2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

The Grammy Awards are always one of the most fun red carpets of the year. I’ve always been excited to see what the stars will bring and I have to say that is still true this year. I have been quite happy with many of the previous music awards events. I want to see everyone bring GLAMOUR and DRAMA to the “red carpet” at the Grammy Awards this year, whatever it will look like. I have some major moments in my wishes this year and several of them are in today’s set. Are you ready to get into them with me? Ariana Grande is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Lady Gaga for their hit song Rain On Me. It is the only nomination Ari earned this year and she is not performing. What does that mean? Well I would say that means that we won’t be seeing her on a red carpet this year, but with the whole “red carpet from home” idea we’ve seen I hope that she will serve up a chic look on Instagram. When thinking about what I would love to see Ari wear for the Grammy’s red carpet I thought that going short with this sleeveless ice blue Elie Saab Spring 2021 Couture halter skater style dress with intricate beaded floral embroidery, an a line skirt covered in feathers, and a tulle train would be perfect. It’s fun, flirty, and a little ice capades-y and I think those are all thinks that are perfectly in tune with Ariana’s style. I think with her signature high pony, defined winged cat eyes, rose pink lips, silver crystal embellished PVC Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Catia’ ankle wrap sandals, and a pair of white diamond Butani cluster earrings that this look would scream youthful, flirty glamour from head to toe. I’ve been so excited about what Doja Cat would wear for the Grammy’s since I started to get to know her style over the fall. She has rocked major moments from Versace, Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, and Georges Hobeika Haute Couture for the different music award shows last fall and it is just leaving me really excited to see what the Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Solo Pop Performance nominee will bring to the Grammy’s, especially since she will be there in person as a performer. I went for two looks one for the “red carpet” and one for the stage to accept any award that she might take home. For the red carpet I’ve had my heart set on this white and silver Viktor & Rolf Spring 2021 Couture ensemble which features a heavily embellished bralet over a cropped white puffy sleeve button down and a high waisted tiered ball skirt since I first saw it. I feel like this gown is the perfect meshing of 80’s DRAMA and sex appeal in a very modern way. Doja is a fashion chameleon and I feel like she could definitely make it work. I would style this ensemble with a sleet retro inspired updo, defined eyes, wine red lined matte red lips, a pair of white Amina Muaddi ‘Zula’ PVC-trimmed and white leather strappy sandals, and a selection of major Lorraine Schwartz jewels including ‘Lightning bolt’ white diamond cluster earrings, a halo set three stone white diamond ring, a white diamond spear head coil ring, and a halo set marquis cut white diamond cocktail ring. Now all that being said I would say that after Doja was virtually front row at the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection presentation this week I would imagine that she will definitely be rocking a Givenchy look for the show this weekend. While I would still love to see that Viktor & Rolf look on the red carpet I think that this black crystal embellished slip gown with a beaded fringe hem from the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection would be cool. Now I would change the look up ditching that coat it was styled with and then lining the sheer gown with liquid sequins to really elevate the glamour moment of this look. I would go full classic glam with this look styling it with a sleek fingerwave updo, defined eyes, bold matte red lips, a pair of sky high black Jimmy Choo ‘Max 150’ suede peep toe ankle strap sandals, and even more Lorraine Schwartz jewels including emerald cut emerald and white diamond drop earrings, a Colombian emerald 3 stone cocktail ring, and a white diamond and emerald angular cocktail ring to make sure that both of these would be astonishing moments for Doja to rock for her first Grammy’s red carpet. Justin & Hailey Beiber will also most likely be celebrating the Grammy’s from home since the singer who is nominated for 4 awards isn’t performing this year. The two are notoriously private as a couple and they don’t often do couples appearances. That being said I would have loved to see the couple work the Grammy’s red carpet together this year if it were a normal red carpet. Now the two have like polar opposite styles with Justin very laid back and Hailey a glamizon, but I feel like I picked looks for the two that speak to their individual style, but would compliment each other perfectly. For Justin I turned to the Celine Spring 2021 Menswear collection and this major black, red, and white color blocked leather bomber with gold detailing pair with two tone light wash loose fit jeans. Now the look was styled without a shirt on the runway, but I would add a white Celine ‘The Dancing Kid” loose fit t-shirt to the look as well as a pair of white and beige Celine ‘Blank’ low lace up toe cap sneakers to really make it a cool moment. Now for Hailey I went for super sexy glam with this black and red strapless Tony Ward Spring 2021 Couture intricately beaded sheer tulle column gown with a thigh high split and a built in bodysuit. It would absolutely be something that Hailey would be drawn to and I think it would compliment that Celine look for Justin perfectly. To complete this look perfectly for Hailey I would style this gown with a sleek bun updo with face framing tendrils, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Epic Rose 100’ wraparound ankle strap sandals and a silver pin heel, and a selection of deGrisogono jewels including black diamond and ruby ‘Volcano’ drop earrings and a dazzling white diamond and ruby cocktail ring. Lady Gaga is currently in Rome filming the new Ridley Scott “House of Gucci” movie so I would say that since she is in the production bubble that we will not be seeing her at the Grammy’s this year. She is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album and I would LOVE to still see her show us a major fashion moment on Instagram celebrating the Grammy Awards. I’ve been  wishing to see Gaga wearing this shocking pink velvet draped Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture gown which is draped from a headband and I know that she is really the only person who could sell this moment to me. I seriously don’t know who else could wear all this velvet and not get lost, but I know that Gaga would be able to work through this gown and serve up a major moment for me. I would style this gown with the gold glitter Valentino Spring 2021 Couture ankle strap crazy platform pumps, and over a million dollars in Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. jewels including a vintage 18k gold set white diamond, pink rubellite, and turqouise collar necklace from the 1960’s which sold at Christie’s for $905,000, an 18k gold ‘Bow Tie’ cuff bracelet, and a major 18k gold and platinum set ‘Tapestry’ white diamond and rubellite cocktail ring. It would SCREAM major avant garde glamour from head to toeWrapping up today is the fabulous Tiffany Haddish who is nominated for Best Comedy Album. I don’t know if we’ll see Tiffany at the Grammy’s yet, but I hope to at least see her show up with a major IG moment if she isn’t headed to the Staples Center. While I’ve gone for very avant garde moments for most of the stars in these wishes I wanted to go for something sleeker and more simplistic for her since she isn’t one of the music nominees. I feel like this black sheath dress from the David Koma Pre-Fall 2021 collection which features short flutter sleeves, plexi crystal circles on a peplum busts and a center split. It is sleek and sexy rock and roll glam and I feel like Tiffany would definitely be able to sell this look to me with ease especially if styled with her shaved head, defined eyes, deep red glossy lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Spikaqueen 100’ crystal embellished PVC ankle strap pointed toe sandals, and Gismondi 1754 jewels including white diamond ‘Niagara’ waterfall cluster earrings and a white diamond ear cuff in both ears.

