this awards season. As I was looking at the Valentino Pre-Fall 2021 collection and I saw this black silk slip style gown which features thin straps, an open back and a sequined neckline and immediately knew I had found my Globes gown for Emma. Now the more simplistic of this gown might lend itself to more of the Critics Choice or SAG Awards, but I feel like should Emma customize this gown to have a long train behind it to add drama. It would be a very sexy yet sophisticated moment for the young actress to bring to life for her first Golden Globe Awards. I would keep the styling of this look very modern yet glamorous with a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a black Jeffrey Levinson ‘Elina Plus’ liquid glitter clutch, a pair of black crystal embellished Valentino ‘Rockstud’ sandals, and a selection of MAJOR Repossi jewels including miss-matched earcuffs one ‘SSV’ 3 row white diamond earcuff and one ‘Luminant’ white diamond and emerald earcuff as well as a ‘Serti Sur Vide’ 2 row white diamond ring, and a ‘Brevis’ 2 pear diamond open ring to really make this a major fashion moment for Emma. Previous Golden Globe Award winner Gillian Anderson’s portrayal of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has earned her her sixth nomination. When it comes to fashion Gillian is always one to deliver glamour on the red carpet. I went through several ideas of what I thought I wanted to see from Gillian on this red carpet, but it was ultimately a deep azurite blue Safiyaa Fall 2020 RTW column gown which features an asymmetrical bodice and a crystal embellished cape detail that I thought would be the perfect moment. It is the perfect meshing of classic and modern glamour. It is absolute glamour and I know that with a sleek updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a dark blue crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture faceted rectangle clutch, navy glitter Aquazzura gem embellished pointed toe mules, and statement white diamond Dena Kemp leaf drop earrings it would be head to toe perfection. Josh O’Connor is one of the men this awards season I am interested in seeing bring a new and interesting moment to life on the red carpets of awards season. I feel like the title of Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama is Josh’s to loose and to accept the Globe I would love to see him serve a LOOK. The moment I saw this black Fendi Spring 2021 Couture asymmetrical buttoned up tuxedo with a ring detail on the jacket, cutout details on the cuffs of the sleeves, a white fishnet lace cuff detail, and trousers with a side split I saw it on Josh. It is a fun and fashiony take on the classic tuxedo and I know that Josh has the presence and carriage to bring this look to life. The details in this look are special enough that I wouldn’t add much to it except for a pair of black leather Fendi square toe chelsea boots. Olivia Colman has worn Stella McCartney and Emilia Wickstead on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet the last two years. While I did like the Stella gown well enough the Wickstead last year was horrendous. I know she has some major potential and I want to see her live up to it. As I planned these wishes I thought a lot about re-wearing and to be honest there aren’t many looks that Olivia ha worn that I would actually like to see her bring back to the red carpet. But there was a red Antonio Berardi cap sleeve asymmetric column gown with a small train that Olivia wore for the 2018 Venice Film Festival award ceremony (pictured left) that I could see her bringing back out. Now I still would love to see Olivia bring a glamorous and new moment to the red carpet for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards and so I turned to this midnight blue Alexander McQueen cape detailed chiffon gown with a fitted waist, jewel neck, and an a-line skirt. It is glamorous and dramatic all on it’s own, but I would love to see the team at McQueen modify this dress to have a train to add even more drama. I would finish the look with a chic pixie, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, a navy velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Ellipse’ crystal trimmed clutch, a pair of black suede Alexander McQueen flower detailed peep toe d’orsay platform pumps, and a DAZZLING vintage 1950’s art deco scroll white diamond necklace to really make this look head to toe perfection.I think that the whole world was shocked that Lily Collins earned a Golden Globe Award nomination thanks to her performance in Emily in Paris. She has been serving up some superb looks while in lockdown and I really want to see her bring a BOLD glamour look for the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. So of course couture had to be my choice. I picked this bold neon yellow strapless ballgown from the Ashi Studio Spring 2021 Couture collection. On first glance this ballgown is all about the color and is a very simplistic look, but from behind it is a bow strap detailed open back. Now it is a big dress and could overwhelm Lily’s petite figure, but I believe that with the right tailoring and styling it would be perfection. I would style this look with a sleek rosette inspired updo embellished with with a white diamond Harry Winston cluster brooch, defined eyes, light pink lips, a pair of silver and gold Casadei ankle strap platform sandals, and a dazzling white marquis cut and yellow diamond cushion cut Harry Winston necklace to really make it a statement making moment for Lily to bring to life for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.

