The SAG Awards broadcast is this weekend. I say broadcast because I am sure that the Screen Actors Guild has already started bringing their presenters and nominees together to record their sections as this years show will be pre-recorded and broadcast with a 1 hour television special. I am not sure how they are going to condense the whole show into just one hour, but I am sure there will be a way for them to do it. I’ve been ruminating on my wishes for this event for a while. It actually put me in a bit of a funk. I was originally going to start these as soon as I was done with my Grammy’s wishes, but because of the circumstances I just wasn’t feeling inspired. In fact until this past weekend when I finally finished putting the wishes together I was still uninspired. I will not be detailing out everyone. I have just decided that I don’t have that in me right now, but I have a couple days of detailed wishes that will culminate in a big round up style post for everyone else. I picked the stars featured in my detailed wishes based on who I was able to easily pick a look for and who I know has been turning out looks during our virtual awards season. 
Kicking things off is Amy Adams whom earned a surprise nomination this awards season for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Movie thanks to her role as Beverly “Bev” Vance in Hillbilly Elegy. I’ve always loved Amy and her style, but in more recent years her looks have missed the mark for me. We haven’t seen her show a fashion look since Emmy night 2019 where she wore a hideous Fendi Couture gown. I want to see her give us GLAMOUR this weekend for the SAG Awards and I know it would be a perfect moment to see her wearing this black Oscar de la Renta Fall 2021 RTW crystal embroidered halter neck column gown which features a draped bodice and keyhole bodice cutout. It is classically glamorous and I think that it would be a great moment for Amy to bring to life for the SAG Awards. I would then take this classic gown and style it with a sleek retro glam updo, thick defined soft smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black satin Tom Form ‘TF 105’ slingback pointed toe pumps, and a selection of Cartier jewels including intricate vintage white diamond chandelier earrings and a statement ‘L’Odyssée de Cartier’ white diamond cuff bracelet to really make this look scream glamour from head to toe. 
Over the course of this major winning awards season Catherine O’Hara has given more understand glam looks with a custom Vera Wang suit at the Golden Globes and a black Elie Saab ruffled cocktail dress for the Critics Choice Awards. For this weekends SAG Awards I would really love to see Catherine finish out the awards run for Schitt’s Creek giving us a bit of razzle dazzle wearing this black, gold, and white art deco inspired Elie Saab Spring 2018 Couture long sleeve column gown. I am SHOCKED that no one has worn this gown yet. I would have figured Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Nadine Labaki, or Jane Fonda would have fought over this dress. Three years later we are still waiting to see it have a red carpet moment. I feel like it is totally in tune with Catherine’s chic and sophisticated sense of style and it would make sure that she sends Schitt’s Creek off in HIGH glam style. I feel like her soft wave center parted and worn down, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black satin Roger Vivier gold metal crystal buckle platform chunky heel strappy sandals, and simple elegant IVY New York red spinel and white diamond drop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. 
Emma Corrin has been serving LEWKS this awards season. She collected her Golden Globe wearing custom clown inspired Miu Miu and then went for bold 80’s inspired style with a Schiaparelli mini dress for the Critics Choice Awards. Her style has been top notch and I am sad her tenure with the cast of The Crown is coming to an end. After her wins this year I would say that her portrayal of Princess Diana has her as the favorite to take home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series trophy this year. I went for edgy glam with this silver and black Armani Prive Spring 2021 Couture sleeveless tea length gown with a halter neck vest and a spaghetti strap slip dress for Emma. Now I would ditch the belt from the runway and style this dress with her edgy cropped hairstyle, navy blue glitter Pat McGrath Labs ‘Dark Star’ smokey eyes, soft pink lips, strappy black Awge x Amina Muaddi ‘Isd Gladi’ thigh high crystal embellished sandals, and a selection of Messika jewels including asymmetrical white diamond wing cluster earrings and a white diamond fringe cuff bracelet to make sure this look is in line with Emma’s bold edgy glam style.