The 2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS Sunday March 14, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2020 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

With every day that comes I am getting more and more excited for the 2020 American Music Awards. The presenters and performers list is really good. It is going to be the most star studded night since lockdown hit back in March. I’m holding out hope that everyone will be on the top of their glam game. I want this red carpet to rival the Oscars and Grammy’s earlier this year in a time that almost feels foreign. All of the looks in today’s wishes would definitely make for a major night of fashion. Let’s start today’s wishes by digging into the archives for Cardi B, who is nominated for 3 American Music Awards. She has been a big fan of Mugler and pretty much since she burst onto the scene. She’s rocked major modern and vintage Mugler on several occasions. For this weekends red carpet I went back into the brands archives to pick a major moment for Cardi to bring to life with this major ensemble from the Thierry Mugler Fall 1995 Couture collection which features a huge white fur coat with a train and a black to nude sequin ombre fitted column gown with long sleeves, an illusion bodice, and a crystal embellished necklace. I definitely feel like this would be a phenomenal moment for Cardi while still being the perfect meshing of hood glam and haute couture. That coat would definitely draw in some hate from PETA, but Cardi isn’t afraid to wear a fur and that is what really sold the idea of this look to me. A sleek braided high bun updo with curled edges, thick winged smokey eyes, deep berry red lips, a pair of black crystal embellished Giuseppe Zanotti peep toe double stacked stiletto pumps, and Lorraine Schwartz earrings made of 100 carats of round cut white diamonds and teardrop colombian emeralds would definitely make this the major uber glam statement making moment I want to see from Cardi. Harry Styles has been blurring the gender lines, ever so slightly, for a while now. He was lauded for being the first solo man to cover VOGUE wearing a Gucci gown none the less recently. I have gone back and forth when it comes to Harry’s sense of style. I want him to really deliver, but often times it falls flat. I think my expectations for his style are a little higher than what the Gucci people will let him get to. Now while he is a face of Gucci, and there is a purple suit from the recently presented Gucci Spring 2021 Collection I would love to see Harry wear, I decided to go left and pick this black J.W. Anderson Spring 2021 Menswear tuxedo which features a bow detailed waist tuxedo dress and high waisted harem pants. This look is such a statement. It would continue to blur the lines between masculinity and femininity for Harry and I would love to see him give it the moment it deserves. I would style this look with a pair of black patent leather Jimmy Choo ‘Foxley’ tassel detailed loafers, white Gucci logo tube socks with black bands on the ankles, and a single Cartier ‘Pluie de Cartier’ plume inspired white diamond drop earring. It would make it a really cool moment for Harry to bring to life. Justin Beiber is performing at the AMA’s this weekend (where he is also nominated for 4 awards). I hear it’s going to be an almost identical performance to the one he just gave this last weekend at the People’s Choice Awards. I hope not, but I also hope we see Justin serve a look on the red carpet. While I appreciate his more laid back style I know his stylist Karla Welch would be able to get him into something much more fashion-y which is why I picked this really cool hand drawn Burberry by Riccardo Tisci Spring 2021 RTW look which features a long sleeve button down shirt and straight leg trousers. I love how the buttons on the sleeve were styled unbuttoned on the runway and I would do the same for Justin if I was dressing him. Honestly I would keep all the runway styling except I would swap the shoes for a pair of white Nike ‘Air Force 1 Low Supreme I/O Michael Lau’ quilted leather sneakers. Now I doubt it, but who would be a better person to introduce Justin’s performance than his supermodel wife Hailey Baldwin? It’s been a really long time since we’ve seen her make a public appearance and I would love to see her up the glam game stepping out for the American Music Awards with Justin wearing this brick red David Koma Spring 2021 RTW halter gown which features crystal tube trimming at the neck and on the split, a cutout curved split, and a sheath silhouette. It is a sexy and sporty yet very glamorous moment that I think Hailey would be able to serve up on the red carpet. A sleek center parted bob, defined eyes, soft blush pink lips, silver Azzedine Alaia twisted studded rope strappy metallic leather sandals, and glamorous Kwiat ‘Cobblestone’ teardrop pendant drop pave set white diamond drop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches. Lady Gaga isn’t confirmed to attend the American Music Awards as of yet despite the fact she is nominated for 4 awards. I was all over the map when it came to deciding what I would want to see Gaga wear on this red carpet if she were to walk the red carpet. Ultimately I saw this lavender Germainer Spring 2021 RTW off the shoulder gown which features intricate ruching, a ruffled neckline, poet sleeves, tulip hips, and a flared hem and thought it would be a major moment for Gaga to bring to life. Believe it or not this gown is made up of just 5 rectangles of fashion so this look is considered to be zero waist. Germainer is one of the rising stars in sustainable fashion and I feel that in addition to the major alien like drama of the look that is something that would drawn Gaga to this look. I went round and round with how I would style this look. I adore the way the model was painted lavender to match the gown, and I can totally see Gaga doing that. I just don’t know if she would do it after the designer did in the lookbook. Instead I decided that a high metallic lavender high ponytail wig, bold smokey eyes, a statement silver crystal embellished Rinaldy Yunardi baroque inspired couture mask (which is decorative and Gaga would need a real protective mask underneath), and lavender glitter and clear PVC Pleaser ‘Adore’ crazy platform sandals. It would all make for a truly major alien glam moment. Closing out today is Maren Morris who is nominated for two AMA’s. I know she has potential. I can see it deep inside, but she doesn’t wear anything well. She has terrible taste and I know it isn’t the stylist. She has had multiple and no one has been able to make me like her red carpet looks. So I didn’t even try to pick something that would be a game changer for her standing on the red carpet, but instead opting for something I feel like is exactly what we should come to expect from Maren. I think she would be all about this hot pink and electric blue silk charmuse one shoulder Redemption Spring 2021 RTW 80’s inspired draped gown which features a bow detail on one hip, faux wrap style skirt, and a thigh high split. I personally hate it and there are very few I think could really sell it to me. That being said Maren isn’t one of them, but again it’s almost like I’ve given up at this point. A loose updo, defined eyes, soft pink glossy lips, hot pink Giuseppe Zanotti crystal trimmed ankle strap sandals, and a pair of one of a kind fancy shape Norman Silverman floral inspired dangle earrings set in 18K white gold might be enough to make me not hate it, but the look would have to be tailored perfectly.

The 2020 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday November 22, 2020. Check out all of my wishes for this red carpet here.

