I am getting very excited for what this years Grammy Awards will be. With all the possibilities from in person presenters and performers (and hopefully some winners) to looks from nominees who aren’t able to attend in person on Instagram I am ready for FASHIONS. The Grammy’s always allows for some major fashion moments we wouldn’t see on any of the film awards red carpets during award season. So I am having a lot of fun wit my wishes for the collection as well. 
Billie Eilish has always had a very interesting sense of style. Last awards season she rocked Chanel, Gucci, and Burberry track suit style looks for all the red carpets she walked. I don’t want to change her, so when I was looking for something for the singer who is nominated for 4 Grammy’s including Record of the Year and Song of the Year and is also performing at this years show I turned to the Valentino Spring 2021 Couture collection. I was thinking about all the cool boxier cut and layered looks from the collection and knew that I would find a great moment for Billie to wear on this red carpet and I found it in this look which features a gold embossed brocade cocoon cape inspired sleeveless hoodie (A COUTURE HOODIE), a sleeveless light but turtleneck, sand colored pleated front trousers, and matching elbow gloves. This moment is definitely the most Billie look that was show in this collection and I really want to see her rock it for the Grammy’s red carpet. According to her Instagram Billie is still rocking that horrible acid green roots thing. I don’t think that would work with this look though. Instead I would like to see Billie give us more of something like an deep ink blue instead. To finish the look I would style the moment with defined eyes, nude pink lips, and a pair of metallic gold Valentino Couture platform derbies. 
Cynthia Erivo is nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media for her song “Stand Up” from Harriet. She is a consummate fashionista and so I know that had this been a regular year that she would have shown up on the Grammy’s red carpet serving a major look like she was one of the top nominated artists of the night. The fact that she is also be a part of this years post Grammy special “A Salute to the Sound of Change” would have also boded well for her being on the Grammy’s red carpet. I was going to start looking through my archives of couture runways for Cynthia, but then I saw this gold lamé button back of the shoulder peak lapel gown with an oversized drape and puffer coat backpack turned tiered train from the Paris Fashion Week presentation of the Thom Browne Fall 2021 RTW collection. There are very few stars who I think could pull a look like this off, but despite her petite frame I know that Cynthia could serve this moment up and deliver it on a red carpet and the Grammy’s would be perfect. Now for the lookbook the gown was styled with a signature black Thom Browne tuxedo on top under the gown. I would ditch that. Instead styling the gown with her signature bleached buzzed hair, smokey eyes, deep berry red glossy lips, metallic gold leather Aquazzura ‘Gin Plateau 140’ strappy platform sandals, and a statement Harry Winston white and yellow diamond collar necklace would make it a major fashion moment.
Harry Style is nominated for Best Solo Pop Performance, Best Pop Album, and Best Music Video at this years Grammy Awards and I am super disappointed that the regular red carpet isn’t going to happen. Harry has been one of my men to watch on the red carpet because he isn’t afraid to blur the gender lines on the red carpet. Now that being said Harry is still performing at this years show and I hope he serves up some cool looks. I have two looks for Harry one for the red carpet and one for a performance. The red carpet look I’ve picked for Harry is a powder blue Gucci Spring 2017 Menswear shawl lapel tailcoat tuxedo which I would style a little differently than it was on the runway I would ditch the tangerine short wide tie and change the shirt. Instead I would style the look with a classic pleated tuxedo shirt, the cummerbund front he runway, a pair of navy velvet Gucci ‘New Jordaan Horsebit’ leather trimmed logo embroidered loafers, and a major white diamond and tanzanite Gucci High Jewelry heart, arrow, and floral brooch instead of a tie to really make this a cool look for Harry. For the performance, of which I don’t have any idea what it will be, I would love to see Harry hit the stage wearing this raspberry red metallic plaid silk brocade Gucci Fall 2020 Menswear 70’s inspired wide lapel suit. It is definitely something I can see Harry being drawn to and I feel like the subtle sparkle makes it a perfect stage look. Again I would switch up the styling ditching hat, shirt, and sweater from the runway in favor of a blush pink floral jacquard Gucci blouse style button down, a pair of black Gucci ‘Zahara’ silver buckle cowboy inspired ankle boots, and a Gucci ‘Hortus Delicarium’ white diamond and morganite leaf wreath and lion head necklace for a bit of sparkle. 
