15 Looks From Milan Fashion Week Spring 2019 I Want To See On The Red Carpet

Milan Fashion Week ended almost two and a half weeks ago, but I have just been so busy that I haven’t had a chance to get my 15 favorite looks that I want to see on the red carpet list out there. These posts take a lot of time not just because I have to go through all of the collections and narrow down all the looks down to just 15 but have to research the collections and then pick who I want to see wearing the looks on the red carpet. Over the course of Milan Fashion Week I saved over 350 looks that I think have red carpet potential. These looks cover everything from major gowns to cocktail moments to chic casual looks for press events to edgy performance looks. I went through all of those collections and narrowed them down to the following 15. These are the looks from Milan Fashion Week – Spring 2019 that I want to see on a red carpet.Attico: One of the brands that I have loved watching grow over the last year is Attico. It is one of the chicest, very Italian brands who deliver very wearable glamour in their collections. For Spring 2019 RTW the collection was a major love letter to the 80’s and I definitely think we will see many looks from he collection on the red carpet. Over the last year stars have really embraced the brand for cocktail and press appearances. In fact Olga Kurylenko has already brought a feathered buster and leather cargo pants ensemble from the brands Spring 2019 RTW collection to life for the London premiere of Jenny English Strikes Again. I went for more a simple look from this collection for Jennifer Lopez with this lilac and orange creamsicle fluid pois jacquard ‘Pat’ dress which features puff shoulders, faux wrap style, a v-neckline, a tie detail at waist, and embellished shoulder details. This dress is very chic and wearable and if JLo rocked this for a press stop during her upcoming movie promo tour I think it would be perfection.

Dolce & Gabbana: In the wake of Stefano Gabbana calling Selena Gomez, whom Dolce & Gabbana had dressed several times over the years, ugly it seemed like the Time’s Up movement was going to really push a boycott of the brand. However since the brand is such a fashion powerhouse I don’t think is going to stop stars from wearing the brand on the red carpet. In fact Cardi B just wore a dramatic gown from this collection on the red carpet at the American Music Awards. Aside from that Domenico & Stefano showed a collection that really embraced all of the codes that they have infused into the brands DNA over the last 33 years. The show was a celebration of women, a diverse group of women. There were women of different sizes, every color, and many age groups. It was actually really beautiful. The moment I saw this blue and natural sleeveless mixed-fringe midi dress which features contrasting rows of fringe and tassels throughout, a midi length, and a column silhouette I pictured it being rocked by Amal Clooney as she is spotted headed out on a date night with George.

Emporio Armani: I usually wouldn’t pay much attention to Emporio Armani, but with bold colors and sparkling embellishments my inner magpie was drawn to this collection. This faction of the Armani brand is usually geared towards a younger crowd and I really think that there are quite a few looks that young Hollywood stars will want to fight over. I think that if anyone could really make this electric lime green and royal blue strapless jumpsuit which features intricate sequin and feathered embroidery and I definitely think it would be Halsey.Ermanno Scervino: When you look at an Ermanno Scervino collection you know you are going to get two things volume and glamour. The brand is known for those and doesn’t veer from that very often. While you don’t get boundary pushing designs like you can find at other Milan based brands like Marni, Prada, or Gucci you know that there will be great red carpet options from Ermanno Scervino. Orange is a huge trend for Spring 2019 RTW and I think that Jasmine Sanders would be the perfect person to bring this Ermanno Scervino Spring 2019 RTW orange tea length gown which features a strapless sweetheart neckline and dramatic ruffles offering of the trend to life on the red carpet.

Etro: While Etro is a very successful brand when it comes to sales they don’t often get a whole lot of red carpet love. The brand, known for bold eccentric prints, doesn’t focus on celebrities to influence sales likes some other brands so when they do end up on a red carpet I get very excited. There aren’t a whole lot of looks from the Etro Spring 2019 RTW collection that I think could be red carpet looks, but this black white and yellow floral print one shoulder gown is definitely one that I think could be really chic. I think that if anyone could really make this look work, probably on one of the more causal party red carpets, it would be supermodel turned actress Suki Waterhouse.

Fausto Puglisi: In an off season from showing a runway show Fausto Puglisi showed an 80’s Flashdance inspired collection in a presentation/lookbook. The collection was very much repetitive, but it is definitely something that I think many music stars will be drawn to. While I typically pick red carpet looks for this list it was this cape meets letterman jacket and color blocked swimsuit that really spoke to me from this collection. I immediately pictured Rita Ora rocking this look for one of her many performances. Giorgio Armani: I wasn’t thrilled with the Giorgio Armani Spring 2019 RTW. I was hoping for really amazing things, but I was rather underwhelmed with what Mr. Armani sent down the runway. The fit of the collection overall was terrible and the color palette reminded me of a Dixie disposable cup. I do however want to thee this Monet ‘Waterlilies’ inspired print beaded fringe cap sleeve jumpsuit which features a plunging v-neckline, and cutout sides and back on the red carpet and wouldn’t supermodel Karolina Kurkova just really deliver this look with ease on the red carpet?

Marni: Marni is one of the rarest brands on this list to see on the red carpet. It used to be a favorite of Anna Wintour, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Carey Mulligan. It had a hit H&M collaboration. But we don’t often see the brand on the red carpet anymore. I will say there weren’t too many looks from the Spring 2019 RTW collection that I think have what it takes to make a really chic red carpet moment (plenty of items that can be incorporated into your personal wardrobe though,) but this neutral canvas sleeveless midi dress which features a ruched exaggerated waist, a gathered a-line skirt, and blue hand-painted floral detail throughout made Keira Knightley pop into my mind. It could be a really chic press look while she is out promoting The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

Missoni: In the last year we have seen a revitalized celebrity love of Milan based knitwear brand Missoni on the red carpet. The brand has been back to more creative looks than just reinventing its signature multicolored zig zag print over and over again. It’s almost like the brand has gone through a bit of a renaissance again. While incredibly easy to wear knits were the focus of the brands Spring 2019 RTW collection there were a handful of looks that I could definitely see celebrity stylists vying to get their hands on. One of those looks was this slate blue sheer halter gown which features layers of metallic knit layers. This is a very easy glam moment and the moment I saw it I immediately thought it would be something that Zoe Saldana would be drawn to. Moschino: There was a bit of controversy surrounding Jeremy Scott’s Spring 2019 Collection for Moschino. Edda Gimnes, a Norwegian womenswear designer based in London, accused Scott to taking un-credited inspiration from one of her collections that heavily featured a marker print as did this collection, but I have to say that the kitschy (campy) spirit of this print is something that has been in the Moschino archive for many years. He gave several examples of this technique in his defense including a Moschino ad campaign from 1986 and a jacket (similar to the one shown above) shown in the Moschino Spring 1992 collection. I loved the major artist doodle pad meets Pretty Woman vibe that was given in this collection. Jeremy is one of the masters, and I definitely think that the MET Museum picked wrong in its choice of designer co-chairs for next years MET Gala. The show started strong with the black and white trompe-l’œil print crepe suit which features a bow front blazer and a pair of tapered pants and just continued to deliver hit look after hit look. I was taken with that suit because it seemed to be the perfect meshing of the brands signature camp and a sense of wearability and I definitely think that it is something that Evan Rachel Wood would rock on a red carpet. No one does a suit on a red carpet quite like ERW.

