2018 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

As I have been a lot lately I am running behind so I am going to just get right into these wishes.Earlier this year I had no idea who Betty Gilpin was, but I have slowly started to learn who she is and what her style is. She has rocked looks from Roland Mouret, Alex Perry, and Zac Posen on major red carpets over the last nine months and since she is nominated for her very FIRST Emmy Award for her performance in GLOW I wanted to make sure she made her first appearance on one of my wish lists. I decided to go for a real dramatic and glamorous moment for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nominee and when it comes to dramatic and glamorous moments on the Emmy Awards I’m not sure if anyone has had as many as Zac Posen, so since Betty wore a suit from his line at the MTV Movie & TV Awards earlier this year I thought picking this navy Zac Posen Resort 2019 tulle gown which features a plunging neckline, ruched bodice, and a flared mermaid skirt would be the perfect moment for Betty to rock on the Emmy Awards red carpet. She is one of the two main contenders in the category so I want Betty to be on top form just in case she adds a shiny gold trophy as an accessory during the show. Aside from the Emmy I would style this gown with a pair of multi tone blue Aquazzura ‘Very Holli’ strappy sandals, a sleek updo, smokey eyes, red lips, and a pair of Harry Winston diamond and sapphire cluster earrings to really make this that dramatic and glamorous moment I want from Betty on her first Emmy’s red carpet. Ellie Kemper may not be nominated for an Emmy this year for her performance in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but it would surprise me if she isn’t on the red carpet support her show which is nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. Ellie loves bold colors and prints on the red carpet, even for really formal occasions, so I wanted to keep that alive with the gown I want to see her wearing for the Emmy’s this year. I love this white Sachin + Babi Spring 2019 RTW strapless column gown which features rainbow beaded horizontal stripes and I definitely think that is something right up Ellie’s ally. In fact I had originally picked something else for her to wear for this years Emmy’s but when I saw this lookbook pop up with the new collections from New York Fashion Week I knew that I had to change it up because this is just too perfect. I think that this gown would be perfectly styled for the Emmy’s red carpet with a wavy bob hairstyle, defined eyes, red lips, a yellow velvet Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ clutch, gold Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Sophie’ sandals, and 18k gold set diamond flower earrings from Beladora. Will Keri Russell upset last years winner Elisabeth Moss to take home the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series trophy on Monday? Anything is possible. The members of the Television Academy have been known to award shows and casts in their final season, especially if they won in the beginning, and I feel like with this past season of The Americans being its last that we could see Keri take home that golden trophy on Monday. I want to see her in high style whether she wins or not. She isn’t really my favorite person to see on a red carpet, but when I was picking looks for this red carpet and I saw this black Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture tuxedo which features an beaded sheer lace peplum tuxedo jacket with attached train and a pair of skinny black ankle length pants I thought it would be a really chic moment for Keri to rock on this red carpet. She doesn’t push the boundaries and while this tuxedo pushes her boundaries a little I think that it still falls inside her comfort zone. A sleek low bun, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Multidita’ strappy lace pumps, a black Judith Leiber Couture coffered rectangle clutch bag, and Harry Kotlar ‘The Vault’ diamond and emerald drop earrings all would make a really chic moment for Keri to bring to this red carpet.Millie Bobby Brown might be the face of Moncler’s Fall 2018 ad campaign, but it doesn’t seem to be affecting her relationship with Calvin Klein, and if her sitting front row at the Calvin Klein Spring 2019 show during New York Fashion Week a few days ago says anything I would bet that we will see her wearing a custom gown from the brand on the red carpet at the Emmy’s on Monday. I love Millie. She is dramatic, glamorous, and age appropriate and I want to see her really have another chic moment on the red carpet on Monday. Last year she rocked a tulle tea length princess gown by Calvin and this year I went for her first floor length red carpet moment with this custom black Calvin Klein by Appointment which features ruffled cap sleeves and a full skirt. This gown takes the shapes as presented in the brands Fall 2018 RTW collection and make them chic and glamorous for the red carpet. Millie hasn’t had a floor length gown moment since she burst onto the scene just over a year ago and what better place for that to happen than the red carpet at the Emmy Awards? I think that the volume of this gown would need sleek styling to make sure that it is perfectly complimented so I would have Millie pair this gown with a sleek low bun, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pair of black Calvin Klein ‘Camelle’ asymmetrical crystal embellished sandals, and a single Messika ‘Solena Maya Mono’ diamond fringe ear cuff to really ensure this look is perfection. Sara Bareilles is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie and while she was fantastic in Jesus Christ Superstar! Live I don’t think that she is going to be the one who is going to take the trophy home. I do however still want to see her give a chic and glamorous moment on the Emmy Awards red carpet on Monday. I went round and round about what to pick for Sara and wasn’t really thrilled with anything, but I saw this burgundy and gold Pamella Roland Resort 2019 crepe gown which features a sheath silhouette with a sequin bodice and floral embroidery and thought it would be a really glamorous moment for her to wear on this red carpet. I think that the modesty panel at the slight v on the neckline would either have to be removed or really match Sara’s skin tone to not be a point of contention, but I know that the team who handle the VIP PR for Pamella Roland would make sure that isn’t an issue and aside from that add old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, burgundy Casadei crossover strap sandals, and a pair of IVY New York rhodolite, spinel, and diamond drop earrings and this will be a very chic and flirty moment for Sara. Tracee Ellis Ross took in the Valentino Fall 2018 Couture collection front row and I have been dying to see her wearing the brands looks on the red carpet ever since. She had talked about tearing up when she saw the marigold taffeta gown that closed the show and I was originally going to put that in this wish list, but then Beyonce grabbed it up for her On The Run II tour wardrobe and that idea died. I decided to pick another gown from that collection for Mrs Ross, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, with this red sleeveless gown which features beaded striped and dark red velvet panels on the mermaid hem. I originally had picked this gown for Julianne Moore to wear for anything, but I definitely think that Tracee would make this the truly major moment that I know it could be on the red carpet. It is modern and dramatic and I think that with some sort of braided updo, defined eyes, red lips, a red Judith Leiber Couture ‘Siam’ faceted clutch, a pair of red velvet Alexandre Vauthier ‘Yasmin’ crystal buckled sandals, and Harry Winston diamond and ruby cluster earrings that Tracee would be one of the best dressed of the night.

The 2018 Emmy Awards will take place on Monday September 17, 2018.

