Fall 2020 Couture Round Up Red Carpet Wish List

Couture this season was VERY different. We saw designers tackle moving presentation digitally in vastly different ways. Dior did a short video editorial and showcased petite mains work on miniatures. Hobeika recorded a show without an audience from his home in Lebanon. Ralph & Russo showed a mix of in person shot lookbook, a digital spokesmodel, and sketches. And most showed smaller paired down collections shot in lookbooks. I would love to see many of these looks on the red carpet so I am hoping that we start seeing red carpets return soon. Two seasons worth of looks are already headed to the archives without being worn. So check out the 61 wishes below I would love to see brought to life on the red carpet from the Fall 2020 Couture collections.

2020 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 30

The looks in today’s set of wishes are major. I always say the answer to picking the perfect Met Gala fashion moment is go big or go home. That is exactly what I did when picking the looks for Aja Naomi King, Naomi Scott, Lucy Liu, and Rowan Blanchard; oh and there is a super chic white tie moment for Henry Golding. Each of these looks is perfectly indicative of each label and all would be superb moments to see on this years red carpet. Aja Naomi King made her Met Gala debut in 2016, but hasn’t been on the red carpet since. Now she is a L’Oreal Paris spokesmodel and I feel like it’s about time she got her second appearance on the famed Met steps. What kills me about Aja on the red carpet is the fact that I know she has so much potential, but rarely lives up to it. For this years Met Gala red carpet I want to see Aja turn to Christopher John Rogers. I really want to see the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner deliver major moments on the Met steps this year. For Aja I would love to see Christopher create a custom gown that is a hybrid of two looks from the Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW collection. Taking the red lamé asymmetrical peplum cocktail dress which features a plunging neckline and layering it over the black and silver crystal embellished column skirt from the strapless column gown. Each look on their own isn’t right for the Met Gala red carpet, but combined I know this look would be superb. A chignon afro puff updo, smokey eyes with a hint of emerald, dark rose pink lips, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong Stardust’ crystal embellished ankle strap sandals, and statement Amrapali emerald and white diamond teardrop pendant earrings would definitely make this a major moment for Aja to wear on the Met Gala red carpet. Henry Golding was introduced to us about 2 year ago now when he stared in the hit film Crazy Rich Asians back to back with the Blake Lively/Anna Kendrick drama A Simple Favor. He made his Met Gala red carpet debut last year taking a risk in custom Atelier Versace. It was a risk that almost paid off. I appreciate that Henry is willing to take some risks with fashion, but for this years Met Gala I decided I wanted to see him bring perfect classic glamour to this red carpet. This classic cut white tie Ralph Lauren Fall 2020 Menswear tailcoat tuxedo is the epitome of timeless elegance for menswear and when fitted perfectly the looks are one to take notice of. I definitely believe that Ralph would make sure this look is perfectly tailored for Henry. Now I would just add a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo Orlatio’ paillette sequin embellished oxfords to add a subtle hint of dazzle to this look. Over the years Lucy Liu has only walked 2 Met Gala red carpets. That honestly surprises me as she is quite the fashionista. While we don’t see Lucy on the red carpets often when she does the looks are always top notch. In fact she has one of my favorite Met Gala red carpet moments ever thanks to the purple ruffled Zac Posen gown she wore in 2007. I would love to see her attend this year as a guest of Christian Siriano. Lucy wore Siriano for the Tony Awards last year and was seated front row at his Spring 2020 RTW show last September. Never one to shy away from drama for the red carpet I thought Lucy would be the perfect person to wear this crocodile skin pattern embroidered velvet ensemble from the Christian Siriano Fall 2020 RTW collection which includes a structured high neck capelet and a strapless corseted ball gown. The look is distinctly Siriano and a modern, edgy twist on the classic ballgown. It really do think that while Lucy is quite petite that she has the presence to make this look come to life on the red carpet. While the matching hat is quite interesting for the runway I would have Lucy ditch it for the red carpet instead opting to style the gown with a sleek side parted updo, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, black glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Renee’ strappy leather sandals, and a pair of statement David Webb ‘Asheville’ earclips made in cabochon turquoise, brilliant-cut diamonds, 18K gold, and platinum. This would definitely make for a statement making moment for Lucy to wear for her Met Gala return. Naomi Scott made her Met Gala debut last year ahead of her major promo tour for Aladdin. She wore a cool Burberry crystal chain and feather embellished tunic and sleek tailored pants. It was definitely one of the cooler looks of the evening, but when there were so many major gowns it faded into the masses. I don’t want that to happen to her this year. So I turned to the illustrious Richard Quinn, who is known for making dramatic moments happen. He dressed Naomi in black latex and blue floral jacquard for the Charlies Angels premiere in London last fall and for this years Met Gala I went back to his Spring 2019 RTW collection to seek inspiration for the perfect gown for Naomi to wear. I would love to see Naomi give us modern flapper vibes wearing a custom gown inspired by this ice blue silk cocktail dress which features silver beaded embroidery and black feather embellishments. Now picture it with me. Taking this dress and lengthening it to hit the floor with the feather embellishments on silk strips made to add a dramatic train to this gown would definitely make sure that Naomi delivers the drama on the red carpet. I would love to see Naomi take this custom gown and go full flapper with it styling the gown with a fingerwave updo, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of black Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Monstera’ crystal embellished leaf sandals, and vintage 1930’s white diamond Bulgari art deco chandelier earrings. Rowan Blanchard has now hit the 18 year age requirement to attend the Met Gala. I have wanted to see the actress own this red carpet for a while. She isn’t afraid to take sartorial risks and I know that she would own this red carpet. I have been imagining her wearing this Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture ‘Grand Flou’ ball gown which features a multicolored “bathing suit” bustier, thin halter straps, and a huge shocking pink skirt in silk faille since it first came down the runway back in January. This gown can only work on a couple of red carpets and the Met Gala is one of those few red carpets where this look would work. While it isn’t really a “timeless” gown by any stretch of the imagination it does speak perfectly to the codes of the House of Schiaparelli. Finishing this look with a sleek retro inspired updo, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of metallic pink Gucci chunky peep toe platform sandals, and white diamond Hueb ‘Luminus’ starburst cluster earrings would definitely make this a major Met Gala debut moment for Rowan.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2020 RTW Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