Fall 2020 Couture Round Up Red Carpet Wish List

Couture this season was VERY different. We saw designers tackle moving presentation digitally in vastly different ways. Dior did a short video editorial and showcased petite mains work on miniatures. Hobeika recorded a show without an audience from his home in Lebanon. Ralph & Russo showed a mix of in person shot lookbook, a digital spokesmodel, and sketches. And most showed smaller paired down collections shot in lookbooks. I would love to see many of these looks on the red carpet so I am hoping that we start seeing red carpets return soon. Two seasons worth of looks are already headed to the archives without being worn. So check out the 61 wishes below I would love to see brought to life on the red carpet from the Fall 2020 Couture collections.

Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2020 Couture Red Carpet Wish List

When it comes to boundary pushing design I don’t think of Ulyana Sergeenko. Instead I know that when I see a Ulyana Sergeenko collection I know I am going to see clothes inspired by Victorian, Edwardian, and early 20th century fashion. That was no different this season. It did seem like Ulyana relied heavily on the 1930’s and 40’s for her inspiration for her Fall 2020 Couture lockdown collection. The video of the collection that was released during Ulyana’s dedicated slot during Haute Couture Online gave us a look into some of the atelier’s that the collection is created in including the labels own as well as the lace maker whose work was woven into many of the looks featured in this collection. There was a time when Ulyana was all over the red carpets, but there was a scandal that put the brand on the back burner. We have seen some stars, mostly models, turn to the brand for the red carpet recently. I would love to see some of these major glamour moments brought to life. So I wanted to put some ideas out there and hope for the best!

2020 Cannes Film Festival What Could Have Been Wish List: “Nomadland”

Director Chloe Zhao has been a fixture in Cannes in the past. Her last two features Songs My Brothers Taught Me and The Rider have screened at the festival in the Directors Fortnight section. The Directors Fortnight is an independent section held in parallel to the main competition of the festival. Chloe’s latest film Nomadland stars Frances McDormand as a near penniless woman in her sixties who travels across the United States. The film was looking like a strong choice to be the directors first film to be selected for the main competition but was in post-production as the pandemic struck.Frances McDormand is NOT a fashion girl by any stretch of the imagination. She doesn’t really give any fucks about glam or fashion. When she was on a winning awards season run a couple of years ago she skipped the red carpets at all of the awards just showing up inside even at the Oscars. That whole awards season she wore nothing but Valentino the whole season. It started as off the rack and slowly turned custom. That year culminated with Frances being the guest of Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli at the Met Gala (one of the only carpets I’ve seen Frances walk.) So when I was picking looks I would have liked to see Frances wear in Cannes to promote Nomadland I knew that nothing but Valentino would be suitable. Now I will say that if Frances even made the trip to Cannes that I wouldn’t expect to see her do the photocall. If she did however I think that this hot pink and tangerine floral print Valentino Pre-Fall 2020 long blouson sleeve midi dress would be a really fun moment. It fits Frances’s sense of style for sure, but in a bright and fun moment. Now for most I would style this dress with a fun pair of heels maybe a fun matching lipstick, but that isn’t Frances. So instead I would go with her typical unkempt hair and bare face as well as so ugly they are cute gold Roger Vivier ‘Trekky Viv’ raffia crystal buckle rubber sole flat sandals. Since there isn’t individual posing on the red carpet at a films premiere for the cast I definitely think that Frances would join her cast members at the Palais de Festivals. Again I turned to Valentino, but turning to couture picking this blue, rose, and white Valentino Spring 2020 Couture long sleeve mosaic pattern trumpet gown for Frances. It is fun and that is why I wanted to see Frances bring this gown to Cannes again styled with her signature non beauty beauty vibe and a pair of royal blue, black, and white Roger Vivier ‘Viv Run’ crystal buckle sneaker meets sandal. I always look forward to seeing Bella Hadid in Cannes. As I said the other day she does two red carpets at the festival usually one in Dior, which accounts for my previous wish, and one not. Both are dripped with Bulgari jewels. Bella has given some major vintage moments on the red carpet over the last two years. As I was searching collections for my Met Gala wishes I thought that it would be great to continue my archive runway wishes onto other red carpets. So I looked at 90’s Jean-Louis Scherrer for Bella to wear in Cannes because the label just oozes sexy glamour. So I would love to see Bella show up on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals wearing this white beaded sculpted one shoulder column gown from the Jean-Louis Scherrer Fall 1998 Couture collection. I know Bella would make this a major moment with a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of iridescent silver Christian Louboutin ‘Veracite’ strappy platform slingback sandals, and a Bulgari High Jewelry ‘Cinemagia’ white diamond and onyx film reel inspired choker. There was a time I would get really excited to see Doutzen Kroes on the red carpet. This year I want to see Doutzen return to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet bringing head to toe perfection. I thought that a pants look might make for a really cool moment for Doutzen to bring to life this year so I turned to this black and white Givenchy Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which features a sleeveless tunic top embroidered with tassels all over and a plunging neckline and a pair of slim fit pants. This look is MAJOR from the runway, but I really want to see Doutzen make it even more glamorous with a sleek updo, thick defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ pointed toe half d’Orsay pumps, and a hit of sparkle via de Grisogono by Emmanuel Tarpin asymmetrical black and white diamond ribbon scroll cluster earrings. Hailey Beiber