2018 Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

We are getting close to the opening of the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. Over the course of the 11 days of the festival it is just wall to wall celebrity. I am really excited to see what everyone is going to bring this year. The level of glamour and drama we have seen at every major event this year has been the best they have ever been and I know deep in my soul that TIFF this year is going to turn out a few Best Dressed of the Year worthy red carpet moments. One of the many stars who I am really excited to see at TIFF this year is the always glamorous Gabrielle Union who will be presenting her film The Public. I always get very excited about what Gabrielle brings to the red carpet. She has a style that molds to whatever occasion she is attending and I definitely think that for a TIFF premiere that she will be on top of her game. When I went shopping for the perfect gown for her to wear I knew I wanted to put her in something yellow and I decided that this bold saffron yellow Sachin + Babi Resort 2019 off the shoulder gown was the perfect fit. It doesn’t have any bold print or embellishment, but I think that the color on Gabrielle would be one of those eye popping moments. I wouldn’t keep this look completely devoid of sparkle though adding a pair of yellow Gucci ‘Ilse’ crystal embellished sandals, a pair of Harry Koltar ‘Arabesque’ white and yellow diamond stud earrings, and a matching Harry Koltar ‘The Vault’ tennis necklace. A dramatic braided bun, smokey eyes, and red lips all would really make this the perfectly dramatic and bold moment I am praying for from Gabrielle. Aside from an appearance at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival earlier this year we haven’t really seen anything from Jena Malone on the red carpet since the final installment of The Hunger Games saga was released. She stars alongside Gabrielle in The Public and I am hoping that she dazzles us one the red carpet in Toronto this year. Jena has been working with power stylist Karla Welch and so that means that I have high expectations for her look. I went the custom rout picking this green, silver, and gold custom Prada strapless column sequin print gown for Jena. It would be one of the better custom Prada gowns and I definitely think that this moment would make it a really dazzling return to the red carpet for Jena especially when styled with a sleek blonde bob, smokey eyes, pink lips, a green leather Prada studded clutch, and a pair of black Prada crystal embellished strappy sandals. When Orange is the New Black first debuted I loved seeing Taylor Schilling on the red carpet, but I have to admit that she hasn’t gotten me excited about anything that she has worn in a long time. I won’t lie I didn’t pick the most boundary pushing moment for her to wear for the premiere of The Public alongside Gabrielle and Jena, but it is something I think she would wear. I definitely think that this simple but chic black Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2019 RTW strapless draped silk cocktail dress is perfect for Taylor. It definitely isn’t anything special, but with some great styling I know it could be a really chic moment. I would add a black velvet Tyler Ellis ‘Lily’ clutch, a wavy bob, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of black and white Sophia Webster ‘Soliel’ ruffled leather sandals, and L’Dezen by Payal Shah ‘Sisilia Bella’ sliced and pave diamond drop earrings to add some chic visual impact to this classic moment for Taylor.  Vera Farmiga is another one who I loved when I first learned who she was, but I haven’t really been interested in anything that she has worn since before she took the role she had in Bates Motel. I would love to see Vera deliver something really chic that I could get excited about on the red carpet in Toronto where she will be promoting her newest film The Front Runner. I picked another LBD for Vera just because that is typically her comfort zone and I really want to see her execute it in a major way. I definitely think that this black velvet Stella McCartney long sleeve midi dress which features an open back tied at the neck is something that Vera would own the red carpet at this festival rocking this gown. I feel like if anyone could make this simple velvet LBD come across as a major moment it could be Vera and I think that would be executed perfectly with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a black and silver Stella McCartney ‘Falabella Zigzag’ clutch, black Jimmy Choo ‘Lancer’ strappy mesh pumps, and a pair of Hueb ‘Botanica’ diamond and emerald wreath earrings. While Vera isn’t a major fashionista anymore her young co-star Kaitlyn Dever definitely is. I definitely think that Kaitlyn is going to make a major moment out of this red carpet. She hasn’t had a major couture moment on the red carpet yet, and what better place for her to have one than at a major film festival? I definitely think that the 21 year old actress would own the red carpet at the premiere of The Front Runner wearing this black Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture cocktail dress which features flutter sleeves, defined waist, a-line skirt, and simple beaded embellishments. I could definitely see Kaitlyn’s stylist Karla Welch pulling this dress and pairing it with a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Tacey’ crystal and feather embellished slingback pumps and Maxior emerald and white topaz cluster earrings making it a real statement moment for the red carpet. Finishing the look with a sleek updo, defined eyes, and red lips all would make sure that this ensemble is head to toe perfection.

The 2018 Toronto International Film Festival will open on Thursday September 6, 2018 and runs through Sunday September 16, 2018.

“Smallfoot” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Smallfoot is an upcoming Yeti in search of proof of humans animated feature that looks really cute. I have to say aside from Disney movies I don’t watch a whole lot of animated features anymore, but this might be one I watch. At home. On DVD. While you don’t see the cast the voice cast of this film is star studded we have Channing Tatum, Gina Rodriguez, Common, Yara Shahidi, and James Cordon among many others. This could be a really fun premiere red carpet. On top of the cast we could see some famous celebrity families show up on this red carpet.I decided that will we could see some of those celeb families like Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Pratt, or Beyonce attend this premiere that I just wanted to focus on the three main starlets of this film for this set of wishes. When it comes to Gina Rodriguez she is probably my least favorite, style wise, of this cast. She has yet to really wow me and I honestly don’t expect this premiere to be the place that she makes my jaw drop. I think that however she should have a chic moment that fits her incredibly well. I could have taken something off the runway for Gina, but I decided that I really loved this black Sachin + Babi Nior ‘Papenella’ sleeveless knot midi dress which features a gold sequin panel on a flared hem that I found on the virtual racks from Neiman Marcus. This is definitely something that I can see Gina being drawn to and I think that for a premiere for a movie like this that is would work well. A sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Apostrophy’ pumps all would really make this a simple yet chic moment for Gina.Regular readers will know I love Yara Shahidi’s style. I went around and around with different options for her, but ultimately I decided to modify, ever so slightly, a cocktail dress from the Miu Miu Resort 2019 collection. I took a chic white sleeveless shift dress which features bold silver metal embellishments and a high turtleneck that was modeled by Liya Kebede and decided that I wanted to add a feathered hem like was seen on a skirt similar to this dress modeled by Suki Waterhouse. I think that the feathers just make this dress a little more youthful and glamorous for a Hollywood red carpet. Yara has this easy statuesque glamour and I really do think that she would be able to really carry this dress incredibly well on the red carpet. I think that with a curly bun updo hairstyle, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of silver Gianvito Rossi asymmetrical crystal detail sandals would add the perfect finishing touches on this ensemble. Rounding out this list is my favorite of these wishes for the always fabulous Zendaya. I wanted to go for a soft glamorous yet almost icy look and that is exactly what I found in this Moschino Resort 2019. This ballet pink cocktail dress which features intricate embellishment on the bodice, drop waist, and a rise and fall pleated skirt reminds me of the classic flapper dresses of the 1920’s and I think Zendaya would look absolutely glamorous wearing this dress on the red carpet. The dress itself on the runway was very sheer, so I would imagine that Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach would ask Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott to add some sort of matching silk lining so that the dress doesn’t loose its light airiness at all. I would keep the styling very glamorous with a fingerwave updo, defined winged eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of powder pink suede Aquazzura ‘Eden’ crystal embellished chandelier heel sandals all would really ensure that this ensemble is vintage inspired glamour from head to toe.