Jhene Aiko will host the Grammy Premiere ceremony, which is the party of the show that isn’t televised where they hand out all kinds of awards. In addition to that she is nominated for 3 Grammy’s herself this year including Album of the Year, Best Progressive R&B Album, & Best R&B Performance. So I am really hoping to see her deliver a superb moment on the red carpet. I went for sexy glamour inspired by Grace Jones with this black/gold sequin Rami Al Ali Spring 2021 Couture draped hooded wrap style gown with a major split in the front. I love this super glam moment and I feel like it would just ooze sexy and edgy glam, especially with tight cornrow braids, perfectly laid curled edges, defined eyes, nude glossy lips, a pair of gold and black Casadei ‘Blade Jeannie’ strappy ankle strap sandals, and a statement gold basket weave Vhernier ‘Giunco’ cuff bracelet. 
The last two wishes for today are for Travis Scott & Kylie Jenner. I would have loved to see the on again off again couple back on the Grammy’s red carpet together. But since he is just nominated for one Grammy this year, Best Melodic Rap Performance, I doubt we will see either of them on the red carpet either in person or virtually. If they do I would love to see them rock superb complimentary moments starting with an industrial grey Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2021 utilitarian inspired double breasted suit with a light grey turtleneck (a menswear trend this awards season), and a red silk flower boutonniere for Travis styled with a pair of black calfskin leather Dior Men ‘Dior Explorer Boot II’ oblique embossed combat boots. It’s a cool yet chic moment and I feel like it would be something that Travis would be drawn to. For Kylie I wanted glamour and sex appeal and I found it in this red one shoulder Atelier Versace Spring 2021 Couture column gown which features a structured origami petal inspired sculptural shoulder detail and a thigh high split. I am obsessed with this gown and while I wouldn’t usually waste this major moment on Kylie I know that if anyone could bring up a major IG red carpet moment it would be Kylie. Taking this gown and styling it with a sleek flip style high pony tail, defined eyes, Kylie Cosmetics ‘Lovey Dovey’ matte lips, simple red satin Versace ankle strap platform sandals, and a selection of Jacob & Co. jewels including a pair of white diamond art deco inspired chandelier earrings and a dazzling pigeon blood ruby and white diamond three row bracelet would make sure this statement look would compliment the Dior on Travis perfectly.

Kicking things off today is this years most nominated artist Beyonce who has 9 nominations thanks to her Black is King visual album including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Despite all of those nominations she is not one of the performers this year and I highly doubt we will see her get all dressed up for any sort of live acceptance speech should she win any of those 9 awards. I had so many ideas for what to pick for Dua Lipa to wear for the Grammy Awards. I was originally going to go down the route of vintage Thierry Mugler Couture, but then Kim Jones made his debut as the creative director at Fendi. The moment I saw this ivory sheer pearl embellished caped column gown with a halterneck bodysuit and a dramatic train it spoke to me. It was a really cool moment that gives me regal vibes as well as rock and roll glamour. I feel like it would definitely be something that Dua would be drawn to and since she is on the list of performers in addition to being nominated for six Grammy’s including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. So when I saw that the rapper who is nominated for FOUR Grammy’s including Record of the Year and Best New Artist was going to be performing this year I wanted to make sure I was giving a major fashion moment. I went through all sorts of ideas when I was thinking about what the perfect look would be for Megan I went through a couple of ideas, but I thought about going the custom route going off the rack and picking this
Finishing off today is the beautiful Taylor Swift who is nominated for six Grammy’s and will be performing this weekend so I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet. Despite multiple nominations since Taylor hasn’t attended a Grammy’s ceremony since 2016 when she won several for her album 1989. So I am really interested to see what she will bring this year. When she dropped Folklore and Evermore last year Taylor seemed to ignite the Cottagecore trend, and a refound love of cardigans. I’ve wanted to see what this would bring in terms of red carpet style, but Taylor has skipped pretty much all of the music awards shows during the pandemic. When I was thinking of something that I feel would fit the vibe of her recent albums, but still give us red carpet I was having a hard time coming up with the right pick. Then I watched the Valentino Spring 2021 Couture show and I immediately fell in love with this light grey slip style gown with a dramatic train paired with a copper brown knit sweater vest that was worn asymmetrically on the runway and I would keep it that way for Swiftie. Finishing out the look with a soft romantic updo, defined eyes, her signature bold red lips, 