2020 Cannes Film Festival What Could Have Been Wish List: “Top Gun: Maverick”

Tom Cruise and Cannes might not seem like the most natural of fits — the actor hasn’t appeared at the festival to promote one of his films since “Far and Away,” way back in 1992 — but the festival always needs a few big stars on the red carpet, and Cruise has continued to be one of the biggest star in the world. His much-hyped return to jet fuel-powered drama, “Top Gun: Maverick” boasts a stacked cast of both big names and rising talents, and would have benefited immensely from the global stage Cannes sets out. As with “Rocketman” last year, a “Top Gun” slot would have helped catapult the movie into its theatrical release, which was slated for June 24 and has sense been pushed back to December 23, 2020. I definitely would have expected to see this film screen as an out of competition gala. So let’s jump right into my wishes shall we?Jennifer Connelly is probably my LEAST favorite Louis Vuitton ambassador. She has been such a loyal friend to Nicholas Ghesquiere throughout his career and that loyalty has only grown stronger thanks to Louis Vuitton checks. So while I did decide to go left of Louis for other LV ambassadors for at least one of their looks for Cannes I stuck solely to the label for Jennifer. For the photocall for Top Gun: Maverick photocall I picked this grey, butter yellow, and white Louis Vuitton Fall 2020 RTW sleeveless sheath dress which features intricate leather detailing. The look is space age meets classic dressing and was one of my favorite pieces from this collection. Now while I would love to see this look styled simply I know that Jennifer will pair this dress with something a little more statement making in terms of accessories. I think that Jennifer would style this dress with a sharp pointed toe Louis Vuitton Fall 2020 RTW slingback zip up mid heel black and white leather pumps, a sleek center parted hairstyle tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, and soft pink lips. For the premiere I went back and forth on what look to pick for Jennifer. While I would imagine Nicholas would have created a custom gown for Jenn she does tends to wear mostly right off the runway looks. So I decided to go with this gold tiger print cocktail dress which features black satin bralet from the Louis Vuitton Fall 2020 RTW collection because it would be okay as it was presented or customized into a custom floor length gown. It is an edgy moment but could be quite glamorous. I would love to see this as a gown with a sleek updo, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, and a pair of black patent leather Louis Vuitton ‘Bliss’ multi-strap mary jane round toe chunky heel pumps. It would have made for two alright Louis Vuitton looks on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. My first wish for what I wanted to see Hailey Beiber bring to life in Cannes was really Barbie glam. For my second wish for Hailey I went to something that speaks to her more sexy side. I thought this pearl grey one shoulder Roberto Cavalli Couture column gown which features intricate beading on sheer fabric definitely would have spoken to that sexy side of Hailey’s style, but in a very modern glam manner. This gown definitely needs the right undergarments. So I would hope that Hailey’s stylist Maeve Riley would make sure the undergarments are perfectly nude. A sleek updo, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of silver crystal embellished Rene Caovilla ‘Cleo’ coil strap sandals, and white diamond Raggiante by de Grisogono High Jewelry earrings would all make sure this look balances sexy glamour in the perfect way. Chinese actress and pop start Li Yuchun is one I always get excited about seeing in Cannes. The L’Oreal Paris spokesmodel doesn’t bring the big princess moments to Cannes. She lets Elle Fanning, Araya Hargate, and Sonam Kapoor handle that. Instead Li Yuchun brings the real avant- grade fashion factor to Cannes. Her looks aren’t always for everyone. I remember her wearing deconstructed Mountie inspired shorts and boots ensemble from Maison Margiela one year for the Opening Ceremony and people hating it and me sitting behind my laptop eating my popcorn and gold clapping for the risk that she took. She really is the only one who could have made a look like that work not just on the red carpet in general, but especially in Cannes. I love when Li Yuchun brings the edgy glam to Cannes, so I turned to the master of edgy glam for my final wish for what I wanted to see her bring to life in Cannes. I’ve been really nostalgic for Gaultier since he announced his immediate retirement back in January. I wanted to see Gaultier worn EVERYWHERE. Both from his final couture show, which was a retrospective celebration of his entire career, and from his archives. For Li Yuchun I dug into Gaultier’s archive picking this menswear inspired glam ensemble which features a black satin double breasted tuxedo jacket with a big bow on the shoulders and a silver heavily beaded column evening skirt with splits on the front, back, and sides from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2016 Couture collection. This look is a really cool balance of femininity, masculinity, and glamour. I honestly think this could have been a major moment especially with Li Yuchun’s sterling rose colored hair. I would have styled this ensemble with a sleek side parted pixie style defined eyes, bold red lips, a black crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Sphere Ball & Chain’ minaudière, black leather Christian Louboutin ‘Filamenta’ strappy nude mesh paneled peep toe platform pumps, and Messika High Jewelry including the statement white diamond ‘Diamond Whirl’ collar necklace and asymmetrical white diamond ‘Shirin’ ornate rope style ear crawling earrings to make this look ensure that balance of masculine elegance and feminine glamour was done perfectly.

London Fashion Week Fall 2020 RTW Red Carpet Wish List

Well fashion month is officially over, so I guess it is time to recap with some of my favorite looks from the collections. Today I wishes for 64 looks that walked the runways during London Fashion Week. We didn’t see quite as many potential red carpet moments, or anywhere near as many shows, during London Fashion Week that we did from New York, but the looks definitely have me super excited to see what the next several months are going to bring. There are looks in this wish list perfect for galas, movie premieres, press events, music award shows, the Met Gala, the Cannes Film Festival and beyond. I went through these collections to share looks for friends of the brands as well as people who immediately shot mind when I saw the looks walk the runway.