16 Potential Red Carpet Moments From Resort 2019

Today we have just one more set of seasonal wish lists to close out the week. Since the Resort 2019 season kicked off back on May 3, 2018 with the Chanel Cruise 2019 presentation and just wound down during Paris Couture. Over the course of that about two month long period fashion houses staged runway shows and held presentations around the world. Aside from Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, and Louis Vuitton most designers showed a lookbook instead of a runway show. I love this season because it is just about the clothes more so than theatrical styling. The hair and makeup are simpler. They don’t compete as much with the clothes. There are definitely many potential red carpet moments hiding in this season’s collections. Andrew Gn: Kicking off the looks that I want to see brought to life on the red carpet is this yellow and silver brocade wing sleeve gown which features an exaggerated sleeve detail, an A-line bodice, flared hem, and small train detail. It is a very flirty and feminine gown, but it will need a real statuesque woman to make it work on the red carpet and I think that Elizabeth Debicki would be the perfect person to do just that.

Badgley Mishcka: I don’t often think about Badgley Mishka anymore, but I really loved the brands Resort 2019 collection. The whole collection was a statement of glamour, and I do think that there are several chic looks that would make for chic red carpet moments. This teal, yellow, white, and red floral print tea length gown which features a v-neck, full skirt, and bold red bow detail is something that is an incredibly glamorous yet statement making moment. Someone like Sarah Hyland would really make this a chic red carpet moment, maybe for one of the pre-Emmy Awards parties?

Carolina Herrera: This season was the first season where Wes Gordon was in total control of the Carolina Herrera creative directions. He has been around consulting for the brands namesake for a couple of months, but after handing Mrs. Herrera with a bouquet of red roses he took the reigns solo. This collection was incredibly chic and it makes me forward to seeing what Wes will continue. This collection showed how seamless the transfer of power at Herrera has been. He stuck to the codes of the brand to a T. It was the epitome of femininity and stars are already giving love to this collection on the red carpet. We have already seen Brie Larson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Goya Toledo, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Tao Okamoto all rocking looks from this collection on the red carpet. As soon as I flipped to this white one shoulder tea length gown which features rainbow stripes and a full ball skirt I knew that I wanted to see Emilia Clarke rock it on a red carpet. It could be a really chic moment and I think that if anyone could make it the perfect effortless moment on the red carpet it would be her.

David Koma: Sexy, structure, and beading are the main codes at David Koma. Coming off the heels of him exiting as the creative director of Mugler I was expecting to see Mr. Koma invest more creative capital in his own brand, but we definitely did not see that this season. It was more of just what we have come to love, and expect, from the brand, but there were still several red carpet moments that came out of this collection. Usually when I see something like this blue embellished strong shoulder dress which features an asymmetrical side slit hem and a v-neckline I would think of Jennifer Lopez, but this time it was a different Jennifer (Jennifer Lawrence) that came to mind. While I think that JLo would absolutely kill this dress on the red carpet with some sparkly black Louboutin’s I also think that it would be an unexpected edgy glam moment for JLaw as well. Fausto Puglisi: I have to say that I often feel like Fausto Puglisi is very repetitive when it comes to his runway looks. I have to say that when I look back at his Resort 2019 collection it was pretty much more of the same, but it was done so well it wasn’t till I typed those words that I realized how much of the collection is a seasonal reinterpretation of a classic Fausto Puglisi piece. The brand is known for this sexy cut that also seems to have and ode to ancient Rome, and that is exactly what we got from him this season but with bold color and color-blocking. My favorite look from the collection was this bold and black, lilac, and red asymmetrical color block long sleeve column gown which features a v-neck, grommet stud detailing, and fit and flare silhouette and I really want to see Suki Waterhouse bring it to life on the red carpet, and I think that is because the model reminds me of her.

Fendi: Fendi is the only brand that has made my potential red carpet moments lists for Fall 2018 Couture, Spring 2019 Menswear, and now Resort 2019. I don’t know what is the water that Karl has been drinking when he designs Fendi, but it has been inspired. While the iconic Fendi ‘Zucchino’ logo print is nothing new it has had a resurgence in the last year or so. In fact logo prints have been back across the board from Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel. So this teal and red ensemble which features a short sleeve button down top with a wide collar and a matching wrap style skirt which with features a buckle waist detail, pleating, and an asymmetrical hemline is a bold modern moment on this classic Fendi print. I’m not usually one for in your face logo prints, but I do love this look and I feel like someone who doesn’t flaunt brand like Naomi Watts would really bring this look to life for a casual red carpet appearance.

Gucci: Watching the Gucci Resort 2019 show, which was located at medieval cloisters in Arles, France with fire lighting the runway, was like partaking in a religious experience. Maybe Alessandro was inspired in part by this years Met Gala theme. He encapsulated the inspiration behind the collection by saying that tit was inspired by a rave in a cemetery. The styling was as over the top as ever. You don’t see robotic and repetitive styling from Alessandro’s Gucci, ever. The styles that came down the runway were hard to digest in most cases. There was so much layering, almost too many accessories, props, and patterns that things got lost in translation for me. One look I did really love, but have absolutely no idea where it would be worn, is the black velvet midi gown which features blouson 3/4 length sleeves, a watteau neckline, and a 3D rib cage embellishing the bodice. It is the beauty in the grotesque and it only marginally works. It definitely would take the right person to make me fall in love with this look off the runway. Lady Gaga is really the only person that springs to mind, but with her promoting A Star Is Born under her birth name I wonder if we will see looks like this from the eccentric singer turned actress.

Louis Vuitton: When I watched the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 show I thought of all the potential that lies within the codes set forth in the collection that could lead to custom gowns. In fact in the days following the release of this collection me and my friend Evita from For The Love of Red Carpet Fashion (and the person who does all the custom gown edits) came up with custom design ideas for almost 40 custom Louis Vuitton gowns inspired by what came down the runway during this show. When it comes to runway looks I tend to get very bored with Louis Vuitton very fast because it has to many brand ambassadors that they over saturate the market. I usually say that halfway through a season I am ready for the next one I am bored with seeing the same styles over and over again. I do however really want to see this black, white, and orange mixed print sequin mini dress which features strong ruffles shoulders, long sleeves with flared cuffs, subtle peplum detail, and a skater skirt to make a red carpet moment. There are so many Louis Vuitton devotees who I think could really sell this dress to me on the red carpet but I feel like it would be an edgier moment for someone like Ruth Negga whom we are used to seeing wear more romantic style. Marchesa: It is not a “special anniversary” season for Marchesa. In fact it came out when Marchesa is still in the throws of controversy thanks to Harvey Weinstein. Back in May right after Scarlett Johansson wore a Marchesa gown to the Met Gala stylist to the stars Ilaria Urbinati took to her Instagram with a defense of Marchesa, and its co-founder Georgina Chapman. She said “I don’t see how it’s right to have completely thrown her under the bus alongside him despite the fact that she left him. It reeks a bit of the old habit of asking the woman what SHE did wrong when the husband cheats. If anything my first instinct is not to blame her but to rally by her because i can’t even begin to imagine what she must have felt when she found out.  This is a woman whose entire life has been flipped upside down and who will have to deal with the fact that her children will grow up with a scarlet letter – a fact which i can assure you as a mother – all the money in the upper west side can never make okay.  As a stylist, putting her dresses on clients is tricky because i wouldn’t want to enforce that kind of scrutiny on a client. That would have to be their choice. But i appreciated the ballsiness of Scarlett Johansson showing up at the recent Met in one of her creations.” And I have to agree. I don’t want to see Marchesa or Georgina harmed anymore than they already have been. I want to see people who constantly wore Marchesa head back to the brand for future red carpet moments. I would love to see Kate Beckinsale snatch up this black and gold strapless ruffled gown which features a sweetheart neckline with a fit and flare bodice, golden embroidery, and a mermaid hem and make it a totally major moment. It reminds me of a Marchesa gown Kate wore back in 2010 for an Elton John event.