So in a post Oscar haze it has taken a while to really soak in all of the collections and pick some superb wishes for stars to bring to life. As I pull images from the shows starts always pop through my mind. There were so many great looks that came out of New York Fashion Week this season I decided to break my wishes up into several parts (probably about 3) so the posts didn’t feel super, super long. So many looks in this list will be perfect not only for the red carpet, but also great late night show appearance looks and great street style moments. I don’t even know which of the looks below I love the most.

63 Looks From Spring 2020 Couture I Want To See On The Red Carpet

I started off Paris Haute Couture Spring 2020 Fashion Week with the intention of having a post the next morning of the favorite looks I had seen the day before with who I most want to see wearing those looks. Well life got in the way. Tuesday night I saw Celine Dion and slept as long as I could before heading to work the next day. Wednesday I had to take my mother to a doctors appointment first thing in the morning and lost my little bit of weekday morning blog time. So by then I just decided well day one is already up, but I will just do a round up including all the shows with 1-4 looks from each show being featured in one big round up list. So that is what I did. As I was putting this list together I realized that this is basically a precursor to my 2020 Cannes Film Festival wishes with major looks for L’Orealistas like Sonam Kapoor, Eva Longoria, Araya A. Hargate, Aishwarya Rai, Helen Mirren, and more to bring to life on the red carpet. It can also be a prediction for you all as it comes to what my Oscar party wishes may look like. Overall this season was very good. Aside from my now perennial favorites Givenchy and Valentino there wasn’t really much of a stand out as far as an entire collection, save maybe Armani Prive, but there were a ton of really amazing moments that are just waiting to be seen on a red carpet. I hope you are ready to see more of these looks, see some of these wishes below detailed out, and more on the race to the Oscars, Met Gala, and the Cannes Film Festival. I honestly do not know which wish here is my favorite; what’s yours?

