2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

The Grammy Awards are always one of the most fun red carpets of the year. I’ve always been excited to see what the stars will bring and I have to say that is still true this year. I have been quite happy with many of the previous music awards events. I want to see everyone bring GLAMOUR and DRAMA to the “red carpet” at the Grammy Awards this year, whatever it will look like. I have some major moments in my wishes this year and several of them are in today’s set. Are you ready to get into them with me? Ariana Grande is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Lady Gaga for their hit song Rain On Me. It is the only nomination Ari earned this year and she is not performing. What does that mean? Well I would say that means that we won’t be seeing her on a red carpet this year, but with the whole “red carpet from home” idea we’ve seen I hope that she will serve up a chic look on Instagram. When thinking about what I would love to see Ari wear for the Grammy’s red carpet I thought that going short with this sleeveless ice blue Elie Saab Spring 2021 Couture halter skater style dress with intricate beaded floral embroidery, an a line skirt covered in feathers, and a tulle train would be perfect. It’s fun, flirty, and a little ice capades-y and I think those are all thinks that are perfectly in tune with Ariana’s style. I think with her signature high pony, defined winged cat eyes, rose pink lips, silver crystal embellished PVC Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Catia’ ankle wrap sandals, and a pair of white diamond Butani cluster earrings that this look would scream youthful, flirty glamour from head to toe. I’ve been so excited about what Doja Cat would wear for the Grammy’s since I started to get to know her style over the fall. She has rocked major moments from Versace, Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, and Georges Hobeika Haute Couture for the different music award shows last fall and it is just leaving me really excited to see what the Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Solo Pop Performance nominee will bring to the Grammy’s, especially since she will be there in person as a performer. I went for two looks one for the “red carpet” and one for the stage to accept any award that she might take home. For the red carpet I’ve had my heart set on this white and silver Viktor & Rolf Spring 2021 Couture ensemble which features a heavily embellished bralet over a cropped white puffy sleeve button down and a high waisted tiered ball skirt since I first saw it. I feel like this gown is the perfect meshing of 80’s DRAMA and sex appeal in a very modern way. Doja is a fashion chameleon and I feel like she could definitely make it work. I would style this ensemble with a sleet retro inspired updo, defined eyes, wine red lined matte red lips, a pair of white Amina Muaddi ‘Zula’ PVC-trimmed and white leather strappy sandals, and a selection of major Lorraine Schwartz jewels including ‘Lightning bolt’ white diamond cluster earrings, a halo set three stone white diamond ring, a white diamond spear head coil ring, and a halo set marquis cut white diamond cocktail ring. Now all that being said I would say that after Doja was virtually front row at the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection presentation this week I would imagine that she will definitely be rocking a Givenchy look for the show this weekend. While I would still love to see that Viktor & Rolf look on the red carpet I think that this black crystal embellished slip gown with a beaded fringe hem from the Givenchy Fall 2021 RTW collection would be cool. Now I would change the look up ditching that coat it was styled with and then lining the sheer gown with liquid sequins to really elevate the glamour moment of this look. I would go full classic glam with this look styling it with a sleek fingerwave updo, defined eyes, bold matte red lips, a pair of sky high black Jimmy Choo ‘Max 150’ suede peep toe ankle strap sandals, and even more Lorraine Schwartz jewels including emerald cut emerald and white diamond drop earrings, a Colombian emerald 3 stone cocktail ring, and a white diamond and emerald angular cocktail ring to make sure that both of these would be astonishing moments for Doja to rock for her first Grammy’s red carpet. Justin & Hailey Beiber will also most likely be celebrating the Grammy’s from home since the singer who is nominated for 4 awards isn’t performing this year. The two are notoriously private as a couple and they don’t often do couples appearances. That being said I would have loved to see the couple work the Grammy’s red carpet together this year if it were a normal red carpet. Now the two have like polar opposite styles with Justin very laid back and Hailey a glamizon, but I feel like I picked looks for the two that speak to their individual style, but would compliment each other perfectly. For Justin I turned to the Celine Spring 2021 Menswear collection and this major black, red, and white color blocked leather bomber with gold detailing pair with two tone light wash loose fit jeans. Now the look was styled without a shirt on the runway, but I would add a white Celine ‘The Dancing Kid” loose fit t-shirt to the look as well as a pair of white and beige Celine ‘Blank’ low lace up toe cap sneakers to really make it a cool moment. Now for Hailey I went for super sexy glam with this black and red strapless Tony Ward Spring 2021 Couture intricately beaded sheer tulle column gown with a thigh high split and a built in bodysuit. It would absolutely be something that Hailey would be drawn to and I think it would compliment that Celine look for Justin perfectly. To complete this look perfectly for Hailey I would style this gown with a sleek bun updo with face framing tendrils, defined eyes, bold red lips, a pair of black patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Epic Rose 100’ wraparound ankle strap sandals and a silver pin heel, and a selection of deGrisogono jewels including black diamond and ruby ‘Volcano’ drop earrings and a dazzling white diamond and ruby cocktail ring. Lady Gaga is currently in Rome filming the new Ridley Scott “House of Gucci” movie so I would say that since she is in the production bubble that we will not be seeing her at the Grammy’s this year. She is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album and I would LOVE to still see her show us a major fashion moment on Instagram celebrating the Grammy Awards. I’ve been  wishing to see Gaga wearing this shocking pink velvet draped Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture gown which is draped from a headband and I know that she is really the only person who could sell this moment to me. I seriously don’t know who else could wear all this velvet and not get lost, but I know that Gaga would be able to work through this gown and serve up a major moment for me. I would style this gown with the gold glitter Valentino Spring 2021 Couture ankle strap crazy platform pumps, and over a million dollars in Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. jewels including a vintage 18k gold set white diamond, pink rubellite, and turqouise collar necklace from the 1960’s which sold at Christie’s for $905,000, an 18k gold ‘Bow Tie’ cuff bracelet, and a major 18k gold and platinum set ‘Tapestry’ white diamond and rubellite cocktail ring. It would SCREAM major avant garde glamour from head to toeWrapping up today is the fabulous Tiffany Haddish who is nominated for Best Comedy Album. I don’t know if we’ll see Tiffany at the Grammy’s yet, but I hope to at least see her show up with a major IG moment if she isn’t headed to the Staples Center. While I’ve gone for very avant garde moments for most of the stars in these wishes I wanted to go for something sleeker and more simplistic for her since she isn’t one of the music nominees. I feel like this black sheath dress from the David Koma Pre-Fall 2021 collection which features short flutter sleeves, plexi crystal circles on a peplum busts and a center split. It is sleek and sexy rock and roll glam and I feel like Tiffany would definitely be able to sell this look to me with ease especially if styled with her shaved head, defined eyes, deep red glossy lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Spikaqueen 100’ crystal embellished PVC ankle strap pointed toe sandals, and Gismondi 1754 jewels including white diamond ‘Niagara’ waterfall cluster earrings and a white diamond ear cuff in both ears.