Maticevski: One of the most underrated designers out there right now is in my opinion is Toni Maticevski. The Melbourne based designer is a genius of draping and drama and I feel like we don’t see a lot of the brand on the red carpet. It has a celebrity fan base that includes Ciara, Solange Knowles, Aishwarya Rai, Lily Collins, and Sonam Kapoor. I think Thandie Newton would be the perfect person to join those legions wearing this black and brown ensemble which features a black one shoulder origami draped top with a dramatic train, black tailored classic pencil pants with a thick banded waistline and seam detailing, and detachable toffee faux leather ruched sleeves.

Mugler: Mugler ended up showing off season after the unexpected departure of its creative director David Koma with its Fall 2018 RTW collection. New creative director Casey Cadwallader presented his second collection for the brand and I am slowly coming around. It isn’t the most red carpet friendly brand, like it was under Koma, but there are pieces that I would like to be worn. Most of all I am obsessed with the blush, yellow, and purple fringe gown that that really made for a very dramatic moment. It was a real statement moment, but I have struggled with who would sell it on the red carpet. I thought about all of the fun that Heidi Klum had when she was wearing a similar fringe gown by project runway alumni Sean Kelly on the red carpet at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards and thought she might be perfect to give this Mugler fringe gown a moment as well.

No. 21: Another one of my favorite brands that I think is very underrated is No. 21. Alessandro Del’Aqua delivers chic Italian glamour in his collections for the brand and I am always excited to see what he will present next. There is no shortage of looks to make glamorous moments on the red carpet from the brands Resort 2019 collection. In fact I’ve already put a short suit from the brand in my San Diego Comic-Con wishes for Evan Rachel Wood. My favorite look from the collection was this silver one shoulder sequin cocktail dress which features a large pink bow detail on the shoulder and a contrasting color back panel. It is fun and flirty and I think that since Alison Brie is working with a new stylist recently that this might be a fun moment to bring to one of the cocktail events that she attends.Oscar de la Renta: When it comes to glamour does any brand to it better than Oscar de la Renta? I have always loved the looks that came down an Oscar de la Renta runway but when Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim took over the reigns of the brand they brought this new modern twist to the brand. It found a whole new life under these two and I am forever in love with it. I am already hoping that these two will be to Oscar what Karl Lagerfeld has been to Chanel. The brand has attracted a younger brand of celebrity since the two joined the brand including Emma Watson. She wore several looks from the brand last year while she was promoting Beauty and the Beast, and I would love to see her step onto a red carpet wearing this white strapless eyelet lace gown which features a sweetheart neckline, empire waist, contrast bow at the bustline, and an asymmetrical hemline.

Rosie Assoulin: When it comes to that relaxed glamour that often times goes over so well on the red carpet very few do it as well as Rosie Assoulin. She meshes bohemian elegance with drama and it makes for absolutely glamorous collections. I always look forward to seeing what she will present each season and the Resort 2019 collection might be my favorite one yet. Her brand is perfect for resort. It is the perfect mesh of dramatics and wear-ability. If I were a rich lady yachting the world I would want to sip my champagne on the sun deck wearing Rosie Assoulin. The brand has amassed a huge celebrity following including Naomie Harris who I think would be the perfect person to bring this navy strapless rainbow striped silk taffeta gown which features a fitted bodice that flares into a full, structured skirt and a defined sash detail waist to life on the red carpet.

Sachin + Babi: For the most part we don’t see Sachin + Babi dress a whole lot of the a-list, aside of Helen Mirren, but I really want to see more stars embrace the brands signature glamour on the red carpet. I feel like there are so many potential red carpet moments that are hiding in this collection. The gown I want to see most is this bright yellow strapless cocktail length pencil dress which features a dramatic bow attached at the back. We often see Amanda Seyfried rocking the most coveted labels like Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, and Prada on the red carpet, but I really do think that she would take this gown and own it.

Viktor & Rolf Sior: Finishing out this list the drama and glamour of Viktor & Rolf. I was really excited last September when the label relaunched ready-to-wear. I love the genius of the brand and I really do believe that there is a way to balance out the incredibly avant garde designs they send down the couture runways and the more wearable approach to glamour. That is what they have figured out with the launch of the Sior line. It is still dramatic, but still incredibly wearable. We have already seen Zendaya rock several looks from the first Sior collection, so I would love to see her bring the glamour to the red carpet wearing this lavender embroidered bow drape ballgown which features a sweetheart neckline, pastel 3D floral embroidery detailing on the bodice, and a dramatic full skirt.

“The Meg” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

The Meg looks like a terrible meshing of Snakes on a Plane, Jaws, and Jurassic Park. I personally don’t know if I will ever watch it, but the cast is decent so I thought I would put a set of wishes out for the films premiere. It is expected to be released in theaters on August 10, 2018 with a premiere expected around August 6, 2018. The film screams a casual LA premiere moment. I would expect the stars of this film to show up wearing jeans and leather jackets, but that is the exact opposite of what I’ve put on this wish list.Ruby Rose is this sexy and edgy girl who gives tom-boy ease more than we see give glamour on the red carpet. I could definitely see Ruby showing up on this red carpet wearing some leather cargo pants and a white t-shirt, and it would be cool. But I went for edgy glamour for her to bring to the red carpet of this premiere with this silver liquid sequin Sachin + Babi Resort 2019 strapless gown which features a black mini skirt under a column skirt with a thigh high split. This is definitely a really glamorous moment and I really do think that if anyone could make it come to life on the red carpet that it would be Ruby. A punky hairstyle, silver smokey eyes, nude lips, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Mechante Reine’ pumps in satin, leather, and PVC with crystal and spike embellishments would add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble for Ruby.It has been a long time since we have seen Li Bingbing on the red carpet and even longer that we’ve seen her promote a major mainstream Hollywood project. During that promo tour for Transformers: Age of Extinction giving chic fashion moments from Elie Saab, Stephane Rolland, Erdem, and Giambattista Valli. She loves a couture moment so I wonder what she will bring to this red carpet. I feel like if anyone in the cast would give a major couture moment on this red carpet that it will be Li and I think that doing so in this white Georges Hobeika Fall 2018 Couture cocktail ensemble would be the right option to go with the vibe of this movie. It is just dramatic enough to make a statement but feminine enough not to be too much for a premiere of a movie like this. A simple bun updo, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of white satin Jimmy Choo ‘Lorina’ sandals, a white Marchesa beaded crystal clasp clutch, and Chopard diamond and emerald drop earrings all would round this ensemble out perfectly ensuring that Li has a triumphant red carpet return. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is almost always on the arm of her fiance Jason Statham when he steps out to promote a film. I really hope that tradition isn’t broken with this premiere and the sultry former Victoria’s Secret model will be on his arm to celebrate his latest project. I would love to see Rosie give short, sexy, and glamorous on this red carpet wearing this black and white The Attico Fall 2018 RTW pearl embroidered mini dress which features bow tied thin straps and a fringe hem. This dress is everything that I feel Rosie would be drawn to and as a plus one that this would be the perfect dress for her to rock for this red carpet especially when paired with a romantic updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a black and green Attico drawstring clutch, and black Christian Louboutin ‘Lace’ pointed toe pumps.