The 2021 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday February 28, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years event here.

2021 AFI Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

There are so many fabulous casts in the films and television programs that are on the Best of 2020 list which would be honored at the 2021 AFI Awards had we gotten a ‘normal’ red carpet. One of the best casts to see out on the red carpet is from The Crown. So I am really bummed that we won’t get to see them don their brunch best and attend the AFI Awards in person this year. But you know I still have opinions on what I would have wanted to see them wearing on the red carpet so let’s get into today’s wishes shall we?I think I am most disappointed that COVID has stolen all kinds of major red carpet moments from Emma Corrin. I adored her portrayal of Princess Diana in the latest season of The Crown and she is just as much of a fashionista. In the lead up to the latest season of the show dropping on Netflix her stylist Harry Lambert shared a series of photos of looks that the two had put together as options for looks for press and premieres and it included looks from 16Arlington, Christopher Kane, Rejina Pyo, Loewe, and Nensi Dojaka. She ultimately wore custom Miu Miu for the virtual premiere. Now had there been a red carpet for the AFI Awards I would have loved to seen Emma channel Diana’s two different senses of style with this look from the Louis Vuitton Resort 2021 collection. They grey double breasted blazer is more of the structured side of Diana’s style and the horizontal striped silk leggings are on the athleisure side and they shouldn’t work well together, but for some reason it does. Now I would swap the blue striped shirt the look was styled with in the lookbook instead opting for a white cotton sleeveless embroidered button down shirt with a ruffled neckline to add a soft touch of femininity to the very severe look. A soft wavy bob, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a black and white Louis Vuitton ‘Since 1854 Noe’ miniature drawstring bucket bag, black leather Louis Vuitton ‘Heartbreaker’ pumps, and very simple sparkle via 18k rose gold set De Beers ‘Clea Five’ diamond and chain drop earrings would have added the perfect finishing touches to this look. Erin Doherty emerged out of the cast of The Crown as a fashion force we didn’t know we were looking for. She has a super feminine sensibility and has rocked major moments from coveted brands like Valentino and Giambattista Valli for red carpets since bursting onto the scene. If there were an in person AFI Awards this year I would have loved to see Erin show up to celebrate the show wearing this uber feminine pink floral flowing dress from the Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 RTW collection which features long blouson sleeves, a black bow belted waist, and an a-line skirt. This dress balances femininity and bohemian styling and I believe that Erin would wear it incredibly well. I would style this dress with some statement pieces to really make this a major fashion moment. I think that a soft updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of black and white butterfly print Sophia Webster ‘Nicco’ ankle strap satin sandals, and Bulgari ‘Divas Dream’ 18k rose gold set white diamond and colored gemstone drop earrings would make this a statement flirty and feminine moment for Erin to bring to life. If only. Gillian Anderson’s performance in Season 4 of The Crown and the Iron Lady, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was PHENOMENAL. It has lead to her receiving a Golden Globe, SAG, and Critics Choice Award nomination so far this awards season. I’ve always been a fan of Gillian’s style so I would love to see her bring some very chic moments to the red carpets. I would have loved to see Gillian show up for this super casual red carpet wearing this electric blue Carolina Herrera Resort 2021 long sleeve pencil dress which features a jewel neckline, a gathered seam waist, and a faux wrap style skirt. It isn’t a boundary pushing look