I always love seeing Angela Bassett on the red carpet. She knows how to bring drama to the red carpet and I know that she will bring a major moment for this years Golden Globe Awards. I am definitely setting my expectations high. I went left of a typical gown option for Angela instead going for the drama thanks to this deep royal blue Azzi & Osta Fall 2020 Couture pant ensemble which features a blouse with a v-neckline, structured peplum embellished with embroidered feathers, and dramatic ruffled cape sleeves that turn into a train paired with matching straight leg trousers. There are very few people who I think could actually sell this look to me and I think that Angela is definitely in that small list. Finishing out this list is the beautiful Salma Hayek. I like to refer to her as the first lady of Kering as her husband is the CEO of the fashion powerhouse conglomerate. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that we almost always see Salma wearing looks from the companies different fashion houses. The biggest jewel in the Kering crown is Gucci and that is the brand that Salma turns to the most often. I won’t lie I haven’t loved Salma in Gucci since Alessandro Michele took the reigns, but I have to say that as soon as I saw this light pink pleated one shoulder gown from the Gucci Spring 2021 RTW collection I knew it was a perfect look for Salma. It is simple and chic and I think that is exactly what she needs for a successful Gucci moment on the red carpet. Daisy Edgar Jones is nominated for her first Golden Globe Award for her performance in Normal People. I was looking at Daisy’s red carpet history and saw that she spent some time in Venice as a guest of Miu Miu so of course I turned back to the brand for her Globes gown. I would love to see the Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television nominee wearing this black tuxedo inspired Miu Miu column gown with a criss-cross bow detailed neckline, empire waist, and a thigh high split. It is a super glamorous moment and I feel like it would definitely be a perfect choice for Daisy. Now had this been for an actual red carpet I would have wanted to see a customized version with black beading and a dramatic train, but for the Globes from home I would love to see this as a perfect option. I would say that I was surprised to see Jared Leto amongst the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture nominees for his performance in The Little Things. I always love to see what he will bring to the red carpet. He is anything but predictable when it comes to his fashion choices, but I knew immediately what I wanted to see him bring to life for this years Golden Globe Awards. I would say that even if he is to appear from home I would imagine that he will still serve a look. We know he is a friend and face of Gucci so I immediately thought of him wearing this purple suit (which I believe is suede) from the Gucci Spring 2021/Pre-Fall 2021 Menswear collection which features a cropped blazer with gold baroque scroll embroidery, matching flared trousers, and a beige pussy bow blouse. He is all for a bold 70’s inspired menswear moment and this is definitely something I want to see from Jared at the Globes. There isn’t much to do to make this better, but I would take the lookbook shoes and swap them for a pair of 
I wasn’t a big fan of the emerald satin sack gown Jodie Comer wore for last years Golden Globe Awards red carpet. I was even less enthused by all her rainbow accessories. I want to see the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama nominee serve up a super chic look. She skipped out on attending the at home Emmy’s but I hope she brings a glamorous moment to the screen at this years Golden Globe Awards wearing this electric blue Atelier Versace Spring 2021 Couture one shoulder gown which features a blue and white crystal embellished bodice, cape sash detail, and a thigh high split. She brings bold, edgy glamour to any red carpet she steps out onto and I would love to see her bring something phenomenal to the screen at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards from home. I want Rosamund to bring sleek, edgy glamour to this with this white Stephane Rolland Spring 2021 Couture sweater gown in white crepe which features a window embroidered with a crystal cascade, long sleeves, and a dramatic train. It was one of my favorite gowns from the Spring 2021 Couture collections and I feel like Rosamund has the stature to really make this gown come to life. Her roll of a grieving mother in Pieces of a Woman has earned Vanessa Kirby her first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. I know that Vanessa has phenomenal style and I really want to see her serve up looks during this awards season. I would assume she will go for labels like Dior, Tom Ford, Armani, and Versace; but when I was looking on the runways for the perfect gown for Vanessa to wear for the Golden Globe Awards I feel in love with the idea of her wearing this nude pink Ashi Studio Spring 2021 RTW column gown which is covered with pearl embroidery with a spray of details on the bodice and features a v-neck. I think it would look like a second skin on Vanessa and with the right styling would be one of her best looks to date. I think the moments I am missing the most from the cancelled promo tour and awards season red carpets from is Cate Blanchett. Regular readers should know that Cate will always be a queen to me (even if I was really disappointed in her run during the Venice Film Festival last year) and I would have expected major things from her. For the AFI Awards I would have loved to see Queen Cate give us a very chic moment wearing this gold Lanvin Spring 2021 RTW silk pant set which features a chinoiserie inspired asymmetrical button down blouse with a chic metallic thread Koi fish embroidered paired with a v-banded wide leg pants. I have been loving this look and there aren’t many red carpets that it would be appropriate for, but for a brunch event I definitely think that it would be perfect especially styled with soft waves, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, 