2018 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 8

Here we are! It is my final set of wishes before the red carpet tomorrow night. Just for more ladies stand between me and my Tony awards viewing party! So I’m not going to put a whole paragraph out there again about why I love the Tony Awards red carpet and just get to the wishes. Back in 2015 Bernadette Peters made Zac Posen’s dreams come true by bringing him as her date to the Tony Awards and wearing a peridot green satin gown from his collection. I went back to the designer for Bernadette to wear this year as she takes to the red carpet ahead of presenting tomorrow night. When I read that Bernadette was presenting this blush Zac Posen Resort 2019 gown which features a cuffed off-the-shoulder neckline, pleated construction, and a cascading pleat sleeve immediately came to mind. It is sexy yet modest and I definitely think that Bernie would be totally be about rocking this gown on the red carpet. Add a pair of blush pink Gianvito Rossi ‘Simone’ feather detail slingback pumps, her signature tight curls, defined eyes, bright pink lips, and Harry Winston pink sapphire and diamond drop earrings and I definitely think that I would love this ensemble on Bernadette.Claire Danes is very pregnant and presenting tomorrow night at the 2018 Tony Awards. Some of her red carpet lewks recently have made her bump very prominent and others have made me think “wait isn’t she preggers?” and I wonder what her look tomorrow night will be. I feel like this gunmetal grey Monique Lhuillier Fall 2018 RTW metallic embroidered draped gown which features a one shoulder silhouette with a twist detail at the waist and a front slit would drape beautifully over her baby bump. I believe that it would be another of those “wait” moments. It would be absolutely glamorous and I think that with old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of black and gold Monique Lhuillier pearl detail stiletto sandals, and vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and cultured pearl drop earrings that this would be an absolutely dramatic and glamorous look for Claire to rock on the red carpet. American Idol winner and former SMASH star Katherine McPhee will be presenting at the 2018 Tony Awards tomorrow night. She is currently staring in Waitress so it makes sense that she will be one of the many stars on hand to hand out the spinning Tony Awards. I went through so many ideas when it came to the perfect look for Katherine to rock on the red carpet tomorrow night and when I saw this lime Sachin & Babi Noir “Bonnie” column gown with a draped bow detail one shoulder neckline I knew it would be a great moment on the red carpet for the actress. It is a bright, glamorous statement and I honestly don’t think many could make this color work on the red carpet, but I do think it would compliment Katherine’s tan skin tone. I think that with a loose updo, defined eyes, red lips, vintage gold Judith Leiber Couture crystal and tassel detail clutch, champagne gold crystal Rene Caovilla metallic snakeskin ankle wrap sandals, and a pair of Kiki McDonough tourmaline, diamond, and peridot earrings would really ensure that this look is absolutely beautiful from head to toe. And last but certainly not least we have the star who I think will ultimately take home the Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play trophy Noma Dumezweni. Noma was nominated for an Olivier Award for originating the role of Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child when it opened on the West End in London and now she holds a Tony nomination for bring the role to Broadway. While she didn’t win the Olivier Award I think she just may take home the Tony trophy. For her red carpet look I decided to have Noma represent a British designer on the Tony’s red carpet. I feel like Noma would be the perfect person to step into the archive room at Ong Oaj Pairam and snatch this dark (almost black) wine floral printed gown which features an off the shoulder sweetheart neckline, an a-line draped skirt, and a very dramatic train out of the darkness and put it on this hallowed theater red carpet. This is a moody yet feminine take on glamour I think is something that Noma would look absolutely gorgeous wearing on the red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, black Gianvito Rossi braided suede sandals, and a pair of statement IVY New York rhodolite, ruby, and diamond drop earrings all would ensure that Noma has a winning look on tomorrow nights red carpet.

The 2018 Tony Awards will take place on Sunday June 10, 2018.

2018 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 7

Well the 2018 Tony Awards are tomorrow night, but I still have quite a few wishes left for stars that we are expecting to see on the red carpet at this years event. The glamour of the Tony Awards red carpet continues to get better and better and I am really excited to see what everyone that is planning to descend upon the red carpet at Radio City Music Hall will wear tomorrow night!Bette Midler took home the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical award last year for her performance in the revival of Hello, Dolly! while we wait for her name to be announced as a presenter this year I decided to just add her to the list this year. I would love to see Bette on the red carpet because she knows how to really do glam on the red carpet. She has great friends in fashion including Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors and either could whip up a custom gown for her to rock on this red carpet tomorrow night. I looked at both the runways and the online racks for a gown from either designer for Bette to wear, but there wasn’t one I was thrilled with. Instead I decided to snatch a very sleek Greta Constantine gown off the virtual racks of FarFetch. I think that Bette would look very chic wearing a modified version of this black and white off-the-shoulder column gown. I think that the shape of this long sleeve gown is very Bette, but I feel like she would want the gown to have more of a sleeve covering her shoulder than it was originally designed with. While we are used to seeing Bette in dazzling sequins or bright colors I think that this sleek gown would be a really gorgeous moment for her. Add a full whispy lob, defined eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of black Marc Jacobs platform block heel sandals and I think that this would be a really great moment. Carey Mulligan is going to be one of the a-list presenters tomorrow night and I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpet. The past Tony nominee has been really giving me looks to get interested in recently and I feel like she will continue to bring it tomorrow night on the 2018 Tony Awards red carpet. I immediately went to one of Carey’s go to designer, Dior, and their newest collection for the perfect gown for her to wear tomorrow night. I feel like she would be absolutely be drawn to this black and eggshell Christian Dior Cruise 2019 strapless tea length gown which features a sweetheart neckline, defined waist, and a tiered a-line skirt. This very 50’s inspired gown is gorgeous and I think that with Carey’s no muss no fuss vintage inspired style that it would be a really beautiful moment. I would leave the wide leather belt at home. Instead opting to style the gown with a sleek updo, simple defined eyes, red lips, a black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ crystal embellished clutch, a pair of black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Emily’ platform stiletto sandals, and vintage 18k gold set Bulgari diamond and emerald earrings.Tony Award winning actress Jessie Mueller is nominated again this year for Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a Musical for her performance in the revival of Carousel! and I am really excited to see what she will select for the red carpet tomorrow night. Jessie has a very feminine sense of style and we have seen her wear modern princess gowns from Randi Rahm and Christian Siriano in years past. Something in my soul says that Christian is once again going to dress the actress, but if I were to pick a gown right off the runway I would love to see Jessie wearing this blue velvet and rust red sequin Sachin + Babi Fall 2018 RTW strapless column gown. This is a darker, moodier approach to glamour is incredibly sexy and would allow us to see a different side of Jessie’s style than we are used to seeing. I think that with a romantic updo, defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of navy Paul Andrew ‘Zenadia’ pumps, and Martin Katz rose cut diamond triangle drop earrings that this would be Jessie’s best Tony Awards red carpet moment yet.Jessie’s Carousel! co-star Lindsay Mendez is also nominated for a Tony this year in the Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical category. She is the one in this list that I have the least knowledge of her style. So I went shopping knowing her body shape and picked a gown I think would flatter her figure perfectly with this red Carolina Herrera sleeveless evening gown which features a cascading side ruffle detail, v-neckline, wrap style a-line skirt. This gown is very beautiful and classically glamorous and I definitely think that Lindsay would really be able to give us a very elegant moment on the red carpet. Add a pair of red satin Aquazzura ‘Forever Marilyn’ pumps, old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, defined eyes, matching red lips, and a pair of Amrapali victorian inspired diamond and carved ruby drop earrings and I definitely think that Lindsay would be able to hold her own against some of the red carpet heavyweights who will also be in attendance tomorrow night. Uzo Aduba has never been nominated for a Tony, but she was a presenter in 2016 where she wore an almost casual Juan Carlos Obando maxi dress for the red carpet. I want to see Uzo really go for the glam tomorrow night. She has the potential to be one of my favorite stars of the night and its because of that that I decided to customize a gown inspired by a dress off the Prabal Gurung Fall 2018 RTW collection runway. I have loved this two tone purple sequin cocktail dress which a drapes asymmetrical neckline, side split, and a slight a-line skirt since it first came down the runway in February, but I feel like it would need some modifications to be perfect for Uzo to wear tomorrow night. I would love to see Prabal take this gown and slice the thick ribbon strap off and then drape the back along the same diagonal line as the bodice of the gown and of course take the skirt to the floor. I think that because the gown is completely covered in sequins that this would be a really statement making moment for Uzo to bring to the red carpet so I wouldn’t over do it with a dramatic train following the gown. Finishing the look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ankle strap sandals, and Pasquale Bruni diamond and amethyst statement earrings would really ensure that this is one of Uzo’s best red carpet moments ever!