The 2021 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS Sunday March 14, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years red carpet here.

2021 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

We are just a couple of hours away from the Golden Globes “red carpet” however that will look exactly, but before that carpet starts I have some wishes I want to put into the universe for next weekends Critics Choice Awards. We know that this years show will be much like the Globes tonight where the host and presenters are expected live, but all the nominees will join the show remotely. I just hope that people take the approach of getting dressed up to join the show from home like Zendaya and Tracee Ellis Ross did for the Emmy’s last year. I don’t want to see stars in pajamas all awards season long. It was a cute trope for the Emmy’s, but it’s one that will get real old real fast. So you aren’t going to see any pajamas here. I really can’t believe that Amanda Seyfried has been an awards season fixture for a while now, but is just now earning her first nominations. She always brings drama and glamour to the red carpet with looks that are visually interesting. I’ve kept to a very subdued color palate for Amanda so far this awards season with the Elie Saab Couture gown I picked for her to wear for the Golden Globes and the vintage Prada dress I used for my AFI Awards wish. I decided to keep that soft palate theme going with this dusty mauve Antonio Grimaldi Spring 2021 Couture strapless gown which features an asymmetrical bead embroidered neckline, a wave of ostrich feathers, and a column silhouette. I feel like Antonio Grimaldi could be a major red carpet force if the brand put the same effort into VIP PR as it does in paying the different Vogue’s around the world to feature the collections on their websites. This gown is classic yet boundary pushing all at the same time. It is all party on the top and classic on the bottom. I feel that this gown is perfect for the Critics Choice Awards where we don’t often see big couture gowns and stars take some risks. Since Amanda is nominated for the first time I wanted to make sure it was a moment befitting a nominee and I think this would be perfection. Style this gown with a sleek center parted hairstyle tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, deep mauve lips, a pair of nude satin Aquazzura ‘Bow Tie’ crystal embellished ankle strap sandals, and a pair of delicate pink morganite and white diamond Tiffany & Co. gold scroll set teardrop earrings and I know that Amanda would deliver the moment I am craving. Now I know I just said that most stars give more of a simplistic look on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet, but I don’t think that Cynthia Erivo knows the definition of simple. She really is a magpie who loves to give us DRAMA and GLAMOUR. She’s been one of the stars during lockdown that has consistently shown up and shown out with major fashion moments. So should we see her during the Critics Choice Awards telecast, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, I want to see her bring that same vibe to the stage or screen. I turned to the archives of Vera Wang to pull out this black strapless gown from the brands Spring 2016 Bridal collection which features a built in bustier, tummy cutout, dramatic ostrich feather skirt, a thigh high split, and a long train to find that moment. It is a perfect balance of sexy, glamour, modernity, and drama and I know that Cynthia would be a perfect person to bring this look out of the archive. Her signature bleach blonde shaved head, defined smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, a crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Wildcat Black Panther’ minaudiere, a pair of black Roger Vivier ‘Mini Broche Vivier’ crystal buckle peep toe platform sandals with a crystal embellished clear lucite chunky heel, and a statement Chopard Red Carpet Collection fringe choker would make sure that Cynthia is delivered that dramatic glamour from head to toe. I almost changed my wish for Dan Levy to wear for the Critics Choice Awards this morning after seeing a major piece of Boucheron jewelry I want him to wear, but I decided I’m going to hold onto that for a future wish. I went for a really wild and statement making menswear moment for Dan to wear for the Critics Choice Awards red carpet next weekend. I saw this black, gold, and green leaf print Libertine Fall 2021 RTW tuxedo during New York Fashion Week: Digital and fell in love with it. I would definitely add this to my personal wardrobe and I think that Dan could really bring this look to the Critics Choice Awards. Should we have to work with Dan Zooming into the show to most likely collect his Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series trophy I feel like this look would POP on the screen. I think that styling this suit with the white shirt and big bow tie from the lookbook adding thick black frame glasses and a pair of black velvet Christian Louboutin ‘Marpyramide’ loafers with gold square studs on the heels would put this look together perfectly. Jurnee Smollett Bell is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series and I really want to see what she will bring to the red carpet. Having looked at some of her past red carpet looks I know that she could bring some really major drama and avant garde moments to the red carpet. I’ve included her in some of my posts for events where her show Lovecraft Country has been nominated or honored. I did a bold ADEAM suit for the AFI Awards and a LBV gown for the Globes, but for the Critics Choice where she is actually nominated I wanted a true major glamour moment. I knew immediately as I was putting this list together that I wanted to use this intricately black beaded Nicholas Jebran Fall 2020 Couture gown which features a strapless structured bustier, dramatic plunging sweetheart neckline, portrait sleeves, defined waist, wrap style column skirt, and a super sexy thigh high split was what I wanted to use to give Jurnee a major glamour moment. I would make sure this look screams glamour from head to toe styling it with a sleek avant garde retro inspired updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Jewel Queen 100’ ankle strap and crystal embellished bow detailed sandals, and a statement Bayco ‘Magnificent’ collection collar necklace featuring 31.76 carats of Colombian emeralds and 74.09 carats of white diamonds. Finishing out today’s wishes is the always beautiful Tessa Thompson. I always love seeing Tessa get dressed up. She has served up looks while promoting projects like Passing and Sylvie’s Love in lockdown. The latter is where she earns her Critics Choice Award nomination this year. I was surprised that Amazon Studios decided to run Sylvie’s Love in the Television category instead of film, but it gave Tessa her only nomination this awards season. So with that in mind I wanted to pick something superb for her to wear for the Critics Choice Awards “red carpet” this year. I was in my couture archives and when I saw this silver and gold stretch Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture long sleeve gown which features a high neck, fitted silhouette, and over 100,00 Swarovski crystals covering the entire body I knew it was perfect for Tessa. I can just imagine how the stretch fit of this couture gown would hug all of Tessa’s curves and I know that she would work it from head to toe. To make this major moment even more major I would add a bun of braids, defined eyes, deep mauve matte lips, a pair of gold Tom Ford ‘Padlock’ metallic leather ankle strap sandals, a selection of major Mateo New York jewels including 14k gold set ‘Sunset’ citrine and white diamond geometric drop earrings, 14k gold set citrine and white diamond ‘Point of Focus’ coil ring, an ‘East West’ chunky citrine cocktail ring, a geometric 14k gold set white diamond ‘The Gift’ ring, and a 14k gold set ‘Secret Diamond Initial’ crystal quartz ring with a T initial halo set in white diamonds.

