While the ceremony will be shorter this year, the Screen Actors Guild will still hand out its annual awards. The 2021 SAG Awards will air on Sunday, April 4, in a one-hour, pre-taped event, the show’s producers announced in early March. Hostless, and absent the normal banquet and red carpet, the shows producers have revealed that they still have a lot planned to honor the best actresses and actors of the year. I am very interested in seeing what the show will be and even more importantly what the fashion will be. With the abbreviated and pre-recorded show will the stars still turn out gowns and glamour? We will have to wait till Sunday night to find out. In the meantime let’s make a couple more wishes for what could be for this years show shall we? 
Despite all her nominations this season Cate Blanchett has skipped out on every single virtual awards show and I HATE it. I always love seeing Cate on the red carpet and I am missing her turning out looks. I’ve picked major looks from Alberta Ferretti, archive Armani Prive, and Lanvin and I am continuing that with the look I’ve picked as the must see moment for Cate to wear for the SAG Awards, even if I am doubtful that she will zoom into the ceremony. Cate has long been a fan of Givenchy and has worn looks from all of the brands creative directors. So I would love to see her try to sell me a look from Matthew Williams helm at the brand. I have been imagining Cate wearing this one shoulder white column gown which features a macrame detailed bodice and a tassel detail from the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection. This collection is far from one I really love, but I feel like this gown modified to be lined for modesty (which I am sure will happen for retail) would be a super edgy glam moment for Cate. We usually love Cate more in her classic glam moments, but when she serves up edge I am in love with her looks. I obviously would ditch the coat and style this gown with a sleek updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of white satin Aquazzura ‘Bow Tie’ crystal embellished pointed toe pumps, and statement aquamarine and emerald Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2020 drop earrings would make this a major fashion moment for Cate. 
Elle Fanning is nominated with her fellow The Great cast members for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. After her super glam custom Gucci gown with Fred Leighton jewels at the Golden Globe Awards I am dying to see Elle give us a super glam moment for the SAG Awards. Now as she isn’t nominated individually or presenting I’m not sure that we will, but I definitely believe that if this were a normal year that Elle would have served up a MAJOR glam moment. I just fell in love with this white strapless beaded tea length cocktail dress from the Georges Hobeika Spring 2021 Couture collection which features sheer detail, 3D floral embroidery, and POCKETS. I feel like Elle with her classically glamorous sensibility would easily be able to sell this look to me. Cocktail dresses for the SAG Awards aren’t really a norm for me, but I think that with a sleek retro inspired updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of white Sergio Rossi ‘Sr1’ crystal studded square toe ankle strap sandals, and a dazzling white diamond Harry Winston teardrop and scroll detailed collar necklace would definitely elevate this look to the level of glamour needed for a major awards show red carpet. 
Gillian Anderson took home both a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Award for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown. That same performance has earned her a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at the 2021 SAG Awards. She is up against her co-star Emma Corrin and I would say that it will most likely be Emma that takes home the Actor. Now in terms of fashion Gillian has exclusively worn Dior Couture this awards season. While I don’t hate her looks I also would love to see her branch out. I know Gillian has some fashion chops and I would love to see her give cozy glamour wearing this petrol blue knit Loewe Spring 2021 RTW long sleeve gown which features multicolored sequined strewn about, a thigh high split, and a knotted sash belt. While a knit gown is not something we would expect to see for any major award shows and I totally understand, but in lockdown I love the idea. Why not take advantage of it now? To make this look SAG Awards perfect for Gillian I would style it with a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, light pink lips, a pair of petrol blue crystal embellished mesh Gianvito Rossi ‘Rania 105’ pointed toe pumps, and dazzling white diamond London collection by De Beers ‘Thames Path’ teardrop cluster earrings. 
There was a huge snub that the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards didn’t nominate Michaela Coel for her performance in I May Destroy You. Well the SAG Awards rectified that and I am hoping that she will bring us a major look. I went through a lot of options when I was thinking about what I wanted to see Michaela wearing for the SAG Awards. Ultimately I decided to go with a customized version of this rose gold sequined Off White Resort 2021 asymmetrical slip style dress which features thin spaghetti straps and the brands name embroidered on the front. I would customize this into a floor length gown with a bit of a train to really make this a glamorous moment for the first time SAG Award nominee to wear for her first ceremony. I would style this custom gown with a short afro, defined eyes, ruby red lips, a pair of rose gold Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ three strap crystal heel metallic leather sandals, and simple yet dazzling 18k pink gold set Hueb ‘Luminus’ white diamond cluster earrings to really make it a MAJOR fashion moment for Michaela to bring to life on the “red carpet.” 