Cannes 2019: L’Orealista’s Red Carpet Wish List Part 7

Including this list there are only two L’Orealista wishes left for the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, and the final one is just for a single L’Orealista. After that I have a few wishes for ‘Regulars’ and then it is full steam ahead into this years official selection followed by amfAR. I am super excited about this years edition because it seems like between the L’Orealista’s and the stars who have films screening that there are so many major red carpet moments waiting to happen. The ladies below include some of my favorite L’Orealista’s, some whom I am hoping will up their game, and some who are a little underrated. Up first is one of my always favorites: Araya A. Hargate. The Thai actress always embodies the idea of go big or go home. From her first Cannes where she wore Zac Posen to last year where she rocked Ashi Studio, Jean Paul Gaultier, Zuhair Murad, Ralph & Russo, and Giambattista Valli Couture. While most L’Orealista’s stay for just a day or two we can typically count on Araya staying for several days delivering moment after moment on this famed red carpet. While I could have picked a major look from every designer for Araya to wear in Cannes this year I decided to keep it to three different, yet equally dramatic, looks from some of her favorite labels. The first is a white Ashi Studio Spring 2019 Couture ensemble which features a strapless sheer pleated gown with intricate beaded embroidery and a feathered coat. Now this might be a little similar in style to a white feathered cape Ralph & Russo gown that Araya wore in 2017. While the feathers can be seen as incredibly similar I think that the vibe of the looks are completely different. The Ralph & Russo was incredibly structured and this Ashi Studio is breezy and more disco like. I would have her style this look with a high half up half down hairstyle, smokey eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of white Tabitha Simmons ‘Here She Comes’ crystal chandelier sandals, and a statement Chopard Red Carpet Collection diamond choker to make sure the disco vibe of this gown lives on. From disco to romance I would love to see Araya give us a new take on princess gowns this year opting for this baby pink Giambattista Valli Spring 2019 Couture high low gown which features dramatic ruffles along the square neckline and hem, puffy short sleeves, a full ball skirt, and a dramatic train. The look is definitely a risk because Araya comes across as very petite, but at 5’7″ she definitely has the height to pull off a look like this. I would still add a pair of rose pink satin Jimmy Choo ‘Santina’ crystal embellished platform sandals to give her just a little extra height in this gown. A sleek updo, defined eyes, bold pink lips, and a Chopard ‘The Garden of Kalahari’ collection diamond choker necklace would definitely put this look amongst some of Araya’s best Cannes moments ever. For my last wish for Araya to wear on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet I decided to stray away from picking another big princess moment. I wanted to give Araya a wide variety of styles to bring to life on the Cannes red carpet this year. So I picked this green and blue water inspired Zuhair Murad Spring 2019 Couture mermaid gown which features an asymmetrical neckline, fitted bodice and hips, a crystal buckle belted waist, intricate beading, and a flared 3D floral hem and train. This is dramatically different than what we typically see Araya wearing in Cannes. She tends to go for big volume or more of a floaty silhouette. It would also be one of the bolder colors that Araya has worn as well. While it is out of her normal wheelhouse I definitely believe that she could sell it to me. I would finish this look with a pair of custom Casadei ‘Flora’ platform sandals in the brands ‘Ariel’ colored metallic suede, a sleek updo, defined eyes, bold pink lips, Chopard Red Carpet Collection peridot chandelier earrings, and a statement Chopard Red Carpet Collection black opal, emerald, diamond, turquoise, and amethyst cuff bracelet to really compliment the mermaid vibes of this gown and ensure that Araya has a killer fashion run.  Ashley Benson made her Cannes Film Festival debut in 2017 and skipped last year. I am hoping that she attends this years festival, but I want to see an elevated version of Ashley’s style. She wore a chic off the rack Erdem gown in Cannes the last time she attended and this year I decided to go with major off the runway looks for her to wear this year. Up first is this black strapless Nedo by Nedret Taciroğlu Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features intricate texturing, embroidery, and embellishments. I tend to think that Nedo designs are tacky af, but there are some chic moments hiding in those collections and this gown is one of the good ones. It is dark, sexy, and romantic and that is what I think Ashley does best. This gown styled with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, a pair of black crystal embellished Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong Stardust’ sandals, and Chopard Red Carpet Collection diamond and emerald chandelier earrings would be perfection for Ashley to deliver on the Cannes red carpet. Look number two for Ashley is a brand we don’t really see on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet: Pamella Roland. The New York based designer definitely knows how to sell drama and glamour and I definitely think that the label does fit the glamour of Cannes perfectly. I saw this deep purple Pamella Roland Fall 2019 RTW embellished off-the-shoulder tulle gown which features a bustier bodice, laser cut sequin flowers, fitted waistline, and a full a-line ball skirt and the idea of Ashley wearing this gown in Cannes immediately clicked! It is beautiful. A dark romantic moment and I think that it would be perfectly styled with a sleek updo, dark purple smokey eyes, soft rose pink lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Dochas’ jewel embellished sandals, and a Chopard Red Carpet Collection amethyst, tanzanite, and diamond choker. The final look I’ve chosen for Ashley is the least moody. I went for strictly high glam picking this stone grey Zuhair Murad Spring 2019 Couture think strap ballgown which features a rounded neckline, intricate beaded embellishments, and a full skirt with a sweeping train. It isn’t anything boundary pushing in terms of design, none of the looks I’ve picked for Ashley are, but I think that it fits her sense of style while also pushing her sense of red carpet dressing just enough for the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Finishing this gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of silver metallic leather Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ sandals, and a simple yet glamorous Chopard Red Carpet Collection three strand diamond necklace would definitely ensure that Ashley oozes glamour on this red carpet. I know a lot of you have been waiting for my wishes for Deepika Padukone and here we go. The Bollywood beauty is slated to take her place on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the third time this year. Her first year she kinda faded into the background, but last year she definitely didn’t play second fiddle to anyone. She might have been third in my Best of Cannes list, but Deepika made second in my Best Dressed of 2018 list thanks to the major hot pink Ashi Studio Couture gown that she wore last year. That has me really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet at this years festival. I have read that at least one of her red carpet turns this year will come courtesy of Dundas. So I went to the brands runways and lookbooks searching for the perfect look for Deepika to wear this year, but wasn’t thrilled with anything as an option for a premiere. So I sent a message to Evita saying I needed a custom Dundas gown for Deepika to wear this year. I wanted a strapless black velvet mermaid gown with a dramatic train and intricate Indian crystal beaded embroidery and that is exactly what she delivered for me. The embellishments came off a Dundas Fall 2018 RTW velvet cape. I could actually see Deepika wearing the cape over the gown if she wanted, but honestly with the lighter and breezier air of the Cannes Film Festival I think that the strapless velvet gown is heavy enough. I would finish this look with a loose romantic updo, smokey eyes, burgundy glossy lips, a pair of black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Lilah’ strappy platform sandals, and a selection of Chopard Red Carpet Collection jewels including a rubellitte, black pearl, and diamond necklace and a ruby and diamond lattice cuff bracelet. The second look pays homage to Deepika’s Indian roots as it is a modern take on traditional Indian dressing from Indian designer Gaurav Gupta. I saw this silver two piece gown which features an intricately beaded and pleated bodice and a dramatic ruffled a-line skirt and was left breathless. It is beautiful and dramatic and I definitely think that it would be an absolutely major look for Deepika to wear in Cannes this year. I would also keep this look as a love letter to India selecting jewels from Mumbai based handmade jewelry label Jaipur Jewels including a pair of diamond rose shaped stud earrings and a dazzling diamond wreath necklace to add sparkle to this ensemble. A sleek high bun, silvery smokey eyes, bold red lips, the scarf shawl, and a pair of silver Rene Caovilla ‘Cleo’ crystal embellished coil sandals would all make this an absolutely major moment. The final look I’ve chosen for Deepika is definitely the