No. 21: Every season I always find one look from No. 21 to feature on my lists. I love the brand. From the chic clothing it creates to amazing iconic accessories I just think that the brand exudes wearable glamour. I also feel like the brand is totally underrated when it comes to the red carpet. It has attracted the likes of Constance Wu, Dakota Fanning, Diane Kruger, and Jessica Chastain in the last year or so. I want to see stars snatch up looks from the Spring 2019 RTW collection including this sequin fringe ‘Anne’ dress features a sleeveless knit dress underneath an embellished outer layer with a fitted silhouette which I definitely think Amber Heard should snatch up for press appearances for Aquaman.

Roberto Cavalli: I was less than impressed with Paul Surridge’s debut as the Roberto Cavalli creative director a year ago. He just didn’t seem to have that same sense of sex and flash that is at the core of the Cavalli DNA, but considering some of the couture gowns he’s created for Olivia Wilde, Sara Sampaio, Joan Smalls, and Alessandra Ambrosio in addition to his Resort 2019 collection I think that he could have a place at the house, he just has a steep learning curve to live up to the likes of Mr. Cavalli himself and even former creative director Peter Dundas. I do believe that he did a better job of balancing his tailoring experience with the hyper sexuality of the Cavalli woman this season. I actually want to see several of the looks from this collection on the red carpet and I definitely think that Olivia Wilde would take this terracotta colored long sleeve midi dress which features a sheer long sleeve beaded bodice with a plunging neckline and a ruched a-line midi skirt and make it a really chic red carpet moment. Is it the sexy mini dresses that Surridge also presented in this collection? No, but I still think that it defines the Cavalli woman. Salvatore Ferragamo: Like the new Cavalli creative director I was less than enthused with Paul Andrew’s (the shoe designer whose eponymous line I LOVE) debut at Salvatore Ferragamo back in February, but now he has had a look on both my Best of Resort 2019 and my Best of Milan Fashion Week Spring 2019 lists. The collections have gotten stronger and stronger. There were several looks from his newest collection that I think are destined for casual events like press interviews and then gowns that are perfect for gala’s. I think that for one of the more edgier, “artistic” galas that Olivia Munn would rock this suede macramé dress layered over indocina silk slip dress features a sleeveless body with a straight, fitted silhouette and full length with fringe hem. It is edgy and glamorous and I definitely think with her inherent sex appeal that Olivia radiates on the red carpet would really ensure this look is perfection.

Sportmax: I don’t usually bother looking at Sportmax collection typically. The looks that the brand send down the runway aren’t typically what I feature here on If I Was A Stylist, but something told me to check out this seasons collection. I’m glad I did. The brand had more of a dazzling air to it this season compared to the more day to day sportswear vibe we typically see from the brand. I fell in love with this silver and blue ‘Ciriaco’ dress designed with slits on both sides, sequin detailing throughout, a haltered neckline, and a midi length hem the moment I saw it. Is it anything really innovative or boundary pushing when it comes to style? No, but it is just a fun dazzling party look that I think would be perfect for Tiffany Haddish.

Vionnet: Finishing out this list is the always beautiful Vionnet. The label established in 1912 and revitalized in 2009 has been one of the brands that I feel is very underrated. When it first relaunched it was a celeb favorite, but in recent years that love has waned. I want to see the brand, which has been working at becoming a leader in sustainable luxury, have a resurgence as a celebrity favorite. It isn’t one of the edgy boundary pushing labels that we typically see on the fashion week circuit, but I think that the glamorous draping is perfect for the red carpet. It has been a hot minute but Naomie Harris was a fan of Vionnet and I definitely think that she would be the perfect person to bring this beige and hot pink tulle draped gown which features a silver waistband, plunging v-neckline, and a sheer skirt to life on a red carpet.

So there you have it my 15 favorite looks that came down the Milan Fashion Week runways for Spring 2019 RTW. Which ones do you want to see on the red carpet and who do you want to see bring it to life?

2018 Teen Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 7

We are gearing up for the first major red carpet in a very busy month with the 2018 Teen Choice Awards. August starts off with some big pop culture red carpets like the Teen Choice Awards and the VMA’s and then starts fall film festival season with the opening of the Venice Film Festival. It is pretty much wall to wall glamour from here on out. The red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards is probably the most casual event of the month and I have to say I am really excited to see what all of the stars will bring to the red carpet. Anna Kendrick is nominated for Choice Comedic Movie Actress for her performance in Pitch Perfect 3 and Choice Twit and will also be one of the many presenters of the night. I had originally decided that I wasn’t going to pick a look for Anna because despite the fact that she is nominated I didn’t expect that we would see her on this red carpet. But since she is presenting, and has a movie coming out, I guess it does make sense. This surprisingly the first time that Anna will make an appearance at the show. I wanted something really chic and very summery for Anna to bring to this red carpet so I felt like this black and white draped Vionnet Resort 2019 wrap style dress which features a notch lapels, short sleeves, and a purple ribbon tie on the hip would be a real perfect moment for her to bring to this red carpet. I think that with easy waves, defined eyes, rose pink lips, and a pair of lilac Salvatore Ferragamo ‘Foulard’ patent leather sandals all would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Last year Halsey was nominated for three Teen Choice Awards including Choice Breakout Artist, unfortunately she lost all three and didn’t end up attending the ceremony. This year she is only nominated for Choice Song: Female Artist for “Bad At Love” and I would love to see the singer rock the red carpet at this years red carpet wearing this black Fausto Puglisi Resort 2019 skater dress which features a plunging neckline, a gold embellishment detailed and leather waist, and a mini length. This is a sexy and statement making moment and I think that Halsey would definitely own this look on the red carpet. I went through many different shoe options to pair with this look, but I ultimately thought that a pair of antique gold Casadei crossover strap platform sandals would be perfect to compliment this dress for this red carpet. A short punky hairstyle, smokey eyes, and rose pink lips all would really make sure that this is an absolutely chic and sexy moment for Halsey to bring to this red carpet. As I have gone through my wishes for this red carpet over the last several days I have really made my wishes known that I want to see a more elevated level of glamour on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet. I don’t know if I believe that will happen, but a guy can dream right? Maddie Ziegler is nominated for Choice Dancer for the fourth time. The very talented dancer rose to fame thanks to the Lifetime show Dance Moms. She has then been a darling of pop star Sia and has started to become a darling of the fashion industry. I would love to see Maddie bring some major flirty glamour to the red carpet wearing this blue, yellow, and white print Chanel Cruise 2019 mini dress which features ruffled shoulders and hem. I really don’t know if Maddie has earned enough fashion clout to be able to snatch one of Chanel’s newest collections right off the runway, but I do think that this is a very chic moment for Maddie and it is the fun and flirty look I think would work perfectly on this red carpet especially when paired with a sleek ponytail, defined eyes, bright pink lips, and a pair of two tone blue Alexandre Birman tied ankle strap sandals. Nina Dobrev is no stranger to the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards. She has been nominated several times and won several as well. She may not be nominated this year, but we will see her on the red carpet this year as one of the nights many presenters. In the past we have seen Nina wearing designs from Zuhair Murad, J. Mendel, Vionnet, and D&G and with her working with Kate Young as her stylist now I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to this red carpet this year. When I think of Kate’s work I don’t usually think of the Teen Choice Awards, but I think that she could help bring that elevated glamour to this red carpet that I am craving. I feel like Nina would totally rock this red carpet wearing this coastal blue denim Ralph Lauren Spring 2018 RTW acid wash cocktail dress which features a square neckline with spaghetti straps and a feather embellished skirt. It is chic and flirty while being very grown up and glamorous. It is exactly what I want to see on the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards. Add a romantic updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a silver M2malletier metallic handle clutch, and silver Aquazzura ‘Linda’ metallic sandals to really round out this look in a very modern and glamorous manner. It was last year at the Emmy Awards that I really took notice of Atlanta star Zazie Beetz on the red carpet when she wore a dramatic and eye catching Rosie Assoulin gown. Since then we have seen Zazie rock the red carpet in highly coveted designers like Valentino, Stella McCartney, and Chloe. I am very interested to see if the Choice Summer Movie Actress nominee will be on the red carpet at this years Teen Choice Awards. I went for a fun look with this baby rose pink Ulla Johnson Resort 2019 denim jumpsuit. It isn’t the same major designer moment that we have come to see from Zazie, but I think that Ulla Johnson is the perfect cool girl brand for her to bring to this red carpet. It is one of those easy yet chic looks that it would take the right attitude and styling to really make a major moment on the red carpet. I think that Zazie has the right attitude and I think that teased out curls, defined eyes, bright pink lips, and a pair of pink neon glitter Sophia Webster ‘Soleil’ ruffle detail leather sandals would add the perfect styling to this ensemble.