The 2018 Tony Awards will take place on Sunday June 10, 2018.

2018 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

In just over 48 hours the biggest names of stage and screen will descend upon Radio City Music Hall in New York City to Celebrate the 2018 Tony Awards. We are expecting performances from this years nominated musicals including The Band’s Visit, Mean Girls, Frozen, My Fair Lady, SpongeBob Squarepants, and more. In addition to the nominated shows we will also see a performance from last years Best Musical winner Dear Evan Hansen and from Bruce Springsteen who is currently performing on Broadway in his one man show  Springsteen on Broadway. When it comes down to it the red carpet at the Tony Awards can be either really good or really cheesy. I’ve said it several times but thank god that about 3 years ago Anna Wintour was asked to be an unofficial consultant and since then the carpet has been the most elevated that is has been in years. Broadway stars nominated and presenting have been known to stop by the VOGUE offices and get a styling session with some of the magazines editors in some of the most coveted runway looks. Anna Wintour has been a guest at the Tony Awards the past 4 years and usually she attends with her daughter Bee Shaffer. The last 3 years have seen Bee wearing Alexander McQueen, Erdem, and Marc Jacobs on the Tony Awards red carpet and I am very interested in seeing what she just might bring to the red carpet on Sunday. I went with a very bohemian glam moment for Bee with this cardinal red Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features thin criss-cross halter straps, cascading ruffle detail, and ruffle shoulder straps. I don’t think Bee has ever worn a Prabal gown on the red carpet, but I definitely think that this would be a perfect option for her to rock on this red carpet. Add a bronze Tyler Ellis ‘Aimee’ clutch, romantic updo, smokey eyes, matching red lips, a pair of bronze Aquazzura ‘Chateau’ crystal embellished sandals, and antique Fred Leighton rose cut diamond double cluster pendant earrings to really ensure that this look is perfectly glamorous for the Tony Awards red carpet. Frozen might be nominated for Best Musical, but none of the cast was able to scrape up a nomination, but we are still expecting to see them step out to support the show and perform a number during the 2018 Tony Awards. Idina Menzel left some pretty big shoes to fill (she did sing “Let It Go” all the way to an Academy Award win” and I do think that Caissie Levy does the role justice, and I am really intrigued to see what she will bring to the red carpet Sunday at the Tony Awards. She attended the opening night of Frozen wearing a red Zac Posen gown and I definitely think that she will be one of the Broadway stars who bring in the high fashion factor to the red carpet. I went a little left of what one would expect me to pick opting for a midi gown for Caissie to wear on this red carpet. I think that she would totally sell this ivory Oscar de la Renta Resort 2019 ruffle bodice midi gown which features a strapless neckline, with a ruffled floral detail, and a column silhouette. This gown is only like a week and a half old and they could definitely hold it for a bigger name, but I definitely think that Caissie would look absolutely gorgeous wearing this gown on the Tony Awards red carpet especially if paired with a gold glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Ellipse’ clutch, a romantic updo, smokey eyes, pink lips, a pair of ivory satin Jimmy Choo ‘Abel’ crystal broach embellished pumps, and Tiffany & Co. by Jean Schlumberger 18k gold, diamond, and aquamarine cluster earrings. Ever since Scarlett Johansson wore Marchesa and VOGUE published several article of support for Georgina Chapman and Marchesa I wonder who will be the next to wear the brand on the red carpet. The Tony Awards are a huge platform and I feel like it would surprise me if someone doesn’t wear a Marchesa gown on this red carpet. I feel like Kerry Washington would be a perfect person to bring the brand to life on the red carpet. One of my favorite looks from Kerry’s red carpet history is the Marchesa gown she wore for the 2013 Emmy Awards and with her being a big voice in the #TimesUp movement in Hollywood I think that she would be a perfect person to bring the brand to the red carpet. As a presenter this crimson red Marchesa Fall 2018 RTW strapless tulle drop waist gown which features a sweetheart neckline, a fitted bodice, 3D floral details, tiered ruffles, a full skirt, and a dramatic train might be a little much, but if anyone could make it work it would be Kerry. She has this regality that I think would really make this gown work for this red carpet. Style it with a vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, crimson red lips, a pair of red Aquazzura ‘Sofia’ sandals, a black Marchesa beaded crystal clasp clutch, and a pair of Chopard ruby floral cluster earrings and this could really be one of my favorite moments of the year. Laurie Metcalf was the winner of the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play trophy at the 2017 Tony Awards. I haven’t heard if she will be on hand this year after her run for and Academy Award earlier this year and on the heels of Rosanne being canceled. I do hope she will because I have to say that she has been one of my unexpected favorites to see on the red carpet. I would love to see Laurie step out on Sunday night being a beacon of summer style wearing this canary yellow Sachin + Babi Resort 2019 off the shoulder gown which features pleated details, an a-line skirt, and a sweetheart neckline. I had a difficult time picking the perfect gown for Laurie to wear, and then I saw the brand new Sachin + Babi Resort 2019 collection lookbook and this gown screamed Laurie wear me. I definitely think that this would be a really great moment for her to bring to this red carpet. Add a matching yellow Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ velvet clutch, a romantic updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of gold Jimmy Choo ‘Frederica’ sandals, and Chopard white and yellow diamond drop earrings and this would be a really beautiful moment for Laurie. Tina Fey is expected to take home the 2018 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for Mean Girls in addition to present on Sunday night and I am really excited to see what she may wear. I feel like Tina has this up and down sense of style. She loves a good black dress, but on Sunday I want to see Tina go for the bold via some great color on the red carpet at the Tony Awards. The moment I saw this electric blue Zac Posen Resort 2019 polka dot gown which features a pleated bodice with a scoop neckline, draped hanging skirt detail, and a front slit I immediately wanted to see Tina wearing it on the red carpet at the Tony’s. It is definitely a statement moment and I feel like it would hug Tina’s curves perfectly. Hoping that she will take home the Tony and that of course if the nights most coveted accessory, I would hope to see her style this look with a navy crystal Serupi ‘Montana’ clutch, a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of matching blue Gianvito Rossi strappy sandals mules, and Cartier diamond and sapphire art deco fringe earrings to really ensure that this is Tina’s night in more way than one.