Elizabeth Banks is another style favorite, there are many amongst this cast, and yes I am sad that we aren’t going to see her at the AFI Awards either. When thinking about the casual glam look I wanted to see Elizabeth wear I immediately thought of this periwinkle Elie Saab Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a matching floral jacquard double breasted coat and high waisted pleated above the knee skirt paired with a solid silk chiffon v-neck sleeveless top. It is a very chic moment and I definitely feel like it is something that Elizabeth would wear. Now I would have Liz wear the coat over her shoulders as it was styled in the lookbook finishing the moment with soft wave bob, defined eyes, poppy pink lips, a pair of 
Niecy Nash has some bold style and I am definitely intrigued to see what she brings to the red carpet. I would have loved seeing Niecy showcase this bold 
Rose Byrne is just another major fashion girl in the cast of Mrs. America. I love the risks that she takes and that no matter what she wears she always puts forth the the most. So thinking about what I wanted to see her wearing for the AFI Awards I took inspiration in her character from Mrs. America and thought about Gloria Steinem and her iconic 70’s style. I saw this Victoria Beckham Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a butter yellow virgin wool two button blazer, a ruffle trimmed cardigan layered over a ruffle trimmed ribbed turtleneck knit skirt tucked into camel virgin wool split-hem straight leg trousers. It is that perfect mix of 70’s bohemian and tailoring and I can imagine it being a phenomenal moment on Rose. I would keep the styling very 70’s as well finishing the look with a sleek bob, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, the necklace from the lookbook, and a pair of 
As I continue writing down this list I am getting more and more FOMO for this years AFI Awards. There are so many amazing fashion girls in the programs being honored and Sarah Paulson is another amazing fashion girl who I am sure would have brought a major look to the red carpet. She was another who I knew immediately what look I wanted to pick for her. I thought of this Prada Spring 2021 RTW ensemble which features a grey mohair v-neck sweater worn with the sleeves pushed up layered over a caution cone orange openwork viscose turtleneck top paired with a grey wool kick pleat a-line midi skirt with a safety buckle belted waist. It is cool and feminine all at the same time and I know that Sarah has the carriage to really make this look come to life. Now I was really turned on by the baby pink pumps the look was styled with on the runway. In fact I was originally thinking about keeping them, but the more I think about it the more I would like to see those same
Finishing out today is the beautiful Uzo Aduba who is the only member of the cast who was nominated at the Emmy’s last year to actually win and so I would bet that she would be font and center here had there been a red carpet for the AFI Awards this year. For this more casual event I went with a dress off the rack from a designer we haven’t seen Uzo wearing before. I wanted a great Gucci printed dress and I fell in love with this 
A$AP Rocky is known for bringing the fashion factor to the red carpet. He has favored Dior Homme since Kim Jones took the helm, but instead I went to another super hyped brand for him to wear for the VMAs. I LOVE this black and chocolate brown Bottega Veneta Fall 2020 collection ensemble which features a dancing shadow sheer knit button down long sleeve top, a pair of high waisted straight leg pants, and a cummerbund. It isn’t a look for the faint of heart and I think that A$AP Rocky would definitely be able to sell it to me with ease for the VMAs. 
Harry Styles is a Gucci devotee. I live that Harry, especially as a a straight man, wants to blur the lines of gender on the red carpet. Unfortunately it often doesn’t work and he ends up looking like a grandma in ill-fitting clothing. Had there been a red carpet for this years VMAs I would have LOVED to see Harry rock this peach and bright floral printed Gucci Resort 2021 Menswear suit which features a box cut double breasted jacket, flared wide leg trousers, and a beige pussy bow blouse. It is definitely right up Harry’s sense of style and I feel like we will definitely see him bring this look to life at some point. His tousled waves and a pair of 
John Legend is nominated in two new categories at the VMA’s. He could take home the Moonperson for Best Music Video from Home and/or Best Quarantine Performance. Now with his awards being taken from the Pandemic performance shift I would imagine that if John won anything that he will accept it from home super casual. It’s a shame because I always love seeing him and wife Chrissy Teigan rocking a red carpet. So of course I had to pick two looks for the couple as if there were going to be a red carpet. For John I would have loved to see him rock this Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh Resort 2021 Menswear suit which features a grey single button blazer with an asymmetrical band detail on the waist and a pair of slim fit black trousers. Now I would have switched up the styling a bit instead styling it with a crisp white shirt, a black bow tie, and a pair of 