The 2018 Teen Choice Awards will take place on Sunday August 12, 2018.

Cannes 2018: L’Orealistas Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

The glamour of Cannes comes in part because of the lovely ladies that L’Oreal Paris sends to represent the brand on the red carpets at the festival. L’Oreal employs some of the most glamorous women (and a couple of men) in the world and invites them to the festival to help promote glamour and elegance. Last year supermodel Amber Heard brought something unexpected to the red carpet wearing an orange floral print Mulberry cocktail dress. She was the only L’Orealista to walk the red carpet at the festivals 2PM premiere slot. It was a cool moment and a great unexpected moment on the red carpet at the festival. My wishes that I have for her to wear this year I am making more of a glamour moment on the Cannes red carpets this year. I honestly thought that this light pink Atelier Versace Spring 2018 Couture draped and embellished gown was going to be worn on the festivals red carpet last year. I has really surprised me that it has been a little over a year since this gown was first presented and that it still hasn’t been worn. I feel like Amber would look beautiful wearing this glamorous gown on the red carpet. She knows how to work a gown and I think that bringing this gown to the Cannes red carpet would be one of her most dramatic moments ever. The second look I’ve chosen for Amber to rock on the red carpet is this black and gold Stella McCartney one shoulder fil coupé silk-blend chiffon gown which features a pleated bodice  and a floor-sweeping skirt which falls in tiers for volume and movement. This is another very chic gown and I think that Amber is a perfect person to bring the brand to the Cannes red carpet. This gown is glamorous, but she could make an appearance wearing a custom gown from the brand too. The final look I want to see Amber rock on this red carpet is short. Last year Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent dominated the red carpets. So many of the brands signature mini dresses were worn and it honestly became difficult to keep track of them. I am hoping that this year while I have plenty of YSL looks in my wishes that each one will be a little different than the last. I think that Amber is the perfect person to bring this black and red Saint Laurent Fall 2018 RTW long sleeve mini dress which features a draped skirt with an asymmetrical hem and a plunging neckline. It is sexy and glamorous and while I have some custom Saint Laurent gowns inspired by this collection I think that Amber would be one of the few who I think could own the red carpet in the runways mini dress. Doutzen Kroes is one that I usually have high expectations for with her red carpet looks, and more often than not I feel like I am let down. Her looks at last years festival which included custom Balmain and custom BOSS were among some of her best looks ever, and I am praying that her looks this year are just as good. Two years ago Doutzen brought (an already worn) Brandon Maxwell gown to Cannes and I went back to the brand for her to rock this year as well. While pants on ladies at the Cannes Film Festival isn’t really a norm, I think that Doutzen would be one of the few who could sell this black Brandon Maxwell Fall 2018 RTW ensemble which features a mirror pleat one shoulder sash train top and a pair of black pebble crepe flared leg pants. I really do believe that this look paired with statement earrings and sleek updo all would be another really stunning look for Doutzen to rock on the red carpet in Cannes. Following that I went a little more avant garde with this nude silk chiffon Tom Ford Spring 2018 RTW which features draped pleating, strong shoulders, a cape neck, and long sequined sleeves. Doutzen is always front row at Tom Ford shows and almost always she wears a gown, this would be a really chic moment for her to take off the runway and bring to the Cannes red carpet. Maybe she can get herself invited to the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story because this futuristic gown is perfect for the theme of that film. The final look I’ve picked for Doutzen to rock this year is another pants look, but one that reads more like a gown. Doutzen has been loving some oversized silhouettes recently and I think that this red Valentino Fall 2018 RTW strapless jumpsuit which features a pleated center and wide leg palazzo pants would definitely be something right up her ally. It might not be my favorite moment of hers, but I do believe that it is something that she would be drawn to.It surprised me last year that Freida Pinto flew into Cannes attended a casual panel conference, wearing Prabal Gurung, and flew out without making an appearance on the festivals main red carpet. She has worn some really beautiful looks in the past from designers like Gucci, Atelier Versace, Oscar de la Renta, and Michael Kors. I am really hoping that she will bring the glamour back to the Cannes Film Festival this year. I know that she can make a whole lot of glamour on the red carpet over the course of the festival. Up first in my wishes for Freida to wear this year is a pale blush one shoulder Elie Saab Spring 2018 Couture gown which features a feathered neckline, intricate floral embroidery, and a daring thigh high split. This is definitely a really sexy take on glamour and I definitely think that Freida will sell it to me on this red carpet. Something much more simply glamorous for Freida would be this black Schiaparelli Spring 2018 Couture sleeveless column gown which features a plunging neckline, silver crosshatch beading, a small peplum waist, and a tulle overlay. I feel like this is definitely a gown that we will see on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet and I do believe that Freida will make this a beautiful moment on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals. I went to another dramatic shoulder gown with this white one sleeved Vionnet Fall 2018 RTW gown which features a patch of braided plaid detail on the shoulder and sleeve. This (like the Tom Ford gown I picked for Doutzen) would be a great gown to see Freida rock on the red carpet for the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story and it gives me a little alien drama and I would just ask why not? Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana has definitely had her fair share of glamorous gowns on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, but the most dramatic moment she’s had at the festival came last year where she wore a fuchsia Alberta Ferretti gown on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals. I am hoping that she brings the glamour yet again this year. The first look is from the same designer that Isabeli wore for the Fashion For Relief Gala at last years festival, Celia Kritharioti. The Greek couturier showed a very beautiful collection for Spring 2018 Couture and I definitely think that Isabeli would be the perfect person to bring this white sleeveless column gown which features a beaded neckline, feathered bodice, and a simple skirt to life on the Cannes red carpet. This gown is rather simple, but still incredibly glamorous and if anyone could sell it to me that a supermodel would be the perfect person. Following that I went to something much more standard with this black Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Fall 2014 mermaid gown which features thick straps and a sweeping train. This gown is nothing new for sure, but it is a canvas for Isabeli to rock some really statement making jewels. And going even further back the gown I would most like to see Isabeli rock on this years red carpets is this slate blue Elie Saab Fall 2008 Couture strapless gown which features a draped taffeta bodice and a flowing chiffon skirt. Having been sitting in the Elie Saab archive for a decade now I think that this is the case of right girl right event to really make this gown come to life.Last year Natasha Poly was the date of designer Jason Wu as he attended the premiere of his good friend Diane Kruger’s film In The Fade where she wore a sleek modern glam custom BOSS gown. Over the years we have seen the Russian supermodel bring designers including (but not limited to) Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Gucci, Michael Kors, and Atelier Versace to the red carpet and I am praying that she will bring to the red carpets this year. The first gown I’ve picked for Natasha to rock in Cannes is the only designer on this list that she has worn in Cannes before, Atelier Versace. I do believe that she would be a perfect candidate to bring this bronze Atelier Versace Fall 2017 Couture caped gown which features sheer construction, intricate beading, and cutout designs to life on the red carpet. In my wish for Danai Gurira to wear this gown for the Met Gala I said “Before a model snatches this gown up and delivers it in a really tacky manner on the red carpet in Cannes I want to see Danai grab it and make it a warrior glam moment,” but if Natasha snatched this gown up I don’t believe that this gown would be tacky at all. Natasha could make the sheer detailing of this gown come across as chic and not tacky or tired which is how I would feel is most would wear this gown on the red carpet. Following that I went to a gown that just defined glamour for me with this silver Moschino Pre-Fall 2018 beaded fringe column gown which features a tank top style neckline. I don’t believe that Natasha has ever worn Moschino or Jeremy Scott on the red carpet and I do believe that this would be a really chic moment for her to make a debut in the brand. Finally I went to Stephane Rolland who has had some of his best red carpet moments in Cannes. I think a great ballgown moment would be really beautiful for Natasha and this white Stephane Rolland Spring 2018 Couture ball gown which features a cap sleeve top and a draped ball skirt with silver details would definitely be a real modern glam statement gown for her to bring to the Cannes Film Festival red carpets.