2019 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List

2019 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 13

We are getting close to the final wishes that I have for this years red carpet, but not quite yet. I have this set of six and then one more post headed your way with six more. I just put together the spreadsheet I create every year so that I can keep track of who everyone is wearing on Globes night and I put 116 names on that list, and there are always people that show up that I never would have thought of. I am really praying that we have an absolutely major red carpet tomorrow night. The glamour in my soul tells me that while last years red carpet was historic for its blackout protest, that this year is going to be the most glamorous year in the history of the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Coming off her promo tour for Aquaman, which I really was not a fan of, Amber Heard is going to be one of the nights many presenters tomorrow night. I go up and down with Amber. She does glamour really well when she tries, but she also likes to try and be edgy. That edgy side of her really started when she was dating and married to Johnny Depp. I want the bombshell Amber back on the red carpet and so for tomorrow nights red carpet I chose this teal liquid silk velvet Ralph & Russo Fall 2018 Couture strapless gown which features a structured bodice and draped skirt with thigh-high slit, embellished with an intertwining gold twisted crystal and chain cord. The gown reminds me a lot of the signature Vivienne Westwood Couture corseted bustier gowns, but I think that wouldn’t deter Amber from wearing this creation. In fact I know from Vivienne Westwood looks that she has worn in the past that this gown would look fantastic on her. The styling needs to be kept very femme fatale adding a sleek vintage inspired updo, winged eyes, bold red lips, a pair of gold Nicolas Kirkwood ‘Mira Pearl’ sandals, and Buccellati ‘Étoilée’ 18k gold and diamond pendant earrings to really ensure that this moment is  absolutely perfect for Amber. Anne Hathaway has a movie, Serenity, coming out later this month so it comes as no surprise to me that she has been asked to come back to the Golden Globe Award this year as one of the nights many presenters. This will be her sixth time attending the Golden Globe Awards and of those previous five appearances two have been in Armani Prive. So I decided to turn back to the label for the perfect gown for Anne to wear on this years red carpet. She really let me down style wise last year and I am hoping that 2019 will hold much better moments. I picked this black and gold Armani Prive Fall 2018 Couture strapless gown which features a gold fully embellished corset bodice, a tiered gold tulle underskirt, velvet waist detail and a black glitter tulle overlaid skirt because of how glamorous it is, but I would want to see the look customized for Anne removing the black velvet waist and the tulle overlay. I honestly feel like those details I want removed just make this look look cheap, so giving Anne that all gold princess moment I really think would put her back in my good graces. I would keep black in the look adding a black and gold Judith Leiber ‘Jazz Age’ art deco crystal embellished resin box clutch, a pair of black Manolo Blahnik ‘Nabasa’ crystal sunburst buckle sandals and Cartier diamond and onyx drop earrings. Old Hollywood waves, defined smokey eyes, and bold red lips would all ensure that this look really does restore my love of Anne’s style. Last year Halle Berry really let me down wearing a totally event inappropriate Zuhair Murad black lace mini dress. The dress code for the Golden Globe Awards is formal. That means that tea length is the shortest one should wear on the red carpet. I want to see her redeem herself, but still stay true to her fountain of youth inspired style. So with that in mind I decided I wanted to see Halle wearing this rose gold Atelier Versace Fall 2018 Couture column gown which features intricate beaded embroidery, thigh high split, thin straps, a corseted bodice, and a plunging sweetheart neckline. I definitely think that Halle would be drawn to the inherent sex appeal in this gown and hopefully would be able to deliver it on this red carpet without looking dated. It could come across as a dated 90’s moment, and I am hoping that isn’t what happens. Sleek side parted hair, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of rose gold Jimmy Choo ‘Helen’ strappy sandals, and a pair of Bulgari high jewelry earrings rendered in yellow gold with pink coral beads, sapphires and brilliant-cut diamonds all would add really chic touches to ensure this look is perfection from