Helen Mirren is one of the announced presenters for this weekend’s show. I have always loved seeing Helen on a red carpet and I cannot wait to see what look she will turn. She isn’t afraid of giving bold glamour on a red carpet and as I am working planning out the rest of awards season and headed into events like Cannes I cannot wait for Helen to serve more and more looks again. I was saving images from the Fall 2021 RTW collections when I saw this hot pink Tony Ward long sleeve a-line gown which features intricate beading on the bodice and sleeves, a jagged drop waist, and a tulle skirt. I immediately thought of Helen when I saw this gown and when I saw she was presenting at the SAG Awards I immediately thought of this gown. It’s such a bold statement moment and I know that Helen would be able to sell it to me easily especially with a sophisticated side parted hairstyle, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of hot pink Alexandre Vauthier crystal toe cap PVC sling back pointed toe pumps, and a bit more sparkle via white diamond Chopard ‘Precious’ collection white diamond cluster earrings. 
Finishing out today is Vanessa Kirby who has given some simple yet very chic looks this awards season wearing a simple black Gucci halter gown for the Globes and a red lace Saint Laurent gown for the Critics Choice Awards. I have definitely been paying attention to Vanessa and I am praying that she brings major looks to her final stops on the awards season circuit. She knows how to do major tailoring moments so I knew pretty immediately that I wanted to do this black and white Alexander McQueen Resort 2021 RTW tuxedo inspired ensemble for her to rock for the SAG Awards. I love this look which consists of a classic white button down shirt and a pair of black high waisted slim fit trousers with a major bow peplum detail. It is simple, sophisticated, and classic but in a way that SCREAMS drama. I mean can a look be classic and statement making at the same time? Because I definitely think that this look is exactly that. While Vanessa has a very no muss no fuss sense of style I think that the bow detail is within her wheelhouse. I think a sleek down hairstyle tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black crystal embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Loubiloo Bling Bang’ twist strap ankle strap sandals, and Bulgari ‘Barroko’ collection white diamond and ruby bunting cluster drop earrings would ensure this look fit’s in perfectly with Vanessa’s red carpet vibe.

As I said yesterday I feel like First Lady Dr. Jill Biden is secretly a real fashion girl and I cannot wait to see what she will be wearing for her FLOTUS duties over the next four years. I would have loved to see Dr. Biden step out onto the stage with President Biden wearing this black Carolina Herrera Spring 2021 RTW stretch fluid crepe trumpet gown which features a sleeveless fitted bodice detailed with bows and a dramatic hem. It is a super glamorous moment and I definitely believe that Dr. Biden would look phenomenal. For the Vice President Kamala Harris I wanted to play to a couple of different sensibilities. When it comes to dressing Kamala is very matronly for sure. There are people out there that prove that you can be modest and dress “age appropriate” and still embrace the fashion factor. I wanted to play to Kamala’s heritage paying homage to her black and Indian roots with her inaugural ball ensemble. So I turned to a black designer to create the gown which is this bold violet purple silk Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW collection draped long sleeve gown which features a dramatic sash cape. The sash cape gave me a bit of sari vibe and I just feel like this color on Kamala would be amazing. Now where this look would really come together is in the styling. Pete Buttigieg is Joe Biden’s nominee to be the next Secretary of Transportation and I personally love him. So I felt like I had to include him and his husband Chasten in my wishes for what the inaugural ball could have been. While they might be gay neither Pete nor Chasten are what I would consider to be ‘flashy.’ So I wanted to pick two very chic complimentary looks for them to wear had they attended the inaugural ball. For Chasten I went with something a little left of normal picking a Ralph Lauren tuxedo with a deep purple velvet tuxedo jacket. It isn’t something normal, but I feel like Washington needs some fun infused into their stuffy style. It would stand out in a room full of men in classic black and white penguin suits, but the cut and styling would be kept very classic so I definitely think it would be a perfect look, especially as the plus one of a Cabinet Secretary designate. Now for Pete I went with something a little more classic with a black Ralph Lauren tuxedo that has a cropped jacket inspired by the cut of a tailcoat, without the tails. The look keeps the classic tail coat styling of the low cut waistcoat and the onyx shirt studs. It is a little more military-esque but I feel like it would be a really chic moment for Pete. 