The 2018 Tony Awards will take place on Sunday June 10, 2018.

2018 Tony Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Sunday night is the biggest night on Broadways. Over recent years the show has gotten more and more glamorous, in part thanks to the almost unexpected theater geek Anna Wintour, and I am really excited to see what this year will bring. It has been a few years since a female helped host the Tony Awards and I have to say I am really interested in seeing what the duo of Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban will bring to the stage this year. They are not the first names that would come to mind as my ideal hosts, but the idea is very intriguing. Josh was nominated last year for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical and Sara has been nominated for two Tony’s for Best Score one for Waitress back in 2016 and this year she is nominated for SpongeBob Squarepants so we have some Tony history coming to the Tony stage. Sara Bareilles isn’t known for her style. Like at all. I can honestly say I can’t think of one moment that she has given on the red carpet before that I can say that I really loved. I hope that with being both the host of the show and a nominee this year that Sara will elevate her style and bring bold and dramatic glamour to the red carpet. I feel like for the red carpet I went for drama and glamour by picking this navy Oscar de la Renta strapless silk ballgown which features silver embellishments on the neckline, corseted bodice, and a sweeping train. I definitely don’t think we will see Sara wearing ballgowns on the Tony’s stage, but I think that for the red carpet that this would be a really chic moment. Usually Sara wears her hair down in loose waves, but I want to challenge her hairstylist to bring a bevy of different hairstyles on Sunday night. With this Oscar de la Renta gown I would want to see Sara bring some sleek glamour with a structured updo to really ensure that the drama and glamour of this gown are perfectly complimented. I think that with the beaded neckline that Sara should pair this gown with a pair of 19th century diamond chandelier earrings from Fred Leighton, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of navy Tory Burch ‘Logan’ beaded stiletto sandals and that sleek structured updo that Sara would kick off her Tony Awards hosting wardrobe in high style. Sara doesn’t usually do bold color, but for the opening of the show I would love to see her bring bright color via this hot pink and red strapless Sachin + Babi Resort 2019 strapless gown which features a column silhouette, a ribbon tied waist, and sexy split on the side. This is definitely something that is very much outside of what we are used to seeing from Sara, but I think that for a stage look that this would be an absolutely perfect moment. Simple hot pink Schutz open toe sandals, a half up and half down wavy hairstyle, nude lips, soft defined eyes, and a pair of statement Margot McKinney pink and purple floral drop earrings would really help kick off the telecast in high style.

I have a feeling that the bulk of what we will see from Sara this Sunday night as she hosts the Tony Awards will be dark muted colors and neutrals. I know she loves a black gown, but I banished them because I tend to think black dresses don’t end up translating as well to the screen, especially when they are just seen on the stage and not a red carpet. I do think that this dark emerald green Pamella Roland Fall 2018 RTW metallic embroidered lace gown which features a deep V neckline, cut out detail, and tiered ruffles would be that dark style gown that I think we will see quite a few of from Sara. Add a sleek low bun, defined eyes, rose pink lips, gold glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pointed toe pumps, and a pair of Fernando Jorge ‘Radiant’ 18k gold and diamond starburst earrings to make this look perfection.

From dark green to metallic champagne. I think that this Andrew Gn Fall 2018 RTW lamé halter gown which features an embellished neckline and waistline with a pleated skirt would be a really beautiful moment for Sara. The gown I think would catch the stage lights and shimmer beautiful. I would love to see her twirl and work this gown to its full potential on the stage at the Tony Awards. I think that she would definitely bring this gown to life with a romantic updo, golden smokey eyes, dark rose pink lips, champagne glitter Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ crystal heel sandals, and a pair of white topaz drop earrings from Fred Leighton.

Finally the look I’ve picked for Sarah to close out the night to be a typically glamorous gown. I think that of all the gowns that I have picked for Sarah I think that this navy Tadashi Shoji Fall 2018 RTW sequin strapless column gown which features a black piped corset bodice is the most in her lane. I do think that she would be drawn to this gown, but I would really elevate it with the styling. I think that old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti strappy, crystal embellished stiletto sandals, and a glamorous diamond and sapphire Harry Winston necklace to really make it even more glamorous than it already is on the runway.

The 2018 Tony Awards will take place on Sunday June 10, 2018.