The 2018 Cannes Film Festival opens Tuesday May 8, 2018 and will run through Saturday May 19, 2018.

“A Wrinkle in Time” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

The premiere of A Wrinkle in Time will be a HUGE event. Originally I had read that the films LA premiere was going to take place the day right after the Oscars, but Disney decided to movie it up a little bit and it will kick off Oscar week taking place on Monday February 26, 2018. I feel like that was a great move. Oscar week means all the stars have descended upon Hollywood and we are highly likely to see all of the cast of the film on the red carpet, and then subsequently promote the film by attending Oscar week events all week long. I have been looking forward to this tour for a long time because the film is chock full out of strong, glamorous women and I know that they will deliver amazing looks on this red carpet. Ava DuVernay is the fearless leader of this film. I have heard that she had directed this cast into an absolutely amazing film. Ava has become a bit of a fashionista too. She has given us looks from Armani Prive, Ashi Studio, Greta Constantine, and Zac Posen. For the LA premiere of A Wrinkle in Time I would love to see Ava step out on the red carpet giving us glamour wearing this navy draped open back Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2018 long sleeve gown which gown features a high rounded neckline, gathered detail at the waist, sexy split, and an open back. This gown definitely shows more skin than we are used to seeing from Ava and we could very well see her have the gown customized covering the open back and closing the split. Personally I think that she should close the back and maybe sew the split up to just above the knee. If we are customizing the gown I would probably ask Prabal if he would add a dramatic train to really make this a major moment. I think that this would make for a chic, dazzling moment for Ava with a pair of navy satin Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe platform pumps, a bun of braids, smokey eyes, nude lips, and a pair of simple Harry Winston diamond teardrop earrings. Bellamy Young is going from First Lady (then President) of Scandal to what is expected to be one of the biggest Blockbusters of the year. Bellamy started working with stylist Victor Blanco last year and they have been making magic ever since. They haven’t had a gown moment yet so I am really interested in seeing what they will cook up for the premiere of A Wrinkle in Time. What I love about Victor is that he isn’t afraid to take chances and push his girls to go for really bold looks. I would love to see Victor put Bellamy in this black Azzaro Spring 2018 Couture strapless gown which features red beading, a defined waist, column gown, center split, and a caped back for this premiere. I think that this gown is dark glamour defined and that it would look absolutely beautiful on Bellamy. I would have her style her hair into a romantic updo adding a bold defined eye, red lip, simple black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and a selection of Norman Silverman diamonds including a pair of simple drop earrings and a statement five row bracelet to really ensure that this look just exudes glamour head to toe. I love seeing Gugu Mbatha Raw on the red carpet and she has a lot of projects to promote this year and A Wrinkle in Time is the first of five projects that she has slated to promote this year. I want to see her give a very modern interpretation of glamour wearing this blush pink Armani Prive Spring 2018 Couture tea length gown which features a strapless neckline, column silhouette, an abstract draped asymmetrical rose detail on the hip, and a fully sequined skirt. I know that Gugu can sell this shape on the red carpet (it is similar to the electric blue sequined Oscar de la Renta gown she wore for the LA premiere of Beauty and the Beast) and I definitely think that she would deliver this as a beautiful, feminine moment. Short tight curls, rose gold smokey eyes, a light pink lip, nude Nancy Gonzalez ‘Rose’ crocodile flap clutch, a pair of bisque Gianvito Rossi pleated satin crystal broach buckle sandals, and Saati Fine Jewelry rose gold, pink quartz, and diamond drop earrings all would really ensure this look just oozes feminine glamour. Mindy Kaling is one who I find to be a very underrated style wise on the red carpet. She knows how to dress her curves and LOVES color. As one of the main stars of the A Wrinkle in Time I am really excited to see what she will deliver on this red carpet. I went to a bohemian yet glamorous moment with this bluegrass Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features short ruffled sleeves, a V-neckline and rounded back-line, lace inserts, and a slight train at back. I definitely think that while this isn’t a bright use of color like shocking pink or turquoise that it would be a beautiful moment against Mindy’s complexion. I would infuse the fun into this look through the styling wearing it with a sleek bun, smokey eye, wine red lips,  black suede Aquazzura ‘Jaipur’ gold embroidered sandals, and a pair of rose gold Verdi mixed sapphire and diamond link earrings to make this a beautiful moment for Mindy. Oprah Winfrey is a queen and I want her to be fashON when she steps onto the red carpet at this premiere. It has been a long time since Oprah has stepped onto a red carpet as the star of a movie and I want to see her really go for it for this premiere. I would love to see Oprah wearing this hot pink Sachin + Babi Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features long peasant sleeves, a keyhole detail on the bodice, a red beaded neckline, long train, and a center split. This gown is bold and statement making but just oozes effortless glamour and I really want to see Oprah up the glam factor even more with the styling. Full curls pulled back, a smokey eye, red lip, red Aquazzura ‘Sofia’ open toe sandals, and a pair of Graff ‘Peony’ diamond and ruby floral drop earrings all would ensure that Oprah owns the red carpet at the LA premiere of A Wrinkle in Time. When it comes to the red carpet Reese Witherspoon is rarely one of my favorites on the red carpet. She often wears pretty, but boring things on the red carpet. I want to see her glow on the red carpet at the LA premiere of A Wrinkle in Time and I think the would do just that wearing this light gold sequin Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2018 a-line gown which features a camisole style bodice with a v-neckline. I feel like usually Reese’s best red carpet moments come from really dramatic gowns with big skirts and dramatic trains, but I think the simplicity of this gown and veering away from her standard column shape would be a really beautiful moment for Reese. I think that if she gave us femme fatale glamour via a 50’s inspired updo, cat eye smokey eyes, a bold red lip, a Christian Dior embroidered minaudiere in aged gold-tone metal and deep blue suede lambskin, gold Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ glittered sandals, and a pair of vintage gold set Van Cleef & Arpels diamond tassel earrings all would ensure that this is one of the best red carpet moments Reese has had in a really long time. At 16 Rowan Blanchard has caught the eye of designers that most stars could only dream of. She has been dressed by Miu Miu, Giambattista Valli Couture, Chanel Couture, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, and Gucci in the last year. I am really excited to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet at this premiere. While many would expect the couture factor to be brought by the likes of Oprah and Reese, but I am wishing that Rowan will do that wearing this ivory lace Chanel Spring 2018 Couture strapless cocktail dress overlaid with a crystal beaded organza midi length pinafore. This is a very precious dress that I feel like Rowan is one of the few that could make this a really chic red carpet moment. Some (like Kristen Stewart) might ditch the pinafore and just wear the lace cocktail dress, but I definitely think that it adds a very chic addition to this look. Finish it with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, a rose pink lip, nude Roger Vivier Roger Vivier suede block heel mule with crystal-embellished buckle, and a pair of Chanel Fine Jewelry diamond and opal floral earrings all would ensure this is such a beautiful moment for Rowan’s first blockbuster movie premiere.Finishing out this unusually long wish list is another budding fashionista the 14 year old Storm Reid. Now Storm has been checking out some blockbuster movie premieres recently attending the Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the Black Panther premieres in LA. I am hoping that this budding fashionista will deliver a really great moment on this red carpet. I had already picked a dress for Storm to wear, that I’ve already forgotten about, when I was flipping through the Vionnet Pre-Fall 2018 collection and I saw this green floral gown which features dramatic pleating and lots of ruffles on the bodice. Storm is incredibly tall for her age and I know it is going to take someone tall to really own this gown. I am confident that she would deliver this as a statuesque moment. The look would be perfectly rounded out with a chic braided hairstyle, green Serupi mother of pearl clutch, simple defined eyes, a soft pink lip, and a pair of forest green Marc Ellis velvet and leather cross front heeled sandals.