most dramatic. I saw this red Michael Cinco Fall 2018 Couture off the shoulder feathered ball gown and fell in love with it immediately. I did for a quick second question if it wasn’t too similar to last years Ashi Studio gown, but ultimately decided that since this is a full length gown and the fact that it is red not pink that the looks are different enough for Deepika to wear this Michael Cinco creation on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals this year. This is definitely a major fashion moment, but Deepika has proven that she has the chops to really push through a lot of drama and wear a gown on the red carpet and not let it wear her. I would finish this gown with a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of red Giuseppe Zanotti ankle wrap peep toe platform sandals, Chopard Red Carpet Collection citrine and ruby drop earrings, and a statement Chopard Red Carpet Collection ruby, rubellitte, and citrine cuff watch bracelet to finish another major moment for Deepika to deliver on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Hailey Baldwin-Beiber has been a friend of L’Oreal for about two years now, but I don’t think she is actually considered a L’Orealista. That being said she has been a regular in Cannes so I am taking this opportunity to pick some looks I would love to see the newly married model bring to life on the famed French red carpet. In years past Hailey has worn labels like Twin-Set, Ralph & Russo, Elie Saab, and Roberto Cavalli Couture on the red carpets of the festival. I picked three looks from labels that Hailey brings to the red carpet and three looks I believe that she would definitely be drawn to. The first is a custom Alexandre Vauthier burgundy red velvet sleeveless draped gown which features a plunging halter neckline, thin belted waist with a crystal buckle, an open low back, and a long train which was inspired by the fall iteration of a draped long sleeve column gown that has become a Vauthier classic. I think that this sleeveless gown is perfect for Hailey to bring to life on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. It is a little bit of a departure from her normally overtly sexy looks, but Cannes is definitely a place to step out of ones comfort zone and push boundaries, and while this look isn’t considered boundary pushing by a long shot I think it is perfect for Hailey and with old Hollywood waves worn over shoulders, defined eyes, matching burgundy red lips, a pair of dark red Christian Louboutin ‘Jonatina’ PVC trimmed mirrored leather sandals, and a selection of de Grisogono jewels including a pair of ruby and black diamond pendant drop earrings and a statement ruby, black and white diamond cocktail ring I know she would deliver it in such a glamorous manner. From one glamorous gown to another. I was looking for super chic gowns for Hailey to wear in Cannes and I saw this ivory Elie Saab Spring 2019 Couture column draped gown which features an asymmetrical feathered strapless neckline, intricate pink floral embroidery, a thigh high split, and a pleated chiffon train and definitely think that it would make a glamorous, yet sexy, statement for her to wear on this years Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Finishing the look with a sleek “I Dream of Jeannie” high ponytail, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of gold Tom Ford crystal chain embellished sandals, and rose gold set de Grisogono ‘India’ pink opal and diamond drop earrings would add a modern twist to this classically glamorous gown. The final look I’ve picked for Hailey is more in tune with her typical style. She loves a very sexy fashion moment on the red carpet and I definitely can see her being drawn to this beautiful cotton candy pink Zuhair Murad Spring 2019 Couture one shoulder fully crystal beaded gown which features a slashed detail on the bodice, a belted waist, and a thigh high split. This sexy and glamorous gown is definitely right in Hailey’s wheelhouse and I think with a romantic updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, a pair of soft pink Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Janell’ rhinestone ankle cuff sandals, and pink rubellitte and diamond de Grisogono tassel earrings I think that Hailey would deliver some absolutely glamorous moments on the Cannes red carpets. Lara Stone is one of the supermodel L’Orealista’s whom I really want to love, but often I feel like she falls flat. On that note I will say that Lara wore my favorite looks of hers ever in Cannes two years ago when she wore a dramatic black Balmain feathered mermaid gown. Shes doesn’t often pick really dramatic gowns for Cannes, but I definitely think that she should. So the first look I’ve picked is a red draped satin Balenciaga Spring 2019 RTW asymmetrical gown which features long ruched sleeves, an origami folded bodice, and an asymmetrical midi length column skirt draped into a sweeping train to help push Lara out of her boundaries. I decided to use the photo of this gown on the Bergdorf Goodman website instead of the runway photo because I think it gives a better demonstration of what the gown would look like on a red carpet. I had actually saved this look in my cocktail folder of runway images because the runway images definitely gave this look more of a cocktail vibe, when in fact its this absolutely amazing gown. A sleek low bun, thick defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of red Gianvito Rossi ‘G-String’ sandals, and Cartier diamond and ruby cluster earrings all would definitely ensure that Lara kicks off her time in Cannes in high style. The next look I have for Lara to wear in Cannes this year is a custom white sequined strapless Balmain column gown which features a dramatic train and a silver beaded belted waist. The belt came direct from the Balmain Spring 2019 Couture collection and the sleek and glamorous design of the gown would definitely make this a sleek and glamorous modern moment on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet especially if paired with sleek center parted hair, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of white Gianvito Rossi PVC strap ‘Portofino’ sandals, and a selection of Cartier diamonds including wreath earrings and an art deco cuff bracelet. The final look I’ve picked for Lara is a look I am shocked didn’t get worn at some point during the last year with this black Givenchy Spring 2018 Couture long sleeve gown which features a plunging neckline and pleated ikat print panels on the column skirt. I love this gown and I definitely think that Lara could easily sell this gown to me, especially on a Cannes red carpet. Add a sleek low bun, defined eyes, red lips, a custom black satin Givenchy box clutch, a pair of black Givenchy strappy leather sandals, a pair of Cartier diamond and sapphire small drop earrings, and a dazzling Cartier diamond collar necklace and I know that Lara would definitely shut down the Cannes red carpet in this gown. Finishing out this list is one of my favorite red carpet models: Soo Joo Park. The South Korean model knows how to deliver edge, glamour, drama, and femininity on the red carpet. While I personally love her and her style I think that she is incredibly underrated. I want her to deliver some major moments on this years Cannes Film Festival red carpet starting with this black Chanel Spring 2019 Couture short cocktail ensemble. Soo Joo was one of Karl Lagerfeld’s many muses and I would be shocked if she doesn’t wear one of his designs during Cannes this year and I definitely think that while Cannes usually calls for a gown that this cocktail moment paired with a sleek center parted low bun, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Roger Vivier ‘Maharaja’ feather and crystal embellished satin sandals, and statement Chopard Red Carpet Collection diamond and emerald fringe earrings. Soo Joo loves herself a good Iris Van Herpen design on the red carpet and I would love to see her bring the avant garde couturier to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this year with this nude one shoulder asymmetrically draped layered from the designers Spring 2019 Couture collection which features a thigh high split. The gown would match Soo Joo’s skin tone perfectly and make it like she is wearing a edgy second skin. I would let that be the total vibe for the look styling this gown with a sleek high pony tail, defined eyes, nude lips, nude Aquazzura ‘Magic’ suede and PVC lace up sandals. The only pop of color I would add to this look would be courtesy of a pair of Chopard Red Carpet Collection black opal and multicolored precious stone drop earrings. The final look I’ve picked for Soo Joo to wear is from another of the brands whom she is quite close to with this nude and purple Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2019 Couture long sleeve column gown which features intricate crystal embellishments. This is actually Gaultier reissuing a style he made famous in his Fall 1995 RTW collection and have recently made a return thanks to a certain Kardashian. Now we very well could see this gown snatched up for the Met Gala tonight, but I would love to see it saved for Soo Joo to wear in Cannes while it perfectly fits this year ‘Camp’ Met Gala theme it would be a perfectly unexpected (yet still appropriate) moment for her to deliver on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals. Pair this gown with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of silver Jimmy Choo ‘Shiloh’ crystal embellished sandals, and Chopard diamond and amethyst earrings and Soo Joo would shut down the 2019 Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