I cannot remember ever seeing a former First Lady attend the inaugural ball of a new president, but given the fact that I adore seeing Michelle Obama in a gown I knew I had to include her in my dream guest list for an inaugural ball. I always loved seeing what gowns she would bring to life and I went through several options for her to wear for this event. She will also participate in a prime time inauguration concert special the night of the inauguration, so it would have come as a real surprise to not see her at one of the inaugural balls had this been a normal year. I haven’t loved a look that Eva has worn in a really long time and I would have wanted to see that dramatic diva side of her style on display had she stepped out for a ball. She will deliver the Keynote speech on Wednesday to officially accept the nomination for Vice President. I’ve followed Kamala for a while now, but not because of her fashion. So when the announcement came down I did a bit of a dive into what she’s worn for events and as a senator in the Capital to shape what I would love to see her wear. She loves a pantsuit so of course for the speech to accept the nomination I found an amazing pantsuit for Kamala. Fashion isn’t what I associate with Dr. Jill Biden. She isn’t a high fashion political spouse, but she always gives us very chic and elegant looks for both more casual and more formal events. I would love to see Dr. Biden wearing two super chic looks for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. For her speech tomorrow night as the potential next First Lady I knew immediately who I would love to see dress Dr. Biden. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is going to be speaking tomorrow night as well. She has become a huge star since upsetting her district’s long held congressman. She gives major style moments. What I love about her is that she does stay accessible with her fashion. “Get used to me slaying lewks because I am an excellent thrift shopper” AOC has said. When I was looking for the perfect look for her to wear on the stage, wherever it may be, to deliver her DNC speech I knew it had to be accessible. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will take the virtual stage for the DNC tonight. I always love seeing Michelle because she LOVES to play with fashion. In addition to all of the political leaders speaking at the convention the DNC will also have a line up of musical acts that rivals what the VMA’s have already announced. Queer icon and Broadway star Billy Porter is among those who have been announced to perform at this years Democratic Convention. I always love seeing Billy as he serves a look no matter if hes walking a red carpet or joining an interview via Zoom. While I went pretty conservative with the looks I picked for the speakers I’ve picked some real FASHION moments for the performers starting with this major yee-haw meets glam grunge red, white, and blue Marc Jacobs Spring 2016 RTW ensemble for Billy Porter. Billy recently covered Buffalo Springfield’s 1967 protest anthem “For What It’s Worth.” I’m betting that he will be joining Stephen Stills who originally wrote and sang that protest anthem. It would be a great moment. I feel like this now archive fashion moment I would love to see Billy pull it out of the archive and bring it to life. 
Common & John Legend are also going to be performing at the 202 DNC. Now it isn’t confirmed that they are going to perform together, but I would imagine that they will be performing their Oscar and Grammy Award winning song “Glory” from Selma. I decided not to include John this time because of sheer time cuts (I also wasn’t able to include Billie Eilish, Prince Royce, The Chicks, and more it really will be a star studded event) but I wanted to include Common. I’ve always loved seeing she sharp dressed rapper on the red carpet. I love that he isn’t afraid of color or pattern. I gave him that for my wish thanks to this Dzojchen blue and white basket weave single breasted suit with matching shirt. It is a statement suit for sure and I definitely can picture it being something Common would be drawn to. Style it with a pair of 
Vocal powerhouse Jennifer Hudson will also will be performing and I honestly wish I could pick one song to zero in on. She could give us Aretha Franklin performing some of the Queen of Soul’s protest anthems like “Respect,” “A Change Is Gonna Come,” or “People Get Ready” or she could perform her Oscar nominated song “I’ll Fight” from the documentary “RBG.” I’m leaning towards her performing Aretha since she does have the movie where she stars as the late Soul icon. I picked my look for her with Aretha in mind. I LOVE this ice blue sequin Prabal Gurung Resort 2020 one shoulder ruffle gown which features ostrich feather trim and a hip high split. I can say I’m not exactly sure what Maggie Rogers will be performing at the 2020 Democratic Convention. She is one of the few who I’ve actually seen on the official schedule. She will perform tonight before speeches by Senator Bernie Sanders and former First Lady Michelle Obama. With her voice she could perform patriotic standards like “This Land Is Your Land” or “America The Beautiful.” While I don’t know what she will be performing I know I would love to see her rock her performance wearing this Carolina Herrera Fall 2020 RTW ensemble which features a rounded sleeve with ribbon tied cuffs electric blue tunic with a black rose pattern embroidered it paired with periwinkle blue straight leg pants. It is a meshing of oversized, femininity, and tailoring and I feel that is something that Maggie is drawn to in her looks. Styling it with a loose updo, barely there makeup, and