The LA premiere of A Wrinkle in Time will take place on Monday February 26, 2018.

2018 SAG Awards: TV Drama Cast Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

Today we are back on the lovely ladies of television and the women nominated in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. There are so many lovely ladies in drama series right now that there are a lot that just don’t make the cut for an individual nomination. What I love most about the SAG Awards is that they do honor the whole ensembles. I learned when I was doing live theater in high school that everyone in an ensemble is important and there are a lot of shows out there right now that have really strong ensembles.Emilia Clarke is one of the many stars of Game of Thrones and is one of my favorites to see on the red carpet. She kicked off awards season giving us blonde hair on the red carpet and really striking looks from Michael Kors, Elie Saab, Altuzarra, J.W. Anderson, and Dolce and Gabbana. I am hoping that despite the fact that she isn’t nominated that Emilia will still be on the red carpet. I think that her stepping out in this very 80’s red textured ruffled Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features a sweetheart neckline, two cutouts on the bodice, and an a-line skirt would be a really striking moment on the red carpet. I can understand that the dress might need the support of the spaghetti straps, but I would like to see the team from the Valentino Maison take this gown add some support in the bodice and make it strapless for Emilia to wear on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. I would let this look be all statement making with a sleek updo, smokey eye, matching red lip, a pair of nude Christian Louboutin ‘Crystal Queen’ embellished sandals, and a vintage Cartier 18k gold and diamond collar necklace to really ensure that Emilia gives us this very modern 80’s moment in the perfect way.Gwendoline Christie is one that I find to be very up and down on the red carpet. Her custom Giles Couture gown that she wore to the Golden Globe Awards was overcooked and albeit really ugly, but the silver Gucci gown that she wore for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi LA Premiere was glamour personified. I want to see the 6’3″ actress really deliver a glamorous moment on the SAG Awards red carpet, so I went to this grey and red Vionnet Spring 2018 RTW drapes gown which features a pink red and black ruched waist. I think that the draped glamour of this gown would definitely ensure a real moment for Gwendoline. Big structured gowns haven’t been a real winner for her in the past, but these very fluid gowns have been and I think that it would be a really beautiful moment for her on the red carpet. Round the look out with vintage inspired waves, bold defined eyes, a red lip, red Gianvito Rossi scalloped suede ankle wrap pumps, and a pair of statement vintage Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond waterfall earrings to ensure head to toe perfection.Maisie Williams is one of the underrated style stars from the cast of Game of Thrones. She has a lot of really great moments on the red carpet in the past and I am really excited to see what she could bring to the SAG Awards red carpet. For past SAG Awards she has worn rather unknown brands like Self-Portrait and Charlie Brear, and she definitely can spot a great up and coming brand for her red carpet moments. Ong Oaj Pairam is a British designer who has caught the likes of stars like Arizona Muse, Natalie Dormer, Skai Jackson, and Maisie herself so I thought picking another look from the brand for her to wear for the 2018 SAG Awards would be a great idea.  This fully sequinned sable silk organza in an abstract Tiffany lamp design Ong Oaj Pairam Spring 2018 RTW midi length gown which features a strapless neckline and a tulip skirt is dramatic yet simple enough for the SAG Awards red carpet. I think that Maisie would definitely take this gown add a romantic updo, smokey eye, rose pink lips, and a pair of nude Rene Caovilla crystal bow embellished heel sandals and really ensure that this is a beautiful moment for this red carpet. Nathalie Emmanuel is another of the GoT ladies that I feel are incredibly underrated when it comes to their red carpet style. While she hasn’t necessarily been the most consistent guest on the SAG Awards red carpet she has walked this red carpet in the past wearing designs from J. Mendel Couture and Herve Leger. I went for a big reach by picking this olive green fringed Christian Dior Fall 2017 Couture sleeveless gown which features a column silhouette and a plunging neckline, but I definitely think that it fits the edgy, bohemian vibes that Nathalie tends to exude on the red carpet. Dior tends to over-saturate the red carpet market, and I feel like this would be the perfect example of the right dress on the right girl. Tight, voluminous curls, an olive smokey eye, burgundy lips, black Aquazzura ‘Goddess’ silk braided sandals, and a pair of Fred Leighton diamond and citrine chandelier earrings set in silver and 18K yellow gold all would really make sure that Nathalie just exudes bohemian cool girl glam.Sophie Turner is a fave of Louis Vuitton and I would expect nothing less than her wearing a custom gown from the brand on the SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday night. There aren’t many looks left from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 RTW collection that could be turned into a custom gown for this red carpet. I would love to see Sophie take this white sequin fringed knit lace gown from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 RTW collection and have the brands designer Nicolas Ghesquière turn it into a floor length column gown. Sophie in white can be magical. Her peachy skin tone and fire red locks just pop against the color. Styling the look with a sleek ponytail, smokey eyes, a bold red lip, white Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ half d’Orsay pumps, and a selection of Louis Vuitton High Jewellery including emerald and diamond drop earrings and a statement emerald, onyx, and diamond cocktail ring would all ensure that this is a really chic statement for Sophie.Vanessa Kirby is the only person on this list who isn’t part of the cast of Game of Thrones. Instead she is Princess Margaret in The Crown. She has become a fan favorite even if the awards nominations only go to Claire Foy. She has been working with power stylist Michela Erlanger (who also dresses Diane Kruger, Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o, and Ana De Armas) and wearing some amazing things from the likes of Prada, Marchesa, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab. So I am hoping that she will steal the show on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. Often we don’t see stars who aren’t nominated in the individual categories wearing couture on the SAG red carpet, but I feel like the inner rebellious Princess Margaret is the perfect person to bring this black silk Chanel Fall 2017 Couture tea length gown to life on the red carpet. The new couture collection will debut two days after the SAG Awards so I say why not? Add a chic updo, winged eyeliner, red lips, a pair of black satin Sophia Webster ‘Coco’ crystal heel pumps, Chanel Fine Jewelry diamond and onyx disc earrings, and a statement black and white diamond Chanel Fine Jewelry bracelet to really make this the perfect couture moment for Vanessa to rock on the SAG Awards red carpet.