The 2019 Cannes Film Festival opens Monday May 13, 2019 and runs through Saturday May 25, 2019.

2019 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 9

Color, edge, volume, and drama. That is what I am expecting a lot of on this years Met Gala red carpet that to the theme of this years exhibit “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” I definitely got very excited back in October of 2018 when this theme was announced. I live by the creed of #WhenInDoubtBeExtra so I always want to go with the go big or go home mentality when I pick all the looks I post on If I Was A Stylist, but when it came to this years Met Gala wishes it was a different challenge. I wanted to do a lot of custom looks and then searching runways for red carpet ready looks for this gala took a lot of time. That is why I didn’t do a lot of posting following the Oscars in the month of March. I was busy creating plans for all of my Met Gala wishes. So now here we are at the half way point in this years sets and honestly if just a small fraction of these wishes came true this would be one of the most major Met Gala red carpets ever. Coming off her Oscar season run as a Best Supporting Actress nominee for her performance in The Favourite I am hoping that we see Emma Stone on the Met Gala red carpet next month. I won’t lie when I say I was underwhelmed with all of Emma’s awards season looks. I haven’t been the biggest fan of Emma as a Louis Vuitton spokeswoman and I hope the contract ends soon, but until then I am doing custom looks for her to rock on the red carpet. I was inspired by the structured ruffled necklines from the Fall 2019 RTW collection for this look which features that bold red and black trimmed neckline, a black fully sequined fit to flare silhouette with a slight train, and a belted waist for this custom gown for Emma. It wasn’t until just right now that I realized that I unintentionally picked a Cruella De Ville look for Emma. She is attached to a live action movie about the animated villainess and this look could easily come off the set. Now that the idea is in my head Cruella is definitely a great inspiration for a ‘Camp’ theme and this gown with its animal pattern on the neck definitely shows you why. A sleek side parted low bun updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Overnight’ platform sandals, and simple Cartier ruby and diamond art deco pendant drop earrings would finish this look to perfection. Gwen Stefani is just about to finish her 3rd run of her Las Vegas residency “Just A Girl” and won’t be back on that stage until July, so I am really hoping that she is planning a trip to NYC to attend this years Met Gala. She hasn’t been to a Met Gala since the punk themed event back in 2013. That was incredibly fitting. This year with the ‘Camp’ theme I think is just as fitting with Gwen’s early style, so I am hoping that she will be on the red carpet. Instead of the typical designer like Marchesa or Versace I would usually go to for the perfect drama filled look for Gwen to wear on a red carpet like this I went to a newer designer: Christian Cowan. The New York based designer is know for his over the top club kid cool styles and I honestly think that his design aesthetic fits the ‘Camp’ theme perfectly. I fell in love with the idea of seeing this black and hot pink tulle checkerboard tiered strapless ballgown from the Christian Cowan Fall 2019 RTW collection since I saw it walk down the runway during New York Fashion Week back in January. I went through all kinds of options when it came to who I wanted to see bring this look to life on the red carpet, but it was ultimately Gwen who I chose to bring this dress to life. It has a lot of froth that someone could get lost in, but I definitely think that Gwen has the presence to really make this look work on the red carpet. I would want to see Christian add a black silk grosgrain ribbon ribbon to define Gwen’s waist in this gown. A sleek updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, silver studded Christian Louboutin ‘Collaclou’ pointed toe PVC pumps, and a single statement Lorraine Schwartz floral diamond ear-crawler meets drop earring would all make this the perfect return to the Met Gala red carpet for Gwen. Hailey Beiber has been a fixture on the Met Gala red carpet since she kinda burst onto the scene back in 2015. She has come a long way since that first Met Gala where she was a guest of Topshop in a custom cocktail dress. Since then she has rocked looks from Carolina Herrera and Tommy Hilfiger. I want to see her get a big step up from those this year being one to rock a custom Balenciaga creation on the red carpet. Since Demna Gvasalia took over the reigns as the creative director of Balenciaga the brands celebrity ensemble placements have been pretty much non existent, but Hailey was seated front row at the Balenciaga Fall 2019 RTW show so I have some hope. I decided to take a blue long sleeved sequin mini dress which features a structured watteau neckline to create this gown for Hailey to rock on the Met Gala red carpet. It almost has a bit of a Jetsons vibe if you watch the show and can actually see how the neckline juts out form the body. Now the gown aside from being covered completely in sequins and being a bold color doesn’t really “fit” the theme of this years gala, but then again Hailey hasn’t really abided by the theme in the past. I would infuse a little more of the ‘Camp’ aesthetic into the look via the styling. Hailey has talked about wearing a wig for this years red carpet and I feel like maybe a sleek ice blue waist long wig styled into a sleek high ponytail could add a fun ‘Camp’ spice to this look. I would finish the look with a black Christian Louboutin ‘Paloma’ clutch with the word “LOVE” embellished in rainbow crystals, a pair of Balenciaga graffiti print leather sandals, smokey eyes, bright pink lips, and a pair of statement de Grisogono sapphire and diamond ear clips to keep that ‘Camp’ spirit alive in this look. Marchesa is still a bit of an albatross to wear on the red carpet almost 2 years after the Weinstein scandal broke and the brand became a no mans land. It was actually at the Met Gala last year when Marchesa had its first major red carpet moment following the scandal being worn by Scarlett Johansson. I can count on my fingers how many other looks from the brand have been worn on the red carpet since then. I definitely want to see the brand on the red carpet at the Met Gala since the brands signature origami volume definitely helps bring the ‘Camp’ aesthetic to life. I saw this white and black ruffled floral print silk gown in the Marchesa Fall 2019 RTW lookbook and I fell in love. It is the kind of look that made me fall in love with the Marchesa brand in the first place and I think that it could bring the ‘Camp’ aesthetic and old Hollywood glamour to the Met Gala red carpet. As soon as I saw this gown Kate Beckinsale was the first person to pop into my mind and I think that since she’s such a great friend to the brand, in fact she is one of the few to actually wear Marchesa post scandal, that she would be a perfect choice to bring this gown to life for the Met Gala. Now some might be tempted to add a lot of pops of color to this look, but not me. Only pop of color I would add to the look is a bold red lip. Aside from that I think the perfect styling for this look includes a vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, black and silver Christian Louboutin ‘Marie Paillette’ PVC and ribbon tie strap sandals, and a pair of statement black and white diamond Lorraine Schwartz floral door knocker earrings. We are gearing up for the much anticipated release of season 2 of Big Little Lies and I think that means that we will most likely see many of the cast members on the red carpet at the Met Gala. Laura Dern attended her first Met after the show became a huge success in 2017 as the guest of Gabriela Hearst. Last year she was the guest of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the design duo behind Proenza Schouler, but honestly I forgot about that look totally. I turned back to the New York based design duo to create another look for Laura this year but one that kind of took a walk down memory lane. I took inspiration for the shape and layout of this custom Proenza Schouler gown from a halter cocktail dress from the brands Fall 2019 RTW collection and then used a bathing suit from the label I found online for the tie dye print on the bodice and then used the Spring 2010 RTW collection as the source for the beading and feather embellishments that adorn the hem of the fit to flare silk skirt. I think that this is more of a high fashion look than Laura typically wears on the red carpet, but I think that it works. I know that the meshing of Laura and Proenza is winning combination and I definitely think that she would be able to sell this look to me on the Met Gala red carpet. I would add a black sequined Jimmy Choo ‘Callie’ chain strap evening bag, a loose romantic updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ iridescent crystal embellished pointed toe pumps, and David Webb ‘Anjou’ emerald and diamond drop earrings to definitely ensure this look just screams high fashion bohemian glamour from head to toe. Finishing out this weekend of Met Gala glamour is the always gorgeous Rosamund Pike. She has become a major unofficial brand ambassador for Givenchy rocking the brand pretty much exclusively for all of her red carpet appearance for the last year. I think that means that she is the perfect person for Clare Waight Keller, the creative director of Givenchy, to bring to this years Met Gala. Clare is one of the benefit chairs for this years gala and so I hope that means that we will have a few guest dressed in Givenchy. The brands Spring 2019 Couture collection had several options that could be perfect for this red carpet. I decided to go for something uber chic for Rosamund opting for this Givenchy Spring 2019 Couture black and white striped gown which features sheer construction a feathered short sleeves. A sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Mechante Reine’ spike studded PVC ribbon tied pointed toe sandals, and a pair of Cartier diamond bow drop ear clips would all make sure that this look reads the perfect mix of dominatrix and glam.