The 2021 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Sunday March 7, 2021. You can find all of my wishes for this red carpet here.

2021 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

I am hoping that the 2021 Golden Globe Awards will bring some absolutely major glamorous looks over the course of the evening. I hope this event goes better than the Emmy’s did last year. I was bored out of my mind with the show and the looks were lackluster at best save for a few bright spots. Nominees are expected to appear at this years show remotely I just hope that setup is done less like Zoom and more like broadcast from location. It can be done and I am holding out loose hope that it will be so.Andra Day was a surprise nominee this year. It seemed like The United States vs. Billie Holiday was out of the running for awards this year, but Andra has collected a whole host of awards nominations this year. I love Andra’s sense of style and I really want to see her shine this awards season. She has a retro sensibility and I will be highlighting that in all of my awards season wishes starting with the major moment I would love to see her wear for the Golden Globe Awards. The moment I saw this Schiaparelli Spring 2021 Couture ensemble which features a strapless black column gown with a half moon neckline and a sheer paneled waist paired with a dramatic red silk opera coat I immediately thought of Andra. Now it does have a bit of the same vibe as Lady Gaga’s 2019 periwinkle Valentino Couture gown, but I think that the two looks are different enough that I wouldn’t have any issue with Andra wearing this look for the Globes. Now with a sleek curled rockabilly inspired half up half down hairstyle, bold winged eyes and red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Mariacar 120’ fishnet mesh cross strap peep toe platform sandals, and statement David Webb ‘Cross River’ drop hoop earring made of round and oval-cut rubies, brilliant-cut diamonds, 18K gold, and platinum would definitely make this a major moment for Andra’s first Golden Globes red carpet. Schitt’s Creek took the Emmy’s by storm and swept in EVERY category during the show. The cast is one of the few who did it right by hosting a socially distanced viewing gala complete with it’s own red carpet. Annie Murphy showed up to that event in a black Valentino suit with a sheer bodice and some very interesting sneakers. It was cool, but for the Golden Globe Awards where her role in the show has earned her a Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role nomination, one she very well most likely win. I want to see her give us bold glamour wearing this black feathered Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features a dot printed one shoulder bodice, a sheer strapless bustier, and a velvet belted waist. We saw Annie wear Dior last year for the SAG Awards and I think this would be a perfect option for her to wear to win. It’s a favorite gown of mine and I am shocked it hasn’t been worn yet. A sleek updo, soft smokey eyes, deep antique rose pink lips, a pair of black dot detailed mesh Christian Dior ‘J’Adior’ peep toe slingback pumps, and vintage white diamond flower earrings in blackened 18k gold earrings from Beladora would ensure that Annie has her most glamorous red carpet moment ever. Catherine O’Hara was never one I would watch on the red carpet, but her Valentino ensemble at the Emmy’s was phenomenal. I know that it was a RTW look, but it was a phenomenal get. With that in mind as I was thinking about what I wanted the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy nominee to wear on this red carpet and I thought well let’s get couture. It isn’t often that the stars of the TV comedy category are offered great moments from top tier designers, but I think that Catherine has that pull right now. I would love to see her snatch up this black velvet Chanel Fall 2019 Couture long sleeve column gown which features a bodice heavily embroidered with white, gold, and silver detail that comes down the shoulders and sleeves and a black velvet bow on the neckline. It is a very chic and classic look with a bold twist via those embellishments and I feel like it is totally in tune with Catherine’s sense of style. It would be the perfect glamour moment with a side parted updo, defined eyes, bold red lips, a black crystal embellished Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ satin clutch, a pair of black satin Amina Muaddi ‘Ursina 105’ crystal embellished ankle strap d’Orsay pointed toe pumps, Chanel Haute Jewellery ‘Tweed de Chanel’ collection round disc white diamond earrings with teardrops, and a Chanel Haute Jewellery ‘Tweed de Chanel’ collection ‘Tweed Brode’ white diamond cocktail ring. Dan Levy is definitely a fashion guy and isn’t afraid to push boundaries. For the Emmy Awards last year he rocked a grey Thom Brown skirt suit and it was definitely one of the most important fashion moments of the night. He’s been dressed by major fashion houses like Valentino, Prada, and Versace. But for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards where he is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role I want him to really give us a fashion moment. Now the image of this look is very dark and it might be difficult to see all the detail of the look, so I implore you to click here and really see what this black Maison Margiela Spring 2021 RTW double breasted suit with a wax painted abstract detailing on the pinstripe wool blazer. The pants have a ripped detail, but I think I would ask Maison Margiela to create a custom pair of pinstripe trousers with the same waxed paint like details. It would take this look from editorial to red carpet. Now is this anything close to the classic satin tuxedos we see on the red carpet usually? Oh hell no, but I love that about this look. It is different and it is cool which is pretty much how I would define Dan. To continue to make this an incredibly cool look for Dan I would style this customized suit with a black collarless button down, a pair of black brush off leather Jimmy Choo ‘Falcon’ silver studded oxfords, a hand carved blue tigers eye Stephen Dweck flower sculpted ring, and a Cartier ‘Santos-Dumont Skeleton’ hand-wound 43.3mm ADLC-coated titanium and black alligator watch. My final wish today is for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy nominee Michelle Pfeiffer. I go back and forth on how I feel about Michelle’s style. I hated the Brunello Cucinelli glittered lurex dress she wore last year, and this year I really want to see her give us superb glamour when she makes her appearance during this years event. I would love to see Michelle dive real deep into the couture archives and pull this beautiful red silk cap sleeve gown which features a v-neck, belted waist, seam defined hips, and a center split which hails from the Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1986 Couture collection. I love vintage YSL couture. It is really all about cut and glamour and there are so many moments I would love to see worn on today’s red carpets. I feel like this sophisticated gown oozes not only glamour, but also sex appeal and I think that is perfect for Michelle. It would ooze sensual glamour from head to toe especially if Michelle styled the gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, nude pink glossy lips, a red crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, a pair of red patent leather Saint Laurent ‘Venus’ pointed toe pumps with a satin ribbon tied ankle strap, and a bit of sparkle via a white diamond Cartier ‘Reflection de Cartier’ riviere necklace.