The 2018 SAG Awards will be held on Sunday January 21, 2018.

“The Zookeepers Wife” London Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

I am really hoping that Jessica Chastain takes her latest film The Zookeepers Wife on the road. So far we have seen Jessica premiere the film in Poland and that is it. I am wishing that we will see premieres for the film in LA and in London. I already made the wish for Mrs. Chastain to wear Elie Saab for an LA premiere and now I am moving on to what I would love to see her wearing for a premiere for the film in London. I think that this gorgeous black, red, and pink draped Vionnet Fall 2017 RTW halter neck gown would be gorgeous on Jessica. I love seeing Jessica in red and pink and this look would be a visual delight on her. The gown is elegant and I think that she will rock the red carpet like no other wearing this creation on the red carpet. Styling the look with old Hollywood waves, a red lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of black stain Gianvito Rossi ‘Gala’ sandals would really make this a major movie star moment on the red carpet for one of my favorite style stars.

10 Best Looks from the 2017 Golden Globe Awards

10-best-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-1The first major red carpet of awards season took place in Hollywood last night and the stars really brought it. There were so many great looks last night on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet, and I had a bit of a hard time picking which would be the top 10 of the night, but I did it.

1) Emma Stone in Valentino Couture: Topping the list is the always gorgeous Emma Stone. I had really high expectations for Emma last night and she showed up wearing a “City of Stars” inspired custom silver star embroidered Valentino Couture. While I might have rolled my eyes at the idea of being so kitschy with the themes from La La Land, but the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy really shined like a sea of stars. The gorgeous Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace, soft makeup, loose updo, and Jimmy Choo sandals added the perfect touches to this dazzling moment. I cannot wait to see what the rest of awards season has in store for Emma. 10-best-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-22) Blake Lively in Atelier Versace: For someone who was just on the red carpet as the plus one of presenter and nominee Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively really brought it. I knew that Blake wouldn’t let me down. This black velvet custom Atelier Versace gown which features gold sequin halter and pocket detailing this was just an absolutely gorgeous moment for Blake. I was sad to see that they had to cut this gorgeous gown right on the red carpet into a tea length dress because Blake wasn’t able to walk down the carpet in the gown. I was glad that they were able to get photos of the look as the gorgeous gown before they chopped it. The diamond and emerald Lorraine Schwartz cuffs, diamond studs, sleek updo, and smokey eye rounded this look out to perfection.

3) Brie Larson in custom Rodarte: After winning the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama trophy at the Golden Globe Awards last year Brie Larson was back on the red carpet this year as a presenter. Brie did so in va va voom glam wearing a custom red Rodarte gown which features an embellished sweetheart neckline fitted bodice and flowing skirt. Some pointed out that this gown likened to another Rodarte gown which Natalie Portman wore to the Venice Film Festival premiere of Black Swan, and I kind of agree. Both looks are gorgeous. Bries gown evokes bombshell glamour and I absolutely adore it. From her old Hollywood waves to her perfectly matching red lip to her Forevermark diamonds there was nothing that I would change about this look.

4) Thandie Newton in custom Monse: I was totally rooting for Thandie Newton to win the Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series, Movie, or Limited Series award last night so I was very disappointed that she did not win. What Thandie did win was the heart of the fashion world stepping out on the red carpet wearing a custom white Monse off the shoulder long sleeve column gown which looks like it was just dipped in orange sequins. I was praying that Monse was going to get a major awards season moment and Thandie more than delivered. The gorgeous actress finished her look with Harry Winston diamonds and Jimmy Choo shoes. 10-best-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-35) Evan Rachel Wood in custom Altuzarra: On the red carpet Evan Rachel Wood, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama, noted how after several times attending the Golden Globes wearing gowns that she wanted to show girls that you don’t have to wear a gown on the red carpet. So she shunned the gown and wore a custom Altuzarra white tie tuxedo. What I think I love most about this look is that Evan wanted to reference the classic film Victor/Victoria and she perfectly nailed that.

6) Ruth Negga in custom Louis Vuitton: If you had told me that Ruth Negga was going to wear a custom Louis Vuitton gown on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards I probably would have just rolled my eyes and begged her stylist Karla Welch to not. I would have been forced to eat my words. Ruth really has continued to prove why I named her a One to Watch in 2017. This gorgeous fully sequined gold Louis Vuitton cap sleeve column gown just says I AM HERE! I am very excited to see what else Ruth and Karla can cook up over the course of awards season. Finished with finger waves, dark moody makeup, and Fred Leighton x Gemfields diamonds this look was liquid gold.