I love Maluma. He is always one to serve a look so I am really excited to see what he will wear for the VMAs where he is both nominated and performing. I went through a gambit of different labels when I was thinking about what to pick for Maluma, but it was this Dior grey two button double breasted Dior Men Spring 2019 Menswear suit with a cream to fuchsia ombre silk sash kept popping back into my mind. We’ve seen a couple iterations of this look on the red carpet thanks to Gwendoline Christie and Darren Criss, but I feel like Maluma would definitely give this style a MAJOR red carpet moment. The last look today is for Travis Scott. I’ve definitely kept an eye on Travis and his style. He tends to favor looks from Dior Homme or Louis Vuitton, but I saw this sunset print Balmain Resort 2021 Menswear blazer and matching button down shirt worn unbuttoned with a black t-shirt and black trousers and it spoke to me. It is a super cool look and I feel like Travis would bring his effortless cool vibe to this look for sure. I would finish the look with statement sneakers via a pair of 
In a statement from the festival Regina King said, “We are pinching ourselves to have been selected to be a part of the Venice Film Festival — such a prestigious festival. Excited to announce another step in this film’s journey.” We don’t know yet if there will be a delegation headed to Venice to promote the film. I am PRAYING that we will see Regina on the Lido red carpet, but with current restrictions on US travel to Europe due to COVID-19 I just don’t know. In the effort to have a positive outlook I went on the hunt for two perfect looks for Regina to wear in Venice to promote her directorial debut. For the photocall I would definitely love to see her wearing this 
So far in my wishes for Cate Blanchett to wear on the red carpet in Venice have been pretty expected. Now I don’t expect Cate to play it safe all festival long. I want to see her take risks and give us real fashion queen moments like I know she can deliver. I am honestly shocked that Cate hasn’t given us a Richard Quinn moment on the red carpet. I feel like his avant garde yet ladylike sensibility is right in line with her sense of style. I was excited that the selection expanded because I definitely feel like this wish for Cate to wear this dramatic gown from the Richard Quinn Spring 2020 RTW collection is perfect. I adore the intricately beaded long sleeve floral pattern drop waist bodice padded hips, jewel neckline, a full silk skirt, and a bow detail. It doesn’t surprise me it hasn’t been worn since it really would need the perfect person to bring it to life. I feel like Cate on the red carpet in Venice would be the perfect platform to finally give this gown a red carpet moment it most definitely deserves. So of course I had to make sure that she would be included in my wishes for this years festival. I feel like she and her stylist Victor Blanco are cooking up something super chic from the likes of Etro or Alberta Ferretti like they have been, but I’ve decided to give the Bulgari ambassador two major couture moments to bring to life in Venice. I knew immediately when I heard that Nieves was attending that one wish I was going to have for her is this acid green Armani Prive Spring 2012 Couture dramatic asymmetrically ruffled neckline column gown with a beaded one shoulder detail from the brands second showing of the collection in Beijing. I’m honestly shocked that I’ve picked two black looks to be honest, but they both just spoke to me. In the course of my wishes for the 2020 Venice Film Festival I have a whole set of wishes for jury president Cate Blanchett. Regular readers know I LOVE me some Cate Blanchett and I am praying to the fashion gods that she will deliver Best Dressed of the Year worthy moments. Four of the past nine Best Dressed of the Year lists have included Cate giving us dramatic glamour. Now she is the face of an Armani fragrance and the Italian fashion label is a sponsor of the festival so I have a feeling that Cate will wear a couple of looks from the label on the red carpet. Gucci is usually a staple on the red carpet in Venice so I turned to the Italian fashion brand for this look for Ludivine. I love this metallic purple sequin Gucci Pre-Fall 2020 long poet sleeve, straight fit gown which features a mandarin inspired collar, peekaboo details on the check and shoulders, and a thigh high split and I feel like it could be a really cool look for Ludivine to wear. Up to today all the lovely ladies I have wished to see represent Armani in Venice adding glamour to the red carpet have been those with direct connections to campaigns with the brand. We have seen the label invite some other stars to the red carpet in Venice to promote the brands beauty and runway collections. So with that in mind I decided I wanted to add a little fantasy to these wishes. In a perfect world I would love to see Emmy Rossum jetted to Venice to walk the festivals red carpet wearing two gorgeous Armani Prive gowns. We’ve seen Emmy wear Armani for the Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, WWD Honors, the Critics Choice Awards, and the Toronto Film Festival in the past. It is always a very glamorous pairing. If she were to head to Venice to promote the brand I would love to see her kick off her time at the festival wearing this bold electric blue hand embroidered arabesque lace one shoulder a-line gown from the Armani Prive Spring 2020 Couture collection. I definitely feel like we will see this gown in Venice and Emmy would definitely be able to bring it to life with ease styling it with a sleek retro updo, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of matching