The 2021 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday February 28, 2021. You can see all of my wishes for this years event here.

2020 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

I am SOOOOOO excited for the 2020 American Music Awards. With the confirmed performers, the nominees, and the hostess I am expecting some major fashion moments. I keep getting excited about fashion moments to come. I thought I had put my Best Dressed of the Year list to wrap, but with every event the stars continue to bring it. I appreciate that immensely since we have been deprived of so many big red carpets this year. I am hoping that the stars who we will see this weekend at the American Music Awards will bring the drama, glamour, and couture. The looks featured in today’s wishes all could be be real Best Dressed contenders. Ariana Grande is nominated, with Lady Gaga, for three American Music Awards. I would honestly be surprised if Ari doesn’t perform this weekend with her new album just dropping and all. I feel like her style is finally starting to mature and evolve so I am very interested in seeing what this years red carpet will bring. I saw this Jean Louis Sebaj Fall 2020 Couture empire waist bubble hem high low gown which features a black tulle over to an iridescent silk under-layer and immediately knew I would love to see Ariana bring it to life on the red carpet at the American Music Awards. It is a major glam moment that I feel is a perfect bridge moment for Ari. It is sexy yet a frothy voluminous look. I would love to see Ariana style this gown with a sleek braided high bun updo, smokey eyes, dark antique rose pink lips, black Casadei ‘Flora Folies Bergere’ mesh peep toe platform mary-jane pumps, and a selection of Butani jewels including a pair of  simple two row pear cut white diamond drop earrings and a statement 12 carat oval opal cocktail ring. It would definitely make a major red carpet moment for Ariana.  Dua Lipa announced the nominees for the 2020 American Music Awards, is nominated for two, and will be performing her latest single “Levitating. I have long been a fan of Dua, her music, and her style. When it came to what I wanted to see from Dua on this red carpet I had many options, but ultimately decided that since I didn’t use this sheer crystal chandelier strapless Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture tea length gown which features a plunging sweetheart neckline and a think silver belted waist for my hostess wishes for Taraji P. Henson that I wanted it to be Dua to bring this dress to life. I really want to see this dress worn. I feel like Dua knows how to bring sexy glamour to life on the red carpet. That is exactly what this gown is. To really make this look major glam from head to toe I would love to see Dua style this look with a sleek updo, black and silver glitter smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of silver crystal embellished PVC Aquazzura ‘Heaven’ pointed toe slingback pumps, and major white diamond and grey spinel Nikos Koulis ‘Universe Line’ double circle earrings. I don’t know anything about Gabby Barrett’s style aside from the seafoam Talbot Runhof caped gown she wore for the CMA Awards last week. We got to know Gabby as she made it to third place on American Idol Season. I’ve always said that the runners up do better than the winners from American Idol. Gabby finds herself nominated for Favorite Female Artist – Country at this years American Music Awards alongside country hit-makers Miranda Lambert & Maren Morris. After that chic caped moment I decided that I wanted to put some wish energy out into the universe for her to wear on this red carpet if she makes the jaunt to Hollywood. I LOVE this one shoulder red Jovani bow detailed mermaid gown with a peplum waist for her. I had to keep in mind that Gabby has a growing baby bump, but I feel like this look would be a super chic maternity moment for her to bring to life. A sleek updo, defined eyes, dark pink lips, red crystal embellished Via Spiga ‘V-Nora2’ strappy pumps, and a pair of Atelier Swarovski ‘Lola’ lab created white diamond and ruby tear drop earrings would definitely pull this looks together perfectly.Maluma will be performing “Pa’ Ti + Lonely” with JLo from the soundtrack of their upcoming film, Marry Me. When it comes to fashion Maluma knows how to bring some high fashion moments to the red carpet. Now that being said he wore a cartoonish look he wore for the EMA’s earlier this month was not one of his finer moments. I would love to see him redeem himself at the VMA’s wearing this baby pink Versace Spring 2021 RTW oversized tuxedo which features which features a crystal starfish boutonniere, tank top undershirt, and a tonal pink belt in lieu of a cummerbund. I love this suit and white I would love a more tailored version for myself I can definitely picture the whole thing as presented on Maluma. The look is cool so I would love to see this look styled with a pair of light pink and silver Adidas by Raf Simons x Ozweego ‘Mirrored – Clear Pink’ chunky sneakers, silver mirrored lens and white acrylic Versace tiny angled sunglasses, and a white diamond Norman Silverman round cut straight line necklace set in 18K white gold. Finishing out today are some looks I really grappled with. Regular readers will know that since the whole China debacle I have pretty much made If I Was A Stylist a Dolce & Gabbana free zone. I don’t respect the brand anymore. But that being said, the brand got a new VIP PR guy earlier this year and they have made a huge resurgence on the red carpet. So it is inevitable that we will see Dolce on the red carpet. I will never go immediately to a look from Dolce, but when I haven’t felt the spark click with anything else I will look at looks from the Italian fashion house. That is what happened when I was looking at looks for Favorite Female Artist – Latin nominee Rosalia. I don’t know if we will even see her on this red carpet, but if we do I think she would look phenomenal wearing this deep rose red Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Fall 2020 red chiffon gown which featured a corseted bodice, thick straps, bodysuit, a hip high split, and a dramatic train. It is a super glamorous and sexy moment and I feel like it would definitely let Rosalia deliver a major confident glam moment. Style it with old Hollywood waves worn over one shoulder, defined eyes, matching red lips, a pair of red Pollini gold crystal trimmed ankle strap suede sandals, and statement David Webb ‘Spoil Her’ chandelier earrings which features oval and pear-shaped cabochon rubies, brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18K gold and platinum and it would be a major glamour moment for her to bring to the red carpet. I also picked an “inside” look that is shorter and easier to get around in with this sheer black embroidered lace Dolce & Gabbana crystal chandelier fringe embellished cami strapped sheath dress. This dress is definitely more of the classic Dolce look we are used to seeing. I would swap the red carpet styling for thick bouncy retro curls, defined eyes, red lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘Galativi P Strass 100’ pointed toe mesh paneled pumps, and a pair of super chic David Webb ‘Twilight’ carved rock crystal, brilliant-cut diamond, and carved black onyx chandelier earrings set in 18K white gold to make this look super chic as well.