head to toe. The last time Janelle Monae was on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards was back in 2017 and she brought the fun factor to the red carpet wearing a high low bubble hem Armani Prive gown. She is one of the many presenters who are confirmed to attend tomorrow nights ceremony. She tends to stick to her back and white box and while on most I would get board with looks always in that color story, but the fact that Janelle brings major moments on the red carpet. She loves herself a Jean Paul Gaultier look for the red carpet and so for her look for tomorrow night I dug deep into the brands archives to find the perfect moment for her to wear. I found this black Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2006 Couture long sleeve sequin gown which features a high turtleneck, fitted bodice, and an a-line skirt and it just screamed Janelle to me. Is the gown itself a boundary pushing moment? No. But with a big braided bun on the front of her head, thick winged eyes, red lips, a black and white Rafe’ ‘Kiki Zebra’ shell minaudiere clutch, black Fendi faux pearl embellished sandals, and Mikimoto diamond and pearl fringe cluster earrings I know that it would be a really chic moment for Janelle to bring to life on this red carpet. I always get excited when I see that Julianne Moore is going to be on a red carpet. So when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association tweeted out that she was going to be among tomorrow nights presenters I got really excited. I immediately went to Givenchy for the perfect gown for Julianne to wear on this red carpet. I fell in love with the idea of Julianne wearing this black and grey Givenchy Fall 2018 Couture one shoulder gown which features an asymmetrical black velvet bodice, a single short sleeve, silver metal belted waist, and an a-line silver sequin and feather embellished skirt. I wondered for about 32 seconds if it was too similar to the Givenchy Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown that Julianne on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet back in 2015 ahead of her Best Actress win for Still Alice, but while they look they could have been in the same collection that each one is still very different and how I think Julianne would wear this gown is different than how she wore the one in 2015. I would have Julianne style this modern glam with a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Aquazzura ‘Nathalie’ sandals, and Chopard high jewelry including a diamond and emerald chandelier earrings and a statement emerald cocktail ring to really make this look come to life on tomorrow’s red carpet. Lucy Liu hasn’t been to the Golden Globe Awards since 2013 when she shut the red carpet down wearing a statement floral Carolina Herrera ball gown. I love me some Lucy but she has been really MIA in the last few years. When it comes to major red carpets Lucy loves a big dramatic gown and that is exactly what I found for her to wear tomorrow night. I initially had a Ralph & Russo Couture gown on this list for Lucy, but when I saw this acid green Christian Siriano Spring 2019 RTW tiered tulle gown which features micro pleating throughout with a fitted waistline, cutout sides, full A-line skirt, and a dramatic train in my archive and I started wondering who could wear it for tomorrows red carpet. I kinda figured that following seeing this gown, and falling in love with it, come down the runway during New York Fashion Week I figured this gown was going to be reserved for awards season and honestly the Golden Globe Awards is the only red carpet where this much drama is okay. Well the Oscars are too, but that comes after the new collection comes out. So when I was looking at who all was left saw the Lucy was the only person in the ranks that I think is ballsy enough to make this gown work. The silhouette alone is tough, but that color makes this a difficult too to carry. I think though that Lucy has what it takes to really make this look come to life. The last time we saw her on a red carpet, last June, Lucy had blonde hair. I would like to see her back with her black hair if she is wearing this dress because I think that the darker color would allow for her not to be dominated by the color of this gown. Style that hair in a sleek low bun adding smokey eyes, soft pink lips, a gold Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ cutout star pattern metal clutch, a pair of gold Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ metallic leather pointed toe pumps, and statement Cartier high jewelry earrings made up of opals, tsavorites, tanzanites, and diamonds and this would be an absolutely triumphant return to the red carpet for Lucy.