Phoebe Dynevor might have been the Diamond of Bridgerton and I tell you that had awards season happened like normal that she would have been the Diamond this season as well. She rocked an edgy glam Louis Vuitton cocktail dress from the Critics Choice Awards and for the SAG Awards where she is nominated with her cast for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series I would have love to see her bring something feminine and romantic to the red carpet. I have been thinking about Phoebe wearing this blush pink Chanel Spring 2021 Couture a-line tea length gown which features thin straps, defined waist, tiered skirt, and red and white dot embroidery all over. It is gorgeous and I know that Phoebe would bring the statuesque elegance to the red carpet. I would style it with a sleek updo, soft dewy makeup with light pink lips, red leather Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen 100’ ankle strap sandals, and a selection of David Webb jewels including a pair of white diamond and ruby feather drop earrings and a matching ruby and white diamond cocktail ring to really make it scream glamour.

I had so many ideas for what to pick for Dua Lipa to wear for the Grammy Awards. I was originally going to go down the route of vintage Thierry Mugler Couture, but then Kim Jones made his debut as the creative director at Fendi. The moment I saw this ivory sheer pearl embellished caped column gown with a halterneck bodysuit and a dramatic train it spoke to me. It was a really cool moment that gives me regal vibes as well as rock and roll glamour. I feel like it would definitely be something that Dua would be drawn to and since she is on the list of performers in addition to being nominated for six Grammy’s including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Finishing off today is the beautiful Taylor Swift who is nominated for six Grammy’s and will be performing this weekend so I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet. Despite multiple nominations since Taylor hasn’t attended a Grammy’s ceremony since 2016 when she won several for her album 1989. So I am really interested to see what she will bring this year. When she dropped Folklore and Evermore last year Taylor seemed to ignite the Cottagecore trend, and a refound love of cardigans. I’ve wanted to see what this would bring in terms of red carpet style, but Taylor has skipped pretty much all of the music awards shows during the pandemic. When I was thinking of something that I feel would fit the vibe of her recent albums, but still give us red carpet I was having a hard time coming up with the right pick. Then I watched the Valentino Spring 2021 Couture show and I immediately fell in love with this light grey slip style gown with a dramatic train paired with a copper brown knit sweater vest that was worn asymmetrically on the runway and I would keep it that way for Swiftie. Headed into the nomination this year Zendaya’s performance in Malcolm & Marie was buzzing a lot for different nominations. When the Globe and SAG Awards were announced I hadn’t seen the film yet and I was so mad that neither nominated Zendaya. That being said, I just didn’t love the film. It wasn’t about her performance because it was stellar, but it was a great performance with no substance from the script. It left me wanting more. I will say that even in spite of my feelings I was happy to see the Critics Choice Awards nominate Zendaya. Not only did they nominate her for Best Actress, but they will be honoring her with the #SeeHer Award. So we know that we are going to see Zendaya in some way on Sunday night. I hope that she heads to the studio where the host and presenters will gather to accept the #SeeHer Award and do so in high style. Andra Day has earned herself several big award nominations this year so far with nods from the Globes and the Critics Choice Awards. There is still Oscar buzz for her as well thanks to her performance in The United States vs. Billie Holiday which earned her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Carey Mulligan could very well take her role in Promising Young Woman all the way to the Oscars. That performance has gotten her honored at the Palm Springs Film Festival with the International Star Award. I am really looking at all of the designers Carey tends to gravitate toward, but also making sure I am making wishes I really want to see from her. I’ve already picked looks from 
Leslie Odom Jr. is another who is very likely to run awards season all the way to the Oscars. He was phenomenal as Sam Cooke in One Night In Miami so I definitely understand. He is the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor winner for his performance in Sound of Metal. Had there been a red carpet this year for the PSIFF I would have opted to put Riz in this black and white print Haider Ackermann Fall 2020 Menswear tuxedo which features a thin lapel blazer and black slim fit trousers. Finishing out today is Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress honoree Viola Davis. I adored her performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and I am very excited to see her looks this awards season. So far this awards season in terms of wishes I’ve gone with Elie Saab and Jason Wu for Viola. I have all gone for color moments and I am not slowing that down now. I think the best case and point in looks being made for the runway inspired by a star I think is this fugly Louis Vuitton Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features an oversized polo with a leather top and a diagonal striped bottom paired with a neon pop art wide leg shorts which I definitely think was made with Billie Eilish in mind. I hate the look because it isn’t my style at all, but I do think it is something that Billie would rock the look on a red carpet and American Music Awards is perfect. I can see it happening with Billie wearing the whole head to toe runway styling including those moon boot meets sneaker things that I just don’t understand, but that is what Billie’s style is to me.