The 2020 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday November 22, 2020. Check out all of my wishes for this red carpet here.

2020 E! People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards are nearing closer and closer. I am really interested in seeing what this event will end up looking like. We are expecting many great names to make appearances. The nominees, presenters, and performers give me hope we are in store for some super chic moments. It does sound like there will actually be a socially distanced red carpet! So check out some of the looks I want to see stars bring the looks to life on the red carpet. Ariana Grande is nominated for SIX People’s Choice Awards and with a new album out I would love to see her on the red carpet Sunday night. We haven’t seen Ari really make a public appearance since the start of the pandemic aside from a quick appearance during the VMAs performing with Lady Gaga. So this would be a great time for Gaga to bring the fashion to the red carpet. I knew immediately who I would love to see Ari step out wearing this black and lime Georges Hobeika Spring 2021 RTE ensemble which features a beaded under bodice, feathered cuffs on 3/4 length sleeves, and a mini feathered skater skirt. It make such a statement and I feel like it is in tune with the more grown approach to dressing that Ari seems to be taking. Now to make it more Ari I would ditch the white collar that the look was paired with for the lookbook. I would make this look even more Ariana-fied styling it with a sleek ponytail, thick winged cat eyes, glossy antique rose pink lips, black suede Christian Louboutin ‘Study’ over the knee boots with silver rounded studs on the block heel, and a pair of Norman Silverman multi-cut white diamond earcrawlers. I know all together this look could be a really major moment. After sweeping the Emmy’s I would imagine that Dan Levy is poised to take home several People’s Choice Awards this year. Dan really has become a true fashion guy rocking custom and off the runway looks from brands like Valentino, Gucci, and Thom Browne. For this weekends PCA’s I would love to see Dan continue to shun the traditional suit instead opting for this black Versace Spring 2021 RTW take on the tuxedo which features a peak lapel sleeveless oversized vest like tuxedo jacket embellished with a red crystal starfish boutonniere, a sleeveless white button down, and below the knee length shorts. It’s a risky look for sure, but I feel like Dan has the fashion chops to really make this look. Honestly I thought about changing up the styling, but I love the idea of him wearing the white logo tube socks with the black patent leather loafers with the gold medusa crest on them. I feel like on on most I wouldn’t, but I really think that Dan would sell it to me.  All I would do to this look is add a pair of black and gold Versace ‘V-Vintage’ aviator sunglasses. We are sure to see the always stunning Jennifer Lopez on Sunday night since she is being honored with the People’s Icon of 2020 award. If you are a regular reader you will know that I am always excited to see Mrs. Lopez on a red carpet and this is no different. Since she is receiving the Icon award I felt like I had to go Atelier Versace to pick the perfect fashion moment for her to wear to accept. I was definitely in love with this black chiffon and gunmetal sequined jumpsuit from the Atelier Versace Fall 2020 Couture collection which features a plunging neckline, a criss-cross waist, and sheer bell bottom pants the moment I saw it and I think that Jennifer would shut it down. Its a disco glam moment so I would style it with a sleek high ponytail, smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, a pair of black patent leather Christian Louboutin ‘Round Chick Alta 150’ peep toe platform half d’Orsay ankle strap pumps, and Anabela Chan black diamond ‘Shard’ drop earrings to really make it scream sexy glam from head to toe. When it comes to style Miley Cyrus has had a major year. She’s given us looks from Mugler and Alexandre Vauthier that I feel like have Best Dressed of the Year worthy potential. She is the first person to be able to sell me on the glam grunge mullet and for that I applaud her. I wasn’t a fan at first, but I have definitely gotten more and more into it. Should she take to the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, where she is nominated for Female Artist of the Year I would love to see her rock this super sexy Monot Spring 2021 RTW asymmetric draped silk gown. I feel like this look definitely speaks to the super sexy, edgy, glam, grunge, punk thing that Miley has been delivering every time she makes a red carpet appearance. Now what would really make this look a major moment would be styling it with that glam grunge mullet, defined eyes, bold matte red lips, statement Azalea Wang ‘Turn Me On With Just A Touch’ rhinestone fringe trimmed thigh high lace up pointed open toe stiletto sandal boots, and a pair of major white diamond Yeprem ‘Big Bang’ starburst cluster earrings. Finishing out this list is a look that isn’t a typical look that I would pick for the People’s Choice Awards, but when Tracee Ellis Ross is being honored with the Fashion Icon Award I had to go big. I have been a huge fan of Tracee’s for a while now. She isn’t afraid to go big and bold, which is why I imagine she’s being honored as a Fashion Icon. I really didn’t have to think to hard about what I wanted to see her wear. I wanted statement making drama and that is exactly what this lime green, bubblegum pink, electric blue, tangerine orange, navy blue, and fire engine red Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture color blocked gown delivers. From the beaded column gown (which I would want lined for Tracee) to the major voluminous silk faille parachute cape this look delivers statement drama. Now if you think I would keep the styling of this look simple for Tracee you would be WRONG. Instead I would LOVE to see her go for it styling this gown with a a sleek center parted low bun, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of red crystal embellished Amina Muaddi ‘Karma’ criss-cross strap pointed toe pumps, and statement David Morris ‘Golden Drape’ earrings which features elongated turquoise drops, cabochon pear-shaped emerald, and brilliant-cut white diamonds set in hammered 18K gold and platinum. For most I would say that this is too much, but if anyone could sell this whole moment to me it would be Tracee.