The 2019 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 6, 2019.

2018 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 11

After my quick break to make wishes for the BAFTA Awards and the Costume Designers Guild Awards I am officially back on my Oscars night wishes. Including this list there are 9 more sets of wishes for this years Oscar parties and I am really excited to see what will be come March 4th. I think that the glamour that Oscar night brings to minds puts the pressure on all the stars of film, music, fashion, sports, and more to really bring it to the red carpet. Supermodel Chanel Iman is always one of my favorites to see on the red carpet and I am praying that we will see her deliver something dramatic and glamorous on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. She almost always wears Zuhair Murad Couture (shes worn looks from the brand in 2014, 2015, and 2017) but this year I decided to switch things up. I think that Chanel would be the perfect person to deliver this peony pink and hibiscus red Prabal Gurung Spring 2018 RTW ‘Charlotte’ gown which features a twisted halter neckline, cut outs at the bodice, a sheer skirt, and a dramatic split. I am afraid that stars will leave this gown in the Prabal archive after Michelle Monaghan wore a similar gown from the same collection to the 2017 New York City Ballet Fall Gala. I feel like Chanel would be the perfect person to rock on the red carpet for the Vanity Fair party red carpet. I feel like if Chanel paired this gown with a pair of fuxia pink SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker ‘Elektra’ suede crystal heel sandals, a sleek romantic updo, smokey eyes, pink lips, and a selection of jewels from IVY New York including pink spinel wind chime earrings and a red spinel ruby and diamond bracelet to really ensure this look is beautiful glamour head to toe. Hailee Steinfeld has given some really dramatic moments on the Vanity Fair party red carpet wearing designs by Ralph & Russo and Andrew Gn in the past. I would love to see Hailee back on the red carpet again this year giving a really major lewk. This strapless white Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture mermaid gown which features a seamed corset bodice would make for that exact moment that I am hoping for her. What could be a detractor is the fact that Hailee just wore a strapless white gown by Alexandre Vauthier for the Grammy Awards. Aside from the fact that they are both white gowns there really isn’t any more that compare the two. I want to see Hailee give us glamour on the red carpet wearing this gown with a pair of rose gold pink Christian Louboutin ‘Choca’ metallic sandals, a sleek high pony, defied eyes, hot pink lips, and David Morris natural pink conch pearl & rose-cut diamond chandelier earrings. It has been 11 years since we last saw Lucy Liu on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar party where she wore a really chic Zac Posen gown. I love a good Lucy Liu moment on the red carpet. She knows how to deliver glamour on the red carpet and I would love to see her give a really major moment on the magazines red carpet. This black Christian Siriano Spring 2018 RTW strapless ballgown which features a high low hem and a dramatic hot pink and lime green bow turned train on the back is something that I totally think that Lucy would definitely be able to turn this gown, which is now last seasons runway, into a really fun party moment on the Vanity Fair Oscar party red carpet. I would want to see Lucy style this gown with black Gianvito Rossi lamb leather ankle strap sandals, a sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of statement Bulgari rose gold earrings with peridots, pink spinels, white garnets, and mother of pearl chandelier earrings all would really ensure that she has a glorious return to the Vanity Fair red carpet. Pom Klementiff is a beauty that I am obsessed with. Her love her mixed features that have you question just exactly who and what she is. She mixes Korean, French, and Russian features and she just serves angles on every red carpet that she is on. If she does step out on Oscar night it would be her first Oscar night red carpet and I definitely think that she would kill the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party wearing this shocking pink Lanvin Pre-Fall 2018 strapless gown which features an a-line silhouette, banding detail, and allover pleating. The shape is very simple, but the color makes it such a statement moment that I know it would pop against Pom’s alabaster skin. She is beautiful and I know that she would command the red carpet in this gown, especially if she styles it with a hot pink Edie Parker jean clutch, sleek center parted hair tucked behind the ears, hot pink Tom Ford crystal embellished PVC slingback pumps, a defined eye, matte rose pink lips, and a pair of art deco Fred Leighton diamond chandelier earrings.Vanessa Hudgens is usually on at lease one Oscar night red carpet, but I cannot say that she has ever been one of the stars who has delivered anything all that memorable on an Oscar party red carpet. Recently she has been having a lot more fun with fashion delivering great moments so I am really excited to see what she will do on Oscar night this year. Sometimes shes on the red carpet at the Elton John party and sometimes she’s on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party, so I decided to pick two looks for her to rock on the red carpet at each of those parties. For Elton John I went for a really bold style moment with this fabulous vintage 1980s Emanuel Ungaro fuchsia silk wrap evening gown which features a black velvet contour fitted hip band, dramatic emerald green draped floor length bow at side, v-neck, slight dolman long sleeves, 4 glass buttons on the cuffs, and shoulder pads. It is a very 80’s moment but it also is a look that I feel like we have seen come down a lot of the runways recently. I know that if someone grabbed this gown off the rack and rocked it on the red carpet that they would have a big moment. I loved the short cropped bob that Vanessa debuted recently and I feel like it would compliment this dress perfectly. I would love to see her style the gown with an aqua to turquoise Rafe ‘Sofia’ straw ombré straw minaudiere, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ goosebump napa sandals, a defined eye, bright pink lips, and a pair of Cathy Carmendy ‘Moulin’ diamond chandelier earrings to really make sure this is a look that pops on the red carpet. For the Vanity Fair party red carpet I went to something much more classically glamorous with this silver Naeem Khan Spring 2018 RTW column gown which features a single shoulder strap, fluid beaded embroidery, and a floor length hem. In comparison to the Ungaro this is a really simple gown, but I know it can be just as visually impactful. I would love to see her keep the sleek bob, defined eyes, red lips, a silver Judith Leiber Couture ‘New Goddess’ crystal clutch, a pair of dark grey Gianvito Rossi pleated satin sandals with a crystal embellished buckle, and a pair of Beladora diamond chandelier earrings to make sure that Vanessa has two absolutely beautiful looks on Oscar night red carpet.