The 2019 Met Gala will take place on the first Monday in May: May 6, 2019.

2018 Teen Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

We are almost done with my 2018 Teen Choice Awards wishes. Including today there are just 15 more individual wishes that I have for this years red carpet. The looks and stars that have featured on this list have been extremely varried. The more I look at the looks I’ve picked for stars to wear this year the more I feel like I am really reaching for the stars. I am always about glamour and that is what I went for with my wishes for the Teen Choice Awards. I guess we will know on Sunday night what all the stars have in store for this red carpet. I hope that we see the elevated level of glamour on this red carpet. Chrissy Teigan is nominated for Choice TV Personality and Choice Twit at this years red carpet. She has never been to a teen choice awards before, but I would love to see it happen. The look I’ve picked for Chrissy is definitely not what we are used to seeing on this red carpet, but one that I really do feel like she would own on the red carpet. I love this rust Jonathan Simkhai Fall 2018 RTW midi dress which features a off the shoulder neckline, pleated ruffles, and long lace sleeves and I have since it came down the runway back in February. I definitely think that it is different than what we are used to seeing on this red carpet, but it could very well be a chic yet fun moment for Chrissy. She is currently dressing, and embracing, her post pregnancy body and I think that this dress would give a very sexy moment but compliment her post baby body. I think that the dress is such a statement on its own that I would just pair it with a romantic updo, winged eyes, matching rust lips, and a pair of beige snakeskin Aquazzura ‘Roccia’ studded PVC ankle wrap sandals to really make it perfect for this red carpet. It has been a really long time since we have seen Hailey Baldwin on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet. I wonder if on the heels of her very public engagement to Justin Beiber if the Choice TV Personality and Choice Female Hottie nominee will bring something flirty to this red carpet. Instead of going for something thats your typical flirty dress I decided to go for a really bold moment with this multicolored Versace Fall 2018 RTW ensemble which features a strapless chainmail mesh bustier top, silk twill wrap style skirt with fringe trim, and a black belt with a chunky gold buckle. It is definitely a real statement moment for the red carpet. Many would probably keep this dress on the rack for the MTV Video Music Awards later this month, but I feel like if anyone would bring this dress to the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards that it would be Hailey. I think that if paired with a wavy bob, defined eyes, light pink lips, & a pair of black Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ multicolor crystal embellished PVC strap sandals that this look would be head to toe perfection.Letitia Wright really launched her career to new heights earlier this year with the release of Black Panther which has earned her nominations for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actress and Choice Breakout Movie Star. I feel like while the Teen Choice Awards are kinda out of the 24 year old actresses scene I feel like Letitia is actually really likely to take at least one of those surfboard awards home. I wanted to go for something fun and flirty for Letitia to bring to this red carpet and so I opted to pick this blue and yellow psychedelic print Esteban Cortezar Fall 2018 RTW knit mini dress which features bell cuffs, long sleeves, and a handkerchief hem. The weather might be a little hot for a knit dress, but I think that the style of the dress is perfect for this red carpet. So fashion over function right? I would really try to talk Letitia into wearing this dress even if it might be a little warm for a knit dress. I think that if she did opt to wear this dress on the red carpet that pairing it with a braided updo, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of navy Monique Lhuillier ‘Marlowe’ sandals all would really make this the perfect summery moment for Letitia to rock on this red carpet.Choice Summer TV Star and Choice Female Hottie nominee Olivia Holt will be one of the many presenters on Sunday night at the 2018 Teen Choice Awards. I would have figured that she was going to be there, but it is now confirmed that she will. I cannot say that I have gotten really excited about any of the looks that Olivia has worn on the red carpet in the past, but I feel that as she gets nominated for her performance in Cloak & Dagger that her style might figure itself out. I think that Olivia would make a chic moment on the red carpet this year wearing this black chiffon Georges Hobeika Resort 2019 mini dress which features cape like sleeves, a crystal embellished waist, and a skater style skirt. The dress might not be the light and summery looks that I picked for most to rock on this red carpet, but I think that would be really chic for her. I would want to add a pair of statement shoes and I kept with that darker idea opting for a pair of black and red velvet Fausto Puglisi bow detail pumps to keep the look dark and romantic. A chic updo, defined eyes, and nude lips all would add the perfect finishing touches. We might have the new Kenzo Spring 2019 RTW collection on the runway, but I am still holding out the hope that some of the really chic cocktail dresses that walked the runway back in January at the Kenzo Fall 2018 RTW show will still get a red carpet moment. I have been dreaming about seeing Yara Shahidi wearing this purple Kenzo Fall 2018 RTW asymmetrical sequined cocktail dress since that show in January. I put it in my wishes from this collection and then again I wished for Yara to wear this dress modified into a gown for the Oscar parties. Now I want to see Yara wear the runway version of this dress in a much simpler way than I have wishes for before. I feel like a curly bob, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of metallic purple Saint Laurent ‘Anja’ pointed toe pumps would make this look perfect for the 2018 Teen Choice Awards where she is nominated for Choice Comedy TV Actress and Choice Female Hottie.

The 2018 Teen Choice Awards will take place on Sunday August 12, 2018.