The 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards will take place on Sunday November 15, 2020.

2020 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List

Tomorrow night are the 2020 pandemic version of the Billboard Music Awards. The awards are finally happening, in a virtual event, after being postponed earlier this year. I don’t know what to expect, but there are some major names in the list of nominees and performers so I hope to see a lot of these stars over the course of the telecast tomorrow night. Check out some of the absolutely major moments I want to see these stars rock tomorrow night for the virtual “red carpet” and let me know which are your favorites and which ones you most want to see brought to life.

Fall 2020 Couture Round Up Red Carpet Wish List

Couture this season was VERY different. We saw designers tackle moving presentation digitally in vastly different ways. Dior did a short video editorial and showcased petite mains work on miniatures. Hobeika recorded a show without an audience from his home in Lebanon. Ralph & Russo showed a mix of in person shot lookbook, a digital spokesmodel, and sketches. And most showed smaller paired down collections shot in lookbooks. I would love to see many of these looks on the red carpet so I am hoping that we start seeing red carpets return soon. Two seasons worth of looks are already headed to the archives without being worn. So check out the 61 wishes below I would love to see brought to life on the red carpet from the Fall 2020 Couture collections.

2020 Cannes Film Festival What Could Have Been Wish List: “Shake Your Cares Away”

In a submission from Israel Tom Shoval’s second film Shake Your Cares Away, starring Berenice Bejo as a woman who decides to convert her luxury home into a refuge for the needy following the death of her multimillionaire husband, was also vying for a Cannes splash according to Screen Daily. Berenice Bejo is a fixture in Cannes and this is the second of three films that she was rumored to have in consideration for selection for this years festival. I do love her fun take on effortless French glamour on the red carpet, and I would have loved seeing her on the Cannes red carpets this year. To promote Shake Your Cares Away I picked two superb couture moments for Berenice to bring to life. For the photocall I went into the Alexis Mabille archives. In the past Berenice has worn Alexis Mabille with great aplomb so picking this ruby and lipstick red ensemble from his Fall 2014 Couture collection which features a lipstick red lace blouse with a split cape sleeve and ruby red high waisted wide leg pants trimmed in lipstick red silk ribbon on the waist, down the side, and on the cuff was an way choice for me. This has always been a look I’ve wanted to see on the red carpet and I think that Berenice has the effortless vibe to really make it work for a Cannes Film Festival photocall. The look oozes effortless meets high French elegance and I know that Berenice would bring it to life perfectly with a loose wavy bob, defined eyes, ruby red lips, a pair of bespoke deep red suede Paul Andrew crocodile leather cap pointed toe pumps, and Chopard ‘Happy Hearts’ red stone and white diamond dome stud earrings. For the premiere I went to Schiaparelli which is another of my favorite French couture houses. I LOVE this nude silk one shoulder column gown from the Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture collection which features a structured draped wave detail on the shoulder. I love it so much this is the third iteration of it I have wanted to see. The first was as presented for Cate Blanchett, the second was custom made in shocking pink for Adut Akech, and for Berenice I want to see this gown custom made in champagne gold lamé. I think this gown in that custom metallic gold would be that super regal moment I am always craving to see Berenice bring to life on the red carpet. With the gown being such a statement all on its own I would keep the styling sleek and complimentary with a sleek side parted low bun updo, thick defined eyes, ruby red lips, a gold beaded Corto Moltedo ‘Susan C Star Golden Eye’ clutch for some texture, a pair of iridescent champagne gold crystal embellished Rene Caovilla strappy sandals, and Chopard Green Carpet Collection ‘Palme Verte’ 18k fairmined gold wreath earrings. I think that the red carpet moments I feel most deprived of because of the Cannes Corona Cancellation are from Elle Fanning. The actress and L’Oreal Paris spokesmodel always delivers her best fashion moments on a film festival red carpet and Cannes holds many of her personal best moments. I went left of all the expected labels for both of the gowns I wanted to see Elle wear in Cannes this year. First it was the Azzi & Osta gown, and now it’s this major yellow gold and pink lamé Georges Hobeika Spring 2020 Couture off the shoulder ball gown which features a dramatic cape and a pleated skirt. I definitely think that this is the regal princess moment that Elle knows how to deliver with effortless ease on the red carpet and would undoubtedly been on my Best of Cannes list. A sleek retro updo, defined eyes, pink lips to match the flowers in the print, a pair of gold to silver ombre glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pointed toe pumps, and dazzling Chopard “Temptations” collection earrings set with 2 pear shaped kunzites, white diamonds, amethysts, paraiba tourmalines, rubies, tsavorites, and pastel pink sapphires would have all made this look modern princess glam from head to toe. When I think about regal elegance in Cannes Chinese actress Gong Li definitely pops into my mind. She has delivered several super elegant moments on the festivals red carpets over the years as a spokesmodel for L’Oreal Paris. I wanted her to deliver another major regal elegant moment on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals again this year with this black velvet Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture column gown embellished with metallic gold and smoked topaz stones which features an asymmetric sleeve edged in metallic chain tassels and complimented by Swarovski spheres. I am shocked that someone like Angelina Jolie hasn’t snatched this gown up to promote any of her film projects since it came down the runway almost two and a half years ago, but it has left someone with a major moment just waiting to happen. Gong Li has the elegance to really make this nior glam moment come to life on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet styled with a sleek side parted retro updo, thick winged eyes, bold fire engine red matte lips, a pair of black mesh Tom Ford leather trimmed pointed toe slingback pumps with a gold heel, and a pair of vintage Chopard 18k yellow gold, white diamond, and citrine chandelier earrings.