Oscar Night 2018 is Sunday March 4, 2018.

2016 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

We are officially on the countdown to the 2016 Tony Awards which are set to take place at the Beacon Theater tomorrow night. A whole host of glamorous women are set to take to the red carpet. I have already posted most of my Tony Awards wish lists, today being the final round. The always gorgeous Claire Danes has been slated to be one of the presenters at the Tony’s tomorrow night and when I saw that I got very excited. Claire has been making great fashion choices recently and I am praying that continues through tomorrow night. I would die of Claire took to the Tony red carpet wearing this Armani Prive Spring 2016 RTW strapless gown which features a black sequined bustier and a full mauve skirt with a hand painted detailing overlaid with black tulle and sequined stripes. I am really shocked that not more of the Armani Prive Spring 2016 Couture collection hasn’t been worn thus far. I would remove the wide black belt that this gown was paired with on the runway. I think that while on some it would make this look edgier, that on Claire I would want this gown to be more elegant than edgy. Pairing this look with a chic updo, smokey eye, diamond drop earrings, light pink lip, and a pair of black sandals would really ensure that Claire shuts the Tony Awards red carpet down with this look. diane-lane-2016-tony-awards-wish-list (1)I either absolutely adore what Diane Lane wears on the red carpet or she fades into the background. I am hoping that tomorrow night at the 2016 Tony Awards, where Diane is a presenter, that she will give me something that I adore. I believe that this gold Marchesa Pre-Fall 2016 bustier column gown which is covered in black beaded tulle lace with a scalloped square neckline, a fitted bodice, and tiered ruffles along the skirt would be absolutely jaw-droppingly glamorous. I can’t remember a red carpet moment from Diane in the past that was a real femme fatale moment and I think that this would be that type of moment. I would go with that 40’s style with a vintage inspired updo, a black Marchesa ‘Iris’ stingray clutch, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Lace’ pumps, a red lip, and yellow gold set diamond cluster earrings to really embrace the femme fatale glamour of this look.lucy-liu-2016-tony-awards-wish-list (1)I have to say that I got excited when I saw that Lucy Liu is going to be one of the presenters at the Tony Awards tomorrow night. Her last two Tony Awards looks were absolutely amazing with pink Marchesa in 2010 and black and ivory Vivienne Westwood Couture in 2014. I am hoping that she lives up to, and maybe, exceeds my expectations this year. While I would love to see Lucy bring couture to the red carpet I went with something something a little more dramatic from the Resort 2017 collections with this print on print Monse draped black and white gown. I Think that Lucy would take this gown and make it work on the red carpet with such ease. I know it is a bit daring for the Tony Awards, but why not? I always say go big or home. Keeping the monochromatic glamour of the look going with a black acrylic Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of black satin Jimmy Choo ‘Pearl’ platform sandals, red lip, a diamond drop earrings, and a dazzling diamond cuff bracelet to finish this look perfectly.   sara-bareilles-2016-tony-awards-wish-list (1)And last but not least I have a wish for singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, who is not only nominated for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre but will also be performing with the cast of her Best Musical nominated show Waitress. I can hear Sara’s style of music in the soundtrack of Waitress and I am very excited to see what she is going to bring to the Tony Awards tomorrow night. I would love to see Sara have a princess moment on the Tony red carpet wearing this black Georges Hobeika Fall 2016 RTW tulle ballgown which features a plunging neckline and multicolored floral embroidery. I think that this classically girly gown would be perfect for the Tony Awards red carpet. Finishing with a pair of black pumps, chic updo, and a pink lip would deliver Sara with a gorgeous red carpet moment on her big nominated night.