by any means, but sometimes we just need chic and not evolutionary. The AFI Awards red carpet is a place where I am really not opposed to just seeing CHIC and this dress is that. Now I was inspired by the lookbook styling and I would love to style this look with a pair of orange patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Hot Chick’ pointed toe pumps and vintage ‘Gumps’ citrine and white diamond button earrings set in 18k gold from Beladora to add a pop of color against the blue of the dress. A chic round brush blown out side parted bob, defined eyes, and blush pink lips would definitely put the perfect finishing touches to this moment.Helena Bonham Carter doesn’t really do red carpets except for the major ones, so I don’t really believe that she would have actually attended the AFI Awards. But, since we are dreaming today I decided to make sure she is included. I have a love hate relationship with Helena’s style. I love that she is always quirky and true to herself, but on the other hand I don’t necessarily love her sense of style. That being said, I went shopping in the runways and lookbooks to find something amazing for Helena. Now I fell in love with the idea of seeing Helena in Rodarte as I was looking at this bold floral print long sleeve silk-blend devore velvet tea length dress from the brands Fall 2020 RTW collection. We’ve never seen Helena in Rodarte, but I really think that this dress is perfectly in tune with her sense of style. I might go as far as saying that should she actually wear this look on a red carpet that it might be one of her best red carpet looks ever. For the AFI Awards I would dress this more cocktail oriented dress down with Helena’s signature messy updo, thick kohl rimmed eyes, bold red lips, a tumbled grained celadon leather Mark Cross ‘Grace’ small top handle box bag, black velvet Miu Miu crystal studded chunky heel platform sandals, and a pair of Miu Miu rhinestone embellished black and tortoise cat eye sunglasses. Josh O’Connor was a phenomenal Prince Charles. He had the voice and mannerisms down perfectly. Now last awards season he was working some really interesting 70’s inspired looks from Loewe. That alone designates him with a fashion boy distinction. As I was looking at the collections being shown recently I found myself imagining several looks on him so definitely know that I will be featuring him in many of my upcoming event wishes. One look I really loved for him was this Dior Men Fall 2021 ensemble which features a powder blue early 19th century military inspired blazer, dark oil blue silk trousers, and a victorian scene printed trench coat. It isn’t an easy look to pull off and I don’t think I would recommend all the pieces together for anyone other than Josh (though I totally want that coat in my closet). He has the effortlessly quirky sensibility to really make a look like this come to life. And last but certainly not least is The Crown’s very own Queen Elizabeth II Olivia Colman. A couple of years ago I wasn’t all that interested in Olivia’s style, but there have been some bright spots. I think mostly of her red Antonio Berardi at the Venice Film Festival, the custom Prada at the AFI Fest premiere of the Season 3 of The Crown, and her custom Stella McCartney at the Oscars last year. I wouldn’t expect a groundbreaking moment from Olivia at an event like the AFI Awards, but this cornflower blue silk jersey Erdem Resort 2021 dress which features a jewel neckline, blouson sleeves, pearl details at a gathered waist, and a soft a-line skirt would be incredibly chic. It is a very elegant gown that is in all reality a very classic design, but it also feels very modern. I would definitely love to see Olivia bring this chic moment to life with a short pixie style, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a powder blue Valextra ‘Iside’ envelope style clutch, and a pair of navy blue Malone Souliers ‘Maisie 851’ pointed toe mid strap d’Orsay pumps.

The 2021 AFI Awards will be a virtual event with a benediction on February 26, 2021. You can see Part 1 of this series here and Part 2 here.