With her “Folklore” era having come completely during the COVID lockdown I’m still on the pastel lightness she was drawn to during the “Lover” era. Enter this soft lilac Valentino Spring 2021 RTW ruffled silk chiffon gown which features a blouson silhouette, ruffled trim, round neck, balloon sleeves, nude bodysuit, and a small train. It is a very fashion-y choice for Taylor whom has never worn Valentino before, but I feel like this gown would be a super chic moment for her to wear at the American Music Awards especially if it was styled with a romantic updo, soft silver smokey eyes, bold hot pink lips, 
I’ve heard that there will be a red carpet ahead of this event so I wanted to go for dramatic glamour for Taraji so I was sold pretty quickly on the idea of her wearing this black chiffon Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2020 Couture one shoulder draped gown which features an asymmetrical sweetheart neckline, a silk cummerbund defined waist, crystal broach detail on one hip, an asymmetrical skirt trimmed in ostrich feathers and a dramatic cape train also trimmed in feathers. To kick off the telecast I went for even more couture for Taraji. Ralph & Russo presented their Fall 2020 Couture collection three ways. We saw a couple looks styled into actual lookbook photos, a digital model, and sketches. While I’ve only seen this scarlet red silk georgette gown which features a plunging neckline and oversized bow hip bustle, embellished with pearlescent sequins via sketch it was definitely a favorite from this collection. While on paper it says it is a gown, the way the fold of the skirt is in the sketch I would really love to see this made as a jumpsuit for Taraji to kick off the show. I like to balance gowns, cocktail looks, and trousers for a well rounded set of looks so I feel like this jumpsuit would be a great moment. I would finish the look with big bouncy curls, defined eyes, dark red glossy lips, and a pair of 
So far each look has been about detail, pattern, and embellishment. While I love all of those things sometimes a palate cleanser is needed. So I turned to this black Monot Spring 2021 RTW cutout crepe backless maxi gown which features a slim fit, long sleeves, cutout front, and side sit. It gives me a major 90’s Gucci by Tom Ford vibes and I feel like Taraji would definitely be able to sell this overtly sexy yet simplistic look to me with ease. Ariana Grande is nominated for SIX People’s Choice Awards and with a new album out I would love to see her on the red carpet Sunday night. We haven’t seen Ari really make a public appearance since the start of the pandemic aside from a quick appearance during the VMAs performing with Lady Gaga. So this would be a great time for Gaga to bring the fashion to the red carpet. I knew immediately who I would love to see Ari step out wearing this black and lime Georges Hobeika Spring 2021 RTE ensemble which features a beaded under bodice, feathered cuffs on 3/4 length sleeves, and a mini feathered skater skirt. It make such a statement and I feel like it is in tune with the more grown approach to dressing that Ari seems to be taking. Now to make it more Ari I would ditch the white collar that the look was paired with for the lookbook. I would make this look even more Ariana-fied styling it with a sleek ponytail, thick winged cat eyes, glossy antique rose pink lips,
After sweeping the Emmy’s I would imagine that Dan Levy is poised to take home several People’s Choice Awards this year. Dan really has become a true fashion guy rocking custom and off the runway looks from brands like Valentino, Gucci, and Thom Browne. For this weekends PCA’s I would love to see Dan continue to shun the traditional suit instead opting for this black Versace Spring 2021 RTW take on the tuxedo which features a peak lapel sleeveless oversized vest like tuxedo jacket embellished with a red crystal starfish boutonniere, a sleeveless white button down, and below the knee length shorts. It’s a risky look for sure, but I feel like Dan has the fashion chops to really make this look. Honestly I thought about changing up the styling, but I love the idea of him wearing the white logo tube socks with the black patent leather loafers with the gold medusa crest on them. We are sure to see the always stunning Jennifer Lopez on Sunday night since she is being honored with the People’s Icon of 2020 award. If you are a regular reader you will know that I am always excited to see Mrs. Lopez on a red carpet and this is no different. Since she is receiving the Icon award I felt like I had to go Atelier Versace to pick the perfect fashion moment for her to wear to accept. I was definitely in love with this black chiffon and gunmetal sequined jumpsuit from the Atelier Versace Fall 2020 Couture collection which features a plunging neckline, a criss-cross waist, and sheer bell bottom pants the moment I saw it and I think that Jennifer would shut it down. When it comes to style Miley Cyrus has had a major year. She’s given us looks from Mugler and Alexandre Vauthier that I feel like have Best Dressed of the Year worthy potential. She is the first person to be able to sell me on the glam grunge mullet and for that I applaud her. I wasn’t a fan at first, but I have definitely gotten more and more into it. Should she take to the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, where she is nominated for Female Artist of the Year I would love to see her rock this super sexy Monot Spring 2021 RTW asymmetric draped silk gown. I feel like this look definitely speaks to the super sexy, edgy, glam, grunge, punk thing that Miley has been delivering every time she makes a red carpet appearance. Now what would really make this look a major moment would be styling it with that glam grunge mullet, defined eyes, bold matte red lips, statement 
Finishing out this list is a look that isn’t a typical look that I would pick for the People’s Choice Awards, but when Tracee Ellis Ross is being honored with the Fashion Icon Award I had to go big. I have been a huge fan of Tracee’s for a while now. She isn’t afraid to go big and bold, which is why I imagine she’s being honored as a Fashion Icon. I really didn’t have to think to hard about what I wanted to see her wear. I wanted statement making drama and that is exactly what this lime green, bubblegum pink, electric blue, tangerine orange, navy blue, and fire engine red Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture color blocked gown delivers. From the beaded column gown (which I would want lined for Tracee) to the major voluminous silk faille parachute cape this look delivers statement drama. Now if you think I would keep the styling of this look simple for Tracee you would be WRONG. Instead I would LOVE to see her go for it styling this gown with a a sleek center parted low bun, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of