2016 White House Correspondents Dinner Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

michelle-obama-2016-white-house-correspondents-dinner-wish-list (1)I’m at the point where I am going to be posting my last wishes for First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. Come January I will be very sad because it doesn’t matter who wins the 2016 presidential election I won’t have the fashion factor that Michelle has brought to the White House. I hope that Michelle really brings the fashion factor as the attends her final big events as the First Lady. For the White House Correspondents Dinner the President and First Lady are ushered in a back door at the Washington Hilton and are only seen from the waist up. With that in mind I try to pick gowns that have a lot of visual detail on the top half. I picked this absolutely gorgeous Naeem Khan Spring 2016 RTW strapless gown which features a modified a-line silhouette with allover threadwork embroidery in a floral motif. The multicolored floral embroidery would really give Michelle that visual impact, allowing her to have a best dressed worthy look even though we may only see it from the waist up. Michelle could show up wearing a pair of Nike sneakers under her gown and we would never know, though I wouldn’t imagine her doing that. A pair of drop earrings, black pumps, a pink lip, & curly bob would be what I would see Michelle styling this look with. emily-ratajkowski-2016-white-house-correspondents-dinner-wish-list (1)Emily Ratajkowski delivers cool, sexy looks on the red carpet and I am intrigued to see what she will bring to the red carpet tomorrow night at the Washington Hilton for the White House Correspondents Dinner. I expect that Emily will radiate effortless sensuality for the red carpet int he most glamorous way. I almost want to see Emily wearing a custom gown from someone like Alexander Wang or Altuzarra, but nothing from the runways screamed Emily to me when I was looking through the collections for a perfect look for her. I did however see this peachy, gold Edun Fall 2016 RTW one shoulder draped gown which features velvet runes laid all over. I think that this gown is that relaxed sexy that Emily knows how to work on the red carpet so well. Sexy waves, smokey eyes, a gold box clutch, and gold sandals would leave Emily just oozing sensual glamour on the WHCD red carpet.jada-pinkett-smith-2016-white-house-correspondents-dinner-wish-listThe White House Correspondents Dinner will be the first time that we will see Jada Pinkett Smith take to a red carpet since she skipped the 2016 Academy Awards in boycott of the lack of diversity. I am usually a fan of what Jada wears on the red carpet since she usually delivers very glamorous red carpet looks. On the WHCD dinner red carpet we don’t usually see a whole lot of non-US based designers, but I decided to go there with Jada. I usually love Jada in Atelier Versace and this mauve draped, cutout gown from the Fall 2015 Couture collection is something that I have been really wanting to see on the red carpet, so I am praying that someone will give it a red carpet moment. I think that Jada would look uber glamorous in this creation as it glides down the red carpet. Finish with a chic updo, a light kohl rimmed eye, dyed to match Versace clutch, & a pair of gold sandals to finish this look perfectly for Jada. karlie-kloss-2016-white-house-correspondents-dinner-wish-list (1)Karlie Kloss has been up and down with her red carpet looks. Not usually one to show up on the red carpet wearing big, dramatic gowns I tend to love Karlie’s minimalistic red carpet looks. I would really love to see the model take to the red carpet tomorrow wearing this deep purple Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2016 RTW double charmuse draped gown which features a sheath silhouette and an asymmetrical draped neckline. This draped slip style gown is something that I can see Karlie chopping a train off of but I think the drama that the train brings is something that is needed. Rounding out with a dark grey clutch, grey Jimmy Choo sandals, chic waves, and a red lip would ensure that Karlie brings some gorgeous model-istic glamour to the WHCD red carpet. lucy-liu-2016-white-house-correspondents-dinner-wish-list (1)Lucy Liu is rumored to be attending the the White House Correspondents Dinner tomorrow night but I don’t know which news outlet has given her a coveted seat the the event. I hope that she will be on the red carpet as she almost always delivers gives me the most amazing red carpet moments. It is because of her red carpet repertoire that I decided to allow Lucy to wear this gorgeous gold Marchesa Pre-Fall 2016 gown rendered in lace and features a column silhouette with a scalloped v-neckline and bugle beaded fringe detailing. This is one of my favorite gowns from all of Pre-Fall 2016 and I am patiently awaiting the moment that one of the ladies I hold in high regard will give this a major moment. I am hoping that time comes soon as the next season (Resort 2017) is just around the corner. I would keep the gold, laser cut metal clutch the at the gown was paired with in the lookbook and add a pair of gold sandals, chic updo, and a smoky eye to really drive home this red carpet moment with epic potentail.