“The Crown” Season 4 Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Season 4 of The Crown is about to drop on Netflix. In a normal year this week we would have seen the cast gather in London for a gala premiere for the next season. I am devastated that for most of the casts final turn as their characters, some who will only be in this season, and some who are making their series debut. While this cast might not have the biggest names in red carpet fashion amongst it’s ranks I definitely feel like they had the potential to make for a really great red carpet. The wishes you are going to see below are what I would have loved to see these ladies wear had the event actually taken place. This season will be Olivia Colman’s second and final turn as Queen Elizabeth II. We really started to get to know Olivia early last year as she campaigned for an Oscar. She mostly wore English designers. When it comes to fashion I, unlike most, loved the custom Stella McCartney gown she wore for the Oscars earlier this year. Now what I would have liked to see her wear for this premiere isn’t as dramatic but packing in glamour. I would love to see Olivia wearing this ice blue Erdem Resort 2021 ‘Kenley’ sequin embellished caped gown. I have pictured Olivia wearing this gown since I first flipped through this collection lookbook earlier this year. I feel like it is the simple regal glamour  that works so well for Olivia and this gown delivers that. A short pixie, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a dusk blue glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste’ rectangle clutch, a pair of platinum glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Emily 100’ crisscross stiletto peep toe sandals, and simple princess cut white diamond David Morris drop earrings would definitely make this a dazzling glamour moment for Olivia. This season will finally see Princess Diana join the cast. Emma Corrin has been tasked with bringing the iconic royal to life on the screen and I have high expectations. This is the only season that Emma will be a part of The Crown. I would have loved to see what she would bring to life on the red carpet as she is portraying a fashion icon. Instead of going for something off the current runways I instead went into the vintage archives of online vintage retailer Shrimpton Couture. I decided to pick this major black 1961 Norman Hartnell Haute Couture rhinestone detailed bubble hem gown which features an off the shoulder neckline. Hartnell was the couturier to Queen Elizabeth II and this gown is a perfect example of his work. I feel like Emma would definitely been able to bring this gown out of the archives and to life on a red carpet. Style it with a sleek updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a black satin Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch which features a crystal embellished bow clasp, a pair of black suede Miu Miu jeweled strap chunky heel platform sandals, and vintage art deco white diamond Cartier drop earrings to really make sure this look oozes glamour from head to toe. Gillian Anderson is also joining the cast of The Crown this season as the “iron lady” Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. While she isn’t exactly known for her red carpet looks I tend to think that Gillian can deliver some superb moments. I would have loved to see her bring the color factor to this red carpet wearing this bright yellow Roland Mouret ‘Adrienne’ strapless gown which perfectly meshes structure and draping. As I started planning this set of wishes I knew immediately that I wanted Roland Mouret for Gillian. This gown is the epitome of the Roland Mouret style and I feel that is perfect for this red carpet. I could see Gillian giving this gown the moment it deserves styling it with a teased updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, a multi-tone gold crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Smooth Rectangle Bling Mix’ clutch, simple light gold Malone Souliers ‘Miranda 125’ platform ankle strap sandals, and a pair of DAZZLING white and yellow diamond David Morris chandelier earrings. Rounding out this set of wishes is a major glamour moment I would like to see from Erin Doherty. The actress made me take notice of her at last years premiere of Season 3 of The Crown where she was wearing Dolce & Gabbana. Since then we’ve seen her wearing Valentino and Giambattista Valli. We’ve yet to see her wear couture on the red carpet and I was hoping for this this year at the premiere of the shows 4th season. I would have absolutely adored seeing Erin wearing this aqua blue Georges Hobeika Spring 2020 Couture ensemble which features a beaded crop top with 3/4 length sleeves and a ruffled high waisted tulle a-line skirt. It is a bit of 60’s flair in the most modern way possible and I ADORE the color. I feel like it is the perfect balance of fun, flirtatiousness, and glamour for Erin. I would have pulled this look together with a sleek updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, silver glitter and PVC Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Karlie’ crystal studded pointed toe t-strap pumps, and a pair of dazzling white diamond Anabela Chan chandelier earrings.

Season 4 of The Crown will start streaming on Netflix on Sunday November 15, 2020.