7) Jessica Biel in Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture: Last night was really the night of the plus-ones. From Blake Lively in custom Atelier Versace to Jessica Biel in off the runway Elie Saab the wives were in couture. I was wondering if Blake or Jessica were going to present, neither did, but both showed up in gowns that upstaged some of the nominees. I am always a go big or go home and Jessica definitely did that with her gorgeous floral embellished Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture halter gown which features a velvet plunging bodice, sexy center split, and a printed ball skirt. I have been waiting for this gown to have a red carpet moment, while I did not think it was going to be on the Globes red carpet, and Jessica more than did this gown justice. Neil Lane diamonds, Ferragamo shoes, sleek updo, and soft makeup all made the look total perfection. 10-best-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-48) Amy Adams in custom Tom Ford: Amy Adams spent the end of 2016 doing the pony dance between promoting her two films Nocturnal Animals and Arrival. While she was nominated for the latter, Amy payed homage to her Nocturnal Animals director Tom Ford (who was also nominated) wearing a custom Tom Ford strapless square neck bustier grey anthracite sequin column evening gown. This dress fit Amy to absolute perfection. I was kind of hoping that Amy would have a little more dramatic gown but how perfect of this gown fit and the confidence that Amy exuded just really made this gown. Amy finished her look with Cartier diamonds and Jimmy Choo shoes.

9) Anna Kendrick in Vionnet Spring 2017 RTW: I had posted this gorgeous grey Vionnet Spring 2017 RTW one shoulder draped gown for Keri Russell to wear on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. If that wish had come true I don’t think that the gown would be on this list. Anna Kendrick glided gown the Globes red carpet evoking a smokey goddess. I am very excited that Anna gave this gown the red carpet moment it deserves and more than did it justice. Pulled back waves, dark makeup, and Neil Lane diamonds finished this look.

10) Naomie Harris in Armani Prive: Last but not least is the gorgeous Naomie Harris. While I would guess that this Armani Prive gown was pulled together quite quickly since Naomie returned to stylist Nola Singer after a brief sting with Michela Erlanger on Saturday, it was amazing. Naomie was another of my Ones to Watch in 2017 and she has not been letting me down. This gold custom Armani Prive strapless embellished column gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline was absolutely amazing. Finished with Tiffany & Co. diamonds, Jimmy Choo bag and shoes, glam Veronica Lake waves, and dewy makeup rounded out this perfect red carpet moment.

2017 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a Television Drama Red Carpet Wish List

caitriona-balfe-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Rolling on with my 2017 Golden Globe Awards wishes means that I am now officially onto the nominees in the television categories. I am intrigued to see what this years nominees bring since this will be a first time win, and a lot of first time nominations, for the women in this category. Caitriona Balfe is celebrating her second nomination in a row for her role on the Starz series Outlander. I would say that Caitriona is the peoples favorite to take home this trophy this year. There was such an outcry after Outlander was shut out of the 2016 Emmy Awards and I think we might see Cait take home the Globe on Sunday. I have not been the biggest fan of anything that Caitriona has worn on the red carpet in the last year, in fact several of her looks I nominated for Worst Dressed of the Year (though she didn’t make the cut (but barely.)) I would love to really see Caitriona start to shine on the red carpet come the Globes red carpet on Sunday. I think that this ivory satin long gown from the Lanvin Spring 2017 RTW collection which features a reversed low-cut neckline, a gold waistband, and a floral broach at the lapel would be the perfect way to help Caitriona restore my faith in her red carpet dressing abilities. I think that the effortless elegance of this gown would really shine on Caitriona, and it would give the new Bouchra Jarrar helmed Lanvin its first major red carpet moment. The styling I would add to this look include a sleek low ponytail, yellow gold set diamond ear cuff, gold clutch, red lip, and black sandals to really bring the glamour to the forefront on Caitriona. claire-foy-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Claire Foy, who is nominated for playing Queen Elizabeth 2 in the Netflix series The Crown, is nominated for her first Golden Globe Award, and will be gracing her first major red carpet on Sunday night. I was taken with Claire’s pink and gold brocade Erdem dress at the shows premiere in London and I think that Claire would be the perfect person to really bring a British label to the Globes red carpet. I would love to see Claire hit the Globes red carpet in this light powder blue Ralph & Russo Spring 2016 Couture strapless ball gown which features gold embroidery and a rosette texture. Last year there was only one look from Ralph & Russo on the red carpet and it was on a supermodel who was just there as a guest, so this would be the labels first real major moment on the Globes red carpet. Most Ralph & Russo styles are just a little too much, perfect for the Oscars, Cannes, or the Met but usually not the Globes. This gown would be perfect. It has the right amount of drama for this red carpet. Round this look out with a chic updo, pink lip, and gold pumps to really make this a true statement for Claire. After picking up a Critics Choice Award for her performance in Westworld Evan Rachel Wood is probably the leading front runner for the Best Actress in a Television Drama at the Golden Globe Awards next Sunday. With that in mind I am making a very dramatic choice with this black Olivier Theyskens Spring 2017 RTW strapless belted ball gown which features a dramatic train. I have been waiting for the two gorgeous gowns from this collection to get red carpet moments and sadly they haven’t but I really think that Evan would be the perfect person to bring this gown to life on the red carpet. While the gown is a statement in its own right I would add a statement vintage gold set emerald and diamond Cartier necklace to add a punch of sparkle around Evans neck. Finishing the look with a wavy pixie, lined eye, red lip, and black Christian Louboutin ‘Marchavekel’ knotted sandals would really make this one of my favorite looks of the night.keri-russell-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Keri Russell has potential to be one of the women who can dominate best dressed lists, but she rarely lives up to it. I am hoping that when the The Americans star takes to the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday that she shows up in full glam mode. I think that Keri would look gorgeous on the red carpet wearing this gorgeous one shoulder Vionnet Spring 2017 RTW grey gown which features stunning pleated drapery. Keri’s favorite color to wear is black and I just lightened it a little for this red carpet. I am not wishing for her to show up in bold red or hot pink just something that is not basic. Everything about this look screams soft, moody glamour. I would round this look out with a gold clutch (to match the belt,) a pair of gold sandals, old Hollywood waves, a smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of gold set diamond drop earrings to really send this look into best dressed territory for Keri.

I will be live-tweeting the red carpet and ceremony of the 2017 Golden Globe Awards starting at 6PM EST. Grab a glass of champagne and follow me on Twitter to find out what all the stars are wearing on the red carpet.