2018 Academy Awards: Performers Red Carpet Wish List

Sunday night might be about the movies, but there are going to be a plethora of music performances as well. Each song nominated for Best Original Song will be performed by their artists and I am really excited to see how some of these stars will bring to the red carpet. Each one of the stars who will be performing have two wishes. One for the red carpet, and then one to wear for their performances. I envision grand staged performances for some number and some I just picture being done very simply. Andra Day is the main artist on the Best Original Song nominated track “Stand Up For Something” from Marshall. She has this distinctive 40’s meets 60’s meets 80’s style and I honestly am really interested in seeing what she is going to be wearing on the red carpet this Sunday. This is the first time that Andra will be performing on the Oscars telecast, but she has previously performed for the Academy Governor’s Ball after party in 2016. By her standard the look that she wore that year was very tame. This year I really want to see Andra give her all. For the red carpet I went for a very 60’s Palm Springs hostess vibe with this black Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2018 column gown which features a dramatic chiffon caftan like cape and beaded embellishments on the neckline. I definitely think that this is out of the standard very sexy gowns and dresses that Andra usually wears, but I think would be perfect for the Oscars red carpet especially when paired with a black and gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Monarch’ crystal embellished butterfly clutch held by the chain, a pair of black Rene Caovilla gold crystal embellished suede platform sandals, a big 60’s inspired updo, dramatic smokey eyes with winged liner, dark red lips, and a pair of rose gold set Jacob & Co. diamond chandelier earrings. For the performance I upped the drama. I picture Andra standing on a dry ice smoke covered stage with bright light beams framing her and a vintage microphone belting her tune and I think that this black Ziad Nakad Fall 2017 Couture velvet gown which features a plunging neck, long sleeves, sheer details with floral embroidery, a full ball skirt, and a feathered hem would just add to the drama. I know that the way Andra’s hair is that it would take a lot to swap the hairstyles. So I would keep that 60’s inspired updo and the thick lined smokey eyes. I would swap the rest of the styling for bold bright red lips, a pair of black and blue Rene Caovilla two-tone crystal back ankle wrap pumps, and a crazy collection of Jacob & Co. jewels including a pair of art deco inspired diamond drop earrings, a statement art deco inspired diamond necklace, and four diamond and sapphire rings (one, two, three, and four) to really ensure that this is a really stand out stage look for Andra.Common is also one of the artists on “Stand Up For Something” and the former Best Original Song winner will join Andra on the Oscars stage Sunday night to perform the track. For the red carpet I went for classic with a twist with a black Givenchy Spring 2018 Menswear tuxedo which features beaded embellishments on the shawl lapel. Common is one of those guys who I know will bring a really chic look on the red carpet Sunday night. Bring the fashion factor to menswear on what will most likely be a sea of standard tuxedos. The beaded embellishments really elevate this look. I would keep the rest of the look pretty classic with a crisp white shirt, black bow tie, and a pair of subtle statement shoes via black Christian Louboutin ‘Casano Flat’ 3D rose embellished slippers to really turn this into a really statement making menswear moment on the Oscars red carpet. For his portion of the performance I would have Common swap jackets with the same style in a red micro floral print blazer with the same beaded shawl lapel detail but keep the black pants, white shirt, and black bow tie from the red carpet look. I would also swap the 3D rose loafers for a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Dandelion’ glitter flecked leather loafers to make sure that Common has a great red carpet and performance moment on Sunday night.Friends of mine will know that despite the fact I haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet I am completely obsessed with the soundtrack and “This Is Me” is my favorite to take home the Best Original Song trophy on Sunday night. I am really interested in seeing what the songs performer Keala Settle will bring to the Oscars red carpet. She delivered dramatic glamour in teal and black Christian Siriano at the Golden Globe Awards, and it has be really excited for what she will wear this weekend. For the red carpet I went for simple peasant style and bold color with this neon pink Sachin + Babi Pre-Fall 2018 long balloon sleeve gown which features a chest cutout, ruby red beaded embroidery on the neck and cuff, a center split, and a dramatic train. I definitely think that this gown would be a really bold statement for Keala to make on her first Oscars red carpet and I would keep the styling rather simple with a chic updo, kohl rimmed eyes, nude lips, and a pair of hot pink Miu Miu multicolored jeweled satin pumps. For her performance of “This Is Me” I would stage Keala center stage with black, white, and burgundy fabric draped to evoke a circus tent, a selection of crystal chandeliers at multiple varried levels with a full choir behind her. But most importantly I would style her in this ocean blue Christian Siriano Fall 2018 RTW draped a-ling gown which features a chiffon cape. I feel like this gown is is the perfect stage look for Keala to perform this bold ballad in. I would mic Keala with a hidden microphone adding Christian Louboutin ‘Degrastrass’ pumps in clear vinyl and silver leather with degrade Swarovski crystals, vintage inspired waves, the same makeup as the red carpet, and a pair of L’Dezen by Payal Shah white and blue diamond butterfly earrings to really make this the totally major performance moment for a totally major song. Mary J. Blige only has one wish on today’s set because I featured her red carpet gown with the Best Supporting Actress nominees since she is nominated in both categories. She is performing her nominated song “Mighty River” on Sunday night and I have to say it might be my second choice to win behind “This Is Me.” I thought long and hard about how I would stage this song for the Oscars stage and ultimately I thought that a set of wooden plank houses (evocative of the homes in Mudbound) with a world of twinkling stars around her would be perfect and this black liquid sequin Michael Kors Fall 2018 RTW column gown which features a turtleneck, balloon sleeves, and a maxi length would compliment that set perfectly. A sleek hairstyle, smokey eyes, red lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ embellished pumps, and a pair of black diamond and white pearl deGrisogono chandelier earrings all would add the perfect finishing touches to this Oscars stage ready ensemble. R&B star Miguel will attend his first Academy Awards on Sunday night to perform “Remember Me” from Coco. I have to say while the song is cute I feel like its the least likely to take home the trophy but I do know that the performance will probably be fun. For the red carpet I went for a modern take on tuxedo dress with a black velvet Balmain Fall 2018 Menswear tuxedo which features a wide satin lapel blazer with no button covered in crystals and a matching crystal embellished t-shirt paired with a plain black velvet skinny pants. This is definitely not your average Oscars suit, and on most I would totally say “cool look, wrong carpet,” but I think that Miguel would be the only one who could make this look come to life for me. For the performance, which I picture being staged like an old Mexican city decorated for El Día de los Muertos, I went on a hunt from Balmain for a jacket that reminded me of a high fashion interpretation of a Mariachi style. I found this black and gold beaded jacket and I was immediately sold. I feel like with a crisp white shirt, maybe a bolo tie, black skinny pants, and a pair of black boots that this would be a great moment for Miguel’s Oscars performance. Natalia Lafourcade is a Mexican pop-rock singer and songwriter who since her debut in 2003 has been one of the most successful singers in the pop rock scene in Latin America and will join Miguel to perform “Remember Me” on Sunday night. For the biggest night in Hollywood I went to Marchesa to pick the perfect looks for Natalia to wear on the Oscars red carpet and stage. For the red carpet I picked this black Marchesa velvet gown which features an off the shoulder neckline, multi-tone pink 3D floral applique, and a slit at the skirt. This is a really chic moment and I definitely think that Natalia would be able to sell this gown on the Oscars red carpet. Style it with a romantic updo, defined eyes, antique rose lips, a black and gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Skull Bela Lugosi’ crystal evening clutch, black and gold Rene Caovilla crystal studded satin strappy sandals, and a pair of rust colored tourmaline Irene Neuwirth drop earrings to really ensure perfection. For the performance I also looked to traditional Mexican dress as the inspiration, but with a high fashion touch. It was this black Marchesa Fall 2018 RTW floral embroidered gown which features an off the shoulder neckline, bow details on the sleeves, a high low hem, 3D floral applique, and a slit at the skirt that made me even think of Marchesa for Natalia at all. I saw this gown and thought it would be the perfect gown for her to wear for her Oscars performance. Keeping the red carpet beauty adding a pair of gold Sophia Webster ‘Lilico’ crystal floral ankle wrap sandals and a pair of faceted ruby and diamond Irene Neuwirth teardrop pendant earrings would ensure two head to toe perfect looks.

The 2018 Academy Awards are Sunday March 4, 2018!