2020 Cannes Film Festival What Could Have Been Wish List: “Bergman Island”

In today’s “What Could Have Been” wish list we are talking about a semi-autobiographical drama about a film making couple who retreat to Ingmar Bergman’s resting place in order to write their next scripts and then slowly lose sight of the line between fiction and reality. Mia Hansen-Løve’s Bergman Island has been at the top of Indiewire’s “most anticipated” list since the project was first announced with Greta Gerwig in the lead role. The film, which Hansen-Løve described to IndieWire as a story about “how film tends to replace my memories of what really happened,” has the potential to be something of a crossover arthouse hit for one of modern cinema’s most consistently brilliant auteurs, whose previous work (such as Eden, Things to Come, and Goodbye First Love) has found deep American fan bases despite limited distribution. Shot in two parts and co-starring Mia Wasikowska, Anders Danielsen Lie, Tim Roth, and Vicky Krieps, Bergman Island finally wrapped filming in the middle of the last summer. Given the project’s high profile and its connection to one of European cinema’s greatest titans, this would be a natural (if long overdue) opportunity to let Hansen-Løve graduate from the sidebars and invite her into the main Competition at Cannes. When Mia Wasikowska made her major red carpet debut at the London premiere of Alice In Wonderland wearing a major Valentino Haute Couture ball gown I got really excited about the birth of a new fashionista. It hasn’t exactly come to fruition the way I was expecting. She is definitely a fashionista, but often time she doesn’t breathe a whole lot of life into the looks she wears on the red carpet. For the Bergman Island photocall in Cannes I decided to go for bight colors with this lemon peel yellow and sorbet lime Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2020 midi dress which features origami cap sleeves, an angular neckline, center split, and mid calf length. This dress super chic and definitely ready for the ocean front balcony that photocalls are held at. I would let this look be super effortless with a loose wavy bob, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and a pair of simple nude Aquazzura ‘Deneuve’ suede pointed toe pumps. For the films premiere I decided to stick with the effortless vibes, but upping the glam factor with this nude Armani Prive Fall 2019 Couture strapless which features a nude satin column gown embroidered with bead and a pearl embellishments overlaid with a crystal embellished pleated tulle layer which turns into a sweeping train. I wouldn’t normally pick a nude gown for Mia as she doesn’t like to do a while lot with makeup and accessories, but this gown just spoke to me as the perfect effortless moment for her and so I had to stick to my gut. Now that being said I would style the look simply, but in a manner that really elevates the fashion moment with a loose curly romantic updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, a pair of crystal embellished nude suede Vera Brezhneva x Aquazzura ‘Very Vera’ ankle strap sandals, and a pop of color via 18k gold set emerald and white diamond Bulgari High Jewelry drop earrings. It would make for a super effortlessly glamorous moment for Mia to bring to life on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. I took note of Vicky Krieps a couple of years ago when she wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen strapless bustier lace a-line gown for the premiere of Phantom Thread. So when I saw her name in the billing for Bergman Island I was intrigued. She has that effortless French elegance and tends to stick to labels shown at Paris Fashion Week. So I decided to pick two looks from labels Vicky has favored for red carpets in the past. For the films photocall I went for a classic suiting moment from the Alexander McQueen Resort 2020 collection in bold hot pink. It is definitely a super chic moment and one that would definitely allow for Vicky to catch the eye of the international fashion media. Now while the lookbook was styled with chunky necklaces, no blouse, and white sneakers I would up the glamour instead styling this suit with a white silk Alexander McQueen pussy bow shirt and statement fuchsia and hot pink satin Roger Vivier beaded detail 3D floral appliqued pointed toe pumps. Finishing the look with a loose causal updo, defined eyes, and soft pink lips would definitely make this a perfect photocall moment for Vicky. Now for the premiere I went with something a little more unexpected than we are used to seeing on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, a tea length gown. Chanel has been very nice to Vicky over the years lending her looks for red carpets like the Deauville American Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival so I turned to the label for her premiere look. I do love this strapless navvy 3D floral embroidered tea length gown from the Chanel Spring 2020 Couture collection. It was one of the only looks from the collection that got me really excited for a potential red carpet moment. Now I definitely see this as a look destined for Keira Knightley, but I feel like for Vicky this would be a superb fashion moment for her to wear for her big premiere at the festival especially if styled with a sleek side parted chignon updo, defined eyes, punchy pink lips, a pair of black Roger Vivier ‘Marlene’ strass ball detailed ankle strap sandals, and a statement Chanel Haute Jewelry ‘1932’ white diamond layered fringe collar necklace. Given all the drama surrounding Amber Heard I am not sure the L’Orealista would even be in Cannes this year. I have been up and down with my love of Amber on the red carpet, but I always have high hopes that she will be on tip top form. I think that would definitely be the case if we were to see her take to the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals wearing this black feathered Christian Dior Fall 2019 Couture ball gown which features an embroidered tulle sweetheart neckline bustier and a single one shoulder tulle strap. This look was one of my favorite looks to come down the Fall 2019 Couture runways and it definitely needs an international red carpet. I think that Amber would make this gown that major moment I know it could be. Style it with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, bold red lips, black suede Jimmy Choo ‘Mimi’ strappy sandals, and a selection of major de Grisogono jewels including rubellite and cylindrical cut onyx pendant drop earrings and a statement matching rubellite and eight cylindrical cut onyx cocktail ring and I know that Amber would definitely be on top of her style game. Soo Joo Park has a very eclectic sense of style and I always look forward to seeing what she will bring to the red carpet. So when I was thinking of what we could see her bring to life on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet to represent festival sponsor L’Oreal Paris. So I went to the absurd side of glamour picking this back Schiaparelli Fall 2020 RTW ballgown which features a stretch leather bodysuit with embossed bone effect and a faille skirt with elasticated waistband. It isn’t something we would typically expect to see on a red carpet, especially not in Cannes, but I feel like Soo Joo would definitely make this gown fit in perfectly with the yards of tulle and literal tons of crystal beading. A chic updo, thick defined eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Catia’ strappy sandals, and a gorgeous white diamond and emerald de Grisogono spiral collar necklace would make this a major style moment for Soo Joo to bring to life.