22nd Annual Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

allison-williams-22nd-critics-choice-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1We are getting a double dose of Critics Choice Awards this year. The Broadcast Television Journalists Association and the Broadcast Film Critics Association have moved their normally annual Critics Choice Awards from its normal spot in mid January, a stop between the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards, to mid-December. This makes it the first major televised awards show of the season. We will be seeing all of the best of television and film take to the red carpet on December 11, 2016. Allison Williams is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work in the final HBO series Girls, and I am very excited to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet. I have long loved seeing Allison on the red carpet and I am sure that she will be extremely glamorous when she steps out for the Critics Choice Awards. I would love to see Allison take to the the red carpet wearing this amazing black Altuzarra Spring 2017 RTW gown floral embellished gown which features spaghetti straps, a tiered skirt, and a plunging neckline. I think that this is a chic, feminine, flirty gown which on Allison would come across as elegant and graceful. A simple pair of black sandals, a yellow Edie Parker clutch, yellow diamond drop earrings, a chic updo, and a fresh face of makeup would really send this look over the top.Elizabeth Debicki can either be really good or cringe inducing when she steps out on the red carpet. I am praying that when she walks the carpet at the 22nd Critics Choice Awards, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series, that Elizabeth is in top form. I tend to think of Elizabeth as a vintage beauty. Her milky skin tone and blonde hair, along with her grace, remind me of beauty of days gone by. I would love to see her embrace that as she powers through awards season. I think that Elizabeth would be so glamorous on the Critics Choice red carpet wearing this gorgeous midnight blue Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2017 40’s inspired gown which features short puffy sleeves, beaded embellishments along the neckline, and a slightly flowing skirt. I think that this gown would be an absolute stand out moment for Elizabeth who could finally say I AM HERE, with something extremely chic and elegant. To really send this look home I would love to see Elizabeth style the look with a chic loose curled updo, diamond & sapphire drop earrings, a midnight blue Edie Parker clutch, midnight blue satin peep toe pumps and a sexy cat eye. julia-louis-dreyfus-22nd-critics-choice-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Julia Louis-Dreyfus is another where I don’t usually fall in love with her red carpet looks. Prior to the Emmy Awards earlier this year it had only been designs by Narciso Rodriguez, but her Carolina Herrera gown at the Emmy’s was fantastic. I am hoping that she will continue to give me moment that I take notice of at the Critics Choice Awards, where she is nominated yet again for her role in Veep. I think that Julia will be absolutely gorgeous walking the red carpet in this black and white Jenny Packham Spring 2017 RTW gown which features a plunging neckline, a gold beaded waistline, and flowing chiffon skirt. This gown is in the realm of something that I can totally picture Julia wearing on the red carpet, and it may come down as one of her best looks ever. Rounding out the look with chic old Hollywood waves, a pair of simple gold sandals, a smokey eye, and dazzling yellow gold set diamond drop earrings would ensure that Julia wins, at least wins the red carpet.kerry-washington-22nd-critics-choice-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Kerry Washington has always been a favorite of mine on the red carpet. She was fearless in custom Brandon Maxwell on the Emmy Awards red carpet and I am hoping that her first major red carpet post baby will finish the year just as strong as the rest of the year. I have been waiting for Kerry to don a Giambattista Valli gown all year and this is really the last shot her her to make the wish come true. I would die if Kerry stepped out on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards, where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series, wearing this absolutely gorgeous purple Giambattista Valli Fall 2016 Couture off the shoulder draped gown which features a wrap style skirt, and big puffy draped sleeves. Kerry was the first person that came to mind when I saw this gown take to the red carpet back in July and I think that this would be a great red carpet to see her wearing it. A chic updo, smokey eye, simple diamond earrings, a glossy nude lip, & a pair of killer black sandals would complete this look to absolute perfection. Who knows maybe it could be another Best Dressed of the Year upset.thandie-newton-22nd-critics-choice-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Rounding out today’s post is Thandie Newton, who is nominated at the Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Westworld. There was a time that I would get really excited about seeing Thandie on the red carpet, but recently she has gotten to a place where her looks have been a bit fug. I am hoping that with nominations under her belt that she will be stepping up her red carpet game. I think that for the Critics Choice Awards red carpet that I would love to see Thandie hit the red carpet in this bold yellow Haider Ackermann Spring 2017 RTW gown which features spaghetti straps, a plunging neckline, and 3-D detailing on the skirt. Haider gowns are rare on the red carpet and I am praying that we will see some of this amazing collection on the red carpet and I think that Thandie would be perfect to bring this gown to life on the red carpet.

I will be live tweeting the 22nd Annual Critics Choice Awards red carpet on Sunday December 11, 2016, please join me!

2016 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

beyonce-2016-american-music-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1The American Music Awards are Sunday Night! We are almost there! I am super excited to see who will all step out for the last big music event of the year. I think the biggest pipe dream of them all is that Beyonce will step out. It was shocking that even with the release of Lemonade that Beyonce wasn’t nominated for Artist of the Year. Though Bey is nominated for Favorite Soul/R&B Artist and Album as well as Best Tour. The light bay be dim but I am not letting go of all hope. If she does attend I don’t think she will go for a big or statement making couture gown. In fact I would imagine that Beyonce would go for something like this dark dusty blue Roberto Cavalli Spring 2017 RTW fully embroidered gown which features an oval neck and slight bell style sleeves. I think that Beyonce would look very chic in this gown, paying homage to the now iconic yellow Cavalli gown she wore in her Lemonade special. Finishing the look with luscious pulled back waves, a smokey eye, a statement cocktail ring, simple black sandals, and a pair of dazzling diamond drop earrings would put this on top for me.chrissy-teigan-2016-american-music-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Chrissy Teigan is undoubtedly going to be on the arm of hubby John Legend as he makes his way down the American Music Awards red carpet on Sunday night. John is going to be performing his single Love Me Now as well as being nominated with Meghan Trainor for their collaboration Like I’m Gonna Loose You. Chrissy is always playing the role of the perfect plus on for John on the red carpet. Since the two had a baby over the summer Chrissy has not lost any of her red carpet mojo. On Sunday night I would love to see Chrissy take to the red carpet on John’s arm wearing this gorgeous rose gold Monique Lhuillier Spring 2017 RTW fully embellished halter gown which features a plunging neckline, a fitted waist, and a full length skirt. I love the relaxed glamour of this gown and I think that for their first major red carpet postpartum that this would be a gorgeous moment. A pair of champagne satin platform peep toe pumps, dazzling diamond drop earrings, a sleek ponytail, and a bronze smokey eye would ensure that this is a gorgeous moment on the American Music Awards red carpet. lady-gaga-2016-american-music-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1I have been in love with this more glam side of Lady Gaga that was debuted last year and has not lost steam since then. Sunday Gaga will perform her single Million Reasons at the American Music Awards. Since she isn’t nominated I don’t expect anything too crazy out of her red carpet look, though I am sure that we will see several costume changes through the night. For the red carpet I would love to see Gaga rock this Brandon Maxwell Spring 2017 RTW ensemble which features a petal pink heavy georgette strapless bralet and pair of heavy georgette high waisted high cuff pants. The “Joanne” persona of Gaga, which also is the title of her new album, wears a wide brimmed pink hat and I think that this ensemble would work with that look perfectly. I would imagine that a pair of pale pink platform pumps (not the extreme platforms of Gaga of yesteryear) and a bold pink lip would be the perfect touches to this look for Gaga. rihanna-2016-american-music-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Rounding out this set of wishes is Rihanna. I am happy that Rihanna’s deadlock phase came and went really quickly. At the very core Rihanna embodies high fashion. Her Fenty x Puma line showcased during Paris Fashion Week was an urban homage to Marie Antoinette and she pulled it off magnificently. I decided to go with something high fashion and glamorous that I only think that Rihanna could pull off. This mint green Vionnet Spring 2017 RTW draped fringe gown with a plunging neckline would be one of my favorite looks of the night if Rihanna were to make it happen. I think this gown paired with a sleek ponytail, a gold cuff, gold earcuff, and a red lip would ensure that this look is absolutely perfect from head to toe.

The 2016 American Music Awards are Sunday November 20, 2016. I will be tweeting red carpet looks all the red carpet looks so please join me.