2020 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 30

The looks in today’s set of wishes are major. I always say the answer to picking the perfect Met Gala fashion moment is go big or go home. That is exactly what I did when picking the looks for Aja Naomi King, Naomi Scott, Lucy Liu, and Rowan Blanchard; oh and there is a super chic white tie moment for Henry Golding. Each of these looks is perfectly indicative of each label and all would be superb moments to see on this years red carpet. Aja Naomi King made her Met Gala debut in 2016, but hasn’t been on the red carpet since. Now she is a L’Oreal Paris spokesmodel and I feel like it’s about time she got her second appearance on the famed Met steps. What kills me about Aja on the red carpet is the fact that I know she has so much potential, but rarely lives up to it. For this years Met Gala red carpet I want to see Aja turn to Christopher John Rogers. I really want to see the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner deliver major moments on the Met steps this year. For Aja I would love to see Christopher create a custom gown that is a hybrid of two looks from the Christopher John Rogers Fall 2020 RTW collection. Taking the red lamé asymmetrical peplum cocktail dress which features a plunging neckline and layering it over the black and silver crystal embellished column skirt from the strapless column gown. Each look on their own isn’t right for the Met Gala red carpet, but combined I know this look would be superb. A chignon afro puff updo, smokey eyes with a hint of emerald, dark rose pink lips, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong Stardust’ crystal embellished ankle strap sandals, and statement Amrapali emerald and white diamond teardrop pendant earrings would definitely make this a major moment for Aja to wear on the Met Gala red carpet. Henry Golding was introduced to us about 2 year ago now when he stared in the hit film Crazy Rich Asians back to back with the Blake Lively/Anna Kendrick drama A Simple Favor. He made his Met Gala red carpet debut last year taking a risk in custom Atelier Versace. It was a risk that almost paid off. I appreciate that Henry is willing to take some risks with fashion, but for this years Met Gala I decided I wanted to see him bring perfect classic glamour to this red carpet. This classic cut white tie Ralph Lauren Fall 2020 Menswear tailcoat tuxedo is the epitome of timeless elegance for menswear and when fitted perfectly the looks are one to take notice of. I definitely believe that Ralph would make sure this look is perfectly tailored for Henry. Now I would just add a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo Orlatio’ paillette sequin embellished oxfords to add a subtle hint of dazzle to this look. Over the years Lucy Liu has only walked 2 Met Gala red carpets. That honestly surprises me as she is quite the fashionista. While we don’t see Lucy on the red carpets often when she does the looks are always top notch. In fact she has one of my favorite Met Gala red carpet moments ever thanks to the purple ruffled Zac Posen gown she wore in 2007. I would love to see her attend this year as a guest of Christian Siriano. Lucy wore Siriano for the Tony Awards last year and was seated front row at his Spring 2020 RTW show last September. Never one to shy away from drama for the red carpet I thought Lucy would be the perfect person to wear this crocodile skin pattern embroidered velvet ensemble from the Christian Siriano Fall 2020 RTW collection which includes a structured high neck capelet and a strapless corseted ball gown. The look is distinctly Siriano and a modern, edgy twist on the classic ballgown. It really do think that while Lucy is quite petite that she has the presence to make this look come to life on the red carpet. While the matching hat is quite interesting for the runway I would have Lucy ditch it for the red carpet instead opting to style the gown with a sleek side parted updo, thick defined eyes, bold red lips, black glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Renee’ strappy leather sandals, and a pair of statement David Webb ‘Asheville’ earclips made in cabochon turquoise, brilliant-cut diamonds, 18K gold, and platinum. This would definitely make for a statement making moment for Lucy to wear for her Met Gala return. Naomi Scott made her Met Gala debut last year ahead of her major promo tour for Aladdin. She wore a cool Burberry crystal chain and feather embellished tunic and sleek tailored pants. It was definitely one of the cooler looks of the evening, but when there were so many major gowns it faded into the masses. I don’t want that to happen to her this year. So I turned to the illustrious Richard Quinn, who is known for making dramatic moments happen. He dressed Naomi in black latex and blue floral jacquard for the Charlies Angels premiere in London last fall and for this years Met Gala I went back to his Spring 2019 RTW collection to seek inspiration for the perfect gown for Naomi to wear. I would love to see Naomi give us modern flapper vibes wearing a custom gown inspired by this ice blue silk cocktail dress which features silver beaded embroidery and black feather embellishments. Now picture it with me. Taking this dress and lengthening it to hit the floor with the feather embellishments on silk strips made to add a dramatic train to this gown would definitely make sure that Naomi delivers the drama on the red carpet. I would love to see Naomi take this custom gown and go full flapper with it styling the gown with a fingerwave updo, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of black Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Monstera’ crystal embellished leaf sandals, and vintage 1930’s white diamond Bulgari art deco chandelier earrings. Rowan Blanchard has now hit the 18 year age requirement to attend the Met Gala. I have wanted to see the actress own this red carpet for a while. She isn’t afraid to take sartorial risks and I know that she would own this red carpet. I have been imagining her wearing this Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Couture ‘Grand Flou’ ball gown which features a multicolored “bathing suit” bustier, thin halter straps, and a huge shocking pink skirt in silk faille since it first came down the runway back in January. This gown can only work on a couple of red carpets and the Met Gala is one of those few red carpets where this look would work. While it isn’t really a “timeless” gown by any stretch of the imagination it does speak perfectly to the codes of the House of Schiaparelli. Finishing this look with a sleek retro inspired updo, defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of metallic pink Gucci chunky peep toe platform sandals, and white diamond Hueb ‘Luminus’ starburst cluster earrings would definitely make this a major Met Gala debut moment for Rowan.
